Windows 11 is far from perfect and complaints are usually met with contempt in the Linux community. The advice from Linux users is to switch from Windows 11 to one of the almost endless number of Linux distributions available.

This is a little helpful advice because Windows users simply don't want to use Linux in most parts. You chose Windows for certain reasons, and the fact that it's not quite ideal isn't really a good reason to just give it up. So it's nice to see that a Linux fan has made good use of their software development capabilities and developed OFGB (Oh Frick Go Back), a utility that removes ads from Windows 11.

As a workaround, you can set the following environment variable to correct the issue:

You can do this by accessing Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings > Environment Variables… It’s possible that you may have to restart the machine after adding the environment variable for it to take effect.
