me, after watching a highly acclaimed film which won many awards: ah well, we can’t all be ravenous (1999)…

#not fun enough to justify the lack of thematic coherency and extremely bizarre character logic in my opinion #and i WAS having fun - for the record #i WAS laughing #but personally i think it would have been funnier if the guy made a goofy looney tunes sound effect noise while glancing down over the edge #i heard it in spirit #i read a lot of praise for the film #and i also read one ancient hater review that i actually disagree with #seems like they just wanted it to be a completely different movie which is not useful criticism imo #but - like i said - we can’t ALL be ravenous (1999)#this movie WISHES it could do ‘eat or die’

Just wanted to drop a line to say that I know folks are concerned about Michael unexpectedly not appearing in Nye tonight, but there is a good chance that all of this is related to technical issues/preparing for the live filming of the show that is set to be broadcast into cinemas tomorrow night. Michael also doesn't strike me as the type of person to miss work unless he absolutely can't help it, so the best thing at this point is to stay calm until we know more, rather than getting worked up for potentially no reason...

#i dont think theres much of fandom for this book/show this is gonna get like 9 notes #as always these look fine on my computer and horrific on my phone so thats super fun #my gifs #all the light we cannot see #shawn levy #louis hofmann #aria mia loberti #tvedit #usergreta #dailyflicks #filmedit #atlwcs #really wish they didnt cut frederick #also its weird that this was all in english #i was expecting a mix of german and french and english but theres like no other languages just accents thats pretty stupid #also this is just the film bitch in me but when he exploded the door and she was deaf for a couple seconds and you didnt hear anything they #really should have also completely unfocused the shot too to replicate her being blind AND deaf in that moment #the fact that they only deafened the audio for the audience kinda makes you forget that shes blind they just focused on the deaf part #and blindness isnt just darkness she can probably see some light (npi) so just a really blurry shot with no audio wouldve been great #thats the only like film specific thing i wish they did tho #i really love the shot werner on the ground and in bed #i also dont hate that they made em kiss...#even tho when i read this in high school i was the only one in my socratic seminar who was glad they didnt lmao #its not like reylo like it works #ok im done #OH AND IM GLAD WERNER DIDNT DIE THAT WAS VERY NICE OF THEM

I'm admittedly not really familiar with Alcock, but I'm interested to see her version of Kara! (I'll also admit that my general feelings on all the DC movie/Superman Legacy news is: 'okay, seems cool' but I *am* going to be insufferably particular about Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, as it's easily one of my favorite comics, so anything less than a perfect adaptation is simply unacceptable.) I wonder if DD is traveling somewhere to interview his next podcast subject? (If so, crossing my fingers it's GA.) Or maybe like you said, he's on vacation. Curious~.

I think he's on vacation. Would it make sense for him to travel to his guests? I assume he has something set up in his home to do the podcast. So it would make more sense if they visited him. But of course, with technology being what it is these days, you no longer even have to be in the same room.

Gillian could maybe? perhaps? potentially? visit him when she's going to the Emmys? PM is nominated and her own movie is, too, so I'm sure she's going. I just hope they'll do the podcast, no matter where in the world they might be.
