The field was decorated so beautifully you could have sworn it was done by professionals rather than a rag tag team of werewolves ordered around by their very particular mates. An archway covered in wildflowers pinpointed the end of the aisle that was flanked on both sides by round tables decorated with pure white table clothes and the most beautiful yet simple centerpieces you’d ever seen. You were so busy admiring the layout that you’d completely blocked out Tao’s voice trying to get your attention.

“Hello? Anyone home?” A blurred hand waved back and forth a few centimeters from your nose, making you jump.

You frowned at Tao. “What?”

That little snap made him pout. “I’m over here trying to compliment how nice you look and you’re completely ignoring me.”

You rolled your eyes, but you couldn’t help the smile burning your cheeks. “Thank you.” Reaching out, you fixed the collar of his white button down. The suit jacket he wore was probably a little too over the top for a wedding with its embroidered sleeves and hem, but you didn’t expect anything less from your wolf. “You look very handsome, too.”

“I always look handsome,” he teased, sending you a wink before kissing your cheek.

The two of you continued to walk through the field, joining the small group that had gathered at the end of the aisle.

“-just think we should be cautious, that’s all,” Jongdae was saying in a rather serious tone that was unusual for him.

“Cautious of what?” Tao asked as you approached.

Baekhyun, who didn’t seem as worried as the others, shrugged with his hands in his pockets. “Chanyeol remembered the premonitions that witch had. You know, the ones saying something was coming for us. I say it was Luhan’s mate and that it’s over now, but they don’t agree.”

You glanced over at Luhan and his mate. They were sitting with Hae In at one of the back tables, away from everyone else. A majority of the pack was still cautious of the ex-hunter, even though it’d been a few weeks since she arrived back with Luhan. You thought she was sweet and shy, but some instincts were hard to overcome, you guessed.

“She didn’t do anything that would cause for real worry,” Kyungsoo reminded the group. “We all came out fine and she made sure that no one else in her old organization could find us again.”

“If she wasn’t the ‘big bad’, then what could it be?” Chanyeol wondered.

“I doubt there is anything coming for us,” Sehun sneered. “The witches just like getting worked up over nothing. Remember the issue with Jiyoung?” The wolves nodded in agreement, but you were confused. Even after the time you’d known about the pack, you were still learning about how the different couples came together. After hearing about some of them, you were thankful that you and Tao had a much simpler story.

“Can we stop bringing that up all the time?” Jongdae whined. Sehun simply smirked before walking away to sit at a table he could have all to himself. Jongdae sent a glare in the youngest wolf’s direction. “I can’t wait until that boy finally joins the club. Then I’m going to get revenge. And then some.”

“That’ll be an interesting day,” Kyungsoo mused.

Baekhyun shook his head. “Sehun with a mate is just a weird concept.”

“Why?” you piped up. Wasn’t that a natural occurrence for all wolves?

“He’s been resistant to the idea for so long,” Kyungsoo explained. “I’m not sure how he’d react to finding his mate. Some tend to be a little more resistant than others.” A very pointed look was sent directly at Tao. You frowned, confused, and turned to glance up at the wolf who refused to return the gesture.

“I think the ceremony is about to start,” he said nervously, pulling you away from the others. “Let’s go find a spot.”

“But-”

Tao sighed. “I’ll explain later, okay?”

Your curiosity was burning, but the desperation in his eyes made you agree.

The table Tao picked was right near the front with a perfect view of where the bride and groom would be standing to exchange their vows. No one else was seated there, but you figured it was alright given the lack of “reserved” sign. The two of you sat down and Tao went in to distracting you from your earlier inquiry. He was talking about all the fun the boys had at the bachelor party last weekend when he suddenly stopped.

Lanie had told you about the other pack that would be arriving for the wedding and about how unusual they were for having a female wolf in their midst. From what she explained to you, the female wolf was not a common occurrence. When you asked how it was possible for one to be born, she said it was something about the mother also being a descendant of a wolf and therefore the gene was passed on from both parents, giving the girl the ability to shift as well. It was all very science-y and a bit confusing since biology wasn’t your forte.

Right now, however, your confusion wasn’t coming about because of the unusual guest, but due to the melancholy expression on Tao’s face as he stared at her. The two of them made the briefest of eye contact before Tao looked away. The female wolf had tried to offer him a small smile, but then turned her eyes to you. Unsure of what else to do, you gave a small wave. The smile disappeared and she turned her face away. Tao kissed your cheek, either to distract you or reassure you in regards to the exchange. Timing was on his side as the speakers began to play a soft, warm tune. Others began to join you at the table. You’d have to save that question for later as well.

Kris began to walk down the aisle with little Mei in his arms. She looked like a small angel with her ever-growing black hair and pure white dress. You giggled as Mei hid her face in her father’s shoulder, shy from all the people staring at her. Kris met Junmyeon – who’d gotten his license online to conduct the ceremony – under the archway and they both turned to face the white curtains that cut off the view of the house. Mei was wiggling, so he put her down and she clung to his leg.

The music began to change to a love song you’d heard sung around the house before.

I remember meeting you for the first time

Everyone stood as the curtains were pulled back. Evie stepped into view and took your breath away.

She was beautiful, absolutely stunning. Her short veil fell to her elbows and her dress was simple, but fit in perfectly with the outdoor setting. Tears were evident in the groom’s eyes and you nearly started to cry yourself. Kris tried to wipe them away, but it was too late. The big, scary alpha was melting at the sight of his bride.

I remember familiar streets

I remember the beauty gone adrift

There is a place only you and I know

My heart is beating

Your smile

Is quietly giving me support

Tao grasped your hand and intertwined his fingers with yours. Throughout the entire ceremony, he didn’t let go. You leaned your head on his shoulder, completely content. Both Kris and Evie choked up when reading their vows allowed and the audience laughed when Mei tried to take the microphone away from Junmyeon.

From what you’d been told during set up the night before, weddings among wolves and their mates were unheard of since the couples were already committed to each other for life. But this was what Evie wanted and Kris was willing to give her anything.

Sitting through the ceremony, you couldn’t help but imagine you and Tao in their place, declaring in front of your friends and family to be together for the rest of your lives. As out of place as it might be, you decided right there and then that maybe you’d defy that tradition, just like Evie. You didn’t know when it would be, but you wanted a small wedding of your own, to make Tao cry as you walked down the aisle and have that first dance as a married couple. The perfect happy ending to the story of you and Tao.

Hi, this is not about ASC sorry! Can you recommend some good contemporary romance novels and mystery (with romance) novels to read? Coz that's my favourite; if you've read any in the above genres. What's your favourite genre and books??

I have so many favourite books! Please check out my brie_reads instagram -- I just recommend books on it when i finish a great one! As to mystery, I recently read two pretty good ones (psychological thriller mysteries).

1) The Perfect Girlfriend - Karen Hamilton (woman changes her life to be what she thinks her ex-boyfriend wants and lures him back into a frightening world)

2) Dear Wife - Kimberly Belle (woman is on the run, another woman is missing, Beth’s worried her husband will find her and kill her as Jeffrey learns more secrets about his wife’s life)

As to romance novels, I like ones that usually have a bit of a supernatural element to it or a fun rom/com feel. Most recently, I have read

3) The Bromance Book Club - Lyssa Kay Adams (group of high roller men in the community like professional athletes and club owners read romance novels in a book club to help each other save their love lives)

4) Red, White, and Royal Blue - Casey McQuiston (First son meets the royal prince and they have to learn to get along, only problem is they hate each other but they can deal with it for the public’s sake, right)

Those were both adorably fun. Supernatural romance novels with a bit of mystery and more smut, I love these series:

5) Dark Hunter Series - Sherrilyn Kenyon (mixes steamy romance with Greek mythology and the supernatural)

6) Wings in the Night Series - Maggie Shayne (vampires are a rare breed where only those with a special blood type can be turned, until the government starts hunting them down and doing experiments)

7) Sign of Seven Trilogy - Nora Roberts (3 best friends are forced to come together every 7 years and deal with an unspeakable evil that comes into their town, but this time, it’s ready to destroy everything and they need to stop it with the help of 3 badass women)

8) In Death Series - JD Robb (pen name for Nora Roberts) (follows life of Eve Dallas NYC police officer in year 2050, mystery and romance)

I also really love historical conspiracy and action books such as

9) Cotton Malone Series - Steve Berry (Cotton is an ex-spy and ex-Navy man who finds himself amidst treasure hunts and discovers some of the world’s greatest mysteries)

10) Strike Series - Robert Galibrath (pen name for JKR) (detective series)

Then just some of my favourite books of all time that I have read over and over and over again and never tire of:

11) Outlander Series - Diana Gabaldon (historical romance, time-travel, mystery, horror, sex, medicine, violence, it has it all)

12) Three Sisters Island Trilogy - Nora Roberts (3 witches descended from the Salem witches have to find love and come together to save the island before it gets thrown into the sea)

13) The Princess Bride - William Goldman (romance, fairy-tale, comedy, satire, what more could you want)

14) The Count of Monte Cristo - Alexandre Dumas (mystery, intrigue, revenge)

15) Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen (classic romance)

16) The Witch of Blackbird Pond - Elizabeth George Speare (girl who grows up wild and free in Barbados is thrust into the life of the Puritans in 17th c. Mass. but she befriends a Quaker and a handsome sailor)

17) The Bronze Horseman Trilogy - Paulina Simmons (history, romance, intrigue, war, violence, sex, death)

18) The Circle Series - Ted Dekker (supernatural, action-thriller, biblical, romance)

19) All Souls Trilogy - Deborah Harkness (historical, supernatural, romance, time-travel)

20) The Historian - Elizabeth Kostova (historical, romance, mystery)

21) Candide - Voltaire (pure incredible satire)

22) Maus - Art Spiegelman (history, true story, told in comic form)

This is just an example. As to genres, I think I like supernatural/mythologica romances the best, but I honestly read a good mix of everything! Hope it helps!

Do you have some Headcannons of Genderbend of HUMA? If not what's your view of Genderbending?

Oooo so....this is kind of complicated? Let’s hope I can get this out in a way that’s understandable.

Generally, I’m okay with genderbending. However, as an African American female who writes a lot for Huma, I personally would never genderbend them. I’m not saying that I dislike or think anyone who does is wrong but personally I would never genderbend Uma specifically.

Why?

Because there’s very limited examples of black female characters in the media that are inspiring. And there’s even fewer where a black woman, who isn’t racially ambiguous, has a love interest who is actually supportive and loving. Now I know some people will say “It’s a kid’s show. It doesn’t matter.” Actually, as a mental health professional, I can say it does. Research has shown that constant exposure to media where children do not see characters that look like them has a negative impact on those children’s self-esteem and also their views on whatever is their minority identity.

Take for instance all the Disney princess movies. I was born in 1993. Growing up, before the Princess and the Frog came out (and oh, don’t even get me started about how that still felt like a cop out because she was a frog for the majority of the movie), the only princesses that I could pretend I related to were Pocahontas, Jasmine, and Mulan and that’s ONLY because they were not white.

Now, I know this may be hard for some people to imagine but just honestly and truly try: You’re a kid growing and all the TV and books and movies that you see all have a character who doesn’t look like you at all. The fews times you do see that a character that does look like you, they either only have one line, they’re a charicature of some negative stereotype like either a thug, gang member, an idiot, a sidekick etc, or they’re identity is so ambiguous that it’s super hard to relate to them. Obviously, race is an easy thing to pick up on but this also goes for those who identify as LGBTQ+, immigrants, those who have different body shapes and sizes than that of those who are typically shown in media, those with disabilities, and a whole bunch of other minority identities that I’m unfortunately blanking on at the moment.

So yeah, did I memorize a crap ton of Disney songs and make my mom buy me most of the Disney princess movies? Um, yeah, but seriously - and I’m not exaggerating - I remember seeing a Belle costume when I was little (like 6 or 7) and instantly thinking, “I can’t wear that. Belle isn’t black.”

Now because there’s always that one person who likes to point out the obvious, yes, I do know that I could have worn that dress and at the age of 6 or 7 no one was stopping me from wearing it other than my mom who was like “Do you have a Belle princess dress money?” (Of course not mother, what 6 or 7 year old knows about saving like that?) but it’s still the idea that though I had certain qualities that I could relate to with Belle, I knew that if magic did exist and Belle came into the real world her experience as a white woman would be very different than mine.

Anyway, going back to the whole genderbend Uma thing, though I can’t say I have love spelled any King’s lately and I’m pretty sure I’m not a sea witch, I can relate to Uma on both physically and in terms of characteristics. China Anne McClain, though not the darkest black woman is solidly, no denying it, a black woman. There’s no ambiguity and though race may not play a role in terms of her character, it plays a HUGE role in terms of little black girls watching her. Obviously, there are other little girls who like Uma and can be inspired by her too but to have a black female character who is 1.) a leader (she’s captain of a crew), 2.) who’s smart (we see this in the movies during her scenes but also the book really displays this as well), and 3.) who has a heavily implied love interest who obviously supports her and thinks the world of her (have you not seen “What’s My Name”?) changing her to a male character would take away a lot of things that make her awesome. I mean, let’s be real. At least in the U.S. WOC generally but specifically black women are the most looked down upon.

Some people might think I’m thinking way too deep about this but I’m a black woman fanfic writer. I can write whatever the heck I want to write about and what I choose to write about recently focuses on black female characters or at least women of color characters. I honestly think that’s why I’ve stayed in the Descendants fandom for so long. Uma is a fascinating character for me to write because she breaks all the usual black female stereotypes and I think when she and specifically her actress, China, are allowed to shine they’re fantastic.

Like I love fandom and I love fanfiction and all the creatives but I would be lying if I didn’t say that fandom generally has a lot of latent racism. People tend to think that’s people blatantly saying “I hate x character because they’re black/asian/latio/etc.” but that’s not really the truth. Personally, I see it obviously in who people choose to ship characters with. I’m not saying that if you don’t ship x character with a person of color you’re racist but going back to Descendants, I think it’s super evident when you see Harry shipped with basically everyone under the sun and other than Huma and a few Uma/Ben or Sea Three stories (though the Audrey/Uma ship has been growing lately), Uma is never shipped with someone and more likely than not, she’s the bad guy or the suddenly jealous ex or she gets killed off. (I’m a sucker for pain and read a lot of non-Huma stories unfortunately.) And you see that in other fandoms too.

So long answer short: I’m okay with genderbending in general but my personal choice is to not genderbend Uma specifically. (Genderbent Harry would be interesting though.)

hiiii, here are a bunch of fics I’ve enjoyed and loved reading throughout the month of february. I recommend that you read these great fics in march, if you haven’t already. there are SO many good and unique AUs this round, so please check them out!!

(all fics with a star are my favorites and if there are two stars then it was a favorite favorite)

1. Saved Tonight (30k)**

Harry is the world's most persistent seduction-baker, a questionable dog-sitter, and Louis's biggest fan. Louis hasn't written in years, is trying to pass loneliness off as cynicism, and absolutely hates his fans. It's probably destiny.

2. Too Real to Fake It (82k)*

With seven years of blissful marriage behind them and four wonderfully unique kids to brag about, Harry and Louis seem to finally have life all figured out and under control. How much more real could it get?

Very real it turns out, when Harry reluctantly leaves home for a 5 day business trip leaving Louis to manage their rambunctious, hyperactive household. Do they really have it all under control or are they just faking it?

Featuring all the usual suspects, inside jokes, embarrassing moments and of course, Harry and Louis' wild antics + the addition of their four equally wild and outrageous kids.

3. When You Look Like That (16k)*

“You… you still have the dress form I got you for your eighteenth birthday? You've kept it for ten years, Harry?” Louis’ eyes flick around Harry’s studio. It’s big and modern, with floor to ceiling windows that help flood the room in bright sunlight, just like the lobby. However, he can't stop staring at the faded, but present, heart surrounding the “H + L” written delicately in Louis’ handwriting in the center of the mannequin.

Louis is a songwriter who is nominated for a Grammy and he needs a suit. Fast. He seeks out help from a very popular, very mysterious designer who just so happens to be his ex-boyfriend.

4. Dress You Up In My Love (103k)**

Harry is single, and more than anything wants to find love. Agreeing to sign up to a dating website was a bad, bad idea. Niall's bad, bad idea. Louis is single, but has no interest in relationships. Or so he tells himself.   Harry is a lawyer whose boss, Nick, happens to give him a bonus, which he decides to splurge on a new work wardrobe. Louis is a frustrated designer, working as a personal shopper at Selfridges. Louis happens to be working on the day a very beautiful, but out of his depth, new customer ambles into their department in need of advice. Louis might have just found the muse he never knew he was looking for.

5. Of Honey (24k)*

Harry wants what most hybrids don’t have. Love, for instance. Companionship. Understanding. And sex so good it hurts.

6. If You Keep Holding Me This Way (22k)**

Harry is a uni student who just so happens to enjoy dressing up as a long-haired androgynous sub persona to go out to bars and pick up men to dominate him. He tries to keep his BDSM life and his personal one separated, but that gets difficult when his crush on a classmate gets serious and his two worlds collide.

7. Then We Talk Slow (20k)**

The picture showed Harry smiling widely (with a fucking dimple) at the camera, his glossy brown curls situated artfully around his shoulders. Louis couldn’t see his whole outfit, but it seemed to consist of a pink, floral button-up with most of the buttons undone. Louis could also detect the dark outlines of tattoos on his chest, although he couldn’t quite make out what they were underneath the shirt.

What he could make out was that his own heartrate seemed to have picked up significantly.

Shit.

This was so not good. Not only had Louis drunkenly sent messages in a deliberate attempt to interact with this man, he was now insanely attracted to him without ever having met him in person.

Maybe Liam was right – drunk tweeting really was a horrible, rotten idea.

A famous/non-famous AU in which Louis banters back and forth with his new record company on Twitter, only to find out that Harry is the man behind the tweets.

8. Love Endless (The Road to Recollection) (171k)**

The year is groovy 1973, and eighteen-year-old Louis Tomlinson is as gay as the rainbows that never waste their time in gloomy ole' Fortwright. Would be fine if he wasn't so viciously bullied at both home and school for such a "harmful" sexual preference.

Yeah, yeah, we've all heard this story, haven't we?

Believe him, Louis didn't think he was anything special either.

Until he found the mansion. The notoriously haunted mansion hidden deep within the forests of his tiny blip of a town in Bumfuck Nowhere, Idaho. No one with a brain ever goes near it, but Louis could use a little excitement in his life...and possibly a Band-Aid or two.

After discovering the mansion was less abandoned than he'd thought, he's now left with the most riveting mystery of a lifetime; every new finding leaving him with more questions. Who is this elusive owner, and why won't they show themselves? Why is there a set of journals in the same handwriting that span over centuries? Why in the world is there a padlock on the refrigerator...and who the hell is Alexander?

9. Dance Me (to the End of Love) (19k)*

You would think that it's a simple process - you meet, you fall in love, you get married. But when you add one lawyer and one overly-competitive high school teacher to that equation, it's no longer a straight line from beginning to end. Or the story of how a simple proposal becomes a competition where no one loses in the end.

10. For a Spell That Can’t be Broken (8k)

“Why do you have to bug him so much, Lou?” Niall asked, chewing on the sleeve of his Gryffindor robes. “He’s a good kid.”

“I’m aware of that,” Louis argued petulantly.

“Are you sure?” Niall asked, his expression sincerely concerned.

“Don’t mind him,” Zayn spoke up. “Louis’ just got a weird fetish for tormenting boys he likes.”

Or a Harry Potter AU where Louis' got a secret crush on Harry and won't admit it until a late entrance into potions class outs him.

11. Cocoons and Crow’s Nests (10k)*

Harry is happy to live his life in the confines of his Cocoon. Louis specializes in breaking down barriers.

It's a young love, coming of age Larry Stylinson one shot.

12. Dance Like Warriors On A Battlefield (20k)*

Down in the arena, the triumphant gladiator places his foot on the back of the loser, holding him there as he waits for instruction on his next move. Kill or let live. It’s barbaric, really, the bloodlust involved in this sport. Louis is pretty sure that if it wasn’t for his distaste for the killing there would be a lot more blood soaking that sand.

As it is, his father rarely gives the kill order anymore. He gives the order to let the loser live. Louis rolls his eyes, turning away. He doesn’t miss the way the gladiator’s eyes linger on him.

13. Record Your Fate (and Write Me In) (13k)*

Harry is the Archivist, it's his job to record what happens in the universe.

He's only a few days into the job when things take an odd turn.

Suddenly, the small blue eyed boy seems more important than writing about crowning dignitaries.

14. Tangled Up in You (45k)

Harry blinks once. And blinks again. And says, his voice dangerous: “Niall, did you get me a mail-order bride?”

Because what the actual fuck. It kind of looks like Niall’s just purchased a person. For Harry.

“What did you get me, then?!” Niall must hear the tinge of hysteria in his voice, because he’s pulling himself together, trying to stop himself from laughing.

There’s still a big grin on his face, though, when he says, “I got you a professional cuddler.”

A professional…what. “What?”

15. This Ain't Just a Thing That You Give Up (34k)

Harry turned to Liam to whisper something about not being in Kansas anymore but his best friend was frozen to his spot with a look of complete disbelief on his face. Harry looked to his right, the direction Liam seemed to be focused on, and saw a small group of people who had paused their discussion to look towards him in confusion.

A small group including Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson.

Harry is fairly sure his jaw actually dropped.

"Li, is that...?"

Liam nods his head emphatically. "I'm about 110% sure that yes. It is."

Or… The one where Harry is a baker in addition to being a college student who just happens to meet the crazy famous Louis Tomlinson while on spring break. Featuring personal assistant!niall, roommate and best friend!liam, and costar/model!zayn.

16. Resist Everything Except Temptation (100k)**

The lethargic sound of heels clicking against wood resonated across the sea. Footsteps descended the staircase, every assured step creating a menacing aura as it grew closer. Perspiration gathered along Louis’ palms as the rhythmic sound halted in front of him.

There was a metallic slide of a sword being pulled out of its sheath, the sound startling Louis out of his cocoon of sterile shock. His shoulders jumped as the tip of a blade flattened underneath his jaw. Louis’ distorted reflection stared back at him in the polished metal. Engraved rose petals twisted his appearance as they crawled up the length of the sword. The sword lifted and took Louis’ chin with it.

Standing in front of Louis was Captain Styles.

OR The one where Louis is the commodore's son who is forced to become a part of Harry's crew when he is captured.

17. Far Afield (11k)**

Harry Styles is a witch who owns the best flower shop in Manchester. Lottie Tomlinson is planning her wedding, and brings her brother along to her first appointment. Both men have been having a bad day and sparks fly.

18. You’re Either In Or You’re Out (12k)

Louis' tone is maybe a bit harsher than necessary, but he still stinging from the suggestion that he was staring at Harry. Sure, the way his legs are encased in those skinny jeans is mildly intriguing. But Louis is here to be the next Top Designer, and he'll be damned if he lets a pretty boy with a sinful mouth get in the way of his dream. Especially if that sinful mouth is spewing phrases like bohemian pantsuit. Honestly.

Or the one where Louis tries out for Project Runway, Harry is his stupidly gorgeous competitor, Liam is Tim Gunn, Zayn is the supermodel host, and Niall is the guest judge who knows nothing about fashion.

19. These Bountiful Silences (123k)**

They live in a world where they can only say four words per day. Harry meets some people that don't want to live that way.

20. Kiss the Boys (8k)

“Being able to blatantly kiss pretty boys out in the open is my favorite part of Pride,” Harry says without preamble, leaning into Louis’ space, inviting pink lips quirking up as they get closer to him. “You up for it?”

“Um,” Louis glances at Zayn for help. He’d thought for sure after the way he’d just seen Zayn and Harry kissing, there had to be something more going on there. The last thing Louis expects to see on Zayn’s face is a knowing grin.

Harry leans closer and for a split-second, Louis wants to meet him halfway but then he thinks better of it. He doesn’t know the landscape here and in just a couple of weeks living with him, he’s already learned that Zayn is really bad about holding his feelings in. He doesn’t want to risk stepping on the toes of his closest friend here at Uni. So, at the last second, Louis raises his empty hand and covers Harry’s mouth before the boy can complete his mission.

“Sorry, Curly,” Louis says jokingly, “I just don’t know where that mouth has been.”

21. Manhattan From The Sky (47k)**

Harry's been raised to know that successful men do not fall in love. Louis believes that love is all you need to be successful in life. They meet.

The McKinnon family grew up in Monterey near San Francisco. It was a small community that was magical. At least, a few streets nearby were all full of witches and wizards. Mr and Mrs McKinnon both worked for the MACUSA. Mrs Mckinnon, an ex professional Quodpot player, worked for the Magical sports department, while Mr McKinnon held the privleged postion as Head of the Auror Department. It is believed the McKinnon were descended from Native American magical families.

Marcus had an easy childhood. He was athletic, easy-going and fit in. That was until he want to a No-Maj elementary school, at the urgings of his parents. There he found out that being good at something meant other people got jealous. In fact, he pushed the school bully out of most of his sporting teams. This meant for all his years at school, he was constantly bullied, and never really fit in in No-Maj society. For this reason, whatever his family tried to say, Marcus held a grudge, and chip on his shoulder, about No-Maj boys.

Marcus and his father are very close. Reguarly they run off to Quodpot games together, using Mrs McKinnons top box seats. Marcus as a young boy would watch the players with stars in his eyes. He wanted nothing more than to emulate his mother and being a professional quodpot player, but the older he grew, the less and less likely that looked like it was going to happen. His fears were unfounded, everyone who knew Marcus knew his future lay in healing. He was so good with younger students, he knew everything about how to fix any injury caused by Quodpot, and there was no end to his knowledge on the history of healing. But, Marcus was too busy brooding on his lack of Quodpot skill to really notice anything else.

KINGSLEY SHACKLEBOLT - dislike - Kingsley Shacklebolt was in Marcus’ mind his better. He was better at Quodpot, better in lessons, and generally better friends with everybody. He didn’t want to be the kind of person who was jealous, but he couldn’t help himself. Why did he have to be so perfect?

DAISY HOOKUM - crush - After an organised tutoring session to help Marcus’ grades, Marcus found he quite liked Daisy. She was so different to every girl. She didn’t care about Quodpot, and was only impressed by the kind of person Marcus was, not his name, or who his mother and father were. It was refreshing. Yet, he had no idea if he could ever take her on a date. What would they talk about? Would she be good enough for his parents?
