Witchhand really feels like one of those old city-builder/"god games". I mean that it is blatant about being a soothingly dull toy about building simple supply chains and watching your numbers go up, and then the Combat starts.

And it imperceptibly but recognizably slides into a grueling war of attrition that demands you dedicate every single part of your infrastructure into fueling an endless tide of warm bodies and equipment to send into the meat grinder. Except in Witchhand, the warm bodies are cute little animals you put in adorable little hats to give them funny little jobs.

I like playing as the Chaos Witch the most because her gimmick makes your animals useless for combat, freeing them up for more important jobs like "dedicated library desecrater" and "artillery spell sweatshop worker" while your witch fights armies by herself.
