Random Rayllum softness ideas- Valentine's Day edition:

- When Callum wakes up first, he quietly leaves the bed and sets uo a breakfast table with heart-shped sandwiches and apple juice

- When Rayla wakes up, she waits until Callum wakes up too to wish him happy valentine's day, then proceeds to pepper his face with kisses.

- Going out on a walk and a picnic together with their kids. If they're at that age where they habe kids, of course.

- Followed by a dance under the moon at night(Callum uses a special Windsong spell that sends out a small gale that whirls around the user and plays a beautiful music piece the user wishes for it to play) with just two of them.

Okay, time for a rant:

A few day ago I saw a TDP critical post that, in short, justified Zym's egg's destruction cos if Viren had not done it, Zym would've grown up to be like his father and with a deep hatred for humanity.

In some ways, I can understand where it comes from: Avizandum wasn't the best king. In fact, even Xadians debate his actions! And IF maybe Zym's egg wasn't disovered, the beforementioned would've happened.

But at the same time, is it justifiable to kill a child of a tyrant, especially if that said chlid hasn't done anything wrong? Zym's egg was probably laid the same day his father was killed- aka his "only crime". And it's clear that his parents loved him (probably cos storm dragons only lay an egg once every 1000 years, so it would probably be in their nature to care DEEPLY for their child). And to be honest here, ABSOLUTELY nothing justifies killing of another.

Also in an ironic way, would the taking of Zym's egg be considered "good" cos IF he wasn't stolen, would he grow up to become absolute beast? But since he was taken, he learned that the fault was never about humans, but because of decades of racism and discrimination both sides inflicted onto each other and suffered from at the same time?

In many ways, those questions don't really have clear answers.

Random Dark Magic headcanon:

The reason elves and dragons were and still are so against Dark Magic is because it consumes the animal's soul. If you hunt an animal for food and eat it, then it doesn't happen, but with Dark Magic it does. One thing that could prove of it happening is the reason that, if an animal or it's part is used, it usually either disappears or turns into dust(some have multiple uses though). And that's one of the reasons besides many others why it's hated so much.

Random (long) TDP headcanons:

- Storm dragon pregnancy (aka pre laying an egg) lasts 10 years, which is why they only lay once every thousand years as, during pregnancy, especially in the late stages, all of it just becomes super hard for the females due to extreme belly aches, nausea and insomnia. In rare cases, all of them can become so bad they can't even leave the nest. That last point was also the case for Zubeia.

- The previous point was also the reason Zubeia was away from the Spire on that faithful day. She'd been confined in her cave for so long she just needed a break. Unfortunately we all know how this played out...

- While searching for a suitable captain in 2x04, Callum bought a bag of marshmallows from a street vendor, but forgot about them during their trip. It wasn't until between 3x05 and 3x06 when he, Rayla, Zym and Eclipse had to stay a night in a cave due to heavy rain fall and Zym, who was going through Callum's bag for funsies, smelled them, causing him to pull them out.

- Rayla, Zym and Eclipse were obviously curious on what marshmallows were, so Callum offered them some. Eclipse wasn't a fan because she didn't like the texture nor the taste, but Rayla and Zym absolutely loved them. The trio ate them with the fruits they'd gathered during the trip. No worries, some fruits were saved for Eclipse.

- Zym loves tp watch Callum drawing. One time, he even tried to draw himself and while it came out pretty sloppy, he was still proud of his creation.

- Before Soren's arrival the next morning, Ezran gave Pyrrah a jelly tart, which she loved. The dragon then told him why she was attacking the town in the first place, admitting that she was wrong and offering to make up for it in any way she could. So, after Zubeia awoke, Pyrrah was made a royal messenger dragon between the Storm Spire and Katolis as well as a jelly tart tester: when she visits to bring messages, Barius sometimes offers her new flavors and upon her approval, they'll be added on the menu.

- Even though Avizandum was turned to stone, his spirit remained within the statue along with Sarai's spirit, who was imprisoned in the cursed spear, unable to move on. In the future, when Callum removed the spear, both of them were released and able to temporarely manifest in their soul forms. After having a brief talk with their children, thanking them for releasing them, both faded and moved on peacefully to the afterlife.

- 3x02: Rayla yelling encouraging phrases to Callum as he makes his way to the top of A Tree

- Trying to out-flirt each other. It can go on both ways

- Before arriving to Storm Spire: Falling asleep in each other's arms while Eclipse the Shadowpaw puts her tail in them like a blanket and Zym sleeps at their feet as a "protector dragon"

- Callum sparring with Rayla watching him and again yelling encouraging phrases

- Going on a flight with Zym once he's big enough to carry more than one person

- Rayla giving Callum space to talk with Sarai's spirit after he's removed the Cursed Spear from Avinzandum's corpse, thus releasing both his mother and the dragon king from their prison. Callum then calls Rayla to him so Sarai and Avizandum could thank her as well.

Callum: "I don't know if I'm ready yo forgive you just yet. But...maybe sometime later on."
