Tumblr media
You’d volunteered to deal with the docking fees for the Going Merry, locking up the pirate ship as the rest of the crew entered Baratie. You were just five or so minutes late entering after the restaurant the rest of the Straw Hats had gone into. You’d never seen anything like it before—an eatery right in the middle of the ocean, in the shape of a giant fish.
You stepped into the building cautiously, glancing around the wide expanse of the main room to try and catch a glimpse of your friends. The restaurant was big, with a mezzanine that you’d entered in and stairs leading down to the first floor. The host, a fishman who was standing at the reservation desk, glanced up to take a look at you.
“Ah, you must be with the pirates,” he said pleasantly. “Right this way, miss.”
You nodded, wondering how Luffy was intending on paying for the bill of such a place as you scoped out the area. It was far nicer than anything you would’ve expected—but then again, he’d somehow managed to score the Going Merry from Kaya back in Syrup Village, so you figured he’d work something out.
Finally, you caught a glimpse of the rest of your crew, tucked away in a circular side booth that the fishman led you to. Luffy brightened upon seeing you, waving you over with a hand so excitedly you feared it was about to flop around like rubber. Considering his powers, that was a more than likely situation, actually.
“Thank you,” you told the host, then turned towards your friends. “No food yet?”
“You didn’t miss much,” Usopp said, a little snicker in his voice. “Just the waiter getting our drink orders. He was flirting the heck outta Nami.”
“Oh?” you asked, a smile flickering up your lips. The only open space in the table was between Zoro and Nami—you gave Zoro a confused look, and he gestured down to his swords, which were caught in the ledge between the chair and the wall. You snickered. “Ro. You’re such a loser.”
“Shut up,” Zoro muttered, hand on your waist as you climbed over him to get to the empty seat. It stayed there for a moment longer, even after you’d arranged yourself in the seat, before he finally dropped his hand. Usopp made a face that you pointedly ignored.
“What’d you guys order?” you asked instead. If there’d been a menu available, the waiter had probably taken it away; still, there wasn’t much variety in the East Blue, so you could expect there’d be a lot of seafood and not much else.
“One of everything,” Luffy responded brightly. “So we’ll be able to try the whole menu!”
“You sure that’s a good idea, Cap?” you asked, brows raised. Luffy shrugged.
“I don’t see why not.”
“Quit it with the nickname,” Zoro muttered. Neither him or Nami had gotten any more receptive to it since you’d first started calling Luffy it. Usopp didn’t seem so keen on it either—if only because he fancied himself Captain Usopp. Luffy liked it, though, and that pleased you enough to keep using it.
“I’ll get you to start saying it eventually,” you teased, nudging Zoro in the arm. He shook his head, but there was a suggestion of a smile on his lips as he glanced away. “Just you wait.” You turned to Nami, eyes sparkling. “What about the waiter, though? Was he cute?”
Usopp laughed at that, and Nami gave you a disparaging look. “Come on,” she started. “Not you too. Zoro was all—”
The sound of footsteps cut off her speech, and you glanced up to find a lean, blond man pausing by the lip of your table. He held a silver plate, upon which perched a variety of different drinks—beers, milk, water. “Here are your drinks,” he said, voice lifting with an accent you couldn’t quite place. “And appetizers.”
He had just finished placing the last of the drinks balancing on his forearm on the table when the waiter glanced up and registered you sitting there. His expression instantly changed, the crease of his mouth softening into a pleasant smile, his previously-dull blue eyes bright and sparkling. “Well, hello there. An addition?”
“Yeah, sorry I’m late,” you said. The waiter flashed a grin, white ivories shining under the fluorescents.
“Oh, absolutely no problem. They say those who are late are fashionable, and you, madam, certainly fit the bill,” the waiter said. Your eyes widened, glancing over to Nami to find her shaking her head, but the waiter didn’t stop there. “I’m Sanji. What can I get for you to drink? We’ve got a wide selection of fine wines that might suit your taste.”
“Oh, um—” you started, glancing at the rest of your crew again. Usopp was hiding his snicker, and Nami was giving you a tired look. Assumedly this had been the man who’d tried it on her, too—to unfortunate ends, probably, considering how Nami was. Not that this would be any more effective on you. Your eye was already captured by a particular green-haired swordsman, after all. “I don’t really have anything in mind.”
Sanji looked pleased about that, clasping his hands together around his platter. “Ah, let me guess, then. A bayberry or red currant wine, perhaps? Fruity, tart, full of flavor.” he winked. “A feisty drink for a feisty girl.”
“Can’t say I’ve tried it, but sure,” you said, the faintest smile on your lips. “I’ll let you know how I like it.”
Sanji grinned, looking rather satisfied with that, a delighted little smile on his lips. “One red currant wine, then. I’ll have it right out. And would you also like to order a meal, or…” He glanced over at Luffy, presumably referencing your captain’s more-than-outrageous order. “Are you all set?”
“I think we’re set, thanks,” you assured, and Sanji nodded. He flashed you another bright smile before turning on his heel back off to the kitchen.
Usopp finally let out the laughter he’d been keeping in, choked sounds emitting from his throat as he thudded his chest with a fist. You rolled your eyes, but it was good-natured, letting Usopp laugh.
“Well, at least I’m not being singled out,” Nami said with a sigh, and you exchanged a sympathetic glance with her. She patted your hand comfortingly, then scrutinized the water Sanji had gotten her. “At least he didn’t put it in a flute.”
“Zoro, you’ve got competition!” Usopp called, still laughing from the entire ordeal. You glanced to your side, to where the swordsman sat. Zoro had stiffened sometime during the conversation, jaw clenched and arms wound tightly across his chest. He hadn’t even touched the beer that Sanji had set in front of him, eyes fixed carefully to a spot beside Luffy’s head and refusing to look over at you.
“He’s a waiter,” Zoro said crisply. “He buses tables for a living.” With that, he grabbed his bottle, popping the tab and taking a swig.
“I don’t know, man, did you see the way he took down those pirates?” Usopp turned to you, all excited again. “Oh, you missed this whole thing! Two pirates were fighting over a seat or something, and Sanji just demolished both of them! You would’ve loved it.”
“He is a really good fighter,” Luffy agreed. Their words did nothing but seem to annoy Zoro further.
“Can we not talk about the restaurant personnel? Surely you can think of more interesting topics of conversation.” His tone was sharp, and all icy, and you inched your hand closer to his leg to tap his thigh in question. He glanced down at your touch, but didn’t deign to say anything else. He just picked up his beer again, nursing it while the rest of the crew continued on with their conversation.
Despite Luffy changing the subject, Zoro didn’t speak, and you kept peeking glances over at him in concern. Your feelings for him had just continued developing ever since Syrup Village, although neither of you had reasonably talked about the closet incident since it’d happened. What with the reveal of Kuro and the escape from the marines and all, there hadn’t exactly been time to. But you’d been on good terms, and the actions he made around you—pressing a hand to your waist as you moved past him, turning towards you first mid-conversation, shoving you down when the marines had fired their first cannon at the Going Merry.
Before you could whisper to him and question what his silence was about, though, Sanji reappeared, carrying two platters filled to the brim with plates. They were laden with different types of meat and vegetables, sauces glinting under the light and hot steam still billowing.
He set the dishes on the table, somehow managing to arrange them so they all fit on the countertop. Sanji set down the last plate then turned to you, placing a glass and a bottle of dark crimson wine on the table in front of you. He had to lean over Zoro to reach, and Zoro flinched, but still didn’t say anything as Sanji uncorked the bottle and poured you a glass.
“Tell me what you think,” he said, all smiles again. “I’ll be embarrassed if it isn’t to your liking.”
You picked the glass up, swirling it carefully inside the glass before leaning down into the cup to take in a full sniff. You tilted your head back to take a small sip, moving the liquid around your mouth to fully savor the flavor before finally swallowing. The wine was sweet, light rather than rich with a delicate tartness that burst on your tongue. You glanced up just to see a giant grin had stretched up Sanji’s mouth, brightening his face up considerably.
“What?” you asked.
“Not often do I see a patron who knows how to taste wine properly,” Sanji answered with a little duck of his head. “A lady of class, I see. How do you like it?”
“Not too strong. I like the tartness,” you answered. “A good recommendation. Thank you.”
Sanji gave you a little bow, hand flourishing to the side as he dipped his head. “I live to serve.”
“Yeah, well, why don’t you serve me another beer?” Zoro said abruptly. Usopp coughed, and you could see Nami elbow him out of your peripheral vision. Luffy just looked confused.
Sanji’s face fell almost immediately after Zoro had spoken, his eyes flickering away from yours. “Of course. I’ll be right back,” he said, a tight smile at his lips. He ducked out of the booth, and Zoro let out an irritated noise, tongue flicking against from the roof of his mouth.
Usopp snorted, fully this time, and you turned to glance over at him—he and Nami were both hiding their gazes, though you could see smiles cracked along their lips.
Zoro glared at them. “Shut it.”
“Not saying anything!” Usopp said, though he half-hid behind Luffy like Zoro was going to lunge over the table to get to him. That didn’t seem… entirely unlikely, actually; Zoro’s right hand rested firmly on the handle of one of his swords, fingers ready to pull the blade at any second. You watched him out of the corner of your eye, wanting to say something. But not in front of everyone else. It wouldn’t be appropriate, you decided.
Eventually your meal wound down to an end. Zoro got less and less tense throughout it, though you were fairly certain that was due to the drinks he was having rather than any actual reassurance. Sanji, thankfully, came back with the bill in the middle of a conversation you really didn’t want to think about—Luffy and his marine grandfather was not something your mind wanted to dwell on—only for him to disappear again.
Just moments later, a man with a braided mustache came storming out of the kitchen. Luffy did some more of his Luffy nonsense, and, honestly—you were getting too tired about all of this to pay any close attention. You spared a glance over at Zoro again. His face was as blank as ever.
“Okay,” Usopp said slowly, a few delayed seconds after who’d undoubtedly been the head chef yanked Luffy out of his seat. “I’m ready to check out whatever’s outside. Let’s go.”
“What about Luffy?” you asked, perplexed.
“He’ll find his way out of that,” Nami said with a sigh. She stood up, knocking back the rest of her drink. Since she wasn’t exactly wrong, you got up, glancing over your shoulder at the last of the group that remained seated. “Zoro?”
Zoro was staring into his now-empty bottle of beer. He still seemed off, the line of his mouth creased downwards, jaw set tight. “Yeah,” he said finally, standing to his full height and slipping out of the booth. He offered you a hand, helping you down from your seat, but said nothing more.
The four of you headed out to the mouth of the Baratie fish, which boasted a bar decorated with neon lights. You found a place to sit by the fish’s bottom lip, and you turned in your seat, staring out at the sea. The water was dark with the night, peaceful ripples moving across the water that sent shimmering waves across the blue.
“I’m gonna get a drink,” Usopp said. “Come, Nami?”
“Huh?” Nami glanced up, and you turned to watch the exchange. “Oh, I’m okay, Usopp. Thanks, though.”
“No,” Usopp insisted, a smile still pasted on his face as he jerked his head, not very discreetly, in your and Zoro’s direction. Nami seemed to realize, then, eyes going wide before she got up from her seat.
“Actually, on second thought, I’ll join you,” she said, far smoother than Usopp had been. “God knows you don’t have any money to pay for a drink.”
She breezed past him, ignoring the offended gape Usopp left in her wake before he was scrambling to follow her. You turned your attention towards Zoro—he was lounging in the seat across from you, one hand on his swords with his legs crossed. “Hi,” you said carefully.
He stiffened. “Hey.”
You pursed your lips, mulling over the ways to go about the conversation before ultimately deciding to spit it out. “What’s wrong?” At his raised brow, you were prompted to continue— “During dinner. You were acting weird.”
Zoro shook his head, dropping his gaze from yours. You could see the faintest trace of freckles spattered along his cheeks, the yellow glow from the lanterns reflecting off his skin. “Nothing’s wrong. Just… the waiter.”
“The waiter,” you repeated. Zoro shifted, legs uncrossing and hand tightening around his swords again. His voice was low the next time he spoke, and you could barely hear him, having to lean forward to catch all of his words.
“He was flirting with you.”
Your breath hitched, but you tried to keep your tone casual. “He was flirting with Nami too,” you said, glancing up to meet his eyes. Zoro still wouldn’t meet your gaze, staring out into the East Blue behind you.
“That’s different.” Zoro’s eyes finally lifted, long eyelashes casting shadows on his cheeks as you met eyes. You shivered, gooseflesh suddenly prickling up everywhere on your skin—the back of your neck, up your spine, down your arms and legs. “I don’t like Nami.”
You tilted your head to the side, meeting his gaze. The words sent a little rush through you; a rush you got practically every time Zoro looked in your direction, actually, which was only a little bit annoying. The amount of influence a man you’d known for, comparatively, not that long had over you had you rolling your eyes all the time, but… you trusted Zoro at this point, as uncooperative as he and Nami had been throughout your entire journey.
“You’re jealous of a waiter.”
“Don’t—” Zoro sighed. “Don’t put it like that.”
“But it’s true. You’re jealous of a waiter,” you said, unblinking. Zoro rolled his eyes, teeth resting along his lower lip in an almost-bite. You snickered, tone sloping upwards to become more teasing, almost sarcastic. “How the mighty have fallen. From me practically begging you to say I looked nice in a dress to this.”
“Okay, that’s enough,” Zoro said, uncrossing his legs to lean over and press his hand over your mouth. You laughed, surprised, as he leaned over you, eyes sparkling at the reaction. “Not another word.”
He removed his hand, giving you a look. You betrayed his trust almost immediately. “Of a waiter.”
“Do you want me to put the hand back?” Zoro threatened, but you were full-on laughing by now, and he couldn’t do anything but watch. The sounds escaped from your mouth, ringing out in soft, lively hiccups. He shook his head, hand falling to his side as he watched you, a ghost of a smile tugging up the side of his mouth.
“Sorry, Ro,” you said, unable to suppress your grin even as your laughter died off. “It’s a little funny, you have to admit.”
“I’d like to hear you talk if someone was flirting with me,” Zoro muttered, so quiet you could barely hear. You had to stifle another laugh.
“Okay, well, unlike you, I don’t get territorial over people I haven’t even talked about my relationship with, but I appreciate it.” You nudged him. “It’s kinda cute.”
Zoro seemed lost in the first half of your sentence, and you could practically see the cogs whirring in his head. For a moment, you were worried that the closet had been a one-time thing—but no, he’d mentioned just earlier that he liked you, so clearly something else was the matter.
Your worries were answered in just another moment. “...We’re supposed to talk about our relationship?”
“Zoro.” You gave him a look of disbelief, forced to suppress another laugh, though this time it was out of incredulity. “Yes. Have you ever dated anyone before?”
Zoro made a face at that. “Keeping that to myself, thanks.” He dropped his chin, glancing down at where you were, still leaning over you so you were forced to crane your neck to stare up at him. He tilted his head to the side. “So what kind of talking are we supposed to be doing?”
“You know, the establishment of being exclusive; a cementation of our feelings; what the relationship entails; where we want it to go…” You paused, watching as his eyes flickered down your face. Your words were going in one ear and out the other. “You’re not listening at all, huh.”
“Not really,” Zoro said, not sounding very apologetic about it. His free hand came to cup the underside of your jaw, tilting your head up just so. “Is the talking really that necessary?”
You shrugged, trying to keep your cool. “Eventually.”
“Eventually,” he repeated, stretching out the syllables of the word as he quoted you. “So we can do it another day.”
You bit the inside of your cheek to hide your smile. “What were you thinking?”
Zoro was slotting his lips over yours before you could say another word, his fingers digging into the hinge of your jaw to allow him better access. You smiled into the kiss, lips curling upwards and open to let him lick into your mouth.
It wasn’t too risqué, but Zoro took your breath away all the same, an appreciative murmur low in his throat as he kissed you. One of your hands wrapped around his wrist, tugging him insistently downwards so you could get a better angle at his mouth, sucking gently at his lower lip. He nearly stumbled, losing his center of gravity before steadying himself, one hand coming to rest on your ribcage as the kiss deepened.
“Guys!” Usopp’s voice came somewhere from the right, high-pitched and excessively scandalized. You felt Zoro scoff into your mouth.
“You realize you’re in public, right?” Nami deadpanned, plopping down in the seat next to you. You nudged Zoro’s head away, his hand still on your jaw, half-craned over your figure. Nami looked unimpressed, eyes flickering from Zoro to you and back again. “Get a room. Go back to the Going Merry for all I care.” She extended a hand, placing a mug of beer on the table before you before handing you a matching one. “I got you drinks. You’re welcome.”
“Thanks,” you said, leaning up to press one final kiss on Zoro’s lips before turning to take the glass Nami had outstretched. Usopp groaned, covering his eyes with one hand and lifting a giant cup of something with the other. It was so big you wondered how he’d even been able to carry it. You eyed him. “You’re going to pass out drinking that.”
Usopp made a face at you. You just laughed.
“Sorted out your issues with the waiter, then?” Nami asked, turning to fix a knowing look on Zoro. He rolled his eyes, effortless as ever as he settled back down into his seat.
“Still don’t like the waiter.”
“You’re ridiculous,” you said, and Zoro scoffed, picking up the mug Nami had gotten him. You could see the smile behind the glass rim, though, even as he clearly tried to hide it, and matched it with one of your own.
Zoro ducked his head to smile into his beer. Usopp made a gagging sound. “God,” Nami muttered, but their criticisms might as well have been deaf to your ears by then.
All you could see was Zoro.

the monster trio (but make it highschool!au);
basically, what if these mf weren't illiterate?? highschool!au headcanons for the monster trio!!
m.list
luffy:
Tumblr media
- the class comedian (and doesn't know it) - like this man is out here just going about his day, doing stupid shit. he doesn't know why the class is laughing when the teacher asks him what he's doing and he says "eating. want some?" through a mouthful of doritos and a shit-eating grin - everyday, atleast once, he gets sent to the principle (the principle is garp lmao) and garp sends luffy back to the teacher because even he doesn't wanna deal with this precious himbo
- he runs track (and he is actually so good at it) - he's that one kid that has adhd and the whole school knows but he doesnt "adhd? what's that?" "you, luffy, that's you" - his homework? never complete; his handwriting? so shit it feels like ants crawling on paper; his uniform? something has to be missing always whether it's a button on his shirt, tie, belt, something. - one time he pulled up with one sock missing and when asked, he shrugged and said "sometimes things happen" - why did he say it like that??? - somehow, despite it all, he manages to pass (nami tutored him forcefully and made him pay her later) - best friends with the martial artist!zoro and cooking prodigy!sanji - nobody knows how these three are friends??? but they are ig - also, i headcannon him as the guy who is like 4 feet and after one summer comes back stretched out (hehe, pun intended) - always so kind to others even if he doesn't know them, always willing to help freshmen out and run errands for you if you need help - nobody knew he is related to his older brothers (ace, sabo) "how are you their brother??" "idk? how am i??" - just the bestest boy ever, golden retriever energy all day every day no matter what universe it is
zoro:
Tumblr media
- you take one look at this mf and you think, ah here is the classic delinquent, stick-up-his-ass martial artist and you couldnt be more wrong - he is never dressed right but that's cause he doesn't know how to tie a tie and listen if he had the willpower to find the right socks at 7 in the morning, he will - he is just an incompetent fool, trust me 😭😭 - gets late on the regular cause he always takes the wrong turn - the one "jock" who isn't anything like a stereotypical jock? like he hangs out with soon-to-be valedictorian nami, idiot luffy, theatre kid!ussop and cook!sanji - nobody can understand how this friend group was formed??? - actually gets asked out a decent amount of times and always says "nah, im good" and walks away to his friends - people are starting to suspect if he's dating luffy from how hard their bromance is going "zolo!!! gooDMORNING!!" luffy yells as he launches onto zoro in the middle of the hallway at 8:03 am on a random tuesday zoro casually drops his backpack to catch luffy "morning" zoro replies as if it's casual behaviour - the amount of trophies the school has in his name is insane (nation level martial artist, roronoa zoro) - he is actually decent at school, he is just average and he's fine by it he doesn't give all that much of a shit in the academic sphere - casually pulls up to the parents-teacher meet with thE FUCKING WORLD REKNOWNED MARTIAL ARTIST, DRACULE MIHAWK??? "i see he passed in all his exams. how wonderful, zoro. let's leave now." "aight" - he doesn't even think twice when asked if he knows mihawk, he's just like "yeah that's my dad what about him?" - a certified dumbass in every universe
sanji:
Tumblr media
- listen to me this mf went to masterchef junior and fucking won and people only know this cause the school hyped him up and not because he wanted people to know "omg sanji did you actually win-" "no that was my twin brother sanjo, please leave me alone" - actually prim and properly dressed, shows up at time everyday and gives in all of his assignments and submissions well before the due date (he is partially responsible for keeping zoro and luffy on track) - he was the one making cupcakes when nami was organizing a fundraiser for a nearby orphanage, he was the one who baked cookies cause sabo wanted to hand them out on his last day of school, he was the one who baked cakes for his classmate's surprise birthday party - rumor has it if you get on good terms with sanji, a mysterious box of homemade chocolate will be there in your locker the next day - despite all the hype he has, mf still gets no girls - like luffy, he is insanely kind to those who need help - has gotten almost suspended once for beating up a senior year kid for bullying a freshmen (luffy and zoro just stood by and laughed as that kid got his ass handed to him) - he is the son of THE FUCKING OWNER OF BARATIE, A FIVE STAR MICHELLIN RESTAURANT THAT IS FREQUENTED BY CELEBRITIES ALL THE TIME "omg omg sanji is it true that the rock visited your restaurant last night?!" "yeah, his daughter wanted to eat my tiramisu, she's really sweet" - so chill always (but simultaneously losing his shit) - the kinda person you'd love hanging out with - as i said, in any universe, he is still single (feed him the rizz rizz fruit pls)
a/n: tried something new tell me do you like it or love it? m.list

completely unrelated thought to literally anything i've been doing today:
canon Sanji getting swapped with a Sanji from a genderswap AU. key point is that everyone's p much the same personality wise
there are crises going on. but mostly for canon Sanji lmao
this includes:
Luffy still likes to walk around w/ an open shirt
Franky also still likes to walk around w/ an open shirt
Usopp, guess what, also likes to walk around w/ an open shirt
granted, Usopp at least wears crop tops sometimes
Brook looks pretty much the same except for speaking mannerisms / voice pitch; startles the hell out of Sanji bc he keeps expecting it to be his Brook until a Skull Joke comes out of those chuckling teeth
The knee jerk reaction to Robin and Nami keeps crossing wires- one moment Sanji will just register a guy in his peripheral but not who he's speaking to and cuss and complain and shit. then the realization will kick in and he'll be caught up trying to apologize, but then wondering if he does need to apologize because uh, Nami and Robin are guys here right?? and they're not his Nami and Robin, but at the same time he can't just be rude to Nami and Robin-
he ends up staring into space for a while thinking in circles about it
Zoro is now of the gender he typically dotes on
"H-Hey, Moss-chan-"
"Don't call me that"
"Right. You want a smoothie?"
"I'm not gonna fuck you."
Usopp is the easiest to dote on, followed by Chopper, Franky, and Luffy. funny thing is, aside from Zoro, none of them have complained about/refused said doting. Sanji is reassuring himself that his list doesn't mean anything. he's not falling for Usopp just because of a pair of tits. that'd be ridiculous. after all his Usopp has got plenty big tits already-
he slams his head into a wall trying to forget that thought
also. he has no outlet for any frustration/anger/overwhelming feelings because he's got his code of chivalry thing. so he can't fight Zoro and he doesn't want to fight Robin or Nami. he starts smoking more to compensate, but then he either runs out or Chopper intervenes and gets him to promise to limit his use
in short. suffering.
This Nami and Robin do notice though & while Nami very much does not want to fight Sanji on account of, yknow, not wanting any broken bones or terrible injuries, Robin on the other hand-
He knew it'd help Sanji and it'd be nice to have a sparring partner to practice the more deadly things he can do on someone who can handle it, so he's kinda like "if it'll help, i don't mind sparring"
Sanji is caught between "oh fuck yes, finally someone to kick" and "I CANT HURT ROBIN-KUN"
the sparring ends up very pathetic on Sanji's side of things- think his fight with Kalifa but without him trying to bluff and looking openly stressed- Usopp listens to Sanji's woes about it later while she tinkers on inventions lmao
Usopp is also oddly clingy with Sanji, more so than his own Usopp. However, Sanji doesn't even bother thinking about it, just happy to soak up all the affection. He always has some sort of crisis thinking about his own Usopp later though.
Zoro, and I cannot stress this enough, is a woman. a buff, sweaty, mossball of a woman.
so yeah, suffering.
fem sanji, on the other hand:
having the time of her life
proud bisexual woman going "dear god, so many hot guys- wait shit, is that mosshead"
starts getting "overly friendly" with Usopp- laying his head in her lap, playing with his hair, carrying him around, calling him pet names, making him special snacks, etc.
everyone else puts it together real quick, except Usopp. who doesn't realize the answer until fem Sanji gives him a goodbye kiss on the cheek before going to prep for dinner
The answer: fem Usopp and fem Sanji are dating
fem Sanji: he's Usopp, therefore he's my partner in this flipped world, therefore I gotta treat him right while his own Sanji isn't here
Usopp wants to tell her the truth. but also. doesn't.
he is a mix of guilt and happiness every time he doesn't speak up and gets some gesture of love from her
in conclusion: one way or another, there is suffering all around <3

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH hi how are you!
I was rereading SSSBMTY for like the 10th time and Ive been dying to know that if Robin is really the only one who knows that Ed died somehow because bestie told her- but like did Robin take that seriously?? Did Robin hear “oh yeah I was the only one who died teehee” and took it in a “mental death” or a “physical death” way. If she took it in a mental perspective which I guess makes the most since does Robin realize the implications of Ed “dying” and somewhere in her head is super worried for Ed?
Some people in the story know about the “Buster Call” that TOTALLY (didn’t) happened but we’ve only really seen Robin, Zoro and Nami question it… I guess kinda Law with him comparing a Robin and Ed but not intense questioning. and now that Ed has done their screaming match with Kidd does Kidd and/or Killer have any suspicions of what they actually meant by being so connected to death???
AHHH ED YOUR KILLING ME NO PUN INTENDED?! I like death metaphors if you cannot tell- I want to squeeze you to get this information out.. is everyone just not questioning Ed’s weird background and possible death that they haven’t been super secret about?!?!
I wrote this while having a brain freeze bc of a smoothie
Reading SSSBMTY 10 times is crazy I hope you know that. I love you but I hope you know that.
When they're all on the Tower of Law Robin makes it clear she took it very metaphorical, like she interpreted that as Ed intentionally viewing the person they were before the 'Buster Call' as someone who was dead and gone and not who they were anymore. Honestly I think Robin took that and what Ed said after about them both belonging to the crew as Ed somehow just being better adjusted than her, which is fucking hilarious if you think about it.
I've always had the thought floating around that because Luffy got mad at Nami way back at the beginning when she tried to ask Ed about it she took that as 'no one ever ask Ed anything EVER' and has just instilled that idea whenever they get a new crewmate lmao. Like she sits them down and goes "Ok so Ed is weird and has terrible things in their past but Do Not Ask Questions if you think the dramatic violin music will start playing, ok?" even if that's Not the Case.
That isn't confirmed canon I'm just putting that out there. You gotta wait and see if I write that into the story lmao.
Tbh Zoro doesn't give a shit about whatever happened to Ed because he thinks they've got — if not a good handle on it — at least a decent ability to see help/comfort when they need to. His ass has seen them cope worse with things that actively happen around them then whatever was going on with the 'Buster call,' and is content to leave it alone unless Ed directly asks him for help. (Which is also very funny if you think about Ed's 'if you ask I will tell you EVERYTHING' policy.)
Now with Kid and Killer it's more so they have no idea what is up with this weird little guy but it seems like they've got some, uh, ISSUES with the people around them or they themselves being hurt/killed by someone with a dream and no regard for casualties. Wonder how that will develop if they hear about the 'Buster Call' thing or any other weird rumor they might have accidentally sent floating around.
Overall Ed speaks in weird backwards metaphors enough there's a chance no one has ever taken a single word they've said at face value, so.... yeah.
I hope your brain is ok xoxo

Ok I just read your story about (y/n) making pasta for killer and can I request one kinda similar with kid.
Scenario being after a battle and a bit tired (y/n) is making a late night meal while everyone's sleeping and kid come wondering it. (´◡`) thank you!
a/n - I’m just gonna make this but with luffy as well 💜💜
Warnings ⚠️ - fluff, g/n reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is there a time that luffy isn’t in the kitchen scavenging for food lmao
It was late, the only ones who were awake were you and maybe Zoro who was on night patrol. That being said, he might’ve dozed off as well. You decided to make some pasta, even after Sanji’s cooking, you were still hungry. Right as you were boiling the noodles, you heard footsteps above you. It was as if Luffy awakened from the smell of pasta noodles.
He went downstairs, rubbing his eyes as he stared at you. His hair was messy, and he only had his trousers on, his chest vulnerable to the cold breeze of the sea. “Hey luffy, couldn’t sleep?” You asked curiously as you started to grate the cheese into a separate pan. “I smelled food!” He replied, his eyes sparkling as he bounded over to you. He sniffed the cheese and you swore he started drooling right then and there. You slapped his hands away, making him pout at you, crossing his arms like a baby.
“Don’t eat it yet- dummy.” You replied, continuing to try and make the sauce while defending the food from Luffy. It was quite a difficult task- swatting hands away while stirring? It was hard enough to deal with Luffy’s food obsession without doing anything else. He had almost no patience when it came to waiting for food, especially if you or Sanji were making it.
“Is it done yet?...” He asked, groaning as he melted into your shoulder with a groan. His stomach was already growling even though he ate a huge snack just an hour or two ago. “It would go by faster if you helped.” You replied, bonking his head with your fist.
He bounced to his feet, eagerly waiting for you to tell him what to do to help. Anything to make the food ready faster! “Here, we have to mix the noodles with the sauce, so stir it slowly while I pour them in.” You said, taking the pot and adding the noodles. Surprisingly, Luffy was a pretty decent cook! (If you counted literally just stirring the pot as cooking skills, then he was pretty good)
You poured some of the salted pasta water with the sauce, it always tasted better that way :) “Is it done yet?” How many times has he asked this? You didn’t know, but finally you had the answer he’d been waiting for. “Yeah, it’s done.” You replied as he jumped up and down with excitement.
You poured some onto his plate and he immediately took a bite. He had sparkles in his eyes as he continued to stuff his face with the pasta. “Mffm! Sho GHOOD!” You could barely understand him with his cheeks stretched out with pasta, but the message came across clearly enough. You loved it when Luffy was happy like this, and you’d gladly make pasta for him anytime he wanted.
“Thank you y/n! You’re the best.” He said, kissing your cheek before going back to the mountain of food on his plate. The food managed to disappear in a matter of seconds, you swore he had beaten a record of some sort. You patted his head softly before saying softly, “I love you luffy.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was a really late night, after a long battle too. Everyone on the victoria punk was either sleeping or receiving treatment for their wounds. Not you. You were in the kitchen, fixing up some pasta for yourself since you thought after a long fight, this was a nice reward for your efforts. Pasta was such a nostalgic food that you ate when you were younger, it never failed to bring you comfort even on hard days.
Kidd was wandering around, looking for you, only to find you in the kitchen. “Oi, what are you doing?” He asked gruffly, standing behind you with a tired look on his face. His hair was down, his goggles around his neck. His red hair draped down the sides of his face, his intense eyes now softening. “I’m making pasta, want some?” You asked softly. He turned away with a grunt, he didn’t want to admit he was absolutely starving. Not because of his pride, but because he didn’t want to make you work harder for him.
Stomachs don’t lie. When his stomach growled, there was such a long silence, and all you could hear were the pasta noodles boiling softly in the background. Kid’s face turned a bright red, even brighter than his hair as he clutched his stomach with his hand. You struggled not to laugh, “I’ll make some for you too. Can you help me?” You asked him. He nodded and tried his best to follow your instructions.
“Yeah, just grate the cheese.” You said kindly, showing him how to use the block of parmesan. He ended up breaking the entire block in half by accident, his hand was too strong. “That’s alright, we can just use it like that.” You replied, patting his head, earning yet another death glare with red cheeks from the tulip head.
The pasta was almost done! Now to just mix the sauce with the noodles, that was the easiest part! You had your hand guiding his as he stirred the pot as gently as he could. If you squinted, Kid had a soft smile on the corners of his lips, he enjoyed doing this with you. “All done!” You said happily, crossing your arms before serving it onto two plates for the both of you.
He noticed you gave him plenty more than yourself which made him scoop more onto your plate with a huff. “Don’t give me more, dumbass.” He said gruffly, sitting down right next to you. “Kid, there’s literally the entire pot full of pasta, I can get more if I want.”
Both of you ate in silence, but Kid now found a new comfort in his rather- uncomfortable life. Making pasta with you.

Okay I actually have a few extra headcanons for this au (and the little ficlet I’m writing for you), so take them into account when reading lol (hope you don’t mind)
Zoro (when in human form) has two pairs of canines (not one, the extra pair sits behind the first. The first (normal) pair are quite large, and sometimes stick out of his mouth), and his teeth are all unnaturally sharp. Also, slit pupils because I said so. He also has tiger stripe prints on his back, although he normally excuses them as tattoos. Ears are slightly pointed, fingers more nimble, you know the drill. Moves and jumps way faster/higher than a normal person has any right to. Nails are similar to cats claws (as in, attached to the bone), and are incredibly sharp. The Tiger form is massive, and makes him look like some kind of spirit (sword + massive + green = not normal lol). Scars and the such transfer to each form. Side note, Zoro doesn’t really feel pain (or temperature for that matter), so it’s harder for chopper to treat him, because how does one treat something when the subject can’t feel it? Zoro is also really intelligent and perceptive, it just doesn’t seem that way because he has zero fucks left to give.
Hope your day is good my guy <3
IM SHAKING YOU SO HARD. WHAAAAAAT THE HELL THIS IS SO SO GOOD ALREADY.
i’m sat here hunched over my phone like 👀👀 I’M SO MAD I DIDN’T THINK OF THE SLIT PUPILS FIRST I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THAT and yes to the pointy teeth. he’s a bitey bastard with his crew already but he’s entirely capable of ripping someone’s throat out with those. and the TIGER STRIPES your brain is so HUGE. massive, dare i say. the increased speed, strength, agility— it’s not obvious when you don’t look closely but once you do it’s easy to see that he’s Not All Human. but i think his crew is almost a safety barrier against people reading too much into it, because zoro bickers and banters and lets them hang all over him, and it puts strangers at ease yk?
HE’S DEFINITELY BEEN MISTAKEN AS SOME KIND OF SPIRIT AT SOME POINT. THE WHOLE CREW GOT A KICK OUT OF IT a village thought zoro was a divine guardian or something and the entire crew got treated like royalty. usopp felt a little bad about not saying anything but the others were Capitalising and zoro was living his best life LMAO
and omg. i hate it when people pass zoro off as dumb or stupid because he is a dumbass but he’s not Dumb. he literally created his own sword style. his battle instincts are honed nearly sharper than his claws. he sits in the back of a room and seems antisocial but he is clocking EVERYTHING; who’s coming in and out of all the exits, where his crewmates are, any potential threats etc etc (also figures out exactly what booze they have by smell alone but let’s not enable him shall we)— the point is, he is intelligent, perceptive and he doesn’t seem like it, which makes him all the more dangerous. people look at him and see a blockhead with three swords, and the next thing they know they’re pinned to the ground with claws in their chest and fangs at their throat. he’s vicious and i love it.
ANYWAY I’M SO EXCITED TO READ THE FICLET YOU HAVE NO IDEA I’M DOING LAPS RN. this was so enjoyable to read already i literally can’t wait for the whole thing. HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY ANON 🫶🏼🫶🏼

🐖 for nyle? he still around?
Oh man what a throwback‼️
He's been in stasis while I've been developing Dead Wood but rest assured he's not retired just yet!
More about this Deep Cut Character below:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
^ This is Nyle Clervey! (2019) ^ This is Nyle as drawn by @/voyvoyz
✨- How did you come up with the OC’s name?
For his first name I gave him the "boy version" of my deadname (first time experimenting w/ aliases) and his last name derived from Frankenstein's Henry Clerval. I was in 6th grade at the time and incorrectly assumed Henry was a black character for some reason which is wild considering his pro-colonization stance but whatever
🌼 - How old are they? (Or approximate age range)
The amount of notes I kept on his timeline is insane. To keep a long story short, he's from an alt timeline where prohibition wasn't lifted until the 1940's instead of the 30's. (There's also aliens in this setting!) He was born in 1915 but the oldest I've ever drawn/written him is in his early 30s
🌺- Do they have any love interest(s)?
His wonderful wife Miyoko!!!! When Nyle met her, she was an acrobatist for a traveling circus. He was smitten at first sight and made a point to talk to her after every show. As soon as he found out she wasn't happy there, he promised to help her escape - making good on said promise the very next night. They were unofficially married about a month later.
🍕 - What is their favorite food?
Coddies!! sometimes referred to as "the poor man's crab cake"
little deep fried cod patties made w/ mashed potatoes, eggs, salt n pepper, onions, + crushed up saltines. They're simple to make and cheap to buy! He would even use em as bait for fishing 🎣
💼 - What do they do for a living?
Officially, Nyle helps run a sleepy bookstore in East Harlem called "The Open Book" & plays trumpet for jazz clubs on the weekends. Off the record, he's a bootlegger and co-owner of the speakeasy hidden underneath the shop.
🎹 - Do they have any hobbies?
When not practicing his scales, his favorite hobby is having book club with his wife and coworkers. Sometimes the club really is about reading books, other times it's code for drinking in the speakeasy's off hours (and attempting to read a book together afterwards)
🎯 -What do they do best?
While most would call him a talented liar, Nyle insists that it's just good improv
🥊 -What do they love to do? What do they hate to do?
He loves music more than anything (except his wife), jumping from the fiddle to the trumpet in hopes of raising his chances of joining a jazz band. His favorite musicians + greatest inspirations are Duke Ellington and Louie Armstrong
Nyle hates wasting time. He's not a stickler when it comes to time management, he just hates being held up when he has a task in mind. If he sees a long line, he'll find a way to cut around it.
❤️ - What is one of your OC’s best memories?
The summer of 1925 - the last one he'd spend in Virginia. Stealing berries from neighbor's bushes, shooting cans with his slingshot, sneaking into the cinema with friends to watch 'Don Q: Son of Zoro', and even learning how to drive! (he very slowly crashed his father's jalopy into the big tree in their front yard)
It will forever remain a fond summer in his memory
✂️ - What is one of your OC’s worst memories?
February, 1942 - he'd planned a wonderful valentine's day for Miyoko, but had been drafted just three days before he got to surprise her. They weren't sending married men over at first, so he'd thought he'd evaded it. When he told her the news, Miyoko swore that she would wait for him to come back.
He was abducted on his way to bootcamp and doesn't know how long he's been gone or how long she's been waiting. It eats at him every day he spends away from her
🧊 - Is their current design the first one?
lmao not at alllll
Originally he was just a silly little guy w/ emoticons for a face + a cowboy hat. He slowly became more as I added more characters & started high school my hyperfixation on 1920s-1940's social life
🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?
Wander over Yonder!! It had just come out and I also wanted to have a silly protagonist who went on space adventures and embodied the boundless joy of the indomitable human spirit!! Nyle did unfortunately get a little more sad as time went on, but he's still optimistic!
🌂 - What genre do they belong in?
Historical Fiction! Episodic Sci-Fi Comedy against his will
💚 - What is your OC’s gender identity and sexuality?
Cis + Het! A rarity!
🙌 - How many sibling does your OC have?
In his first draft he had 2 - Ian (older) & Oscar (younger)
I shelved Oscar for the new timeline, but am still on the fence w/ Ian
Don't know how to integrate him just yet
🍎 - What is the OC’s relationship w/their parents like?
Nyle adores his parents! His mother was a schoolteacher and his father was a deliveryman/rumrunner. He idolized his father and believed the tall tales (and true stories) he'd spin for him.
He died in the winter of 1926 due to influenza, leading Nyle to form an even closer and protective bond with his mother
He'd do absolutely anything for her
🧠 - What do you like most about the OC?
funnily enough, the research that went into making him
I used to get "into headspace" when writing for him as a fun exercise and a lot of that involved pouring over archived letters/ledgers and historical antecedentes while listening to Harlem Renaissance Jazz
I know that may sound boring as hell but rest assured I had hours of endless entertainment diving down those rabbit holes.
✏️ - How often do you draw/write about the OC?
Not really that often now a days - this ask is the first time I'd properly written about him in a few years
💎 - Do you ever see yourself killing off the OC?
I did at one point, but it went poorly with test audiences so I scrapped it. Until I find a good reason to do it, I don't think I will.
💀 - Does your OC have any phobias?
That when he finally finds a way to get back to earth, Miyoko's corpse will be there; still waiting for him.
🍩 -Who is your OC’s arch-nemesis or rival?
Amylla! "huh??" i hear you ask "just how old is this woman??" Don't you know you can't ask that
She's technically after the aliens that abducted him, but the misery of being separated from his wife is too delicious for her to pass up.
She is the only person he's ever truly despised.
🎓 - How long have you had the OC?
Since middle school!
🍥 - What age were you when you created the OC?
11 or 12 (baby....)

DRESSROSA
When they set foot in the square, the group was left speechless. Mesmerized, even. The colours, the arches, the little tables outside the bars and restaurants, the stores, the smiling and laughing people. It all looked straight out of a fairytale.
Franky tilted his huge head. "This doesn't look like a place that needs saving," he mumbled. Zoro shrugged at his side. He wasn't exactly surprised to be looking at a perfect façade.
Meanwhile, Lucy was looking at the beautiful dancers in long dresses — like Sanji —, wondering whether holding a rose in their mouth could have been somewhat stingy, and only looked away when something stepped over her foot, making her hiss.
"Look where the fuck you're —." She stopped in her tracks, her mouth falling open. The wooden soldier stumbled on his own feet and turned to look at her in mechanic movements. But that wasn't the weirdest part. The weirdest part was the muffled 'sorry' that came out of its mouth.
Lucy clutched Luffy's arm, incapable of reacting. "Fuck my life," she declared, in the stiffest way possible, "that toy has an accent."
Luffy laughed excitedly, basically jumping on the spot and Franky put a hand on his shoulder to keep him down. "Look!" he exclaimed, pointing at other little toys walking around and talking, "There's more!"
"Well," said Zoro, more horrified than he liked to admit, "that is so fucking normal, right?"
Kin'emon did nothing but shake his head. "Let's move along, Zoro-dono" he muttered, "This place is evil."
Sanji kept staring at the dancers. "I disagree."
Franky looked around before clutching on the twins's shoulders. "Listen, you two. Doflamingo said he has something Luffy wants — he doesn't know about you, Lucy, so you'll have to be..."
"Socially inappropriate?" she snickered.
He raised his eyebrows in an unimpressed look, even as he was trying to hold back a laugh. "The opposite, today," he kept going, "Discreet. Just discreet. He resigned but if the Marines get involved, you'll be in danger as well." Then he shook Luffy who appeared not to be listening, as always. "As for you, don't do anything stupid. Shock factor, remember? We can't be discovered until it's time."
The twins stared at him, silent.
The vein on Franky's forehead popped out. "Understood?" he stressed.
"Yeah, yeah," they said in unison.
He gritted his teeth. "Super. Super fucking babysitting."
Lucy turned around. Something wasn't right. "Where's Zoro?" she asked, "And Sanji? And Kin'emon?"
Franky frankly wanted to disappear right until he spotted Kin'emon running. "There" he exclaimed, swarmed in relief, "Let's follow him — discreetly."
"Sorry to break your bubble, Franky, but you're anything but discreet," giggled Luffy. Lucy covered her mouth to keep herself from snorting as she affectionately took the cyborg's arm. Secretly and very deep down, Franky was happy to be the goddamned babysitter.
"Toys here walk around like people" he scoffed, "No one's looking at me." Given the amount of time he spent on his new gear, it did bother him a significant bit.
They found one of the three missing pieces after five minutes. Kin'emon was waiting for them at the bottom of a dark stair, tapping his foot nervously. Lucy thought that being a samurai was probably quite the definition of a stressful job — especially with the whole thing of "samurais are never hungry" he was going on about on Punk Hazard. The whole time she was on the Sunny, she kept feeding him and Momonosuke the sweets and snacks Sanji made for her.
"Oi, Kin'emon," Luffy called, "Where are the others?"
"Zoro-dono got away and Sanji-dono followed him so he wouldn't get lost by himself and I followed them both so that we would know where they were and I —." Kin'emon took a deep breath, completely out of oxygen. "As I was saying, I wanted to warn you but the cook is really fast and I didn't want to lose his sight."
"Breathe, my guy" chuckled Lucy with a shake of her head, "So, where are Zoro and the pretty one?"
Both Luffy and Franky shot her an incredulous look. They found themselves wondering whether Lucy knew how to strike the swordsman nerves or if she just liked to be a little mean.
"In the pub, back there. Zoro-dono insisted we go in when we found him. Sanji-dono is inside with him."
Franky sighed. "It's not the time for a drink." But they all went in anyway. If Sanji had followed Zoro without at least trying to kick his head away, then there was probably a decent reason behind all of that.
As soon as they walked in, the three spotted Zoro and Sanji sat at a table, sunglasses and fake beard fixed almost religiously on their face. Weirdly enough, they weren't fighting. They sat at the table with them and Franky decided they didn't need scolding for the moment. Lucy took a seat between the swordsman and Luffy, pretending not to notice when Zoro scanned her whole body behind the sunglasses.
"So, why are we here?" Luffy asked.
"The shitty mosshead felt something, he said" Sanji explained, a critical tone in his voice, "About the blind guy."
"I didn't know you liked older men, Zoro," Lucy teased, staring straight ahead.
"Shut up, brat" he seethed, "I know what I felt — that guy has... something."
"No, he's right," said Luffy, almost casually, "I just don't understand why the sight doesn't match."
The blind man, that was now being fooled by some pirates at the roulette wheel, had sent a rush down Zoro's spine when he first saw him. Yet, he didn't seem capable of looking after himself, let alone powerful. He just couldn't understand why he was pretending to be weak.
Meanwhile, Luffy was looking over at the scene, trying to keep his cool. And the best way to do that was talking to his sister. He grabbed her hand, popping her knuckles just like he used to do when they were kids.
"Did you ever see Dadan again? After you left, I mean."
Lucy subconsciously smiled at the thought. "Yeah, I did — Garp brought me to visit her a little after you left" she murmured, "Then I visited her on my own after... you know, after everything happened."
Luffy's grip tightened. "Is she okay?" he mumbled. He missed Dadan. She wasn't always nice and patient but, to be fair, he and his siblings were always difficult kids. And, no matter what, she always took care of them. Dadan was their mother.
Lucy's cleared her throat. She didn't want to think about the way they crumbled in each other's arms, mourning Ace and a life that was long lost. She forced out a smile and hoped that the tricks of time would've prevented Luffy from noticing. "It's Dadan" she chuckled, "She's tough, you know that."
Luffy shot her a neutral look. The tricks of time couldn't possibly work with him. Not when it came to his twin sister. He got up from his chair and ruffled her hair, then stared straight ahead, at the blind man. "I'm going to do something about it."
So, Zoro watched Luffy intervene, incapable as he was of minding his own business as always, and the blind man proved himself to be way stronger than everyone thought him to be by unleashing a crushing force that sent the other pirates plummeting into a hole.
Yet, Zoro didn't quite care. While Luffy insisted to know the man's name, Zoro could only look at the curious expression on Lucy's face, as her previous words rang through his head."You're gonna get attached," she had told him. And he feared that, oh so much. He couldn't help but listening to her and Luffy's conversation about that woman, Dadan. He knew about her already but he listened anyway. He was already painfully aware of his own restlessness in knowing her.
And then he snapped back to reality once he turned to look for his sword. "What. The. Fuck."
Lucy furrowed her eyebrows. "Your sword is running away."
"It's the fairies," a customer casually said, "you better catch that sword before you never see it again."
And Zoro began to run.
"Oi, mosshead!" Sanji shouted, "I told you, you can't run around by yourself."
"Why not?" asked Lucy, an amused tone in her voice.
Franky groaned, ready to follow. "He'll get lost."
Lucy's eyes lit up maliciously. "That won't be an issue" she beamed, "I'm going with him."
Luffy tilted his head. He wasn't sure whether they were finally getting along or his sister was out for revenge. The difference was always ambiguous on her part. "Alright" he said, "Be careful."
"Yes, Mister Captain. Whatever you say is law. Will do. Yessir." Luffy rolled his eyes, yet not being able of holding back a chuckle and Lucy gave him a thumbs up. Then, she planted a big kiss on his cheek, right before slapping the back of his head and running away between snickers. "Stupid," he yelled after her, almost wholeheartedly.
Lucy caught up with Zoro quicker than she had imagined. He was on the roof, being thrown around — apparently, by nothing. "Well, isn't this interesting?"
"Fucking quit it!" he was screaming, "What the — give Shisui back or I swear." Before he could finish, he was thrown off the roof, falling helplessly to the ground. At least, that was what was going to happen if Lucy hadn't used her power. A haze had formed under Zoro's suspended body, almost like a turbine. His eye widened, looking for her only to spot her on the same roof he fell from, Shisui in one hand and the little creature in the other. She looked immaterial. Mystical. Half tempested wind, half woman.
"Your powers..." he murmured.
"Yeah," she cut short, a sly smile on her lips, "The wind-wind fruit — everything is really interesting. Are you alright?"
Zoro looked away. "Tsk. I'm fine. Put me down."
She rolled her eyes, quite literally evaporating whatever was holding him up. "Your manners are terrible."
Zoro landed on his feet and gave her a critical look with his sane eye. "Give me a break, woman."
She tilted her head, quickly disappearing into a turbine and reappearing in front of Zoro, her power still keeping the little fairy still and silent. It was almost like she was surrounded by a wind storm. "You could at least thank me, you know that?"
For some reason, in her voice, Zoro recognized a threat. "Thank you" he said, as neutrally as possible, "Happy?"
She shrugged. "No. Now let's question this little urchin."

"He kept tabs on us the whole time" she seethed, "It was all a fucking trick."
Zoro clenched his jaw, peeking at the vast group of Tontattas that surrounded them. He was thankful they were too busy talking to Franky and Usopp about their plan to take down the factory. He needed to calm down and take matters in his own hands. "You heard what Franky said — Luffy is fighting in the pit."
Lucy's eyes grew dark. "Yes. For our brother's fruit. It's kind of ironic that he's fighting for it under my name."
Her tone was anything but ironic. Murderous, perhaps. Ironic was far from it. "I say we go and help him from outside" said Zoro, calmly enough, "If they're keeping tabs on him, then they know about his identity, no matter what the public of the pit calls him."
Lucy nodded slowly and stared straight into his eye. This time, Zoro could sense panic. "They can't hurt him."
"Luffy's strong" he muttered after a while, "He'd be offended, the way you worry about him."
She took a deep breath and did something unexpected, something so insignificant Zoro felt ridiculous noticing. Her knee touched his. It did not brush against it, no. It touched it and stayed there. She was looking for contact, again. It almost bothered him. Almost. Yet, it was a chance. The perfect opening for a deadly strike. The perfect chance to bathe a blade in blood. Just like in battle.
"The last time I was told to trust a brother's strength," she murmured, "I cried on his dead body."
Zoro tilted his head. He realised: she was right after all. In her mind, Luffy was in deadly danger. She wasn't so far from the truth. Before he could stop himself, Zoro stroke her cheek. Lucy froze on the spot, her body stiffening for a moment, only to relax slowly as she gazed at his face. "You're a challenging person," she said.
The swordsman lightly scoffed. His hand made way on the back of her neck, only to sway back on her cheek and finally retreat, back down at his own side. "This is the second time you tell me."
Lucy's lips formed a strange smile. "It's true — you care and then you don't. You are rude and unpleasant and then you aren't. You are a lot of things at the same time."
Zoro blinked. He felt... seen. And it was almost a bad thing. Almost. "You speak as if you're easy to be around."
"Are you calling me difficult?" she casually asked.
Yet, Zoro knew she wasn't casual about it. "Yes" he said, "But it's not really negative, if you go beneath the surface."
This time, it was Lucy who initiated contact. She took his hand in hers, her fingertips brushing on the back of it, tracing the scars and the lines of his palm. Zoro kept himself from clenching his fist closed. The pleasure of her touch made him want to pull his hand back. Almost unbearable like holding his palm above a flame. Almost.
"And what's beneath the surface?"
"I still don't know. I guess you aren't the only one who's gon' get to know me."
Her eyes lit up again. Zoro couldn't say in what way. "It appears I'm closer to the aim of my projects."
"Don't think me easy, doll" he scoffed, his hand grabbing hers in a grip, "You're not even close."
She narrowed her eyes. Again, Zoro couldn't say. "Well," she spelled slowly, "we'll see about that." Then, she got up harshly. "Let's go, I'm sick and tired of waiting."
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚✧*:・゚✧✧・゚: *✧・゚:* *:・゚
Zoro wasn't used to be deconcentrated during battle. It was not a feeling he knew. But, as he was fighting, he kept thinking, "Just once. I'll look just once". And he allowed himself to look — to look at her. He found excuses for himself, as he watched her disappear in turbines of wind and reappearing at her enemies' backs, slaying them with one swift of her swords. He told himself that looking wasn't a big deal, since the enemies weren't that strong. So, he allowed himself another glance, as she pushed back with the skill of her swords alone. He thought her style was fascinating. Alluring. Unethical. Deprived of honour yet fierce. He found himself staring at the way she would cut them behind the knee and watch them fall, helpless, right before finishing them off.
When the battle was over, and they were only left waiting, hidden in dark alley, for Luffy to find a way out after winning the fruit, Zoro approached her. Lucy was cleaning the swords on the ripped shirt of one of her victims, after taking care of her own face with the hem of it.
"A bit unfair to finish someone like that" he said in the most neutral way possible, "Is that the Red's teaching?"
Lucy tilted her head, putting her swords back on her hips. "Nobody smart plays fair" she calmly retorted, "And that's not Shanks's teaching — it's mine."
Zoro didn't have the chance to answer. A noise distracted his thoughts, distinctive enough to be terrible. In a matter of seconds, the streets were swamped by Marines, prepared to arrest whatever criminal had participated in the fighting pit. Instinctively, he grabbed Lucy and pulled her close to his chest, hiding further in the darkness. "Fuck," he whispered.
Lucy initially stiffened, pressing herself against hist chest, as her vigil eyes stared at the little part of the crowd she could see. "Yeah" she murmured, "Fuck."
"What do we do?" seethed Kin'emon. Zoro and Lucy turned to look at him. Pressed against each other, they had almost forgotten he was there. "I could go and try to grab Luffy-dono's attention."
"No" Lucy quickly said, "A samurai doesn't go unnoticed."
Zoro gritted his teeth. "I'll go."
Lucy grabbed his wrist. "Are you fucking serious? You're world-known and that fake beard was ridiculous — now you don't even have it anymore."
He remained silent for a moment, staring in her eyes. Big and dark and stubborn. "So, you propose I let you go," he concluded.
She lifted her chin. "It's the only way. They don't know how much I've changed, the last they've seen of me is a picture from two years ago and my face was covered in blood." Then, she unsheathed her swords to place them in Zoro's hands and he lost his mind.
"You are not going unarmed" he seethed, pushing her back against the wall, "I can't defend you, once you go past that corner."
"I don't need defending" she spat, "I'm not asking you, I'm telling you."
"I am warning you, brat —."
"You're warning me? Then, fuck me. Tie me down and have it your way, I dare you prove you're capable of it!"
They stared each other down, bound to declare war and ready to swell with pride after the other abandons the battlefield first. But none of them did.
"I'm the only one who can do this" she uttered, "They might have not put seastone in the walls."
Zoro tilted his head. "What if they did?"
Lucy's lips formed that same smile it was so hard to decipher. "Then, I guess I've ran out of luck." And, with that, she dissolved into wind between his arms.
Lucy hadn't run out of luck. She flew against the wall, ready to become material again and fall to her death, or worse, to a pack of Marines. Yet, she found herself in the Colosseum, sighing of relief. Luckily enough, she spotted the weird guy with green hair they had seen before.
"You!" she called, "Bert. Bort. Uh — fuck. Barto.... Bartholomew?"
She sucked with names. Something her and Luffy had in common.
The guy pointed at himself, almost looking flustered, and she nodded. He had actually yelled at her before she told him she was part of Luffy's crew. She couldn't exactly scream out she was his damned twin sister. But this Bartholomew seemed to be somewhat of a fan and that was good for her purposes.
"Miss Lucy?" he asked. He looked on the verge of happy tears. Lucy kept herself from groaning.
"Yep, right. Any idea where Luffy is?"
And, blabbering a little too many words — majority of which sprinkled with nonsense — he brought her to him. The only intelligible thing she had caught was that he would win the Flare-Flare Fruit and give it to Luffy. Lucy showed him a grateful smile. Even if Bartholomew hadn't kept his promise, she would've ripped the fruit from his stomach.
She finally got to the room where Luffy was and sighed. He was fighting with some blonde guy with a weird-looking hat — typical. "Luffy" she called him, "We need to go."
He quickly turned to look at her and gestured with his hands. If the meaning was the same to when they were children, it was definitely something along the lines of "wait until I fix this piece of shit".
"Oh, fucking hurry!" she yelled, "I swear, five minutes — anything more and I'll personally start kicking you." Lucy groaned and the blonde guy smiled excitedly at her. Just to be safe, she gave him the finger.
"Listen," Luffy kept going, already cracking his knuckles, "The Flare-Flare fruit is a keepsake from Ace. If you want it, you're my enemy. Plus, don't call me Luffy — can't you see this fucking beard? I'm Lucy. Lu. See."
The actual Lucy, right behind him, rolled her eyes and the stranger chuckled. "You think I can't tell my brother's face just because he's in disguise?" he murmured.
The twins tilted their heads. "Brother?" they repeated in unison.
Luffy wrinkled his nose. "The only people who can call me brother are this one right here, Ace and the guy who died much earlier."
And they fell silent. They told themselves their own eyes lied to them. They told themselves they were hallucinating, because it just couldn't be. The blonde curls and those big, warm eyes, they were just a coincidence. His smile, surrounded by welcoming dimples, was witchery. That realisation, just a mere illusion. Lucy clutched her twin's arm. Luffy felt like he was being punched in the stomach. "The guy who... who died..."
Their eyes filled with tears, and they stumbled back, almost ending up on the floor, babbling incoherently. "I don't believe you," croaked Lucy between sobs.
Sabo smiled softly at his two younger siblings, taking a step closer. "We stole a bottle of sake from Dadan and made a toast," he began but he couldn't finish as Luffy shot his elongated arms forward to surround him, dragging Lucy right in the middle of their embrace.
Lucy briefly broke the hug to slap him, hugging him again immediately after. "Where—," she sobbed, "Where the fuck have you been?" Sabo was warm. Warm and alive and grown and tall and breathing.
"I thought you were dead—," cried Luffy, who had basically climbed Sabo all the way to his neck. He couldn't help but think about the times they would bother him during the night as children, maybe because they were actually too restless to sleep or because he was patient enough to pay them attention at a late hour. When they thought he died, that anchor of safety and warmth had become Ace, who before that time had been tougher and sterner. But Ace was gone, and Sabo was back. The world really was cruel in its own way.
Sabo exhaled a laugh of relief, not even caring about Luffy's snot and tears falling on his face or about Lucy's purposefully-weak-slaps on his tear-stained shirt. He held them tight, finally ending up on the floor, all crouched together in an endless hug. "Thank you," he whispered, "thank you for being still here." And he fell silent, at peace. In his mind, he spoke to Ace.
You don't have to worry anymore, he thought through tears, I got them, Ace. I got them.

HELLO, THE CHAPTER IS OVER! It's 02:18 am here in Italy and I've just cried about Sabo (again). I'm sorry again for the wait, I just really had a lot on my plate :(
Anyways, I really hope you liked this chapter lmao :'). There'll be more on the way with a particular focus on the events of Marineford in Lucy's POV and, ofc, more romance between her and Zoro. I wanted this chapter to be more about Lucy as a character with layers and how she relates to Zoro in a non-romantic context. I hope you enjoyed it! Lemme know what you think! Ily

Zoro's and Gill's confession
Tumblr media
Takes places at the tail of the Fishman island arc, for people who know O.ne P.iece. If not, they are on an underwater island and just did some stuff. Lmao
---
Of all the places they'd traveled to, this place definitely had its own plethora of unique traits. Fishman island, situated far, far, far below the waves, presented gorgeous views and vibrant architecture to admire. It's a true wonder to visit.
The gazebo tucked away in a, mostly, empty clearing is part of that great attraction. Currently, the only person partaking in this place is Gill, after following the pleasant stone path to the covered spot. She'd wanted just a bit to be by herself. She adores her crew, just right then it was stressful; but, only because of one member. Though, he hadn't done anything.
It was all because of what she herself said. She'd only said it because of a crafty devil fruit user; they'd created a copy of her, and obviously a quick way to reveal which is the copy is to ask both something only the real one would know, that wasn't quite the problem. What got complicated was the question Nami insisted she use as the proof. Something she'd only told her and Robin. Something, yes, logical, but she hadn't wanted to say. Not in front of him. The entire crew heard her reveal her hidden crush.
Her crush had begun a couple years ago. When she'd join the crew along side him, when they'd started sailing together and became friends. She'd come to admire his strength, his dedication, his loyalty; she saw his sweeter side, his goofy personality, and his love for his crew. She fell in love with Roronoa Zoro, first mate of the Straw Hat pirates. Her beloved crew mate and friend.
She'd thought of him often since the crew spent these two years away to become stronger. Obviously, she'd thought of all of her friends, she loves them all. Her thoughts about him, though, were special. Her crush had not been hindered by that distance. If anything, she only longed for him more. But she'd had no plans for confessing.
She wanted to, her only hesitation was the fact that they're crew mates. Should he not have feelings same as her, then that could effect their teamwork and make everyone in the crew feel awkward around both of them; she couldn't just make herself admit how much she likes him that way.
But he knew. He knew and she'd said it to the whole crew. She'd never been that embarrassed.
What was Nami thinking? She wanted to shout. Or just run.
Wrapped in her mind, she completely misses the approaching person walking across the stone path to the gazebo. But their eye is on her.
"You've been avoiding me." Zoro says, one arm casually leaned atop his swords. "The hell's your problem?"
Having not heard him until he said that, Gill jolted back from the rail. She freezes, eyes wide, noticing him. "Zoro !" She squeaks out. He starts approaching her, taking the steps into the gazebo slow; his eye was steady, trained with some unreadable focus on her face as her eyes looked anywhere except for him. "Hey, funny seein' ya ! I gotta leave and do a thing some place !"
She moves to walk by him, but he steps at the same time into her way. Again, she steps to get by him, again he moves to stop her. Again, again, he stops her as she continues to try to maneuver by him, like a strange dance where one partner is trying their best to get far from the other. For two pirates skilled at escaping from not just marines but other pirates, it'd be reasonable to assume they'd be better at both escaping and stopping than that. Evidently, not currently.
With something like a growl, Zoro gets tired of the charade. He walks forward, making Gill need to walk back until she bumps into a pillar behind her; Zoro's hands slam onto it on either side of her, already knowing she'd try and dodge aside again and discouraging it. "I asked you something."
They're nearly fully chest to chest like this, each breath bringing them a few inches closer. They're both wordless for a bit, eyes locked magnetically. After a pause, Zoro seems to realize their position and how hesitant she seems below him. Averting his eye, he backs away, hands going to his sides.
Gill let's herself sigh when given some room. He did ask her a question, rude as he'd phrased it. Her cheeks feel hot. "You know why." She mutters, curling inward shyly.
Zoro huffs. He's a man of few words, Gill knows he's not always great at saying exactly what he meant. Standing there though, her confession not yet given a response, she again wants to try jumping the railing and speeding somewhere away. "Nami made kind of a mess, hm." He mutters, sour.
That just makes Gill itch more. "Is that all you can say? That is the only thing you want to say to me?"
Zoro blanches; appears he just realized exactly what that sounded like. "Wait, no, thats not what I meant." He groans, palm grasping the back of his neck. "What I meant is, ugh, it's not like that. Listen alright, you shouldn't feel bothered that stuff, that's what I was saying."
"What I feel depends entirely on whatever you say next." She whispers. Taking a breath, she settles herself. "But, you should just be honest with yourself too." He isn't the type to, but she'd never want him lying to not make things weird.
Zoro's hand drops, his head staying turned to look out into the clearing. He's obviously aware just how important his words are now. But saying how he feels is all that's needed. Maybe that's why he takes a pause to talk. "We've traveled together for a while now." And that's not the first thing he typically would say. "Done a lot together. I've seen you change quite a bit, although I guess in other ways you're exactly the same. Wait, that's kinda confusing, huh. You've become stronger, but also more comfortable and bright. But you've stayed the same innocent weirdo you were from the start. You've always been important to the crew, to everyone. You're important to me. That's something I like about you, and always have. But, I've changed also." He, no, is he blushing now? "I've changed a lot. Have you noticed? I've tried my best to become stronger. I want to be the kind of first mate the whole crew can turn to. I want to be a type of man you can depend on. We've all got our goals, but I think since we've met, I think well that I've gained another reason to get strong. If you want, I can become someone who can always protect you."
Gill can't seem to think right. But her mind does process the words he said, and it mostly catches on one word. He said like. He likes her ! She steps closer, new determination in her expression; her hands raised in little balls in front of her. "Was that a confession? Did you confess !"
He looks taken back a bit; also he's for sure blushing full on. He grits his teeth, blush deepening. "Why else did you think I came looking for you, huh !"
"Well, like to reject me personally !" That's honestly what she'd figured he'd say.
"Why would I reject you ! You're incredible !" He makes a strangled sound, definitely having not intended to simply blurt it out to her. "Just forget it, I'm heading back right now !" He now moves to walk away, but Gill moves into his way. It's a continuation of earlier, but their roles are just switched. Zoro has height and muscle on her, but he's letting himself get stopped by someone who's half his size. He gives in after about a minute of that.
Gill puts her hands out, fingers splayed wide. "Alright, alright, alright, I just got excited. Uh, but, is that how you truly feel?" She just has to be sure.
"You think I'd spew all that and not mean everything?" He peers at her, essentially pouting. "I'm insulted." He squeezes his eye shut, looking again like the words are getting caught in his chest. His eye flies back open with renewed intensity. "I mean, I haven't been able to quit thinking about you for two years ! I was trying my best to train, and every day you popped into my thoughts ! It was distracting !"
Gill blushes, but returns that ferocity as ferociously as a kitten may. "I distracted you? Well you also were distracting ! I keep thinking about you too !" She groans, biting her cheek as her courage increases. She makes herself breath. "Zoro, I already said my feelings. Please, just tell me straight, I want to hear you say you like me." She smiles sweetly.
He meets her gaze, and right away its as if the hard edges of his face and body soften some. She watches his Adam's apple bob when he swallows. Hesitant hands are reaching towards her. They settle large and warm on either side of her, gingerly holding her hips. He must think she's made from porcelain with how delicate he touches her now. Now he makes no attempt to look away or run. She isn't trying to either. "I like you." He tells her. Simple and honest.
She had already understood that that's what he felt. But hearing that? Her breath caught for a second. Her grin stretches, practically literally glowing. "I like you." She says too. Her hands land on his chest, delicate fingers slipping from her sleeves to feel his muscular body.
Zoro seems unable to speak. But then he's also smiling. His grip gets stronger, and they're drawn nearer by simultaneous steps closer. As if drawn together, they start leaning in; closer, Zoro lowers his head and Gill stretches higher until their lips touch. Their lips are locked for a couple of seconds, drinking in each other's sweet taste. When they take a breath, neither is inclined to move an inch away.
---
The crew of the Sunny sit around the ship, all in various spots across the deck. Nami leans on the railing, Usopp tinkering nearby; she sighs as Sanji walks towards her, a drink in his hand and presented to her with flourish. Maybe she was a bit eager making her just say she likes Zoro. She already apologized, and Gill wasn't exactly pleased but she'd started to forgive Nami. Just, both she and Zoro went off a while ago, but neither have come to the ship since then. "They sure have been out a while." She murmurs; she takes the beverage, the ice softly clinking within the glass. Then, she sees the duo; not only returning together but side by side, their shoulders touching ! "Woah, no way !" She jolts upright.
Her exclamation brings the attention of the other crew mates to look where she is. They too see them, and it's obvious the shift from their prior awkwardness to this new intimacy that's closer than before.
When the two of them board the boat, all gazes are on them. There's interest, both mild and intense; Nami and Robin are full of intrigue, while Sanji appears as if he's about to begin sobbing. Zoro sighs, which is the only indication of how annoyed he feels. Gill waves sheepishly to her friends.
Dashing closer, the curious expressions of Nami and Robin are directly before Gill.
"What? Is? This?" Nami asks, a mischievous gleam in that eager face.
"My, what a curious development to see." Robin is more withdrawn, but there's definitely a thirst there too.
"Hey ! One question at a time, y'all." Flustered, Gill flinches.
"Are you guys a couple?" Nami asks. Did Sanji just faint off to the side after she asked that?
That makes Gill pause. Her eyes slide to Zoro; obviously they shared something special, but declaring them officially a couple is important. "Yeah, we are." He says without hesitation. Gill is taken back by how blunt he was. He looks to her. "What?"
Gill is blushing. "Well, I just hadn't thought you'd say that quick as you did." She fidgets with her sleeves between her hands.
He hums. "I already told you you're mine, I'm not going to let anybody question that."
Behind Gill, Nami and Robin coo. Their hands cover their mouths in surprise. "Woah, who knew you had that in you; I thought you were only a demon !" Nami says, laughing.
"How romantic; perhaps this is also a clone?" Robin wonders aloud.
"Hey, you two." Zoro's brow twitches in irritation as they pester them.
Gill though, goes from shocked to smiling. She steps towards him, latching herself to his side. Zoro seems torn between looking to her and snapping at the other two. Either way, Gill's more than happy to snuggle into him right there. They miss Franky to the side, deciding he should add some sound proofing to some rooms; if people are going to couple together it'd probably be best for everybody to install it.
Perhaps their status changed some things. But, maybe not that much.
"Hey, moss head, if you're going to be with a woman then you should speak more politely !" Sanji yells, already leaping at Zoro with a wide kick.
"Huh? What, you want me to talk like you? No chance, pervert !" Zoro block his kick like it's effortless, and as usual they continue to hurl names, insults, and hits at the other.
"Geez, do you two have to argue?" Gill sighs, but a smile is there too.
"Zoro ! Watch the swords !" Nami jumps back, almost colliding with Usopp who fumbles his new project.
"Hey, Sanji ! Less fighting and more making food ! I'm starving !" Luffy yells, chiming in to add to the typical cacophony.
Yeah, they've all changed. But, in many ways they're all exactly just the same. For Gill and Zoro, though, the most notable change is something neither of them would take back for any reason.

Back with more Siblings brainrot. This time four of them.
☆☆☆
Azul with Doffy!Sibling
Maybe, instead of Azul's mother getting full custody of both the children, she only gotten custody of Azul and the father gotten custody of Doffy!Sibling. I imagine that Doffy!Sibling ends up being fully in charge of some of the undersea more shady details, deals and mafia business. Azul and him don't talk anymore due to the separation even though they used to be so close. They haven't seen each other in years until NRC and just what the hell did that man do to his once innocent sibling to turn him into this?!
(Lmao, Doffy!Grotto trauma dump when?)
Tumblr media
Deuce with Juvia!Sibling
Deuce loves his sibling with all his heart even if they seems depressing due their unique magic being able to bring rain everywhere. He doesn't let anyone talk badly about them or the fact that they easily fall in love and take it to the extreme. His sibling greatly admires Deuce due to him being able to make friends so easily. They're also overprotective of one another and loves their mom more than anything. Though, Deuce does wonder if his delinquent days still effects how they see each other.
(Juvia!Sibling ends up with broken heart more times than they would admit.)
Tumblr media
Epel with a Zoro!Older!Sibling
Epel definitely admires his older sibling even though they have a terrible sense of direction. Zoro!Sibling is essential everything Epel wants to be when he's older especially the muscles. He just sees his sibling as the coolest person and the fact that he still wants to get stronger as a swordsman. Though, Epel is curious on why his sibling stays out so late and comes home at so late and why does it feel like they're hiding something from him?
(Zoro!Sibling is a bounty hunter and is hiding it from the rest of his family.)
Tumblr media
Jack with a Tails!Child!Sibling
Even though Jack knew his sibling doesn't visit often due to how young he is, he was surprised and happy to see him getting along well with Cheka. He knew his sibling was often timid due something that was out of their control and the fact that people used to bully them until he stepped in. His sibling greatly admired him which made him flustered a bit because of how his sibling was more into technology and advances on machine than things relating to sports and he gotten even more flustered when his sibling said he wanted to be just like him and described him as cool.
(Tails!Sibling is a sweetheart who admires their brother so much.)
Tumblr media
woohoo more black sheep :OOO
hehe fun fact, i do plan on lil ashengrotto's story involving shady parts of the coral sea so doffy!ashengrotto actually plays into a planned part of the universe :DD but also can you imagine if doffy!ash was small when azul last saw them and then BOOM big sib.
okok juvia!spade but, even during his delinquent days, deuce looked after them D: like they often fell in love with some bad people and he always beat them up when they hurt his sib :((
i can imagine zoro!felmier being excited to see epel since he looks up to them so much, but also feels bad bc he's lying to his family D:
tails!howl being just a lil baby and jack protecting them at all costs <333

Hey Skye! I didn’t really have anything to do so I just thought maybe you could do a Sanji and Zoro x ADHD! Reader and how they would handle them
This idea came from my own brain that is always getting distracted from stuff and zoning out
Pls and thx!
Tumblr media
Zoro & Sanji with ADHD! G/N! S/O
Summary: You just happened to be the Luffy version 2.o of the Strawhats.
Tumblr media
Roronoa Zoro:
- Oh fuck, another Luffy?
- Yeah, Zoro can handle you. Well, barely.
- They can never control the overly active captain, and now how would they deal with you in the mix?
- All hell broke loose.
- You and Luffy would constantly be the first ones to get the WHOLE crew into trouble EVERY SINGLE TIME and Nami and Usopp are this 🤏 close to turning you guys in XD
- Yeah, but your mossy boyfriend would, thankfully, comes to your defense everytime this happens.
- As for Luffy? Well, Zoro let the others deal with him.
- Having ADHD since childhood, you have hard time paying attention to others. Not to worry cuz Mosshead here would be the one to pay attention for you two, well, sometimes.
- Ya know, cause he likes to get lost and napping with you.
- LMAO, I THOUGHT OF SOMETHING!
- I was about to end Zoro's part here but nvm that!
- One time, when you guys were running away from gigantic animals (can be in Skypeia or Little Island), you got distracted by a cute bunny so you decided to chase it instead of going back to the ship.
- So being the 'more' responsible in the relationship, Zoro went away to find you, just to get lost himself.
- The others have to go back and fetch you guys (mostly Usopp would do this cuz Nami and Chopper would always win in their Rock-Paper-Scissors game) lol
- So yeah, you + Zoro (with a Luffy on the side), everyday is a chaotic day with the Strawhats :D
Blackfoot Sanji:
- Sanji, my wonderful man!
- This dude is most likely one of the most responsible in the whole crew. Well, except when he's in his simp mode.
- Anyways-
- Sanji deals with Luffy's obnoxiousness with an ass beating. But with you? Oh boy-
- "Sanji-kun! Would you please tell Y/n to pay attention to our discussion???" Nami groaned, pointing at you with her thumb.
- However, Love cook is not paying attention to her (wow, shocker) nor the discussion, he was busy looking at you with that dopey smile of his as you run around catching butterflies.
- And when you got into trouble because of acting repulsively, Sanji would not scold you. He would, instead, baby you while the others would facepalm at the two of you. (They already taught Luffy a lesson, no worries.)
- Sanji could never scold you! But sometimes, he would, in a very light manner tho.
- "My love! Don't you ever do that again, okay? Because I don't know what would I do without you 🥺!"
- So, uhm, I take back what I said earlier. Sanji can be a bit irresponsible with you. But rest assured, he would definitely pay attention to things just for you~
Tumblr media
Uhm, I think I have ADHD too??
Anyway, hello Anon! Sorry for my inactivity lately, and also, here you go! Hope you get better soon ;)!

hello! I saw from your writings that you love doing angst.. so i have a request if you don't mind! But I don't know your "level" of angst tolerance so u can tell us later if u want!
So it's a scenario where Law falls for a s/o that's a strawhat, classic right?
But what if s/o has a devil fruit that makes it impossible to touch people cuz it sucks their energy or sum, it's very dangerous and so in her childhood she couldn't play with kids cuz they feared her, but she's at the same time a little goofy ball of energy and with a lovely personality?
Law at first (like always) didn't fall for the charms but after finishing Kaido and returning to the crews, he notices for the first time s/o's clothes and how she's all covered up wearing long kimonos with long sleeves (so that she doesn't accidentally hurt someone)
He feels a bit weird and dismisses the feeling as pity but it just makes him remember the amber disease and how he would hide the white spots sometimes when it was necessary and then he realizes again that s/o's case is worse than his cuz that's definitely not a disease and she can't remove her devil fruit... And also he 'Respectfully' thinks she's kinda cute tho (like Bepo a bit).
In his awkward ways he tries to make conversation with her about her DF but it comes of suspicious to the crew and he nearly gets cut off by Zoro the first time and Luffy in the second attempt, so he just does his 'research for SCIENTIFIC reasons' with the info he has, and in that period it takes like one to one and a half year (in wich he STUPIDLY feel in love even more with the strawhat) to realize that the more she uses her powers the less years she will live and... THAT just DEVASTATES him, cuz he read just some days ago that Luffy found the One Piece and actually became the King of the Pirates but also that two of his crew were in critical life or death condition and he immediately knew who: of course the right hand swordman and his strategist aka s/o.
But he searched for treatments to help her and actually found a very rare flower who's nectar is said to 'give life's and sprinted to the strawhats, but.. by the time they arrive the Thousand Sunny is silent like never before and they tell him s/o is dead and is not just the fact that he didn't even have the chance to express his feelings to her before it was too late it was that he couldn't save a person that never wanted anything in life but to genuinely smile and enjoy her time with her friends.
The only time he was genuinely interested and in love with someone voluntarily..
Sorry if there are any mistake or bad written sentences cuz English is not my first language lmao! I hope you understand the scenario! And Thank you so much if you're willing to write it! 💚
I'll be 🍥 anon in case u have questions?
Have a wonderful day!!
hiiii  ପ(๑•ᴗ•๑)ଓ ♡ it's finally done, i hope there's enough angst in here for you; i took a few liberties, and it got a little more morbid than i anticipated, but i had fun in the end 💕
2.5k words, fem reader, angst angst angst, cw: death, nothing gruesome but it does happen, there's alcohol at a certain point, also a plot twist dun dun dun. law's a coward and a dumbass & y/n needs to stop lying to herself
Tumblr media
lying became your profession after you turned three years old; no you didn’t make the neighbor’s child cry on purpose, yes you did push her but it was because she said you were a freak that deserved death, no you don’t want to reflect on your actions, yes you’d do it again. you oscillate between both extremes so much that it becomes difficult to tell the truth from fiction. it suits you just fine, life is much better when you don’t have to think about things like that.
you wear dishonesty like a shawl, draped over your shoulders protectively, as if you can’t bear to walk around without it. it’s your dishonesty that leads you to eat a strangely shaped fruit, propelling your childhood into something twisted and complicated; and it’s your dishonesty that gets ostracized from the other children in your village. you learn to mind your business, you take to playing alone, to talking to yourself, and are more or less quiet until provoked.
people learn fairly quickly not to make you angry.
it’s when you accidentally siphon your cousin’s energy by grabbing her tightly, fingers sinking into her thin arm, your palm warming, a deafening silence filling your ears, making it hard to concentrate on doing the right thing. you don’t understand what’s happening, but you know that you don’t want her to keep messing with you — so you hold onto her. you feel full somehow, like you desperately needed to do this, and now that you have… you can’t stop.
when her skin pales, when her eyes lose their shine, when her breathing slows, a voice — faint, trembling, sobbing — makes its way through the silence and tells you to stop.
so you do.
your cousin spends weeks in the hospital recovering, and your parents are besides themselves trying to figure out how best to deal with you and your growing powers. after a few more incidents, your family packs up and moves to the countryside; away from most of the populace, in the hopes of keeping you away, as hiding you is their best option. you’ve always wondered if they loved you, and now you have your answer. it’s not love, it’s fear; they tiptoe around you, talk in whispers, lock their bedroom door at night.
because of this, you develop complex feelings about yourself — and about the world. it also leaves you vulnerable; all of the negative emotions that fester inside of you, like angry dark scribbles, blotting out any feelings of happiness, and you almost lose sight of everything, but another voice — a familiar, one, the one that told you to grab your cousin — reminds you that you’re stronger than you think, that you shouldn’t let the others dictate how you live your life. that you alone should come out on top, while everyone else is left behind in your shadow.
you don’t quite understand; your insomnia worsens over time, so you pour the remainder of your energy into reading, into learning more about the human body — about its limitations, about ethical and unethical medical practices; your parents do just about anything to keep you busy, so if it’s books you want, you get them. no questions asked. you mess around with various fabrics until you find one that’s thick, but breathable, and make a pair of gloves. they fit around your hands snugly, and you test them out, touching your parents’ hands and watching them for any changes.
when it seems like they’re still all in one piece, you’ve found a solution that might help you reintegrate into society. your parents feel it’s a little too soon, but they also know they can’t keep you locked away forever.
as time goes on, you learn to mask your true emotions, filter your personality so that you’re seen as approachable, amiable, safe. when you’re old enough, you work part-time at various medical clinics, before interning at the main hospital. your proclivity for retaining information and your insatiable curiosity works to your benefit, and you become a staff favorite.
it’s comical, really, almost as if they forgot that you’d been, essentially, chased out of town years prior.
however, as fate would have it, your body has other plans; you’ve been mindful, you limit your devil fruit use, you don’t get too close to anyone. somehow, you’ve convinced the world around you that it’s absolutely necessary for your arms and legs to be covered as well. even in the heat, you wear long sleeved outfits, hiding yourself more and more from outsiders, much to the chagrin of your parents. they don’t necessarily understand your reasoning and don’t press you for more details. it’s a defense mechanism of sorts that protects you from yourself, really.
it doesn’t prevent the voice from being the proverbial devil on your shoulders, instructing you to eliminate those who get in your way, growing much more rash and ruthless as the months go on. you ignore it as best as possible, chalk it up to not having socialized with other children your age while growing up, or perhaps fatigue, or both. you don’t imagine your delusions have gotten stronger, but sometimes they’re tangible enough to feel real.
and sometimes, on the really, really bad days, it’s almost as if your devil fruit takes flight, commanding your body, playing you beautifully, like the instrument that you are. one days like those, you try to keep away from others, feeling less and less like yourself, like a darkness has settled deep inside of you, ready to come out and suck in everything in its path.
it keeps you up at night, and it’s precisely the reason why you take luffy up on his offer, when he sees your powers in use. he’s the first person you come across that isn’t afraid of you; if anything, he sees it as a nonfactor, wanting you to join specifically because you fit in with his zany crew mates. you feel much more at ease, as if you can be yourself, like you don’t have to hide all the time — even though you’re not entirely honest with them, they don’t pester you over it. instead, they allow you to come to them in your own time.
the alliance with the heart pirates is a fruitful endeavor, as it puts you in law’s path. you find him absolutely fascinating, but his reticent persona makes it hard to get close. you know better than to push, so you leave him be. incidentally, it’s specifically because he cannot figure you out that he refuses to talk to you properly. bepo notices right away that his captain is captivated by you — by your uncanny ability to detect bullshit, by the fierce way you defend your friends, by the way you don’t seem to take life as seriously as you should.
he always seems to find himself surrounded by those types of people, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise to him, but it does. what he really wants to know, is why you insist on wearing gloves, on covering up your arms and legs; it would be rude of him to ask, but the way you’re careful not to stand too close to people, how you don’t really touch anyone, it makes him think there’s something deeper going on than you’re willing to admit. on one of luffy’s whims, you all throw an elaborate banquet, and it’s when you’re four drinks in that you babble on and on about the incident with your cousin and why you refuse to touch people out of fear of harming them.
there’s more to the story, he knows that; he can see it in the way you pause and consider your words, and in how you look away in order to avoid his scrutinizing gaze. when you leave in the middle of your conversation, law tries to follow after you but is stopped by zoro, who simply reminds law of his place. it’s not a threat, of course, he knows that, but the swordsman makes it abundantly clear that law is not to keep prying, no matter how much he wants to.
not one to be commanded, the pirate captain disregards zoro’s warning, and pursues you anyway. in time, he finds bits and pieces of the truth,  strings together theories, and comes to the conclusion that your recklessness, your reluctance to receive help from others, and your inability to open up is because of your past experiences with your devil fruit.
if anyone can understand the darkness that accompanies that level of trauma, it’s trafalgar law. for that reason, and that reason alone — at least, that’s what he tells himself — he finds himself tethered to you, unable to leave you alone, convincing himself that it must be out of an unexplainable morbid curiosity to understand you better. bepo says otherwise, but he ignores his friend, not wanting to listen and deal with the implications of possibly having romantic feelings.
what you did not tell law — what you haven’t told your friends, too — is that you already feel that you’re losing more of yourself every day. despite having a devil fruit that extracts energy from living creatures, the continuous use puts a strain on your body; and, because of the way your body has been on survival mode most of your life, it feeds on all of your anxious feelings, on the negativity that seems to surround you, and grows stronger. the voice gains a bite, has a vicious way of tempting you into removing your gloves and accidentally touching a stranger, just to do it.
you hate it so much you wish you could pull it out of you forever.
a memory is triggered and law searches through the various books in his library, until he finds one on obscure devil fruits; he finds the entry on yours — a short one at that — and frowns at the words. it barely gives him any clue as to why you’re not adapting to it, although the last line of text does strike him as odd. it makes mention of the user needing to want to use the energy, and since you reject every aspect of the fruit, your body can’t keep up. there’s no way to really neutralize those effects; it’s all mental, you see, but there’s no reason why he shouldn’t try to help you, right? because law is the sort to pour his all into whatever mission or project he works on, his crew indulges his selfish whims and assists him in locating a particularly rare flower, one that may help you.
in the interim, you find his letters comforting, and write back to him as much as you can. you tell him that he doesn’t have to keep searching, that you’ve made your peace with things. and he wants to tell you that it doesn’t have to be this way, that you can still live a long, fulfilling life — but that’s where you disagree. you know yourself; you know your bones, you know your soul, and you know that you’ve fought that voice for much too long to be able to keep living with it.
and after a year of searching, of experimenting, of diligently working to find a cure, he comes to find you. except, he’s too late.
the sunny is anchored on the coast of your favorite island; in your last moments, you make mention of wanting to be somewhere sunny, where the trees can provide endless shade, but where the warmth will always make you feel like you’re alive. because nami and robin are so apt at locating islands, they find one close by, and your smile is enough to break their hearts. while their time with you was short, you enjoyed it immensely.
law’s cowardice prevented him from talking to you properly, and when he arrives and he’s burdened with the truth, he’s left confused. you should be alive; you should be laughing as you normally do, you should be getting on his nerves with your outlandish ideas and your incessant talking. there are things he regrets in life, but this is at the top of the list. is it impudent of him to say that you look beautiful lying there, even in death? he doesn’t think so, but he keeps the thought to himself, resigned and ready to go.
but, before he can get off of the ship, he hears several gasps behind him, hears luffy shouting, hears usopp shrieking, which makes him turn around, confusion taking hold of him when he sees you sitting upright, stretching your arms over your head, yawning as if you’ve just woken from a long, long rest.
except, that’s not really true, is it?
he knows you’re dead, you have to be — but he also can’t discredit what he sees. you certainly move around as if you’re alive, although something feels off, raising the hairs on the back of his neck in alarm. everyone is wary, but you tilt your head at them, prying those silly gloves off of your hands slowly, a slow, sly smile growing on your face.
“you look like you’ve seen a ghost.”
that’s your voice, he’d know it anywhere. except, it isn’t. blinking several times, law is the one who asks the question that everyone is, surprisingly, too afraid to ask. “who are you?”
swiveling on your heels, hair whipping around your head wildly with your movements, you march up to him, grab onto his face with your bare hand, much to the shouts of the others behind you, and smirk.
“i’m death, don’t you know?”
his eyes narrow sharply, but you don’t let go of him, almost as if you’re proving a point. but what’s most astounding isn’t that you said that, it’s that he feels absolutely fine. your touch hasn’t affected him, and in turn you also seem just fine too.
“how?”
it’s the only other question he thinks to ask, but you just laugh and laugh, pat his cheek in a patronizingly sweet way, and move away from him. “that silly girl didn’t know how to use my power, so i took it from her completely.” before the others can voice their complaints, you hold a hand up, and roll your eyes. “easy, easy, she’s still here somewhere.” not that you care; it’s your turn to have fun. “i know how not to kill people,” you boast proudly, leaning against the railing, admiring the ocean as if it’s the first time you’re actually seeing it. “but, don’t think that you’ll be able to get rid of me easily.”
it’s the haunting look in your eyes that law recognizes, the one that says you’re ready to set the world on fire, to let chaos reign; he knows that look because it’s the same one he has. if he thought he liked you before, you intrigue him even more now. a savage, untameable beauty, one that chills him to the bone.
the question is, will you let him live, or will you take from him as you’ve already taken from others time and time again?

- Well, well my dear anon. I decided to pair you up with Vinsmoke Sanji because I think that you need lots of love and appreciation. And I think that he is someone who can give you all of that and even more.
- You were walking around the deck of the Sunny. Thinking about everything but also nothing at the same time. One minute you were thinking about your friend who send you a letter just yesterday and minutes later you would be walking around with a empty head. For a person that barely talked or spoke up about anything your mind was always somehow occupied with something.
- Two months. Since two months you were sailing with the strawhats who recruited you to join the crew of the future pirate king.
- You liked all of the crew members. But out of all of them you liked Robin and Zoro the most since they were pretty chill and calm people. They were quite and didn´t talk much. You could be sitting next to them without having to hold conversations. You could be sitting next to each other without a glimpse of awkwardness.
- Every member of the strawhat crew knew that you weren´t the most talkative person and accepted you the way you were. But still they somehow always tried to get you to talk. And one of them tried that the most. That person was none other than the ships cook, Sanji.
- You were aimlessly walking around the ship with eyes fixed on the ground when you felt your legs getting tired. You were close to the tree with the swing so you took the opportunity to take a seat on the swing and slowly sway yourself back and forth. You were once again lost in your thoughts when you felt a blanket being placed over your shoulder. The sudden contact made you flinch slightly and look up only to find the first mate standing in front of you. “Oi are you okay? I went to train in the crow’s nest around 6 pm when I saw you walk around on your own.”, with a visibly confused and a tilted head you were looking the green haired man in the eyes. “And?”, you wondered. Zoro raised a brow. “Y/N. It´s half past nine now. Didn´t you realize how dark it got? You´re pretty weird but that’s fine since none of us are normal. Not even Nami who´s not a devil fruit user.”, the words of the swordsman made you laugh. “Thank you for the blanket but I am not weird. I am just not really talkative like some of ya´ll. ”, you said while cuddling into the blanket. “I am fine with that. In fact that makes me like you the most since you´re pretty chill. Anyways I gotta go and shower. It´s your turn with the night watch I suppose. Good luck with that stupid cook. Night.”, without waiting for a reply he left you alone.
- When you thought you were alone footsteps could be heard behind you. You took a look at your left just to find Sanji walking down the stairs in black pants and a white shirt. Rolled up sleeves showing that he left the kitchen minutes ago and a new cigar between his lips he walked down the stairs with one hand in his pocket. No matter how he put a step he always looked elegant and gracious. “It kinda makes me sad to see that you talk and even laugh with that marimo but not me. Did I do something wrong my dear?”
- Out of all the people on the ship you never thought of hearing such a question come from the gentlest and loving person. You never thought that he would ever ask such a question because you always thought he could and would understand you without having to speak about it. “You seem to not like me much. Are you?”, he said with a beautiful smile upon his lips.
- “It´s not like that. It´s just that he never makes me talk. He listens when I do but other than that he never tries to make me speak because he understands that I don´t like to talk much. And when I do out of nervousness he makes me stop and takes over. He might not look like it but he truly is a understanding man. And so is Robin.”, “And I am not?”, you shook your head and smiled back at the cook. “You´re different. You are my comfort and save place.”
- The words that left your lips made Sanji widen his eyes out of shook. For a second his mind went blank but quickly was able to pull himself back together. He lit up the cigar between his lips and put both of his hands in his pocket.
- Sanji always tried his best to get you to talk and look people in the eyes when you did but he never forced you into anything. He always tried his best to make you speak out your thoughts and opinion on everything as gentle as possible. He was always caring towards you and always kept an eye on you. He understands you better than you do. He can read through your facet that was supposed to show a brave and strong you. A woman that was not shy. A extroverted, active woman. He was able to look into your soul and give you whatever your heart desired. No matter if it was food, clothes, books or simply the comfort of a silent room.
- “I really appreciate your words. In fact I am honored to have you see me worthy enough to be beside and with you. Although I wish for it to be more than that.”, out of habit you tiled your head slightly to the side that showed your confusion. You were about to ask what he meant but got cut off when he pulled you back up on your feet. “Let´s go and have a little snack.”
- With no other words leaving you, you let him lead you to the kitchen not knowing that your little head tilt made his heart melt and his soul to bust the biggest uwu.

Long selfship talk under the cut, Ahoy! You guys shared so many beautiful stories and dynamics with me! Unfortunately, tumblr didn't let me @ some of you, I hope you will somehow find this post 😭
@sparkly-ginger said:
Oooh boi, oh boi, I selfship with Kid, Ace and Shanks I'm sorry I can't control myself 😔🤤. But not the three of them in the same timeline, I'm a lazy ass and I just follow the timeline I mostly use in the respective story I wrote (still writing lol) for each of them. For Kid I just love starting from Sabaody, for Ace I like to concentrate on his backstory as a new man of Whitebeard, and for Shanks his past before he met Luffy. Seems like I like imagining and writing things from the gaps Oda left 😂! But yeah I'm kinda obsessed with them, especially Ace who was my VERY FIRST anime crush even I didn't even know anything about selfship etc. 😏 BUT as I said I'm a lazy ass and I don't publish anything on my blog cause I can't bother trad them in english.... sorry folks. 😅
Two redheads and a freckle boy! I love how you made three separate timelines for them (though, not gonna lie, seeing this happening in one... hmm, it'd be possible, but smells angst too much 😅).
And no need to be sorry! ❤

DENJIRO!! I swear I got it bad for this man as soon as he appeared. Who gave him the right??? Tall, handsome, gentlemanly, a sprinkle of crazy and a swordman on top of all. How dare he enter my heart like that?? I do imagine being one of the courtesans in the pleasure house who gets more of his attention than others hehehe there's a bit of backstory as well, but I'm a bit too busy to write anything, so it will stay in my head 🥰 Also, Pell!! He doesn't get enough attention and it hurts my soul. He deserves more love and I'm here to give it all to him. (I hope to remedy that lack of content a little with my entry for your raffle, which I'll be posting soon hehehe)
I ABSOLUTELY UNDERSTAND YOU WITH DENJIRO, ALRIGHT?! He really just appeared and stole everyone's panties, ngl.
I just hope he will be as immortal as Pell cause lately... Who reads Wano, knows 😂
Waiting for that Pell piece 👀

well... uh... the angy tulip? who would have thought haha. He got very cocky lately with all the attention he gets now.. but I am happy :D but then there is he other side that is just in love with a certain Orca and Penguin. <3
Kid fans eat well in Wano 👀 And the best is still in front of you, both in anime and manga 👀
Shachi and Penguin are so adorable 😳 They deserve this love!

As you may have guessed... I self-ship with Killer! I just love this big blonde man. I get heart-eyes when I see him lol Also, I've been following you so long and root for your self-ship so much that sometimes when Law and Zoro are onscreen I'll catch myself thinking "aww look at Bas's boyfriends, getting along!" 😅
Oh yes, I know well 👀 And can't blame you, Killer is my favorite Kid Pirate! Great husbando material, he can cook!
Haha, omg, this flatters me 😂 I hope it doesn't ruin One Piece for you ^^"

I used to selfahip with Luffy back when One Piece was on season 1 or 2. Yknow, 100 years ago.
I feel like everyone has their Luffy selfship phase at some point 😂 No wonder, he's a great character and a great inspiration!
@cherryblossom-chopper said:
I self ship with Usopp or Robin 😳😳
Oh, Usopp! So happy this boy gets some love and attention, he's so underrated 😭 What can I say about Robin, a wife material 👀
@kaizokuwritings said:
so if you don't mind... I'm shipping with Mihawk and Gaban, Mihawk because he's a charismatic and smart man, Gaban because he's funny and petty 👀💃🏼
Mihawk & Gaban is the new zosan lmao
I see, you have a taste for daddies mature with class 👀 Y'know, when I think about it now, I find them quite similar? Not in an obvious way, but there's something connecting them.
There's that truth we all do, indeed, have a type 👀

I don’t know much about self ships, I didn’t even knew they were a thing up until now?? but yeah, I’ve been in love with Ace since like 2003, I just love him so much, I was heartbroken after Marineford and after some time I just decided to kinda ignore that part I guess, in order to hurt less
Ignoring canon is a selfcare! Besides, there are always various AUs to explore, so no one would suffer ❤ Ace lives and is all healthy with you!

I’ll put my two cents in and say that Sanji is my love and my light ✨💖✨ and I’m here to give him the husband he so well deserves. My story is so so detailed it would take pages to talk about so I’ll spare the details. If anyone else from the replies wants to chat as well, my dms are always open ^^)/
I'm so, so glad Sanji receives the love from you! Was watching his Germa backstory with my sis today and we both cried so much 😭
And if you don't mind it, you can always slip into my dms as well, with no matter how many pages of details 👀
@salemzwitch said:
I selfship with Crocodile. I just like evilish bastard characters like him, something about them just makes me feel so soft
The bastards do have the charm 👀 Personally not the villain-ish type of characters fan, but I see a lot of fans of them and I can only root for you all! <3

Love Languages - Straw Hats
Luffy:
• What he needs/responds best to:
I think Luffy would really need to receive gifts. The types of gifts that carry a lot of meaning and are sentimental. We've seen how he treats the Srraw Hat he was gifted by Shanks - he keeps it on him at all times, does everything in his power to make sure it doesn't go missing. Yes, the hat is part of a promise they made, but that's the whole point. That gift from Shanks inspired luffy and continues to inspire luffy. Another example is the water he receives from Toto in Alabasta. It's an important gift, something the old man worked hard to get, so to Luffy he knows and understands the effort and meaning behind it and for that he treats it carefully. That is why I believe Luffy would adore sentimental gifts like that from his significant other. It shows the thought, the energy, and the care you have for him. It's a great way to show him your love. Also, if he were to receive meat as a gift.... well lmao we already know how that would go down.
• What he gives:
There's not really any need to explain this, but Lufy gives acts of service. Luffy is for the most part, pretty selfless. He constantly helps people he just met, for absolutely nothing in return. Sometimes they don't even say anything, he just already acts. This would be how he expresses his love for you. He'd randomly share his food with you (this would be a big one), he'd ask what you want or need done and as soon as you tell him he'd go off and do it. That's just how he is.
Zoro:
• What he needs/responds best to:
Zoro is very focused on his goals. He has his daily routine - sleep, train, eat, train, drink, train, repeat. Training is such a significant part of Zoros life, it's almost nonnegotiable. We've seen him train immediately after incurring an injury, without rest or recovery. Therefore, quality time would be very important for Zoro. In particular, I think Zoro would feel most love and cared for with a partner who understands his desire and need to constantly train, and rather than telling him to stop and spend time together, they join him in his training sessions. For Zoro that is quality time. The same can be said with the other points in his routine. A significant other who spends quality time with him through drinking, eating, sleeping and training would make him feel so understood and⅕ loved. I feel like acts of service kind of go hand-in-hand with quality time for Zoro. You know Zoros routine, what he does, and so doing little things throughout the day to make it easier for him to stick to that routine and maximize his energy for training, I believe, is a good way to make the swordsman feel loved. Preparing his favourite drink (if you are on the ship, or buying his favourite drink the next time you are on land), offering him a sparring buddy. Those sorts of acts of service will really make him feel appreciated.
• What he gives:
Zoro is more of a doer rather than a talker, and while he may be an idiot (especially with directions), hes not stupid. He has a good sense of the needs and states of his crew members. Because of this, Zoros love language is most definitely acts of service, he would view the situation, gauge your current state and act accordingly without being told what you needed. He'd just know.
Sanji:
• What he needs/responds best to:
To be fair Sanji would probably respond well to any of the types of love languages LMAO, but, I personally think he'd respond best to physical touch and quality time. Sanji is a SIIIIIMP (I love the man, bless his horny little heart). Anytime a woman is even in the vicinity he gets a nosebleed and gets all love-crazy. Imagine what hes like when a girl actually touches him. Actually... we see what hes like in Dressrosa with Violet. He blushes, swoons and everything in between when she holds his hand or touches him. So making physical affection towards Sanji is definitely the best way to show him you love him. Also, I believe quality time would be a big one for Sanji. Going with him to get the groceries for the ship, spending time with while he cooks. Showing interest in his passion would without a doubt make Sanji feel all warm and fuzzy inside. He loves cooking for others, so to have his partner reciprocate that interest and share that passion with him would mean the world to the chef.
• What he gives
Like Luffy, the love languages Sanji gives are pretty self explanatory. Sanji would show his love through acts of service and words of affirmation. We already see him do this to an extent throughout the series for Nami and Robin. Sanji will make your favourite meal, your favourite drink, anything you want. He is extremely chivalrous amd takes pride in treating women correctly, so you best believe he will do everything for you so you dont have to lift a finger. He would also compliment you daily, encourage you and listen to whatever you have to say. We've seen him do this numerous times. He loves to let women know how beautiful, strong, and amazing they are.
Usopp:
• What he needs/responds best to:
This guys is so anxious and insecure. He constantly fixates on how he's weak and unworthy to be a member of the Straw Hats. It's likely that these thoughts and feelings would manifest in a relationship with him too. Therefore, Usopp is a person in desperate need of words of affirmation. He would absolutely thrive if you were to encourage, reassure and compliment him. Remind him that he is in fact a brave warrior of the sea, one you admire very much. I also just can't stop thinking that Usopp would respond really well to quality time with his partner. If his partner would just sit and listen intently to his stories (some true, some exaggerated and some entirely false) regardless if they've heard them before or not. It would make him feel so appreciated.
• What he gives:
There's not a doubt in my mind that Sogeking would show his love through words of affirmation and quality time. He knows how it feels to be anxious and insecure. To ensure you dint ever feel that way he would be constantly complimenting you, speaking words of encouragement and listening to whatever doubts you had and then instantly reminding you that you are in fact bad af and should never doubt yourself. Again, Usopp would spent so much quality time with you telling you an assortment of stories to make you smile, cry, and laugh.
Nami:
• What she needs/responds best to:
Is it a surprise that the beautiful navigator would respond best to receiving gifts? No, not at all. She's known for her love of treasure and money, AND, she epreally enjoys shopping any chance she gets. So, it's safe to say any sort of gift is a great way to make Nami feel loved. But, she wouldn't just appreciate big expensive, or really materialistic gifts, she would also respond really well to small, sentimental gifts too. She was gifted a bracelet from her sister (we see the flashback scene in Strong World). Its a really important and precious gift to her, that she wears at all times. So, receiving a gift of any kind would mean the world to Nami.
• What she gives:
Giving gifts would be Namis main love language. She's in charge of all the finances and treasure in the Straw Hats, so we see how cautious she can be with money. Therefore, if Nami were to use that treasure for a gift for her significant other, it's a really big sign, it's a giant communication of love! There is no way in hell she'd do that for just anyone. This is actually shown in the Sabaody Archipelago arc when Camie is being auctioned off and Nami says that they can use all their treasure and money to try and get her back. If Nami truly cares for someone, she'll show it through gift giving.
Chopper:
• What he needs/responds best to:
Again, Choppers is relatively self explanatory. This boy thrives when he receives compliments of any kind. So, words of affirmation are undoubtedly the love language he responds best to. There's really not much else to say about it.
• What he gives
Chopper really enjoys spending time with the crew, he's been shown to enjoy playing games with Robin, fishing off the Sunny, and goofing off with Luffy and Usoop. So, quality time is the primary way Chopper shows his love. He enjoys spending time doing anything with those he cares about, so his significant other would be no different.
Robin:
• What she needs/responds best to:
Robin has had a rough life, she may not have always been alone, but she really was alone for most of her life. She couldn't trust anyone, could 't get close to anyone, but now that she's found that person, spending quality time with them is going to be very important for her. She would really need her significant other to just be near her, even if it's in silence while she's studying, or allowing her to talk about her research. As long as the person she loves spends some quality time with her, Robin will be happy.
• What she gives
She's the intellectual of the crew. She can read people and is really good with her words. That's why I think words of affirmation are what she'll give to her partner. We've seen her calm down, reassure, and encourage some if the anxious bunch on the crew, so there's no doubt that she always knows the right thing to say.
Franky
• What he needs/responds best to:
I believe words of affirmation to be the love language Franky responds the best to. Being told how cool, strong, creative, and super he is would do wonders. You can actually see this in the way he responds to Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper's reactions to all his creations. When they go on and on spouting compliments, with every "oooh" and "ahhh" Franky gets motivated, more lively, it makes him feel great. So it stand to reason that words of affirmation is the best love language for Franky.
• What he gives
Franky is very hands on. He is a shipwright afterall. This cyborg undoubtedly shows love through acts of service. He'll make and do anything you need him to, sometimes even anticipating your future needs and having things prepared in advance. I also be,ieve receiving gifts goes hand-in-hand with Franky. He'd use his creative mind and skills to make you some outrageously super gift that you can use in battle alongside him.
Brook
• What he needs/responds best to
This poor guy spent most of his life alone, having lost all of his crew. So, Brook would require both quality time and physical touch. Physical touch would be a great reassurance, little touches here and there - physical affection - is a reminder to him that he is no longer alone. The same can be said about quality time. Doing anything in the presence of his partner is soothing to him, it removes any lingering reminders of loneliness.
• What he gives
Brook hands down shows love through acts of service. This man would learn all of your favourite songs and play them for you when he senses you're feeling a little off. That's just what he does. He's been shown to do that with the crew already, if it's too quiet, a lot of tension, or he feels the situation calls for it, he cracks a joke or plays some music for the crew. He would do the exact same for you.
Jinbei
• What he needs/responds best to:
Not gonna lie, i dont know if I have he greatest grasp on Jinbei as a character yet, so I'm not 100% sure what love language he would respond best to. However, I am leaning more towards acts of service. I just feel as though there's no better way to make Jinbei feel loved other than going out of your way to alleviate the stress in his life, even if that means talking sense into the straw hats so he doesn't have to (LMAOOOOO).
• What he gives
Like Robin, I believe Jinbei to be really good with his words making words of affirmation to be a love language he uses. He's been seen a few times trying to talk sense into Luffy, and because of this, I feel as though he'd be really good at encouraging, complimenting, and empathizing with his partner. Also, Jinbei is good at analyzing a situation, seeing what needs to be done and then doing it. It happened many times in Marineford (and I think in whole cake island). Acts of service is likely to be another love language he would use for his significant other.
