@therealsweetspot As the old saying goes, "the eyes are the window to the soul." When we look someone in the face, we are better able to gauge their mood and understand their thoughts. We will probably be able to tell if they are happy or sad. If we are looking someone in the face, we are prepared to actively listen to whatever they have to say. It is the same way with seeking God's face. When we talk about seeking God's face, it means we are seeking to know Him, understand His character, and hear His voice. The Bible instructs us to seek God's face: "Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always" (Psalm 105:4, NIV). But why are we to seek God's face? The answer lies in the translation of the word "face." Different translations translate the word face as "presence." In the ESV, this verse is translated as: "Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually!" The Lord wants us to seek to spend time with Him in His presence more than anything else. He promises that we will find Him: "You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart" (Jeremiah 29:13). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #DailyPrayer #Devotionals #PrayerLife #WordBeforeWorld #ChristianWriter #BibleVerseDaily #HopeWriter #SheWritesTruth #BibleStudyNotes #BibleJournal #ItIsWell #JesusAndCoffee #SoulScripts #ChristIsKing #GoodNewsFeed https://www.instagram.com/p/CiLFBcBuu0i/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

AMEN! Reposted from @scribbledevos Your way isn’t working anymore. You know that; you feel that. It’s time to yield, and allow the Lord to bring good things about in you and for you. Proverbs 3:5-12 // Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine. My child, do not despise the Lord’s discipline, and do not resent his rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in. . . . #dailydevotional #faithoverfear #shereadstruth #faithquotes #dailyencouragement #womenoffaith #womenofgod #biblestudy #christianquotes #Jesuslovesyou #Jesussaves #christianinspiration #christianwomen #daughteroftheking #givemeJesus #coffeeandJesus #christianliving #christianposts #bibletime #biblequotes #dailybible #Jesusandcoffee #wordbeforeworld #bedeeplyrooted #itiswell #gritandvirtue #christiancreative #womenintheword https://www.instagram.com/p/CpnimEbJVAE/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Helloooooooo Monday!! It’s been a day. Anyone feel me? April is coming fast and I’m left asking myself, “How the flip are we here already?” I feel like this year is already flying by compared to last year. I can’t wait for Easter celebrations this weekend with family. . Last year’s Easter still haunts me. It was too weird getting all dressed up to sit on my couch😂 Looking back I realize I had everything we needed to celebrate: Jesus, my little family of four, good food and toilet paper😂 . This week is so magical and special. Just soaking in all the moments over here. Trying to make all the memories. I’d love some help knowing what everyone does every year to celebrate. What’s your favorite Easter traditions? . . . . . . . . . . . #seekhimfirst #butfirstjesus #wordbeforeworld #christianblog #faithblogger #christianinspiration #christianposts #christianquotes #biblescripture #graceupongrace #easter #easter2021 #ltkspring #eyelashes #fakeeyelashes #eyelashlook #eyemakeup #blackshirt #discoverunder5k #arizonablogger #scottsdaleblogger #prescott #arizonalife #momssupportingmoms #momshelpingmoms #springmakeup #springmakeuplook #maccosmetic #eastertraditions #mondaythoughts (at Prescott, Arizona) https://www.instagram.com/p/CNBghEhlfSi/?igshid=1co2jtpix1xkp

chanced upon zinemaking recently so i thought i would start making a zine since this portion of the commentary exalting Jesus in exodus left quite an impression on me (and i honestly think that mini zines are pretty cute heh). this one’s about idolatry. i know it isn’t a topic most people would like to talk about, and even i was pretty certain idolatry wasn’t a part of my life. until i realised that don’t have to be worshipping literal, physical idols to be caught up in idolatry. in fact, the many times i sought comfort, satisfaction and whatever only Christ can give me from something else, i was actually idolising that thing. it can be pretty disconcerting and shocking, and we might have difficulties admitting it at times, but it’s true. so here’s some ideas i compiled from the commentary on how to conquer the idols in our hearts! ultimately, it all boils down to us beholding Christ and not giving in to our fleeting feelings. may we always remember to worship only the one true King and give Him our undivided devotion.

Y O U ' R E   N O T   A L O N E You may feel alone right now, but I want you to know that you are not alone. You always have someone with you who sticks closer than a brother/sister. God is with you! And when He is with you, you can be sure that everything will turn out better than OK. There are times when we feel alone, even amongst friends and family. Sometimes it’s a temporary thing; other times it takes over us for a while. In either case, we feel like we’re battling against everyone and everything and losing on all sides.Whatever trouble you might be facing today, whatever battle you are fighting, take heart! God has promised that He has already won, which means YOU have already won! You are not alone; He is in the fight with you! Psalm 139: 1-4 tells us that God has searched us and He knows us, He sees all of our thoughts and all of our actions. He knows every single word before it is on our tongue, and what’s most amazing is He stills loves us. None of those things change the way He feels about us, BUT the sharing of those things with Him, inviting Him into our trouble, inviting Him into our discouragement creates the connection we long for, the intimacy we were created for and the freedom we crave from the shame and discouragement that hold us back.

What most of us forget while reading the Bible, is that the people within it, didn't know what was going to happen. They had no idea of the outcome. Noah didn't know what was going to happen when he started the ark. Abraham and Sarah didn't know what would happen when they left their comfortable homes in Ur. Nor did Abraham know what was about to happen when he was told to offer up Issac. Moses didn't know what was going to happen when he was sent to Egypt to release the Israelites. We know the outcome. We've read the stories. But they did not. They where real people, who just had an outstanding trust and faith in God.
When you think of that, it's easy to understand the Israelites' fear. Here they where, trapped between the Red Sea and Pharoah and the Egyptians. Put yourself in their place. The fear that they where likely feeling. Trapped. Not knowing what was going to happen. Moses likely wasn't even fully aware of what was about to take place. But Moses showed some outstanding faith and trust. Enough so he even told the Israelites to trust in their God. And what happened? God, through Moses, split the Red Sea for His people. It seemed hopeless to them, just like situations seem hopeless to us. But God provided away. And He can provide away for us too.
Let's push aside the Red Sea incident and look a little deeper; on something less awe inspiring, something insignificant to some. Let's focus on the Israelites' murmuring. Or their complaints. Their desire to go back to Egypt. Now, we might look at them and wonder how they could want such a thing. They where slaves in Egypt! But we forget, that they where humans. Just like us. And what do we do? We yearn for the past. The old days where so much better than right now. Sometimes we want to go back to those toxic friends, that toxic relationship. Why? Because our minds are focused on the good they offered us- something we don't have right now. Our minds forget the bad. We only focus on the good. And that's what we miss. We start to complain that things where better than. The Israelites stopped being grateful, started thinking things in Egypt where better. They stopped focusing on what God had given them- freedom from slavery.
It's a trap all of us can fall into. To lose focus and gratitude for what we have right now, in the present. We need to keep focused on what God has given us now. Remember, not every thing we lose is really a loss. To help keep focused, and keep a grateful heart and spirit so we don't develop a complaining attitude, think about this; What if you woke up tomorrow with only the things you thanked God for tonight?

Reposted from @wellwateredwomen Putting the Word before the world is a mindset shift that will impact the way you live, think, and love the Lord. If you’re looking to put the Word before the world in 2022, here are a few practical steps you can take each day: 1️⃣ Pick a PLACE. Create a regular time and place for you to have your time with the Lord. Gather materials you use to study the Word: your Bible, your Give Me Jesus Journal, and pens or highlighters. Creating a spot or having a bag ready with everything you need to have your quiet time each day will eliminate one obstacle to reading your Bible. 2️⃣ Have a PLAN. Consistency is not always possible in every season of life, but in all seasons, give Jesus your best moments, even if they cannot be the first. Do you have a consistent time and place for spending time with the Lord? 3️⃣ Know the PURPOSE. Remember the benefits of putting the Word before the world. Knowing why you study Scripture is important and will make you more likely to place it at the top of your to-do list! 4️⃣ Be sure to PREPARE. Decide on a book of the Bible you will study and stick with it. You’ll get the most out of your daily time in the Word if you settle down in one book of the Bible to study and comprehend as you write truth on your heart. Each day, you’ll pick up where you left off. Putting the Word before the world feels harder some days than others, but remember: the more you taste Jesus, the more the world will lose its flavor. Train your soul to desire what will satisfy, your mind to be grounded in truth, and your heart to love God more than any other thing. -Gretchen (@gretchensaffles), Founder #wellwateredwomen #WORDbeforeworld #givemeJesus #quiettime #Biblestudy #shereadstruth https://www.instagram.com/p/CYkfRVxqi6Y/?utm_medium=tumblr

Good morning!
I love this verse, it’s not only reassuring that God is always no matter what, where, when or under what circumstances he is always with us; but also it’s a attention getter. A wake up call if you will.
God wants us to trust in Him and him only. You got a upcoming test that seems a bit hard, trust in God, facing unemployment, trust in God, lost a loved one, trust in God, have to make some decisions, trust in God. Often people say “God never gives more than what you can carry “ that’s a lie, God gives us more than whe can carry so we can TRUST in Him and go to Him and ask Him to help us. He wants us to relay only in him and not in ourselves or the world. TRUST TRUST TRSUT AT ALL TIMES AND MOMENTS. Because only Him is able to direct our steps towards the path of His will. He wants to glorify himself in us, he wants us to trust so deeply in him that is not us moving our feet forward anymore, but Him. The Peace that comes with trusting God is beyond words can possibly describe. Knowing that He is with us in the middle of the storm, waiting for us to give him all we got and let HIM do his will upon us. Because we cannot do anything without God.
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Whatever you have in your plate today, Trust in him.
I pray that God’s will and grace be done over you today. Have an amazing day. 💛

#REPOST @aussiedave with @get__repost__app ⠀⠀⠀⠀ How do you develop your faith? ⠀⠀ My answer usually starts with a Hebrew word—“kavanah”—which means to be aware that you’re standing in the presence of God. The rabbis teach that having an awareness of God is what brings passion to your prayers, worship and study. This “kavanah” (כונה, pronounced “kaˈvonah”) helps focus less on yourself, and more on God. ⠀⠀ Being aware of God in worship or prayer only comes when you are  aware of God in EVERY conversation you have, EVERY step, EVERY breath, EVERY post … everything. ⠀⠀• Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. - Colossians 3:23 ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ #followjesus #biblestudymoments #Hebrewforchristians #sharethegoodnews #wellwateredwomen #Hebrewwords #christianinfluencer #wordbeforeworld #sprinkleofjesus #faithblogger #intheword #wordbeforeworld #christianquotes #christianreels #givemejesus #ChristianInstagram #jesusfirst #womanofgod #wordofgod #Christianwoman #dailydevotion #christianliving #christianlife #thewordofgod #jesusrocks #christianblogger #christiancreative #shereadstruth #godlovesyou #dailybread https://www.instagram.com/p/CUOB3XqhPWN/?utm_medium=tumblr

there’s only one reason why God who has already forgiven ALL our sins would ever want us to remember our sins: understanding the severity of our sins helps us grasp the depths of His amazing grace when He sent Jesus to die for us, to die in our place. to the extent that mankind is so hopelessly depraved, our God is so overwhelmingly magnanimous. i would like to think that this is an understatement. His grace is wider than the oceans, His love is unrivalled and simply incomparable. https://www.instagram.com/p/BypjccwFd-s/?igshid=14gv91z2fsi50
