Transforming Operations with Workflow Automation: A Look into 2025
As we move into 2025, workflow automation continues to reshape the way both businesses and government entities operate. The integration of advanced technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) into workflow automation tools has opened new opportunities for organizations to enhance their efficiency, minimize errors, and make faster, more informed decisions.
Tumblr media
Workflow Automation Tools: A New Era of Efficiency
Workflow automation tools have undergone a massive transformation, evolving from simple task automators to sophisticated platforms capable of managing complex processes across industries. These tools now leverage cutting-edge AI and ML to streamline operations, reducing the need for manual intervention and significantly cutting down on human error. Popular platforms like ServiceNow and Atlassian are pioneering these advancements, automating everything from data entry to decision-making.
Government Workflow Automation: Streamlining Public Services
The push for government workflow automation is gaining momentum as public sector organizations recognize the benefits of faster, more efficient service delivery. Many governments are now turning to automation to reduce bureaucracy, streamline processes, and cut down on paperwork. One notable example is the U.S. government's move to modernize cloud security through the FedRAMP program, which automates security assessments to ensure faster and more secure cloud adoption.
These advancements, while promising, come with challenges. Some citizens, especially those without access to digital tools or those less tech-savvy, find it difficult to navigate fully automated government services. A case in point was the reversal of an online ID verification requirement by the Social Security Administration due to public concerns about accessibility.
The Importance of Workflow Automation Support
Implementing workflow automation tools successfully requires more than just software—it requires ongoing workflow automation support. As more organizations adopt these technologies, the demand for integration services, continuous monitoring, and staff training has surged. Companies like ServiceNow are pushing the envelope by introducing AI-driven solutions that help companies and government agencies automate their operations with greater intelligence and ease.
Having a robust support system is vital to ensure that automation tools are effectively integrated into existing systems. Whether it’s troubleshooting issues or optimizing the tools for better performance, support plays a key role in ensuring long-term success.
Looking to the Future of Workflow Automation
The future of workflow automation tools looks incredibly promising. With the rise of AI and machine learning, automation is set to become smarter and more adaptable. We can expect to see even more sophisticated tools capable of not just executing predefined tasks but also learning from data to make proactive decisions. Additionally, the increasing popularity of low-code and no-code platforms means that more people, even those with little technical expertise, will be able to build and implement custom workflows to fit their unique needs.
Final Thoughts: The Road Ahead
As we look to 2025 and beyond, it's clear that workflow automation tools are becoming indispensable for businesses and government agencies alike. These tools bring unparalleled efficiency, reduce operational costs, and enhance service delivery. However, it's crucial to remember that the success of these tools hinges on proper implementation, continuous support, and a balanced approach to accessibility. With the right strategies, workflow automation can truly transform operations for the better.

hongjoong coworker headcanons <3
a/n: a whole bunch of people got laid off at my company today, so it only seems right that i cope by escaping into thoughts of coworker!ateez <3 please enjoy the precious gem that is coworker!hongjoong :,-) pics not mine~
content: fluff, nonidol!au | wc: 1k | warnings: none really! one mention of food | pairing: coworker!hongjoong x gn!reader | requests: open
Tumblr media Tumblr media
everyone, and i mean absolutely everyone, wants to be mentored by hongjoong
they don’t care if they aren’t even in the same department as hongjoong
they just KNOW that he is the best ally and support system to have in the office
everyone also says his face is a workplace perk most people are too scared to say thing within earshot of hongjoong lmao
hongjoong knows everything people say about him, but he doesn’t let on
instead, he simply does his job and minds his business
things change when you start working at the company
you were hired in not only the same department, but same team as hongjoong
so your supervisor assigned hongjoong as your mentor
hongjoong, ever the professional, happily accepts and promises to train you well, so you can succeed in your new role
this all happens before you have a chance to learn hongjoong’s lore at the office
so you are wildly confused by the shocked and jealous stares from your coworkers as hongjoong walks you to your desk
it also feels suspicious that seemingly everybody is walking by your desk while hongjoong gives you a brief introduction to workflows, programs, etc.
but you, like hongjoong, are just trying to mind your business and do your job
which is actually super easy because hongjoong knows every single hack, automation, etc that means you can get your work done without being slowed down by tedious tasks
he’s a genius but so casual about it that you’re just sitting there like :-0 ??? how does he know everything ???
he chuckles when he sees your face and assures you that it’s just because he’s been there for ages and that soon enough you’ll be exactly the same way
you doubt it but appreciate his confidence in you LOL
at the end of your first week, hongjoong offers to take you to lunch
he says your boss is paying for it because it is “team bonding” so you agree
what you didn’t know was that this team bonding would include hongjoong spilling ALL the tea in the office
he wasn’t gossiping in a cruel way, but he felt it was his duty, as your mentor, to give context on all the looks you were receiving
hongjoong finds it hilarious and adorable when you look at him with an absolutely shocked face
he just sits back while it sinks in for you, and, based on your reaction, hongjoong knows for sure that he finally has a friend in the office
he can tell that you won’t treat him like he’s different, which is a massive relief for him
so, from that day on, he makes it his mission to be both an amazing mentor AND a good friend
he stops by your desk for little check-ins and spends his breaks with you, whether sipping on coffee or walking around outside
hongjoong remembers everything you tell him about your life like he’s an incredible listener
you joke that it’s creepy he pays SO much attention to every detail you share and he says his resume didn’t say “detailed-oriented” for nothing
that is the moment you realize he is a complete dork LOL
speaking of dorky hongjoong
whenever he offers you a “cheer up!” or “you’ve got this!” it feels so much like a proud parent cheering on their child
he complains when you say this because “at least i should be an older brother but a DAD?!?!”
hongjoong is sulky but that goes away as soon as you buy him his favorite drink
you also changed his contact to “dad” but he doesn’t need to know that <3
he isn’t beating the dad/older brother allegations any time soon because he nags you once he gets comfortable with you
it’s always with a smile on his face and full of care
but he will nag you about keeping your desk clean, using better handwriting, making your presentations more stylistic, etc
like sorry when did he become a judge instead of a mentor ???
it’s okay though because he lets you return the favor by nagging him constantly <3
hongjoong pretends not to like it when you nag him, but it fills his heart because that means you’re comfortable with him too :,-)
it also adds to everyone’s jealousy because you two are CLEARLY close and hongjoong finds their envy ridiculous and hilarious
he definitely brags about how close you two are like he thinks you’re incredible and that everyone should be jealous they don’t know you like he does
somehow dating rumors start of course and when asked about it, you and hongjoong always reply with “wouldn’t you like to know”
hongjoong made you promise to give that answer because he thinks it’s fun to mess with everyone LMAO
he has so much fun with you that, to show his appreciation, hongjoong gets you a gift for your one-year anniversary at the company, including a handwritten note
he makes you promise not to open it while he’s with you because he doesn’t want either of you to feel awkward
later, once you read the note, you understand exactly why he requested this
the note starts with him praising your work ethic and improvement because he’s a proud mentor :,-)
at the end, he confesses that, before you started working there, he felt pretty isolated
it was like he was on an island or in a fish bowl, being watched from afar by everyone else
after that first lunch, and the many, many conversations you shared afterward, hongjoong finally felt like he belonged there
you made hongjoong feel like he belonged
that was something he was immensely grateful for, so he promised to pay you back by supporting you as a coworker and person, so you never felt like you were alone or an outsider
hongjoong tries to play it off the next time he sees you, but the sparkle in his eye when you thank him for being such a good colleague and friend reveals just how much he cherishes you in the workplace and beyond <333

Hi, Mr Prokopetz, I'm a big fan. Apologies if you've answered this before, but I was wondering what software you use to create the pdf and epub layouts of your ttrpgs, and whether you'd recommend it to a hobbyist who wants to try putting together something more professional than a gdoc for their own ttrpg?
My workflow is unfortunately not terribly accessible unless you have a fair amount of technical know-how.
In brief, I write all of my games in Notepad++ as HTML documents, taking care to use only the subset of HTML5 tags which are supported by most popular EPUB readers. I then use Calibre (or, more, precisely, the command-line utility that comes with Calibre, though you can get mostly the same results via the GUI) to bundle the HTML document as an EPUB3 file. I typically distribute both the HTML and EPUB versions (the former in a zipfile with all of the fonts and images and such) because web browsers tend to have much better screen-reader support than EPUB apps do.
The PDF, meanwhile, is generated from the same master HTML document using CSS paged media extensions – the layout is all generated automatically based on rules specified in a big, gnarly CSS file, and is never touched by human hands. There are a number of software packages which can do this sort of CSS-driven HTML-to-PDF conversion, some of them free or open source; I use a commercial product called Prince because, to the best of my knowledge, it's the only such software which has out-of-the-box support for PDF/UA semantic tagging (i.e., the stuff you need to do in order to make your PDFs screen-reader friendly), but you have more options if you're willing to tag your PDFs manually. (I am not.)
As for whether I'd recommend doing it this way? Like I said, unless you're a proper gearhead, not really; it's super efficient once you get it all set up – the only version of the game I actually maintain is the master HTML document, and generating updated versions of all the other formats is a one-click affair – but it's really only feasible for me because I already knew how to all that workflow automation stuff for unrelated reasons. I can't imagine teaching yourself all that from scratch just to write elfgames!

Blinkie.World coding and efficiency
Hi everybody. Thank you all for the support on my last post! I literally only just got on Tumblr, and I already feel very loved and supported. This is a very nice community for sure. It makes me happy to see so many people excited about it. And to every person saying they'd love their blinkies to be included... bold of you to assume you're not already on my radar! When I say I'm collecting every blinkie, I mean EVERY blinkie! The only exceptions are immoral ones like proship and anti equal rights. Even if I'm already getting blinkies from you guys, I do appreciate everyone sharing/ pointing them out to me. It helps me to be sure I've got as many as I can! So, thanks you guys. You're all very kind.
Anyhow, since there seems to be interest in Blinkie.World, I'm sharing a little more about it. This is about how the site's being made physically, both explaining it and trying to think of ways to improve the process. Also a bit on the workflow side of things. If that's not of interest to you then you can go ahead and give this one a skip. This one's probably a bit boring for most people, but if you are interested... then onto the post!
Someone mentioned that they hope I have automation for making the site, since it seems like a lot of work. I've done what I can to help this go efficiently, but at the end of the day, I am just doing it by hand. Last time I showed what the code looks like per blinkie, which is this:
<a href="" target="_BLANK">
<img src="" alt="" title="Credit: . ID: """></a>
<!--Categories: -->
<!--Screencap: -->
That is the actual code I use. I copy and paste this every time, then enter in the details. I'm not sure that counts much as automation, but at least I'm not out here typing that over and over. This is an example of what a blinkie looks like coded in:
<a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20030406002318/http://mywebpage.netscape.com/antikao/pinkieblinkiepage1.html" target="_BLANK">
<img src="https://lonelycoconut.neocities.org/blinkie%20site/pink%20blinkies/Calvin%20%20%20Hobbes.gif" alt="Calvin + Hobbes" title="Credit: Pinky Blinkies. ID: "Calvin + Hobbes""></a>
<!--Categories: Pinky Blinkies, pink/, cartoons/, comics/, calvin and hobbes/, calvin/, hobbes/, kidcore/, animals/, mammals/, tigers/ -->
<!--Screencap: https://lonelycoconut.neocities.org/blinkie%20site/Screencaps/Pinky%20Blinkies.png -->
That is an actual snippet from the site! First is the link to the creator (and yes, it HAS to be the creator, not a reposter of any kind), and a target="_BLANK" which makes the link open in a new tab. Next is the image link. Each image is named the same as the text on the blinkie. That way, I type what the blinkie says, then copy and paste that to the image name, alt text, and image description (title). Then is the title. If you don't know, a title for an image in HTML is text that appears when you hover your mouse over an image. So, for each hover text (title), it says the name of the creator, then a caption of the blinkie's text (since they're often hard to read). After that is </a>, which closes the link, making only the image linked to the source.
Tumblr media
After the link and image, there are the comments. In HTML, a comment is text that's in the code but doesn't appear or affect the website itself. It's usually just notes to self. The first comment is categories. First I put the creator, then the color category it is sorted in, and lastly every other category it's in. You'll also notice that each category listed has a slash after it. The reason is, when I put a slash after a category, that means it's already added to that category page.
Below that is the screencap. This is an image showing the creator, every blinkie they have made, and their terms if any. Here's this specific screencap if you want to see how that looks. I go in and screenshot all the pages I need, then combine them all in Photoshop, then name it after the creator, upload it to Neocities, and finally add the screencap image link below every blinkie by that creator! And, that's how I fill in the code for a blinkie!
So, yeah, this is definitely a lot. I'm sure I could benefit from more ways to speed up the process, but I don't know much else I can do. It's mostly copy pasting and routine. There are some other things I've done to help though, and that's browser extensions!
One I use is called Download All Images, which as you can assume, downloads all images on a page! You can also specify what kind of images you want to download. What I do is set it to add every gif that is 150x20 pixels (or bigger if I see that there are big blinkies on the page).
I also use GifsOnTumblr. If you've ever tried downloading gifs on Tumblr, you'd know Tumblr is a little weird about it. It always saves as a gifv, so you have to open the image link, then change the end of the link from gifv to just gif, click enter, THEN it downloads as a gif. It's not that hard, but let me tell you, now that I have an extension that makes it download as a gif immediately, it saves more time than you'd think!
That's about all I've figured out as far as maximizing efficiency here goes. If anyone else has any advice/ideas, I'd love to hear it! I've been at this since October (give or take, I'm not 100% on that), and as for the workflow, I'm wondering a bit how long it will take before all the blinkies I have are online. It seems like years for sure, but I think I can handle it if I'm slow when I need to be. As in, if I'm tired then I'll stop. I'm not going to treat it as something I HAVE to do, because then I'll burnout most definitely. I'm being chill about it. Especially since I'm currently on break from another huge project, believe it or not.
Just a few months ago, I burnt out from my other project, which is an animated music video I've been animating for almost two years (in which I initially planned out in 2020, started it in 2021, burnt out, cancelled it, then decided to try again and start it all over in 2023 and since). My point is, I'm very ambitious, often to a fault. I'm a workaholic. (I'm also ADHD, so I think being a workaholic is me overcompensating for it, at least partially.)
Because of that, I'm going out of my way not to take this too seriously. It's a passion project, and if it's not fun, then it's not a passion project, then what am I doing it for? Even so, my ambition cannot be held back! When I get excited on a project, I grind like crazy. I'm not scared by the idea of something taking a long time. I want to do this. I'm happy I'm doing this. I'm not going to pretend it's not a lot of work, but working is what I do! It's how I'm built. When I don't work, I feel like I start to loose it. It's not a matter of IF I work, it's a matter of WHAT I work on (and the intensity).
So, despite the somewhat daunting nature of such a big project, it makes me happy, and if it stops making me happy, then I'll stop doing it. It's as simple as that. That's about my feelings on the workload side of this. I can handle it, and if I'm wrong and I can't handle it, then that's okay too. But if anyone has any advice or ideas on how to make this process faster and/or easier, I'm more than open to hear it! (But don't give me ergonomics advice. I promise you I do every ergonomic thing in the book lol.)

A young entrepreneur who was among the earliest known recruiters for Elon Musk’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has a new, related gig—and he’s hiring. Anthony Jancso, cofounder of AccelerateX, a government tech startup, is looking for technologists to work on a project that aims to have artificial intelligence perform tasks that are currently the responsibility of tens of thousands of federal workers.
Jancso, a former Palantir employee, wrote in a Slack with about 2000 Palantir alumni in it that he’s hiring for a “DOGE orthogonal project to design benchmarks and deploy AI agents across live workflows in federal agencies,” according to an April 21 post reviewed by WIRED. Agents are programs that can perform work autonomously.
“We’ve identified over 300 roles with almost full-process standardization, freeing up at least 70k FTEs for higher-impact work over the next year,” he continued, essentially claiming that tens of thousands of federal employees could see many aspects of their job automated and replaced by these AI agents. Workers for the project, he wrote, would be based on site in Washington, DC, and would not require a security clearance; it isn’t clear for whom they would work. Palantir did not respond to requests for comment.
The post was not well received. Eight people reacted with clown face emojis, three reacted with a custom emoji of a man licking a boot, two reacted with custom emoji of Joaquin Phoenix giving a thumbs down in the movie Gladiator, and three reacted with a custom emoji with the word “Fascist.” Three responded with a heart emoji.
“DOGE does not seem interested in finding ‘higher impact work’ for federal employees,” one person said in a comment that received 11 heart reactions. “You’re complicit in firing 70k federal employees and replacing them with shitty autocorrect.”
“Tbf we’re all going to be replaced with shitty autocorrect (written by chatgpt),” another person commented, which received one “+1” reaction.
“How ‘DOGE orthogonal’ is it? Like, does it still require Kremlin oversight?” another person said in a comment that received five reactions with a fire emoji. “Or do they just use your credentials to log in later?”
Got a Tip?Are you a current or former government employee who wants to talk about what's happening? We'd like to hear from you. Using a nonwork phone or computer, contact the reporter securely on Signal at carolinehaskins.61 and vittoria89.82.
AccelerateX was originally called AccelerateSF, which VentureBeat reported in 2023 had received support from OpenAI and Anthropic. In its earliest incarnation, AccelerateSF hosted a hackathon for AI developers aimed at using the technology to solve San Francisco’s social problems. According to a 2023 Mission Local story, for instance, Jancso proposed that using large language models to help businesses fill out permit forms to streamline the construction paperwork process might help drive down housing prices. (OpenAI did not respond to a request for comment. Anthropic spokesperson Danielle Ghiglieri tells WIRED that the company "never invested in AccelerateX/SF,” but did sponsor a hackathon AccelerateSF hosted in 2023 by providing free access to its API usage at a time when its Claude API “was still in beta.”)
In 2024, the mission pivoted, with the venture becoming known as AccelerateX. In a post on X announcing the change, the company posted, “Outdated tech is dragging down the US Government. Legacy vendors sell broken systems at increasingly steep prices. This hurts every American citizen.” AccelerateX did not respond to a request for comment.
According to sources with direct knowledge, Jancso disclosed that AccelerateX had signed a partnership agreement with Palantir in 2024. According to the LinkedIn of someone described as one of AccelerateX’s cofounders, Rachel Yee, the company looks to have received funding from OpenAI’s Converge 2 Accelerator. Another of AccelerateSF’s cofounders, Kay Sorin, now works for OpenAI, having joined the company several months after that hackathon. Sorin and Yee did not respond to requests for comment.
Jancso’s cofounder, Jordan Wick, a former Waymo engineer, has been an active member of DOGE, appearing at several agencies over the past few months, including the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, National Labor Relations Board, the Department of Labor, and the Department of Education. In 2023, Jancso attended a hackathon hosted by ScaleAI; WIRED found that another DOGE member, Ethan Shaotran, also attended the same hackathon.
Since its creation in the first days of the second Trump administration, DOGE has pushed the use of AI across agencies, even as it has sought to cut tens of thousands of federal jobs. At the Department of Veterans Affairs, a DOGE associate suggested using AI to write code for the agency’s website; at the General Services Administration, DOGE has rolled out the GSAi chatbot; the group has sought to automate the process of firing government employees with a tool called AutoRIF; and a DOGE operative at the Department of Housing and Urban Development is using AI tools to examine and propose changes to regulations. But experts say that deploying AI agents to do the work of 70,000 people would be tricky if not impossible.
A federal employee with knowledge of government contracting, who spoke to WIRED on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the press, says, “A lot of agencies have procedures that can differ widely based on their own rules and regulations, and so deploying AI agents across agencies at scale would likely be very difficult.”
Oren Etzioni, cofounder of the AI startup Vercept, says that while AI agents can be good at doing some things—like using an internet browser to conduct research—their outputs can still vary widely and be highly unreliable. For instance, customer service AI agents have invented nonexistent policies when trying to address user concerns. Even research, he says, requires a human to actually make sure what the AI is spitting out is correct.
“We want our government to be something that we can rely on, as opposed to something that is on the absolute bleeding edge,” says Etzioni. “We don't need it to be bureaucratic and slow, but if corporations haven't adopted this yet, is the government really where we want to be experimenting with the cutting edge AI?”
Etzioni says that AI agents are also not great 1-1 fits for job replacements. Rather, AI is able to do certain tasks or make others more efficient, but the idea that the technology could do the jobs of 70,000 employees would not be possible. “Unless you're using funny math,” he says, “no way.”
Jancso, first identified by WIRED in February, was one of the earliest recruiters for DOGE in the months before Donald Trump was inaugurated. In December, Jancso, who sources told WIRED said he had been recruited by Steve Davis, president of the Musk-founded Boring Company and a current member of DOGE, used the Palantir alumni group to recruit DOGE members. On December 2nd, 2024, he wrote, “I’m helping Elon’s team find tech talent for the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) in the new admin. This is a historic opportunity to build an efficient government, and to cut the federal budget by 1/3. If you’re interested in playing a role in this mission, please reach out in the next few days.”
According to one source at SpaceX, who asked to remain anonymous as they are not authorized to speak to the press, Jancso appeared to be one of the DOGE members who worked out of the company’s DC office in the days before inauguration along with several other people who would constitute some of DOGE’s earliest members. SpaceX did not respond to a request for comment.
Palantir was cofounded by Peter Thiel, a billionaire and longtime Trump supporter with close ties to Musk. Palantir, which provides data analytics tools to several government agencies including the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security, has received billions of dollars in government contracts. During the second Trump administration, the company has been involved in helping to build a “mega API” to connect data from the Internal Revenue Service to other government agencies, and is working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement to create a massive surveillance platform to identify immigrants to target for deportation.

Why Digital Case Management Is Essential for Modern Social Services
Tumblr media
In today’s fast-paced world, social service organizations face mounting pressure to manage growing caseloads, maintain compliance, and deliver exceptional client support.
Digital case management systems have emerged as a vital tool to address these challenges, offering streamlined processes, improved data accessibility, and better client outcomes.
Here's why digital case management is essential for modern social services.
Streamlining Processes for Greater Efficiency
Traditional paper-based systems and outdated software often slow down workflows, creating bottlenecks and errors. Digital case management solutions automate repetitive tasks, such as scheduling, reporting, and document management.
By streamlining these processes, social service agencies can free up valuable time and resources, allowing staff to focus on what matters most—helping clients.
Improved Data Accessibility and Collaboration
One of the greatest advantages of digital case management is centralized data storage. Caseworkers can access real-time information from any location, ensuring they always have the latest updates.
This enhanced accessibility fosters collaboration among team members, enabling them to work together seamlessly, even in remote settings. Moreover, agencies can track progress and outcomes more effectively, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and transparently.
Enhanced Client Support
When caseworkers have access to comprehensive client histories and up-to-date information, they are better equipped to provide personalized support. Digital case management systems allow for a 360-degree view of each client’s needs, preferences, and progress.
This ensures that no detail is overlooked, leading to improved client satisfaction and better long-term outcomes.
Data-Driven Decision Making
Social service agencies rely on data to identify trends, measure impact, and allocate resources effectively. Digital case management platforms provide powerful analytics tools that turn raw data into actionable insights.
By leveraging these insights, organizations can make informed decisions, optimize service delivery, and demonstrate accountability to stakeholders.
