Okay. Either I meet someone online who I live in the same city as (2 houses. Not rich, still love w parents & one of them has a job required somewhere else) or when I’m older and w money I get myself a bookshop after creating accounts online to promote and have an Aziraphale’s bookshop-inspired (you guessed it) bookshop. And then get them (using gn as to keep identity even more secret 🤫) to rlly want to visit, have them visit, and surprise them w me being the owner/manager etc
Which one? Patience or no?

My Sam & Max cosplay I debuted at a local con during the weekend!
#wasnt wearing leg padding in these so sorry sams a bit skinny#sam and max#cosplay#crunchchute art#my art#i could remake the pants and jacket entirely but that would be quite hard actually. i suck at making jackets especially#so those are just thrifted and edited#lots of color differences that bug me but. oh well#pants and jacket arent that different but its noticeable in these pics#as well as maxs hands and feet. theyre slightly lighter as the fabric i used is better quality#but i ran out of the stuff i used on his body etc and i couldnt buy more from that store as they took their sweet time shipping the stuff#oh well. didnt make them for a competition so its okay#im my own biggest hater and my own biggest critic#at the end of the day i made a handful of people really happy and thats all that matters to me#gotta share them every chance i get as i usually just make a cos#wear it to the con and then put it on the shelf#but im too happy with these to just hide them away after#they need a good scrub and after that id like to bring them to another con. next main goal is viecc but thats just a maybe right now

I just realised I completely forgot to show my finished Arthur cosplay so here!!
You can find the process of me making the hat here! Everything including the hat and the materials was purchased second hand and using things I already had (the rope, jeans, journal, neckerchief, etc) so it's a very budget cosplay but I think it turned out well! The total came to about £45, there's receipts here if you're interested <3

my friend's bday party theme this year is tacky and i'm trying to think of an outrageous outfit but everything i come up with i could kinda eat tbh
#it's only in november lmao thank god i have time#rn i'm thinking i need a satin cheetah print skinny scarf / ascot#i can do a solid (and likely true vintage) 80s outfit w my purple blazer + gray pleated trousers#but i literally wore that to watch uhh poor things maybe? and i made my friend feel underdressed 😬#in my mind true tackiness is poor quality shein like fast fashion and needless to say i don't own that stuff#like the key thing is bad taste imo and i'm not sure i could fake that in an interesting way#i think i need to thrift a shirt w a stupid print. but it feels wasteful to buy something i won't wear later#some gold accessories would be nice too but again. i don't own those#need to dig through my mom's stuff#we acquired a lot of costume jewelry over time bc we used to throw a lot of themed parties in the family

I found socks with my favorite flowers on them (nasturtiums!), but they literally don't match anything I own, so making an outfit with them is difficult.. just all black with the bright shoes and a random stuffed animal for accents lol

It's more.. some random ebay seller in 2017 or something#so then that feels weird too because I thought the point of that being popular is so people can go find the things you're wearing and#buy them or whatever. but in my case that would never be helpful ghjbjk#since I also keep things so long. I have shoes and stuff Ive had since elementary school#good luck tracking down where I got these tights on ebay in 2011. good luck going to the bins or a thriftstore and finding the same#exact dress or etc. So then in that case does it even matter?? eh#The only sense I could see it being useful in is like. people seeing that they could make looks without spending a lot of money.#since I have had some comments on costumes or makeups before like 'omg I would love to look like this if I had the $$ for clothes *sad emo#ji*' or whatever. and I always want to message them and be like.. this entire outfit cost like $2.. you can do it. It's really funny comparing the sims 4 retail experience to the sims 2 retail experience because the sims 2 has it beat easily

becoming a data hoarder of crochet/knitting/sewing/embroidery patterns and books on my pc, laptop and phone. an ungodly amount fr.
#also finding good patterns for like 2 dollars at thrift stores and getting books out from the library has been VERY helpful#and so many have maker spaces#where you can sew/weave/embroider/whatever#the one at my local library is mega cool#cos the council realized the suburb next to mine (mine is too small to have a village center like the others so theirs is ours)#had been promised a new mall makeover and a new pool and a new bunch of stuff#and hadnt been given anything in like. decades.#and is also a suburb where a lot of working class and low income families live#so they went ''okay we should. do something and actually support this section''#and thats how we got our new million dollar suburb center building with a new library/cafe/preschool/pool/maker space#and suddenly people have a reason to stay in the area and spend more time at shops and have a study space#available right next to a park and a place for community and information!!!#and everyone is happier and spending more money at the surrounding shops because theyre visiting more often#like that whole project took 2 years but it was so worth it the maker space rules its got a recording booth and a 3dprintet and an engraver#a loom and all these other woodcraft/textile stuff#and i see teenagers from the 3 surrounding schools coming in to record music and/or rent out instruments!#and do carving and sewing and book clubs!!#and have a place to study!#when i was in hs we would walk down to the mall get sushi and sit in a field bcos there was nothing to do#now people from the same high school i have can access all this stuff!#and more online to print out#and partake in healthy hobbies and its like fuck!!! it makes me so happy!!!#all this to say if anyone wants a pattern for smth i can probs find a free one/one costing a few dollars by an indie creator

got a wool coat at the thrift store today... i'll have to severely alter it before it will actually fit me comfortably (and without looking like a hideous fucking sack), but if i absolutely HAD to throw it on and wear it out in a storm this winter, it would do.
before i get into altering a coat, though, i'm going to make some sweaters and probably a different coat that i have the fabric for, just to work out the pattern before i start cutting away from my extremely limited supply of 100% wool fabric
#stfu blue#sewing#reborking is prohibited#i'm not doing that shit some thrift flippers do where they get a plus size coat & re-cut it for an xxs body & waste a bunch of material dw#it's a size small/xs coat. i'm all of size small size xs AND size xxs all in different places#i'm just going to rejig it so that the material that's there is better organized over my proportions mostly. and make it look better also#i have to move the shoulders up to raise the armscye so i can make the sleeves narrower. i have to take in the waist a lot. stuff like that#it'll wind up shorter but still probably knee length so that's fine#i would prefer an ankle or mid-calf length coat generally speaking but i'm going to work with what i've got here. wool is fucking expensive#i might have to piece in panels to make things work out but that's okay i am more than capable of that#i would rather have some panels and piecing than have pockets halfway up my ribs where they're hard to use lol. we'll see how it goes

I had such a good day oh my god
#personal#started off cleaning and got A LOT done#and then met up with my friend!! and we went to this massive ass thrift store which is going out of business boooo#but! everything was 75% off#so i got a fuckton of stuff for just under $20#when originally it would have been closer to $80 yeesh#and then we went back to her house to pick up her husband and we went out for dinner#she took me to this indian place around the corner and oh my god???? so fucking delicious#she was like umm do you do spicy things? can you handle spice? and im like fuck yes i love spicy things lets go#shes half indian herself so im guessing she grew up with food like that#i ended up with leftovers too so now i have breakfast bless#chatted with her husband a bit too. i don't think either of us know how to start talking ahsjdjfjfi we'll figure it out later#then i went by spirit and one of my fav coworkers was there and she was like xan!!! and ran over and hugged me <3#it was really nicw#we caught up for a few mins and then i wandered and ran into a new coworker and i was like hi i like your shirt anyway youll be seeing#me soon lmaoooo#theyre like oh word#then we took a pic together and sent it to other coworker so she could see who she missed LMAO#very excited to go back to hang out with my friends#now im doing laundry and reading a new fic and honestly i feel like im about to fall asleep#i really wore myself out today#but it was very good

Look at the coffee table i got today! (The pic is from in the store lol i didnt get a tv) Its about 4Lx2Wx2H and itts real wood and the drawers work perfectly fine and are huge and ugh im so happy, we rlly needed a coffee table, and i got it for $56! The only way thatd be better is if i found one for free on the side of the road 😂
Not pictured but i also got 2 super nice jewlery boxes too! One i got for witchy reasons and the other because it matches so well to the one i have now and i like jewlery so its not just an impulsive buy lol

#the bin#sorry sorry im having existential dread and terror. literally i dont think ive ever felt worse then i do over the fact im gonna have to wor#some stupid job so often that contributes nothing and get paid so little and be in pain the whole time and have so little time for fun#inat least wnat something that pays a bit better and feels like im actually doing something#tnis whole go to work and cycle through this same loop of donated items and then watch so many of them get tossed is killing me#my job feels so meaningless because it is. i dont know how to describe why. i think a job at a grocery store doing stocking would feel at#different. this type of production work is just so draining mentally. its not samey enough to just be ignorable. it sucks#i go to work and sort through stuff and then put it on the shelves and then everything gets all messed up and fixed and messed up again#and it repeats and its not the same as if it were boxed. because at least that would feel just like whatever yknow. its this horrible#capitalist system disgused as something small and friendly. ive always felt this way about big chain thrift stores and now that i work at#one that feeling is so much stronger. '#'you love to thrift so why not work at thrift?' because it will crush your soul#sorry. i would rather like work at a store stocking a regular rotation of things and itd feel like corprate capitalism yattah yattah but#not pretending to be soemthing else. my coworkers are so nice but i hate this job#my managers are fine but theyre pushing more of tnis produce produce produce thing bc they have to and i dislike it a lot#like man i AM doing my best and its fast enough and its not even being said directly to me just everyone but it feels bad like they want#me doing this exact process for a job whee the things change. its not a bunch of same shape packeged blah blah its just an array of objects#a really boring array of objects that are all the same but also not the same enough to be easier#and you want to to act like its all packeged and stuff??#ugh i hate it. i think this is why i like hanging bags so much cause its a simple sorting pricess and simple to put them up
