My Pretty Boy

I don't want to glorify your eyes, because if I did, I could write novels about them, and it still wouldn't be enough. Your eyes-they remind me of love.

I don't want to glorify your voice, the way my name rolls off your tongue or the sound you make when you get excited about literally anything.

I don't want to glorify your smile, because I still can't find the words to describe what it does to me.

I don't want to glorify your hair-the way it falls over your forehead and reaches your eyes, your beautiful, beautiful eyes. Because how can I even begin to explain how much I want to run my hands through your hair all the time?

No, no, I don't want to glorify you at all. We're just friends, right? Friends aren't supposed to fall in love with each other.

But how can I not glorify you when one smile from you is all it takes to set off fireworks in my mind and butterflies in my stomach? When every time the wind brushes through your hair, I wish I could capture that air in a jar and treasure it forever? When I look into your eyes and see love and dreams.

But no, I won't glorify you. I will leave the rest of the pages blank and wish that maybe, just maybe, along the lines, in the quiet corners of your heart, you are glorifying me too.

Author's Note: This is just a snippet of a story I'm working on. It's not much, but I like it and wanted to share. Anyways, thank you for taking the time to read this, and as always, comments, likes, and reblogs are welcome.

“I really love it here,” Ava said, staring at the darkening sky. “It’s so peaceful and beautiful.”

            “Mmm hmm!” I agreed, staring up at the sky as well, heart pounding.

            “Mmm hmm!” Ava mimicked.

            I grimaced and looked at her, only to find that she was already staring at me with an unfamiliar look in her eyes. I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Was she in a daze from staring at the sky? What was this look? I was not sure, and I didn’t want to ask. However, when I think about it now, I think it was pure bliss and perhaps … fondness? No, I’ll just stick to bliss.

            Instead of asking, “What are you looking at?” or asking what I really wanted to know, “Why are you looking at me like that?” I just scoffed and looked back at the stars, which became brighter and brighter as day turned into night. To this day, I still think about that look. The way she stared at me gave me butterflies and hope, just not enough courage to say what I wanted to say at the time.

            Ava, we’ve been friends for a long time. Four and a half years, to be exact. You’re my best friend and the closest person in my life. I’d do anything for you, and I mean anything because our bond is so out of this world. What we have is so beautiful and rare. So, I guess I’m trying to say that, Ava, I love you. I loved you from the first time I saw you, and my love for you has only grown since then. I’m not sure if you feel the same way. I hope you do. If so, I would love to be your other half, the peanut butter to your jelly, the soul to your mate. Please, if you’ll have me, will you be mine?

            Instead, I lay next to her on the beach blanket on that beautiful night, gazing at the luminous stars, hoping that one day I’d find the courage to tell her exactly how she makes me feel.

[Event] Writeblr Secret Admirer 2023

THE EVENT

Welcome to the FIFTH annual Writeblr Secret Admirer event!!

Let’s spread some love and positivity on Valentine’s Day! This is an event where we are going to send and receive some secret admirer messages to people’s ask boxes.

By signing up, you are agreeing to send someone a really nice and loving ask on February 14th, 2023.

I, Undine (@pens-swords-stuff​) will be assigning you a person to send a secret admirer message to via asks.

I will also be assigning someone to send YOU a secret admirer message, so you’ll have something to look forward to on Valentine’s Day.

There is no particular criteria about what you have to send, as long as it’s kind and positive. It doesn’t have to be romantic or anything, just send them something nice! Some potential ideas include: sending them compliments; telling them that they’re amazing and loved; comment something you love about their blog; send them a sweet Valentine’s day poem, the options are endless and the only limit is your creativity.

HOW TO SIGN UP

Complete this survey. It basically just asks you to put in the Writeblr URL you would like to participate with for organization purposes, and a couple other reminders. If you do not complete this survey, you will not be signed up for the event. So be sure to fill it out!

Life is a bit chaotic right now, but I'm taking it as it comes and that seems to be working for me : ).

So all my WIPs and almost everything I write about (for creative pieces at least) all take place in the same universe. My main project is called Legacy of the Fallen and is what inspired me to build this fantasy world around it.

Though it starts off following the daily lives of four seemingly average students at a random school, it's quickly revealed that there's more to them that even they may be unaware of. One of these four, Jacob, serves as a bridge to the reality that their true identities had been hidden from them after their parents and families went into hiding thirteen years ago after their people suffered a massacre that ended with millions dead and their world in the hands of their enemies. They are connected with a sanctuary that serves as cultural re-education and emersion for their people, which is ruled by Maishear, Jacob's father. Though this academy is supposed to be safe, it is plagued with political controversy, mysterious disappearances, and a traitor in their midst. The newcomers and Jacob's team are thrown together to face the challenges ahead and the shadows of the past that plague them.

I have chapters 1-14 available to read for free right now and am continuing to update as I write/edit new chapters.

My other projects are based around this same timeframe, basically serving as a "behind the scenes" for a lack of a better phrase. I do have other concepts that I'm looking at expanding on soon though. The possibilities are limitless and I am chaotic so who knows!
