🔅REPOSTED🔅 . The Ilgrath Guardians from the second HHKC story that I'm going to write were dinosaurs that the Ilgrath Tribe had modified in the ancient times in order to fight the Drurginar clan. But these modified beasts were actually created out of regrets of the Tribe for being unable to stop the enemies from wiping out the entire Wesharian royal family in the past. That regret remained and was even passed on to their true descendants. . Even so, these Guardians remained loyal to the tribe that made them create the Ilgrath Swords as their way of determining their respective Knights to become a Phantom Berserker. ARSENALS: ⚜️Guardian Soulpieces - The crystallized parts of the Ilgrath Guardians imbued with the mystical powers of the Ilgrath Tribe members responsible for creating them. These came in handy for the Phantom Berserkers to use in order to combat the Drurginar Clan and activate their Phantom Guardian Armors. ⚜️Ilgrath Sword - The primary weapon of the Phantom Berserkers which can be said as sentient for the reason that the swords choose their masters. Writing: The power of Story Notes

I have to revise my entire story notes for Playmaker, because they were full of fluff and I had not revisited them for a while. Furthermore, I never actually completed them before beginning the first few chapters which, ladies and gentlemen, is a massive mistake. 

Know as much about your story before writing a single word. Write story notes. I usually open a document in Google Drive and get down a log-line. The author Kristen Lamb explains here why fitting your entire story into one sentence is essential before you begin planning. I wish I had read this advice before beginning a load of story notes. People say that writing is a creative process and shouldn’t be hindered by rules. I say that’s a load of hogwash. No structure and guidelines? No writing. Structure and guidelines inspire, not hinder, creativity. 

In my story notes, I begin with the logline, then a detailed summary. I add notes about why the story is being written, the location, and other basic details. Then I write a giant section on the characters, their arc, their motivations, their flaws, their needs and desires. I will then write a section on the plot, including the stasis, the conflict, and the resolution. From now on, I will not write a word until this section has been completed, otherwise all writing will grind to a halt. I know that I have the next chapter of my fanfic ready, but I am forcing myself to straighten out these bulky story notes before writing anything else. 

I also believe in writing a Table of Contents, too. Once the story notes are down, write out a Table of Contents, stating what will happen chapter by chapter. This will help you see the development of plot and character throughout. I didn’t do this beforehand, because I thought that chapters hindered my creativity. Load of rubbish! Having a strong plan and guidelines helps you run free with a pen. Fail to plan, plan to fail. I wrote on this over at my blog here. If you need to do some research, then a moodboard is a good way to go. I live in Britain, but my story is set in America. I have been downloading pictures and keeping a folder full of inspiration. This can help bring life to your writing, as explained in this excellent book called “Writing and Imagery”, by A. J Palmer.
