i was gonna blab about this gif a bit but ive decided to put it under the cut anyway look at suikaa <3

so a few days ago i was looking through kohaku pics i have saved and found that back in 2021 i really liked this cut from ep2 of stone wars but no one had giffed it and back then i wasnt doing gifs either but i liked it so much that i made a gif of it with ezgif.com LMAO

so when i saw it i was like ok now that i have a bit more experience lets try to make it myself so here it is, and for fun here is a comparison with that ezgif version i made (on the right)

so first off obviously the timing is different LMAO, i actually shortened my version to end at the same frame as the ezgif one for better comparison but it didnt matter bc ezgif had already changed the timing of each frame by itself, also the ezgif version is slightly bigger and obv doesnt have the slight edits i added, but it also has much lower file size, i barely got mine under 10mb

but anyway i have no idea what i learned from all this bc despite all the stuff i listed the ezgif version still serves its purpose perfectly well of showing off cool animation that i wanted to save, also i barely know anything about making gifs anyway so its not like mine looks super cool in comparison, shruggg but its fun to make them so wtw :3

HMMMM i used to be a diehard kpop stan back in 2017 but i’ve definitely lost my touch since 2021. i’d have to sayyy i used to be a big skz girl and nctzen, those two were my ults for a while. oh and an exol and atiny. and a moa. oh and an army back in like 2016 👩🏽‍🏫. i do also luvvv girl groups like twice, itzy, xg, red velvet, lsrfm, izone when they were still active and etc etc. if i had to summarize everything i just said, i’m a big 3rd-4th gen babe ☝️☝️

WTW GHOST GALA - DAY 9: Candy Corn

tell us how you chose the title of your wip

when putting my yearly escapril prompts into collections i picked a line from the first entry to turn into titles. my 2020 collection was titled underside of my tongue (from a poem about eos and hemera) and my 2021 collection was titled what the sun tastes like (from a poem about icarus). the first entry of my 2022 collection was about a concept that, ironically, came to me in a dream. it involved young adults with powers of oneiric creation filming themselves pulling things out of their dreams. the line i chose was originally "if you keep staring i'll never fall asleep" in full, and so we got keep staring and i'll never fall asleep.

when i decided to adapt my pjo ocs into an original ip i had to find a replacement for demigods, having been unable to make something out of that idea of oneiric creators i began worldbuilding around the concept of dreamers. i don't consider a wip official until it's titled and keep staring and i'll never fall asleep was just... perfect. i picked a different line from that first escapril 2022 entry to retitle the collection (until the dream dislodges) and the old title passed onto my new wip. it's an obvious title for a contemporary fantasy book revolving around oneiric creation (along with other dream-adjacent things). but i find it sort of poetic. i love that it feels menacing, almost like a warning. i love that it makes sleep seem almost dangerous. if i made the effort to keep analysing it i could say it relates to adam and piedad, the main conflict of the book, who haunt each other in dreams. i could say it's about the oneiroi (the physical manifestation of dreams) keeping watch over the dreamers.

A look at something I wrote every month in 2021. All of the above excerpts can be read in order at this link, and I've included a few notes below on the pieces and months in question. It feels as though I spent so much of my time writing for Patreon and editing Forest Castles and so on, but there was still a lot of fresh content every single month!

JANUARY - In Her Arms (unpublished)

COVID's been pretty bad, hasn't it? I think it's been pretty bad. Wrote this piece almost a year ago now to deal with it, and have workshopped it several times since. Eventually I'll get a version I'm happy with, and then you'll see it published!

FEBRUARY - KAY Valentine's Drabble 2 (read online)

I made sure to come up with something to post for Valentine's Day 2021-- a cute little moment between Kay/Atlas, and then Constantine/Julia. Still warms my heart to read over this... that transphobic dad of Kay's isn't always completely useless!

MARCH - mortālēs (unpublished)

I've had a lot of ideas for erotica this year (all excerpts here are SFW!) but haven't managed to post them yet-- I'd probably put them on a separate NSFW writing blog, as I've mentioned before. Well, here's one, inspired by my sudden apparent interest in historical m/f.

APRIL - Silvia (unpublished)

While in the car on the way to a more wintry setting, I listened through the entire Miike Snow self-titled album, and was struck by a sudden intrigue caused by this song. Here was something out of the box, intense, explosive in its unrequited emotion. I could see it all playing out in my head, so clearly I knew I was coming up with a 'true' narrative totally disconnected from the original... but, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't set it to paper. I'm going to let it percolate.

MAY - Forest Castles (first two chapters)

Again, I did edit FC year-round, so I only displayed it here in months where I honestly couldn't find any other new writing (probably hiding in the depths of my Drive.) This was a fun scene to write, though who knows if it'll survive later cuts.

JUNE - THE LOVER RISES FROM THE ABYSS・恋人が黄泉から生えてくる (read online)

I wrote this flash piece in either early June or late May, and then I was stuck revising it for quite a while. You can read about the process of that on Patreon! I worried over it until I felt it couldn't be worried over one second more... and then I edited it as I posted it on Tumblr ^__^

JULY - Something Weird I Heard About Rebecca (available in BLOOD&BREATH zine)

I wrote this so long ago! And, honestly, I expected to spend even longer editing and submitting it, but when the Blood & Breath submission form came around, I knew it was perfect. Preorder the LGBT vampire zine before January 5th to read the story in beautiful, physical form!

AUGUST - Forest Castles (first two chapters)

Day One Hundred And Seventeen Billion: Eliza Is Still Stuck In White Castle. To be fair, though, I remember when I thought I'd never reach White Castle! I hit quite a block around here, which I am still unsnarling, and I like that I've chosen to lean much harder into Eliza's princess nature.

SEPTEMBER - WTWBingo drabbles (read online)

Oh, God, what a timesuck! In addition to The Death of The Author (more shortly), in joining the WTWBingo event, I found myself tormented by hundreds of ideas for drabbles! Thanks so much to the WTW folks for inspiring me to write 10,000 words of these stories.

OCTOBER - The Death of the Author (read online)

I love Halloween. I love Halloween writing, and I love Halloween Episodes. More than all of that, though, I love murder mysteries, and so I am thrilled to present to you, with no further context whatsoever, The Death of the Author.

NOVEMBER - The Proposal (unpublished)

More erotica, with an eerie amount of people waiting on it. Very, very simple romcom MILF nonsense, which apparently is not only a thing I can write but something other people might want to read. I absolutely loved this piece, and it was responsible for my incredible 8K start on Day One of NaNo.

DECEMBER - Exhaustively (read online)

Exhaustively's had a big edit, and I'm now formatting it to release in limited edition paperbacks, in honor of beloved Archivist Max @goose-books! I highly recommend taking a look at it in this graphic (instead of just in the transcribed version) for full formatting joy. Also, I wrote 10,000 words in a day... but that didn't make it in here.

Man, was I prolific this year! I really enjoyed my writing, and I explored all sorts of artistic nooks and crannies (as Patrons especially will appreciate, what with all the experiments and behind-the-scenes things posted to Patreon this year. Fun Patreon surprise coming for free shortly...)

I also spent a lot of time on non-writing writing things, such Exhaustively's formatting, and, well, this Year in Review! I tried to show myself how much of my work wasn't just sitting and writing but reading and thinking and promoting and posting, and I think it worked... though I do miss just-plain-writing this week, as I wrap up all these New Yearly loose ends.

This upcoming year, I want to work more steadily on Forest Castles. It's hard to fit in with all my other priorities, especially when I don't have too much time to write a day. Do I need to set aside an amount of time daily to get it done, or is it better to dedicate full days? That's something I am still exploring.

wtw march madness: day 6- challenges 1-3

Challenge #1: Summarize your wip badly

Have 2 of my attempts

Escort mission (derogatory)

An attempted robbery ends with four thieves traveling across the continent on an escort mission, all the while arguing on whether their client is actually conning them or not.

Challenge #2: Write a book jacket summary

Jehan, a soldier-turned-thief, was content with simply getting by in life as long as he had food in his stomach, a roof over his head, and his quasi-family by his side. When faulty intel led his merry band of thieves to hijacking a prison caravan, what they found was not their promised treasure, but instead, a shivering boy dressed in rags and a steel gray veil shrouding his face.

Enter Vasily, a mysterious boy claiming to be the deposed king of Kossiya who was imprisoned as a child by his uncle. He enlists Jehan’s group to embark on a dangerous journey from the Corps de Fleuris to the glittering courts of Kossiya where he claims to have allies that will help him take back his throne. Jehan is skeptical, but outvoted by his group and tempted by the promises of riches and a life free from thieving, he accepts the job.

Though as the journey goes on and the dangers increase, Jehan and his group begin to wonder if this mission is really worth their lives— and whether or not their client really is who he claims to be.

Challenge #3: Trace your wip’s development over time

→ The idea for Ivan wip first started when I came up with its magic system in August 2021.The simple concept was a 4 element magic system where every time you use it, the elements lashed back at you.

→ A few days later, I had some more thoughts on the magic system and how magic users would be used and treated in that world, and how basically there was very little separation between magic and the state. While magic users in this world are their own separate castes…they don’t exactly gain many benefits from it.

→ But it was hard to explore a magic system without a world (and thus a story) to put it in, so I started thinking of possible plots that I could play with. Inspiration struck when I decided on doing a Man in the Iron Mask type of beat and began doing some light research on all the possible theories people had on the prisoner’s identity. One of the theories was that the man was either the French king’s brother or the illegitimate son of Charles II.

→ I knew the set-up I wanted, and I knew that I wanted at least a 4-man band so I could explore the effects of all 4 elemental magics. However, at the time, I wasn’t interested in writing the story just yet.

→ Over the next few months, I’d jot down a few ideas I had for the world and the characters. Nothing substantial about the story itself, but just enough to keep my mind interested in it.

→ WTW Winx Club event came along, and it was honestly the perfect opportunity to start a new wip since I felt burnout from WCTD and just not up to doing TSDNBU. I looked through my list of back-burner wips, and Ivan wip was probably the one I was most interested in at the time, so here we are.

Title: You Feel It Just Below the Ribs Authors: Jeffrey Cranor and Janina Matthewson Publication Date: November 2021 Publisher: Harper Perennial Genre: fiction, science fiction, dystopian

For fans of the podcast, Within the Wires, this book is for you. There’s so much more worldbuilding that will satisfy your needs to have more of this universe. A side note: I haven’t listened to the audiobook, but that that might be worth checking out to continue the audio drama experience— You technically don’t have to know anything about the podcast to enjoy this book, though more on this towards the end.

YFIJBTR is thought-provoking with the way it poses philosophical questions that border on the existential. More interestingly, though, is the way this story is narrated not by one but two narrators. And it’s here that you get into the heart of what this book is asking you to decide: How do you determine who to believe?

The book is an autobiography of our protagonist, Dr. Miriam Gregory, who guides the reader through her life and what’s happening in the increasingly dystopian world she lives in. Curiously, this autobiography has footnotes and interludes that counter much of what Dr. Gregory is writing, going so far as to accuse her of falsifying information or showing blatant ignorance. As the autobiography continues, this meta-narrator in the footnotes gets increasingly hostile towards Dr. Gregory, putting the reader in a position of working out whether they should believe the footnotes (which have been providing seemingly factual information), or Dr. Gregory’s account, who was present at these events.

I will say that I thought the pacing was a little wonky. It started off slow, found a good pace towards the middle, but then felt a little too fast towards the end. I think this might be especially off-putting for those who aren’t familiar with the podcast universe, just because more and more concepts were introduced towards the end that weren’t fully explained. Again, you can technically read this book without any knowledge of the WtW universe, but I can easily see why those unfamiliar with the podcast may find this book somewhat frustrating.

Overall, I enjoyed it, but I approached the book having listened to the podcast. The book is still worth checking out, especially for its approach to storytelling, but I do caution those unfamiliar with the podcast that it might be a little harder to fully enjoy it.

June: I can’t say I’m that surprised considering I literally made WTW but I’m still honored that people voted me regardless!

WTW: what do you think you’ve done so far that’s made the most impact on writeblr?

June: I’d say Welcome to Writeblr is the most impactful thing I’ve done so far. We’ve grown so much in such a short amount of time and I’m looking forward to where we go from here. I have a lot of things planned for WTW in 2021!

WTW: What’s your biggest piece of advice to other writeblrs? (Writing or Blog related)

June: I’d say to just do what you like and don’t try to copy others. Some things work better for others and that’s just the way it is. Making your own brand and sticking to what your good at doing is the best thing you can do because everything has something that makes them different!

WTW: What’s been your favorite part of being a writeblr so far?

June: The community of course! I’ve made so many friends on here and they’ve all been so supportive of everything. I’ve grown so much more confident thanks to these people and I’ve written more than ever thanks to them. I owe almost everything to writeblr for making me who I am today.

WTW: What are your biggest goals for the next year in terms of being a writer?

June: I’m going to make more progress on my WIP Unsuper and hopefully outlining things for my other WIPS!

WTW: What are your top 3 blogs?

June: This is hard because I have so many recommendations, but I’ll narrow them down just for this. @moariin aka Reni has been a blog I’ve followed since I joined writeblr and I look up to her so much! I love everything she makes and I her style has inspired so much in my own. I also love @atelierwriting aka Tris who has also been a blog I’ve followed since the beginning. She’s such a good and helpful friend and I’m so glad to be friends with her! I’m so grateful for everything she’s done for me. Finally I’ll have to go with @tsainami aka Sai who once again is someone I’ve followed for such a long time! Her wips are some of my favorites on this website and I’m always blown away by everything she posts.

Her current WIP is We Are Unsuper. A science-fiction and fantasy dystopian set in a world where superhumans and regular humans live in a divided world where superhumans are used against their will for the so-called benefit of humanity. The story follows a rich socialite who’s mysterious father runs the floating city and a former superhuman slave who fights with the rebel group Unsuper who both end up on the front line of the revolution of a changing world.

Well holy sh*t. AON takes a $1bn forfeit on the WTW deal rather than sell off more business. Friends told me I was crazy when I predicted it. Seems a big win for anti-trust and the DOJ. Love it!

How long until the stock tanks and Greg Case is (rightly) kicked to the curb? Today is July 26, 2021. T-? And counting.

terus mampir ke fesbuk gue, dia minta support band-nya untuk sekedar like di forum band dia..

(( Udah gue like ya bay dimasa 2012 itu )) gausah nagih like dijaman sekarang karena udah bukan masanya kita ke acara gigs wkwk

Eh berlanjut lah ke chat²an di pesan fesbuk ..

Yang gue inget kala itu pas gue bls chat-an dia adalah : gue manggil lu apa yah, gue mau manggil lu beda sendiri pokok nya ..

Terus bls lah si bayu dengan bilang : "terserah elu mau manggil gue apa"

Sampai saat itu gue mikir nama dia kan Bayu Rubianto, gimana kalo gue manggil lu Rubi aja ?

Bayu : yaudah bebas deh lu mau manggil gue apa ..

Lo tau gak bay sampe saat ini kontak di hp gue nama lu selalu gue tulis RUBI dan gue manggil lo selalu bii dari jaman 2012 sampe 2021 panggilan kesayangan bgt kan sampe pacaran sekarang pun tetep manggil lo dengan Bii ?

Bii itu bukan abi or baby ? Tapi ya Rubi ! Eakkkkk ~

Karena mungkin pesan²an di fesbuk gitu² aja akhirnya kita berlanjut lagi nih di WTW-an fesbuk. Pada jaman itu WTW-an atau biasa di sebut ((Wall To Wall)) dimana kita bales²an wall²an pesbuk si dia padahal kita bisa aja dulu bales itu wall dia dengan komentar di wall-an yang dia kirim ke kita,tapi gatau kenapa jadi malah demen nge bala di wall orang .. 😂😂

wkwkwk ngakak sih gue kalo inget itu bay sumpah 🤣

Dan akhirnya berlanjut lah kita di sms. Ternyata kita kenal pas di jaman sms-n adalah media terbaik setelah pesan fesbuk dan dinding fesbuk loh bay, dimana kalo lo sms selalu bilang "udah pulang sekolah belom lu tablo?"

Atau "sorry ya tablo gue baru bangun, dan setiap sore pasti lo selalu sms gue dengan bilang baru kelar ngepel nih, lo lagi apa dah tablo ?"

Gue gak tablo sumpah, tapi gatau kenapa lo demen bgt manggil gue tablo --")/kzl/

Kalo HP Nokia gue masih ada mau gue jadiin saksi bisu sms-n sama si bayu karena di hp itu sms dia masih ada !

(( Dan hp-nya entah gue taro mana sampe saat ini belom bisa nemuin itu hp kemana yah bay ))

Gue gatau kenapa kita sering bgt sms-n, wtw-an , chat2an pesbuk tapi ga pernah ada niatan nelepon or ngobrol langsung ..

Segitu canggungnya kah kita ? Padahal udah sering komunikasi ckck

Eh pada akhirnya kita lost contacts mungkin belom jodohnya kala itu ((( sedih nih gue pas buka fesbuk lu liat dp lu tapi yaudahlah)) hidup gue akan terus berjalan mencari bahagiaku ada dimana kala itu ngomong pada diri sendiri wkwk

Sekalinya kita dipertemukan ya dijaman kita udah sama-sama kuliah ya bay, bangga akutuh anak band akhirnya kuliah keperawatan juga :')))

Itu pas seminar dr. Boyke di puspem tahun 2014 inget kan gue ? Keren lah perempuan daya ingatnya emg terbaik untuk merekam segala memory ..

Itu gue cuma sekadar nyapa dengan bilang "eh bayu?" Udah lo cuma nengok bilang iya abis itu kabur ?? :")

Woy sekalinya ketemu cuma di bilang eh iya terus kabur dia ..

Ini kaya dia gatau gue atau emg gue aneh saat ketemu :((

Yaudahlah gue juga ga begitu mikirin, dan akhirnya seiring berjalannya waktu gue tetap berteman di sosial media sama si bayu walaupun ga saling sapa tapi diam2 aku memperhatikan kamu ~~ eakk ..

Ini kalo gue ceritain panjang lebar bisa ga kelar nih, orang gue bahas sama bayu aja bisa seharian sambil minum kopi + ngemil + ngetawain diri sendiri pernah alay, pernah bucin, pernah tersakiti .. ya pokoknya asam manisnya cinta ku menemukan mu lah wkwk ..

Terakhir bgt ketemu bayu pas gue sama² profesi sama dia nih di RSU kabupaten.

Kala itu gue mau beli minum ke kantin gue jalan di lorong petantang petenteng sensirian sambil tangan gue masukin ke kantong saku depan baju, eh kebetulan papasan lah sama bayu di lorong RSU karena gue tau di gebetan gue jaman SMK ya gue menyapalah dia "loh bayu?" Menyautlah si bayu dengan bilang " eh lhoren, dines dimana ?"

Di soka nih bay, lo dines dimana ?

"Oh gue di kemuning atas, duluan ya ren" . Oh iya bay saut gue .

Tetep ya bay papasan samping gue ga pernah nyapa, duduk belakangan sama gue di kantin juga ga nyapa sampe gue bilang dalem hati "padahal gue sama lu dulu deket bgt giliran bisa ketemu malah sombong kayak ga kenal" ckckck ..

.

Tetep gue ga pernah ambil pusing karena udah beda tahun beda juga rasa gak kyk jaman SMK dulu ..

.

Singkat cerita ? Udah kepanjangan padahal ceritanya :(

Pas kita udah sama-sama kerja mulai lah dia follow nih ig gue pertama kalinya setelah melewati masa² kuliah tapi gue gak acc ada kali 3bulan baru gue acc . (gue mau sok jual mahal karena sebel di sombongin elu jaman PKL ) hufffttt :((

Eh gak lama DM minta nomor hp, ya karena gue sama dia udah kenal lama bgt gue kasih lah nih nomor hp ..

.

Dan ga sengaja gue bikin quotes galau eh di komen "galau mulu mbak" padahal gue gak galau,dari situ deh mulai chat2an, pap²an foto pas bayu lagi dines dan Bayu paling siaga nemenin gue jaga malem dan itu pas gue lagi dines malem sendirian. Rela tidur malem bangun subuh terus vc nanyain gimana pasien lu ? Aman gak ? Dan bla..bla..bla

Dan dari situlah awal mula gue kembali menumbuhkan benih² cinta yang sudah lama di padamkan.

Gue persingkat aja deh, sejak masa itu dan sampai masa sekarang gue adalah orang yang beruntung kenal Bayu di tahun 2012 dan dipertemukan kembali pas sudah sama-sama kerja dan punya tujuan hidupnya seperti apa .

Semoga tahun ini tahun-nya kita untuk menjalin hubungan yang lebih dari sekedar kekasih untuk tahap lebih mantap lagi ya bii:)

ah i meant to bring this up the other day! but! i had a thought. since violet is bringing her one woman show to north america, maybe V could bring hers in second half of year. since we don't know what she's doing yet. other options? maybe wtw north america again but doesnt that seem a bit repetitive? Vegas Live i *think* i saw (sorry no receipts but i swear i saw it somewhere) was extended to jan 2021 so maybe she comes back? I dunno! I WANT A TV SHOW! but that would prob take 1-2 months max no?

TV show is the first thing I want from V...secondly I want a one woman show in the US. I want to be able to do a meet & greet where I KNOW I am meeting Vanessa. You don’t get that with WTW.
