New hyper fixation unlocked: Witchblade

I just watched all 24 episodes last night (don’t ask how much I slept), but I LOVED IT. I decided to watch after hearing about anime news dropping soon, and I always wanted to check it out.

At surface level, it might come off like the regular ecchi stuff but I was pleasantly surprised at the nuance and depth behind the characters and story.

I don’t plan to go super in depth in this post (and probably will keep it surface level when I’m making posts) but there is so much that could be dissected. From tackling Gender roles to understanding the depth of family relationships & love, there is much more to Witchblade then I could have expected.

P.S: The source material is an American Comic! I find that to be pretty awesome, so I might dive into the comics one day 👀.

With a splash of Romance

For those of you that (may) know me well, you should know I love romance. Sometimes I see two characters and ship them without any actual evidence to a ship or sometimes I do see evidence. Witchblade was one of those times where I felt like I was projecting romantic tension between two of the characters but was RIGHT!

Reiji gives off big dick energy dilf vibes and Masane is a cream of the crop milf. Perfect for each other. I love the chemistry between these two, going from an argumentative dynamic to hiding their sexual tensions, to actually falling in love with each other after understanding what each other fight for. Just some really beautiful stuff, and I got a weakness for it.

Overall, I just love the simplicity of a well put together 24 episode anime! Can’t wait for the anime news!!
