Imagine an MC who is friends with Dark Choco (and doesn't know that choco is a yandere) finding him murdering someone that they knew, like a neighbor or something

And Choco's just like "shit."

And then one day they’re looking for their one friend- and sees Dark Choco there with a bloody corpse and his sword covered in strawberry jam too.

“Dark Choco? Did you...kill them?"

He slowly turned around, still holding his sword. The red gem seemed to glow brighter than usual.

"I did. I...I killed them."

MC can feel the absolute horror their mind is racing through, wondering what would cause him to kill again. After all, he always spoke of regretting his actions.

"Why? Why did you kill them? They never did anything wrong."

He was silent for a moment, letting go of his sword. He slowly walks up to MC, and before they could even move away, he's hugging them tight: just barely loose enough to not choke.

"Because you're all I have. And I hated seeing them take your attention away."

He rested his head on top of theirs.

"I need you."

it all started off so innocently, with you insisting on tending to his wounds when he’d stumbled into your village, injured and disoriented after a mission gone wrong for dark enchantress cookie

he was a stranger to you, could have been anyone, yet you still opened your home and your heart to him, delicately wrapping and cleaning his cuts and scrapes and apologising every time he grunted or flinched

you were so kind and warm and selfless — everything he wasn’t, everything he could never be

a light in the darkness of his painful existence

and he had to have you

you insist on him staying overnight and lend him a blanket that’s far too small for his bulky frame but he accepts it graciously — though he refuses to sleep in your bed and insists he’s fine taking the settee

it’s a short argument but you relent on the condition that he calls for you if he needs anything, which he agrees to

and he can’t believe how open and trusting you are — so innocent to the evils of the world

he needs to protect you, to covet you

he’ll stay with you for the duration of his recovery, even intentionally reopening some wounds to length the time spent in your care — basking in your kind treatment and your voice and your gentle touch as you tend to him

he’s there for half a year before the need to leave becomes pressing and he’s called away by his fellow members of the c.o.d

you make him promise to visit, but he never had any intention of leaving you for long

the assignment only takes you a few weeks but he decides to keep a distance from you for a few months

watching your every move, stalking you as you go about your daily life until he’s comfortable enough to go back to you

he makes note of every smile and laugh and interaction you have, his own jealousy and anger skyrocketing and simmering just below the surface

contained only by his need to be a better man for you

to be the type of man you deserve

so he doesn’t attack anyone

not for a while

not until he sees him; the man with too much hair and a too wide smile and eyes that wander and hands that trail further than they should

he lashes out that same night and kills him in the woods, mutilating his body fat beyond what would even be recognisable as human

and he disappears for a few days after that, ridden with guilt and yet needing to reunite with you more than anything

so when he finally returns, it’s after inflicting a few flesh wounds on himself to make himself appear more harmless to you

and it works, of course

one of your neighbours had just turned up dead, what if the culprit had attacked him too! you wouldn’t turn him away

and he’d been counting on that

you tend to him again and this time he’s the chatty one

he’s open — well, as open as someone as him can be — and he’s even making jokes that he knew would make you laugh

it works and the tension eases and you’re talking like old friends as you finish patching him up

like friends where he knows more about you than you do about him, referencing things offhandedly that he should have no way of knowing — that you brush off because maybe you just told him the last time he was here and forgot

like friends where he brushes off every question about himself and only wants to talk about you — but you let it slide because you don’t want to upset him

like friends but his humour and his laughter and his voice are so perfect that before even a week has passed you’re no longer talking like friends and are now settling into the title of ‘lovers’

lovers where he can never seem to get enough of what you have to say and will scare the living daylights out of anyone who tries to get you to quieten down

lovers where whenever he has to leave, he’ll scatter romantic notes about your home that have you teary-eyed and even more in love

lovers where he’ll greet you with a kiss and a dip that has your head spinning as you giggle at his open affections

lovers where he never lets you go out alone and will always stick by your side when you leave the house

lovers where he’ll sit beside you and comfort you when another one of your neighbours has been found dead in their home, letting you cry it out for as long as you need

lovers where he’ll promise that he’ll protect you no matter what and that he’ll never leave your side — never

and you believe him. you always believe him

every excuse, every lie, every story he’s told you believe

you believe him when he says it’s too painful to discuss his past or the scar on his eye or his attachment to his sword

you believe him when he says he can’t tell you where he’s going when he leaves

you believe him when he expresses grief and sadness over the loss of your neighbours as one after another is found dead

but only the ones who were close to you

you believe him because you love him and he loves you and that’s all you need

and that’s why you’ll never know the truth, not for as long as he can help it — he’d like to keep your little sphere of domestic bliss separate from the violence of his world for as long as possible

The castle was big.

The castle was cold.

The castle was quiet.

The castle never let a sound out.

The castle never let an outside sound in.

The castle had heavy doors that kept you locked in.

The castle, it was all his castle.

Your family sold you off to the highest bidder.

You were always told you were never good enough to run your family’s kingdom, that you didnt have what it takes to rule. Your perfect younger sister was put in charge.

Your family didnt want you anymore, thought you were just weighing your sister down. So they sold you. They didnt care who wanted you, just wanted you out. Your sister was ment to marry Dark Choco, heir to the Dark Cacao Kingdom, a powerful nearby kingdom.

You father had letters sent to kingdoms saying he was marrying you off to anyone that had interest.

a mysterious letter came in saying they would buy you for four million. Your parents of course accepted and had your bags packed and sent you off as fast as they could.

thats how you got in this situation. In the arms of the man your sister was ment to marry. You didnt love him, he treated you like a pet, a doll even. You tried countless times to offer back the money he spent for you but he always declined. His eyes held a certain look of lovesick, obsession, and possessiveness. The way he looked at you made you wanna curl up and cry, the way he would pull his sword out every time someone that wasnt him talked to you.

“My love, you’re so pretty..” One of his hands snake around your waist, other placed on your collarbone playing with the black gem necklace he dressed you up in.

You choose to look off into the distance, ignoring what hes saying.

“hm. Wont you speak for me darling?” Dark Choco’s hand inches closer to your neck until its loosely around it.

You look at him in his eyes. “I wanna go home” you whisper.

Dark Cacao just looked at you, his hand on your neck moves up to grab your chin, forcing your face closer to his. He stares into your eyes for a bit before speaking. “You are darling.”

Tears escape your eyes, onto his hand trailing down is wrist, then falling onto your lap.

“My family needs me” you sob. Your vision begins to blur and you cant see the his menacing smile.

“If they needed you they would have never sold you off, now would they?” He loosen his grip on your face and caresses your cheek with his thumb. “You should be on the throne right now, ruling the kingdom that is rightfully yours. But no, they chose your younger sister.”

He was right, he was always right.

“But its alright, your mine now. I’ll give you the life your parents couldnt seem to give you.” He kisses your tear stained cheek.

hello! you can call me papaya! i am an autistic nonbinary/genderfluid asexual lesbian! i go by she/he/they/it with no preference, so use whatever you'd like to refer to me!

here, i will write cookie run x reader headcanons and such based on your requests! i might reach into bits of writing sooner or later, but for now it'll just be headcanons.

i play both ovenbreak and kingdom, but there are some characters i don't feel confident writing for. if i don't, i'll let you know.

when you first interact with him, dark choco cookie is cold and distant. don't forget about his terribly low self-esteem!! he thinks he simply doesn't deserve the friendship you're offering him.

however!! with each attempt to befriend him, he'll slowly start to trust you. and after a while, he falls in love with you.

your smiles, your determination, your... your everything! it's so charming to him, and he loves it so much.

for the first time in ages, dark choco cookie felt genuinely happy with another cookie. it's a feeling he never got to experience again after everything that happened to him, and he'll do his best to keep it with him, forever.

dark choco will be completely enamored with you, and since you're low-key the only person he trusts, the only person he wants to be with forever, you're definitely not gonna leave his side for a lil' while!!

Gingerbrave and Strawberry Cookie beside him, staring in awe as he took out the letter from it's confinement. "Oh?" Carefully fixing the puffy skirt, the queen tries to carefully descended off the throne.

To which Pure Vanilla Cookie quickly aids her. "Thank you Pure Vanilla, I'm not used to this kind of get up." "It's alright my sweetest queen, it's a honor." (Y/N) lets him guide her to the young magic user. "Your highness," Wizard Cookie starts, giving a small nod of acknowledgment to Pure Vanilla Cookie.

"A sugar gnome had given this to me before I came to deviler my daily report of magical findings."

"I see, would you mind reading it to me, Wizard Cookie?"

"Of course! *Ahem!* "Dear Queen (Y/N) Cookie, rightful ruler of [Kingdom Name]. May we humbly request for your presence at Her Majesty Hollyberry's Royal Gala." "

"Are you sure that is wise? He's still so young and those responsibilities seem a bit too much on his tiny shoulders." (Y/N) questioned the powerful healer, remembering Custard Cookie The Thirds, story quest.

To put it bluntly, not at all. She would act frosty cold to her darling, she’s not really one for acts of affection. With the exception of an icy kiss to the forehead once every blue moon.

How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?

Raspberry Cookie is no stranger to bloodshed, while she may grieve for that spilled of her compatriots, when it comes to her darling anyone is an enemy. She is not afraid to draw her sword, whether challenging someone to a blatantly unfair show of swordsmanship at dawn or ending their life in the moment in an alleyway away from prying eyes.

Red Velvet would try his best to refrain from making his darling do anything they didn’t wish to, but if push came to shove he would not be afraid to resort to less savoury methods to make them do something against their will.

He tries not to show it but he does, quite a bit in fact. He is of the mindset that his darling is so much better and purer than him, so he has no right to be up in their face all the time, but the least he can do for them is protect them from any possible threats, the raw intimidation of his latched line of sight as he grips his sword is enough to send any friendly cookie looking to have a conversation with you running!

Love Letters | Kumiho Cookie

How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?

Kumiho is excellently trained at the art of charisma, and has no trouble sidling up to her darling and striking up a conversation even if she’s a stranger to them. With flirtatious words and devilishly charming actions she’s confident she can charm her way into their heart.

Are their true colors drastically different from the way they act around everyone else?

Affogato’s mannerisms are so incomprehensible nobody can truly tell what he’s thinking, and he’s not afraid of other people noticing his affection for his darling. If anything, he capitalises off of it.

How many rights would they take away from their darling?

None at all!!!! She prizes being pure and honest above all things, she would encourage truthfulness from her darling and build absolute trust between you two, gifting you things and writing you songs with the utmost earnestness! Your happiness is her priority, how could she help that if she took things away from you?? That simply wouldn’t do!

Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go?

Absolutely not, Twizzly doesn’t have a remorseful bone in her body. She would find glee in her darling’s captivity if anything, and would never ever let them go. Not without multiple trackers, just for the thrill of the hunt of course! They’d never actually get anywhere but their fear makes her excited! Regret is for people who go soft and mushy, and she is nothing if not sharp and dangerous.

Would they do anything different from the classic yandere?

Precise temperature, precise quantity, precisely perfect darling. Espresso is a perfectionist in every manner of the word and this carries over to his beloved. They must be perfect, no matter what. No order ignored, no feature flawed, no mistake overlooked. If they’re not, he’ll shape them into his image of perfection with an outlook similar to that he uses when teaching, the carrot and the stick. No matter what, he wants his darling to be impeccable.

What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?

It would be very hard to escape the careful and calculating Blackberry Cookie, but if it came to it, her attachment issues relating to Adventure Cookie and her duty-bound outlook on life. If you brought up Adventurer Cookie there would likely be some old wounds you would be pouring salt on, enough so to put her into a right state. If you used her selfless outlook against her by requesting something, she would do her best to comply if she thought it wasn’t dangerous.

By the light no! He’s honestly too dense to be worked to the end of his tether, if you insult him or push away his affections he’s likely laugh it off and pull you into an embrace regardless. Okay, hear me out on this one.

What if the reader USED to love Cacao?

Allow me to explain,

The reader was actually courted and taken on dates by a younger version of cacao. They loved it and him. Dates to watch the sea? Loved that the most. Eventually, after courting the reader for long enough, he pops the question which the reader says yes! Oh how they both were happy!

That is.

Until his love became more and more obsessive. The reader can't get anything done with him constantly looking over their shoulder. He even puts an arm over the reader whenever they go on walks together.

It was suffocating and emotionally draining.

The reader hit their limit when they overheard him threatening their best friend with banishment. So, They decided to end it with him!

But, we all know where that got him.

A/N: man, I love writing for Dark Cacao as a yandere-

I can see Dark Cacao's potential as a yandere due to his overprotective nature towards Reader Cookie but before we go through his circle of madness, let's go back to the beginning of your love story with this lonely king who holds great power of both his kingdom and his soul jam.

Just like what I've mentioned, Reader Cookie came from the Milk Tribe. However, Reader Cookie isn't actually a cookie who was born within the tribe but was adopted by two milk farmers when they're still an infant, abandoned within the cold environment as wolves stared towards the helpless child. They were saved and raised as if you were their own child.

As you grew into adulthood, that's when the young Dark Cacao saw you for the first time. Enamored by your quiet personality, reading countless of books and giving him enough milk to his fellow friends (aka the ancients) when they arrived at your village for the first time. The young prince didn't mind your kindness towards the others, unbothered even but couldn't resist on the sound of your voice whenever you talk about some of your favorite books or how you kept on persuading him and his friends to take some of your delicious and sweet milk for their journey back home.

What you didn't realized is that the young cookie you recently befriended was not other than the king who ended the feud between the dragons of the north and south. A king who was one of the guardians of peace and was crowned as the king of the newly established Dark Cacao Kingdom.

And that's when the newly crowned king realizes that he was indeed in love and gained intense feelings for you, a mere peasant who came from the milk tribe who takes care of him and his friends during their difficult journey within the blizzard. He admitted once to his friends that your knowledge and intelligence was kinda attractive too, if he's honest.

So, he came the a few months after his ruling and presents to you a bracelet made from the finest stones and gems he found within the citadel's walls. It still has the lingering coffee smell, it was pleasant and quite beautiful for a simple bracelet. He asks you for your hand in courtship and admitted that he gained such feelings of happiness and love whenever he's around you. Imagine his adorable smile when the moment he heard that sweet yes from your lips, hugging you tightly as your family and friends cheered for this newfound celebration.

The young king spoiled you alot! Taken on special dates and giving you lots and lots of gifts (mostly books) that reminds him of you. Let's not forget about the time the two of you have that sweet first kiss during a snowball fight as the two of you landed on the soft snow below.

And after 200 dates, he was finally ready to settle down with you, not only as his lover but as the co-ruler of his kingdom and if you want, to raise a family with him. He presents to you a box and opens it, containing a tiara with huge gems placed within the tiara's exterior. His soft hearted "marry me and make me the happiest cookie in all of Earthbread?" Is what convinces you that this cookie, kneeling in front of you with a box on his arms is truly the one for you. I mean, despite being king, Dark Cacao still treats you with so much love and adoration. You dated him not because of his royal status but also because he's a compassionate and protective cookie.

So you said yes, marking the first mistake you ever made.

As time goes on, more and more red flags began to appear on your fiance. He would constantly glare those cookies who took an interest towards you as his hand around your waist drew you closer towards him. He kept on berating you that you're so selfish on having so many people in your life when the only cookie who's worthy of your love was right in front of you. Manipulate and sabotaging your relationships (wether it was familial or purely platonic) to the point that you felt alone and came crawling back into his arms.

The last straw is when you heard in the throne room that one of your friends deserved the ultimate punishment; to be banished outside of the kingdom.

You shouted for you fiance to stop this nonsense and asked him what drove him to banish your friend when he didn't do anything to betray the king and the entire kingdom. His reason? This cookie was one of your closest friends and was indeed a crime to even take a glance at the future king/queen of the kingdom.

So you told him the ultimatum; it's either he would stop his delusional and possessive antics, giving you and your friend the freedom you both deserved and you'll stay with him or he continues walking on this dangerous path and you'll be gone, no longer being his fiance and leave his kingdom for good.

He didn't like this, not even one bit.

In other words, you decided to choose to stay with those cookies whom you cared so much rather then him? He should be the deserved your love and affection. He should be the one alone being the most important cookie on his life. You deserve to be one of the royals living in the Citadel and the one bringing him an heir to this kingdom (aka Dark Choco Cookie).

He waved his hand, a sign that the king and his lover wanting to have their alone time. Many of the cookies are leaving, including your friend who was held prisoner until the king decided to his final punishment. He stood up from his throne and walks forward towards you. Dark Cacao was taller then you, stronger even but you didn't feared him despite you being averaged size while you glared to his purple eyes.

Without a word, he grasp your arm and pulled you closer towards him. Dark Cacao gave you a sharp look towards you and spoke after seconds of silence.

"There's no backing out, beloved. There will be a wedding waiting for us and you're going to wear that kimono I made just for you. If you're thinking of escaping the Citadel, think about your family and friends. You don't want them to be in danger when those predators and wolves lurking around the area are marking their next meal, hmm?"

"W-what do you mean, Dark Cacao? You're scaring me..."

"If you refuse this marriage, they're no longer be protected by the warriors of the Dark Cacao Kingdom. Leaving them by their own terms without such protection and to be placed within the danger zone of the kingdom."

"You can't do this!"

"Then what will it be, Reader Cookie? Will you promise that I shall be the only cookie who is worthy of your love and affection?"

Your eyes went straight to the ground, contemplating wether you should risk your freedom for the sake of the safety of those cookies whom you cared for the longest time. It was suffocating and it felt the the ticking bomb that was placed within your head was counting down to it's last digit. Now you felt trap within this spiraling circle of madness with only the king by your side.

You desperately wanted to see the old Dark Cacao Cookie whom you befriended and the cookie who gave you sweet kisses and cuddles whenever the temperature becomes unbearable. You searched within his eyes the last bit of that flame that sparked the love between you and him.

And it looks like you made a choice....

If it's for the sake of those cookies then so be it but you swore to yourself that you will hate the king in this loveless marriage he proposed to you.

"Fine, but only because I wanted my friends and family to be safe with the kingdom's walls. There, happy now you delusional freak?" That was the beginning of your hateful endearments towards him but didn't mind it at all. Both of his hands traveled below your waist and pulled you closer to his broad, shiny armour. He gave you a small smile, feeling the euphoria and relief upon hearing your answer. "Very much so, my love."

And it was sealed with a kiss.
