Shaking and crying my brain can’t put thoughts into words. My mind has been absolutely destroyed by sea grunks. No thoughts only two old men and their wacky little adventures. The aroace Ford headcanon has really grown on me. Ever since the lost legends comic came out, I imagine that Stan and Ford are actually using Mabel’s advice— they take care of each other. Ford is more direct in his approach. He’ll tend to Stan’s injuries from their adventures, lecturing him on the importance of being more careful the whole time. Sometimes Stan wakes up in the morning with no memory of himself. Like always, it slowly comes back to him, but the first few moments are disorienting and terrifying. On those days, Ford will bring out one of Mabel’s scrapbooks, gently going over everything with his brother until that spark of recognition is back in his eyes. Stan’s caretaking tends to be more subtle. Ford looks exhausted after being awoken by another nightmare? He just so happened to have brewed too much coffee, and doesn’t mind giving up the rest. His brother is a genius, sure, but gets lost so deeply in his studies that self care is all but forgotten. Ford forgets to feed himself more often than not, to which Stan offers him a sandwich that he totally made for himself but decided that he doesn’t want. It’d be a shame to waste it! (Ford absolutely knows that everything his brother does is intentional, but he also knows that it makes Stan happy when he plays oblivious.)
