so, i found your blog at the beginning ot this month– november, 2023, and now that the month's about to end, i have nearly finished reading all your nct works.

to me, this month is the most special one of this year. why? because i found your blog, your stories– some pieces of your mind. i found you through one of those nct fanfic recs, 'take the stairs - njm' being the first work i read from you. it was sweet, it made me happy. and then i read the other two parts of the 'simplify romance' series, which will always hold a special place in my heart.

this year has been the worst for me, with no one for me to lean on to, weird identify crisis shit, and losing myself in this tiring process of growing up. but you know what? you saved 2023 for me. when no one's words could speak to me, yours did. you make me feel a little less lonely.

im a silly teenager, who never read sad/mainly angsty stories before i found you because i was scared, i was confident i'd cry. and i did. i gathered the courage to read angst only because you'd written it, and it was so worth it. ive stayed up so many nights this month just to read your works in peace and privacy, hidden from my family, and then spend the days thinking about how you literally create art, and telling my bestfriends about it. you are blessed. you are phenomenal. no amount of thank yous or i love yous could be enough for me to express my gratitude. you've made me feel so at peace with my thoughts sometimes and you've made me feel like i'm not alone. you have magic in your hands. i owe you so much, i wish i could gift you something, but sadly im still a minor and theres a few years until i finish uni and then get a job, and then i promise i'll get you something, because i am so lucky to be able to read your stories for free. you deserve so much more than followers, likes and reblogs. each one of your fics have made me tear up and all of them are too special for me.

happier than ever is definitely a heavier read, since it's partly from personal experience, hh. i tend to project on renjun a lot so take this as a warning for my other renjun fics LMAO. TT this fic has a special place in my heart and hearing you talk so highly about it makes me all warm on the inside hhhhh my love langugage is words of affirmation stop this or ill cry. i enjoy leaving my fics open-ended to interpretation of the reader, so whatever you feels fits their story is how the story ends for you. <3

(First of all, in advance I want to apologise for me rumbling so much, I hope what i wrote makes sense)

I have been on the internet for many years now and I can proudly say that I’ve read some of the best works in my entire life here; out of all of these incredible writers I’ve found, you are truly my favourite- I absolutely adore your writing, have read every single one of your fics and often reread my favourite ones to cheer myself up when I’m feeling down (sometimes I wish I could forget them so that I could read them for the first time again hah, I don’t know how to describe this feeling)

My absolute favourite work of yours is “The Sphinx and the Hare” (I wish it was infinitely longer simply because then it would have no end and I could read it forever and ever; I could read about andreil’s (and Lexia&Fìrinn’s) day to day lives for the rest of mine because the way you tell your stories is so compelling and phenomenal I just can’t, won’t, don’t want to stop reading). I cannot tell you how much I love love love this fic. The amount of time you spent writing this work is visible in the thought put behind even the smallest of details. From the very well written dialogue, interactions between characters (especially Andrew, Neil and their daemons), and Neil’s inner thought process to the so on point characterisation of every single one of the characters and amazing descriptions of the world in this AU, characters’ actions and their overall being. I want to call it a testament to how good of a writer you are- you make readers feel everything the character is feeling right alongside them and that shows how much of hard work you put into perfecting the skill of writing

THANK YOU for sharing your terrific works, clever and funny thoughts and memes (here on tumblr, on ao3 and twitter) for free in your own free time; you are a blessing if I can say so myself :DD

It has been so long since I last looked over my daemon au, so forgive me if I contradict my own canon!

Lexia has discovered play fighting, which mostly means launching herself from beneath the bunk to nip Neil's toes when he swings his legs out of bed in the morning. Neil pretends to be annoyed- only for Lexia's satisfaction - but it's ticklish more than anything. (The morning Lexia trips Neil over on his way to the bathroom is the closest Andrew comes to showing signs of amusement)

Fìrinn likes to sit on Andrew's chest when he's lying on the couch and drum her feet on his sternum until Andrew shoves her off. Whenever exy comes on she gets a major case of zoomies unless Neil or Andrew can catch her- although neither consider it worth the effort. Lexia prefers to sit herself on the TV stand at inopportune moments to block everyone's view of the screen, particularly on penalties and overtime, and especially if Kevin is watching. She is still, at heart, an instigator.

More nights than not, Fìrinn falls asleep curled around Lexia or vice versa, and inevitably Neil or Andrew will follow their daemon into the others' bunk. On these nights, and only these nights, safe and surrounded, Lexia will sleep.

I believe it is Michael Angelo who's said, "I saw the angel in the marble and carved till I set him free" You saw the devil in the Scream and wrote until you set the world ablaze, the world in it's entirety on fire with your brilliance. I say this because Debaser itself should be considered a work of art. (Both the Cis AND the Trans version! They're incredibly well executed!!)

Your work is a spider i'd love to keep as a pet, it's always a joy to read, and I find myself often caught in it's proverbial web whenever I commute to work, it's just, phenomenal!!!

I've never been a huge fan of the slashers genre, not for a lack of interest but simply because I was never motivated enough to do so, I only happened upon Debaser from a friend of a friend and let me say what a blessing that rec was because my goodness is your written word an eighth world wonder! It actually inspired me to give the Scream series a shot and the characters both on screen and from your fanfic were cut from the same cloth!!

You captured their personalities perfectly, in fact I found myself almost anticipating the movie to just have a scene of Stu and Billy slamming it down big style in the middle of a party city, clean up on aisle 69 indeed! (Then again both the kitchen AND the cornering Randy scenes were stock-filled with enough sexual tension to make a courtesan flush)

This was much longer then I anticipated, but I wrote this out with the intent to thank you so much for sharing such a gorgeous slice of happiness!! May your winters be warm and your pillows stay cold! (Unless you like warmer pillows, in which case I hope they stay hot?)

Oh phew I didn't see any announcements and I didn't get tagged to the announcement so I thought I missed yet another FF! xD

Heeyyyy happy Fab Friday! :D

I'm here to tell you BRIEFLY about a few new projects (that's right, even more new goodies from yours truly).

One I started and finished since the last time we spoke. It's not titled and was a short mini-series, which I posted on my quotev blog as well as my hannahactuallywrites blog. It's a hero/villain love story and is quite the roller coaster for a really short story xD

Then I made a hero/villain prompt list that made me really want to start a new idea so I started writing kind of a spin off, if you will, of I Love Penguins (an old story I wrote a couple years ago) of the same kids but now they're teenagers continuing the story of the hero/villain they used to play pretend as but now they're writers writing about them on a site like fanfiction.

Aaaaand I finally started on my train afterlife story. It was going to be my nano project but thanks to personal situations, Nano has been cancelled for me this year, but I will resume that story when I have the emotional capacity to write about death.

And finally, I've been making a bunch of blessing/curse and worldbuilding posts about a pantheon I made with 10 deities, who 8 siblings and the two parents... and the entire idea stemmed from a video of like maple leaves falling from a tree and I thought they were gold flecks and it gave me the image of gold flecks raining from the sky like actual rain and that turned into a pantheon world/story.

So yeah! Lots of new things here, as always. 😅

You liked studying at Gotham University’s library for the ambience. 

Whether or not you got any actual “studying” done depended wholly on your mood and whatever being that may or may not have been watching you from above, but even if you somehow managed to procrastinate the entire time you were there, at least you could walk back to your dorm with the comforting fact that you had gotten in your cardio for the day. 

The place itself was gorgeous with its overarching ceilings, long hall lined with pillars supporting a seemingly endless array of books, the cozy golden glow of the lights, and the generally pleasant atmosphere provided by the myriads of students sitting around its tables and lounging on its couches. The entire campus was stunning - but it would only be surprising if it wasn’t thanks to the very generous grants from patrons of the Gotham elite, most notably people like Bruce Wayne.

You had a particular spot you liked near the edge of the library, in a little corner mostly surrounded by shelves with enough space for a few usually-unoccupied couches. Aside from you, the only regulars to sit there mainly just consisted of one other guy who recently had started to drop in every few days or so to listen to music and do his own work. You didn’t mind him - he never bothered you, and you both kept up your mutual solidarity towards maintaining a very comfortable silence.

That was, until one particular day.

“Is that Othello?” You glanced over the book in your hand and saw the guy’s startlingly green eyes gazing right at you over his dark-rimmed reading glasses. He wasn’t wearing his earbuds as per usual, so you figured your agonized sigh of boredom must’ve come out a little too loudly. 

“Yeah,” you finally answered, slowly lowering the book a little. “Unfortunately.” He cracked a slight grin at that.

“What, you’re not a fan of Shakespeare?” 

“I don’t hate him,” you started with a fairly nonchalant shrug, “I just think this book in particular is just kinda-”

“Boring as fuck?” he finished very eloquently, causing you to grin back despite yourself. 

“Yeah. Pretty much.” 

“I can agree with that,” he said with a nod towards the book. “Definitely not one of my favorites, that’s for sure. Good premise, dynamics were pretty interesting, but I couldn’t really get into it either.” The fact that he was discussing Shakespeare’s works in a way that suggested he had fully read the book (without wholly relying on CliffNotes) and that he did perhaps genuinely enjoy some of them suggested to you that he was probably an English major. “And Iago was a bitch-”

“I know!” you nearly exclaimed, throwing your hands up in very evident frustration. “Iago was shady as hell, and I don’t get how Othello never saw it coming from him. Like, no one can be that oblivious, come on. I wouldn’t have listened to him.” RIP to Othello, but you were different. 

He was actually laughing at that point, shaking his head in disbelief. 

“You and me both. You an English major?” You shook your head, holding up your Psychology Twelfth Edition textbook that had been resting on the table beside you.

“Psych.” He raised a brow and you inwardly sighed.

“Jeez - at GU? I’m impressed.” 

Being a psych student at your particular Gotham-based university was both a blessing and somewhat of a curse. The classes were phenomenal and your professors consisted of some of the best and most experienced in the nation - but that also came with the downside that the city you lived in had some of the biggest psychopaths and the largest insane asylum in the nation as well. 

Well, you win some, you lose some.

“It’s not that bad,” you tried to say, but the smirk playing at his lips proved that you weren’t convincing anyone. “Let me guess, you’re an English major.”

“What gave it away?” he deadpanned, chuckling regardless as he closed up his own book and extended a hand out. “Name’s Jason Todd. I’ve seen you around a lot, but we never really talked, huh?” You smiled as you reached out to shake his hand, introducing yourself as well.

“I guess not. You usually look like you’re pretty busy.”

“Something like that,” Jason grinned, leaning back against his chair and sliding off his glasses. Without them, the lights somehow gave them an almost glowing effect. “I figured you wouldn’t want me to bother you.”

Bantering over Shakespeare with a cute boy wasn’t exactly your definition of being bothered, so you shook your head.

“Believe me, that was a lot better than Othello was.”

You saw Jason at your spot again the next day, then the day after and the next, lounging across from your couch and always seeming rather out-of-place with his black leather jackets and ripped jeans, but a welcome sight to you nonetheless. And just like that, suddenly, your visits to the library weren’t just for the sake of cardio and the ambience anymore.

He was surprisingly amusing to talk to, whether it was complaining about more books for your respective English courses or just ranting to each other about the struggles of being a student at GU. It was easy to bond over things like getting your midterms interrupted by random threats from the likes of the Riddler, or arguing over whether or not the city’s latest vigilante, some guy named Red Hood, was actually cooler than Batman himself. 

He had been particularly passionate about that last debate.

Aside from being easy-going and annoyingly attractive, you also figured out that he was ridiculously smart, especially when it came to helping you with your English course. Whether it was explaining the deeper societal message behind a particular reading or helping you research topics for your thesis, Jason had a knack towards figuring out exactly the things you yourself seemed to struggle with. 

“How do you figure all of this out?” You asked one day out of sheer disbelief after he connected The Catcher in the Rye to themes of disillusionment about innocence and one’s childhood, and not just towards the protagonist, Holden, being an ass. “Seriously, I thought I was pretty decent with this stuff, but you blow me out of the water.”

He shrugged it off like it was no big deal, sliding off his reading glasses and setting it on top of the wooden table you were at. You had grown fond of the way they looked on him.

“It’s nothing special,” he dismissed in response, lifting his gaze from the book to fixate it back on you. “You do great by yourself, I just kinda give you a little push with my interpretations.” 

He did that a lot - downplaying the fact that he was actually smart as hell like it really was no big deal. The way your grades had started rising after he started helping you out proved otherwise, though.

“Still, thanks for helping me out,” you insisted, eliciting another slight smile from him. “It means a lot.” 

“Oh yeah?” His tone had gotten cheekier as he leaned closer to you. “How much is a lot?” 

“That’s up for you to decide,” you smirked, moving back and closing up your laptop. “Not me.” 

“You know, if you really wanted to thank me, you should get a coffee with me sometime.” 

“We get coffee together like every week,” you deadpanned and he sighed.

“Not like that. Like a date.” 

It hit you like a truck.

“A date,” you repeated, like you hadn’t heard him the first time.

Ok! I'm so so curious bc having finished the game I was reading your lil note before the credits where you say you were debating between a VN and IF and you went with the VN bc it seemed easier?! But from my understanding you work on your own with no help (with the exception of beta readers, proof readers etc ofc) so the idea that VN seemed easier is mind boggling to me! You drew your own artwork! You wrote your own script! You coded the game itself! That's f*cking phenomenal to me. (continued)

And finally I hope you're not too hard on yourself for feeling the storyline was "rushed". It was a demo, as you said, and it far exceeded what a demo is supposed to be! Perfumare was the second VN I ever played and from there onwards I jumped into the rabbit hole of IF so I like to think your little "demo" played a part in that! I wish you nothing but brilliant things for your future. Truly. <3

I mean, okay I get how it sounds, but for someone who's never written anything longer than a page in English, believe me, VNs format seemed way easier to tackle given the (supposed) art to text ratio (so like line-line-line vs wall of text etc). That was, of course, when I thought that VNs have to adhere to certain rules, but now I know nothing is stopping me from i.e. writing a story as one would an IF the adding pictures to it.

Ah, bless you, really, but please don't worry! I am not too hard on myself, at least not anymore. The demo *is* rushed, because it was never meant to *not* be. I took a chunk of a story I wanted to use to learn coding on then I ran with it 😂 I just thought it'd be better to mention that, otherwise I'd get 683713 comments about how the game was ok but rushed. So, what I mean is, as long as ppl know not to expect idk superior quality here we're all good.

I stumbled across this on my tl, read the title and the little summary and thought “oooh I’ll read this later”. I came back to it, read it and oh my. It’s one of the most beautiful things I have read in my life. The writing is phenomenal. The setting, the descriptions, the characters that are layered with emotion and a depth that just makes it feel so real, it genuinely feels like you’re there seeing all of it play out and that’s so difficult to do really well in writing and I was just blown away, the talent shines through every sentence. Well, This Is Awkward(Series)~ (Dave York x Fem!Reader) by @pedro-pascal-love - Have I recommended this fic before? Yes. Yes I have. Am I going to recommend it again? Um YES. Yes I am. I have been following this fic since it began in December, and the last chapter was posted last week. And oh my what a finale, it was… so so good. It was everything and MORE. Sinking Ships(Oneshot)~ (Din Djarin x Fem!Reader) by @omgreally - Okay this. THIS. I honestly don’t know why it doesn’t have more notes because it’s a piece of writing that I didn’t know I needed. It’s just so sweet 🥺 and it honestly just filled a space in my heart that I didn’t know needed filling. Harder to Hold(Series) ~(Jack ‘Whiskey’ Daniels x Fem!Reader) by @brandyllyn - first of all I am obsessed with this fic, the way it’s flipped the enemies to lovers trope is just 😗🤌. The way they write Jack’s character is just so perfectly in depth and it just fits him so well. And the most recent chapter, I was a fool to assume I was ready to read it because oh boy it was good and I can’t wait to see how it’s going to be developed further. Kiss the Scars(Oneshot) ~(Din Djarin x Fem!MandalorianReader) by @second-stars-totheright - okay so how I missed this when it came out I don’t have a fucking clue because it’s one of the most beautifully amazing things I’ve read on here and it genuinely made me cry. Honestly the way Stars writes is always amazing but the way she wrote the vulnerability in this is so fantastically detailed and I loved every single word of it. I’m nervous about my book tbh LOL Like, right now it’s some abstract manuscript in limbo until the publish date drops and then shit gets real. 😱 I highly doubt that anything I write will reach critical acclaim or anything, but it’s still such a wild concept to me that my ass wrote an 100k novel and someone picked it up. My imposter syndrome is CRAZY rn LOL!

As for the Chocobro smut… I really want to finish that series. I stopped a few years ago because my muse was just exhausted from FFXV fandom stuff and writing each sentence felt so stale to me, so I gave up and said I’d come back to it later. And then I went and wrote a novel instead LOL! I’m hoping that in the near future I’ll have had enough distance to recharge my brain just to have one last hurrah. Fingers crossed!
