do you get reminded of your real old series much anymore? im a fan from when you did your ni no kuni: wrath of the white witch playthrough, and i tend to put that playlist on when i'm not feeling jazzy. i expect folks are talking more about Evo than anything else, esp on tumblr given our love of that series and extrapolating its lore, but does anyone ever bring up kingdom of the saplings or yogbox or any of the old yogs smps (did... did we even call em smps back then??)? folks were mentioning the christmas advent-ure in the chunklock stream, but that one might just be because it was an amazing series and its that time of year. just wondering, because being a content creator (as yuck as the job title can be) is a real unique position and ya have a LOOOOOT of content the younglets these days might not know of.

Can you show us some more of your prototype/one-off game projects?

I don't really have many! I've never been the type of dev to do a bunch of prototypes or small games. The source folder for SLARPG on my computer is still titled "first," because SLARPG literally grew out of my first ever RPG Maker test project from almost a decade prior. I really just put most of my effort into the one big dream game. (This is the exact opposite of every piece of beginner game dev advice ever. Don't be like me kids.)

Aside from that jokey edit of a Godot tutorial game, I guess I mainly have a few remnants from when I was trying to make Andromi, a shelved project which you can read more about here. Along the way I made Andromi Ball, an edit of Unity's roll-a-ball tutorial game:

At one point I also did an April Fools joke where I said I was making Andromi in RPG Maker with default assets:

I also have a couple test maps from Andromi, one of which was me trying to see if I could pull off kind of a Paper Mario billboarded sprites thing. I don't have Unity installed currently so I can't open that project and I don't have any screenshots saved, but I have... some trees I guess? (The ones on the right are lower in detail because they were supposed to be mostly obscured in the background.)

how did you make the folders of your computer be mario themed?

The image itself is from a Nintendo 3DS theme.

First, I cut it out in Photoshop (pretty much any image editing program would work) and exported it as a .png file.

Then, because I'm on a PC running Windows, I used Simple Icon File Maker to convert it to an a icon file with multiple sizes (I'd recommend saving this file somewhere it won't get moved or deleted).

Finally, I right-clicked on the folder, selected "Properties," went to "Customize" > "Change Icon..." > "Browse..." to select the file, and then I just clicked "OK" on all of the windows to save the change.

On a Mac, once you have your .png file, there are two ways to go about it. You could either right-click on the .png, select "Get Info," select the .png's icon in the "Get Info" window, and copy that, or you could open the .png in Preview, select the entire image, and copy that instead.

Once you've done that, you would right-click on the folder, select "Get Info" to view its properties, select the folder's icon in its "Get Info" window, and paste the new icon in its place. If nothing happens, you may need to make the image the same height and width (it depends on which version of MacOS you're on).

Name: SNOW POKEY

Debut: Super Mario 3D World

Usually we do not write the name of the character in all capitals in the beginning of the post. But I am just so excited about Snow Pokey! A few days ago, the little creature in my brain knocked on the door and said, “Hey! Snow Pokey?” And yeah! I have never agreed with something so much!

Snow Pokey is a perfect design! Literally nothing could make this better. Maybe black dot buttons on the body segments would be cute, but the mouth is already a black dot, so it would make things a little weird! So, Snokey is a snowman Pokey, of course, a concept that lends itself to the body plan BETTER than the original. Big snowballs are made to be stacked! Its body segments have ice spikes, which is perfect, so perfect that it baffles me when those spikes are depicted as just snow. That would not be painful! I have not personally been stabbed by snow, but I do not believe it would be painful or possible. I sincerely apologize if it has ever happened to you.

Enough rambling about that though! It is time for the best part, Snow Pokey’s darling head and face! It has the cool white-pupiled eyes of regular Pokeys, but instead of their smile, a cute surprised expression, and of course, a carrot nose! The cherry on top of the cutie pie a la mode is the bucket it wears as an off-center hat! The go-to hat for Japanese snowmen, rather than a top hat. It is not only more casual, but more implies it is not exactly a natural creature, but one intentionally created! Who created it? I don’t know, but I will kiss them on the mouth.

Since it is alive, I can only assume there is some Magic involved here. Maybe the bucket granted it life, maybe a wizard did, maybe a Christmas miracle did! Maybe it was a wish made by the carrot, its one organic component. Being made of snow, these can’t be BIOLOGICALLY related to standard Pokeys, but maybe this is snow being inhabited by the soul of a Pokey! A Pokey who always wanted a nose, and is constantly in awe at all the scents the world has to offer!

Snocchi replaces Pokeys in the snow themes of Super Mario Maker 2, and that means we get to see it in three new styles, for which they made entirely new designs! What a treat! In Super Mario Bros., they wear yellow hard hats, perhaps for protection during a snowball fight, and have a big, cheeky smile! In Super Mario Bros. 3, they now have a red knit cap, which seems counterintuitive for a snow creature, like a sun wearing sunglasses, but it is really all about style. This one has a simple little smile, it’s just happy! Finally, in Super Mario World, Snow Pokey is VERY happy, no doubt because of its new hat! This one has a pompom! I like to think this is the same one from SMB3, but someone very kindly enhanced it. Snow Pokey wanted a pompom hat, but it did love its plain knit hat dearly, and now it gets to have both!

Snow Pokey appears in the art for December 2017′s LINE calendar, and what a cozy scene this is! Oh, to be so cozy in a warm snow house with some funny friends both inside and outside! Even if it wants to stay cold and you want to stay warm, you are never too far from each other! Also, this one is so small. Baby!

Finally, good news! There is a toy of Snow Pokey! It is real in our world! It is physically among us! I love Snow Pokey so dearly!

“Okay, where did polar bears keep their money?” Lizzy asked. V ignored her and held her stern glare at the ceiling from her spot on Lizzy’s carpet. After a few minutes of silence, Lizzy finished the joke.”In the snowbank!” She said. The corner of V’s mouth twitched upwards, but quickly went back down. Her friend groaned and put her phone down on her nightstand.“Come on, V! That was a good one!” She said.

V rolled her eyes and flicked her tail against the carpet floor to subtly let some of her lingering frustration out. Lizzy moved to lay next to her and looked at her confused.”How are you still bitter about loosing Mario Kart? That thing was literally centuries old and didn’t work very well in the first place.” She asked in slight disbelief. It’s been around an hour since that happened, and even someone as irritable as Uzi got over something like that after, what, thirty minutes?

How V could still be mad about it, especially when it barely functioned enough for the game to play without lagging, Lizzy couldn’t understand.“I’m not usually the looser.” V grumbled.

Lizzy looked at her with an expression that said “Are you serious?”, which quickly changed and softened slightly. Suddenly, she sat up.“I’ve got just the thing!” She said. V ignored her claim, thinking it was another awful and definitely not funny joke, until she felt two hands lift her head and back up. She glanced over at Lizzy, who had moved closer and adjusted herself so she could place her legs under V’s back.

She grabbed one of V’s arms and began moving it so most of it would be under her legs.“What are you doing?” V asked. She gave her arm a slight tug, but Lizzy grabbed her again and placed it under her legs. She looked pretty confident for what she was about to do and reached for V’s other arm.“Something that has worked for my friends and family many times. Trust me, it’ll work.” She said, placing V’s other arm beneath her legs. In this position, V’s upper body was in Lizzy’s lap and lifted up a bit, except for her head, which she needed to hold up if she wanted to see what was happening.

Lizzy turned around and reached up onto her bed for a pillow. She grabbed the closest one, a fuzzy pink one, and placed it under V’s head so it would be leveled a bit.“There. Comfy?” She asked. V nodded, but she couldn’t help but feel a little nervous about both her arms basically being trapped. True, Lizzy would never hurt her, but was it really necessary for her arms to be held down like this?“Good. Now just relax.” Lizzy said.

Yeah, what was V thinking? There’s definitely bound to be some sort of cultural difference or something that would look weird that worker drones do that is actually really nice. Maybe this was one of them. V closed her eyes and decided to let L do whatever she was going to do. Besides, the pillow was very soft, so she paid no mind to the slight weight on her belly.

That was a mistake.

V’s eyes shot open and she looked at Lizzy, who had taken advantage of her position and started tickling her belly.”Hehehehey!! Lihihihizzyhyhy!! Hahahahahahaha!!” She tried to pull her arms up to protect herself, but she couldn’t. They were stuck, and it was all part of Lizzy’s plan. She had been tricked.”Hahahahaha!! Stohohohohop!! Yohohou trahahahaitor!! Hahahahahaha!!” V said. Lizzy lifted one of her hands and placed a finger on her chin.”Hmm, no.~” She said in a teasingly manner. She gave V a smug grin and continued using both hands to tickle her.”Wanna hear a joke instead?” She asked.

“Nohohoho!!” V laughed. Lizzy gave her sides a quick squeeze as a way of saying “excuse me?” and resumed attacking her belly with tickles.”Too bad! Why was six afraid of seven?” Lizzy asked.

“Whyhyhyhy?” V asked through her laughing. She tried again to pull her arms out from underneath, but Lizzy pushed her legs down to keep them underneath.“Because seven eight nine!” Lizzy replied. V’s laughter picked up a bit hearing the punchline.

It was a pretty good joke, but at the same time, it was bad. So bad that it worked.“Hahahaha!! That’s awfuhuhul!!” V laughed. Lizzy gasped dramatically and put on a fake expression of irritation. She slowed the tickling down to where V was only giggling a bit.“How dare you! I’m being a good friend trying to cheer you up, and you have the nerve to say that these jokes are terrible?!” She said in a mocking tone. V couldn’t help but giggle more at her silly antics, until she lowered her head down to her belly and grinned.

V immediately knew what she was doing and tried to wiggle free, but she couldn’t. Lizzy took in a deep breath and V knew she was done for.“Lizzy, don’t you dare.” V warned. Her friend ignored her and blew a raspberry on her belly.

V broke out laughing and started kicking her legs against the carpet.”AHAHAHA!!! NOHOHOHO!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!” She laughed hard and thumped her tail against the carpet floor. Lizzy blew another and V threw her head back against the pillow supporting her.“Now that you know what happens, no more insulting my jokes.” Lizzy said.

“Ihihihi meheheant bahahad in a goohoohood waHAHAHAHAY!!! NOHOHOHO!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!” V immediately regretted trying to explain. Lizzy probably already knew anyways and was just using it as a way to blow a raspberry again.“Now. What do you call a big pile of cats?” Lizzy asked. V tried to shrug, but she barely managed to move.”A meow-tain!” Her friend said. V’s laughter picked up again and Lizzy smiled.”See? You’re feeling better!” She said.

“Behehecahahause ohohof your ahahawfuhuhul johohokes!!” V snapped back. She quickly regretted her decision when Lizzy stopped tickling her and slowly turned her head to face her.”Wait a minute, Lizzy! You know what I actually mean by that!” V said frantically. Lizzy maintained a cold face and slowly lowered her head.”Wait, wait, wait-- NOHOHOHO!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!! LIHIHIZZY!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!” V laughed hysterically and tried to pull her arms out. Again, she failed.

Lizzy blew another one.“HAHAHAHAHA!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!” V’s tail was practically slapping on the floor with how much it was wagging. Lizzy blew a third raspberry before stopping and giving her a moment to breathe, otherwise she might be thrown across the room in all of V’s attempts to get out.

While V had calmed down, Lizzy let her move her arms out from under her legs. She was pretty surprised that V decided not to get up and stay there as she caught her breath. She smiled smugly and crossed her arms.”Feel better?” She asked confidently. V would forever deny that she nodded, but Lizzy knew she saw it.

Uzi looked at her phone to see who sent the message while she was working on the pod. She saw it was from Doll and opened it up. It was a picture of Lizzy blowing a raspberry on V’s belly, and V looked like she was trapped with her arms beneath Lizzy’s legs and loosing it. Uzi noticed the text message that was sent after it and nearly laughed at it.

The smell of coffee snapped me out of my sleep and I opened my eyes, realizing that the other side of my bed was empty. I patted the mattress with my hand only to notice that both the sheet and the pillow were cold, so I rubbed my eyes to scare away sleep, stretched the bones of my back and arms and got out of bed.

I walked to the bathroom, washed my face and teeth, relieved myself and left the small room again.

It was a winter day, so going down to the kitchen with only panties was not the best idea, so I stuck my head in the closet trying to find a warm garment to go down, but none convinced me; until I could see the large knitted sweater of various colors lying on the floor, on the cold side of the bed.

I quickly put on the sweater and went downstairs listening to a slight humming in the kitchen.

I could make out her, now, long blonde hair, a bit disheveled, which fell like a golden waterfall down her back covered in a blue sweatshirt; her long legs covered in sweatpants that accentuated her butt phenomenally; while her feet were covered by those sports shoes that I had given her last Christmas. She was preparing some small pancakes that she garnished with fresh fruit , while she waited for the toaster and the coffee maker.

On tiptoes and in silence I approached her hugging her back and trying to bury my face in the curve of her neck.

"Good morning." Even behind her back, I could feel Charlize's smile.

"You weren't in bed when I woke up" I made a small tantrum while rubbing my face a little more on her shoulder.

"Oh" her husky voice reached my ears, like a sweet and addictive purr "did my sweet baby wake up the wrong way?" I only managed to kiss her neck while nodding "do you think a good breakfast and a good cup of freshly ground coffee will help your morning bad mood?"

I felt again, now with a greater emotion. I separated from her quickly and walked to the small dining room, and I sat waiting patiently.

Minutes later, Charlize arrived with two plates full of food, two cups of coffee, and cutlery for both of them.

"Are you wearing MY sweater?"

Her eyes flicked to my chest covered with some doubt, when, it was, extremely obvious that I was wearing her clothes.

“I repeat. You weren't in bed when I woke up."

She just laughed as she shook her head and we both started eating.

"Do you have something to do today?" I asked as I relaxed with the warmth of my cup in my hands.

“Nope. I have all day for you, pretty girl.” She took my hand and kissed the back.

"You know what it means?"

“Oh honey, I thought we already talked about this…”

"We can play Mario Kart all day!"

"Although I remember, I forbade you to play that game" she said as she collected the dirty dishes from both of them and took them to the kitchen to wash.

"But baby…"

"No buts Y/N, you and I know how competitive you are when you play Mario Kart"

Trying to convince her otherwise, I walked up to her and stood in front of her.

"Charlie, I think you're exaggerating…"

“Have you already forgotten the time you bit my arm? ”

“Okay, in my defense I will say that, you were cheating and you deserved it …”

"Y/N! I've been in pain all week!"

"Yeah, okay, sorry. It won't happen again" I hugged her while she spread kisses on the top of my head "Can we play Mario Kart? Please?"

I tried to give her my best Shrek cat eyes I could give, trying to knock down the tough side she was trying to put on.

"Agh, you know I can't say no to you when you those eyes…"

"Yeih!, I choose the pink controller and Princess Peach…" I yelled as I walked her away until I returned to our room and began to organize the Nintendo we had at home.

"I'll let you know, Y/N, if you bite me, there will be no sex for a month."

This time I’m going to tell you all.. get this: 25 AZREMI FACTS!

Number 1: Azreal has a few custom sweaters based on their favourite shirt to wear whenever the shirt is dirty. They gave one to Emily because she really wanted one. Now sometimes they play something Co-op like Mario 3D world or cuphead as “sweater buddies”

Fact Number 2:Emily has met Azreal’s sister (who’s name is sarah) after everyone was freed. Emily told Sarah off for what she did to Azreal, and let’s just say: It worked and Azzy won’t have problems with his old family any time soon. (Note, I said any time SOON.)

Fact Number 3:Emily and Azreal always do their homework together. They get a plate of cookies and get to work.

Fact Number 4:Azreal and Emily sometimes fall asleep on the couch when watching a movie or playing a game, so Toriel or Asgore picks them up and TRIES to bring them to their beds, but they don’t let go of eachother, so Toriel or asgore end up just putting them both in Emily’s bed because it’s closer.

Fact Number 5:Azreal and Emily will match their Halloweeen costumes every time.

Fact Number 6:Scorch and Water put Azreal and Emily on their Tomodachi life and rigged it so they’d start dating

You’re just a dumb kid-“ Emily IMMEDIATELY Signals to Univer to start playing the “you are an idiot” audio at full blast until the snarky commenter shuts up. Azreal is ok with it.

Fact Number 10:The two of them together share a whole toy room filled with tons of plushies and other toys. Sometimes they play in there together. (Hellspawn, Tricksly, Chara, Flowey and Frisk join them sometimes)

Fact Number 11:They like drawing together sometimes.

Fact number 12:Sometimes the two of them bring Toby to the dog park together

Fact Number 13:They get married when they’re older and you have to accept it

Fact Number 14:Their discord friend nicknames for eachother are “Azzy <3” and “Em-Em :)”

Fact Number 15: Toriel, Undyne, Gerson, and Alphys always pair them up in class projects. (They’re teachers)

Fact Number 16:If anyone were to Flirt with Azreal, Emily would be clingy for the rest of the day. If anyone were to flirt with Emily, Azreal would just pull Emily away from them and hug her)

Why Mario is a Success?

Well, it's more than enough time to talk about this movie freely and without restrictions, I think. By the way I leave you 2 traditional drawings with watercolors and pencils that I made for the launch of the movie of both Mario and Luigi in full color. I hope you like it along with my review of the movie.

My first contact with Mario and his franchise was comically in conjunction with another franchise that was sustained over time and completely different (Mortal Kombat) when I was 7 years old I went to his house and the father took us to a local video game machine and we played some classics but mostly MK, then at home he had a Nintendo Nes console and put Mario on it. I admit how disastrous I was playing. And it is that if you are not a frequent player Mario can be frustrating, but beautiful and addictively frustrating. Years later I was able to get my console and play. Today with the Switch and the chance to revive old Mario games, as well as new ones thanks to unlimited Mario Maker 2. It made me understand why Mario the movie is a success. Today I am 35 years old. and a good part of my generation today are parents. If I kept that love for Mario, my friends who are parents the same, and obviously they passed that love on to their children. and it is that Mario's secret is that he is Timeless. It is a simple basic game, with a basic linear story. and that makes it wonderful, because that's how simple it works. The film was criticized from ""specialized criticism"" for its simplicity or that it did not risk, or cases like that of John Leguizamo and a very silly criticism of Latino inclusion"" to an animated film with characters that excepted ""Mario and Luigi with the fact that they are Italian"", does not echo these issues. why should they be mentioned? or be necessary for the plot? Would inclusive power help Mario to beat Bowsser? Despite that, the movie works perfectly because outside of being a gigantic wink after wink of references to the different games, the movie does what the games do, being simple linear and with a basic scoop ""a big adventure"" and already. Nintendo as well as Illumination understood this and exploited it beautifully.

So do you all remember this infamous meme that surfaced about like a year after the Nintendo Switch came out?

It was a meme poking fun at how many of the major first party titles released on the Switch were just ports of Wii U games. You might also remember that when this meme did surface EVERYONE and there mother was getting overly upset at it including one Nintendo Youtuber in particular basically making a 10 minuet long video caring WAY to much about what was a simple joke.

And yes, this meme is pretty flawed in some areas. I have no idea how the hell you could compared Super Mario Maker with Mario + Rabbits or Kirby and the Rainbow Curse with Kirby Star Allies but even with those... I've actually always kind of agreed with what this meme was trying to say!

No I'm not joking, because for as much as I love the Nintendo Switch and have gotten a lot of use out of it over the past 7 years one issue I had in the first couple of years of it's life is that most of the first party titles that were being released on it were either ports of Wii U games I already owned or games I could of gotten on my Wii U since I was finally making my own money around the time I got my Switch and we ended up getting even more the following years with stuff like Pikmin 3 and New Super Mario Bros U. Yeah, not everyone got a Wii U and it's great that more people are able to play these games but as someone who also had a Wii U since it's launch I'm not even kidding when I say this actually made me question weather or not I really made the right call buying a Switch at launch.
