More Song the Ninjago Fandom is missing out on
Alright folks guess who's back with more songs for you AND a playlist with them!
I've been having fun with this and I love talking about why I associate certain songs with certain characters I love doing it and I really do wish I was able to do animatics myself. But any who here are more songs! (Song-artist)
AS ALWAYS MAJOR SPOILERS
Violet- Marianne Ross: This song is SOOOOO Lloyd thinking about Harumi (I will in fact ignore Crystalized existence again), like it's all about thinking about someone who hurt you deeply and still thinking of them even though they treated you poorly. Lyrics: "When I think of violet I think of you I see you tryin got make is cool" Harumi trying to justify herself to Lloyd. "My mind reminds me of a purple hue, matched the sight of another bruise" Do I have to say more? Like Lloyd clearly cared about Harumi and she emotionally and physically beat the shit outta him
Like a Villain- Bad Omens: This song could totally be used for Morro or Garmadon in my opinion, the song is about someone talking to a person who unknowingly or not pushed them past the edge of no return. Lyrics: "Look into my face then look again we're not the same we're different" For Garmadon this could be a representation of the Great Devourer taking over his mind and transforming him and for Morro this could his transformation from a starry eyes kid to a depressed and evil ghost. "You need a new clean slate with out the dents" This could be either of them addressing Wu cause lets be honest neither of them have an all to peachy relationship with him, Morro especially who saw Wu with this new set of Ninja who are happier than he ever was who Wu treated like family while pretending Morro never existed. "I know that you tried your hardest I know that you meant well but you pushed me to the edge and I slipped and then I fell" For Morro this could totally be Wu's intense training and the way he made Morro believe he'd be the green ninja only for that to be false which kinda drove him crazy, or it could be used for Garmadon on him and Wu's journey in Spinjitzu Brothers to find the tea to heal Garmadon while the journey was supposed to get something to heal Garmadon it ended up just making him feel worse about himself and his place in the world. There's a bunch more awesome lyrics but we'd be here all day if I explained all of them.
Fourth of July- Sufjan Stevens: This one is a teny tiny bit of a reach but hear me out. Zane and his father. So we know that Dr. Julien passes away sometime I believe before season three takes place and it's said he died of natural causes and I'm just saying this could make a pretty decent song since I feel like Zane and Dr. Julien's really sweet father son relationship gets over looked a bit probably since he died so early on and we didn't get to see Zane mourn much afterwards. Lyrics: "And I'm sorry I left but it was for the best" Could totally be used for when Dr. Julien turned off his memory switch and everything. I don't have many particular phrases since the song is almost like a back and forth, but there are a lot of bird references which also works well for Zane.
Icarus-Luvbug: Now this could work for a couple different Ninjago parents since it's mostly about losing a child but I think it would work best with either the FSM feeling bad for what happened to Garmadon (if you want to make him less awful that is cause in cannon his feels about Garmadon are... slightly concerning like sir you're not supposed to hate your own child) Garmadon feeling bad about how Lloyd had to "kill" the child part of himself to lead the ninja, or Maya after Nya merged with the sea and how she wanted to badly to be there for her only for her to end up gone.
Little Lion Man- Mumford & sons: Misako and Lloyd, just trust me okay? Like it's all about someone blaming themselves how someone turned out and in a better world we would have gotten Misako canonically feeling awful for how Lloyd's childhood went due to the fact she decided to dump him gods know where (Darkly's is a boarding school and Lloyd doesn't remember his mother when he meets her so I'm assuming he was probably somewhere else before there?) but instead I'll settle for fan interpretation and I feel like this song would make a great Misako animatic. "But it was not your fault but mine, and it was your heart on the line" and "Now learn from your mother or else spend you days biting your own neck" and "Tremble for yourself, my man, you know that you have seen this all before"
Sorry the list is a little shorter this time but honestly sometimes I don't have full explanations for songs I just have like general vibes, like my excuse is literally just: trust, with little to no explanation. Like:
The Archer- Taylor Swift: Lloyd, Cole or Sora
Don't meet your idols- Everybody's worried about Owen: Jay (cause his bio father was his idol ig?) or Nya (I have no clue man)
Your sister was right- Wilbur Soot: Jay
Punching Bag- The Front Bottoms: Kai
Runs in the Family-Amanda Palmer: Lloyd, Garmadon, Wu, Cole, Sora and honestly just most of them tbh
Friends- Sonic Sea Turtles: Cole, Lloyd, Jay and Garmadon
Idk y'all my brain is actually just one big Lego brick.

Cruisin’
A/N: I’m really glad for my first Leo one shot that someone gave me the basic plot points because honestly writing for Leo is gonna go one of two ways for me, I’m either going to write him super out of character (or base him off of OOTS which might not be the best idea in my opinion) or it will be in character for this type of fic and you guys will like it. But I promise I’ll get better at writing for Leo either way.
Updated A/N: I ended up writing so much for this but I’m so happy with what I wrote even if it is a little out of character. (2979 words)

Leo had made a habit of trying to leave without anybody noticing and hoping to god they just assumed he was in his room, meditating. But Donnie had knocked on his door and opened it to see if he was there to only come up empty three times this week. THREE TIMES. It was incredibly unlike the fearless leader to just vanish without telling the rest of his team, his brothers, where he was going. Raph knew how brutal he was whenever he came back from a trip to the surface by himself, it was like Leo was the mother hen but no one knew who would tell him off. Splinter? Yeah but it wasn’t like Leo was actually doing anything wrong.
Going up to the surface for a breath of fresh air wasn’t against the rules or whatever. It was the part about not telling his family that stuck out. Eventually even April and Casey started to notice that they saw less and less of the blue banded turtle. Suspicions were starting to grow and it just got to the point where they knew they had to follow him. If he was going out almost five times a week? Something was definitely up.
Following him down to the docks? It was a bit unexpected but it wasn’t like they knew where he was going. Stalking a ninja without being noticed was the hard part, with all the falling behind they did (especially with April and Casey) it was surprising that they hadn’t lost Leo at some point. Watching him walk into an abandoned warehouse was even more sketchy than they thought, so his brothers assumed that he was either being black mailed or he was dealing with crime directly…by himself.
A couple minutes passed and they saw a young girl, around their age, jump down from a boat and make her way into the warehouse with a bright smile on her face. Raph was having none of it, “What if she’s working for the foot?” he whisper shouted to his accomplices. It was a reasonable question, but as far as the brothers knew, Leo was alone with that girl in there.
 *Leo’s POV*
I had been meeting up with her for a couple months now, meeting her by accident when I was out by myself one night near the docks. I liked to stare at the water to help me calm down and this was after a particularly nasty fight with Raphael. Next thing I knew, the wooden roof underneath me had gave way and I blacked out. When I woke up she was there, hovering over me and tending to what little wounds I had. She had somehow managed to carry me to her boat and had me resting on her sofa bed.
The way she looked at me wasn’t with fear or hatred, but concern and dare I say kindness. I learnt that her name was Y/N and she had loved the water all her life, when she was a kid she’d tell grown ups she wanted to be a mermaid when she was older. She loves all marine life, she told me turtles were her favorites, which (almost embarrassingly) made me blush. Hopefully I don’t think she noticed.
We became friends and for some reason I wanted to keep her friendship to myself. Which led to the sneaking out, not telling my brothers or my father where I was going, who I was meeting and why I went I meet them so often. You see, Y/N lived by herself, she didn’t have many friends in the city and all she had was her boat and everything on it. I barely fit under the deck so we ended up meeting in a warehouse nearby, it was warmer and had a lot more space.
Seeing her almost every day helped me regain my belief, that what we were doing for the city was worth it. That even when the people we saved ran away screaming, it was okay because they were safe and not everybody was going to be accepting to who we are or what we do. Even if all we did was help from the shadows, at the end of the day it was better than nobody helping at all.
But tonight? I wasn’t expecting things to go differently. I was expecting an easy going conversation with a girl that I considered as my friend…and nothing else! Nope. But no, my family had to step in at some point. I just wasn’t expecting it to be so…awkward.
“So I told her that yes I do live on a boat but that it’s also none of her business!” Y/N was rambling about how her day had went, especially since she’d ran into someone she had known from high school. She had only graduated last year but nonetheless she wasn’t comfortable with people judging how she lived her life. “Good for you.” I chuckled warmly. Watching Y/N talk had slowly became one of my favorite things, maybe it was the way she described things or how she moved as she reenacted scenes but all I did know was that she looked beautiful. Wait, what?
A sharp tone sounded from Y/N’s bag, taking the irritating device out she answered it. “Oh! Hi Mom.” She blushed as she turned to face me, indicating the door she mouthed to me ‘Is it okay if I take this?’. I nodded, as if she had to ask, I knew she didn’t talk to her parents that often so who was I to say she couldn’t take a phone call?
Shooting me a bright smile before she scooted out the door, she gave me a small wave. I was still waving back even after she had closed the door. What was I doing? All we ever did was talk but I found myself wanting…more? God, just having her as my friend was enough and I was grateful for that but it felt like I had known for a long time that I was looking for a lot more than friendship. Maybe this was why I had kept her away from the others?
*Third person POV*
Crawling through one of the many warehouse windows, the others gazed down at Leo. He was alone and looked a bit…sad? Raph couldn’t help but feel like he was right, maybe the girl was working for the foot and had only just revealed it to Leo after he had given her all the information. On the other hand he should probably check in with his brother before jumping the gun, like he had ever done that before? There was something about how Leo was holding himself that made Raph think twice.
Jumping down, the others followed, with Casey falling into a pile of boxes becoming a clear indicator to Leo that he was no longer alone. Shooting up from his makeshift chair (a crate) Leo skittishly met the eyes of his brothers. “Oh-Hey! Hey guys…what’s up?” Blushing all kinds of shades of green, Leonardo internally face palmed at how he handled their arrival.
“What’s up? What’s up! You have been leaving the lair without telling us for months Leo! Months! We’re worried! That’s what’s up!” Raph yelled. He may not have jumped the gun but he still had a right to be angry. “I’ve…I’ve been busy Raph.” He mumbled pathetically, embarrassed. “Busy? How can you be busy? You haven’t got many hobbies besides taking down the foot! So unless you’ve been doing missions by yourself I want to know exactly what you’re doing?! No excuses!” Raph questioned harshly, Donnie and Mikey just looked disappointed with April and Casey awkwardly standing there witness the family argue. Well, one-sidely argue.
“I…met someone.” The leader muttered, hoping it wouldn’t go as badly as it had so far. “Oh you mean that girl? Who is she? Do you even know Leo? She could be working for the bad guys did that even cross your mind?!” The ran banded turtle accused. “She’s my friend and she saved me! If she was our enemy she would have left me! Or she would’ve hurt me by now, she wouldn’t have let it go on for this long!!” He finally snapped, not wanting Raph to turn his anger to Y/N. She didn’t deserve it after all she had done.
“Look bro just because you got a girlfriend doesn’t give you the right to just flake out on us and not tell us.” Mikey rubbed his arm, sad that all of the lying had to lead to this (but realistically how else was it going to turn out). “Mike I never meant for-wait you think she’s my girlfriend?” Leo’s blush returned in full force. The fact that other people saw it too made him think he wasn’t going crazy? “Well she is. Isn’t she?” April perked up.
“Uhhh-” Before Leo had a chance to explain the warehouse door creaked open. “Hey sorry that took so long my mom wanted to tell me about…macarons?” You seemed to question yourself as your eyes met the three other turtle men and two people. “Um…Hi?” You waved awkwardly, making your way over to Leo. “You didn’t tell me there were others like you?” You laid your doe eyes on him and all of a sudden it felt like his legs were made of jelly.
“Um, I didn’t know when to bring it up?” His voice squeaked as he smiled uneasily. “Well anyway, I’m Y/N. It’s nice to meet you!” You beamed as you looked back at the turtles, making eye contact with the one that seemed to be glaring at you. “Huh, I’m sure you’d love for him to tell you everything wouldn’t you?” Raph snarked “Raph don’t.” Donnie finally spoke up. “No, maybe I should because nobody else will, not even Leo! Who’s supposed to be our fearless leader. It’s ridiculous! He’s so distracted he has no idea if she’s gonna stab him in the back or not.” Donatello glared at his brother as he made his argument right in front of you.
“Wait, you think I’m going to betray your trust?” Turning back to Leo, you needed to know if this was true. “My brothers do. I don’t think you would.” You could tell he was being sincere by how he was looking into your eyes. It made you want to melt. “Hey! Don’t group us into Raph’s spiel! We don’t even know her yet. Besides I don’t see why this is so different from when we met April and Casey.” Mikey reasoned. “Mike’s right. I’m April by the way.” She shook your hand, smiling warmly. “I’m Casey.” He introduced by waving behind the reporter.
“And I’m Michelangelo! Leo’s younger brother and the best looking of the group!” He winked as he slung an arm around you. Jealousy flared up in him for a moment, he shoved him off of you. “Sorry about him, he doesn’t know personal space is a thing!” He growled at the orange banded brother. You laughed at the interaction, “I didn’t know they were your brothers! That’s so cool!” Placing a hand on Leo’s arm you watched him calm down at your touch.
“Anyway I’m Donatello, some would say I’m the brains either way I’m far more intelligent than these knuckleheads.” The purple banded turtle quipped before Raph could throw a punch at him. You were still a bit nervous about him, he clearly didn’t trust you and was very protective of Leo and his family. “Don’t worry, if the others are okay, Raph will be too. He just needs time.” It was as if Leo could read your mind. With the amount of time you two had spending together lately, you wouldn’t be surprised if he had picked up on your mannerisms.
*a couple hours later*
“I mean…it wouldn’t be all that bad if Leo brought you by the lair sometime. Maybe even meet master Splinter.” Raph admitted. You’d thought it would take a couple of days, months maybe to earn even a shred of trust. Although the way you treated and held yourself around his brothers convinced him that you didn’t have a malicious bone in your body.
“Thanks Raphael.” You smiled politely, trying your best to not show how tired you really were. The others had called it quits for the night after hanging out for a bit, dawn was almost here and the turtles couldn’t be seen in daylight hours. “I’ll see you all soon, alright?” Patting down your pockets, you started to back away, double checking you hadn’t forgotten anything. “Aw hell yeah! Next time we see you, we’re playing Mario kart ‘kay?” Mikey pointed finger guns at you before bounding away. “Sure!” you giggled.
Donnie nodded, bowing slightly before walking alongside April and Casey who were yawning, leaning against each other. “I’ll walk you back to the boat.” Leo offered, giving you that smile with all the warm feelings behind it. “Thanks.” You grinned back, kicking the snow in your path into the frigid water below. Living at the docks was usually cold, but with Leo around it made you forget how alone you were, how cold reality was. You wish he was around more often but after tonight you realized how much he had given up just to come and see you. Even though what he did was wrong it made you feel…special, like you were special to him.
“Is it true you snuck away from your family just to see me?” Curiosity boiled over, the look on Leo’s face confirmed it. He felt guilty, you know that, but had it been worth it? “Yeah…it’s true. I just, didn’t know how to tell them…how to tell you, I can’t even imagine what master splinter would say if he found out I got knocked out so easily and was rescued by…you.” It seemed a bit back handed the way he had phrased it, like his father wouldn’t like you, but the way he had said it was completely different. His whole demeanor had turned soft and a short walk felt like it lasted an eternity.
When you reached the boat, facing him before saying goodbye, searching for the words you knew you had to say. Leo beat you to it. “I don’t want to make anything awkward between us after tonight. I hope you know that the last couple of months have been really…special, to me. I just want to know if they’ve been special to you too.” He admitted albeit sheepishly. “Of course they have Leonardo. I don’t think I could ever be awkward around you, if anything you calm me down. Even that night when I found you out cold in the shed, I knew I should have been panicking but knowing you needed help, my help, calmed me right down. Somehow I found the strength to get you back.” You let a little laugh, feelings bubbling beneath your words. You just wondered if he felt it too.
“I’m happy to have you in my life and I knew that meant introducing you to my family eventually. I just wasn’t expecting it to be in the form of an interrogation.” You both burst out laughing at that one. Starting to see color in your peripheral vision, you knew the sun was waking up. “Leo tonight was awesome, I don’t mind that you kept your family a secret, for whatever reason. Besides I look forward to beating Mikey at Mario kart.” Chuckling uneasily, you didn’t want to say goodbye, even if you were going to see him the next night. It had become less and less easy as your feelings towards him had grown. He gave you a half smile before stepping forward, the beginnings of sunlight glinting in his eyes. Your heart rate picked up as you realized you were practically chest to chest. “I’ll see you tonight.” He breathed. You could…you wanted to, but was it the right moment? Of course it was, but you could tell he was nervous underneath. His eyes were searching every other part of your fave besides your eyes and…lips. “See you.” You whispered slowly, dragging out the moment.
That was when his eyes met your lips, his head tilted slightly, sun rays creeping dangerously up his skin. All it took was breaking down the last of your resolve and trusting your toes to carry you the rest of the way. It was a brief brushing of lips, eyes meeting before he wrapped his arm around your back, his other hand cupping your cheek. He was surprisingly warm, each kiss told you that, even with your eyes closed you could tell he was smiling. He was buzzing with such happy energy. Wrapping your arms around his head in a prom-esque kind of way, you leaned into him, soaking in all the warmth before he pulled away for air.
You could see the sun rising in the blue, but you knew he was staring at you. “I really wish I didn’t have to go right now. I wish I could stay.” Leaning his forehead on yours, his hands on your hips now. All you could do was smile up at him. “Just think of it as something to look forward to tonight.” You smirked. “Heh, I tried to tell Mikey that I wasn’t ‘cruising’ or whatever but I realized tonight I kind of was.” He flirted back, kind of. “You tell yourself that honor boy, I’m the one who found you in the shed.” You laughed before giving him a gentle push.
“See you.” He pecked your lips again before finally separating from you. “See you then.” Beaming, you stepped onto the boat, watching him jog away with a wide grin on his face. Before you knew it he was out of sight and you were doing a little victory dance.

Extra: “Sanitize” and a Scandalized Outsider (Impropriety)
Almost 2k words this time! This was the extra that won the Discord vote: “An outside POV of Yui's clinic, from the perspective of a merchant who is constantly scandalized by all the impropriety going on in Chiyuku and surprised at what the village considers normal.” It’s aptly titled Impropriety, and it’s a little after the events of Chapter Twelve. Enjoy!
---
Usaku Kobayashi heaved a sigh of relief when he saw the town of Chiyuku in the distance. Despite his travels, Usaku had never been to this side of Fire Country, and it seemed shockingly undeveloped compared to the northeastern provinces.
“Finally,” he groused.
The ninja walking alongside their caravan tilted his head in agreement--though Usaku was beginning to suspect that it was amusement. They’d hired an escort from the Hyuuga clan, one of the few clans of ninja that actually had things like manners, but the downside was their eerie eyes and habits. The Hyuuga never even turned to look at them, but he seemed to know everything that went on around them--and had a need to comment on it. (That was exactly what they needed, a defective chatty Hyuuga.)
“Brother, aren’t you excited, though? This is all so novel!” Natsuki tried to lean out to see, but Usaku instinctively shielded her from prying eyes. His sister’s enthusiasm, unlike his, hadn’t flagged at all. Perhaps that was to be expected. This was her first time out of their estate.
Well. ‘Estate.’ They barely had more than a title to their name, thanks to their father and grandfather. It was only Usaku’s dirty merchant dealings that gave them enough wealth to hire more than three servants--and arrange Natsuki’s match.
That was the whole reason they were traveling. Lord Hirohota, his sister’s fiance, had requested to meet Natsuki ahead of the wedding party. Which was… odd, perhaps concerningly progressive, but he was, frankly, a much better match than Usaku had expected. It wasn’t like they could say no.
“We should rest at Chiyuku for a night,” said Hyuuga in his disconcertingly soft voice.
“Yes, we all need a rest!” Natsuki agreed. “Oh, it would be so nice to sleep in a bed again, though it was just as interesting to sleep in the caravan!”
Usaku scowled, and Natsuki drew back, abashed. It was a little uncouth for a woman to speak about her sleeping habits, and she knew he didn’t like her talking to the ninja. Their kind might be a necessity, especially in these uncivilized parts, but a well-bred lady didn’t need to associate with them.
Still, he had a point. “We will rest.” Not that Hyuuga looked like he needed it.
“We can procure some medicine for your knee, also,” Hyuuga continued. “I recall you also mentioning some interest in the medicine trade of these parts. Lord Hirohota has some stake in it, I believe.”
Usaku didn’t scowl again, but he did press his lips together. He didn’t appreciate the reminder of his rather embarrassing injury--he’d tripped when stepping off the caravan and landed badly.
The best ninja, his father had said, on the rare occasion he wasn’t drunk, are like furniture. You forget they’re there until you need them. This Hyuuga was the bad kind of furniture. Forgettable, until you tripped right over him when he opened his mouth and reminded you. Frequently.
… perhaps that hadn’t been the best analogy.
Regardless, the ninja volunteered his opinion far more than he should. Which was at all. As Usaku mused over whether he could bargain for a refund, or at least a discount, his party quickly got situated at one of their inns. It was acceptable, though barely so. Everything was… quaint, and rural.
Somewhere along the line, Natsuki wheedled her way into accompanying Usaku to the healer. He would much prefer her staying in the room with her maid, but he supposed he could allow her this. (He would miss her. His sweet sister was being married off to a lord four weeks away, and soon letters would be their only mode of contact.)
“This is the healer’s place?” Usaku raised his eyebrows.
“Indeed,” the ninja confirmed.
As they waited to be allowed entry, Usaku realized there was something different about the clinic’s construction, something about the wood… it looked almost seamless. Usaku didn’t know much about this healer (other than him being shockingly effective), but he must have been better than expected to afford something like this.
Usaku noted signs of more construction around them; foundations of new buildings were scattered like weeds. This town was growing, then. Perhaps it would be a wise investment.
The door opened. A tanned peasant woman smiled at them, dressed in rather nice kosode. It was solid color, but the material was quality cotton, and her obi had delicate embroidery around the borders. The healer’s wife, perhaps?
“Hello,” she said, inclining her head. “Do come in.”
The woman bustled around, serving them tea and doing all the other expected domestic niceties. In the corner was a young man stitching up a deep gash on a sniffling child. Usaku obliquely stepped to the left, hiding them from Natsuki’s view. Was that the healer? He seemed rather young, barely out of an apprenticeship, especially to have a wife a half-dozen years older. Perhaps he was the apprentice, and the master healer was out and about.
Usaku took the tea, and he sipped, resigned to have the dredges of soggy leaves that these places considered quality. He stopped at the first mouthful.
“This is good!” he said out loud, immediately embarrassed at his lack of decorum. But it was. The tea was a sweet oolong, with a delicate green edge. It was at least on par with the tea he normally drank.
“I’m glad,” said the woman, still smiling. “It’s Hyuuga-san’s favorite, if I recall correctly.”
The ninja nodded. “I am honored that you remember.”
Usaku was shocked to hear the deference in the killer’s voice, and he tried to cover it up with another sip. Natsuki tilted her head, hands delicately clasped around the cup. Honestly, the quality of the tea set was at least as good as the one they used at home. Was the woman trying to impress them with the finest they had? His sister had also noticed the ninja’s reaction, but she was also too curious for her own good.
“You know Hyuuga-san?” she asked slyly.
The ninja answered for her. “I have had the pleasure of meeting Yui-san.”
Only one name, then? That wasn’t unusual for peasants, and Usaku doubted that Hyuuga would be improper enough to be familiar with another man’s wife. Before she could reply, the healer apprentice finished his task, and the kid ran forward, shyly hugged Yui’s leg, and scampered away.
Yui smiled and shook her head.
She truly must be a cornerstone for her husband, Usaku thought. Though nothing beautiful--especially with that sun-darkened skin--Yui seemed like a competent manager of the household, enough to command affection from children and respect from ninja. Of course, the latter was likely more out of respect for her husband… Usaku really wanted to meet that man. Yui was asking after an old injury of the Hyuuga’s, so he turned to the apprentice rather than interrupt them.
“When will your master return, boy?”
The young man paused in washing his hands. (Usaku had been introduced to him, but the name had slipped from his memory.) “My… master?” he said, confused, looking to Yui.
“Yes,” he said, impatient. The boy continued to blink. Thankfully, there was a lull in the conversation, so Usaku returned his attention to Yui rather than waste anymore time. “Madam, when will your husband return? I wanted to ask him about a salve for sprains, and perhaps discuss business.”
Yui looked just as surprised, and he revised his estimate of her utility. “I’m not married,” she said dumbly.
Heavens. She wasn’t a kept woman, was she? No, her clothing didn’t suggest that, and he felt a little guilty for entertaining the thought. Yui was an unmarried relation, then, perhaps a sister, niece, or cousin to help manage the bachelor’s affairs--and procure a match with his contacts.
“The master healer,” he said more gently. Yui wasn’t that old. She still had a chance, though the match wouldn’t be so strong. “When will he return?”
Yui raised a hand to cover her mouth, and Usaku worried at first that some tragedy had happened--had he passed away?--but he realized that she was actually hiding a smile. The apprentice openly laughed, and the Hyuuga was glaring at him, mortified. (It was frankly terrifying, seeing such a display of emotion from him, especially with those eerie blank eyes.)
Usaku looked at his sister, bewildered, and was glad to see she looked as confused as him.
After a moment, Yui lowered her hand. “I’m the healer,” she said, voice steady.
“You’re what!?” He barely avoided dribbling his tea.
“Oh!” said Natsuki, setting her tea down, eyes gleaming in a way that made Usaku nervous. “You’re the healer? You’re not an assistant?”
“This is my clinic,” she confirmed. “Eiji’s my apprentice.”
“I--But--” Usaku blinked at her. He’d been caught off guard; the place seemed so civilized, but it held tighter to rural sensibilities than expected. “Why? Are you not wealthy enough to be married?”
She certainly seemed so; Usaku noted silk hangings that could only come from Lightning country. That should fetch a decent price for a peasant’s wedding.
“I enjoy my work,” Yui said firmly. “I work not because I have to, but because I want to.”
“I apologize for my client,” the Hyuuga said suddenly, stiffly. “I did not realize he had made such an assumption. He is from the northeastern part of Fire Country, and they are rather isolated.”
Was… was the ninja making excuses for him? Was he apologizing like Usaku was some rural country bumpkin!? The nerve of him!
Her apprentice snorted. “Sensei, perhaps I should serve the tea next time. Maybe these out-of-towners would stop assuming then.” Eiji gave him a derisive look, and Usaku puffed up further. “At least he wasn’t as bad as the man who thought you were my servant.”
Usaku wanted to give them both a piece of his mind, but Natsuki kept him from doing even that.
“It must be quite interesting to work,” she said, beaming. It was an admirable attempt to smooth over his impropriety, but he didn’t quite like that she had more than polite curiosity in the way she phrased it. “How were you educated as a healer?”
Usaku fumed, keeping his mouth shut, as Yui shared fanciful ideas with his sister. She consorted with ninja, alone! And healed strange men with no thought to privacy! Uncouth, truly uncouth. No wonder she wasn’t married. Usaku would have stormed out, but the Hyuuga kept glancing at him, and he thought better of it. He didn’t bother to ask for salves or open talks for business, not with that woman, not after how he’d been treated. He kept to icy formality and took the soonest opportunity to leave.
After as short of a stay they could manage, Usaku and the caravan set off again.
“Heavens, I am glad to be out of that provincial town!” he announced.
Natsuki didn’t respond. Instead, she looked back to the Chiyuku, an odd look in her eye.
“Hyuuga-san, how far is Chiyuku from Lord Hirohota’s estate?” she asked.
The ninja smiled. “Two week’s trip by caravan, my lady. Lord Hirohota’s liege, Lord Fukuyama, strongly favors Chiyuku and Healer Yui. She saved the young heir’s life.”
Usaku’s stomach dropped.
“Did she?” said Natsuki, sounding delighted.
“Indeed. Lord Hirohota’s estate has begun to invest in Chiyuku’s construction; the lord sent his architect on Lord Fukuyama’s request. I think you may meet Healer Yui again.”
“Hyuuga,” said Usaku sharply. “We did not ask for your input.”
The ninja tilted his head and fell silent. But when Natsuki looked out the window again, she was smiling.

Not a fic but if I ever got around to writing one, it’d go like this.
It’s been nearly a year since the incident with Katakuna.  NB and Danny are still making their way through their new relationship, taking time to relearn each other and help Danny stop his bad habits.
Danny still feels guilty for what he’s done, even with NB’s forgiveness.  After seeing Aoichi’s sketchbook on NB’s bed, something NB likes to look through from time to time, he comes to a decision. He’s going to make things right.
While NB is out training, Danny enters his room and after paying his respects at the alter and promising Aoichi that he’ll fix this, he goes through NB’s chest full of scrolls.  Finding one he takes it along with his ninja gi that NB kept in his room as a keepsake.  He still can’t believe that he’s going to wear it again.
He goes to his room and puts up a sound barrier, before opening the scroll on his bed.  He doesn’t come out until later that evening when NB returns and they cook dinner together.  They relax in the living room, NB reading a book, while Danny watches a show.  He’s periodically glancing at NB and NB notices but doesn’t say anything, figuring whatever is the cause of Danny’s nervous tension, he’ll eventually let him know.
When they go upstairs to bed, Danny flashes through several symbols and when NB turns towards him to kiss him good night, Danny presses two fingers to his forehead, causing a spark of chakra to flare within him.  NB stares at him in confusion but Danny just grins and kisses NB before going into his room.  NB shrugs the moment off and enters his own room. Just because he and Danny are together doesn’t mean his spontaneous habits have ended.
The next day, after making sure NB is gone for training, Danny makes his way down to the hangar below their house and activates the tiem musheen.  He had NB teach him how to use it a while ago.  Entering a set of coordinates, he vanishes in an instant.
Danny appears in the middle of a thick forest.  One that he recognizes.  After taking time to camouflage the tiem musheen as best as he can, he takes off into the trees.  He’s heading for NB’s village.  He doesn’t have much time.  He’d set the tiem musheen for a couple of hours before his clan's surprise raid.
Running at top speed, Danny silently scales the perimeter wall and drops low to the ground, stealthily making his way to the village leader’s headquarters.  He manages to stay out of sight from the patrolling ninjas, mentally thanking NB for convincing him to pick back up on his training.  He was still a long way from NB’s skill level but he was feeling more comfortable with his reawakened abilities.
Reaching the hq, Danny monitors the movements of the occupants from the rafters.  He easily finds Aoichi and follows the cheerful child.  It’s clear he hasn’t been trained as a ninja, even Danny would have sensed being followed at that age.  Knowing this increases Danny’s guilt.  He truly had killed an innocent and harmless child without question.  Shaking his head, Danny steels himself.  He’s here to change that but he has to be careful.  If things went as he planned Aoichi would not die and Danny and NB would remain on their current paths.  Though Danny wished he could make his past self treat NB better, it was for the best that they go through the same beats in order to end up where they are now.
Danny waited patiently, watching Aoichi draw happily in his notebook until he hears the alarms sound.  The attack had begun and ninja Daniel would soon appear.  Aoichi jumps to his feet, intent on going to find his father but is blocked by a figure in front of the door.  Danny flashes through several hand symbols as ninja Daniel draws his sword and slices it across Aoichi’s neck, severing his head in an instant.  Flicking the blood off his blade, ninja Daniel stares at the body a moment before vanishing out the window.
Danny drops down from the rafters and rushes over to the futon closet and yanks it open to see a terrified Aoichi staring up at him. Danny lets out a sigh of relief that it worked.  In a trembling voice, Aoichi asks who he is and Danny smiles and says a friend of your big brother.  Aoichi’s eyes widen and he begins asking several questions.  Having always wondered about his missing brother.  With a laugh Danny helps him out of the closet and pats him on the head, telling him that one day he’ll get to meet his brother but in the meantime he should be happy and enjoy his  life.  With that Danny gathers up the fake body he substituted for Aoichi and with a final look at the boy, rushes out and back to the tiem musheen.
Aoichi is in awe at the stranger who saved him and tells his father who is struck by how close he came to losing him, especially after the reports say it was the notorious ninja Daniel who had come for his son. He immediately begins Aoichi’s ninja training.  Realizing that leaving his son defenseless is a mistake. He can’t lose the last of his family.
Aoichi is surprised at his father’s change of heart and is excited to become a ninja like his parents and brother.  Aoichi learns the basics from his father but enters their village training, learning a much harsher and crueler way of ninjutsu. His thoughts never stray far from his missing brother.  He’s seen how losing him and his mother has affected his father and wants to bring their family together.
Over the years Aoichi doesn’t forget what the stranger said but he has a goal now.  He’s become a strong ninja.  One his father is proud of.  Aoichi hopes his mother is proud as well.  He’s about to start his most important mission he requested.  Bring his brother back from the one who deceived him into deserting their clan and who attempted to assassinate him as a child.  NB will be forgiven as long as he swears allegiance to the clan.  Aoichi is sure NB will come back home to his family.  Ninja Daniel must pay for what he’s done and Aoichi will see to it that he does.
Danny makes it back home without any problems and goes back into the house.  He feels a shift in his chakra and notices that he now has two sets of memories for the last year.  One where Katakuna showed up and took NB and one where he didn’t.  Danny can’t help but frown at the fact that he still treats NB badly in the Katakuna free memories.  That’s exactly why he learned the forbidden jutsu, so he and NB could still be together.
Walking into the kitchen he then notices the disturbed chakra energy lingering within.  He finds NB on the floor near the stove clutching his head, his expression filled with pain and confusion.  Danny is at first confused thinking he would return at the same time he left but it looks like he messed that up. Rushing over to NB, Danny drops to his knees and grabs him, asking what’s wrong.  “What did you do?!”  NB practically yells, wincing as another sharp pain goes through his head.  “My memories...they’re all messed up!  My father...I have a brother?  The two of us...we’re toget...Danny what’s going on?”  He asks, looking up at Danny with pleading pain filled eyes.
Danny doesn’t answer, his hands flying through symbols.  NB’s eyes widen further seeing the sequence for a forbidden jutsu.  “Danny wha-“. “Hush Brian.”  Danny orders as he presses two fingers to NB’s forehead.  The pain instantly vanishes and NB can feel his confusing memories rearranging neatly into two sets.  He falls forward into Danny’s arms in exhaustion and relief.
Danny wraps his arms around NB and presses a kiss to his forehead.  “I’m sorry Brian.”  He says. NB grabs his hand and lightly squeezes it.  “You saved him...didn’t you.”
Danny nods, not bothering to deny it.
 “I had to.”
NB is unsure of how to feel.  On one hand he’s happy that he may be able to go visit and get to know his little brother, on the other hand he knows it can’t be that easy.  Not when it comes to time travel.  Something unexpected could always occur.
It’s only a few days later when the unexpected happens.  NB is out training when he senses someone approaching him.  He’s initially confused that whoever is coming isn’t bothering to hide their presence.  For a moment he thinks it’s Danny but the chakra signature is off but it still feels familiar to him.
NB waits patiently, making sure to keep his guard up.  There isn’t any aura of danger coming from the being but from the way they are moving, it’s clear they have been trained in ninjutsu as well.
Seconds later, a being clad in black drops from the trees a few feet from NB.  Straightening up from a crouch, the being looks up at NB with bright green eyes.  NB feels his breath hitch, as memories of growing up amongst a sea of green, flood his mind.
The being stares silently at NB as if assessing him while NB does the same.  The being is of medium build, slightly taller than NB but shorter than Danny.  His aura exudes confidence while also giving off a gentle demeanor.
This mystery person, in a way, reminds NB of Danny.
“I’ve finally found you.”  The ninja says, reaching up and pulling off his mask.  “Nii-san.”
NB eyes widen at the label, said with such fondness.  The green eyes plus the scar drawn across the bridge of his nose, mirroring NB’s own...this person could only be...
“Ao-Aoichi?”  NB whispers in disbelief.
The young man’s eyes light up with confusion, wondering why he can hear and not hear NB, before he shrugs it off and smiles, letting out a childish giggle.  His short black curls shake as he cocks his head to the side, looking over NB once more.
“Father said it was unlikely I’d find you but I proved him and everyone wrong.”  Aoichi walks over, standing before NB.  “I’m actually surprised you know who I am…”  He says, trailing off.  “We’ve never met before, right Nii-chan?”
That was right.
NB had never met Aochi before but because of Danny saving his memories of the other timeline, he knew of him and with that came all the pain he had to go through learning the truth of what Danny had unintentionally caused.
Aoichi standing here now was his way of atonement.  His way of fixing things.
But at what cost.
Letting out a sigh, NB reached up and pulled his mask off, dropping it to the ground.  Aoichi’s smile widens further, now fully seeing the big brother he’d always wanted to meet. The one he’d draw in his sketchbooks, going off a few pictures and his parents stories.
Throughout his childhood and his ninja training NB was always on his mind.  His goal.  Bringing their family back together and now after all these years, here he was right before him.
NB let out a startled gasp, when Aoich suddenly pulled him into a tight hug, burying his face in NB’s shoulder.
“I’ve dreamt of this moment for so long.”  He says, his voice cracking.  “I know ninjas shouldn’t do this.  Show emotion but…”  Pulling back, Aoichi stares into NB’s blue eyes and sees them soften as he smiles up at him.
“It’s alright.”  NB says.  “Sometimes emotions are necessary.”
Aoichi feels a tingle in the back of his mind and suddenly he feels even more aware of NB’s presence.  He was definitely going to have to ask how he was speaking with his mind.  NB then pulls him back into the hug, catching him off guard.
“I’m glad you’re doing well, otoutou.” He says.
Aoich’s eyes widen.  For the first time in his life, hearing his big brother calling him little brother with a fondness that felt like they hadn’t just met.  That this moment meant as much to NB as it did to him.  Aoichi could feel his eyes stinging.  He ducked his head, trying to hide the tears.
The joy filling him, surrounding them both.  Finding what was once lost but now found.
Aoichi couldn't remember a time when he was happier.
“Hey Brian, you still out here?”
Aoichi’s eyes snapped open as NB patted his back and pulled free of the hug.
“Over here, Danny.”  He called out.
His head turned slowly, eyes wide as he watched the source of his hatred walk out of the trees.  An easy going smile on his face, his smile widening further as he looked between NB and Aoichi.  As if he had something to be pleased about.
How dare he?
Eyes narrowing, Aoichi stepped partially in front of NB, earning a confused look.
He could feel his blood boiling, seeing the one who had caused so much strife in his village and in his family.
The one who had taken his precious brother away.
“Ninja Daniel.”

For: @damsel-loves-machines cause it's all their fault
Leo always wondered if there was a difference between “sleeping” and “passing out”  All he knew was that one minute he was leaping in joy at the Shredders capture, and the next moment he was laying on Raph’s shell with the world going black.
Huh
Maybe he had passed out
Either way, he was waking up now with everything a blue around him. The only thing he was sure of was that Raph’s shell wasn’t the best pillow (or the worst he ever had, to be honest). He felt a warm blanket wrapped around his shell, the edges tucked in around him cocooning him in it.  He would have been embarrassed except his blanket was so warm and soft enough to melt some pain from his muscles. Even so he forced his tired eyes open. The lights and colors swirled around the room, reminding him of that Lou Jitsu Anti Drug Movie Splinter had shown them when they were going to the surface for the first time (Lou Jitsu and the Obligation You Have to Your Body). It took a few moments fro the colors to move to their rightful place and everything to come into focus. He had been right when he thought he had been using Raph’s shell as a pillow, but he wasn’t the only one. April was snuggled right into Raph’s shell with Mikey curled up on Raph’s shell like a cat. Donnie was resting his cheek on Leos’ bicep, if he had been more awake he would of teased his sleeping brother except when he opened his mouth to do so he realized his mouth was insanely dry, so much so when he took a breath he ended up hacking loudly.
“Hold on Blue.” Where Splinter had come from he had no idea, he craned his neck to see his father tucking another blanket around April. Splinter stepped around his ‘burritoed’ sleeping children to a water cooler Leo hadn’t noticed and a first aid kit sitting by it, pulling out a bottle of water and sitting by Leo’s side, “Here,” he cracked the seal for him before holding out the bottle . Greedily, Leo took the bottle and guzzled the water down. Other then the cup of tea he had with Big Mama he wasn’t sure he had anything to drink in days, “Thanks Pop.”
“How are you feeling?”
“Like I leapt onto a Yokai train, fought a supped up Draxum, fought a army of trolls, and Kraken Tom AND a feral robot cat.” His need to stretch nearly surpassed his bodies desire to stay warm. Speaking of Which, he tucked his arm back into his blankets and resting his cheek on Don’s scalp, “How long were we asleep?”
“I lost track, it took a few hours to get you all home and we only got home a few minutes ago.” It was only then Leo noticed how tired his father looked, the dark circles around his eyes gave the impression someone had broken his nose. He was almost afraid that looking at him too long would knock him over, “Dad are you ok?”
“Just a little antsy from missing so much tv.” A classic Dad move, drown concern with humor. Leo wasn’t sure if all dads did that, but his did. Leo asked, “Ok what do we have to do?”
“You are going to be resting.”
“I’m not tired, I mean I had it relatively easily compared to everyone else. I want to help Dad please?”
His father gave him a look, if he had been at full energy Leo was sure he’d tell him no. But as it stood he probably barely had enough energy to talk, “Ok fine, but if you start getting tired you rest. Alright?”
“Deal.”  It paid to be the smooth talker of the group, not that he had done a lot of that mind you, “OK Daddio, what’s the plan?”
Splinter looked out over his brothers, “I know everyone’s tired but they need to take a shower and eat some food. Make sure they all drink some water. I’m going to start making some soup. I brought out a few bags of chips to hold you all over.”
Even the thought of food had his stomach agreeing loudly. Loudly enough to make Donnie flinch in his sleep and roll over away from him. “Good idea.” He grinned sheepishly as his father patted him on the head and stood up. As he walked away his muscles popped continuously like someone rolling on bubble wrap.
Leo yawned and sat up. Water, and showers. That was a good plan. First though, he wanted to get everyone’s clothes, he knew how badly he wanted his own pajamas right now. He stood up and went around the lair at a snails pace, gathering everyone’s pajamas from their rooms and April sleepover bag from the closet putting them all in the bathroom in neat little stacks. It took almost all his remaining energy and he  himself nearly collapsing back on his pile of family before shaking April by the shoulder, waking her with a snort “Hey Ap.” Leo took up a water bottle, handing it to her, “Get some water in you and take a shower. I put your bag in the bathroom.” He slid off her glasses, “I’ll clean these while you’re in there.”
“Thanks.” She drank from the bottle before standing up shrugging off her coat and heading away, shaking out her coat before disappearing into the bathroom. Leo pinched some of his spandex between two fingers and rubbed them over the surface of Aprils glasses to get the excess dirt off before setting it aside. It was then he remembered the tv in the Living room. He took the remote and turned it on, setting it to automatically go through their online library of Lou Jitsu movies. Raph woke with a snort, “hmrmm?” Before looking to the tv,”Jitssuu.”
“Very observant Rapharino.” Leo handed him a bottle of water, “I figured this would be a better way to wake up.”
There was a scoff to his right, Donnie twisted around to glare at him through blurry eyes, “Or you could of just buried me and let me sleep forever.” Before twisting and curling back up into a bean shaped cocoon
“No cause then I couldn’t do this” Despite his exhaustion, Leo hopped forward onto his brother wrapping his arms around his middle sibling and squeezing him to him, Almost immediately Donnie  squawked and twisted around , bringing his feet up between them and kicking hard. Sending Leo flying off , “Gerrof you weirdo!”
Leo landed unceremoniously against Raph’s side, Donnie gave him  another glare before rolling away,” well you can’t be too tired if you have enough energy to shun me.”
“Bite me.”
Raph hissed loudly,” Enough you two, Mikeys’ still sleeping.”
Oh right, for a moment Leo felt guilty as he had completely forgotten that Mikey was still curled up on Raph’s shell, snoring away with enough drool pooling on Raph’s shell to drown a Kraken Tom. But he was sure Raph wouldn’t mind. Finally April left the bathroom, wrapped up in her favorite green pajamas and matching robe and thick socks and a matching hair wrap, “Alright whose next?” She said as she collapsed back on the ground wrapping back up in her blanket and pulling on her newly cleaned glasses. “I’ll go,” Raph said, putting aside his water bottle, “Someone get Mikey?”
“Got it.” Leo stood up on noodle legs and moved over to Raph, “Hey man.” He gave Mikey a shake on the shell, his youngest brother gave out a small whimper but otherwise stayed asleep. With no other option he slipped his hands under Mikey’s knee and behind his shell, “Come on little brother.” He said cradling Mikey to his chest and  stepping back setting Mikey on Pop’s armchair, Raph stood up, stretching his arms over his head and heading off to the bathroom. It was only when the door shut that Mikey’s eyes popped open, “SHREDDER!” His eyes twisting around the room in panic as he breathed quickly. Leo quickly knelt in front of the chair “Mikey its ok its ok.”
His youngest brother looked to him, his eyes swelled with tears again, “L-Leo I tried everything. I threw a freighter at him.  A freighter, and he just tore through it like lit was nothing. I tried. I tried-“
“I know, we know.” BeforeLeo could break out into a comfort speech, Mikey slid off the chair and curled up  against his chest. Leo wrapped his arms around him and held his trembling brother close. Don was there a breath later, “Its ok Mikey’ He whispered to, rubbing his shell before the purple masked turtle lowered his cheek to rest on Mikey’s shell. Leo reached to wrap his arm around Don’s shell when his brother flinched jerking away but not enough to let go of Mikey. Leo drew back, pride wounded but he ignored his own feelings. Donnie was a bundle of nerves at the moment, his whole cycle  had been interrupted and life thrown into chaos for three days. Of course he couldn’t handle someone touching him right now. Instead he gave Donnie a apologetic look and resumed rocking and comforting Mikey.
It was only then he noticed the burn onto of Mikeys scalp, though ti wasn’t’ bleeding. He urned to Donnie, looking to the burn then to his bedroom. Don nodded and left. Leo rubbed Mikey’s shell for a few minutes till Donnie came back, a tool box in one hand and a a first aid kit in the other. Leo was grateful he never had to use the toolbox, but anytime he had to open his first aid kit  he felt like he had failed. At this point Mikey had fallen asleep against his chest. He cleaned the burn and carefully taped out some gauze on it. Before he could close his kit, Mikey mumbled,’ I wanna Lou Jitsu bandaid.”
“No problem.” He pulled out a old yellowed cardboard box filled with bandaids from the eighties, and pulled out one of the bandaids. Though the special bandaid with Lou Jitsu posing on it would do nothing for the injury or keeping it clean, He laid it overtop of his already finished handiwork,” See? Lou Jitsu will help you  safe now.”
“I know,” Mikey yawned again, “Dad’s the best.”
After a few minutes, Raph let the bathroom in his bear pajamas and his retainer. Mikey went in next but barely took any time getting out before curling up back against Raph’s side. Leo made sure to hand over his sketchbook, his brother gave him a grateful smile before flipping the book open and sketching Lou Jitsu’s outfit from the movie rolling. He turned back to Donnie, who was curled up against the chair away from everyone else, “D its your turn.”
“Yeah hold on.’ Donnie blinked rapidly, “my contacts dried out during the fight and I didn’t notice till now.” Without warning, he used his thumb and forefinger to poke himself in the eye and drew out his contacts, despite Leos shriek of disgust,” EW BRO NO!! You should of warned me! I HATE seeing you take out your contacts.”
“You’re fine.” Donnie put the contacts in a napkin, “Damn it they were my last ones too.”
“I’ll go get your glasses from your room.”
“Um. NO. I hate those things.”
“Don’t be a baby Donnie, your glasses make you adoorrraaable.” He grinned, unhindered by Don’s lethal glare. Donnie wadded up his blanket and chucked it at his face “You are  SO annoying” he said before stomping out of the room.
“I knowwwww.” He sang after him. For the first time all night he finally felt like himself before his legs felt like jelly again. Leo kicked himself before going to Don’s room. It took a bit before he finally found Don’s old glasses in one of his boxes marked, “set on fire, don’t let brothers see”. Which would have been alarming, except Leo had seen all of Donnie’s “Burn” boxes and all they seemed to have were Lou Jitsu FanFiction’s in Donnie’s hand writing. Promising himself to read those later he took the thick framed glasses and went over to the bathroom. At this point the lair was filled with the smell of garlic, Parmesan and cooked noodles. Splinter was handing out bowls of soup to everyone in the living room. Leo would of killed for one of those bowls, but decided to sigh loudly and bang on the bathroom door, “D I got your glasses.”
The door opened, it was always weird to see Donnie without his mask or goggles even more now with that deep tired look in his eyes, “Thanks.” He grumbled pulling on his glasses, Leo made a point of letting out a big, “AWWWWWWWWW!” Before Donnie flipped him off, “Just take a shower nerd.” He said limping back to the group.
Limping?
Leo shook his head, no they were all limping. They were all tired. He had strapped enough ice packs to Raph’s body to permanently change his temperature. Tired and sore. Leo finally stepped into the bathroom and into the welcoming hot shower that relaxed every knot in his body.  It was only then he noticed how tired he really was. It took nearly everything he had to get dressed, but after that his body got its wish as he sank onto the floor
“Leo you ok?” Came Donnie’s voice
“I’m just going to stay in here, bring me some soup and a coffin.” He took a towel and curled it under his head. The door opened a moment later, Donnie immediately rolled his eyes, “You can’t sleep in here man, come on.”
Leo held his hands up to him,” carrrry me.”
“I’ll help you walk. That’s where I draw the line.”
“Deal.” He reached up again, Donnie heaved him up to his feet and put his body under his arm, taking his weight, “Thanks.” He said, he put his arm around Don’s shell when all of a sudden his brother shuddered, Leo pulled away immediately as Don doubled over, “Donnie what’s wrong?”
“Nothing it’s fine my backs just sore.”
Leo moved around to look at his brothers shell, there were three red streaks across the back of his pajamas”Holy shit D.” He quickly moved around the bathroom and took out a pair of scissors they kept in there. His hand came up and gently forced Donnie to kneel, cutting up the back of his pajama top, “Leo seriously, its fine-“
It was not fine, when he exposed Donnie’s shell and saw three short shallow scratches “Holy shit-“
“Quit saying that Leo, its not that bad.”
“Your shell is cut dude, it’s BLEEDING.”
“No its just leaking a bit, it stopped bleeding hours ago.”
“And its bleeding again.” Careful not to touch it, he looked close. His anxiety began to leave when he saw that the scratches were purely on the surface of his shell and hadn’t gone any deeper, still, “I’m going to go get the toolbox.”
“Don’t tell the others.” Don’s voice was quiet, but Leo nodded. Luckily everyone in the room was still eating Splinters noodle soup and watching Lou Jitsu and the Trekies (his only horror movie) the toolbox was sitting behind the chair where he had left it so it wasn’t too hard to grab it and duck back into the bathroom.
When he first got the first aid kit, it felt like someone had taken a giant burden off his shoulders. The idea he could actually do something to help his brothers Incase of emergency. But when he was washing his shell he realized there was nothing in that kit that could help if their shells were cracked.
That’s when the toolbox came in handy
It was his ‘emergency shell repair kit. Full of everything he might need incase one of their shells were cracked. He even had some bra wires just in case (he learned of that one from Tumblr). He pulled out a spray and covered his arm with his sleeve, “This’ll sting .” Before spraying the industrial antibacterial spray over the. Even though is brother flinched he didn’t say anything. Now all he had to do was wait for the liquid to dry, he was already pulling out  some gel and a roll of bandages , “Why didn’t you say anything? How did this happen?”
His brother didn’t say anything for a moment, “did you see the back of my battle shell?”
“Yeah you said it was damaged in the fight.”
“Cause of the Shredder. I threw all my tech at him, all my machines. Even my industrial toaster. He tore through it like it was nothing. Then he.” Don paused, “he tried to tear through me.”
Leo froze for a moment. The claws that had tore through Raph’s mystic form, the freighter, had come a inch from tearing in Don. The burn on Mikeys skull, and the ache that burdened Raph’s whole body. He blinked several times before applying the numbing medicine to Don’s cuts  and applying the bandages “I should of been there. I could of helped.”
“NO.” Donne turned to look at him, “Leo if you had been there we wouldn’t of made it. You saved us all. If you hadn’t shown up when you did.” He paused, unspoken between the two middle children. Even though the weren’t officially twins, they always had a way of reading each others minds. Knowing what the other was thinking. So Leo wasn’t at all surprised when Donnie reached out and took his hand, giving him a half exhausted smile,  that Leo could barely return, “Does this mean you finally trust me again?”
“Leo you tried to trade me to the Trash Wizard for his half eaten sandwich. What do you think?”
Despite himself, Leo chuckled, giving Don a shove on the arm. He managed to sneak Donnie his hoodie before the two fo them made it to the living room and the warm noodle soup. Leo drank three bowls before he fell back against Raph. Splinter had finally taken a shower and was in his rightful place in his chair. Everyone was finally awake enough to watch the movies. At some point Raph and April had gone to the kitchen and gathered a bundle of snacks into the living room. For a moment Leo just enjoyed the company. He enjoyed Mikey showing off his sketches to April, he enjoyed Raph shoveling a bag of chips into his mouth while commenting on the movie (for the eight time) he enjoyed his father glancing at all of them out of the corner of his eye to make sure everyone was ok, and he enjoyed Don leaning on his side  already messing with this arm tablet again as Leo watched over his shoulder
They were all alive
That was enough for now

Consolation Prize: Part 1
Tumblr media
“I think that should do it for tonight.” Donatello pushed away from the workbench and stood from his chair to stretch his long legs. “We’ll need to test the final compound and work on creating an efficient delivery system, of course, but it should neutralize both the acid and base properties rendering the chemicals useless.”
“And prevent the contamination of the city’s water supply.” A smile stretched April’s lips as she beamed up at him. “Don, you’re a genius.”
“That’s the rumor,” the ninja joked as he rolled his shoulders, relieving the kink in his neck from being bent over for so long.
April laughed and stood as well, stretching her slender body in an attempt to relieve her own aches and pains. She looked up at the turtle from beneath long eyelashes. “Seriously, Donnie, I really appreciate you taking the time to help me with this. I know you probably have a million other things you could be doing instead.”
“I’m happy to help. Besides,” Donatello shrugged, “that’s what friends are for, right?”
“Right,” April’s smile took on a sad edge. “I’m glad we’re able to do this,” she softly stated. “You know...after everything.”
“Yeah,” the bespectacled turtle quietly answered, a soft smile of his own gracing his lips. “Me, too.”
April didn’t need to elaborate. They hadn’t really talked about it, but Don knew exactly what she was referring to. He wouldn’t lie. He’d been hurt badly when he’d learned months ago of the woman’s relationship with Casey. At the time, he’d believed himself to be in love with her, hanging on her every word and action as if her very presence gave him life. The crush he’d had on the woman felt so silly now...embarrassing, really. Looking back, he could see that what had transpired between them, despite being a painful lesson, had actually been a blessing in disguise. If it weren’t for his heartbreak, he would have never found the amazing gift that had been staring him right in the face the entire time.
You.
He had a girlfriend...an incredible, beautiful, funny, intelligent girlfriend that he loved more than anything else in the world. Sometimes he felt like kicking himself for not realizing what you meant to him sooner, but then you’d smile at him or take his hand in your own and his heart would feel like it would want to explode right out of his chest and he’d forget about everything else except for you in that moment. The two of you just seemed to click so perfectly together, moving from friends to something more with surprising ease. You were able to see beyond the green skin and shell, down deep to who he really was and you loved him regardless. Him! How on Earth had he ever gotten so fortunate? His smile grew at the thought.
“You seem really happy,” the woman observed. “Things must be going well?”
“Things are great. I am really happy,” Donnie quickly confirmed. He gushed, a giggle escaping from his throat, “She’s...she’s amazing. Sometimes it’s still hard for me to believe it. She could have literally anyone she wants, but she still chose me for some reason.”
April made an amused sound. “She’s a smart girl. She knows a good man when she sees him.”
“Heh...” Donnie shook his head and looked away, embarrassed. “Uh...what about you and Casey?”
“You know.” April smirked and gave a half shrug. “Casey is Casey.”
“Ah,” Donatello wasn’t sure exactly how to respond and so merely nodded. To be honest, it was still a bit of a sore spot where his pride was concerned and he was glad she hadn’t gone into detail.
April sighed and stepped toward the turtle. Without warning, she wrapped her arms around him, ensconcing him in an embrace to the best of her ability with her cheek pressed against his plastron. “You’re a great guy, Donatello, I mean that. I’m happy for you...both of you. You deserve it. You all do.”
“Um,” the ninja stiffened slightly and patted her on the back awkwardly. Now that his feelings towards her had changed, it felt weird being so close to her. “Thanks, April. That means a lot coming from you.”
April lingered for a moment longer before pulling away and looking up at him with an almost melancholy expression. “Well...I guess I should probably get out of your way. Thanks again, Donnie. Enjoy the rest of your night.”
“You’re welcome,” Donatello replied softly as he watched the woman turn and slowly make her way out of the lab. “You, too.”
He stood there for a long moment after she left, a low hum emanating from deep in his chest as he turned the interaction over in his mind. He was glad that he and April were still able to work and spend time together as friends after all that had transpired. He’d been hurt and angry at her for a while, yes, but those feelings had faded once he’d had a real opportunity to sit down with himself and examine them. He still cared for her, but the giddy feeling of butterflies he’d once had whenever she was around had been replaced with a warm feeling of friendship, which he was thankful for. He could think clearly in her presence now and truly appreciate all she’d done to help his family. April was good people. She had a place in his heart, but it wasn’t exactly what he thought it would be. That space had been perfectly filled by another and he couldn’t have been more at peace with it.
He was a logical turtle. He put more stock in science than he did fate or destiny, but he couldn’t help feeling that everything had worked out as it was meant to. He’d been entirely truthful when he’d said he was really happy. He couldn’t imagine anything more satisfying or fulfilling than being in a romantic relationship with his best friend. You’d both decided to take things slow and he was perfectly okay with that. He’d never been in a relationship before, he was a turtle after all, and he appreciated the time to feel things out and get them just right. This was previously uncharted territory for him, for the both or you, really, but he couldn’t think of anyone he’d rather explore it with. He had plans, so many things that he wanted to do and experience, and he wanted to do those things with you, if you’d allow it.
Speaking of which...
Donnie’s eyes drifted toward the clock mounted on the wall and his eyes immediately widened behind his tortoise shell frames. An undignified squeak escaped from his throat as he bolted for the door. “Oh, no…no, no, no…”
The ninja burst out of his lab to find the lair more or less deserted. The lights were dim and the television silent. Muffled snores emanating from the couch reached his ears. He crept forward to peek over the back to see Mikey shell up, sleeping peacefully with his face buried in the cushions. Moving silently so as not to disturb his youngest brother, he crept toward the kitchen to find his older brother carefully rearranging the fridge in order to accommodate the evening’s leftovers.
Don cleared his throat, “Raph?”
“He lives,” Raph responded gruffly as he rose to his full height and turned to look at his brother. He inclined his head to the cardboard box he still held in his hands. “We saved ya some pizza.”
“I’m not…” Donnie shook his head. “I’m not hungry.”
“Suit yourself,” Raph shrugged and shoved the box into the space he’d cleared in the refrigerator. “Its there if ya change your mind.”
“Where, uh,” Donnie stuttered. “Where is everyone?”
“Where do ya think they are?” Raphael scoffed and slammed the refrigerator door and moved to shoulder his way passed his brother and out of the kitchen. “Its after 2 AM, genius.”
Donnie hurried after him. “I know, but…”
“If you’re askin’ about your girl,” Raph guessed, “she left over an hour ago. Leo was feelin’ all chivalrous and walked her home for ya. Ya know, since ya stood her up and all.”
“What?” Donatello squawked in indignation. “I didn’t stand her up!”
“Yeah?” Raph turned to look at his brother, one brow raised. “What do ya call it then? This ain’t the first time you’ve flaked out on her. You didn’t see her face after she sat here all night waitin’ on your sorry shell to remember she was here.”
“I-I was working,” the purple masked ninja defended. “I lost track of time!” Then, he added forlornly, “she didn’t even say goodbye…”
Raph looked pointedly at the other turtle. “Said she didn’t think you and April wanted to be bothered.”
“Bothered?” Donatello looked helplessly at his older brother. “Why would she even think that? She’s never a bother!”
“That’s not the impression she got. Look,” Raph shook his head and turned to continue his trek through the lair, “ya got a good thing goin’ here, Don. Ya don’t think any one of us would give our right arm to be in your shell? Ya got a great girl and she thinks the world of ya. I hate to see ya screw that up.”
“Wait,” a look of alarm settled over Donnie’s features. “You think I’m screwing things up?”
Instead of answering his brother’s panicked question, he stopped at the couch and balled his fist, knocking on Michelangelo’s shell. “Get up, Mikey,” he ordered. “Go get in bed.”
“Mmmkay…” the youngest turtle roused slowly, allowing his much larger brother to practically lift him from his reclined position by the rim of  his shell and set him on his feet. Bleary eyed, he moved almost zombie like in the direction Raph propelled him in with a careful shove. “G’night, bros…”
“Raph!” Donatello demanded, “what do you mean I’m screwing things up?”
Raphael sighed and held his hands up in a defensive manner. “All I’m sayin’, is that it ain’t a good look.”
Exasperated, Donnie demanded, “What does that even mean?”
“It means,” Raph started, “that all the movies and books I’ve ever seen have taught me that girls don’t like it when ya repeatedly blow ‘em off to go hang out with your ex.”
“My ex?” Donatello looked confused for a moment before what his brother was getting at dawned on him. “You mean April? April isn’t my ex anything,” the tall terrapin insisted. “We were never together! Nothing ever happened! She knows that!”
“Not for lack of tryin’,” Raph pointed out. “Do ya remember how twisted up ya got when ya thought she was ghostin’ ya?”
Donnie swallowed hard, nodding. “Yeah…”
“Now imagine,” Raph painted the picture, “that instead of sittin’ at home alone, worrin’ about ya, she was holed up somewhere with some guy she never stopped talkin’ about and fawnin’ over to your face. How would that make ya feel?”
Donatello felt like someone had punched him in the gut as what his brother was getting at hit him full force. “But,” the purple banded ninja shook his head, “she knows April and I are just friends. I’d never do anything to betray her trust like that. She’s not just my girlfriend…she’s my best friend. I love her. She knows that.”
Raph eyed the other turtle skeptically. “Does she?”
“Yeah…” Donnie answered hesitantly, now feeling unsure under his brother’s heavy gaze. “I-I think so…”
“Ya think so?” Raphael shook his head. “Ya better make damn sure that ya know so. A girl like that…she’s got options and they ain’t limited to mutant freaks. She doesn’t have to be slummin’ it down here in the sewers with your scaly ass.”
“Seriously?” If Donatello wasn’t panicked before, he was now. He could feel the color drain from his face and his heart begin a furious gallop in his chest at the thought of losing you. “You think she’ll leave me?”
Raph shrugged, obviously done with the entire conversation.
Fear gripping him, Donnie asked, “what do you think I should do?”
“I’m a turtle, not an advice columnist,” Raphael deadpanned as he moved off toward the room he and Mikey shared. He called back over his shoulder, “you’re the brainiac, you figure it out. I’m goin’ to bed.”
Donatello was left standing alone in the middle of the darkened lair, his eyes glassy with unshed tears and his heart breaking over the thought of losing you. His brilliant mind whirred at a million thoughts a minute, all swirling around how foolish he’d been lately when it came to you. Now that he thought about it, all the signs were there. He’d done it again. He’d taken you for granted. He’d let himself get sucked into another project, with April of all people, and hadn’t really considered how you’d feel about it. Relationships were so new to him that, honestly, it hadn’t even crossed his mind that you’d be upset.
He berated himself. How stupid was he? Of course you’d be upset! He knew he would be if the roles were reversed. He couldn’t lose you. He wouldn’t let that happen. You meant everything to him. You had to know how much he loved you. He’d make sure of it.
He checked the time and sighed. It was late. Too late to call you now or slip out and go to your apartment. He didn’t want to disturb you should you be sleeping. He’d already done enough damage for one evening and didn’t want to make things worse.
“I’ll call her first thing in the morning,” he promised himself. “I can fix this. I know I can. It’ll be fine.”
At least, he hoped it would be.

Nightmares
Tumblr media
So I accidentally deleted this one, so I’m having to post it here again.
@badthingshappenbingo
Prompt: nightmares
Fandom: Ninjago
Character: Lloyd
Trigger Warnings: self harm, PTSD
Lloyd was tired. He was so, so tired, and he didn’t know how much longer he could go for. Every night, when he fell asleep, he was plagued with haunting nightmares. They weren’t always the same, but they were terrible every time. He’d been awake for too long, he knew it, he hadn’t slept in days, but he couldn’t, he wouldn’t go back to sleep. Not when he knew what was waiting for him if he did.
He dragged himself through his days, trying desperately not to let his exhaustion show. He was the leader, he was the Green Ninja, he was better than this. His friends, they’d think he wasn’t fit to be the leader, they’d think he was weak, they’d realize that, despite having grown so fast, he was still just a little kid on the inside.
He poured himself yet another cup of coffee, scalding his throat as he drank it. He’d never liked it, but it kept him awake, and right now, that was what he needed.
During training, he was sluggish. When the other ninja commented on it, he laughed it off as being a little tired. When Kai managed to deliver an incredibly harsh hit to his gut, he promised he’d sleep it off. But he was lying. He was lying, and he felt so incredibly awful about it that he ended up throwing up in the bathroom a little while later.
At least none of his friends had been around to see it.
Lloyd stared in the mirror. He rubbed at the bags under his eyes, wishing they would go away. It was the fault of his stupid nightmares, his stupid problems, so many things, most of which had been resolved already, dammit!
But they continued to haunt him, wrapping him in their cold embrace. He couldn’t really escape. Realistically, he’d have to sleep eventually, he couldn’t possibly go on like this.  But he wasn’t going to let that happen until he found a solution to his nightmares, so for the time being, this would have to work.
“Lloyd?” Cole called, rapping on the door a few times. “You okay in there?”
“Yeah, sorry,” he said, opening the door and exiting out into the hallway. The world spun around him. He gripped the wall for support, blinking rapidly to righten himself.
“Whoa, maybe you should lie down. You’re not looking so good...” Cole said, helping Lloyd to stand.
“No!”
At the strange look Cole gave him, he quickly continued. “I mean... I’m fine, really. I just got dizzy.” He was lying through his teeth.
“You were doing pretty awful at training earlier too... are you sick?”
“Wow, thanks for the compliment.”
“For real though, I can go get Zane, he’ll know what to do.”
Lloyd couldn’t come up with anything to say before Cole set off down the hall to get Zane. But if Zane was told that Lloyd might be sick, then he’d make him sleep, and he wouldn’t take no for an answer. He’d find a way to make him fall asleep, too, Zane was the ultimate caretaker.
Lloyd stared after Cole, hands shaking. Why was he shaking? He had no reason to be shaking. And why was he so jittery? Was it the coffee? It had to have been the coffee.
His vision blurred and the room tipped. He was only distantly aware of the ground hitting his shoulder — or was it the other way around? He couldn’t find it in him to care.
Dark spots danced across his vision, smearing out the colors.
He could hear yelling, but it was from what must have been a thousand miles away. Maybe he would just close his eyes for a moment, and then he could go help. Yeah... that would work...
***
Darkness creeped in from what must have been everywhere. Wind blew harshly, too harshly, messing up his hair. Here, Lloyd felt small. He felt like a little kid again, back when he couldn’t do anything to defend himself and the bullies could do whatever they wanted.
The walls were closing in on him, but his body wouldn’t react. Panicked, Lloyd tried to cry for help, for someone, anyone, Kai, father!
But he was frozen in place, and there was a winter chill that didn’t belong. His skin was turning inside out, his head was pounding as his mind was rummaged around in, his body was being split in two, help!
He could hear Morro’s cold laugh echo through his skull.
“You—you’re supposed to be gone...” Lloyd choked out, a kind of mesmerizing terror gripping him that he hadn’t felt since their last encounter.
“You don’t learn, do you? I always get what I want. I may just have to teach you a little lesson to make sure that you don’t try something like that again.” the ghost said, plunging into Lloyd’s more recent memories. It was the utmost invasion of privacy, it was absolute torture, Morro was seeing things that Lloyd didn’t want anyone to see, ever. He was effortlessly learning secret after secret, again.
“The red one is awful annoying,” Morro said, coming back up after sufficiently violating Lloyd’s mind. “Do you think he’ll see it coming when I drown him?”
Lloyd’s heart stopped. “No! No, no, Morro, you can’t! Don’t hurt him, please!”
“Maybe you’re right,” Morro said, and that wasn’t right, that wasn’t right at all, oh god... “how do you think your little friends would feel if I drowned you? Their precious little leader, dead. I think that would just tear them apart, don’t you?”
It was no secret that the team just couldn’t stay together when they’d lost a member. After Zane, for months, it had just been too hard. Lloyd couldn’t make them go through it all again, he shouldn’t have made them go through it the first time, not when he could have defeated the Overlord the first time...
The world around him changed, and Morro’s laugh was carried away by a haunting breeze.
He was back atop that dreadful building, facing off against the Overlord.
All at once, the darkness swallowed him whole. It was suffocating, it was deadly pressure and weightlessness all at once, he was going to die, he was going to fail, Ninjago would fall and it was all his fault!
He couldn’t do it, he wasn’t good enough, he was so sorry. Fire burned hot under his skin, it hurt like hell, but didn’t he deserve it? It was his fault that everyone, everywhere, was going to die.
He wouldn’t be able to save his father. His father was going to fall at the hands of the Overlord, just like Kai, and Cole, and Zane, and Jay, and Nya, and everyone else. His father was going to perish in the Cursed Realm — no, no that wasn’t right. No, no, his father wasn’t cursed, his father was, his father was, no, no, he could still save him, there was still a chance, please...
His heart was going to beat right out of his chest, and for the life of him, he couldn’t slow his breathing.
His body was shaking, almost violently. He couldn’t begin to comprehend why, he just wanted to be left alone, it was all too much, why was it always him?
***
Lloyd snapped up, breathing harshly. His body was coated in sweat, which was as disgusting as it sounded. His breathing was uneven, and — oh, no. He was in the med bay, and there was Zane, Cole, and Kai.
Immediately, Lloyd tried to get up, hoping they’d let him leave. Unfortunately, they quickly stopped him from even trying to stand.
“You’re not going anywhere, bud.” Cole said, gently pushing him back onto the mattress. “You’ve got a fever.”
Lloyd shook his head. “No, no, I’m fine, I promise!”
“Lloyd, what’s going on?” Kai asked, looking at him with such a protective instinct that for a moment, Lloyd forgot that anything was wrong.
“You know you can always confide in us, brother,” Zane said, placing a cold cloth on Lloyd’s forehead. Lloyd stared at his friends, swallowing. He wanted so badly to tell them, but he just… he couldn’t.
“I told you, I’m fine!”
“Bullshit!” Kai yelled, and Lloyd couldn’t help but flinch.
Cole shot Kai a look, but quickly turned his attention back to Lloyd. “We just want to help.”
His friends were the only people in the world who would be even remotely capable of understanding what he was going through, weren’t they? But they all had so much on their plates, they all had so much trauma of their own, who was he to add anything more to that?
“Can I please just have some time?” he finally whispered, playing with the blanket in between his fingers and refusing to meet their eyes.
A beat of silence, he could tell they were doing their unspoken communication thing.
“Whatever you need, brother,” Zane said.
Lloyd wanted to scream. He wanted to scream his throat raw, but all he could do was nod. His friends were there for him, and that was all that really mattered. Maybe one day, he could be okay again.

Lost Son
I just got the dialouge in my head and then this was born.....
- - -
Characters: Virgil, Deceit, Remus, Orange Side, Pink Side, the others are mentioned.
Warnings: Shouting. Arguing. Feelings of Betrayal... idk, if there are anything else then tell me so i can add.
- - -
“Oh what’s this?!” a voice called and Virgil sent a glance to the side to see how the orange clad side stood in the kitchen of the dark side of the mind holding a pan in his hand before he threw it onto the counter and pushed past Virgil as he left the kitchen “The Lost Son Returns! Look at this!” Orange had his arms thrown out to his sides shouting at the room at a whole.
Remus stood slumped against the armchair, head tilted in an unnatural angle as his green eyes bore into Virgil.
Pink sat slumped in the stairs glowering like a pissed of cat.
But it was the expressionless mask Deceit wore, there he sat in the armchair, not even looking at him. That made Virgil swallow and feel the lump growing in his throat. He wasn’t sure what to say, that he had missed them? well... it wasn’t a lie... not really.
“HOW DARE YOU SHOW YOUR FACE HERE AGAIN?!” Orange roared spinning on his heel to point an accusing finger at Virgil who flinched at the volume.
“I...” Virgil took a shaky breath “I missed my family okay.”
“Fam- Family?” Orange started to laugh as he walked over to Pink. “Did you hear? he said family” Orange said with badly suppressed laughter
“and here i thought we were the enemy.” Pink said in a mocking tone glaring harder at Virgil “isn’t that right, Remus?”
Remus only laughed darkly in reply as he rolled off the armchair, to waltz over to Virgil, slumping against him.
“You really think we will forgive you for leaving, and acting as if we don’t exist?”
“I’m sorry...” Virgil said. “I just... I told Thomas... and...”
“And what?!” Orange snapped “You think we will just accept you back with open arms? You betrayed us! You left! You bastard brother! We loved you and you LEFT! FOR THEM!”
“I wanted- I didn’t want to be stuck in the dark anymore!”
  “WHY YOU-!”
  “Enough.”
Everyone jolted at Deceit’s sudden voice, Remus, Orange, Pink and Virgil all turned to look at him. Virgil first now noticed how tired he looked. so different from the way he had looked during the trial.
“What happened to you?” Virgil asked staring at Deceit with wide eyes. Deceit turned his head to look at him, eyes cold and tired, a smile grew on his lips.
“You’re dear Patton is so steadfast in making Thomas and Honest person. You helped him as well. You really didn’t think that would have consequences? I may be his self preservation as well as his deceit. But if he is honest all the time he will be like Remus. He can’t lie for the life of him.”
  “I can lie!” Remus huffed
“You really can not.” Deceit huffed back only making Remus pout in return.
“I can fix this... there gotta be a way I can-”
“Don’t bother.” Deceit said looking at him. “I will be fine.”
Deceit stood up and walked over.
Virgil felt like he should run, but before his fight or flight managed to kick in, Deceit hugged him, face pressed into Virgil’s shoulder.
“I never hated you for leaving, Virgil. Hurt yes, but I know kids will leave the nest sooner or later, your siblings may need longer time to forgive, but i never blamed you, i wasn’t the best back then.”
Virgil felt his eyes burn as tears grew in his eyes and he hunched in Deceit’s hug, clinging burying his face in Deceit’s shoulder as the sobs started.
“I’m sorry... I’m sorry dad.” Deceit held him as he cried, giving a kiss to the crown of his head as he rubbed his back.
When the cries subsided, Virgil pulled back, rubbing at his eyes, smearing eye shadow everywhere, causing Deceit to chuckle as he stroked the tears away and with a snap of his fingers made the mess go away.
“Now go, the others are looking for you.” Virgil looked at him, Deceit had a warm smile on his lips. Virgil nodded and with a sniffle he left the dark side.
“I will visit more.” Virgil said with a weak voice. Deceit smiled a bit more.
Deceit let the smile crumble and with it he crashed to the floor. The others rushed over, pulling their crying parent close.

Allies Ch12
Warning: Minor character death, decapitation, abuse of a minor
“The Golden Peak.” Garmadon says, seeing it on the horizon. “The source of the gold that made the Golden Weapons of Spinjitzu and the place where these very same weapons will become one.” Garmadon says holding two of the four weapons, the other two secure on his hips.
He then turned to his son.
“I want you to remain here on the Garmatron for now.” He told him and Lloyd frowned. “Your fight will come to you, whether I like it or not. I suspect Wu will send his own son after you. Any child of Wu will be powerful so he must be drawn away from the Golden Peak. The Garmatron does have the ability to ascend the mountain but I’d rather not risk it falling in and corrupting the Golden Peak. This fight could still go sideways so I am entrusting you with the Dark Matter the Garmatron carries. Staying on the Garmatron at the base of the mountain serves to satisfy all of those problems.” Garmadon says, checking to make sure that it was fueled and ready to attack if it comes to it.
“Alright.” Lloyd nods, able to accept that.
As long as he was helping, he would be fine.
“Naturally, they’ve been expecting us.” Garmadon says as Wu and his selected soldiers came into view. “Halt!” He called and his army came to a stop a short distance away from Wu.
Garmadon dismounted the Garmatron then, his army stepping aside as he walked towards his brother, his lower arms folded behind his back as he carried the Scythe of Quakes and the Sword of Fire in his upper arms.
“Your reign of terror will end today, Garmadon.” Wu says once Garmadon came to a stop before him.
“Oh, something will end today alright.” Garmadon says lightly unphased by his brother’s golden glare. “You’re outnumbered and overpowered. It would do you and your soldiers well to end your fight here.” He hummed, expression cool.
“Never. We will fight your evil to the very end.” Wu says raising his sword to Garmadon. “You may hold the Golden Weapons now, but not for long.” He promises with a glare.
“So you hope, Wu.” Garmadon says, allowing for the intensity of his determination to show through when he spoke next. “But know that absolutely nothing, not even the First Spinjitzu Master himself returning from the Departed Realm will stop me from achieving my goal.” He says darkly, tightening his grip on the Golden Weapons and Wu sneered.
“Attack!” They yelled simultaneously, swinging their swords at each other, gold clashing against dragonbone.
“Where’s the Green Knight?!” Morro yelled as he used his wind against the charging army- only to grit his teeth once the Stone Soldiers remained unaffected, the Nindroids hunkering down before charging the second he stopped.
“I’m scanning the area!” Zane yelled over the noise of combat, using his ice to freeze as many of them as he could. “There! On the vehicle!” Zane yelled, picking up the same energy readings from the distant figure on the Garmatron, grunting once the Nindroids and Stone Soldiers broke free from his ice.
Fine. He’ll have to double layer it then.
“I’ll clear a path!” Kai yelled then charged ahead, Morro right behind him. “Fire!” He yelled, summoning a huge ball of fire and wacking it ahead with his sword, the force behind it enough to clear a path as the army were forced to move, the one Nindroid that wasn’t fast enough getting thrown back.
“This is our chance!” Morro yelled and used his wind to keep the path clear as they rushed forward.
“There he is- huh?!” Kai says, eyes wide as a red eye looked down at him expectantly from his higher vantage point.
“Kai! The Generals-” Cole cut himself off as he, Zane and Jay caught up to the duo, staring up at the figure there wide eyed.
“Well well. You’re all here.” Lloyd says lightly as they looked at him owlishly.
“What is it? Isn’t he the Green Knight?” Morro asked confused, itching to fight this smug bastard who was clearly not on their side.
“That eyepatch… His eye...” Jay whispered, realising that both matched the Umberian that beat them.
That Umberian was…The son of Emperor Garmadon?! The same blond kid from 6 years ago?! He was the reason behind the Jamanakai Village wipe out they barely survived!
“Your eye…” Zane whispered and Lloyd reached up to rub the eyepatch where his eye hurt as badly as it did on the day of the incident.
“A loss and a lesson learned.” Lloyd says then looked down at them, expression cold. “I’m sure knowing that fills you with just as much amusement the day I lost it, doesn’t it.” He spoke darkly, red eye glowing with his hatred.
Yes, he remembered then, seeing them there vividly.
They had tied him to a stake in the ground, binding his hands above his head, even going as far as to tie his fingers separately to prevent him from using his claws to cut the rope and escaping. Lloyd was terrified as he struggled against the too strong, too tightly bound rope, wanting to go back home, hating that he had left to begin with. Why hadn’t he listened to his father? To his protectors? None of them knew he was here, none of them expected him to come here. They won’t be able to save him...
He flinched once they all began yelling at him, surrounding him as others brought sticks and hay at his feet. He looked down as they gathered it wide eyed. No! They wouldn’t! They wouldn’t try to burn him, would they?! He cried out once a rock hit him hard in his side, tears falling down his cheeks as they began picking up more rocks, throwing it at him and he turned his face away, trying to grasp his ability to transform, to fly away from these people but he was too terrified to think straight.
“What’s going on here?” Lloyd looked up then, hiccuping as four armored figures the Knights of Fulgor walked to the front of the crowd, their eyes widening at the sight of him.
“What are-”
“He’s the son of Garmadon!” One villager yelled, interrupting the Fire Knight and Lloyd knew he wouldn’t get any help from them, seeing their expression change at that news.
“He came to torment the village, just like his father!”
“He stole from our vendors!”
“He has to be punished!”
“We have to end that monster’s bloodline!”
“He injured two men already!”
“He’s already corrupt like him! He’ll be nothing but a murderer too!”
Lloyd yelped once a rock hit his cheek, a sob immediately following.
“... What should we do?” The Master of Earth had asked the others, their eyes filled with nothing but scorn and hatred at the sight of him.
“... Leave him to the villagers.” The Master of Fire spoke up with a sneer then turned away.
“But-”
“Let’s not forget. He’s Garmadon’s seed. Nothing good will come from his existence.” The Master of Earth says, cutting off the Master of Ice.
“Cole’s right Zane. It’s best to get rid of him now than have him growing up into even more trouble. We can barely handle Garmadon himself but to take Garmadon and his son? We might now win a fight like that.” The Master of Lightning says as they retreated to the back of the crowd, watching as they pelted him with stones and words.
Blood ran down the side of Lloyd’s mouth and the side of his head as he sobbed uncontrollably, unable to escape the villagers’ wrath. He looked to where the Knights of Fulgor were, seeing them laugh as they watched him while accepting candy from the same vendor he stole from before mounting their horses to leave. That was the last thing he saw from his right eye before a large rock hit him square in his opened eye, making him see stars as he screamed, wetting his clothes. He saw a villager approach with a torch then as he cried tears and blood. They were going to kill him… Burn him... He released a high sound of distress then- surprising him when he had it immediately be responded to with a furious roar.
Everything was a blur to him then but the villager had dropped the torch out of horror, the others screaming once, they all looked up to see Emperor Garmadon himself and three of his 4 generals ride in quickly on their Floating Cougars, the Emperor jumping off his Cougar before it even got close to the ground. He landed with an echoing thud on his feet, lifting his head- then gasping in horror at the sight of his son bound and injured, the torch that fell next to the pile of hay starting to ignite. He rushed over, stepping on the torch and outing it immediately as he dropped to his knees before his son, his right eye beginning to swell as blood and tears streamed from it.
“My son…” Garmadon choked out in anguish, using his claws to free him from the ropes that bound him, holding the shaking form of his son close as he curled up in his arms, pressing himself closer to the familiar scent of his father, sobbing into his chest. “My son… What have they done to you…” He whispered, closing his eyes tight, tears of fire rolling down his cheeks as Kozu stepped on the chest of the man who intended to burn the prince, two of his swords poised at his neck as he sobbed and apologized.
“Stop right there!” The Master of Ice yelled as they charged forward but Kozu did not stop, had decapitated the man and had held his bloodied swords in place, poised and ready to attack.
While Kozu, Cryptor and Pythor had gone in to fight the Ninja, Garmadon’s fiery tears had not stopped, not in the face of his now unconscious son. No, but his black, bitter rage did grow. Dark, destructive energy billowed from him as he sneered a seething growl escaping his lips. They… Will… Pay ! In that moment, the power given to him and the power he had all along synced and merged, changing him, making him shift into a form he hadn’t known he had access to. The battle between the ninja and his Generals came to a halt in the face of the massive black dragon with purple highlights that held something, someone precious in its front, right paw. Kozu’s eyes widened as he took air, black and purple smoke gathering in his maw as each flap of his massive wings echoed like thunder.
“Retreat!” He called hastily, getting on his Floating Cougar quickly, the other Generals quick to do so as well, knowing that they best move quickly once the Stone General reacted so critically.
“We need to leave. Now.” Cole says as he quickly mounted his horse, turning it around immediately and grabbing Jay as he ran by.
“Wait! What about the people?!” Kai yelled as Zane did the same from his horse, having no time to fetch theirs from where they had wandered farther away.
“There’s nothing we can do in the face of that but avenge them! We need to get far away! And fast!” Cole yelled over the loud rumbling that started up as the energy from the dragon’s mouth built.
“Will we make it?!” Jay asked, looking back as he gripped Cole’s waist tightly.
“We better!” Cole yelled as they pushed their horses as fast as they could go.
Kozu watched with the other Generals from above and behind their Emperor as he destroyed the village and a large perimeter outside of it in one blast, leaving behind nothing but a crater coated in black ash behind. No-one could have escaped that blast at least not without war bred horses that had the stamina to run that quickly for that long. Everyone in that village, man, woman and child perished that day, not even bodies left behind. Kozu had flown behind the dragon form the Emperor took that held wicked horns and spikes as they returned to the castle, this dragon far larger than even his father was, displaying frightening energy. So this was what his father would have been like if he had taken Garmadon’s power for himself. The Emperor had landed in the courtyard of the castle, barely able to hold and immediately began returning to his original form, cupping his arms to hold his son.
“Medic!” Cryptor had called and not even a second later, the castle doctor and her nurses came out to take his son he reluctantly let go of.
Once he had watched them take his son to the infirmary, all eyes turned to Pythor who was looking pale behind his scales. Both Cryptor and Kozu had watched as Garmadon had stalked towards the Serpentine General who was visibly shaking, sputtering out half formed excuses. Garmadon hadn’t addressed them, instead, he had stopped before the General, grabbed his staff and walked away. Cryptor was surprised he was only letting him get off with being demoted if taking his staff is anything to go by. But they soon realised how wrong they were about that once Garmadon used his powers of destruction to destroy Pythor’s staff- if only to gain access to the 4 fang blades inside it.
They all held a look of trepidation as he slotted them all in the statue of the Great Devour in the north corner of the courtyard that sent venom from the statue’s fangs trickling down into the hole that opened up, waking the slumbering serpent. A low hiss sounded as green, acidic mist rose up from the hole. The head of the Great Devour slid out before the rest of its large body followed. It roared then before noticing Garmadon and lowering its head, nuzzling him as Garmadon stroked the top of its head.
“This, will be the last time you defy my orders.” Garmadon finally spoke as Pythor stood there, frozen in fear. “Because of your negligence, my son suffered pain and trauma he should never have… And now… So will you.” He says with a glare as the Great Devourer coiled around him, its head next to the Emperor, waiting for a command.
“Swallow him.” Was all Garmadon says and the Devourer slithered forward, the spines around its head flared open as it came up to Pythor.
“W-wait! No, please!” Pythor begged as he slithered backwards.
He screamed as he tried to slither away but the Great Devourer struck, swallowing him whole.
“Do not leave the castle walls. I will send you back to sleep in a few moments.” Garmadon says coldly as he walked by and the Devourer curled up in a large coil, watching him as he turned into the castle.
He of course, headed directly for the infirmary where a nindroid was scanning his son for any further injuries.
“How is he?” Garmadon asked as he folded his hands behind his back, wringing them with anxiety.
“So far he doesn’t have anything that’s broken. He does have some impact bruising, swelling and cuts that will heal up on their own in a few hours.” The Umbrian says as the Nindroid stepped back but Garmadon sensed a but. “There is one critical damage however…” She says, turning to the fearful Emperor.
“That eye of his. The blunt trauma directly to it has severely damaged his cornea, iris and lens of it. It will heal in a little over a week but…” She says, glancing back at the still unconscious 9 year old prince as the Nindroid returned to add soothing balm to his injuries. “He’ll never see from that eye again.” She whispered and Garmadon was devastated, his heart squeezing for what his son had endured.
It couldn’t be helped that he was a curious child. It was just unfortunate that was the place he ended up… Son…
When Lloyd had regained consciousness, he was in his father’s quarters, a place he hasn’t been in for a long time. He remembered everything and had hated himself for not listening to the warnings he received. But more than that… He glared up at the ceiling as his eye throbbed with pain, his small body burning through their pain relief medication with his fast metabolism.
… He hated the Knights.

Sanctuary - Leonardo X Reader.
Title; Sanctuary.
Type; Leonardo X Reader.
Inspiration; Sanctuary - Joji
Cursing, tears, cheating, meh, usual heartbreaking.
YEAH THIS IS MY FIRST SHORT STORY/IMAGINE OF TMNT AND HERE, SO PLEASE DON’T KILL ME IK IT’S HIDEOUS *cries in a corner.*
• • •
You know, Space Heroes was our thing. We never missed an episode, new or repeated, it was our thing. Until her, she is completely irrelevant to me at this point, it's him.
Go ahead and bark after dark, Fallen star, I'm your one call away.
Leo and I meet on a cold night of winter. It was such a cliché, he saved me. And I saved him from his own darkness.
Motel halls, neon walls, When night falls, I am your escape.
I remember our first date, we meet under the brightest light of a Motel close to the Lair, He said to me how beautiful I looked under the neon lights of a vacancy sign.  I was the comfort he had when his brother drove him insane.
When you lay alone, I ache, Something I wanted to feel.
He always said I was his escape from reality, I remember our first kiss, when he asked me out, the way he smiled when we slept together, everything was just burning my brains, my memories, my heart. He always said I was his soulmate, and I accepted happily every kiss he gave me, showing him that indeed, I was his soulmate, and he was mine.
If you've been waitin' for fallin' in love, Babe, you don't have to wait on me. 'Cause I've been aimin' for Heaven above, But an angel ain't what I need.
I saw them, in the movies, in an empty room, watching the Space Heroes Movie, Which, I bought tickets for him. It turned out April told me, she was working half time at the Movies, and apparently, Leonardo forgot that he was so caught on his affair, he forgot about it.
He forgot about the traits of a ninja; Speed, stealth and precision.
He was so slow when he realized the movie paused, he was so vague on the guess of my presence behind him, and he was so loud when he screamed my name in full surprise, quickly followed by the common "it's not what you think". I couldn't even reply, my body was too weak, I couldn't even look at his eyes, those blue ocean eyes that watched my heart and soul breaking apart.
Not anyone, you're the one, More than fun, you're the sanctuary.
He chased me, his memory, his personality, his voice, just him.
'Cause what you want is what I want, Sincerity.
I was just broken, I only left my apartment for work and groceries and only during the day, when I knew he couldn't leave the Lair. I dodged him, every time he came looking for me, his calls, his texts, everything, I ignored it, I changed my apartments key because he had a copy, and I closed my windows every night.
Souls that dream alone lie awake, I'll give you somethin' so real.
His brother texted me once in a while, asking if I needed something, but they never mentioned him, and I really appreciated that. I tried to lose every contact with him, and for the next months I was successful, and obviously, when I was feeling better enough to hang out with April and Casey at the arcade, he appeared, of course, silently. When we were walking back to my apartment, I said goodbye to April and Casey and entered my house, and went to my room, and for my bad luck, I saw my room's window open.
"Where are you?" I asked the darkness of the sky, I knew I wasn't alone in my room.
"I missed you." His voice was so soft, and so filled with pain that just crushed my poor heart.
"What do you want?" I was holding back the urge to run and hug him, to cry against his plastron as I did before.
"I want you." He said softly, I let out a small chuckle, trying not to cry.
"You want me?" I didn't want to turn back, I didn't want to see his face.
But, when I felled a weak grip in my shoulder, a green hand that turned me around, I closed my eyes, I was refusing to see him, and he knew that. He held me close, I felt my face against his chest, and I started crying. I punched him, but my fists were so weak like butterfly wings. I heard him sob in my neck, and a soft painful moan left my mouth, tears felled furiously to the ground.
"I love you." He whispered in my ear.
"You love me." I slowly answered.
"I do." He answered back.
And with that, I pushed him with all my strength.
"You love me." I was mad.
All the feelings I locked up inside of me were exploding. I felt anger, rage, dissatisfaction, disappointment, saddens, but deep inside me, I still love him.
"If you really loved me as you proclaim so badly, Then why you did it? I thought I was the only one for you!" I was screaming, probably my neighbors could hear me, but at this point, I didn't care. "After all we passed together, you cheated on me with.. with her." I let out a soft cry.
Leonardo just looked at me, he was crying too, I could genuinely see in his eyes the pain and regret.
I fell on my knees, holding my face in my hands, feeling my whole body shaking with sorrow. No one told me it was going to hurt this bad.
He kneeled in front of me, holding me again, and I just felt defeated, I cried and cried until my eyes were red and puffy, and he did too, he talked in my ear, asking for forgiveness, and saying that he would prove me this time everything he feels. He kept saying how stupid he was, and indeed, he was stupid.
I was so tired.
Pull me oh-so-close, 'Cause you never know, Just how long our lives will be
"I love you Y/N." He whispered one last time in my ear.
f you've been waitin' for fallin' in love, Babe, you don't have to wait on me.
"I love you, Leonardo." I softly answered back.
I felted his body relaxing, and he kept crying in my shoulder.
'Cause I've been aimin' for Heaven above. But an angel ain't what I need.
"Thank you." He cried desperately.
Not anyone, you're the one. More than fun, you're the Sanctuary.

aftermaths
I am emotions! About that finale, I’m just. A lot of feelings! It’s really late and I don’t entirely have the words right now but here is...something. Me crying over christmas colored ninjas once again, I guess.
(I really hope I’m not gonna regret posting this at 2am hnsldgkdjfg).
Spoilers for episode 98!
“Okay. Does this look right?”
“It had a, um, I think it had another notch there.”
Kai hmphs, turning the blade over in his hand. He squints at the glinting metal, then shrugs, lowering it back to the anvil.
“You sure you don’t want a dragon or something on the side?”
Lloyd smiles slightly. “Nah, the script’s fine,” he says, shifting where he’s perched on the old wooden table, watching as Kai works.
Kai eyes him, wiping a bead of sweat from his forehead with his elbow. “I know you want a dragon on it.”
Lloyd flushes. “But you’re — you’re already rebuilding me an entire sword, Kai, I don’t wanna make it even more complicated.”
“Ha,” Kai snorts. “Lloyd, I just rebuilt the Golden Weapons. One tiny dragon is a party trick.”
Lloyd rolls his eyes, but his smile is a bit brighter. “Whatever you say.”
Kai flashes him a cocky grin, then returns to hammering the metal, re-shaping the blade. They’re silent for a moment, the only sound the repetitive strike of Kai’s hammer.
“…could you have it breathing fire, maybe?”
Kai shakes his head, grinning. “What kind of dragon would it be if it wasn’t?” He pauses, glancing at Lloyd before continuing. “I can have it biting off an Oni’s head too, if you want. Or your dad’s, either one works.”
Lloyd gives a surprised, bright laugh, eyes flashing with the fire from the forge as he does. Kai watches him, the way he kicks his legs out and swings them. His eyes trace the bandages plastered over nearly every inch of skin, the same darkening bruises Kai knows he himself is sporting. Watches his brother, warm and animated and living.
-his brother, cold and still and lifeless, blood trickling from his brow-
Kai’s hands still over the weapon, tightening around the hammer until his knuckles turn white. He sucks in a breath, exhaling on a shudder.
It’s over. It’s done with, and they all made it out alright. Just like they always do. Lloyd is in front of him and laughing, just as he can hear Cole talking animatedly with Zane outside, and when he closes his eyes again he won’t see-
-Cole, the frightened look on his face as he’s falling-
-the despair in Sensei Wu’s expression, as he tells them there’s nothing to be done-
Kai gives a desperate, wheezing breath, eyes squeezing shut as he tries to swallow back the tide of emotions.
“Kai?”
The laughter is an echo now. Lloyd’s voice is quiet, concerned. Kai doesn’t reply, furiously biting his lip as he squeezes his eyes tighter. There’s a feather-light touch on his arm, Lloyd’s hand warm as he squeezes gently.
“Kai, are you okay?”
He shakes his head, but he doesn’t shake Lloyd off. He takes another breath, sliding a glove off so he can run his hand over Lloyd’s wrist, his index finger finding the steady pulse. Lloyd lets him, adjusting his hand so Kai can feel the strong presence of life better, the two of them simply standing there, not talking, not moving, just breathing, and reminding themselves.
“You were dead.”
Lloyd gives a hissing intake of breath, and Kai feels him stiffen through his hold on his wrist.
“I’m sorry.”
“You were cold.”
Lloyd finally moves, sliding from the table so he can place a hand on Kai’s shoulder, his grip steady and comforting. “But I’m not,” he says, earnestly. “I’m not anymore. I’m here, Kai, and I’m fine.”
Kai looks away briefly, his throat working as he swallows down an endless depth of loss felt twice in one day, only to dispel that very same one.
“You just - you can’t do that to me,” Kai manages, breathing raggedly. Lloyd is quiet for a moment, and Kai can feel the weight of his gaze on him.
“I saw my grandfather.”
Kai brings his head up slowly, blinking back the mist from his eyes as he looks at his brother. Lloyd suddenly looks younger, less sure of himself, almost nervous as he chews at his lip.
Kai turns his words over in his head, then feels a sudden cold swoop in his stomach. “Your grandfa- you mean-“ he swallows tightly. “So you went to. You were…”
Lloyd shakes his head. “I don’t know,” he says. “I think…I think he just wanted to talk to me.”
“Oh,” Kai says, the tight knot in his chest easing a bit. Lloyd remains quiet for a beat, looking as if he’s debating something.
“He offered to take me with him.”
It takes Kai a minute to make sense of Lloyd’s words, quiet as they are. When he does, though-
Kai’s stomach wrenches, bottoming out as a cold wave of nausea replaces it. His breathing stutters, his mouth going bone-dry. He wanted Lloyd to-
“I said no,” Lloyd says. “Um. Obviously.”
“He had no right,” Kai wheezes out, trying to fight back the rush of panic. After everything, everything Lloyd’s gone through for his family — every terrible thing that’s happened to him because of his family’s legacy — his grandfather’s idea of a reward is death?
“It doesn’t really matter,” Lloyd says, quickly. “It’s whatever now, I guess. I can barely remember it anyways.”
“Lloyd, you-“ Kai cuts off, passing a hand over his eyes. The heat of the forge sizzles below him, but all he can feel is that icy cold grip of fear. First Spinjitzu Master or not, Kai can’t — he offered to take his brother away. He would have stolen him from them all, struck Kai down with that horrible loss, if Lloyd hadn’t-
Kai stops, and his eyes raise back to Lloyd. The fear doesn’t ebb, still twisting into tight knots in stomach.
“Did you…” Kai swallows, forcing back the impulse to be sick. He doesn’t know if he wants the answer to this, but he feels like he owes it to Lloyd — to himself — to ask. “Did you want to?”
Lloyd goes still. “Of course not,” he says.
Kai looks down, watching the way Lloyd’s fingers trace nervous circles into the patterning of the table. “…did you consider it?”
Lloyd takes a breath, then exhales, looking up at the ceiling. His jaw clenches and unclenches, and the little circles he’s tracing grow more frantic.
“I didn’t - you weren’t-“ His throat bobs. “You weren’t there,” he says, almost as if begging Kai to understand. “It was different there, it was confusing, it was…”
Lloyd’s voice trails off, thickening into silence. Kai looks down, watching the red glow from the forge, trying to fight back the blurring of his vision.
“Do you really think I’d leave you?” Lloyd finally says quietly, an edge in his voice. Kai shakes his head.
“No, not like that. I just — what if you’d be happier there?"
“What, and miss all this?” Lloyd gives an almost-strained laugh, gesturing to the sword slowly melting on the anvil, left unattended. “Please, like I’d ever be happy knowing what I’d left behind.”
Kai just looks at him, his gaze pained. Something toughens in Lloyd’s expression, his jaw setting stubbornly.
“I wouldn’t leave you,” he says, his voice quiet as steel. “I don’t abandon my family, Kai. I’m not like-“
Lloyd cuts off, inhaling sharply, but Kai can finish the sentence for him.
I’m not like my father. I’m not like my mother.
“I’m not like them,” Lloyd whispers. “I’m not.”
Kai takes a steadying breath, and the cold feels a little further away. He sets a hand on Lloyd’s shoulder, shaking him a bit. “Nah, you’re one of us,” he says. “Just a normal, lame ninja.”
“You guys aren’t lame,” Lloyd says, but there’s an edge of a smile at the corner of his mouth.
“Yeah, well.” Kai’s hand tightens on his shoulder, and the image of Lloyd’s motionless body flashes before his eyes again. “I’m gonna hug you now. Like, real gross sappy hug you.”
“Oka- oof.”
It takes him a second, but Lloyd finally relaxes, his hands gripping the back of Kai’s shirt tightly as he hugs him back. There’s an unsteady hitch in his breathing, a catch in his throat, and Kai feels him press his face tightly against his shoulder.
Kai finally speaks up, his voice thick. “This was the worst day ever.”
“Speak for yourself,” Lloyd snorts wetly, voice muffled. “I’ve still got that one back with the Sons of Garmadon to compete with.”
“Huh. Yeah, that was rough too, I guess.”
It’s silent for a minute, the only sounds the quiet hissing of the flames from behind them.
“…thanks for not dying on us.”
Lloyd gives a laugh that could be a muffled sob, and clutches Kai tighter. “N-no problem.”
They stay like that, braced by the forge, until the cold in Kai’s chest has thawed away, and Lloyd isn’t shaking quite as badly.
Someone laughs from outside, Jay’s voice mingling with Nya’s.
“…you gotta let go of me eventually.”
“What, so you can go get yourself almost killed again? I think not.”
Lloyd sighs. “I’m not the only one who almost died, Kai,” he says. Kai huffs, but he pulls away, wiping at his sore eyes and fiddling with the edge of the anvil. He’s never put the team through anything like this.
That he can...immediately remember, at the time being.
“I-“ Lloyd looks down, grabbing his arm so his fingers fist in the green fabric. “I really am sorry. For - for putting you guys through that. That’s…that’s the last thing I wanted, I swear, I just-“
“Nah, I kinda get it,” Kai says, exhaling. “If my long-deceased god of a grandfather showed up and asked me to take a trip to paradise or whatever with him, I’d probably need a minute or two to think about it too.”
Lloyd gives a quiet huff of laughter. “He’s not even that cool anyways,” he says. “In..all honesty.”
“Well, yeah, I mean, he is kinda a jerk,” Kai says, before quickly praying he isn’t stricken dead on the spot for that. He’s Lloyd’s adoptive brother, maybe that’ll…earn him points, or something. “Saddling you with all, um…”
“My family?” Lloyd says, wryly.
“Uh, yeah,” Kai winces. He straightens, aiming for a lighter tone. “Besides, he’s never even like, remembered your birthday or anything. What kind of grandpa does that?”
“He’s definitely never blown my birthday cake up in my face, so yeah, he’s pretty lame for a family member,” Lloyd grins.
Kai flushes. “That was one time, and you know it was Jay’s fault with the candles-“
“Yeah, yeah, sure.” Lloyd leans back against the table, glancing down at the anvil. “Ah, you don’t have to finish that now, if you want.”
Kai follows his gaze, then cringes, yanking the sword up. “Y-eah, um…nah, I can finish it now, just gonna have to re-heat it.” He sighs, flicking imaginary dirt from the slightly mangled metal as he turns for the flames. “It might take me a while though, so if you wanna-“
“Here.”
Kai looks up, and raises an eyebrow. Lloyd has pulled one of the shop aprons on, and is just tying the ends of his hair back. He shrugs a little awkwardly, hands upturned. “I can help, if you…teach me?”
It’s a hesitant question, almost timid, but Kai is almost surprised to find it genuine.
“You wanna learn this?” He blinks, gesturing to the forge.
Lloyd tugs anxiously at the edge of the apron. “Yeah,” he says. “It’s, um, it’s cool.”
Kai stares at him, then back to the sword in his hands. Cool. He’s never really thought about it like that. Blacksmithing is just something Kai was sort of good at, barely even brought up after he became a ninja. He certainly never expected to have the fate of Ninjago resting on it. But it’s…it’s something almost mindless, something constructive, and maybe…maybe they both need something like that.
“Well, blacksmithing is a family secret, you know,” Kai muses.
“Oh,” Lloyd says, expression quickly shutting down, taking a half a step back.
“Lloyd.”
“Yeah?”
“You’re part of the family, dummy.”
“Oh.” Lloyd blinks rapidly, a small smile growing at the edges of his mouth. Kai rolls his eyes.
“Come on,” he says. “I’ll show you how to make a dragon.”

The Friend
Summary: When Sean is six, he creates an imaginary friend. Jack lingers into adulthood and their friendship isn’t as perfect as the little boy had hoped.
When Sean is six, he spends the night at his friend's house. Max's big brother dared them to stay up all night. As much as he tried, the little boy couldn't stop himself from dozing off before midnight. Max teased him about his failure until it got out of hand. Years later, Sean would look back on it all and conclude that Max was a bad friend. In response to the teasing, he invents an imaginary friend. Jack is kind and forgiving. He doesn't care if Sean is loud and instead joins in with the noise. More importantly, at least to the boy, he never sleeps. He is there for him whenever Sean requires him to be. He has no mind with which to object or act otherwise if he wanted. He is the perfect friend. Jack has more energy than Sean. He can continue to run around the school track while Sean has to call it quits. As children, they laugh and suggest it's because Sean plays too many video games. They know their logic is flawed. Sean runs around with his friends as much as they sit down to play on game consoles. But like all children, Sean grows up. Teenagers aren't meant to have imaginary friends. When he was younger, conversing with Jack was seen as sweet. Now older, he'd begun to leave childish things like invisible buddies behind. However, Jack lingers and Sean notices him on occasions. One such moment was after he plays the PlayStation version of Spider-Man 2 and they design a superhero together. Jack is a ghost, no longer required to serve his purpose. He collects figurative dust in the corner of his best friend's mind. Each time he is brought back, even if he can't express it, he is grateful. It prevents him from completely fading into non-existence. Existing as a faded memory is all he really knows by this point. One day, he'll be able to say barely existing is purely numbing. However, for the moment, he doesn't know better. For now, his 'life' and actions continue to be entirely at Sean's mercy. Soon, Sean is 23 and passing 1000 subscribers on his YouTube channel. Jack is proud of him. He smiles on his own accord. It disappears when he feels the muscles in his cheeks tug themselves upwards. Sean is nowhere to be seen. He hasn't existed without Sean being present before. He's not sure what to do without him or how to find him. Awareness of free will dumps him in an empty room. It is only him, the floorboards, four bare walls and a single door. He needs to know where Sean is. How does he proceed without his creator instructing him? Despite all the energetic activity he was subjected to as a child, he is clumsy as he runs towards the door. He falls on his face in front of Sean's TV. His hands sting from absorbing the impact. Upon laying eyes on his only friend, he realises they are wearing the exact same outfit. Neither of them know how to deal with this development. The two of them eventually progress past 'What the fuck?!' 'Don't ask me!'. Becoming real is the strangest thing he's experienced thus far. If he came into contact with something real like a desk, his body would reacted the same way as Sean's because he couldn't imagine a body clipping through surfaces like a badly designed character model. Now when he sits on a sofa, he actually feels the seat underneath his body. Being alive, being able to feel things for the first time is beyond any expectations he could have had. It's July, summer is underway. If he'll be able to register the sensation now, he wants to have the sun on his exposed skin. Sean laughs when he hears this and says it's a shame they don't live in a place where sunshine is more common. A particularly hot day arrives and Sean brings a tub of Ben and Jerry's ice cream back to the cabin. It's cold and chocolatey, with little chewy bits of brownie. Jack falls in love instantly. He goes out and buys more flavours any time the sky warms his skin. Sean playfully teases him about getting fat if his habit continues. The Jacksepticeye channel becomes theirs, not just Sean's. They both play games and grumble to each other about how slow things take to get uploaded thanks to the cabin's terrible broadband. Anything personal like a Q&A or comment reading video remains purely Sean's territory. Their arrangement works, especially with Jack editing into the night so Sean could sleep. Months pass and the weather cools. Unlike warmth, he hates being unable to have complete control of his body as it is overtaken by tiny shaking movements. Sean tells him he's just shivering. If he puts on another layer of clothing, it won't be so bad. His friend seems happier in general. He's not quite so lonely anymore. Jack is glad to be able to contribute to that in any way. He notices Sean making himself hot chocolate one day in December. He's confused when he is abruptly forbidden from making or tasting the drink himself. A week into February, everything becomes clear. "Hey Jack, happy birthday!" Sean hands him a mug of milky brown liquid. He accepts it hesitantly. "But it's your birthday. I got you a present and everything." "Yeah but you need to have a birthday too. And February 7th the best day to have one, in my opinion. Might be the tiniest bit biased on that though." He grins. "Go on, I've been wanting to see what you think of hot chocolate." Later, after Jack has made a few cups of the drink for himself, he'll realise this first serving was a little milk heavy. However, his obliviousness is beneficial. He drinks it eagerly once it cools a little, his first ever birthday present. Sean promises to get him something better next year, once they're more sure of Jack's likes and dislikes. Jack tells Angus about it. The Australian hunter appeared three months before him, as a result of the Survival Hunter series. With only the other for company, they rapidly develop a close friendship. Angus understands how strange existence is. Together, they discuss nature and watch David Attenborough or compete against each other in multiplayer mode of various games. In time, he notices something wrong. At first, in the summer of 2014, Angus begins to sleep in longer. It isn't exactly alarming but it is certainly a change in behaviour. By the time they are discussing hibernation, the wildlife expert is getting forgetful. By the end of 2015, he's constantly in his room, resting. Angus is a shadow, quite literally a faded memory, and Jack knows exactly who's to blame for his friend's condition. He returns to Sean multiple times, forever attempting to persuade him to bring the Survival Hunter series back to the channel. Time after time, Sean argues there isn't anywhere he can take the series. If he thought harder, maybe their creator would find a way to stop it all. He's been so accommodating before that Jack struggles to understand why Sean is so unwilling to cooperate. The first crack shows. When Sean tells him about breaking up with his girlfriend, he provides any support his friend needs from him. Months later, Sean is telling Jack about a Danish artist he's befriended. He gushes about how much he likes her art and how easy it is to talk to her. One day, Jack teases him about having a crush on Signe. With a short, self conscious laugh, Sean admits they were actually dating now and that he hoped to invite her to Ireland soon. Jack ruffles his hair, much to Sean's chagrin. Dude's in love again. Good on him. When she does eventually set foot in their home country, Jack keeps away. She may be a twin but Sean definitely isn't. If she saw a duplicate of her boyfriend, there would be a lot of explaining to do. Seeing as she was solely here to spend time with him, it would be best if they avoided having to say "Well, it's a long story...". Besides, Jack had something that required his own attention. He kept spotting Sean lurking around Jack and Angus' home. Except, he could have sworn their creator had a murderous glint in his eye. His appearance wasn't consistent either. Some occasions, his eyes would be dark or he'd have blood visible on his person. Other times, the intruder simply gave the impression of being unhinged. The problem was that Jack couldn't get a good look at the stalker. The guy would always be in the corner of his eye or disappear as soon as the two made eye contact. Jack could almost say the evil Sean glitched out of reality. He questions if this is a new 'ego' as they'd come to call the two Sean lookalikes. Waking up with brown hair and making dinner with the top being green was a little disorientating. He didn't even realise his hair had changed until he went to the bathroom and shocked himself. Yes, he knew Sean was dyeing his hair for charity in response to Mark doing so. He'd even received a photo from the new grass top himself about the change. What he didn't know was that he'd change appearance too. He checks on Angus. No, his hair was still the natural brown. Sean later gives him forewarning before making an appointment at a tattoo parlour. Despite this, Jack does a double take when the Bold Hunter's Mark appears on his right arm. When the summer of 2016 begins, Sean brings up the superhero they'd designed in 2004. After filming with Ninja Sex Party, he's got a red suit and a lot of ideas. The night of July 10th, a younger version of Sean with his current hairstyle stood at his door. The teenager introduces himself as Jackieboy Man, or Jackie for short. Jackie is the breath of fresh air Jack didn't realise he needed. The 16 year old boy is brimming with energy, enough to match his own. He doesn't seem to have actual superpowers but the older ego assures him that's okay. He introduces him to Batman, one of the most famous non-powered heros. More importantly, Jackie is someone to talk to when Angus is busy spending the majority of the day resting. Within days, they are firm friends. Despite his age and having only just been granted autonomy, Jackie proves his eagerness to play the hero he'd been designed to be. He's also very adept with technology. It isn't long before he's made some improvements to the house. Jack catches him trying to access the dark web at one point. The boy shrugs it off as making the most of his skills. After all, he'd been doing just that in Welcome To The Game. Jack remains skeptical. A month after Jackie appears, Sean messes around with a magic kit on camera. Shortly after the video is uploaded, a man wearing a cape and a cat mask finds himself before the three other egos. His cynicism makes Jack question whether they'll get along. He does like the mask though. Jack stares at Sean when he admits the magician was an unintentional character. He swears he will go prematurely bald from wanting to yank his hair out. Sure, Jack could understand his own beginnings as a separate entity. How could Sean have known that by calling himself Jack, his childhood imaginary friend of the same name would be given life? The same went for Angus. Their creator was entirely oblivious to the power a bad Australian accent and a few hundred subscribers held. By now, Sean should have learned his lesson. The new guy believes his name is Jack the Magnificent. It won't do. Jack wouldn't mind there being another Jack if it wasn't for the fact it would get confusing quick. Not to mention there would be two Jacks and a Jackie. Yes, it would be extremely confusing. Jack watches the magician's introductory video again. Fifty Amazing Magic Tricks from Marvin's Magic. Marvin. Marvin the Magician. Marvin the Magnificent. Marvin's face lights up when Jack suggests the name. It's almost like he's had an epiphany. Marvin's right, the name does fit him. Jack is glad he could help. The boost in Marvin's self confidence motivates him to practise his magic. He was able to conjure fire in the video. Logic dictates he can do it again. Jack and Jackie are ready to assist Marvin in whatever way they can with exploring the extent of his magical abilities. Within two weeks of Marvin's arrival, he is dragging a bloodied Jackie into the house. With no medical knowledge at his disposal apart from basic first aid, the incident ends with the youngest housemate being admitted to hospital. He doesn't wish for this to become a common occurrence but they should be better prepared. Perhaps having a doctor as back-up wouldn't be a bad idea. To his relief, Sean is all for it. He purchases a copy of Operation and a doctor outfit. It's a mystery why Dr Schneeplestein is given an awful German accent. Nevertheless, Jack his excited to welcome the doctor. He's unsure about the backstory. The guy's brought into the world with a disloyal wife who is blackmailing him. He knows they have children but can't remember their names or their ages. The doctor doesn't have a first name either. He was simply 'Dr Schneeplestein' in the Operation video. Like he did with Marvin, Jack attempts to find a name that suits the new ego. He goes through baby name websites, specifically ones featuring German names, with the doctor. They eventually bump into Heinrich which prompts a minute of deep thought before the nameless ego announces Henrik is the right name. Several days later, Jack learns of Elias, Heidi and Alina. In mid-October, the morning after Ninja Sex Party upload their music video for 'Cool Patrol', Jackie challenges him to an arm wrestle. He wins several matches. The young superhero giggles as he admits he's going easy on Jack. The two of them spend the following days exploring Jackie's new powers. Marvin shows up, either to watch or practise a defensive spell, while Henrik stood by. They soon establish that, along with technological expertise, Jackie has super strength, flight and lasers at his disposal. By far, his favourite power is the ability to fly. Jack comes out from a recording session towards the end of October to be ambushed by Marvin. He's questioned on whether he'd like a balloon. The minute he accepts, Marvin fetches the 'balloon'. When Henrik spots Jackie being transported around the room, floating while attached to a piece of string, he mutters something in German and retires to his area with coffee. As the month draws to a close, Sean offers him the opportunity to carve the pumpkin this year. He gladly accepts, only later remembering the weird stuff happening to the footage of several videos. He brings it up with his friend. Sean insists nothing will happen. Yes, he's building up to Antisepticeye making his debut appearance but that will be the second video of the day. Jack is skeptical but lets it slide. While their creator could be wildly irresponsible with his ideas at times, Jack trusts him not to deliberately put any of them in harm's way. He is even promised the dangerous upcoming character wouldn't be a threat between videos. During the carving, his nose begins leaking blood so he jokes about how big of a coincidence it was. Off screen he allows himself to be freaked out by the nosebleed. The actual bleeding nose isn't the issue. He's had nosebleeds before, namely when Jackie's aim was off during training. It's the timing that scares him. It's Halloween, with Antisepticeye due to show up today. This is too much of a coincidence. Despite not wanting to, he decides the show must go on. He says some uncharacteristically mean things to Gerald. When he argues with Sean, at least there's some reason to let insults slip. Gerald hasn't done anything wrong. It fails to matter when he is forced to lose control his body. Regardless of how much he'd love to resist, the knife slices through skin. He wakes up in a hospital bed. Dr Schneeplestein explains everything, advising Jack doesn't watch the video himself. He gets incredibly caught up in sudden, painful revelations as soon as he's left to his thoughts. Sean told him Antisepticeye wouldn't target the pumpkin video. Sean had lied. Apparently, his creator could deceive him without hesitation. Worst of all, he now knew how his 'friend' saw him. Expendable; Jack was expendable. He can't believe he'd trusted Sean like that. What was he thinking? Sean had gone against him in the past, namely ignoring his suggestions to improve the lives of the egos. Did he for one second consider how terrifying being suddenly robbed of your autonomy could be? Or suffering through being murdered by your own hand? Sure, the anaesthetic helped dull it to an ache. That didn't change the fact Jack would have a scar as a daily reminder of Sean's willingness to sacrifice the one he'd designed to be everything he wanted in a friend. If his life wasn't as important as Sean's, the difference should be so small it was inconsequential. By the time he is able to be discharged, he had forgiven Sean. Of course he was expendable. He was just made up like the others. No harm could come to Sean, he was too important to lose. None of them would exist without their creator. In a way, he should be thankful for being used as bait. At least he could still be relevant, unlike Angus. He'd been in Angus' position for years. Jack never wanted to feel like that again, as if he was nothing. He's never resented his basic character traits more. He hates that a little boy could force his best friend to always forgive him. He wouldn't be surprised if Sean committed genocide and Jack let it slide. Never sleepy, unable to stay angry at him forever, always willing to provide emotional support should he require it. Well, at least free will had allowed him to bend those rules at times. The truth was that Sean wasn't perfect and Jack didn't want to treat him as such. It didn't matter. The forgiveness comes too late to save Jackie. Sean's visit to the infirmary sparks another row. Frustrated with the disagreements, Jackie bursts into the room halfway through, screaming at them to stop. As soon as he had thundered off, both faces of the Jacksepticeye channel allowed themselves to resolve the latest issue calmly. "What are we doing? This constant arguing is getting us nowhere." "Tell me about it." Jack grumbled back. "Want to call a truce?" "I'm still furious you used me as bait. I don't know how you could have consciously done that." "I know. I'm not sure what I was thinking. Just wanted to give the subscribers something fun for Halloween, I guess. I-" "A community event where they post art would have been more fun." He interrupts. "Hey, I could do that next year." Sean's smile is cautious. "I promise I won't pull something like that again." His friend extends a fist with only his smallest finger out. He's got to be kidding. "What are you, five?" "Come on, humour me. Please?" Jack is reluctant but does it anyway. "You're a fucking idiot." "Don't we know it." Only one laughs. "This doesn't mean I'm going to let it slide just yet." He fidgets. Despite the stuff Schneeplestein had given him, the ghost of Jack's neck wound bothered him still. "Tell me about Antisepticeye. You've made a video with him so he'll be out there now. I should at least know what to look out for." Jack's biggest regret after that night isn't repeatedly allowing himself to forgive Sean. Instead, he becomes remorseful for not getting his friend to follow the young superhero. By the time either of them realise Jackie was yet to return, it was too late. Jack postpones his German studies to focus on bringing the youngest member of the household back to them. His efforts bear no fruit, even months later. The joint birthday celebrations go far better than either of them could have hoped. There are no ill feelings between the two of them on that day. The only fight they have is when Jack silences Sean's complaints of getting older by 'accidentally' smearing frosting on his face. Signe takes a photo of them, crumbs and frost littering their neon green hair. He keeps the photograph with the other reminders the two of them did have great times amongst the disagreements and resentment. He plays the first chapter of Bendy and the Ink Machine while Sean is away at PAX East and the other egos are sleeping. Sean's been hyped for this game for a while, Cuphead too, so Jack is leaving them for him to record. That said, there's no reason why he can't play it in his spare time. Later that month, he absentmindedly watches Sean's playthrough of it. "'The creator lied to us.' Well boohoo, people lie all the time. It's part of life." Jack had found that message on the wall intriguing when he'd played it. As much as he tried not to let Sean's comment get to him, it lingered. At least this time, he could exit the video and never return to it. The week after Angus' birthday, Chase Brody arrives with a name from the get-go. Unfortunately, he also has a wife who's divorcing him and a suicide attempt under his belt before meeting any of his fellow egos. Sean's done some stupid shit before but portraying a suicide? Really? Jack knows for a fact that his friend isn't one to see poor mental health and suicide as something to joke about. Nevertheless, Chase grows on him. Once you got past all the self deprecation and depression, he proved to be a cool guy who loved his two children. Unfortunately, the bullet Henrik has to extract from Chase's brain ruins his ability to perform complex actions with his left arm. "I'm not changing his character." Sean states during a gaming session. "Okay, but-" "Jack, I'm not doing it. This isn't me being stubborn and unwilling to compromise. People split up all the time and sometimes children are involved. A bunch of my subscribers will be able to relate to the situation, either as the parent or the child." "He shot himself in the head." "Unfortunately, that's something people in Chase's headspace consider doing." There's something in the way Sean speaks that worries Jack. "Some of them out there need proof things can change. I could show that." "You're not depressed." He's really unsure on how to have this conversation. "Well, no, but neither are you." They don't go further and Jack's guilt grows. He is sure he's missing something but he can't put his finger on it. They instead discuss topics that were more pleasant. Any miniscule progress Chase makes with his arm, Jack cheers him on. At least he understands where the issues lay with the latest ego. He wishes he was as in tune with Sean. He had been once. Now they were both watching their tongues in case either of them accidentally triggered a disagreement. Home wasn't so bad. He and Marvin still dedicated hours to locating Jackie but, as ever, no breakthroughs were made. However, progress was being made in other places. May brought a second cat into the household. The white feline was usually found lazing around with Jack and Chase or hanging out with Marvin's Abyssinian, Bastet. Jack feels so dumb when he finally learns why he can never find Marvin when the white cat is present. He couldn't be prouder of how far the magician's abilities had developed since August. He had returned to learning German at night. When reading German texts, occasional words begin to become familiar. Every now and again, he doesn't have to check what a word, or even rarer a phrase, means. It takes him a while to remember how accents change the sound of letters. Practising his speech alone, he is convinced his pronunciation is off by miles. Nevertheless, the delight on Henrik's face when he haphazardly makes his way through imperfect sentences proves it is undoubtedly worth it. Henrik coaches him on his native tongue while Jack continued to correct the doctor's English grammar. Henrik's ability to speak French is utilised after Sean plays a game called Passpartout. Jacques Septique often enclosed himself in his room, painting whatever he felt like that day. Once he became more comfortable around the five others living under the same roof, he offered to paint their doors. Soon, the house was a little more colourful. Jack promises himself he won't get too close to the French artist. He'll be kind and welcoming to him, of course he will, but he knows Jacques wasn't made last. He's a fan creation. All you needed to do was visit Angus to see what happened to that kind of ego. He'd been wary of Marvin when he'd first appeared. Unintentional with no name? He couldn't be more fan made. Jack had been an idiot and allowed himself to become close friends with the magician. It had taken Angus little over a year to start going downhill. That meant that by Christmas, Marvin would show signs too. There was the hope that the near 16 million subscribers were more able to preserve Marvin than the hundreds or thousands who saw Angus' ten videos. However, it was just hope. On the last day of July, Jack has a bad morning. He trips on something, spilling scalding coffee all over himself and breaking one of his favourite mugs in the process. After that, he records a video, only for him to notice none of the footage was recording. Frustrated, he calls Sean to see if he's free. His best friend almost succeeds in cheering him up with his jokes and sympathy. Jack is on the brink of feeling better when Sean ruins it all. "I'm burnt out, man." Sean admits. "YouTube needs to sort itself out." "You're burned out?" Jack scoffed. "Sure, how long have you been feeling like that?" "Oh don't give me that. This isn't a contest to see who's more tired. Besides, you don't get tired." He knows he has the power to avoid this argument before it truly begins. But years of Sean not listening have resulted in little patience concerning these topics. His mind isn't able to stop his mouth in time. "No, you don't give me that, Sean. For three years, I've watched one of my closest friends deteriorate into nothing. We could save Angus but you refuse to help me. Plus you don't let me upload any of the videos anymore." "I... I never have." "I'm not finished." He continues. "You need to stop playing God because you clearly suck at it. If we could find a game with wildlife in an open world for Angus, we could bring him back to his original condition. I'm not saying we go back to Far Cry, especially with the 5th instalment coming next year. But can you finally co-operate with me so we can save him? It would be one less mess of yours for me to fix. Not to mention it's practically 9 months since Jackie disappeared. We both know what happened to him. Anti is your creation. I don't care if he has as much free will as the rest of us. You could think of something, shit I'll take anything at this point, to keep him at bay. I'm sick of having to be the one who everyone relies on. That should be your job. You can't create us and then leave us to deal with suddenly existing by ourselves. If you want to keep acting like this, at least let me sleep. Even just once. Everyone can just escape all the problems you mindlessly burden them with for a few hours. Not me, I have to stay up and wait for the next big disaster you throw at us. Joke all you want about never needing sleep. I won't be laughing." Sean looks at him like he's insane. "Sleep? You're... kidding right? Just lie down and close your eyes. It's not rocket science." "I can't! I physically can't fall asleep because that's how you made me." "I was six!" "Yeah, and now you're 27. You have the power to help us but instead, you just create more of us. Stop being so irresponsible." The fight escalates. Jack is a broken record, repeating many of the points he's made over the years that still remain issues. If that isn't a line of argument in itself, he doesn't know what is. He also insists Marvin's name should be made canon already. After all, it was nearing a full year since the magician's first appearance. The spat ends with Jack forcing himself to leave the situation. "You want to sleep, I'll let you sleep." The words sound more malicious than they should. "Bring back Jackie. He's been missing for months. Do something!" At home, he marathons Harry Potter with Marvin and Chase for a few hours. It doesn't take his mind off the argument with Sean completely. If he knew they wouldn't get the chance to reconcile for two years, he would have apologised sooner. Unbeknownst to him, things were already being set in motion. Just three days later, he is overcome with queasiness as he introduces the latest episode of Bio Inc Redemption. He doesn't understand what's happening. One thing he does know is that nothing about this is good. Excusing himself, he stumbles carefully to Henrik's section of the building. "Hen-" He gags, hand flying to his mouth again. "Henrik, I need help. Something's wrong."

Train Heist
A request by @floralianspiderboynova
Nova had been called by Leonidas, he didn't know why but it seemed important. When he entered the room where they were supposed to meet, his brothers and sisters were already there, staring at him in silence with a bit of compassion in their eyes.
"Nova, please seat down" Leonidas said.
Nova sat next to Chelle, Leonidas cleared his throat and took some papier sheets out of a drawer.
"So as you may know, House Illia is renown for it's glory and horse riding skills. It has many allies but also many ennemies. House Dyr is one of them."
They all shook their head, Emile raised his hand.
"Yes brother ?
- Why are we talking about House Dyr ? You said it was something important.
- Well... A member of House Illia has been kidnapped by House Dyr."
Emile let out a huge gasp, everyone else remained silent. Nova started getting a bit anxious, what if Elise had been kidnapped ? No, it seemed impossible.
"As the only one with a permit to use armors and weapons, we will be in charge of saving the victim and return them to House Illia with all their belongings. The name of the victim is Elise."
Nova felt his own world crack, thé worst thing he could imagine at the moment had happened. He stood up full of fright and will to save her.
"Leonidas ! Is this true ? We must do something !
- It is true brother, and we will do our best.
- We need to do more than our best ! I won't let them hurt her ! I won't !"
Chelle smiled.
"Lovey dovey I see !"
Valyx let out a sigh.
"It isn't time for jokes Chelle..."
Phares raised his hand.
"Leonidas, what is your plan ?
- Well... It seems we will have to hoard House Dyr's train. One of their leaders, Sir Harle, is our target. We won't kill him, but we might have to teach him a few hard things. Any questions ?"
Emile coughed then started yelling.
"Are you insane ?! Hoarding a train ?! Jupiter and I can't do that ! And you can't either ! It's hopeless !"
There was a blank, Nova was staring silently at the floor. Phares sighed.
"It is a bit insane indeed. It truly seems very hard. Our mounts may be fast but we can't hoard a train, which is probably full of guards, just like that... What do you think."
Emile was clearly not satisfied, Chelle and Valyx seemed unsure, Phares was still perplex. Nova stood up.
"I will do anything it takes to save her, even if I die in the process. If that happens then I'll take that Harle guy with me."
Leonidas smiled, suddenly everyone seemed to agree. If even the usually calm and chill Nova was determined to hoard that train then they were all going with him.
Chelle raised her hand.
"I have an idea ! Let's go in Samurai and Ninja armors !
- Why ?
- Aesthetic !"
----------------------------------------
Clouds of steam were coming from the pit of hell that was the trains chimney. This roaring and whistling monster was running on it's rails, unaware of what was to come. Inside the train were at least fifty armed men and in the most prestigious wagon were Sir Harle of house Dyr and Elise of house Illia. She was wearing her usual attire but her hands were chained and her face full of fear. At her side, Harle was sipping some wine, he was wearing black pants, boots and a white shirt under a purple shaded jacket with house Dyr's symbol engraved in the fabric. He was proud of himself, he had accomplished his mission.
Hidden in the dust made by Thor, Valyx's steed. The Alberian siblings were galoping wild, making a summary of their plan one last time.
"Okay everyone ! Leonidas shouted, his red and white samurai armor bringing out his leadership, Tell me your role !
- I will be following you Leo, Phares said, he had a light sky blue armor, he looked more like a ninja.
- I will also be part of the brawl, yelled Valyx in an armor similar to Leonidas's.
- I will be a distraction and the main pillar of our plan, Chelle answered while checking her pastel pink flower patterned kimono.
- I will go straight for the pilot ! Right Jupiter ? Emile said full of excitation. He was proud of his green samurai armor."
Nova didn't say anything, he eyes showed his true plan more than his voice would have : he was going to make a rampage.
"Well ? Charge ! Leonidas shouted"
They all scattered, galloping full speed to their target. Valyx, Phares and Emile were going to the front while Nova and Chelle were going for the back of the train.
Nova hopped off Mercury's back and kicked the back door open. Chelle leaned over.
"Arigato Gozaimasu" she said with a really bad accent. Nova chuckled a bit knowing his sister was trying to cheer him up.
Nova climbed on the train's roof. Chelle went inside and started to distract the guards.
Emile hopped off Jupiter with a bit of trouble, he stood there, breathing heavily for a moment while looking at the confused pilots before knocking them out.
Phares hopped on with Emile, Emile didn't knew how to control a train however Phares did, Phares knew a bit of everything after all. He was there to make sure they don't die stupidly.
Nova crawled to the first class wagon. Luckily for him the windows were open. He entered took out his daggers and threw one of them in a guard's chest, the two others engaged him. He sliced them to pieces, injuring them but not killing them, he hated to kill. Seeing them roll on the floor groaning in pain was enough.
He continued his blood thirst to a red door, he could hear a man talking with a very pretentious tone. He kicked the door open. Harle stood up, with a vile grin on his face. Elise stared at Nova, he was covered in red, and his eyes were burning with rage. He was terrifying.
"So you came foolish boy ? Harle said while chuckling a bit, Are you upset ?"
Nova took out his rapier, Elise had never seen him using it as a weapon. The rapier contrasted with the outfit, his hands were shaky. Harle let out a sigh.
"Well if this is what you want... He said while clutching his sword, let's fight !"
Nova jumped at him, barely giving him time to dodge, the rapier clashed against the sword. Harle was stunned and went on defensive. Nova repeatedly hit his blade on Harle's before, slashing at Harle's right leg, cutting the fabric and the skin underneath it. He let out a little squeak, like a wounded rat. He went at Nova, trying to bash at him, Nova dodged painlessly. Exhausted, Harle stopped for a second, only to be kicked in the stomach. Breathing heavily, Harle raised his weapon for a lethal blow. He had strenght, but Nova had speed. He slashed Harle's left arm, leaving a deep cut. Harle let go of his sword to clutch his wounded arm. He had enough. Flowing with rage, he managed to catch a glimpse of Nova's move, caught the rapier's blade and kicked in Nova's knee before Head butting him. Nova was stunned, but still standing.
Elise watched the two men in complete silence and horror, they were like feral beasts. Injuring themselves badly. She couldn't do anything, at least it seemed.
After a few more hits Nova grabbed Harle's neck, they were both too tired to continue. Nova's eyes had never seemed that wild. Harle laughed.
"Go on... Kill me... And bare the burden of my death forever...
- Nova, that's enough."
Chelle had entered the room. Nova released Harle, he fell on the floor, holding his neck, breathing with difficulty.
Nova looked at Elise, the anger in his eyes had turned to sadness and what seemed like shame.
"I'm sorry you had to see this..."
Elise smiled a bit. Chelle freed her. She walked up to Nova and hugged him ad hard as she could. He let out a sigh if relief.
"I'm glad to see you are safe."

LET’S DO THIS
1. What’s your favorite candle scent?
Honestly? I’m a basic bitch xD I love vanilla scented anything. Wooden wicks are the BEST. I want to find a candle that smells like fresh cut grass and a candle that smells like lumber. Those two scents, especially together, remind me of my grandpa who worked in a lumber yard and repaired lawn mowers. I treasure those memories so much omg.
2. What female celebrity do you wish was your sister?
Does Amethyst count? I actually don’t know xD I honestly can’t even think of any celebrities that I like??? I’ll say Jenna Marbles!
3. What male celebrity do you wish was your brother?
Again, I’m not really someone who goes nuts over celebrities, heh. I don’t know how to answer this D:
4. How old do you think you’ll be when you get married?
I mean, I’m 22 now and my fingers are crossed that it will happen soonish. The boyfriend lives in California and I think it might make things easier if we get married? Then he can come here!
5. Do you know a hoarder?
I don’t think so??? I mean I could be wrong.
6. Can you do a split?
I have tried for YEARS and I CANNOT DO IT ASLAJBODUBFODSUFNODSUBFLJDBFUBEF I FUCKING WISH I COULD
7. How old were you when you learned how to ride a bike?
Fuck if I know... Damn... I remember learning when I was... I think I was... 4? Maybe? I was super young.
8. How many oceans have you swam in?
I’ve only seen one ocean, the Pacific Ocean. I don’t know if I’ve swam in it, though. I know I’ve touched it and waded in it a little, but I don’t know if I’ve actually gone swimming...
9. How many countries have you been to?
2! Just Canada and the US. I’ve always wanted to go to England and Indonesia, though! I love Harry Potter, I always have (fucking fight me) and I decided when I was little that England was a must for me, that I had to go see Hogwarts. And Indonesia, my inner volcanologist NEEDS to go! That’s where my favourite volcano, Krakatoa, is located.
10. Is anyone in your family in the army?
I hope not! I don’t think so. Or... Maybe? I think my cousin Austin is. I don’t know. I don’t remember the last time I saw him. We don’t really talk about him? My boyfriends dad was, though. That’s all I know.
11. What would you name your daughter if you had one?
OO OO OO!!!! So, my boyfriend and I have discussed this! I have a set of dog tags that I always wear that have our names and our kids names on them! We want two girls who will be named Raven Zaidee Trujillo and Dexter Rosie Trujillo. Dexter’s middle name was originally going to be Bonnuit (French for good night) but one of his best friends was sadly murdered earlier this year and he wanted to honor her memory.
12. What would you name your son if you had one?
ANOTHER QUESTION I AM EXCITED TO ANSWER!!!!! Our little boys name is going to be Blade Wayne Trujillo!!! I’ve always had a thing for the name Blade and Wayne was his dads middle name.
13. What’s the worst grade you got on a test?
Ffffffff I can’t even remember what I did yesterday... Um, I think it was a flat out 0 because I didn’t even do the test. It was a physics test. I was scared of the student aid lady at school so I never switched out of physics and I literally used that block to sleep and play on my phone. I never even showed up to write the exam.
14. What was your favorite TV show when you were a child?
Sailor Moon!!! I fucking LOVED that show!!!! I also loved Little Bear :D When I was 12, though, I was OBSESSED with this show called Disasters of the Century. It was a documentary style tv show about natural disasters and plane and train crashes and it was SO COOL. I LOVED IT SO MUCH. I used to wake up extra early before school just to watch!!
15. What did you dress up as on Halloween when you were eight?
Ummm…. I think I was a ninja? I remember I wore my karate gi out one year. I lived in Alberta at the time so there was like 2 or 3 feet of snow on the ground so I had to wear a snowsuit under my costume which was a HUGE disappointment because I was turned into a marshmallow rather than a ninja. Either that or I was Harry Potter. It was great! People always asked me though if I would rather be Hermione because I was a girl and my parents essentially told them to fuck off because I was HARRY FUCKING POTTER.
16. Have you read any of the Harry Potter, Hunger Games or Twilight series?
YES. My apartment is almost entirely Harry Potter. I have an Expecto Patronum tattoo and my ratty memorial tattoo on my leg is also Harry Potter. I am a diehard fan until the end. Fucking fight me. I also read and own the Hunger Games trilogy. Such good books omg. I was in the Amazing Book Race club in school and one year we had to read The Hunger Games and we even did a book trailer for it! I still have it! We showed my boyfriend when he came out in April xD The books are MUCH better than the movies.
17. Would you rather have an American accent or a British accent?
British! Does my Harry Potter loving ass need to say more?
18. Did your mother go to college?
I don’t think so? I’m not sure. I don’t know if anyone in my family has.
19. Are your grandparents still married?
Kind of? Not really. My Papa passed away from lung cancer in 2010.
20. Have you ever taken karate lessons?
Yes xD I started when I was 5 and I stopped when I was 13 I think? I got injured in a biking accident and had to leave. I was going to go back but as I was getting ready to, I got a really bad knee injury and I just haven’t been back. I really want to go back, though! It was fun and I don’t get nearly enough exercise.
21. Do you know who Kermit the frog is?
I sure as fuck hope I do!
22. What’s the first amusement park you’ve been to?
I think it was Playland, my parents would have taken me when I Was super young. But the first amusement park I remember going to is Callaway Park in Alberta. I loved that place! I remember throwing a temper tantrum because my dad told the lady was 6 when I was actually 8 and I LOST MY MIND.
23. What language, besides your native language, would you like to be fluent in?
Any language! I speak French but I would love to learn Michif which is the native language of Metis people as I am Metis c:
24. Do you spell the color as grey or gray?
I think I alternate, actually xD
25. Is your father bald?
Yes, he is!
26. Do you know triplets?
I was about to say no, but I think I met triplet babies once who I may or may not be distantly related to? I’m not actually sure anymore.
27. Do you prefer Titanic or The Notebook?
I’ve never actually seen either! I feel like the Titanic would be a no go for me, though, because I have issues with big boats and the fact that it’s real fucks me up and also James Cameron almost killed his cast by actually making them sit in ice cold water for the sake of hard nipples and realism????
28. Have you ever had Indian food?
I have had very badly made butter chicken once. It was so bad, WAY too much curry. And I think my boyfriend and I once ordered from an Indian restaurant. I ordered from the kids menu because that was the only place where there was non-spicy options xD
29. What’s the name of your favorite restaurant?
Umm... Hmm... White Spot? Maybe... But I also enjoy El Grullesays Grill... I slaughtered that name ;_; It’s a Mexican restaurant in California that serves meaty fries! God I miss meaty fries... They’re like nacho fries! They have mozzarella cheese, sour cream, green onions, and shredded steak :3
30. Have you ever been to Olive Garden?
I actually don’t know. I think maybe? But I was too young to remember it. I think I’ve gotten leftovers, though, from when my grandma went.
31. Do you belong to any warehouse stores (Costco, BJ’s, etc.)?
I’m too broke for that shit ._____.
32. What would your parents have named you if you were the opposite gender?
Pfft beats the fuck outta me. We never talked about that.
33. If you have a nickname, what is it?
Bug!
34. Who’s your favorite person in the world?
Honestly? My boyfriend xD He is one of the very few people in this world who doesn’t tolerate me because he loves and embraces all of my weirdness xD Him and G are my favourite peeps.
35. Would you rather live in a rural area or in the suburbs?
I actually can never remember which is which and I mean, I’m not picky. As long as people leave me alone and I’m in a safe area, I’m happy xD
36. Can you whistle?
Yes! Can you hear me? I’m doing it!
37. Do you sleep with a nightlight?
I do not. I used to want to when I was little. I have one in my bathroom, though.
38. Do you eat breakfast every morning?
Pfft. No. I’m not a breakfast person. I work nights so I get home at 7 in the morning so if I eat before I go to bed, no joke, I will just make a box of macaroni.
39. Do you take any pills or medication daily?
I do! I take medication for my ADHD so that I don’t eat everything in my apartment and I can function somewhat normally.
40. What medical conditions do you have?
I am ADHD, I struggle with depression (it’s not nearly as bad as it use to be luckily), anxiety, I suspect BPD. I have a few joint injuries that will never really properly heal but other than that, nothing.
41. How many times have you been to the hospital?
Hehehe…. Um… For me? Food poisoning… injuries… suicide attempts… hmmm… 11 or 12 times? All but one in the last 10 years. What can I say, I’m clumsy as fuck xD
42. Have you ever seen Finding Nemo?
Yes! I love that movie!!
43. Where do you buy your jeans?
Pennington’s. I am THICC. It’s the only place I can get jeans that fit without destroying what little confidence I have. Sadly though they are NOT cheap so I currently only own 2 pairs that fit me and the thighs on both are destroyed so they are being held together by denim patches from an old pair of shorts, fabric glue and some mediocre hand stitching.
44. What’s the last compliment you got?
I have vibrantly coloured hair. Right now, it’s green. I’ve had very brightly coloured hair since I was 15 I think? My natural colour is brown. I’ve only had brown hair once since I started dying it and that was when I went to go visit my boyfriend for the first time because he had never seen me with my natural colour. I just said that I looked weird with brown hair and he said “No, you look incredible.”
45. Do you usually remember your dreams in the morning?
Hmm, sometimes. Most of the time, I do. Been having a lot of nightmares and stress dreams lately, though, so I wish I didn’t...
46. What flavor tea do you enjoy?
I absolutely prefer herbal teas. My favourite is Just Peachy from DavidsTea!! I also REALLY love White Peach omg
47. How many pairs of shoes do you currently own?
Ahh…. Hmm…. I have… 8 or 9? I think? I’m not home so I can’t check.
48. What religion will you raise your children to practice?
None. I grew up Atheist. I knew of religion, obviously. My grandma is religious. But I just never understood it. My understanding was that there was a God and that he lived in the clouds and I remember looking at the sky one day and there were no clouds and I was concerned. I also didn’t understand Heaven or Hell because neither have been seen and the lack of tangibility fucked with me so hard. My grandpa got really sick in 2009, he had lung cancer. I remember when he was in the hospital I really tried to look for something, anything, to turn to for comfort because everything was falling apart around me. He unfortunately passed away and I was angry because if God is real and if he actually loved us, why would he let us suffer the way that he did, the way that I was. How dare he?! That was honestly the last straw for me. If my children want to explore religion or they want to go to church and see what it’s all about, I will absolutely support them in doing so, but I will not raise them in any specific religion.
49. How old were you when you found out that Santa wasn’t real?
That was something I just kind of grew out of. I was never exclusively told that any of that was fake. I actually have a memory from when I was 3 or 4 of sneaking out of my room really late at night and peeking into the living room where I could hear my parents talking and I saw Santa and Mrs. Clause? I also remember one Christmas night where I couldn’t sleep (this is when I was maybe 10 now) so I was watching the snow fall outside and seeing if I could spot Santa in the sky when I heard someone walking in the hall. I lived in a bit of an abusive household so I had learned what everyone’s footsteps sounded like and the footsteps were heavy, MUCH heavier than my dads (who was very overweight at the time), it definitely wasn’t my Uncle, and they were wearing shoes (or boots). I was too scared to go look outside while they walked away but after the house was quiet again, I checked, and my stocking was outside my door, so I still don’t know how to explain that...
50. Why do you have a youtube?
AHAHAHA SHAMELESS SELF PROMOTION!!!! I obviously have my personal YouTube but I don’t generally post anything, I just use it to watch shit. BUT MY OTHER YOUTUBE… I use YouTube @RatPotatoez to post videos of my rats! I will also soon use it to post my podcasts!!! RatPotatoez can also be found on Facebook, Instagram, SnapChat, Vent, basically everywhere! You should go follow me everywhere so you can see the cuteness that is my rats c:

I very much favor tea. ► CATS OR DOGS? ➔ Both are adorable creatures, but I’m more of a cat person myself. ► A FEW BEST FRIENDS OR MANY REGULAR FRIENDS? ➔ I’d rather have a few best friends who’d go through my highs and my lows than many regular “friends”. ► DAY OR NIGHT? ➔ Night. But now, it is far more pleasant. ► HAVE YOU EVER GOTTEN KICKED OUT? ➔ I mostly always ran away and stayed in a hotel or with a “partnera” to be on my own rather than deal with family feud.
FRIENDS
► DO YOU SECRETLY HATE ONE OF YOUR FRIENDS? ➔ Never. ► DO YOU CONSIDER ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS GOOD FRIENDS? ➔ Those who care about me just as much as I care about them are truly good friends. ► WHO KNOWS EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU? ➔ Jesse.
