Out of all of the 'optimise until you have built a machine to eat the planet' have that I have played (which isn't a ton) bit burner has been the only one to actually make me want to optimise.
I think it comes down to the fact that the main limiting factor to how far you go is primarily up to you.
There's a limit to how deep into the network you can go when you scan-analyse. But nothing is stopping you from long through the entire network if you know how to script it.
Yeah every script is killed off when you reset. But so are all the programs on your pc when you reboot. Your pc has a boot sequence. Robots have an initialisation phase. You can just... program something that gets you everything you need on a fresh startup.
Again. The only limiting factor is your imagination.
Feel like your basic hacking script is not efficient enough? Work on creating a process manager which tells all your little bots what to do.
Heck. The entire game is a browser with javascript. Redesign the ui to make it better for you.
Hack the game about hacking.
And by the end of it you'll understand enough to hack all the idle browser games.
#you really do need to understand or be willing to learn some coding techniques to play it#it does also have some limitations to what you can do#though half of the fun is working out how to bypass those limitations#and then you can have the philosophical debate about when the game about hacking has been hacked too much#bitburner#idle game#incremental#gaming#coding

Argenti x new knight of beauty reader. (Trainee?? I think idk) a reader who is new to the path of beauty, still learning protocols and fighting techniques, the story of idrilla and so on, maybe she's a bit clumsy with all of it but became quite close with argenti ??? That's all from me
(Ahem ahem are you interested in royale au)
Knight of beauty in-training!reader

[ HEADCANONS ] [ Argenti ]
[ Honkai Star Rail ]

Dear, please remember that i only write for gender neutral reader 🙂↕️ and OF COURSE IM INTERESTED ON ROYAL AU!!!

The path of the knights of beauty is quite the lonely one, normally all knights of beauty travel around, always making friends across the cosmos and leaning a helping hand to those who need it but never staying in one place only since the journey and job of a knight of beauty never stops
The knights of beauty don't have troubles accepting more members, after all is a path that will do everything in the name of beauty and if someone is inspired by the beauty of Idrila themselfs there is no way this people would be ignored
It doesn't matter if you had became a Knight of beauty before meeting Argenti or it was him who helped you get involved with the path, what really matter is that he already apreciate you and sees you as someone beautiful. As a fellow knight of beauty he would be more than happy to help you if you need help with your training, knights of beauty are known for being able to appreciate the beauty in all being, carry themselfs with a Code of Chivalry and are exceptional warriors, is something all knights are but it would be totally understandable if you struggle at first, a warrior isn't build in one day
Argenti can talk for hours about beauty and Idrila without getting tired nor hesitated so you are free to ask whatever you want to know, either because you need to learn about Idrila or by simply curiousity you are more than welcome to ask anything and he will answer with a smile
Training with any weapon you decide to use is also covered by Argenti, he is incredibly observant and is able to tell how mastered you are with the weapon of your choice by seeing you practice, good or bad is fine, he still finds not only the perfect compliment but also the best advice to give you to not only carry yourself with grace and beauty in combat but also to improve, he could go from even correcting your posture to just make you small reminders to don't let any open during a battle
Of course, he would not say no to training combat, it is one of the best ways to train and improve since it could be like a real fight but he wait until you feel comfortable enough to do so, it won't do any good to force you to do it. As well, he knows too well his limit and after some training he will know yours too, he knows when to slow down or when go with full strenght while training, and no matter what the results are he will always praise your efforts
If it makes you feel better Argenti would be willing to travel with you for a while, normally knights of beauty travel alone but since you are new in this he doesn't mind at all helping a fellow knight, besides, the more time you two spend together the closer you two become he will even admit how much he enjoys your company
There may be a day where you two would have to part ways, but since both follow the same path of beauty, and as knights of beauty both's ultimate goal is try to find Idrila so the chance of meeting again are high, still he would not only let it to destiny and would make sure you have his phone number before parting ways, you are friends now and if you ever need him for anything, emergency or not, you can count on him without a doubt

I have a perhaps personal ask, and at the same time struggling with how to phrase it. I've been looking into making an interactive story myself, however, I... cannot code. For the life of me. I can tell one hell of a story, but coding it beyond my grasp, and the system I currently use, while it ought to be simple enough even someone like me could do so, isn't exactly working for how I want it to. Do you perhaps know anything anywhere that I might start looking for someone who would be willing to work with me? I am so sorry if this is a bothersome ask.
Hi anon!
I'm probably not the best person for advice on this, because I've never been in that situation before. I've put some thoughts under the cut, with the caveat that only a small portion of them actually address the question you've asked, with the majority being related but perhaps not helpful for you, depending.
So, I think where you'd go to find a coding person depends on what language you're using. If it's ChoiceScript, probably the forums. If it's Twine... I honestly don't know. Maybe the subreddit, though you'll want to double-check that such requests are not against the rules there.
I sincerely doubt you'll have an easy time finding someone, though. Most folks who code in the systems used for IF are IF authors who taught themselves the coding techniques in order to tell their own stories, not someone else's.
That said, and this is the part you can ignore, because you know yourself better than I do, but... I'm pretty sure you can learn to code. It's not easy, necessarily, and it doesn't come intuitively to everyone, but there are resources out there to help you. Again, this will depend on what system you're using, but the CS forums are very useful for figuring out CS (as is the wiki, once you know enough to parse it). For Twine, there are loads of archived posts on their forums and on the subreddit for specific questions, but for general ones, the documentation for your preferred program (e.g. SugarCube), the Twine Cookbook, and similar resources will break things down into smaller, more digestible chunks. I personally recommend the Twine Grimoire (volumes 1 and 2), for basic interface aesthetics, once you get to that point.
Here on tumblr, @/nyhelism, @/cerberus-writes, @/manonamora-if, @/idrellegames, and others have all answered questions about Twine coding or even in some cases made templates that take a lot of the work out of it. Most have a masterpost regarding things they've answered about Twine or made for others' use, but be sure to check that they're currently accepting coding questions before sending them any, of course.
Learning to code may be slow and incremental, and lots of people manage better if they start with a small project just to learn how to do the basic things in their language of choice. I'd really recommend figuring out what you need your game to be able to do, and learning those functions one by one—it's less overwhelming than trying to tackle everything at once while also writing a huge project.
If all else fails, my most esoteric suggestion is to familiarize yourself with the basic principles of symbolic logic. I took a class in it as part of my degree, and have since also taught that class, and I think understanding things like the logic of conditionals (if statements) as they're used in coding (rather than natural language) really gave me a leg up in learning to code. Not that I'm an expert, but I know enough to make a basic game, at least.
Most (all?) of these things should be findable with a google search; I know there are at least some Twine tutorials on youtube as well, though I'm unsure of CS or any of the languages I'm less familiar with, like Ink, etc.
I do apologize that the section where I encourage you to do the thing you don't think you can do is longer than the one where I answered your actual question, but that's the part I might actually have something useful to say about. If you're absolutely certain you can't do it, I'm sorry for banging on about it, but if you're not sure or on the fence, maybe give it another go before trying to find another person. I've seen a lot of writers looking for coders in the past, but maybe only once was a coder offering their services to writers (and that was a long time ago).

Fluffy February Day 2: Eavesdrop
SWTOR
Rating: PG
Time period: Sometime during Hoth
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Setra pressed her ear to the mostly-closed door as Nadia and her father argued. While the pair tried to keep their arguments discreet, the whole ship knew what they were arguing about: Nadia's Force-sensitivity, and her father's steadfast refusal to allow Setra to train her.
Setra, for her part, agreed with Nadia that she needed training, but she could understand why Tobas would try to rug sweep it - Force-sensitivity was rare on Sarkhai, with Force users generally being mistrusted.
Tobas Grell wouldn't budge; he saw his daughter's skills as "just her silly little quirk", and not something that could actually do damage. Even offering to bring Nadia to Tython so she could find a Master more experienced than Setra didn't sway him.
And so, Setra and the boys had come up with a plan: she would train Nadia in secret, and the boys would distract Tobas so that the girls could do so with some privacy. That way, Nadia could at least get the basics she needed.
When the argument started to calm down, Setra darted down the hall into the engine room; Tobas wouldn't be suspicious if he saw Setra chatting with Qyzen.
As Tobas departed Nadia's quarters, Tharan took the opportunity to distract them, with the two men walking towards the stairs to the upper deck.
Once out of earshot, Setra snuck into Nadia's room. The teenager was sitting on her bed, hands fisted in her lap. fighting back tears.
Setra didn't hesitate; she sat down next to Nadia, letting the girl lean into her.
"I-I just don't understand. Why wouldn't he want me to learn how to control this? You've seen the damage I can do, even accidentally."
Setra took Nadia's hand and squeezed it. "He's worried for you. It's his job to protect you, and it's the one thing he can't protect you from. And if I train you, convince the Jedi to let you join, you'd be away from him for long periods."
Nadia's nose flared as she got up and started to pace. Setra dutifully stayed on the bed and watched her.
"But he of all people should understand! What you do is no different than what he does, really, so the danger level is similar. Besides, you're usually on archaeological digs anyways, which is even safer."
Setra stayed quiet for a long moment, choosing her words carefully.
"What if I told you that I'd be willing to play a small lie? I've talked to the boys already, and they're in agreement. I'd like to train you, but behind your father's back; the boys are willing to distract him so we can practice in peace. You get the training you need without having to leave your father, and he doesn't have to worry about you."
Setra knew she was skating very close to breaking her Codes by taking Nadia on as a secret Padawan.
But it's what Master Yuon would have done.
Nadia's eyes widened, and she looked at Setra excitedly.
"Wait, you mean it? And Qyzen, Tharan, and Zenith will help cover for us?"
Setra nodded, a small smile playing at her lips.
"Can we start now?"
"We can, but we'll be starting with proper meditation techniques."
Nadia didn't care. She was going to become a Jedi.
Obligatory Friday Night Funkin’ fighting game AU post (part 2 of idk how many)
Even though I’m a lazy fuck I know there’s people out there who wanna read this so let’s just get it over with
-AGOTI: Trapped in the Void like in his own mod’s continuity, has tentacle-based powers that allow him to raise pillars from underneath the ground like he did in the Void. Usually freestyles and is pretty damn good at it. Chaotic neutral, hangs out with Tabi and Ayana when not busy.
-Aldryx: AGOTI’s older brother, they’re mostly the same but he is more composed and responsible...even if you can barely notice it. Has been scouting for AGOTI ever since he disappeared in the Void under the “orders” of Solazar. They have the same powers, but Aldryx prefers a more aggressive rock beat in comparison to his brother’s freestyling.
-Solazar: Solazar is a unique type of fighter, a Composer. They’re exceptionally well-versed in most types of music and have their own unique fighting style that can’t be easily imitated. Most of the times Composers are figures of great wisdom and/or power. DD is also secretly a Composer but rarely uses all of his powers. Sol is to this day one of the few other people who is actively fighting off DD’s rise to power and is trying to push his adopted screen demon sons to cooperate with GF and BF’s efforts to stop DD (despite the fact that one of them is friends with Tabi, who still has beef with GF).
-Nikusa: Not doing anything for her until her part of the FNF Entity mod drops but she exists in this universe.
-Tabi: Before Funkin Fightin’ was a thing, GF was in love with Tabi but nonetheless used him to try and conquer her father’s empire. When he turned music into a form of fighting, Tabi didn’t know how to hurt a fly, and so GF ditched him to DD, who turned him into what he is today. He is now out to personally get GF, DD and anyone who might get in his way for revenge. Uses a fight style similiar to BF’s but isn’t afraid to play dirty against someone who he feels has wronged him. After the restaurant incident he’s a tournament member who is wanted by the authority.
-Ayana: Before Pico, BF dated her, and while she still clearly loves him, it’s clear for her that he moved on. Still, she knows GF’s up to no good and is repeatedly trying to warn BF about it. She and Dalia have Tabi hidden in their house. Has a fighting style similiar to that of Mommy Mearest, although unlike her she actually fights fair and doesn’t try to seduce her opponents.
-Dalia: EDM has been less and less mainstream as time went on, but Dalia still isn’t afraid of spewing out good tracks. EDM artists are known for being glass cannons in the Funkin Fightin’ business, and she’s no exception, she’s the second strongest EDM artist on the block. Is in a relationship with Ayana. She is also prone to stopping her sets to help her friends back at Apollo against demons.
-Miku: In-universe she’s BF’s older sister, and due to her working specifically in the Vocaloid industry, GF’s parents can’t lay a single hand on her. More often than not she insists on protecting her brother as if he was still little. Has Camellia as musical backup during her Funkin Fightin’ fights due to her being mostly a martial pacifist.
-Sarvente: Nuns shouldn’t fight, am I right? Sarvente is one of the few people who is in DD’s tournament to promote her church. Still she knows in the moment she’s going to go full power she’s going to scare away literally everyone in the arenas. Has been costantly receiving funds by a mysterious sponsor alongside Ruv.
-Ruv: As a former hitman, he knows exactly how to fight. He just needs to learn to do it to the rhythm of the typical Russian ballads he listens to in his free time. Has refused to fight Sarvente even in her demon form. Is also in the tournament for the church, but also to avoid other hitmen sent to kill him for his retirement. Also has been receving funds by a sponsor.
-Selever: The mysterious sponsor. Has found a way to enter this universe (and is doing money with cryptocurrency), but if he interacts directly with Ruv or Sarv, or if he gets found and defeated by a being of higher power like Composers, Updike or Auditor, he’s sleeping with the fishes. Annoying as ever, half of the tournament opponents have beef with him due to him behaving like an annoying asshole. Also calls for Rasazy’s backup with some attacks and plays dirty like hell. His goal is to defeat DD so he can live with his parents in peace.
-Shaggy: In this continuity the entirety of Mystery Incorporated is alive and well and not dead of old age. Not even Shaggy knows how he has his powers, but he isn’t really complaining, as long as his friends are left in peace by the supernatural. Is fascinated by Funkin Fightin’ and is choosing a musical style on which to base his rhythm.
-Matt: Originally trained other people in various sports, but after his loss with BF he became obsessed with trying to defeat him in Funkin Fightin’. Trains under Shaggy to achieve this goal. Still, he has a code of honor and wants a fair fight by any opponent. Doesn’t have a specific musical style yet and is not willing to use Wii Sports music like one would expect from him.
-Zardy: Isn’t partecipating in the tournament and interacts with nobody. There is only one rule: don’t enter his maze for absolutely no reason. He’s going to wreck you with Halloween songs and by swinging around his farming tools. The only ones allowed in are Tricky, Monster and Starecrown for the Friday night poker game, where he is prone to winning at least against Tricky; Starecrown and Monster are just too 300 IQ for him to face head-on.
-Camellia: Remember when I said Dalia’s the second strongest EDM artist on the scene? Guess who’s first. His techniques as a Composer are known for breaking many body parts, so Masaya Oya only ever works as backup for BF’s sister Miku. But if you actually manage to bring him to a Funkin Fightin’ fight on his own you’ll regret it deeply. Dude is as strong as Shaggy and Matt COMBINED.
-Sky: BF’s number one fangirl and leader of his two-member fanclub, her beef is mainly with GF, but to beat her she has to go through BF first. Behaves a lot like Knives Chau from the Scott Pilgrim franchise. Writes fanfics. Has a very...weird fighting style, and does it to the beat of anime openings apparently.
-Starecrown: The, erm...OTHER member of BF’s fanclub. Is unironically best friends with Sky due to their shared interest in BF and usually carries her around as if he was her pet. Is very polite and tries not to come off as scary with his stares, but it’s beyond his power. Nobody ever even understands his fighting techniques, only the musical screeches he emits when he does it to the rhythm.
NEXT TIME: Hopefully everyone related to Bob, Undertale/Underverse characters, Eddsworld cast, CJ & Ruby, ENA, Nonsense, if possible even more
And finally, here we are, Episode 36 of Word of Honor, and I have some FEELINGS. Let me show you them.
There also will be Episode 37 here, btw, because I’m not gonna do a separate reaction for a three-minute episode, no matter how grateful I am that we got it.
(Spoilers, so if that’s not what you want right now, scroll on by and come back after you’ve watched it. Them.)
Let’s get to the meat of the episode right away: THE HAIRPIN. And Wen Kexing knowing Zhou Zishu would have it, because he’d definitely take it with him if he was going on a suicide mission! Y’all. I really have to yell about this for a minute: That’s how secure WKX has become in his knowledge of what he means to ZZS! After all that time angsting and hiding the truth of his identity and worrying that he’s not worthy of ZZS and that he’d be rejected if ZZS knew the truth about him! But now, WKX has finally reached a point where he understands and knows (zhiji, the one I know) he’s so important to ZZS that ZZS would never ever go off to die without taking his most precious possession, the hairpin that his husband gave him! I can’t. My heart. This is like a declaration, after all that time saying they were zhiji, that WKX finally is able to truly see ZZS as that, to know him in his bones, and all of this is also delivered in the middle of WKX in a strop, irritably chastising his husband as an evil brat for running away from home to get himself killed, with Gong Jun’s little >:( face in full effect, and I am so filled with love for this show and this couple at this point that I have to pause Youtube just so I can roll around on the sofa, clutching at my chest and scaring the cats with my inarticulate noises. This is so good, y’all. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted. Also, now you know how it feels, WKX, you asshole. Which I suppose is why you even confess that it will would be more painful for the one who survives when if the other dies. And you were prepared to do that to him a second time? I cannot believe you, you asshole. You get to sleep on the ice couch for a month.
And then there’s some Six Cultivation Power mind-melding and what looks to be an INCREDIBLY STUPID and HEARTBREAKING ending that would leave us Burying One of Our Gays, so it’s a good thing Episode 37 (all three minutes of it) exists. It would be nice, though, if the connective tissue from 36 to 37 made any sense. Or existed whatsoever. Just, like, throw me a bone, here, show. Some kind of explicit hand-waviness that actually gets mentioned for why Ye Baiyi apparently was not as smart as he thought he was and didn’t really know what he was talking about when he was doomsaying about how one of the pair will surely, oh surely perish. None of this “Sooooo, they managed to figure out the technique and master it?” from some random shidi who never actually gets an answer. I mean, the door was left open for fanwankery on this one, with what looks to be a very last-minute conceit of all this being a story told by grown-up Chengling to his disciples, which begs the question of how much of what he’s telling them is totally accurate, given any number of issues, including the spottiness of human recall, the possibility (based on the fact they’re still on the mountain in Ep 37) that Chengling never actually saw either of them again to get the full story, and the way Gao Xiaolian basically calls bs on the whole thing. But this is still a gossamer-thin thread on which to hang Ep 37. Ep 37 basically functions as reassurance because of the mere fact of its existence, because they’re clearly both alive, right there in front of your face, regardless of the other fact that it doesn’t actually make any sense, based on Ep 36. It ultimately doesn’t matter if there is no Step 2, because Step 3: Profit! is … right there. In evidence. Happening. On your screen. No matter how vaguely unsatisfying the lack of Step 2 may be.
I do feel like there’s an interesting meta thing going on here, in that the entire show has been about – let’s be honest, it was never really about the plot - queer-coding this couple in ways that supposedly fly just enough under the radar that people can handwave them as Just Good Friends and Brothers (I mean, I guess) with a Bury Your Gays tragic ending (ugh) for good measure. And Chengling is telling a story in-universe that seems to conform to some of this same formula. And yet, we all know well and good that these guys were husbands. (I mean, barring anything else, they’re a couple in the original source material, so checkmate, censorship.) So, are we supposed to carry the same assurance out of the show, on a meta level, that what appears to be happening at the end of Ep 36 - what we discover we’re learning through Chengling’s story-telling - isn’t really the truth? Just, look: While we’re getting the Good Friends and Brothers push, there’s stuff like obvious voice-over work that doesn’t match the much more queer version of what the actors actually said, which is apparently blazingly clear to any viewers who know Mandarin and can manage to lip-read. The show has literally put de-queered words into these characters’ mouths. You can’t trust what you hear. But apparently the show has also made this obvious enough that, if you’re a good enough speaker of the language the show is being told in, and you have a good enough eye, you can see what is actually going on. Are we being taught to trust our eyes more than our ears, are we being told that what we’re being told - by the end of Ep 36 on a meta level, by Ye Baiyi-through-Chengling’s-story on an in-universe level, and by what we learn about what happened from Chengling’s story, itself, also on an in-universe level - is inherently untrustworthy, but that if we “speak the language” of this show well enough, and have a good enough eye, we can decode it and see what “actually” happened and is later made explicit in Ep 37? Is Ep 37 canon? Does it matter, when “what is canon” is already so slippery on this show, where you can apparently lip-read something that’s different than what you’re hearing, and it functions as canon because of the mere fact of its existence, because it’s clearly … right there. In evidence. Happening. On your screen.
Anyway, just some thoughts on all that, which I guess is my own fanwankery work to join up the end of Ep 36 with Ep 37, which was, of course, delightful. No matter how much I might bemoan the lack of Step 2, I had a stupid, dopey grin on my face all the way through Ep 37 and might have even teared up a tiny bit at the very end. You can’t prove anything. Lemme tell you, though, it’s a good idea to have 37 on hand when you run into the brick wall of the end of 36, because while WKX’s willingness to sacrifice himself for love is theoretically great, it is not something I actually want to see come to fruition, given the pall it would cast over the entire joyous experience that the ZZS/WKX relationship is throughout the rest of the show. Sure, there’s always fic, but there’s a heaviness that hangs over the Bury Your Gays trope, and it’s retroactively ruined shows for me before. So THANK YOU, to those of you who hooked me up so I could immediately move on to Ep 37.
What else? Other things:
OK, so, first, I have to get this out of the way: Did we actually already see all of those “flashbacks” we get in the first part of the ep, during the conversation between Zhou Zishu and Jing Beiyuan, when all the political stuff is supposed to be finally falling together to give us the big picture? I would have to go back and scrummage through those eps to be sure, and I’m not going to spend time doing that (yet) when I still need to do some keysmashing about Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing OH MY GOD, but I do feel like some of this was new information, not just stuff that I’d glossed over because it didn’t seem important at the time? If so, not on, show. I will be keeping an eye out for that on re-watch. I am, however, perfectly willing to accept – if it turns out to be true – that you utterly distracted me with the failboats-in-love storyline, to the detriment of my focus on, you know, plot or whatever. It’s happened before. (It’s one of the reasons I need to go back and watch The Untamed again, at some point.)
OMG FAKE KEY! And as ZZS points out, this has been foreshadowed for us from early on, with WKX’s fake Glazed Armors plot. :bangs table with fist: YES. This show is going to reward re-watching SO MUCH.
Duan Pengju, oh my god, this asshole. The look on his face when the Armory didn’t open was so gratifying. Also, ha. I wondered when ZZS was finally going to be done with his shit. In fact, so much gratification in this whole scene. Xie Wang’s face when he realizes WKX double-crossed him – what, did you think you were the only tricksy one in that little alliance, Xie’er? And, holy shit – I cannot believe that Xie’er actually words this as WKX failing him, taking us back around to this theme one more time again. I would maybe feel a little worse for you if you hadn’t been a hairsbreadth away from killing him before ZZS stopped you in the last ep, Xie’er. Also if you hadn’t helped get A-Xiang killed. So I think the fail in this relationship is going both ways. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like you’re going to get the time WKX had to start untangling yourself from the ways your abuser has fucked you up and over.
It once again becomes blindingly clear why ZZS has been my ride-or-die during this whole thing: Under the grumpy, irritable, day-drinking yet somehow eminently practical exterior, he’s actually an idealistic do-gooder who just wants to make the world a better place for people and sacrifice himself for great justice. Never let it be said that I don’t have a type. Also, I mean. Zhang Zhehan’s FACE. Let’s don’t discount the power of that.
Final word: Don’t miss Ep 37. All three minutes of it. They are perhaps the most important three minutes of the entire show.
(I mean, not FINAL final word. I expect to be going back for a re-watch and posting more things, particularly on eps from before I started typing up 1000K-word reactions this first time around.)
How Hogwarts Houses Study
Hello guys! I had a lot of ideas for my first official post on Tumblr and eventually I have settled in creating this! It started off really serious but I also added some scenarios so it became like this! I literally have no idea if this has been done before and I thought I should give it a try- just for fun!
Online classes have yet to officially start for me so I have an abundant amount of time in my hands. I am sure that once they officially start, I wouldn’t have time to fantasize about being a student at Hogwarts!
Warning: I am also very sorry if some of these seem to be generalizations/ stereotypes. I thoroughly believe in the fact that everyone is different and just because they belong to a certain house, doesn’t mean they ‘study less’ or ‘study more’, etc. I think this is a very close-minded way of viewing things as everyone, no matter their house, can choose to study and to not study and have different reactions to stress/ have different study methods. I also think everyone at least belongs to two houses with varying percentages so there might be some overlap! Anyways, it is all in good fun! Enjoy!
The type to verbally recite the material in the halls for memorization, annoying everybody else in the process
Scrawled notebooks and underlined words for emphasis
Simplifies the concept for better understanding, repeatedly using the Feynman Technique
Struggles not to scream out the answer during lectures
Ink blobs seeping through the parchment
Bites their quill habitually
Breaks their quill habitually
The first to turn in assignments. ALWAYS. Slytherin is always in second.
Rushes through projects haphazardly
Likes ambient sounds during study sessions
Hits themselves on the head when trying to remember
Starts and finishes everything as soon as possible
Finishing matters more than perfection
Not afraid to challenge teachers
No one can tell the difference between a stressed out Gryffindor and a rabid squirrel
Memorization, memorization, memorization is key
Scrunches up the parchment
Remembers actions and physical procedures very well
“What the fuck are aesthetics and why should I care?” Gryffindor mutters defensively.
The type that gets distracted in study groups, prefers to study alone
Early riser
Sticky notes! Sticky notes everywhere!
Uses Feynman Technique and spaced repetition (with sticky notes!)
Very aggressive when distracted
Tiny bounces during lectures
Twiddles with thumbs
Most likely to participate eagerly in class
Wrong answers provide encouragement, giving light to the right ones
Beat themselves up when getting the question wrong a second time they encountered it
Bought multiple quills, parchment, inkwells, to color code different classes
Starts projects but struggles with finishing due to “not-being-good-enough” mentality
Always thinking that they are on the brink of failing but they are actually at the top of their class
Confident in work ethic but is insecure of those “with natural intelligence”
Believes 100% in the Effort Rule
Unintentionally charming to teachers
Willing to take leadership roles in groupwork. Is naturally talented in getting people to work together.
Spends a lot of time reading the material, triggering deep understanding
“Aesthetic, if functional, is important Gryffindor! Doesn’t it look cute?” Hufflepuff says brightly, showing the notes.
Probably made the biggest and most complicated mind map in the world
No one except they, themselves, can understand their notes (except Gryffindor, they understand each others notes for some reason)
Completely disregards the Feynman technique
Doing multiple things at the same time
No sleep
Is not aware of their keen memory. Would somehow remember the entire Section 7 Article 23 of Magical Theory but forget their shoes.
Memory is triggered by their passion on the subject
Can study well with other people but nobody studies with them because they can’t keep up with the madness (except Slytherin)
The type to completely dive into a subject to the point they get off track and suddenly they only have 30 minutes to deal with the other mountain of work they need to do
Looks like they slack off but they don’t, they are simply nocturnal
Has difficulty starting projects “There are many ways to think about this and I can’t just choose one!” mentality
Books. Brings them everywhere. Books.
Scolds Slytherin for writing in library books but does the same anyway
Has a love-hate relationship with the teacher
“You know what they say, Hufflepuff, the best aesthetic is pyrotechnics” Ravenclaw says, a spark forming at the end of their wand, while everyone panics.
Regularly talks to the teacher for information on upcoming assignments and tasks
Pokes holes through parchment
Thoroughly despises group work
Becomes a tyrant during group work
Likes to teach other people concepts but has to be buttered up before doing so
Memorizes by closing their eyes, mentally writing the answer, occasionally muttering
Spends the entire lecture charming Gryffindor's pens to slip from their hand everytime they try to write
Learns more on their own
Most likely to pretend they didn't study but literally spent 3 days without sleep just to get a perfect score
Obsessed with flashcards. Makes them all the time.
Complete silence during study sessions is a must therefore avoiding the Gryffindor is a must.
Finds Feynman Technique difficult because they want to include all the details and information
Too ambitious with their to-do list resulting either a soul-crushingly productive day or a burn-out day where they do absolutely nothing. No in-between.
Believes in “to hate the system is to play the system” so charming teachers requires effort, hitting their pride
Makes it their life goal to fool Gryffindor to quickly turn in assignments first in a ‘who-can-do-it-faster-’ battle so that they don’t double-check their answers, therefore getting a lower score
Has difficulty starting and finishing projects because they compare themselves to other people too much
Gets bored when there is no competition but gets butt-hurt if there is
“Hurry and blow it up Ravenclaw! Why give a warning so that they can run away?” Slytherin yells, from a safe 15 meter distance as the other students scatter from the flames.
Ok ok so I'd been idly thinking about updating "Chats with Joker in Mementos" for Royal for a while, except as far as I know there aren't any transcriptions for the Royal Mementos chats like there is for Vanilla...
So...after some questionable use of my time, I now have a list of a good chunk of the starters in Royal. Only starters, not responses, since the point of the fic is having Joker be the one to respond, and I didn't transcribe ones I didn't think would be interesting for him to respond to, but still, if anyone does ever look to do a complete transcription, this might be helpful as a start? Or just interesting if you want to see what some characters talk about. Spoilers for third semester below cut.
Ryuji: Man, we really bust our asses to get stronger in here. I wish it meant we got stronger in the real world too.
Ryuji: Man, I had this horrible dream last night… Can’t remember a thing about it, though.
Ryuji: Ya know what? I guess Mona does have a mask, technically.
Ryuji: Yo, the way he jumps behind Shadows is so sick!
Ryuji: Yo, is it just me, or is fallin’ asleep getting tougher every night? At this point, I’m outta ideas of what to do.
Ryuji: Kinda fiendin’ for some ramen right about now… Maybe I’ll hit up Ogikubo when we get back.
RyujI: So lately, I’ve been tryin’ to work some training into my nightly routine before bed.
Ryuji: Hey, is it just me, or is Morgana’s sword basically the same size as Joker’s knife?
Ryuji: My mom made gyudon last night! My fave! Now I’ve got, like, fifty times more energy than usual!
Ryuji: This phantom thief stuff feels real as hell whenever he’s flyin’ around with that grappling hook.
Ryuji: Dude, that grappling hook is awesome! He looks like a freakin’ superhero with that thing!
Ryuji: Aww man, I just can’t get enough of those Akihabara maids…
Ryuji: Aren’t knives kinda hard to use ‘cause of their shortness? I definitely prefer my own shit.
Ryuji: I always thought darts looked easy—just aim for the board, y’know? But, it’s waaay harder than that.
Ryuji: Every try the monja in Tsukishima? That stuff is LEGIT.
Ryuji: Yo, does this outfit really make me look like I’m part of some biker gang?
-
Morgana: Listen, it’s not that I look like a cat. Cats just happen to look like me.
Morgana: I repeat: I am not a cat. To prove it, I took an actual bath yesterday.
Morgana: So, cats love to chase mice, right? I don’t get it—where’s the fun in that?
Morgana: I’m always so entranced by Panther’s whip technique!
Morgana: Panther, we have matching tails!
Morgana: You know, I’ve never actually been in a car before. Is it anything like I am now?
Morgana: I definitely made the right decision giving him the code name “Joker.”
Morgana: I’m willing to bet Joker’s skilled enough to use throwing knives.
Morgana: Anime, books, movies… Phantom thieves sure are popular.
Morgana: Last night I dreamt that Phantom Thieves were kicking some serious butt—let’s bring that dream to life!
Morgana: I can teach you everything you need to know about being a phantom thief. Relax—you’re in good hands!
Morgana: *yawn* I didn’t get enough sleep…
Morgana: I couldn’t fall asleep at all last night. I just laid there with my eyes open…
Morgana: I like Yongen-Jaya; it’s a great place for a stroll.
Morgana: Is Shujin Academy the only thing in Aoyama?
Morgana: I was vegetating in front of the TV last night, and I have to say, there are some pretty decent shows on now.
-
Ann: The bakery had a sale yesterday and I ended up buying everything they had!
Ann: The Ferris wheel is a must for me at theme parks, every time. I love being able to just relax.
Ann: I have an upcoming shoot at a theme park, but what sucks is how I can’t go on any of the rides.
Ann: Last night I dreamt I was eating a chocolate bar, then all of a sudden, it got mad and started chasing me!
Ann: Every once in a while I have a dream where I get chased by a Shadow…
Ann: I’ve been sleeping really well since I started getting all this exercise.
Ann: I was up late watching TV last night, so I might be a little sleep deprived…
Ann: I tend to do my clothes shopping in Kichijoji—it’s fun looking through all the resale shops.
Ann: I hate when people ask me to say stuff in English just ‘cause I lived overseas.
Ann: It always bothers me when foreign movie subtitles leave stuff out or take too many liberties.
Ann: I was talking to my overseas friend the other day—her straightforward attitude was really refreshing!
Ann: I was talking to Shiho on the phone and before I knew it, three whole hours had passed!
Ann: Joker seems like he’d make a good cook, doesn’t he? I mean, he’s great with his knife and all…
Ann: It’s actually quite exhilarating to attack with a whip. I wonder why that is…
Ann: Whenever my foreign relatives come to Japan, they always rave about how much they love Japanese food!
Ann: Do you think there’s anything I can do about my outfit? I feel like I stand out too much in this…
Ann: Is there a difference between a whip and a grappling hook?
Ann: Ya know, Skull’s always been into skull designs and stuff.
Ann: Wouldn’t a grappling hook be awfully handy in the real world?
-
Yusuke: I wish to paint the world as only I see it. The best way to succeed at this is through practice.
Yusuke: It’s fun to walk around and inspect different temples and shrines. The architecture is always impressive.
Yusuke: If Shadows are sentient, do you think their being moved by a painting would invoke a change of heart?
Yusuke: There have been times where I was compelled to create three-dimensional art.
Yusuke: I’m quite curious about Mona’s Western-style sword…
Yusuke: I hear whips are quite difficult to use. Where did you learn how to wield one?
Yusuke: Joker using a grappling hook…. That would make for a picture-perfect composition.
Yusuke: Mona, what exactly do you have in those pouches?
Yusuke: Creating a piece of art is pointless unless I can convey the full essence of the subject.
Yusuke: Art museums stimulate my creativity like no other place—I wish I could live inside one.
Yusuke: Skull and I both use long melee weapons, but they’re total opposites of one another.
Yusuke: Why does my outfit have a tail? I don’t understand…
Yusuke: I considered growing my own bean sprouts, but it seems to be more expensive than buying them grown.
Yusuke: I once had a dream that I washed up on a deserted island. I painted as much as I pleased… So wonderful.
Yusuke: I may specialize in Japanese-style painting, but I’d like to learn some Western techniques as well.
Yusuke: That grappling hook is very useful. I should find a way to utilize one in my daily life.
Yusuke: The other day, I went into the mountains to gather vegetables so I could cut back on food expenses.
Yusuke: I tried to paint a landscape of the starry sky once, but it’s quite difficult to do so from within the city.
Yusuke: India ink isn’t my specialty, but I’ve been experimenting with it in some recent work, just for fun.
-
Makoto: I may have stopped being a doormat for adults, but people are still calling me a “teacher’s pet.”
Makoto: A phantom thief’s body is their most vital asset. We need to make sure we eat balanced, nutritious meals.
Makoto: Do you enjoy visiting theme parks? I’ve rarely been to one myself.
Makoto: Fox looks cooler using his katana than I had originally imagined.
Makoto: I had the weirdest dream… I was at school, but I was wearing my phantom thief outfit.
Makoto: Would anyone care to learn how to drive, while we’re here? This place seems as good as any for practice.
Makoto: I know it’s not very healthy, but I do enjoy eating ramen from time to time.
Makoto: Once I’ve graduated, I’m going to buy a motorcycle and go on a road trip.
Makoto: I’ve been working on my grades because I still want to attend college, despite being a phantom thief.
Makoto: I want to read a certain book, but it’s out of print. Where do you suppose I could find a copy?
Makoto: Maybe I’m just burned out, but waking up has grown awfully difficult lately.
Makoto: The grappling hook’s cable seems pretty strong, but it’s scary to think what could happen if it snapped.
Makoto: Once my sister brought home some sushi for me. It was indescribably good…
-
Futaba: I heard rhythm’s an important part of fighting, sooo… I started playing a rhythm game!
Futaba: There’s going to be an event tonight in the MMO I play. I can’t wait!
Futaba: This MMO I’m hooked on is really cool. Do you wanna play with me? Oh—it’s in English, though.
Futaba: I’m about to beat the game I’ve been playing. Wonder what I should play next?
Futaba: I’ve been going outside a lot more, so now I’m sleeping way better than I did when I was a shut-in.
Futaba: Guess what? I’m making a game called “Hungry Hungry Mona”!
Futaba: You know who’s a really good driver, is Sojiro. He can parallel park with his eyes closed!
Futaba: If you could shoot grappling hooks from your hands, you’d probably be able to get around just using those!
Futaba: Ya know, I’ve thought about workin’ out and fighting alongside you guys.
Futaba: You guys should try playing shooters! It could help you improve your gun skills.
Futaba: Last night I had a dream my hard drive failed… That was scary.
Futaba: Wouldn’t it be cool if you could mod the grappling hook so it was electrified?
Futaba: Sure, the internet’s convenient, but it’s not like it can do everything. Don’t overestimate its capabilities.
Futaba: I wonder if I’d be okay going to some place by myself if it wasn’t crowded. Inokashira Park seems nice.
Futaba: Yesterday Sojiro bought me my favorite instant yakisoba!
Futaba: Maybe I should get a gun too, just for self-defense… Nah, my hands need to be empty.
-
Haru: I found this cafe in Kichioji with phenomenal tea—would you care to try it sometime?
Haru: I ordered kusaya but they refused to make it—they said they couldn’t get the smell out of the kitchen.
Haru: I feel like I need to learn more about the world, but I’m not sure how to best go about it.
Haru: Recently, I’ve been finding rare delicacies rather enticing…
Haru: Even lately, I sometimes dream about doing phantom thief things with Mona.
Haru: If you’re having trouble getting yourself to relax, I recommend herbal tea.
Haru: Asakusa is a wonderful area—I love how it’s this blend of the old and the new.
Haru: Ever since I started high school I’ve been taking the train in the morning, but I’m still not used to it…
Haru: Queen, your mask looks like it’s made of iron. Doesn’t it get heavy?
Haru: Joker’s so acrobatic! He’s really got the hang of that grappling hook.
Haru: I don’t think I’ve gotten this much exercise since I was in ballet.
Haru: Let me know if you ever get a tear in your clothing—I’m good at sewing, so I could most likely fix it.
Haru: I dreamt that the vegetables I’d been growing all died… I was so sad.
Haru: Your weapon seems fun, Skull. Do you want to swap sometime?
Haru: Sometimes it’s impossible for me to fall asleep on days that we’ve been to Palaces, no matter how tired I am.
Haru: You know, before this, I’d never considered using an axe for anything other than chopping firewood…
Haru: My hands have gotten all calloused… I supposed it comes with the territory in gardening.
-
Akechi: I have no intention of changing my stance on matters, no matter what anyone may say.
Akechi: Pancakes... I don’t want to hear that word again for a long, long time.
Akechi: We don’t have much time left. Please do what you can to avoid getting sick.
Akechi: The enemies are stronger than ever. Don’t let your guard down.
Akechi: A world that panders to your every whim is so mundane. Where’s the thrill if there’s no competition?
Akechi: Do you prefer my previous outfit or this one? Moving around’s become much easier for me.
Akechi: This place is immense. If there weren’t train tracks everywhere, I’d bring my bike here.
Akechi: We’re working under the constraints of a time limit, so I’d appreciate it if you could be more efficient.
Akechi: If you’re looking for a way to train both your mind and your body, I highly recommend bouldering.
Akechi: You think I’m frightening when I fight? Well, I’m afraid you’re just going to have to accept it.
Akechi: I meant to tell you, regarding Shido… Thank you for keeping your promise.
Akechi: You may not like working with me, but I’m counting on your assistance until our goal is achieved.
Akechi: When we’re riding in the car like this, it’s easy to forget that we’re actually inside Mona.
Akechi: The Shadows here behave differently from the ones in the Palaces, don’t they?
Akechi: I’m getting a bit hungry. I should’ve eaten beforehand.
Akechi: I enjoy spending time in Kichijoji. It’s not very big, but there are plenty of trendy shops.
Akechi: Riding in the car may beat walking, but it doesn’t stop my legs from growing stiff and sore…
-
Sumire: I have a few different superstitions for good luck in my routines… They get sort of hard to drop.
Sumire: It was already hard for me to believe Palaces existed, but to think there’s such a massive one under Shibuya…
Sumire: It’s a bit cramped in here with this many people…
Sumire: I get stiff all over from just sitting in the car.
Sumire: Why is the one desert you get to eat during the week so delicious?
Sumire: A phantom thief outfit represents a person’s image of their rebellion, right?
Sumire: I wonder if I should try incorporating another sport into my gymnastics training.
Sumire: I wonder what I could use as inspiration for my performances…
Sumire: Swords are actually pretty hard to wield.
Sumire: Whenever I travel, I always end up buying some sort of good luck charm.
Sumire: Your outfits are all so unique. I can see coordinating them wasn’t a priority.
Sumire: This time of year, a heating pad’s an absolute must for keeping warm.
Sumire: Sometimes people will just walk up to me and ask me to show them a standing split.
Sumire: I’m in top shape today! Let’s keep going.
Sumire: Do you all stretch beforehand? You could pull a muscle if you don’t.
Sumire: It’s too bad gymnastics competitions aren’t on TV more often.
Sumire: Fighting makes for a pretty good workout, doesn’t it?
-
while I didn't transcribe responses, I did notice something a bit disappointing: neither Sumire nor Akechi seemed to have responses for anyone else. It's possible I missed one?? But not being able to remember any, they must not have many if they do have some. A bit odd.
Khoda Station
For a long time after she joined the Project, Sirrek had found Tjumak to be a puzzle, the most difficult to understand of her colleagues. She took as read that you had to have pretty good reasons to want to risk defying the Archive’s most sacrosanct law, and also to spend half of every year out in the middle of nowhere, hundreds of kilometers from the nearest transport routes and thousands from the nearest settlements. For most of the people at the station, their motives were actually pretty simple. Koridek believed passionately in the work; so passionately that he was willing to break his most deeply held convictions about what it meant to be an Archivist. For him it was all about values. His desire to serve humanity ran deep, and that was what made him a good fit for the Archive. His desire to serve Paradise, well, that ran even deeper; it was the source of his desire to serve humanity, to protect their nascent colony, but also to violate an order that had been created decades before Sirrek was born, to prevent terrible bloodshed. Depending on how you looked at it, that made him a very bad archivist indeed.
Ardhat was also simple. She was a problem-solver. That wasn’t all of it, but it was most of it. Of course, she believed mightily, too, but Sirrek doubted anyone could believe in anything as strongly as Koridek did. But above all else, Ardhat wanted to solve the biggest problems she could find. That was what got her up in the mornings, and drove her forward. She was a puzzle-cracker, a code-breaker, a solution-seeker, a builder-of-systems. She would have been a fine architect, or a talented engineer, or a clever physicist. But what greater puzzle was there than the Great Record? What greater problem to solve could there be than resurrecting a lost world out of the most ancient memory of the past? Of building a whole new ecosystem, alongside and on top on alien to it that already existed? Sirrek was quite certain that Ardhat would die to protect the Project if it ever came to it, but in the meantime, she would live for its mysteries.
Sirrek? Well, introspection wasn’t her strong suit. But where Ardhat had a cordial indifference to authority and Koridek a deep but respectful complaint against it, Sirrek just hated being told what to do. And they had told her, you shall not be a biologist. Not in the way you want to be. You shall not undertake any part of the great work--for it will not begin in your lifetime. They had said to her, you shall leave Paradise fallow, at least for a human definition of the term. And so Sirrek hated them for that, hated them for deciding before she was born that all her talents and her ambition must be sacrificed in the name of politics, hated the religious zealots and the blind ideologues whose fledgeling war meant that it would be many lifetimes before the Paradise she dreamed of would come to be. She was compelled to disobey. That was what got her out of bed in the morning.
But Tjumak. There was a mystery. He affected it a little, Sirrek thought. He spent his days ensconced in the middle of his dark laboratory, like the heart of an animal, or the engine of a machine. He did not come and go, like Koridek. The dim light of the displays shone on the glossy exterior of his support apparatus. He had once had a survival suit, Koridek said, and had gone back and forth from the surface like most of the other Archivists, returning to Ammas Echor when the strain of surface living became too great. Archivists were not born for planetbound life; they were humanity as it lived between the stars, made for the long dreamlike time in the cold and dark, and for keeping the long memory of their people alive. How long did our ancestors travel from star to star? Sirrek had once asked her mother, when she was young. For countless ages, she had replied. Since the Garden was lost to us in the beginning of time.
A survival suit was meant to be a temporary thing, a way to endure the stresses of gravity and the immoderate temperatures of the surface. What, do you go naked in space? Sirrek had asked Koridek. Koridek laughed. No, he said. We still have to wear suits on the vessel, though they are much lighter. You see me only as a hulking, heavy thing in this armor. In microgravity, I am considered graceful; above the sky, I can dance. Why someone would exchange that for a planetbound prison, much less one where they could not leave the room they worked in, Sirrek struggled to guess. But that was what Tjumak had done. From the outside, he looked almost like a silly toy: a round, smooth metal body, topped with a round, smooth head on a short, flexible neck. His arms were more graceful, and the apparatus in which he set could turn this way and that to reach th various monitors and keyboards around him; but apparently much of the interface was actually inside the suit, which in Tjumak’s case was more of a chamber, one in which he floated in a carefully-formulated synthetic fluid. And if the power goes out? Sirrek had asked. He will be very annoyed until someone finds the switch for the backup generator, Koridek said.
Direct neural prosthetics like the Archivists used, and which Tjumak relied on for his work, were rare among the younger generations, so it was probably a less claustrophobic way of living than Sirrek imagined. And if he really had to, he probably could switch back to a survival suit. Like if they ever got caught, and had to evacuate the station. That was a possibility she did her best not to dwell on.
She got a little window into Tjumak’s world, or at least his thought process, when they spent several long weeks working on a section of the Great Record. It was a frustrating and exceedingly difficult task, and the missing portions that Sirrek needed amounted to only a handful of characters, but the Record was nearly impossible to work with directly. When she was little, her teachers had explained that the Great Record was a library of the genetic information of every animal and plant and little microscopic beastie that had ever lived in the Garden, the world humankind had come from. And when their most ancient ancestors, the ancestors of their unimaginably remote ancestors, had had to leave the Garden as exiles, they preserved the Record, and kept it safe, for hundreds of thousands of years.
That was almost, but not quite, entirely a lie. When she had started studying biology, with an eye to genetics and to endobotany specifically (back when she imagined that she might be permitted to do something with her training), she started learning about how the Great Record worked. It wasn’t just a record of DNA; that on its own would have been quite useless, she was assured. DNA was an important part of it, of course, nuclear and mitochondrial both, but only a small part. Rather, the Record had been compiled as an image of the shape of a living cell: it described actual genetic code, but also how DNA was formed, how proteins were folded, how DNA and RNA were transcribed, processes of methylation and copying, how mitosis and meiosis functioned, and so on and so forth, attempting to describe the metabolism of an ideal cell, one which contained within it the potential to embody almost any form of life to which humankind had once been related; and it was by reference to this elaborate, ideal lifeform that literally millions of other species, from single-celled bacteria that lived in the human gut to storybook leviathans, were described. And the reason, Sirrek was told, that the Record had been composed in this way was that, long long ago, their ancestors had once had the technology to use those reference descriptions directly. The heart of the Record was a terrible lacuna, a tool that had been so widespread, and so useful, that it had once been presumed it would never be lost.
Oh, fathers of my fathers and mothers of my mothers! Sirrek had thought. How far your children have fallen. The senior geneticists referred to this technology as the key to the universal cell; or just the key. What, exactly, it was and how it had functioned was hard to guess. It was related to other technologies they had that barely worked, and that they did not understand at all, like the ones the Archivists used to modify their genes and to improve their neural prosthetics. There were baseline humans who had been brought all the way from Rauk on the last journey, in sarcophagi that had preserved them between life and death. It was a form of the key that had brought them back to wholeness, and let them live out the rest of a natural lifespan. But it was a specialized version, a crippled and ghostly version. They did not have the true key; and they were working to rebuild it. Perhaps one day, many centuries from now, they would live up to the promise of those long-ago masters of the living world, and they would read forth out of the Record a whole teeming world, as had been intended.
But they didn’t need the key to start understanding the Record, and ordinary genetic engineering and cell manipulation techniques would serve to clone the most basic organisms recorded there. Of course, all of this was hampered by the fact that the Record was at both extremely terse, intending to encode an enormous amount of information in as small a space as possible, and maddeningly repetitive. It was not really one Record, but many; the collocation of multiple copies, in some places defective, and in others damaged. Later, totally uncomprehending generations had apparently lost all but the memory of the importance of the thing, and carefully copied what they did not understand into new forms. It was only in the glare of Rauk, millennia ago, that the Janese had finally understood what they had had in their grasp, and built it into the skeleton of Ammas Echor itself.
Understanding the Record had been the original purpose of the Archive, and in the long, slow journey to Paradise they had labored ceaselessly at their task. Still, it was slow work. And since their station did not have the benefit of access to either the Archive on Ammas Echor, or to all the latest work from investigators working on the surface, sometimes they had to work at it themselves. At Ardhat’s encouragement, Sirrek had been trying to get a handle on some of the plant species that, by their position in the Record, seemed to be relatively basal. Much of the work in unraveling that portion of the Archive had been done by others, and was well-known, but little attention had been paid to the bryophytes. Under the logic of the agreement between the Renewalists and the Instrumentalists, this didn’t matter. Actual resurrection of species was not slated to begin for nearly eighty years, and even then it would be confined to laboratories. But Sirrek wanted practical results. What she ideally wanted was trees, flowers, grasses, important primary producers that also occupied slightly different ecological niches from the xenophytes, and could be integrated alongside them. But mosses were step zero. Possibly even step negative one. All she needed was a single viable spore. In theory, everything she needed was in the Record, somewhere.
In their long, slow labor, the Archivists had painstakingly indexed the Record, but it was an immense of information, and one that was only partly understood. The language of the record, if it could be called that, was a sophisticated polyvalent writing system that could encode chemical formulae, the structure of molecules and proteins and organelles, and dipped in its most specific registers into the subatomic scale, to describe the precise interaction by which choloroplasts captured the light of the sun, to convert into energy; and at its most general, sketched a mathematical relationship between the populations of a predator and its prey. Yet for all that it said, it also left maddening amounts unsaid, details that were perhaps assumed by its creators to be common knowledge, or which simply could not be fit in.
“It’s almost gibberish,” Tjumak had observed dryly. “Almost.”
“Why do you think they made it in the first place?” Sirrek asked Tjumak. “Do you suppose they really thought the umpteenth children of their children would be able to make use of it?”
“I can only assume so. Hubris, perhaps, or merely an unfathomably acute case of optimism.”
“It had to have been made in the Garden, right?”
A small movement suggested a shrug from Tjumak. “To speculate on the historicity of our people before the last journey is to engage in theology as far as I can tell. Whatever the Garden once was, it is now more myth than fact.”
“Maybe,” said Sirrek, tapping her chin as she moved the same section of the Record back and forth on the display. The curling, two-dimensional network of shapes blurred together if you tried to take in too much of it at once, not to mention it was dispiriting. It was far easier to concentrate on the smallest legible piece, and work through it one symbol at a time. Tjumak peeked over her shoulder, and glanced at her notes.
“No, that’s not right,” he said. “That’s not a DNA sequence, it’s a protein sequence. Look, that’s a symbol for a folding geometry, in the corner.”
Sirrek muttered an impolite word and started backtracking.
“They can’t have made it during the Exile, anyway,” she said. “You can’t put millions of species on a generation ship. Even if most of them are beetles.”
“Perhaps not,” said Tjumak. “But what is an object such as this? It is a monument against ruin. If they made it in the Garden, they made it knowing its desolation was close at hand.”
“So you’re definitely in camp made-to-be-used.”
“I think… I think it doesn’t matter why they made it,” Tjumak said. He was scanning his own section of the text, which in real terms was inscribed about a meter and a half away from Sirrek’s on the same section of Ammas Echor’s structural frame; but which felt like it might as well have been on the other side of the planet. “The question is, why do we want to use it?”
“Hubris, and/or an unfathomably acute case of optimism?”
“It’s a reasonable question. We could have come to Paradise, gone down from the Ammas Echor, and made our living on this world as it is, with no attempt to change it besides the introduction of ourselves. For that matter, we could have stayed in orbit, bringing up such resources as we needed, air and water and soil, to make life there far more comfortable than it ever could have been on one of the airless or gasping worlds our ancestors lived their lives on, and left Paradise almost entirely unchanged. Yet when we arrived, we nearly fought a war against one another, not over whether to make use of the Record to resurrect the creatures of the Garden, but only how.”
“Do you think we should have considered the possibility?”
Tjumak leaned back from the display he was hunched over. The head of his support apparatus tilted up toward the ceiling, which was as close as he ever got to looking pensieve.
“I cannot honestly say yes. I’ve known space, Sirrek, real space. Not orbital microgravity, but the deepness beyond the summit of the sky. Some of my earliest memories are of the firing of Ammas Echor’s great engines, to turn our path inward toward the light below. Of the long, slow spiral down to the inner worlds of Kdjemmu. And even that emptiness was brighter and warmer by far than the great darkness between the stars that my mother and father were born into. When they were young, ever joule of energy was precious beyond reckoning, every drop of water or puff of air worth more than a human life.
“The other worlds around this star, they’re airless, or formless giants, or scorching hot, or worse. And every world our ancestors ever visited, if the tales are true, from the Garden-which-was-lost to Usukuul-we-mourn, was as barren as them. I cannot imagine what suffering generation after generation endured to bring us here--and it would spit in the face of every soul that died on the journey not to bring Paradise to flower.”
“We will, Tjumak,” Sirrek said softly. She had never seen Tjumak speak so earnestly before. “And we will not ravage, and we will not burn. And one day we will call our brothers and sisters out of the darkness to live with us again.” The rhythm of the ancient litanies came back to her smoothly. Her parents had not been religious, but her grandmother had been. She had recited the litanies to Sirrek when she was small, a soothing voice to sleep to.
“Will they thank us?”
“The other Exiles?”
Tjumak shook his head, then pointed at his display. “No. The ghosts we’re going to call up.”
“What do you mean?” Sirrek asked, perplexed.
Tjumak swiveled in place to another display, and tapped a few keys on the panel next to it. The image of another part of the Record appeared, this one displayed alongside long sections of plain text. There were ghostly outlines of various creatures superimposed on it and displayed alongside it, gracile things with four legs and taut muscles, and things with sharp teeth and long claws.
“This part of the Record was indexed four generations ago, and pretty well translated,” Tjumak said. “It’s an unusual one--it’s organized by relationship between constituent elements, not by phylogeny. It’s probably from a lesser Record that was only integrated into the whole later.”
“What are they?”
“Animals. Warm-blooded, furry, placental. Very much like us, in some ways, but quadrupedal. And, to judge by the annotations, quick. Well-muscled. Herbivorous and carnivorous.”
“One is predator, and one is prey?”
“Likely.”
Sirrek had that dark feeling again, the one that was tinged with despair. Sometimes it came up when she looked at too much of the Record at once, or when she spent too long thinking about the aching gulfs of time that they hoped to bridge with the Project. The feeling that it was too much--too much for her, too much for anyone, too much for innumerable lifetimes.
“We’re a long way from placental mammals, Tjumak.”
“Yes. But we’ll get there one day. I don’t doubt that. What I wonder is, what would they say? If we could ask them. And, you know, they could talk.”
“I don’t think there’s anything alive that doesn’t want to live.”
“Ah, but they are not alive. Not right now. It will be us who make them live, if we choose to. And consider, my friend, what that will mean. For some, they will be the prey. The hunted. The fearful. The one whose existence ends with blood and pain and screaming. And others, they will be the predator. Hungry, ever-hunting, fearing that one day their source of food will move beyond the hills, or that a harsh winter will kill them all, and leave the hunter to starve.”
“You think it’s not a life worth living?”
“Would you want to live such a life?”
Sirrek shook her head. “It’s not a coherent question. Does the ferngrass or the swarmbug want to live? The ferngrass can’t react to external stimuli at all, and the swarmbug has six neurons wired in sequence--basically glorified clockwork that tells it when to fly and when to land, and when to lay eggs. There are more complicated xenozoa in Paradise, but they aren’t anything like us, either. And these mammals? Maybe they’ll be able to feel pain, and hunger, and a kind of fear in the moment--but ‘life worth living’ is a human concept. I’m not sure it applies.”
“Surely it must. Even to creatures without language, without tool use, without abstract thought. If they can suffer and feel joy, there is a place where suffering outweighs joy, however you favor one side of the equation over the other. Someone that brought a child into the world, knowing their whole life would be without joy and full of suffering, would be cruel indeed.”
“Are you really proposing we put the entire Project on hold to decide if the creatures we bring back might suffer too much for the Project to be worth it?”
“Just humor me for a bit.”
“All right, fine. A parent has moral responsibility for their child’s welfare.”
“Unless and until we discover something wiser than us already living here, we have moral responsibility for this world.”
“And it would be cruel of us to go out of our way to inflict suffering on the things living in it. You don’t see me pulling the wings off swarmbugs. But that moral responsibility only goes so far, because we can’t impose human values without limit onto things which live very different existences from us.”
“Not so different, these beasts here,” Tjumak said, tapping the display.
“Different enough. Different enough that in order to even begin to pose the question of whether their life was worth living, you would have to alter them mind and body until they were far more human than anything else. If you cannot pose the question without destroying the thing you propose to investigate, it is a bad question.”
Tjumak tilted his head in what Sirrek had come to recognize as the sign of a smile somewhere on the face she could not see. But he didn’t seem ready to drop the argument yet.
“Aren’t all values human values in the end? Unless you believe in a creating power with the authority to order the ethical universe by its own whim, which seems rather like a self-contradicting idea to me. The only values we have to judge the world by are human values. They’re limited tools, but they’re the best ones available. So if a human could have a life not worth living, so could an animal, by the only standard we have available to judge.”
“I don’t know if I buy that,” Sirrek said. “But even so: everything that lives desires to live. If you could bring one of those beasts back, and then you tried to hurt or kill it, it would run away. There’s something like volition there, and as far as I can tell, a vote in the ‘let me live!’ direction.”
“Hardly a spirited defense of the idea, though!” Tjumak said. “A mere stimulus response, maybe.”
“You can’t have it both ways. You can’t say a beast’s volition matters if it doesn’t want to suffer, but doesn’t matter if it wants to live. It’s not human, so you can’t ask the question as you would to a human, or to another creature capable of abstract thought, and in the only way it knows how to tell you, it tells you it wants to live. And, presumably, do other things. Eat. Run. Have babies. You might not let it do all those things. You certainly don’t have to let it eat you. But if the creature’s experience of the world matters at all, its desires must matter in some sense, too.”
“There’s always the option of just leaving out the carnivores, you know,” Tjumak said. “After all, your moss here doesn’t feel pain. Probably.”
Sirrek smiled. “I really hope not. And maybe that is an option. Or maybe we don’t know enough. Maybe the carnivores are as essential to the herbivores as the herbivores are to them, in some way we haven’t seen. I think a certain expansive humility is necessary when poking at these questions.”
“Humility. Humility!” Tjumak roared with mock outrage. “Expansive humility, says the woman who opposes the Archive and the consensus of the whole world, and seeks to resurrect an ancient biosphere from the dead! While remaking an alien one to boot!”
“You can be ambitious and humble at the same time,” Sirrek said. “It just means you set your sights high, but aren’t surprised when you fuck everything up.”
Tjumak laughed sharply. “You’re a good sparring partner,” he said. “Koridek always gets annoyed with me when I try to start an argument, and Ardhat has learned to ignore me. It’s good to have a new face around.”
And for the rest of the evening, that’s all Sirrek thought their conversation was--a verbal wrestling match for Tjumak, a way for him to sharpen his wits, and get to know Sirrek at the same time. But later that night, as she was brewing a cup of bitterstalk tea to take to bed with her, she saw a dull glow from Tjumak’s lab, when his monitors were usually all dark, and he was asleep. She went to the door, thinking to say goodnight, but paused when she got there. His back was turned to her, and he was looking at the image on his monitor, the one that showed the ghostly outline of runners and hunters, of the ones that long ago had died, and the ones that long ago had killed. He seemed to be staring at it, intently, one finger tapping slowly on the side of the display.
As she lay in bed waiting for sleep to overtake her, it occurred to her that Tjumak’s cynicism was just as much a kind of protection as his support equipment. It was his armor against the world, and the fears of his own heart. She didn’t doubt his commitment to the project. She did not doubt the commitment of a man who had exiled himself indefinitely to the loneliest place in the world. But he understood, perhaps, that he was responsible for the world he hoped to create. Maybe it was right that it should keep them all up at night from time to time.
Let’s Talk about the dreaded writer’s block and what to do when you have no motivation! You know when you’re a weird mood, going through the motions and it just feels like it’s hard to get motivated? When you’re in a funk, everything feels a little bit “off” and you can’t place your finger on what it is…This feeling of lack of motivation, discouragement and in general a feeling of overwhelm seems to take over you.
In some ways you’re not really sure what you feel guided to do, the confusion actually makes it harder to focus. So this case of writer’s block gets a bit bigger than what you meant it to be. And suddenly you’re off of your A game, you stopped committing, you fell into a rut and now you’re feeling stuck. We often feel immense overwhelm because our energy is scattered and therefore so is our point of attraction – our focus. However, what we have to see is that Overwhelm is simply resisting what is. And what we’re actually feeling – when we get stuck, feel discouraged, or have a ton of lack of motivation is simply RESISTANCE. This feeling of being stuck is an illusion, this feeling of lack of motivation is an illusion – because underneath all of it – is you not willing to push harder through the resistance to get to the other side.
So often we find ourselves giving up, fearing failure or falling into cycles of self-sabotage but what we’re actually doing? We’re not willing to sit down in the chair long enough to WAIT for the DROP – To wait for the moment where we can push past our own fear, our own anger even our own doubt and SURRENDER fully to the pathway unfolding in our mists.
As we let that lack of motivation keep us in ideas full of doubt or inaction, We fall into a cycle of unconscious excuses that are mirroring a fear of change. “Well i just don’t feel like it today” “I don’t think i have the energy for this,” “this is just too overwhelming so i guess I’ll do nothing” “do i really have what it takes?” “I’m not sure i can do this, i just can’t” “I just need more focus…more clarity…more time…more space to figure this out” All of this is underpinning the simple realization that Lack of Motivation, doubt, insecurity and inaction is simple one thing: NOISE – Noise from the Resistance to Change.
And our job is to call it out for the bullshit it truly is and remember who we truly are – The funk you’re in – it’s just showing you, you’re afraid of change. Completely normal, it’s human.
But once identified? LET’S GO. The only way out is thorough – so are you willing to be patient enough to allow the emotion to disburse and YOU to be pulled by soul, by higher self anyway and move forward anyway or will you succumb to the noise? Whenever we feel an immense lack of motivation, where we feel stuck, and just lost? It’s time to pivot, change direction and recognize that your Ego is simply BORED and demanding change. That’s truly all that is and the more we recognize that – we start to take away its power over us.
This feeling of being in a ‘dry spell’ or a plateau or any feelings where you feel deep in the trenches of the ILLUSION, you must recognize it is simply an illusion.
There is always a new perspective to drop into, there is always wisdom to guide you within, and there is always a moment of energetic redirection where you can actively choose to SHIFT your energy. That is how truly powerful you are. So you may say you don’t have the energy today, you may say you can’t do it – but what i know? Higher self always will show you HOW to do it – so really this lack of motivation we’re feeling? There is always a way out of being stuck
Being Stuck is merely an illusion of the ego, of the mind and our job is to ALLOW the Drop so you can simply ride it out and allow flow to kick in anyway. Because that is the moment where you just dissolved the past into the present and became one with the FLOW of Life again.
The question is, are you willing to be patient in the discomfort to surrender fully to Drop in to SOUL or will you continue to say you’re stuck? The true job is to the push past the veil of resistance so deeply your excuses suddenly dissolve and disappear in your path. That is when you have truly shifted your energy. As I explain deeper in the Vlog this week, I was recently feeling caught up in a funk and I decided to talk about it on this week’s youtube episode. Let’s go deep into what it’s like when you have writer’s block, an immense lack of motivation and what you can start to do about it! Congrats on 200!! Fake dating au Daminette please?
Thank you so much :>
I hope this came out well, I wasn’t sure where to go with this... without further Adieu
///
Why damian was picked to go to Paris to asses the situation he wouldn’t know, and no Grayson he doesn’t need more human interaction he’s perfectly happy with what he has. ‘This Marientte girl better be worth his time’ was all he could think as he entered the bakery he was told he could find his contact. Why a simple civilian would baffle him but he didn’t make those kinds of choices.
He was greeted by a short woman with grey eyes, not his contact, and a warm smile. “How may I help you today monsieur?” thank god Damian had brushed up on his French before walking into the bakery, “Earl Grey and a chocolate croissant?” he asked, the crash in the back taking most of his attention. “Of course monsieur,” he just placed some money on the counter and sat down at a small table to wait for his order. ‘This was the right place right?’ he checked the address Dick had sent him, it was… now where was she?
A cup of tea was placed in front of him, bringing him out of his thoughts, “I believe this is yours,” the girl around his age said in near perfect English, though accented it was clear. She handed him a small slip of paper with the code word he was told to look out for and winked as she went back to the back to help in the back. It also had a number Damain assumed was hers and a place to meet later. ‘At least she knows subtly,’ he finished his food and left to get ready and to tell Dick he had made contact.
Damian was early, but there he stood at the base of the Eiffel Tower, she should be there soon. And as luck would have it there she was walking up in a different outfit. Light blue overalls with a baby pink crop top underneath and simple vans, casual attire that wouldn't look out of place, so she was smart. His black jeans, a t-shirt and high tops didn't feel under dressed anymore.
“So I assume you’re the ‘little bird’ Nightwing was so happy to talk about,” there was amusement in her tone as she spoke in English. ‘Didn’t she know I know French perfectly fine’ “Perhaps, are you the one I’m supposed to be spending my time with?” “Oh god don’t tell me he was serious about fake dating, I swear to god…” she was starting to ramble ‘So that was Dick’s idea who was he kidding of course it was, human interaction my ass’ “I’ll be in your class by next week,” Damian cut her off on whatever she was rambling about, “We should get our story straight.” “True true,” she lead him to a small secluded area off of the Seine so they could talk more freely.
The story they came up with was they met at a gala and had hit it off despite the odds. Believable because Mari was the kind of person to make friends with almost anyone, she also told him to use English around her if he wanted a minimal chance for people to follow what they were saying. He came to do the exchange program to broaden his horizons and the fact his new girlfriend was there was a plus, believable knowing his family. She also warned him about her class and a liar, ‘lovely’ was all he could think, more social climbers.
The weekend before Damian joined the class he couldn't figure out how this petite girl one had contacted the League and two why she was trusted by the heroes of this city, she looked like hard a breeze would hurt her. Okay that might be an exaggeration but still! She didn’t look like she could hold her own against anything, so why her? That was something he’d get his answer in due time, walking in on something he wasn’t meant to know.
Damian insisted on taking her to school on Monday, as a way to show that she was his and so he didn’t need to ask where the class was. Not that he would admit the second part. Damian took her hand as they left the bakery, and they made idle small talk on the short walk to the school. When a black limo pulled up Mari seemed to perk up, something to keep of note. A blonde boy with light green eyes walked out and instantly lit up upon seeing Mari. she was quick to let go of Damian and whisper something into the blonde’s ear and hug him nodding her head slightly back to Damian’s direction, interesting.
Damain had spent the rest of the day close to Mari but otherwise not paying attention, he already knew everything that they were teaching, this was a waste of his time. Sitting in the back with his ‘girlfriend’ at least let him avoid the looks of the class and watch their behavior. Only three people of note in the whole class. Mari by his side (she also seemed to pay little attention but had well done notes that seemed ahead of the class), the blonde boy for earlier who he learned rather quickly was Adrien Agreste (seemed to also be way too ahead for this class and to share something secret with Mari, he’d need to look into that later) and lastly the Rossi girl. She was not the good interesting though, lies were constantly coming from her mouth to the point he found it hard to believe anyone could take what she was saying seriously. Damain assumed Mari was over exaggeration when she warned him.
That was routine for about a month: go to class with Mari, be bored out of his mind, hide from the Akumas of the week, then go to her place to get more info. The occasional “date” to a coffee shop or walk in the park. Nothing out there but so it was clear they were dating, constantly holding hands, conversations in English and small gifts. Most of the class had left him alone after it was clear he was with Mari, “If he’s willing to date a jealous girl like Mari he wasn’t worth their time” was the general consensus of the class, he’d gladly take it.
It wasn’t until he had wandered from the library to what he assumed was an empty training room on the school grounds. The sounds of rapid fire French and fighting made him curious, it wasn’t an Akuma, there hadn’t been an alert so what could it be?
To say being Agreste and his fake girlfriend locked in an instance spar, one that seemed evenly matched. He could expect Agreste to be able to fight, the boy was in fencing after all, but not to this level and Mari… well that was unexpected.
To say he didn’t find their banter and technique interesting would be a gross understatement. He was starting to understand why Ladybug trusted Mari, that was until he heard “M’lady” and “Kitty” leave their lips. Things were clicking into place, it all made sense now. Damian felt like an idiot for not seeing it earlier, of course!
To say he was seeing both the heroes in a new respect for all they had to deal with in their regular lives and that not affecting their Hero lives would be putting it lightly. For Mari to be capable and cunning but also be able to hide her strength like it was second nature was something Damian wouldn’t admit but he found really attractive.
He found himself actually making an effort to be closer and nicer to her, and slightly to Adrien. He did this in his own Damian way, starting off small by calling them both by their first names and then slight nicknames, for example Marienette was now Mari. he learned more about their dynamic both in the mask and out, they were like siblings attached at the hip. Ready to throw down at the drop of a hat to help their counterpart.
To say Damian wasn’t prepared when Adrien invited him to spar with him and Mari was more true then Damian was willing to admit, they knew he knew didn’t they? “Wouldn’t want to leave out her boyfriend would we?” Adrien said with a wink leading him to the same room he had first spied on their spars.
Her swing to his head was barely dodged and he ducked out of the way just in time, “So when were you planning to tell me you knew?” Adrien stood off to the side making sure no one walked in like he had. It was just the two of them on the mat talking in English and sparing. “Well to be fair I didn’t know you knew,” his smirk didn’t last long as he had to do a backflip to dodge another kick coming his way.
They went back and forth for about 20 minutes before they were both tired out, Adrien only chiming in to encourage his “Lady”. So here they were both breathing heavily laid on their backs on the mat.
“You know you could be cute if you were more open, Sparing shouldn’t be how I get you to open up,” Mari was playful as she turned to look at the ten boy beside her.
“Oh just kiss already,” Adrien shouted from the side lines, this was something he had been waiting for since he saw the two togther. If Mari can get the Ice Princess Kagami to open up and be more herself Damian was a goner. Almost everyone eventually fell for the personification of sunshine that was Mari at some point, at least this one might actually have a chance.
“How ‘bout a real date first?” the gentle squeeze on his hand and content sound from the girl next to him brought a genuine smile to his face… maybe Grayson did have a point.
Studying Tips for Law Students
Before I started Law School, I really doubted myself. I knew memorization was a waterloo of mine and that I have really bad anxiety which made me constantly worry that I might not finish the course. I wish someone told me what to do.
But eventually, I got a hang of it. I figured out ways to study smarter and learned techniques to improve my reading, communicating, and writing skills.
I have a couple of Studying Tips I thought I could share with you today that might help you through law school. Here goes nothing.
1. Minimize distractions.
The first thing you should do, before anything, is to teach yourself how to focus.
When we’re focused, we understand what we’re reading faster and better. When you’re not focused and you still force yourself to read, you’re actually just wasting your time and precious energy. You might be better off sleeping or doing something more productive.
You can try the Pomodoro technique for short bursts of productivity and making sure that you are actually accomplishing things on time. The reward after every session is also important because it will help you unwind and program yourself to enjoy what you’re doing.
2. When in doubt, read. Not just some of it. Read it all, except when time restricted.
Your professors will definitely remind you time and time again to read the full text. They are not saying that to scare you or give you a hard time. They are constantly reminding you to do so because that is the only way you would understand and appreciate the contents and context of the law and/or the case.
“READ THE FULL CASE” As much as you can! And try to make your own digests to ensure that you have a good grasp of the facts, issues, and ruling. But don’t stop there. Read it twice just to make sure you’ve understood what you’ve read and that you didn’t just highlight stuff for the sake of it.
References to prioritize:
Codals or the Black Letter Law
Cases
Annotations
Your professor’s lecture notes
Reviewer (last resort)
When time is of the essence, try to plan out your readings and calculate how fast should you read for a certain topic or coverage. Try to be strict with this. You should also learn how to spot unnecessary information in the reading material. If the assigned topic is a substantive issue, you may consider skipping the procedural part.
3. Recall what you have read.
After a few weeks into class, I realized that it’s one thing to be able to read the coverage and it’s another to recite what you have learned without difficulty. We tend to bombard ourselves with information when we read again and again. Come recitation time, we say n number of “uhmm” or not have any structure to our thoughts. One way I was able to perform better during recitation is allotting time to recall the things that I’ve read. I’d spend thirty minutes to an hour just reciting back what I have learned about a certain topic or course outline.
It will also be a lot easier to always refer back to the table of contents or course syllabus. When you know and understand the structure of the reading material, you will process the information better and be able to incorporate the same when reciting.
Think of your brain as a computer software that needs a flow to perform commands. And like every software engineer, you’ll have to write them down. Get it? Writing the code. And you, writing your notes...
4. Have the discipline of a Lawyer.
It’s presumed that, as a holder of a bachelor’s degree, you have already figured out what study technique suits you most. But sometimes, what we thought works for us, is not right or enough for the demand of studying in Law School. Change is the only thing constant with the Law. And if you’re not willing to change for the better, you might just be wasting your time.
You have to tweak some techniques and be more strict with your studying schedule to master the law.
Law school is a place for the disciplined. And that, my friend, is something you would really have to develop. No buts or ifs.
If you are not willing to develop the discipline that it will take to survive Law school, maybe Law school is not for you. But if you’re someone who’s up for the challenge, then you will definitely have fun.
You’ll be learning a lot, that I am sure of. And it’s gonna be one hell of a ride.
I wish you (us) well in your Law School journey! God speed.
[Werewolf-Vampire AU -SEQUEL III: Hybrid Child and the Vampire Council- ]
by : Little1993lamb
for: Temperans-sama / @the-goddessfighter
Words count : 2260
Disclaimer: Gaman, the Batarou love child, is Original Character created by amazing @the-goddessfighter. Not mine, I just borrowed him temporarily for this story at her permission ;D
@koeharu @metalbatandzenko @dies-first @beautifulnightmareus @guppys-paw @ruby-ess
- III -
Eight years later, Gaman grew up to become a very healthy WereVampire child. Before Garou and Badd being together as lovers, nobody expected that werewolf and vampire could have mated and had a hybrid child together. Since Gaman was a baby, mainly he has vampire characteristics, except for the bright yellow gold eyes color or the abilities to eat meat that it mirrorred like what werewolf usually do, the traits that Garou had. So Badd had to cook meal for both Garou and Gaman (B: "No eating raw meat like your feral dad!", G: "But it's naturally delicious as what it is! Even more efficient when we go hunting animals: I'll eat the meat and you'll drink the blood or meat juice. Besides, you like it too much when I go feral--", B: *blushing* "Oh shush nonono, bad wolf! Gaman don't listen to your dad.", Gaman: "Are we still talking about eating, or is it something else?", G: *smirking with knowing looks*, B: *blushing INTENSIFIES*)
Also, Gaman could walking under the sunshine at the day without feeling slightly bothered by it, meanwhile Badd or Zenko can't even stand the sunrays over than 10 minutes without an umbrella or shades. As tame vampire clan members, they still can walking under sunlight at afternoon, just feeling uncomfortable with the sunburn and the high intensity of light. Different with more aggressive pureblood vampires who only could active at night or just stay indoor at day, unless they wear full-body suit to go outside. On Gaman's case, when at day, he's showed more behavior or signs as werewolf like his dad. That's why at the day Garou often asking Gaman to take a stroll together around their territory, sometimes also with other packs members, or even Badd who brought umbrella and shades if it's on hot sunny days.
Exception when at night, Gaman showed more behavior or signs as vampire like his father. This was Badd's chance to go hunting animal in the woods with Gaman, often Garou would come along too. Badd and Garou would introduced the types of prey animals to Gaman and teaching how to hunt them, have a picnic together because Badd can't do that at day, or just walking through the woods while enjoying the moonlight shower. If Badd is in the mood, he will take Gaman flying to the sky with him, considering Gaman doesn't have a set of wings yet (G: "Babe I wanna fly too! Take me into your arms and we'll be flying together.", B: "I can't even lift you, you're so damn heavy! And there's a reason why only Flying Foxes exist, not the FLYING WOLVES.").
Other than that, he still hadn't showed another traits. But for Garou and Badd it doesn't really matter, the most important thing is to keep Gaman stay healthy and to grow up happily with all the pack family members. Zenko adores his nephew and often teach him about classical music or the basic healer magics so he can use it for himself in the future. As homeschooling tutor, Tareo provide him a lots of important lessons and knowledges to Gaman, either from supernatural world or human world.
The other family packs members like Garou's werewolf friends and colleagues really fond of Gaman. For them it's quite lovely that a werewolf married to a vampire and have a child together, proving they can love each other despite the social stigmas. Hilariously, the idea of that even made some of Garou's friends dreaming to have an adorable vampire mate like what Garou did, they said Garou was so lucky to have a sweet Mate like Badd. No comments from Badd when Garou told him about this, just shake his head exasperatedly while Garou was laughing outloud.
On the other hand, Garou's subordinates totally doting on Gaman. They treated him like a little King, as he's their Big Boss' son. Gaman was spoiled rotten by his father's subordinates. At any chance they will let Gaman plays with them when Garou was busy on his Alpha Leader duty along with Badd on another werewolf's territory, or when there's diplomacy meeting on their house. It's quite funny to see a group consists of huge scary werewolves who seems very intimidating, but turned out they're just a bunch of kid-loving doting uncles and actual sweethearts. If Badd needs temporary babysit for Gaman when he had to go outside with Garou, either when on duty as co-leaders or more often when they wanna have "sexy times in the woods", everyone would fight for the babysitter position. Zenko is still the winner, though, cue the sad wolves noises.
Garou and Badd also take their turn to teach Gaman: Garou give his lesson of perfected werewolf martial arts to Gaman at the day, so they would training together on their backyard, in the woods, or in Bang's resident. If Bang missed his grandson so much he'd invite them all to come to his house, or even to have sleepover in there. Badd taught him about his basic vampire instincts for hunting prey animals at night in the woods, or sometimes also training Gaman to control his inherited Fighting Spirit when he used his dad's martial arts. Garou supervised their training so he could also correcting Gaman's techniques or just simply because he wanted to watch his Mate and his son bonding over training session.
After they finished learning, they will take a rest together on the riverbank, where they could watching the full moon and twinkling stars clearly from here, laying comfortably on the grass. Gaman would laying in the middle between both of his parents, they would be sharing some stories or stargazing while waiting their body recovered from tiredness.
Sometimes when Gaman feels sleepy and he closed his eyes for a while, he could listening the rustling sound of the grass when his parents sat up and moved closer to each other. Then there he heard his dad's voice whispering sweet nothings to his father, followed by slightly panicked sound from his father warned his dad to not doing it in front of their son (not doing what? what's going on? Gaman didn't understand!), finally there's a small wet smack sound with a sweet whimpering voice from his father. Curiously, Gaman take a peek briefly to know what their parents was doing. Oh no, they're making out again! In front of him! That scene made Gaman squirming uncomfortably and feels awkward, but he doesn't hate it. In fact, he loves that.
As a child, Gaman really loves both of his parents. For him, Garou and Badd are the most romantic couple in the world. Because even though his dad and his father are from different race and the world seems to hate them, by giving them bad fates or being ostracized by their society for committing forbidden relationship, their love still overcomes it all. Nothing could stop them. And Gaman is happy that he's become the fruit of their love, the proof that they love each other. As his payback for the happiness he received everyday in his life from them, Gaman will do anything to make his parents happy, too. He wanted to show that he really loves his dad and his father. He hopes that someday, he also could protect his family with his own power.
---------------------------
One day, when Badd still preparing to cook their dinner while watching Gaman playing with Garou at home, two messengers from Vampire Council comes to deliver a news. The news content was that Badd have to attend a trial by Elders Court because he violated the Vampire Codes by committing a forbidden acts with a werewolf and have a child with him. The messengers would escorted Badd to the Vampire Council Fortress, and Badd only could bring one more person as witness. If Badd isn't willing to surrender himself, they'd have to take Badd forcefully.
This angered Garou so bad he nearly attacked the messengers furiously on the spot if Badd didn't stop him first. Badd doesn't want to make the situation become worsened, even though he's also very mad about it. He know it must be Amai Mask's doing behind this, and some of the other pureblood Vampire Council members who sided with his clan.
So he asked Garou to trust him that he'll try to find the best solution in the court with Zenko, that he'll survive from his trial and come back home unscathed. He also asked Gaman to take care of himself while he's away. Before he goes with Zenko, Badd hugged Gaman, saying he loves him more than anything in this world and he's proud to have a wonderful son like him.
After that, he encircled Garou's neck and kissing him deeply, Garou also reciprocated with embracing Badd in his arms tightly, never wanting to let go. With their foreheads touching each other, they whispered their love vows and promises, that they will survive all of this and reunited together again. They shared the lingering looks with soft smile before Badd and Zenko, who were restrained by the messengers, get into the carriage and departed to the Vampire Council Fortress.
The night after Badd and Zenko departing, Gaman feels their home becomes very empty without his father and auntie's presences. Badd's delicious dinner cooking tasted so bland because the cook himself wasn't there, too. No scolding sounds from his father Badd, or cheery voices from Auntie Zenko during that night. Even his dad excused himself to go to his room first. Gaman curiously followed him quietly to know what his dad was doing in there.
Gaman found his dad holding his favorite knitted scarf, the first handcraft gift from Badd which he got after they're became Mates. Of course as werewolf he didn't need a scarf, but because it's a gift from Badd just for Garou, it becomes his precious thing. He often wearing it when he's on duty outside his territory, or made Badd wearing it too so he gets Badd's sweet scent on the scarf. Saddened at the reality that happening to them, Garou wrap the scarf around his neck and inhaling Badd's scent deeply.
Garou already missed Badd so terribly. He looked frustated restlessly from anger, helplessness, and sorrow, because this is the first time he got separated from Badd since they got together as Mates. Knowing his Mates in danger... Garou didn't want to imagine something bad happened to his Mates, his co-leader, his partner, his wife, his other half, his SOUL, his LOVE.
Didn't want his dad got sad, Gaman comes to hug him, assuring that they can still ask help from the packs and also Grandpa Bang. Because, family will stick together and helping each other, right? Gaman said Dad Garou wasn't alone, he has the whole family, friends, colleagues, alliances, and certainly Gaman, too. Surely they're willing to help Dad Garou. And never forget that Father Badd is strong person too, he'll never submit to anyone who's not his own family. So, Dad Garou must believe in Father Badd, he'll be fine until their reinforcement team coming to save him.
Hearing his son's brave words and saw there's Badd's spirit in him, Garou returned the hug and thanking Gaman for giving him courage to fight back. He'll ask everyone in the packs to join him on getting Badd back from that damned Council.
Saw his dad got fired up again like usual, Gaman nuzzling into his embrace happily, saying he wanted to help him saving his father along with him, fighting side by side. Smiling fondly, Garou ruffled Gaman's hair while kissing his forehead, answering him that of course he could join, as long as Gaman stay near him and not strayed far away from him towards the enemies' presence during fighting.
Gaman only hummed in agreement, can't wait for the day he could reunited again with his father. But for now it's time for them to rest, preparing their energy to fight on the next day. At that night in Garou's room, Garou turned into his WhiteWolf form so he could comforting Gaman in his sleep, cuddling his beloved son into his warm silky fur embrace.
--------------------------
The next day, Garou with all of his pack members, Bang with his still loyal followers, Bomb with his entire Alpha pack members, and also Gaman, ready to go towards Vampire Council together. Garou hoped it's not too late to save Badd from anyone who wronged him, and proved that the Werewolf tribes with Mates are not to mess with. Especially that cunning vampire bastard Amai Mask which he knows was the one who's responsible behind all of this mess. He's absolutely going to kill him for real this time. With a thunderous roar, Garou started to lead the whole werewolf packs alliance marching towards the Vampire Council where Badd waiting for his trial with Zenko.
After hours of travelling, now they're arrived in the front of Vampire Council Fortress, which heavily guarded by vampire soldiers. The plan for Garou and Gaman is to break through the horde of soldiers troops so they can breached the Fortress into the court room, while the other members from pack alliance keep the vampire soldiers outside the Fortress by fighting them. They must arrived into the court room before the trial ended so they can save Badd quickly as soon as possible. Gaman wont let anyone take his father from the family, or even separated him from his dad who loves him so much. He makes sure of it.
-TBC-
Notes:
Yess for the whole family bonding time! Especially when those three resting after training on the riverbank, also Garou and Gaman dad-son bonding time after Badd's departing!
And I think it's kinda cute for Garou wearing a handmade scarf from Badd. Imagine: a half naked werewolf wearing a soft wool knitted scarf in the middle of Alphas meeting.
The rest of Alphas guest here just thinking Garou has dual persona: as an intimidating powerful Alpha or as a loving husband and family man, at the same time. Or just plain dorky puppy for his wifey vampire Mate, showing how much Garou loves Badd 😆😂
The illustration for Gaman as WereVamp hybrid child was drawn by @the-goddessfighter , both in his normal form and in his awakening transformation form as WereVamp hybrid (he's so adorable, tysm Temperans-sama for make him exist in this AU, ilysm! 💖) :
•https://the-goddessfighter.tumblr.com/post/616156992348766208/
Gaman maybe still haven't transformed into his awakening form, but don't worry he'll make appearance in that awesome form on the sequel VI. Please wait for it patiently! 👀✨😉👌💕
And funny facts, I swear I actually don't know the exact plot of Twilight Saga stories! Just the crumbs of common knowledges from it, for I never read the novels series and only watched the 1st movie, lol. I'm so sorry if there are any similarities to them in this story, now that I re-checked my entire sequels I feel so embarassed aaaaa forgive meeee-- 😭😭😭
I didn't intend to make the similar plot like Twilight (in fact didn't even thought of that when writing), but I can assure you it'll have totally different outcome. Trust me! 😤👍
On the next part: Badd and Zenko's sibling moments the night before trial begins, and Badd's bittersweet past memories!
My Personal Experience With John Crestani’s Super Affiliate System
How It All Started
It all started on one weekend when I was scrolling on my Twitter timeline. My attention was drawn to this one retweet from one of my friends on Twitter. He had retweeted a tweet by John Crestani. I don’t remember much about what exactly the tweet was all about but it was something in the line of “financial freedom” and “making passive income.” I guess I was a little too excited to pay attention to the details.
So, I clicked on the link provided and found myself on what looked like a well-crafted landing page. On this page, John shared lots of information regarding a system that he had discovered and one that he believed could empower beginner and intermediate affiliate marketers.
I wasn’t new to affiliate marketing at that time. The first time I heard of it was back in 2014 when I was doing some online research on how to make money online. After sifting through dozens of scams, I finally managed to sign up for the Amazon Associate program.
Once my account was approved, I simply went to my back-end, picked a few banner codes and pasted them on my blog. At that time, I didn’t know much about targeting the right audience and the need for being niche specific.
So, as fate would have it, my affiliate marketing dream hit a snag. My account was closed within 90 days and that’s because despite delivering some clicks, no one was buying through my affiliate links. To cut the long story short, I completely gave up on the idea of making money online by getting random strangers to make purchases through some goddamn links.
I chose to stick to my day job which to be honest I didn’t like that much. But as any other person looking to pay the bills would do, I had to keep going to the office, deal with numerous client calls and sit in a dimly lit cubicle all day.
So, when I came across John Crestani’s tweet and eventually the landing page, my dream of being independent once again came back to life.
Who Is John Crestani
The reason John grabbed my attention is that he had a story that was almost similar to mine. He was once stuck in a boring day job but unfortunately, for him, he got fired without a clear exit strategy. I can only imagine if I was the one in such a situation. How would I pay my rent? How would I convince my daughter that there was no food in the house or money to keep the AC working?
But John somehow managed to go through it all, effectively building a $500k business from scratch. Having seen it all, John seeks to help you and me learn the tricks and techniques it took him years to master.
I really liked how genuine he sounded but, to be honest, I was still a bit skeptical. That’s because John kept talking about his current affluent life. I even peeped into his Instagram and Facebook pages and realized that he frequently posts photos of himself standing next to Lamborghini’s. Why do you need a Lambo to sell a $47 course?
I am not a fun of marketing tactics that involve showing off what one owns or drives. If anything, it’s always possible to rent a Lambo and fool people on social media that it’s all yours.
In my opinion, if John could spare us all the stuff about his personal life, he can be a bit more convincing and authoritative. Otherwise, one might mistake him for a scammer despite the fact that he’s selling a really good course.
How It Works
So, I started out by signing up for the Internet Jetset program. It’s a subscription-based service which goes for $47. This program comprises some awesome lessons for beginners. In particular, it walks you through some awesome ways to generate valuable traffic without spending a dime.
These are strategies that other marketers hardly talk about. And even if they talk about them, they hardly bother to get into the details as John does.
The lessons are presented in video format. John narrates everything using screen recordings. This makes his courses pretty easy to follow. In fact, you can do everything he says as he narrates to you and that’s because it’s possible to pause the videos and resume when necessary.
What I didn’t like, however, is that it’s not possible to “fast-forward” the videos. So, if you’re already familiar with whatever John is talking about at any given moment, you’d have no alternative than to still listen to it. This can be quite annoying and time wasting.
Also, I don’t know if it’s just me or that John talks really slowly. Some of the lessons could have been 30 minutes but he talks rather slowly and a good number of them go up to 45 minutes in length. The upside is that you get some highly detailed and in-depth training no matter your level of skills.
Also, the Internet Jetset courses are divided into tiny, little portions. Ideally, you should take 1 module per week meaning you’d need several weeks to finish the entire program. Fortunately, you don’t have to finish it for you to start making real cash. You can start using your skills to get the systems up and running. For instance, you can use the skills learned within the Google Free Traffic Module to tap into the power of SEO.
The Upsells
The Jetset is pretty affordable at $47 per month, so what’s the catch? Well, the catch is that you’ll constantly receive emails from John enticing you to buy one of the premium packages on offer. For instance, if you’re already enrolled in the Internet JetSet program, you’ll constantly be enticed to go for the Super Affiliate program which goes for close to $1,000.
There’s also the JetsetLIVE webinars package that goes for $97. You’ll also find the JetSet Xtreme Members course which goes for $187.
I accidentally subscribed to the JetSet Xtreme Members course when I clicked on the link out of curiosity. And instead of being taken to a check out page, I got a message reading “Thank you for purchasing the Jetset Xtreme Members” course.
My Thoughts on the JetSet Xtreme Members Course
This is a platform full of pre-recorded videos of other affiliate marketers who have used this system to successfully make money. The course also provides you with links to third-party tools that you can use to make purchases. At first, I thought these were free tools but upon clicking on them I realized they belonged to other companies and you had to pay up to use them.
So, in my opinion, while the JetSet Xtreme is full of value especially if you’re looking to learn from the experiences of other affiliate marketers, it doesn’t really provide you with free tools. Just a bunch of affiliate links to other services.
I did not find this part of the program to be worth the $187 they charge for it. And for that reason, I claimed my money back. Fortunately, John kept his word and I got back all the money I had accidentally spent on this upsell.
I really liked the fact that the company is made up of honest people. It’s rare to come across companies that are willing to refund money nowadays – so two thumbs up to the Super Affiliate System team.
My Thoughts on the $997 Super Affiliate System (SAS)
While the Internet Jetset program focuses on the free sources of traffic, the SAS shows you exactly what you need to do to leverage on paid traffic methods. In my opinion, the $997 you pay for this course is worth it but only if you’re willing to sit down and learn the tricks. It won’t work like magic.
You see, everyone can place an advert on Facebook, Instagram or even Google Adwords. But if you ask around, you’ll realize that most of those ads don’t convert. It doesn’t matter how much you invest in the course unless you really understand the psychology of the buyer, you’d end up making shots in the dark.
The good thing with paid traffic is that it works almost instantly. That’s unlike the free traffic methods which take months or even years to materialize. So, if you don’t have the time to build dozens of backlinks and implement other SEO tasks for your site to rank (which normally takes years), this strategy enables you to start making money immediately.
And the best part is that besides exposing you to the language of paid affiliate marketing, the SAS course also provides you with 3 core skills. These include:
Copywriting
Data analysis
Research
In general, the SAS is an 8-week course which comprises 50 hours’ worth of content. It also contains lots of additional resources that can help complement your unique strategy.
Week One – The System Setup
This section of the training mainly comprises stuff to do with creating a website, setting up a presell page and rolling out Facebook ads.
Week Two – Understanding the System
Introduces you to the core skills of online business. It also aims to help you unlock a super affiliate mindset so you can profit from different situations.
Week Three – Marketing Skills
How do you get people to click on your ads and convert? As we all know, it takes an expert to hack this. Luckily, those skills are provided within this section of the training.
Week Four – Facebook & Google Ads
Facebook and Google have more than 2 billion active users per month. So, if you were to get a piece of this pie, chances are that you’d make some pretty huge bucks as well. And that’s what John Crestani does in week 4 of his training.
Week Five – Native & YouTube Ads
Ever thought of leveraging the power of native ads? Basically, native ads are ones that are included within a media format. For instance, you can include such ads on your webpage content and so forth. Besides that, you’ll also get to learn how to do YouTube Ads and so forth.
Week Six – Scaling and Outsourcing
Once you have the skills needed to make the first dollars, you’ll need to find ways to grow and expand your trade. Using the tidbits shared in the 6-th week of this training, you’ll be able to outsource and automate quite a number of tasks so you can focus on growing your business.
Week Seven – More Ad Campaigns
Most people usually limit themselves to Google and Facebook. But did you know that there’s a lot of unused potential on platforms like LinkedIn and Bing? In this module, you’ll be able to learn about all that plus a lot more.
Week Eight – Implementing the System
If you’re wondering which ad network to join and which niche to embrace, this is the module you’ll need to take. It’s a highly advanced section of the training that helps you decide the direction you want your online business to follow.
My Results
After going through this program, I’d like to admit that I learned quite a lot. Most importantly, I was able to re-apply for the Amazon Associates program and got accepted. I have been making quite some bucks over the last few years. One of my sites rakes in $1500 while the other one brings about $2000 per month.
My goal is to scale these two sites up – I know there’s potential to make $10,000 per site (per month) with more content and a stronger SEO presence. But that might take time. For now, I appreciate the fact that the investment I made in the Super Affiliate System is now paying back.
Main 6 reactions to MC being brutally beaten by an abusive ex/psycho stalker. Either MC was caught off guard or just doesn’t have the energy to fight back...
TW: Abuse !
Asra
If you try and make some excuse, he sees right through you. You two have known each other for so long that it’s nearly impossible to pull fast ones on each other.
Heals you obviously and the entire time his heart is breaking as he sees what this person has done to you.
Probably thinking about what if you had been killed again and he just breaks down because he can’t bare the thought of losing you again. So you two take a trip to Nopal for a hot minute or maybe to your gate. Just anywhere but here.
I don’t see Asra as the person to retaliate? He strikes me as pretty pacifistic in most cases. But if he ran into them, he might make an exception and clock them.
Teaches you some protective magic though for fucking sure.
Nadia
First and foremost, she takes care of you. The best doctors are tending to your wounds and she refuses to leave your side for a few days. Will not leave your side for the first while but when you tell her it’s okay, she begins to resume her duties as Countess. However, she has Portia checking in on you regularly.
Would want them to hang.
However, as unfortunate as this is, she’s already implemented a system of law. So she has to uphold that as not to come off as a flop of a politician. Regardless of if you’re her beloved or not, she does have something of an image to uphold. (However don’t mistake that for her not giving the world up for you, if it really came down to it she would step down in a heartbeat for you.)
So if you’re stable enough and willing to do so, she’d want you to stand trial and send that fucker to the gallows.
Julian
If he still has his mark, then he’s absolutely healing you like that first so you’re 100% okay. That itself is just heart breaking for him because then he knows just what kind of pain you are in. Otherwise he’s jut going regular doctor on you but that still really hurts because he’s still got to see all your wounds.
Threatens to kill them but this is a hollow threat. Don’t think Julian has it in him to actually kill someone. I could see him knocking them around though.
Will not leave your side for some time, his clinic is closed, Asra is taking care of your shop. For a few days, it’s just you and Julian.
Teaches you some dirty fighting techniques he picked up as a pirate.
Portia
Will fight them, seriously, her and Mazelinka are going to beat them twice as bad as they beat you. Doesn’t matter if they’re twice her size, she’s ready to fucking go. Maybe don’t let her lmao.
Tells Nadia that she needs a few days off for a personal matter and doesn’t leave your side. If she confides in Nadia, I think a similar course of action would be taken with legal repercussions if that’s what you wanted.
If you didn’t want to go that route, she would 100% respect that. Even if she didn’t fully understand why you wouldn’t want that she knows it’s your choice and she’s there for you and whatever you want.
You aren’t allowed to lift a finger for some time, this woman is going to take such good care of you and make sure you know how fucking loved you are.
Insists you learn some self defense magical and otherwise. She doesn’t think she can teach you so she would ask Julian or Mazelinka to show you some stuff.
Muriel
An absolute pacifist when it comes to people. He’s a hunter, that’s different but I’m sure he has some sort of ethical code for that as well. But after what he’s been through and seeing you like this, oh man. That would reawaken a rage that he hasn’t felt in some time.
Seriously goes full mama bear on you, if he caught the person or saw them after the fact it would NOT be pretty. So I don’t think he would allow himself to be in a situation where he’d see that person because he doesn’t want to be blinded by rage and do something like that.
Would tend to your wounds and honestly not let you leave his hut for sometime, still in that mama bear state. It might seem overbearing but he’s doing this with a good heart.
Wants to teach you some self defense though because he knows he can’t force you to stay in his hut for long and he knows he can’t always be there to protect you.
He worries about you 100 times more now though whenever you leave and don’t come home around the same time.
Lucio
That man’s gunna gut them like a fish. Out of all of the LIs, he’s the one most likely going to resort to straight up murder. He’s blinded with pure rage and nothing you can say could stop him.
Look at him with teary eyes and tell him you need him. That’ll get some sense into him if you aren’t interested in them being murdered by his hands. He will put you before ‘avenging’ you. Stay with you for as long as you need blowing off any plans and commitments he has.
Unlike Nadia, he’s more willing to let go of responsibilities. And that’s not because he care more for you than Nadia does or prioritizes you more. They just have a different view on responsibilities.
Mercedes and Melchior are very concerned for you and stay by your side at all times. The only people they don’t growl at when approaching you is Lucio. If Lucio wasn’t so worried for you, he’d be a little jealous but he takes comfort in them protecting you.
