anyone here seen the show Resident Alien?

bc holy shit am I obsessed with the portrayal of 30-something women, their solidarity, feminism, friendship, and fun and self-expression! GODDD I did not realize how BADLY I needed to see a tv show actually depict (attractive but not "bikini models" by any means) adult (and admit they're adults, real adults not 20 yr olds) women as human beings with deep complex personalities and relationships, who really stand with each other despite being flawed humans who do sometimes hurt each other, who are silly and goofy and get into shenanigans bc oh my god WOMEN CAN STILL HAVE FUN AFTER TURNING 30.

Especially later in season 1 and in season 2 (I'm still on s2), there's just so much female badassery and solidarity that I love. there's also a gym workout scene in s2 with my favorite character D'Arcy and tbhhhh that scene is 😨🥵 Like, my wife said "this scene was definitely filmed by a lesbian, right?" 💀 It really did feel like celebrating an attractive woman build muscle without the typical male gaze-y lens. it actually focused on her flexion, facial expressions, sweat, flushing, yk, the things we are supposed to pretend women don't do even while vigorously exercising.

this same woman leads her friends on a drunken midnight raid of town hall where they review the town budget and discover they're paid less than the men. cut to the entire group of women (one of whom is the mayor's wife) standing in the mayor's bedroom in the middle of the night, standing over him and informing him "no, this isn't a nightmare, what the fuck is wrong with you, pay us fairly" like?? holy shit lmao. D'Arcy then proceeds to RENT A HELICOPTER to drop fliers all over town telling women about this and encouraging female solidarity in fighting back. this barely scratches the surface of her character's feminist heroics. in another seen she cuts the brakes on her best friend's abuser's truck and sends it down a hill in front of him, before telling him she'll happily kill him if he gets near her friend again. it's just so much fun to see. she also rescues herself and 2 others from a crevasse in the glacier by climbing 30 feet in a storm with a broken wrist. oh and shes a FORMER OLYMPIC SKIER bc fuck you

I've actually been very impressed with this show in a number of ways. they have a young girl character whose family is Muslim, and the writers seem to want to critique Islam while being aware that they have to avoid performative liberals picking up on this too much. so at first I was a bit 👀 thinking they were going a certain way with the character, but they ended up sneaking in a lot of critiques of Islamic patriarchy. they keep surprising me.

"You know, I can make a bomb out of that with enough batteries and wires." Chishiya mused, a hint of pride in his voice. You froze midway through your actions, the cola can you were holding suspended in midair, inches from your lips. "That's very cool of you, Chishiya."

"Yeah," he hummed. He slid his chair closer to you, making the old floor of the abandoned apartment creak. You'd be lying if you said his closer proximity didn't make your heart flutter.

Uncharacteristically, he slid an arm around you, seemingly aiming to land on the armrest on your other side. As soon as his palm hit the wood, it gave in with a sharp snap, making the blond jolt forward. His chin hit your shoulder, sticky soda liquid spilling as your arm jerked alongside it.

For a split second, he looked mortified, eyebrows raised slightly and his mouth agape. Quickly enough, he caught himself and slid back into his stoic expression. He cleared his throat, "I just have to cut that top part open. The wiring goes in and then the pull-ring after. It's really easy—I can teach you if you want."

His breath was on your skin, deep brown eyes burning into yours. When they're close enough, his eyes no longer looked cold nor judgmental. They were soft, gentle—they were windows to the vulnerabilities and brilliance hidden beneath his hard shell. His pupils seemed to dilate when he whispered, glimmering with wonder under the candlelight.

"You're really pretty."

Your breath hitched in your throat. Eyebrows raised, you let out a hum in surprise. What has gotten into him today?

"Sorry?" You couldn't help but smile. It was an awkward one, given how you were unused to interacting with him like this, but a smile nonetheless.

His arm was still around you, limply laying on the side of the chair before he decided to press it onto your waist. For the first time in his life, Chishiya's fingers trembled. He was praying you wouldn't notice the almost imperceptible way his fingers shook over the fabric of your shirt. You pretended not to notice.

"I think your lips are really pretty," he said as a matter of fact.

He didn't know why you were looking at him as if he just blew someone's head off. Truthfully, it wavered his confidence and he started to rethink his approach. You still hadn't said a word for you were trying to figure out if this was really happening, but he mistook this silence for rejection.

"I'll uh—" he moved away from you, standing up to go towards your makeshift bed of papers and pillows. The bed in the apartment came with questionable stains, and you were adamant about never touching it.

"Chish-"

"I'm going to sleep," he grumbled, frustrated at himself for failing at something he considered to be simple. Why was it suddenly so difficult to talk to you?

Whatever fire Kuzuryuu ignited in him has certainly dampened a bit. He felt defeated—stumped—that the perfect plan he concocted didn't pan out the way it usually would. He thought that now was the best time—he had just came off from beating a king, you found a place the King of Spades seemingly hasn't touched yet, and the both of you managed to unearth unexpired strawberry candies that actually tasted good. Today was supposed to be lucky.

He'd thought of all the variables, and processed the multiple backup plans he had up his sleeve, yet when that fucking armrest broke, they all went down the drain. He was curled up in a ball, back facing toward you. He didn't want you to see him in such an embarrassed—pathetic—state.

"Humans aren't formulaic," he thought.

Sighing, you stood up. You blew the candle, the resulting wisps of smoke trailing up towards the ceiling. Chishiya lay motionless, and if you weren't any wiser, you would've thought that he had actually fallen asleep already.

You sat crossed-leg next to him. The plastic of his earphones glinted under the moonlight, peeking through strands of bleach-blonde hair. You gently plucked the bud out and the blown-out bass of a heavy rock song greeted you. He tilted his head slightly in your direction.

You leaned down, bringing your lips closer to the curve of his ear. "I think you're pretty too."

For a beat, he was unresponsive. Then, he rolled onto his back, now facing you fully. His lips quirked up, giving you the smallest of smiles. He propped himself up on his elbows, cocking his head to the side. It's almost as if it was a challenge for you to continue.

"I don't know what got into you, but I do know that it gave me the courage to tell you this," you bit your lip. "I have feelings for you."

He cocked an eyebrow up, pleasantly surprised and almost in a teasing way. So the plan did work. Not in the way he thought it would, but it still came to fruition.

Your noses were almost touching. You wanted to close the gap, to meet his chapped lips that vaguely smelled of strawberries—he swore he wasn't using lip balm but you begged to differ. He was yearning for this as well. God, he was so mesmerized by you.

So pretty, so pretty, so pretty.

"If you're having trouble with getting the lid off, I can always help you with some pliers I found."

"What are you talking abou—is this about the fucking bomb again?"

He cut you off, finally pressing his lips against yours. Snaking his hand behind your head, he pulled you closer, deepening the kiss. You still hadn't quite figured out the intricacies of his mind. His behavior was sometimes erratic—although he was calm and calculative, he can also be unpredictable and warm.

There was a multitude of thoughts running through your mind, the loudest one being the drive for the both of you to make it out, to survive. And without saying it, you knew he wanted the same thing.

so the power dynamic between price and gaz has the potential to be sssoooo hot to me, but it doesn't quite Click in the way i was expecting tbh? it took me a while to think of why but i think it's because gaz like... has too much of a spine

like okay: no matter how ooc it might be, in my head soap is disgustingly easy for ghost. would do anything he says, no matter how much he doesn't want to. but gaz feels like he's more likely to say no, to stand his ground and put up a fight

which totally makes the potential toxic dynamic between he and price way more interesting. price would have to use manipulation and more subtle methods to get gaz firmly in the palm of his hand, where ghost just has to shove soap hard enough in the direction he wants, yk?

and like. i love that. older man in power seeing this younger man and molding him slowly but surely into the exact shape he wants, doing it slowly and carefully enough to make sure he doesn't even realize what's happening (because the younger man would hate it). that bit where gaz questions what they're doing and price basically says "be okay with it or get out of my sight" despite gaz clearly being uncomfortable? ohhhhh there's something delicious there

here's the problem: if you've read anything i've ever written ever, you know it's mostly porn. i'm not very good at writing plot, and it's something i'm trying to work on in the depths of my google docs, but i know what my strengths are - sex scenes. in my ghoap fics, that's easy. ghost noncons soap, usually forcefully. but with the dynamic price and gaz need? a fic for them (in my mind) needs way more focus on plot and the way price is manipulating gaz

that being said, if i had the patience? and the confidence in my writing? these are the fics i'd write for pricegaz:

cult leader price x undercover cop gaz. price knows gaz is a cop as soon as he comes to their little town, but gaz thinks he's still undercover. i think i'd have price slowly coax gaz into his viewpoint, drawing him closer and closer to him (with the added bonus that he doesn't even have to be the one to cut gaz off from the outside world). i think eventually gaz would come to a Sharp Realization, and price would be forced to.... extremes to keep him. i think it would be very hannibal/will, with gaz trying to deny that he's fallen to price's level but eventually being forced to confront the fact that he doesn't really want to turn price in anymore

maybe something similar to ruyfylb - maybe truck driver price and his favorite lot lizard, gaz? a consensual exchange but gaz would definitely not be prostituting himself if he didn't have to, and he's not great at pretending to enjoy his time with price (which is what price really enjoys)

fisherman price x selkie gaz. idk the intricacies of this one, and you could totally make it nikgazprice, but i'd like to see jailer price who is resolute in his unwillingness to let gaz go while still trying to keep him happy. he's stern and strict but he does try to make gaz comfortable, yk? i think that dynamic would be interesting, but very slow since gaz isn't the fieriest of characters. i do not excel at slow lol

historical au - gaz has a distant relative who's just died and he inherits a title with no warning. when he travels to the country estate that's his new home, he meets the head servant john price. you could have price teaching gaz how to be duke (or whatever the title is) and keep that power dynamic, while also getting to lowkey have rich boy x mean older man smut. so like. win-win. ((just think of price bending gaz over and spanking him or railing him while having him recite his paperwork out loud to make sure he's reading....))

just saw a take so irritating….. a post waxing poetic about how tommy is kind about buck being nervous and gentle and patient with buck’s rambling and willing to just listen and that makes him perfect for buck etc etc….. soooooo eddie? that’s literally what eddie does in canon?? why is this fandom suddenly kicking eddie to the curb and pretending his friendship with buck is just surface level coworkers and the last 5 seasons don’t exist, but his relationship with tommy is this deep meaningful built up thing where tommy is the perfect guy!! why are they making eddie’s personality and the way he treats buck all about tommy instead ahhhhh i’m going mad

Honey, something I learned is that people who wobblify Buck, make him this baby who has never done anything wrong in his life and needs to be protected and cuddled, don't really see Eddie for who he is. They wanted Buck to be in a grumpy/sunshine relationship so bad they made Eddie this broody, uncommunicative, bad at love person that's just not who he is, and now they can project that into Tommy while making Eddie seem like a horrible friend to justify jumping the ship when Eddie has done nothing Buck love Buck since he met him. Eddie was repeating Buck's facts back to him 2 episodes in, we have MULTIPLE instances of Eddie being the only person paying close attention to Buck while he rambles (I actually have a set on that that I keep forgetting to finish), and yeah, Eddie is more teasing about it, but it's not like Eddie is ever mean about it. I think there's a portion of the people who are this aggressive about Buck and Tommy are just grabbing on to whatever m/m couple the show puts in front of them, and look, not saying I'm anti Buck and Tommy, I'm sure I'll enjoy Buck stumbling through this is this whole first queer romance way, but if you put me to vote "new guy who makes Buck flustered" vs "Buck's literal partner of years", I'm not voting Tommy, yk? Eddie has proved over and over how much he loves Buck and you can even argue that the way Tommy knows how to defuse/reassure Buck before the kiss is because of things Eddie told him, because we don't see Buck with Tommy alone besides the hangar and no one would catch on with Buck's abandonment issues that fast. Love that Buck seems to be in a romantic relationship with someone who's kind to him, considering his past, that's a HUGE win, but they have been building Buck and Eddie for 6 seasons, to say they're not it for each other is just wrong. But honestly, you should protect your peace and blog the tags. You can even block words so if people are bad at tagging you still won't see it, and just block and move on, is what I'm doing when I see a take that makes me realize me and someone fundamentally see the show in too different ways. The blacklist and block buttons are your friends.

K: What’s the angstiest idea you’ve ever come up with?

I feel like angst is my wheelhouse, my main inspiration, my true writing love, so this is hard to answer lmao.

Overall it's proooobably a Berserk fic idea I had which was an AU where the darkest most fucked up moment in canon didn't happen; instead there's a long drawn-out plot where Guts the protag becomes a monster, Griffith the other protag is traumatized as hell after a year of torture, they're obsessively in love and it's fucked up, they conquer a kingdom together in some very dark and ruthless ways, and it ends with Griffith realizing he has to keep going and expanding the kingdom to pursue his dream and instead goading Guts into killing him. If done right it would be worse in some ways than canon - the slow creeping dread of things getting worse and worse and more fucked up, eg. Casca would get a happy ending though lol.

For Mash... I have some subtler angst ideas along similar lines to stuff I've already written, but probably the most overtly darkficcy idea I have that I mmmmay one day post is one where Frank happens to get proof that Hawkeye and Trapper are fucking, and stumbles into blackmailing Hawkeye into sex. Though that would have a hefty dose of black humour too, since it's Frank, especially Frank from Hawk's bitterly scathing pov. But yk, still fucked up and dark and angsty.

L: What’s the weirdest AU you’ve ever come up with?

AUs on the other hand are not my wheelhouse because I'm not creative lol so hmm... maybe the vampire AU idea I had for Mash? I wrote like 5 pages of it at one point and probably won't finish it but it's an idea and it's kinda weird. Basically Trap and BJ are vampires, Hawkeye is someone who has magically fast-replenishing blood as a result of having been fed on habitually in the past (he dated a vampire and it's a perk), so he's drafted in the dual role of surgeon and vampire food. Something about the army treating people as commodities, and also vampires fucking while feeding because duh.

M: Got any premises on the back burner that you’d care to share?

One I don't think I've chatted about with you before, is one where Hawkeye pretends he lost a bet and crossdresses for a day when he discovers that it's one of Trapper's major turn-ons, even though he doesn't see the appeal himself. Sort of a combination historically grounded discussion of androgyny, and just plain kink. Inspired by seeing a lot of fandom talk about and portray Hawkeye as like, blushingly nervous/awkward about crossdressing/femininity (either as a gender awakening thing or just as a cute awkward thing) and wanting confident Hawkeye who has already had all his awakenings and just has fun with it.

U: A pairing you might like to write for, but haven’t tried yet.

I mean, yeah, for sure -- it's not so much a case of belief for him as it is direct fact that undead exist and they threaten the sanctity of life that he holds dear. Ghosts are just one of many kinds.

Specifically though, in Mio's experience ghosts are usually dissatisfied souls who can't return to their bodies. The 'hierarchy' of life in his mind is simple, there are four groups -- the gods, the ruling family, the blessed dead, and everyone else -- who maintain a certain balance in the world. This balance is imperative to the continuation of life in whatever form it takes. Pretty basic way to boil down the whole culture, but that's the gist of it, and it's why death is so sacred to him.

When you're born, your only guaranteed destination is death, the life you follow between those two points has to bring you to a state of harmony for your death to be blessed, and for your spirit to rest eternally. It's why he's so afraid now that he knows his father had him resurrected, because for him the only 'available' end is yk, basically endless torment, regardless of what harmony he finds in life now. Which is possibly a pre-emptive ghostly experience.

I think they also had issues with grandpa Basekh tho, bitch did not rest easy. i think papa basekh was hundo percent haunted and yk what is silent in the father often speaks in the son etc and so on and so forth

🌙 MOON - what is your oc's greatest wish? how far are they willing to go for it?

god this really changes daily. sometimes it's selfish, he wants to be plucked from the mess of Talisman and squirreled away into a life where he doesn't have to care about the people around him so much. sometimes he wishes Onuris would appear and sort his problems out with blunt force like he usually does, or for Shadiya to sweep away the troubles with a flick of the wrist and a well-placed word. occasionally, he wishes that Amun had simply never bothered to bring him back. these are all fleeting and impossible and he doesn't hold onto them for very long, so the willingness isn't there to see them through.

however, most of the time - and this is probably the loudest wish despite his indifference to the world - he just wants to see Akhenaton in Pelor's light again. he isn't particularly bothered how that happens, only that it does, and i think the desperation of the Shadowfell has finally pushed him to the brink of 'by any means necessary' and he's all but promised his soul to a demon prince, which, yk, i feel is a pretty big hint as to how far he's willing to go. right now, he's worthless, so anyone that wants him? they can have him, because as far as he's concerned he's robbing them blind. bargain of the century.

the desperation. he knows his composure is slipping, people are starting to ask questions - and zinnan knows something of the bargain he's made, which might be fuelling his sudden amicability towards them :) can't outwit the fey when their entire language is bargains and trades, so best to get them onside while they're open to it.

the recent scolding from pelor also doesn't sit well. it's the first time i think he's been faced with divinity that has been wrong. he didn't like it. you know when you really trust someone and you make a decision that's a bit like, "they'll understand why i'm doing this!" but turns out they actually don't and they are livid with you and you feel your trust just break a little bit??? something something pretend to throw the ball for the dog so many times and it'll bite your hand instead something something

anyway he's not telling anyone about that for as long as he lives. embarrassing.

i think Dyn is very much a pragmatist but given that he himself has an affliction of a supernatural nature, he finds it hard to argue that ghosts can't exist. i also think he kind of subscribes to the idea that the echoes and spirits of people can and do exist long after they are gone -- the land swallows them up, drinks them in and keeps them flowing through its rivers, spits them out into the ground, enables them to dig roots deep in its earth and punch their souls through the soil into plants and trees and even animals.

he's always had this idea, because that's all the land is - life cycle upon cycle, things that feed into other things, everything is connected in some way. the natural order dictates that energy is never lost, just displaced and distributed. therefore, death can consume a physical body, but not the energy contained within it. that must go somewhere to feed something else, eventually.

i also wonder whether he thinks this way as a bit of a comforting story to himself. he lost his mother in a way that will never offer him closure -- she was swallowed up by the Chionthar not far after it cuts through Iriaebor, after a violent and terrifying hunt in which they were the prey for a pack of enthralled werewolves. even after he was turned, he stalked the river for any sign of her body or possessions, but never found anything. and in a way, never being able to bury her and put her to rest kept his grief 'living' - so every river he crosses, every brook or stream or creek, the tributaries that breathe life into faerun, he imagines her spirit calms the waters for a moment to let him pass.

so maybe he would say that ghosts do exist, just not in the way most people picture them.

honestly, just freedom. like, his childhood 'dream' was just to live in a cottage by the river, totally self-sustaining, maybe with a dog, and no input from society. just peaceful isolation with a garden in which his life grows.

but as he travelled from village to village with his mother and started making connections with people, he began to change that dream a little. he didn't crave isolation at all, he just had trouble reconciling the pressures of society with his own personal freedom, and the easiest solution was to cut people out entirely.

so the dream continued to morph into something else as he got older, as he established more meaningful friendships and relationships, as he listened to his mother's songs and wrote some of his own - he began to see the joy of living as freely as he did was not so much in the danger that nature offered, but in the unrelenting hope that people ground between gritted teeth to face another day within it. he loved it. he loved them. so the lonely cottage on the river became a homely house in the lower city, walls laden with art and windowsills overflowing with greenery, and room enough for friends.

then, when he's turned into a lycan against his will and forced into a subservient role for some considerable time, with a master hellbent on stepping on everyone else to ensure his own survival and freedom, that kind of puts a big dent in that dream. the gentle notion of a peaceful life feels like it's been violently ripped away from him and in its place is grief for his mother and just hunger, hunger, hunger.

he has a lot of trouble reconciling the loss of his freedom and even into the beginning act of BG3, it's all he can think about. there's no homely house or even a lonely cottage - he dreams of that endless hunger and the master who cursed him, he dreams of sleeping in the cold and of whip-marks on his shoulders, neck rubbed raw from a collar that said he belonged to someone else. it's unpleasant, and bitter, but i think being surrounded by others whose autonomy was also taken from them kind of gives him some grounding. he is willing to give them a way out, so why won't he offer himself the same chance? eventually, he works through it alongside his friends, and it forms a huge part of his understanding of astarion which, rather sweetly (or maybe rather monstrously) builds a strong foundation for their friendship and subsequent relationship, and eventually, he allows his dream to return now that he can see a future in it.

i think he struggles with revealing his lycanthropy - not so much because it's horrifying, he knows people have likely seen worse, but because it's just so intrinsically linked to his loss of autonomy and freedom. he feels vulnerable with it, even though he's physically at his strongest in his shifted form, and it's probably one of the main things that causes a lot of tension in the party early on.

I am too and I've been thinking of shifting to PJO/HOO (I'd probably go with HOO cause of the loml Leo) but idk what time I should shift to like should I shift to the time they were battling gaia and become the 8th part of the prophecy? but that would mean I'd have to go through Leo's "death"(yk when he rescued calypso and everyone thought he's dead and all that), and I kinda don't want to battle giants that much. Or should I shift to after that, to the time of trials of apollo? And I don't want leo and calypso together (I'm too in love with him I can't see him dating calypso) so I'd have script leo rescuing her but only liking her as a friend? this is a very good question!! also dw I'm fine getting asks about shifting I'm just keeping it on the down low a little yk this got kinda long so I tried to put important stuff in bold lol

the short version is this is ultimately compeltely and entirely up to you (ik that doesn't sound very helpful though lol) and the best shifting advice I can possibly give you is listen to your instincts!!!! listen to your higher self!!!! follow what feels right and stay away from shifttok!!!!!!

the other important thing I've been thinking about recently is how important it is to not over script, and how important it is to keep your details realistic. Like if you're scripting that you have a baby, scripting that the baby never ever cries or needs to be fed or needs a diaper change isn't a good idea bc that's not how babies work, and part of the fundimental experience of raising a baby is soothing them and feeding them and caring for them. You can script that you have a very happy baby and you always know what they need and you're always able to sooth and comfort and take care of them, but completely scripting out fundimental stuff like that detracts from the experience and ends up making it harder to connect to your reality. you can minimize things that you're not as much of a fan of or stuff that sounds inconvenient, but romanticizing the boring and mundane and annoying and in between parts is actually really really helpful for connecting and making things feel real (bc they are)

as for when you should shift to, I personally am a fan of the post HOO pre TOA era where the gang's all together and things are finally quiet at camp for a while. The fact that you're in that reality at all means it's immediatley going to be different/better than the reality without you just bc you're there. you could always script something in along the lines of you and Leo having a thing, and you're the reason he leaves C*lypso and her shitty little island. honestly I feel like Leo would still rescue her bc he feels bad for her and he's just like,, a good person?? I think the look on Cally's face when he drags her ass back to camp immediatley and reunites with you would be hilarious. you could also throw in that he lets you know on the downlow that he's doing something risky but it's to save Jason and your friends and everyone else, so you know he'll be fine and can comfort your friends when they're worried. honestly I'm a slut for a good post heroic "don't ever scare me like that again (that was super brave and I'm really proud of you and glad you're okay)" moment so do with that what you will.

you can also make a domestic dr with Leo if you just want some chill time with him. college/leo in his MIT era is a favorite of mine, along with quarantining together and infinate beach vacation.

also yes you absolutely can age yourself and other people up or down depending on when you want your dr to be!! some things that really seperate college au/older Leo from canon/teen leo for me are details like occasional stubble, buff arms n chest, a teeny tiny bit taller, and generally a little more confident and self assured.

yes I do use a script!! here are some of my dos and don'ts of scripting but remember to follow your instinct!!!! and that you don't NEED a script to shift!!!! STAY AWAY FROM SHIFTTOK!!!!!!!!

most of my scripting is through pinterest, playlists, and making outfits on shoplook bc those are the fastest ways for me to feel plugged into my dr. I'm a little dyslexic so visual stuff works best for me, and I'm really into fashion and outfits/moodboards, so that's one of my favorite things to do. another thing I like to do is make like,, what's in my bag collages almost?? like I'll pick out a bag or backpack and pick out everything that's in it, including stuff like hand sanitizer scents, lip balm, recipets, bobby pins, gum flavors, and pen colors. usually when I type out scripts, it's either for organizing stuff I might not remember off the top of my head (like the order and release dates of movies in an actor dr, or discography and track lists and lyrics in a singer dr). ANOTHER THING I LOVE TO MAKE FOR DRS IS TO DO LISTS!!!! I use to do lists all the time here, so I make little to do lists for my drs as something to ground me when I get there. It's usually a combination of kiss this person, give this person a hug, tell this person I love them and my friend (from my cr) says hi, and tasks associated with that dr. Like in a parent dr my to do list might be kiss my spouce, pick up the kids from school, make dinner, and help the kids with their homework. Again, romanticising mundane things helps a lot, and romanticizing mundane things in your CR is both good practice to get in the habit, and makes your CR feel as special as your DRs.

hey! it's been a while since i asked anything on here, but i just had a few curiosities and hypotheticals that i was wondering about, so i figured i'd actually ask them on here for once ^^

1. (// slight atol spoilers) would thaw!george be like atol!george in that he's also actually the cc? and if so, why hasn't XD gotten bored of him yet in this timeline? is george even going to be in thaw? i feel like he will be eventually, solely bc he was also included under thaw in that one age post of yours, but idk maybe i'm wrong.

2. how did soot magically dip? right now i can only think of ender pearls and transport portals as the ways people can teleport to places in your world, but it hasn't been confirmed what he actually did in thaw. are there any other ways? did he use a transport portal, some kind of stasis chamber(seems unlikely, but i'm covering all my bases yk), or something else? also, i don't think i asked this before, but what is a transport portal? how would you go about obtaining one? and how does it actually work? does it need runes, bc i think i recall tbom!wilbur mentioning rune work when he got one from techno? if so and if that is what they used, did philza help with those ones too?

3. what did philza see in tommy in the latest theseus' home chapter? because it definitely isn't like what q sees. we saw tbom!philza look into wilbur's soul that one time, and it was very different from what q sees. like, ig it still showed the danger that the dark blue would show q if he knew about the significance of the magic color, just in a different, more explicit and detailed way for philza. but what was it like for thiloas(is that the right abbreviation?)!tommy? how is thaw!theseus' soul different from tbom!wilbur's? from thaw!tommy's? how does philza even peer into people's souls to begin with, like, does he have to stare into their eyes, or just stare at them in general (i'm sticking w staring so much bc of how big of a deal it seemed to be in theseus' home, maybe that's misguided of me though idk)? also why did he only get to see tbom!wilbur's soul for the first time in that moment when he looked into his eyes, what was stopping him before?

4. i also have some follow-up questions on illusions... like, what does it feel like to be under an illusion? is it uncomfortable at all? weird? and also what are they like when the illusion is of a different species? obviously, thaw!soot was just pretending to be himself but younger so we didn't see this with him, but if some hypothetical human were to put on an illusion of, say, fundy, would they get his heightened hybrid senses and the ability to shift as well, maybe by using up extra magic? or do they still only have human abilities and just look like they don't to the outside world? just how similar are illusions to the sky gods changing the ccs to be more physically and physiologically similar to their characters (besides the latter not requiring any runes or magic)? and this may be a stupid question, but are there any limits to animal/mob illusions? like, would i be able to be under the illusion of just a normal fucking bird if i wanted to? but then, if there are limits, then where's the line? would people be able to pretend to be sam or slime, or would they be immune to that because they're technically mobs too?

i have so many more, but i think these are the least spoilery to ask on here, so i'm saving the rest for later/elsewehere. feel free not to answer things though if you don't want to give something away, idm :]

To answer your questions:

1. This is a thing of the way I write my version of George's character, he's always both c! and CC! because of the fact that XD found it interesting to see what would happen if they did so. (Though in contrary of AToL, George isn't aware that what's happening is not only incredibly vivid dreams)As for why the Guardian hasn't gotten bored yet, that's because Chaos keeps happening, in AToL thing resolved in a manner that turned the dsmp story in a much less Chaotic story for XD's tastes, while in thaw the story just followed canon(of course with my adjustments to make the events realistic). George will appear once Quackity's ex-fiances show up.

2. Soot used a Transport Portal to leave LN. As for other instant transport methods there really aren't many in my universe, because the ones that exist are very complicated on the magic aspect and also if one gets their rune work wrong can be dangerous.

A Transport Portal is a crystal that has been bound to a location using rune work and using some slightly modified runes similar to those that allow opening portals to the nether dimension, it transport people instantaneously to the location the crystal was bound to once it's shattered.

Usually their are made by those that will use them if they are good with rune working but one can buy an unprimed crystal from an Alchemist (though here come in play the possibile danger of the alchemist wasn't too good with the runes).

Wilbur made his own with some help to Philza to pour enough magic into it(since he couldn't deplete is own for Illusion purposes)

3. For the first three questions you'll have to wait and see, sorry ^^". As for how Philza peers into people souls, it's an ability of his coming from his Angelhood, Angels always see people less like they appear physically and more in the way their soul looks. But because Philza is a Fallen Angel, he has lost the ability to see them all the time, instead he has to look into someone's eyes to be able to.

In TBOM, the reason why he hadn't done so before was because he was in denial over the fact that seeing souls was not as natural for him anymore.

4. Illusions are pretty interesting and as for what you can cloak yourself as there is virtually no limit, though as it is an illusion everything you can do in your 'new' for his limited to what you could already do normally. So for example: if you cloaked yourself in the Illusion of a bird, you'd look like a bird to everyone around you, yes, but you can't chirp if you don't already know how, nor you could fly or stand on a thin branch as your body weight is unchanged and people are much heavier than birds.

As for the question about if someone pretended to be Fundy, that is an interesting one, because virtually if they are good enough with runes(and not scared of the pain) they could make one complex enough to make it seem like they are shapeshifting... But that would require an unnatural amount of magic to keep up so it's practically impossible.

As for how it feels, being cloaked under an Illusion, feels kind of as if you had a film over your skin, it isn't uncomfortable per se but it isn't the most comfortable experience.

I feel like crying right now 🫠. I had a rlly bad week and it involved me having a mental breakdown and having to pretend like I wasn't crying when my parents came in my room. Not trying to trauma dump but I was js stressed over school assignments bc I usually never have trouble doing it and my room was very dirty and I had laundry to do and I'm sick and my parents think somethings going on with me because I was late to school three days in a row??? My dad literally said "What's going on with you lately?" While he was dropping me off and I started tearing up so I js got out of the car before I started bawling. My very best friend is ignoring me for some reason??? It usually only lasts like a few hours but this has been going on since Thursday and we still have not said a word to each other.

We're a trio w another girl but the other girl (let's call her v) has other friends and her main friends were a year older but they graduated so now we're a trio. I kind of didn't like her bc I let her rant to me when we were becoming friends but then she got too used to it and I became her therapist which I would be fine with bc I love her but she would never listen to me when I was talking and then when asked she would js giggle and say it's bc of her 'adhd' but then she would say she didn't have adhd too?? Like girl make up ur mind. But then I wouldn't let myself be walked over so I confronted her and she said ok I'll try to be better. Lately she has gotten a lot better and she's becoming a very important person in my life but it's usually always been me and my bsf right? We had school the next day, and she ignored me, so I went to my other friends bc I have more of them in my classes than she does, and I had a pretty good day apart from her.

Anyways I forgot what my point was again 😭, but oh yeah today I woke up early to go see the eclipse w my cousins and when I came home I went to get starbucks w my dad and then showered (I had not showered in a while, stinky ik 😪((tbh I think it was the dirty room and clothes that was depressing me)) ) and then I cleaned my room and moved things around. (It was a deep clean day) and I went to go do laundry at my aunties. (I had to put two loads in bc I had a lot of clothes 😭) anyways it is currently 8:30 pm where I am and I js got home bc I had to walk home w my bin.

I come home to my little ipad kid cousins in my room on my bed (I didn't have bedsheets on bc I washed them) they had dirty bare feet and they were jumping on my bed and I had left a drawing on my bed and they crumpled it all up. My aunt js leaves them to do whatever they want bc the older one has autism so that's an excuse apparently??? (Don't come at me she's not a very good mom in that department)((wow that sounded judgy)) also I can't tell them to go away or not jump on my bed because then my parents are gonna make it seem like I'm being dramatic in front of my whole family (my aunts and uncles are here) also I'm Mexican btw so it's a very big deal. Also if I tell my aunt she's gonna be rlly sorry and make me feel guilty ab it and in the end they're gonna end up on my bed either way. Also ik my cousin is also having a bad week so ik small things will provoke him. So yeah 😁 I also have a class tmr at 6:30 pm for two hours and it affects me a lot bc then I feel out of it when I have to come home and get ready for school on Monday.

I really just don't know what to do, yk.

So, ever since I was younger I kinda knew I liked girls (as a girl) and i always thought I was bi bc I'm still attracted to men yk. Like I think some anime characters are hot or whatever.

And then there was another guy. And he asked me out, and he's so sweet. Like SO sweet. And so romantic. He should be everything I want, yk.

Hello! I'm writing a story where the protagonists are gods and I wanted to ask you what activities they could do to pass the time (both magical and otherwise). In particular, I was very inspired by Greek mythology, but the important thing is that they are activities in which technology is not involved

okay so the idea of magical stuff coming into play, but more along the lines of like, gods casually creating entire plants and animals just for the craic? like, character A sees a human complaining of a bug bite, and B is smug bc B created that specific breed of insect, but then A just looks them dead in the eye and snaps their fingers to make a type of plant that acts as an antidote to that mild venom. oh!! oh or maybe a human and a god fall in love and the god creates a flower that matches the exact shade of blue in their eyes or smth, and the human tells people about it and that's like. the origin story of a bluebell or something??

also, bearing in mind i just finished watching the sandman, i am OBSESSED with the idea of the kind of relationship that might be had between humanity and gods/entities. so like, do gods command or serve humanity? do they loathe or love mortals? death has a fantastic journey in her relationship with how she handles humanity, but in terms of how it plays into a god-god dynamic, maybe they get involved in human matters to prove aspects of humanity in an argument? like "humans are inherently cruel and violent" "no, you're wrong, let's go hang around this playground to prove that they have a greater capacity for love and compassion"

i also think that gods pretending to be mortals for a day is glorious stuff too!! and being earnest or slightly mocking about it, but also the idea of them craving the normalcy and comfort of a mortal life as opposed to the vast expanse of duties and responsibilities that await them as gods. going into a tavern to order some ale, listening to mortals talking, engaging with them casually, learning about the people they watch over every day. i like this one bc of the idea of these interactions reflecting in the godly world, too, like maybe one of the gods asks the god of the sea to grant the mortals a good catch of fish this week, or the god of the rain to encourage a healthy harvest for the year.

parties, too! bc i figure gods throw a BUNCH of parties, yk? and parties that are completely off the scale, like unlimited wine and the finest of foods and stunning decoration. attending or even throwing these parties, and those parties becoming a stage for further developments in the plot!

very fond of the idea of normal hobbies becoming very contorted simply because gods are doing them! so a god paints a landscape of a fiery valley and crowds of people dancing in circles together, but a mortal sees the painting and panics because surely if a god is painting it, it must be a prophecy?? (plot twist: the painter is color blind and thought they were painting a wedding in the middle of a green meadow) or a god sings a song about a beautiful woman arriving from another world, and everyone loses their mind bc "there's a new goddess???" when actually no the god just has a massive crush on a princess in another country.

i know i already mentioned creating new lifeforms, but i also love the eternals movie, so now i present to you a new idea: inventing new creations! much like phastos, perhaps these inventions are deemed too advanced for mortals to have, and so they're kept hidden in the god's world, but the creators keep making them, because they know their ideas are good, and they find ways for mortals to accidentally discover them so that humanity can continue to evolve and grow.
