Happy Valentine’s Day from me and Sanji! 💖 I just want to take a moment to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support you’ve shown us. It truly means so much to know there are people out there who genuinely support me and my relationship with Sanji. I never expected to feel this kind of encouragement, and it’s such a beautiful thing to know there are people who care. Sanji and I are celebrating Valentine’s Day at a gorgeous Italian restaurant tonight, and my day started in the most romantic way imaginable. I woke up to my bed covered in roses, and Sanji standing there with a tray of freshly baked chocolates he made just for me, smiling that perfect smile of his. He put so much love and effort into those chocolates, and of course, I couldn’t help but dive right in. He actually had to pull me away from them to get us ready for our date!

When I saw him dressed up—his soft, wavy hair perfectly styled, that adorable pink jacket paired with a turtleneck—I completely lost it. He looked so breathtaking I was ready to drop to my knees. Sanji is truly the most beautiful man, inside and out, and the way he loves me is more than I could’ve ever dreamed of. I’m so unbelievably lucky to call him mine. 😔💕

I finally gathered the courage to send something to your ask box. There’s so much I want to say, but I'm not very good at expressing myself, so if my words seem a bit jumbled, I hope you don't mind.

I started using Tumblr a little over a year ago, and I remember stumbling upon one of your artworks after searching the “alttp” tag. I was so incredibly happy and excited — I loved it immediately, especially because it’s so rare to see ALTTP-related art where I’m from.

Back then, I didn’t pay much attention to who the artist was and just kept browsing. But over time, I realized that so many of the amazing pieces I loved were actually created by you! Honestly, your art is breathtaking. The way you portray Link and Zelda outside of the game’s narrative makes them feel so real. Your inspiration and creativity seem endless.

Your use of bright, intricate, and emotionally resonant colors fills every piece with a sense of story — sometimes with a gentle sadness, sometimes with tiny, charming interactions that make me smile.

I remember seeing that you draw on a particular site, and I tried using it too. It was really hard 😣 and made me admire your work even more — I’m amazed at how you manage to create such rich, detailed pieces on such a tiny canvas and with such limited tools.

Your compositions and the way you frame your scenes are incredible too — the perspectives you use, whether it's looking up, down, or close-up, show such skill and depth. I’ve been obsessed with your artwork for a long time 🥺🥺

And the outfits you design for Link and Zelda — they’re absolutely beautiful. They’re so different from the classic green tunic, yet they feel *exactly* like something the characters would wear. I don't think there's any beginning or end to how emotional this got me and to how honoured I feel to have my art described in such a way;; this is!! absolutely everything I've ever dreamed of reaching with my art, so having someone else putting it into words just from looking at is so incredible !!!! ;v; even if it's hard to feel happy about my own stuff it seems like I can still portray the things I want to, this makes me so happy 🥹💕💕

I was wondering if you have any paintings that you think each of your favorite characters would represent or maybe even what u see when u look at them. ❤️🖼🎨🖌

Oh boy do I love this ask! Firstly, than you 🥺 you're too kind 💕

Second I have so many paintings that spring to mind for various characters! Immediately off the bat my brain went right to Lestat and how his presence and aesthetic (especially in 1920s New Orleans) gave gigantic J.C. Leyendecker vibes.

The way Leyendecker plays with shadow, light, and color to project an air of seduction and power is just *chef's kiss.* He is a master at depicting an idealized masculinity that still has a level of vulnerability. I don't think it's just the styling/ fashion of the men in Leyendecker's illustrations that remind me of Lestat, but the features as well. J.C. gives them this attitude of nonchalance but there's something deeply concerned with appearances underneath. Is that not Lestat?

For Claudia there are a couple. First (not a painting but a sculpture) is Degas' The Little Dancer Aged Fourteen. I look at this piece and think of the history of ballet and the connotations of ballet at the time Degas was working. In France at the time ballerinas were highly taken advantage of and exploited. The exploitation was sexual in nature and simultaneously adultified and infantilized. They were highly fetishized. It's very sad and tragic and it reminds me of Claudia. The Little Dancer has an almost defiant energy to her, like there is a sense of pride and restraint, something dignified despite her lesser social standing.

I also see something of Claudia in this piece: Girl in Pink Dress, ca. 1927 by Laura Wheeler Waring. I also think this girl embodies the qualities of both Bailey and Delainey's Claudias–– there's simultaneously an innocence and maturity. I see something similar in Isabella, (aka Young Woman with a Fan), 1906 by Simon Maris and I just think it's neat to see art of Black people done by a white person from the early 1900s that isn't fetishizing or racist (don't look at J.C. Leyendecker's art of Black people, yikes!)

For Louis, my first thought was Derek Fordjour's STRWMN, 2020. It gives NOLA Louis to me in terms of style, but also the colorful and fun energy has the vibes of his little journey of gay self-discovery in Paris. I also see Louis in Lois Mailou Jones' Negro Youth, 1929. It mirrors depressed Louis for me. There is something very fragile in his expression, but you can tell he's trying to be strong, much like Louis.

As for Armand? Well, the number one is Botticelli's Saint Sebastian (it just has an uncanny resemblance to Assad) and the metaphor is too apt to not point out. The other that immediately make me think of Armand is The Abduction of Ganymede by Correggio. It's less the painting and more the myth it's based on, but out of all the Ganymede paintings, Correggio's is my favorite.

And Daniel is just like... any Nan Goldin photo, but I'll pick Heart-shaped bruise, 1980. I don't think I need to give my thoughts here 😂

I evaluated the drawings in terms of details that “were not placed or were not in the right place”, and seriously, that's COMPLETELY okay, this is a Dtiys and everyone has their own style and way of drawing! Whether you put it in the right place or not, it doesn't matter, I loved them all, it was only when I evaluated that I chose to be like this, but don't worry, I loved all the drawings, fr!!!

Also- I didn't evaluate them for reasons of intimacy and background because then it would be a bit “boring(?)” for me, because it's not like I have an affinity with the person or that their background got so beautiful that the other one who made the most accurate drawing will be in last place or something, you know?

But anyway, don't be sad! Know that all your efforts were not in vain, and who knows, maybe I can bring you guys a little surprise.....?👀

TBH your art and Zimtlees's art help me too. I use them as references when I draw Orel because the way you draw Orel is the most canonical for me. For some reason, when I draw Orel in """my style""" he looks weird... haha. So ye THANK UUUUUUUUU

Second, I'll try my best to describe the way I see Orel and Christina. It might be a little "ooc" but hey, we couldn't see how they have changed as teens and adults, huuuh?

As I said before Christina has mommy issues and Orel has daddy issues. Perfect match, perfect couple, next.

Poppit emotionally abused Christina. Art was physically punished Christina which is also awful but he never told her something that could traumatized her...at least that deep. In my vision, Poppit made Christina believe that she'll never be a good mother or a partner, because she's just like her(or her father. Depends on who he hates the most while she's drunk haha) Christina was growing up as a smart kid, always getting the best marks, always being the prettiest and well-behaved but never good enough for her mother. It affected on her relationship with Orel, ofc.

Orel is actually wants all this family stuff because he wants to give love and accept love. No matter how hard things are going, how bad he or Christina feel. He believes in it. Ohhh they having mutual mental breakdown...how romantic...🩷💕

What else... Christina is mentally ill?(she has beautiful angel disorder...tbh I don't know what she has, you can interpret it in different way if you want) something, something like her mother has. She has to take pills but she hates it and Orel had to remind her all the time about it.

Also

When they moved Christina gave Orel a present: a tiny puppy...;

Christina like to bite Orel for no reason (Orel doesn't know how to react tbh);

Sometimes Christina likes to call Orel just by his last name "Puppington"...;

BSD Locations- Yokohama Visit 2024 - Part 5

The final part of the Yokohama Pilgrimage!

24. Harbor View Park (S1EP9)

It's so close to France Yama. It was really windy and a pleasant area to relax after a long day. You can see a wonderful view of the entire city from here!! The sun was setting around the time I visited so it was kind of perfect :')

25. Harbor View Police Station (S1EP9)

Only a few minutes from the Harbor View Park. It so happens that a black car also passed by as I was taking a picture, such a great coincidence XD

26. Motomachi Park Telephone Booth

A nice old-fashioned telephone booth!! I'm not sure it is still operating though...There were some beautiful western styled architectural buildings on the way here.

It was getting so dark at this point that I was worried I wouldn't be able to find this telephone booth, but thankfully I did! (It was only like 16:45 or something 😭)

27. Motomachi Park (S3EP26)

The park featured in the 15!anime adaptation. Honestly this place was kinda difficult to find (i think I literally passed by a cemetery??). It was so deserted and I'm the kind of person who gets spooked when alone and loses sense of direction when it starts getting dark lmao. I tried to match the angle of the anime but the design of the park was slightly different.

How was Dazai even jumping over that pillar thing? It was so big, it would take a lot of effort to climb on top of one, much less jump from one pillar to another 😭

When I was leaving the park, I saw a cute kitty too!! Somehow, I felt like my trip was really complete lol. I really wish I had some cat food (I want more cat friends!!!! 😭)

28. The Sky Garden Yokohama Landmark Tower (OP2)

The final place on my list and one I was dying with excitement to visit!! S2 opening is so iconic and my favourite BSD opening, so I tried to search for a building with the same view hahaha. The ticket costs 1,000 yen, but I got it for 900 yen by booking in advance on Klook! The view was absolutely stunning!!!! I would definitely recommend coming here for the night view! 💕

The Cosmos Clock 21 changes colors every 15 minutes and it's so pretty!! They have a cafe and they have some books too! You can just sit and relax while gazing out towards the beautiful Yokohama timeline! :)

Speaking of which, they even had the BSD Anthology collection in a section labelled, "Books based on Yokohama" XD

I picked a random one and there was a chapter in which Kunikida was sick? I'm not sure if the anthology series is being translated anywhere but I sure as hell do not remember any chapter like this?? There was even one where Fukuzawa was feeding cats or something and I'm so intrigued, I will consider getting a copy if I ever find it in stores.

It seems that they have days when they plan fireworks at the Yokohama harbor. I saw it on a free pamphlet i collected from the subway station. It's called Yokohama Sparkling Twilight!! I've added the link for any of your fanfic requirements lol. Imagine how cool it would be to see the fireworks from here thoo!? 😩💖

Yokohama Museum of Art was the last place on my list. It's actually located close to the Landmark tower, but it was getting really cold and my legs were killing me so I had to call it a day lol :')

Final Thoughts

Looking back now, I find it crazy to think I planned to visit all these places on foot in one single day (and managed to pull it off???) If I had started a little bit earlier, I suppose I could have squeezed in a few more places, because it gets dark so quickly in winter, but the exhaustion would have got me before that hahaha. I think I walked 30,000 steps that day, the most I have ever walked in my life ig 😂 But it was totally worth it!! I felt so happy to see all the places featured in the anime, and it's just amazing how much work the anime team put into the smallest details. It's just so wholesome and fun to connect the places to the anime versions.

I think it would be better to do such a pilgrimage in summer instead. The BSD anime page on twitter had also made some posts about some of the locations, which i forgot to share. I'll add them to part 1, to the other references I listed.

I'm not sure if it's because I love the series so much, that made me romanticize the place a bit, but Yokohama really was such a lovely place. It was such a charming and peaceful city and when I walked around the harbour I found myself thinking how I wouldn't mind living here hahaha. If I ever get the chance to visit again, I would like to relax a bit, without having to worry about moving along to the next destination XD
