Ongoing Series - Thai

Never Let Me Go (Tues YT) 4 of 12 - I keep saying this, but I can’t get over how delighted I am to have Perth back on my screen, and under the GMMTV umbrella. He is a stellar actor. I like that the first kiss of this show wasn’t btw the leads. Felt more realistic to high school. Big drama next week!

My School President (Fri YT) 5 of 10 - I missed these two so much last week. But also there was A MUSICAL INCIDENT and it caused a bit of a rant from yours truly. 

Between Us (Sun iQIYI) 9 of 12 - no ep this week, resumes tomorrow WATCH ALONG HERE.

609 Bedtime Story (Fri WeTV) 7 of 11 - Game remains my spirit animal (pushy fucker), and the plot of the main couple is interesting even if I don’t like the cheating component. 

Cutie Pie 2 You (special) 1 of 4 - Oh it’s a full on special. Very very pretty and, is possible, more sappy and full of manufactured angst. Nuea protecting Hia’s interests was sweet. Lots of making out. So... more of the same, basically. What year are we in now, anyway?

I Will Knock You (Fri Gaga) 8 of 12 - (note from my Thai language spy rgr ep 5: the writing on the stone tablets was their names + 2 family members) And now we are suddenly firmly in BL territory and baby Dom is just a baby Seme. No bisexual identity crisis needed... just diving into cheese fest. 

Remember Me (Sun Gaga) 13 of 14 - I would have kept JaFirst apart for longer, quite frankly. I mean otherwise why bother split them up in the first place? Please just end this show already. 

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

The New Employee (Korea Weds Viki) 3 of 8 - I love them so much, and they are so cute, and this is not open to discussion. Viva la age gap! 

The Director Who Buys Me Dinner (Korea Weds iQIYI) 7-8 of 10 - There is a lot implied about the leads history together, but it was still nice to get backstory plus GAT KISSES. I love it when they flip the dynamic and give the uke agency. I’m really enjoying this show now, I’m even invested in the love triangle.

HIStory 5: Love in the Future (Taiwan Weds Viki) 2 of 10 - Side couple ascension: Daddy Long Legs trope, it’s been a while since I have seen this in ANY romance drama. I’m not really into the main couple, at least not yet (and I totally missed that they hadn’t met each other in person yet), but I really love the side dishes. It’s like H4 all over again only with less dub con.

Candy Color Paradox AKA Ameiro Paradox (Japan Fri Gaga) 4 of 8 - nothing this week. 

It’s Airing But I’m Not Watching It

Love Bill (Vietnam Sat YT) - Bah Vinh is back but I’m too distracted. Also there’s a lot of fund raising stuff going on with them. I can wait.

The Star Always Follow You (Vietnam YT) - same Team RL peeps we have seen before (Sunshine, Stupid)

Moonlight Chicken GMMTV’s Midnight series (Weds YT) 1 of 8 eventually - first segment has begun bit it’s not the EarthMix messy gays. Sorry all, I’m so not interested in messy hets, so I’m waiting until they grace my screen.

Should I watch The Warp Effect? Tublr seems excited about it and BL bits look good? Will they end happy? Thoughts anyone? 

Till the World Ends (Thai YT) finished at 10 eps, the heat looked good but I don’t know about the ending with that kind of title, so did anyone risk it and want to tell me what they thought? I haven’t seen much chatter on my feed so I am not optimistic.

2022′s The Usual Night (Twitter account) from Japan is a 10-ep fake documentary series starring the members of Jpop group the Fantastics. It flew under everyone’s radars but apparently has a BL subplot featuring Yagi Yusei (My Beautiful Man) and Seguchi Leiya. This officially means they beat OnlyOneOf to the punch as the first inter-group BL pairing. Keito Kimura (Onoe from Candy Color Paradox) is also a member of Fantastics and in the show. Source reddit. No word on official international release. Japan is like that. 

OnlyOneOf’s Nine dropped the last (?) in their BL Kpop series, 'beyOnd' (be #6)

luna/luka/ruka can see duel monsters spirits. she had a heavy burden placed on her when she was THREE YEARS OLD to protect the world of duel monsters spirits. as if that is enough to put on her shoulders, she's also sickly and oh yeah, they decided to also give a signer mark. she's three. she's on her death bed. she's expected to save two worlds. like this kid literally cannot catch a break. oh yeah, also her parents? they're never around. only person in her life is her twin brother, who is loud and that rubs against her autism in the wrong way. yes, she's autistic. do not argue with me. no i'm serious don't argue with me. lil miss luka has the failure to be diagnosed all weird little autistic girls are subjected. if she was a boy, y'all would see her autism for what it is but that's not the point of this rant. anyway her first time meeting yusei, she didn't care about his criminal mark because his duel monster friends said he's okay and that's good enough for her: the duel monsters said this criminal on her couch is a good guy! therefore acab. this is also the first time an adult has ever treated her like her thoughts and opinions matter, mostly because there was never an adult in her goddamn life in the first place (shout out to her parents for ABANDONING TWO TWELVE YEAR OLDS to their own fuckin devices). can't forget the fortune cup, where lua takes her place at first and LOSES IN THE FIRST ROUND, damaging her professional duel record (not like it matters because the writers decided it didn't matter what luka does after the series ANYWAY so who cares if her record is damaged :) ). she gets dragged in anyway and tortured by a child psychologist - classic weird autistic girl moment. during this she has a vision of the duel monster world and realizes oh yeah this is real, i'm supposed to protect this, and like. CANNOT. CATCH. A SINGLE. BREAK. aki takes an interest in luka because of her powers too! all while divine is a tool to her brother and she's forced to watch divine torture her brother :) awesome stuff. literally. cannot catch a fuckin break. next season her first duel is a loss against some weird kid from the future, and her second duel is against aporia where she literally dies (her brother brings her back to life). she is a character of untapped potential and deserves the world. vote for luka.

I personally think Jack has an unrequited crush on Yusei. Nothing he would act upon. But it’s there, at least I believe it to be there, and I think it’s really cute.

So the first time Jack and Yusei interact in the series, it’s evident that jack, the guy who wouldn’t stop reminding us he was king every waking moment of his life until he wasn’t that anymore, seemed to think of Yusei as somewhat of an equal. Sure, he seemed to be certain he was going to win, but he never failed to show his acknowledgement of Yusei’s skills.

At the time, that was all there was to it. Jack was obviously the rival character, and that’s about it. Maybe he wasn’t as gay for the main character as Kaiba and Manjoume were.

Oh but he was.

And he is.

And he will be.

Hear me out on this one.

The first time I thought Jack’s crush was showing was during the helicopter scene, in which Carly deliberately disrespected Yusei to lure Jack into speaking.

WHICH FUCKING WORKED.

It basically went

Carly: *says something bad about Yusei*

Jack: UM NO *goes on an exposition monologue about yusei’s backstory and how there’s more to him than meets the eye*

Wasn’t it a bit weird that the first time we hear of Yusei’s backstory, was through Jack?

Unlike with crow…which I’m gonna make a whole post about later, I can’t see Jack having purely platonic feelings for Yusei. There’s a bit of a crush mixed in too.

And another thing that stood out was the fact that it was Jack who snapped Yusei put of his misery as he briefly wallowed over kiryu. I mean he did it by punching him, but it seemed to work. After all, Jack knows Yusei well.

NOW HE'RE ANOTHER GAY SITCH

When Yusei is occupied with his and Bruno’s program, we get to see a more jealous side of Jack. It’s honestly what confirmed the crush thing to me.

Crow didn’t seem to mind it as much, although he’s supposedly the more hot-headed one. Rua was pretty chill with it, even pointing out that they were “like lovebirds”. And Ruka was cool as well.

But Jack and Aki? Oh they were N O T very fine. They were pretty pissed at this new pretty blue-haired boy Yusei’s been ignoring them for.

Rua seemed to only point out Aki’s jealousy, but I think that just goes back to his sister’s earlier comment, which kinda pissed me off, “You only say that about a man and a woman”

Had she not said that, I think Rua may have been able to conclude that Jack was jealous as well. But that’s besides the point.

What also seemed to stand out to me was Jack’s constant violence and aggression towards Bruno, more so than with the rest of the gang.

We’ve already established that Bruno is…far from platonic with Yusei. At least far enough not be labelled a “just a friend”.

Did that have anything to do with Jack’s behavior Towards him?

I choose to believe so!

What about yusei? Do I think he has a crush on Jack as well?

I would have to say no. I doubt he does. Yes, he cares for him a lot, but I can’t help but think he views him as a friend. A really close one, but that’s about it.

When comparing the way Yusei acted with Kiryuu, or even bruno, with the way he acts towards Jack, It seemed very platonic in comparison, no? Though I am way too biased towards Treasonshipping, so maybe that's that side of me speaking.

But the other way around, Comparing Jack’s interactions with everyone, including Carly may I add, to his with Yusei, a very loud part of my head screams UNREQUITED CRUSH UNREQUITED CRUSH.

So uh to end this. JACK HAS A CRUSH ON YUSEI, BUT I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING HAPPENING BEYOND IT.

Pleasantly surprised to be in one of these, so let’s go

Favorite series: *Gestures to icon* Is it any surprise I’ll be picking GX? I love GX with all my heart and soul. The story’s pacing is very good and never feels like it’s dragging its feet to get to where it’s going, most duels are over in less than a full episode with the longest one being three, there are so many good characters to get invested in, and this boy right here is your protagonist.

Look at him blow kisses to the audience after beating Crowler, how could anyone not love Jaden Yuki? I care him so much. Even the filler episodes in GX are pretty fun to watch most of the time, and it’s the good kind of filler that may not advance the plot much or at all, but it’ll give you plenty of good memories to take with you. Who could possibly forget the eggwich thief? Not to mention the soundtrack fucking slaps.

Favorite protagonist: I mean...

Yeah it’s Jaden. GX hooked me immediately when I started watching it because of how much I loved this boy. He’s that perfect mix of cocky and sweet when it comes to dueling because he’s confident in his own abilities, but he never stops having fun and being amazed at what his opponent can do, he cares about all of his friends and does his best to help them with their problems, he’s kind to strangers, and he has exactly half a brain cell. 

I feel the gif speaks for itself, but Jaden’s dialogue when he turns around here is “I’m such a sucker for things like this! I’ll help you, ma’am!” Dorothy says “No, you’ll be late... Don’t you have a test today?” And Jaden replies with “Who cares if I’m late? I couldn’t leave a lady in trouble!” Jaden Yuki is my absolute favorite protagonist.

Favorite rival: Oh man is that a tough one. Am I allowed to pick two? It’s a hard call to make between this dumb edgy bitch-

Honestly they’re tied for favorite rival in my book. I absolutely loved Chazz when I watched GX, and I thought his arc about breaking through his inferiority/superiority complex and learning to accept loss as a part of life without letting it define him was wonderfully written, and seeing him grow as a person throughout the show just made me feel happy for him. Shark... I really thought I wasn’t going to end up liking Shark at first, but god he just gets so much better as Zexal goes on, starting out as this mean spirited middle school bully in episode one, and slowly ending up as Yuma’s boyfriend closest friend. It’s incredible to look back at how Shark acts when he’s first introduced and compare it to... season 3, I think it was, where just hearing the words “Yuma’s in danger” is enough to send him running to his rival’s side. Chazz and Shark. They are my favorites.

Favorite BFF: Him

Crow Hogan is an absolute treasure and he was my favorite part about watching 5Ds. This little bird man first gets introduced by stealing cards for his kids and clowning on Sector Security, and he’s a source of so much good throughout the show. Excellent best friend (technically brother but I’m counting him), wonderful father, 10/10 person all around. Plus the fact that the only thing stopping him from berating his bitchass brother even more was Yusei having to literally pick him up and pull him away is definitely extra points in my book. What a powerful little bird. His only weakness is people that are taller than him, which is unfortunately most people.

Favorite GFF:

Yuzu. Have I actually watched Arc V yet? No, but I’m still picking Yuzu for my number one here. Tea and Tori are just awful characters, I’m neutral towards Alexis, and Akiza... Did have potential to be something interesting on her own, despite how uncomfortable she made me in seasons 1-2 of 5Ds, but her relevance is alllll downhill from there. I’ve seen one clip of Yuzu yelling at a man eating pie and calling him a 100th rate duelist, and that was all I needed to know she would be my favorite. (Clip here) 

Favorite villain: Oh boy

The fuckin carrot is my favorite villain, and I say this as someone who fully believes he didn’t deserve to be in the last episode. Vector did some fucked up shit in his day, and he only continued to do fucked up shit in Yuma’s day, but I have to say he was pretty effective when it came down to his goals. He got things done and went right for what he wanted by taking direct action to seize Don Thousand’s power, and he manipulated Yuma perfectly by preying on his kind nature and love for Astral to use him to further his goals. 

...Plus I mean just look at his subbed dialogue God he’s such a slut. Evil slutty alien.

Tl;dr Vector was a horrible horrible person, but he was a good villain, and he was so entertaining whenever he was on screen that it was impossible not to like him. Still kinda wish he got what he deserved though, and what he deserved definitely wasn’t another chance.

Speaking of Don Thousand though, can we talk about how unfairly pretty he is? If I had to pick a runner up villain in terms of looks alone, it would definitely be him.

God it was not fair how pretty the big bad of Zexal was. He’s fucking gorgeous, and in my opinion, the best looking villain at the very least.

Favorite card: *Sweats in Duel Links* Favorite? There’s so many cards out there to pick from, but since I’ve already broken the rules with my two favorite rivals, I’ll be picking two of each card type: Spells, traps, and monsters. One for the aesthetic, and one for how often I make use of it.

First up, the Aesthetics group

What can I say, Vampiric Koala is such a cutie, Dwimmered Path has some really pretty card art, and Rainbow Life is an eternal flex on any heteros I may encounter while playing Duel Links. Nothing better than a gay trap card.

Now for usability

Dragon Knight of Creation is suuuper helpful in any dragon themed deck and has a permanent slot in my decks for Mokuba and Kaiba, PoG is always a fun way to boost up weak monsters to ridiculous heights, and Dark Bribe just lets you block your opponent like “Okay I know you wanna hurt me but I will let you draw another card if you do not do that thing”, and they can’t refuse you.

Favorite episode: I’ll be copying cipher’s format here and picking one for each series, but this will still only total out to five for me since I’ve yet to watch past Zexal ^^; Soon I’ll get to Arc V! One day...

Season 0: Episode 16:  Turnabout by a Hair's Breadth - The White-Robed Crisis I’m a sucker for my son Joey, and this was a good Joey episode about him and his sister, plus it was nice seeing that doctor get what he deserved :) Duel Monsters: Season 5, episode 12-14:  The Deciding Match for Duel King - Yugi vs. Leon/Golden Castle of Stromberg/KC Grand Prix Ends  Probably a weird batch of episodes to pick, I know, but a lot of DM was kinda forgettable to me, and these are some of the few episodes I do recall. I just... really felt for Leon’s situation, and I wanted good things for that boy. I care him. GX: Season 3, episode 34: Dark Fusion! Inferno Wing!! Jim. Jim Jim Jimmmmm. This was the episode that finally made me understand why saviorshipping was a thing because it hits you with all these memories Jim has of Jaden and shows how they bonded before all this Dark World shit happened, and the whole thing was very emotional. 5Ds: Season 4, episode 2-3:  Recollections, Entrusted with a Friend's Dying Wish God Crow, my precious bird son. I really liked the backstory they gave him, despite how much it hurt. It was probably the best character development he got in the whole of 5Ds, and let you see a side to him you probably wouldn’t expect. I loved watching him get his justice. Zexal II: Season 2, episode 5-6:  Alito the Silent Fighter - Reunion of the Passionate Duelists!/ Be Revived! The Duelist Soul That Transcends Life!! I picked these episodes for Nistro and Nistro alone. He was one of my absolute favorites in Zexal, and seeing how well he and Dextra were doing was good for the soul. Just look at this good lion man right here.

Favorite decks to use: Elemental Heroes, Aromages, Red Eyes, Six Samurai, and Crystal Beasts.

Fusion, Ritual, Synchro, Xyz, Pendulum, or Link: I’m a simple girl, I love fusion/tributes for how easy they are, but synchro can be pretty fun, too

Years in fandom: ??? Even I don’t know the answer to this one, friends. I used to be in the fandom when I was in middle school, wrote/read a few fanfics here and there, but then I fell out of it for... Well I’m 22 now and only got back into things 6 months ago? I started rewatching the abridged series of Duel Monsters in March, and from there I just wanted to consume actual Yugioh content and never went back.

YGO Questionnaire Part 2 Electric Boogaloo

So, my gf/bf @howaboutalittlehelpneos tagged me to do this again a... good long while ago, and I had wanted to wait until I'd finished my GX rewatch before trying this again. But ouch oof I accidentally also got through all of 5Ds again before getting to this lol

But the 5Ds rewatch definitely reshaped a lot of my thoughts, so... cracks knuckles. This won't be spoiler free, fair warning~

Favorite Series: ugh the formatting killed my original essay on this but okay GX and 5Ds are pretty tied in my book, now-- I love them equally, but in different ways! GX fulfills my love for subversive coming-of-age stories with a heartwarming, humorous, and also soulcrushing touch, and I love how each season brings a new story and new characters-- it's like reading installments of a novel series, and I think the formatting works wonders for it as a whole. It has some absolutely phenomenal character writing, too-- even the characters I dislike are ones I can appreciate for what they introduce to the story! And honestly, not enough people give the first two seasons of GX the credit it deserves: they're half the charm, really. How are you going to feel the full impact of the heartbreaking content in seasons 3 and 4 if you aren't properly attached to the characters?

But on 5Ds's side of things... it fulfills my love for stories with time loops, found family, human nature, and of course, love and death and how they intertwine. I love how the leading characters are just a bunch of broken kids from broken circumstances who all find a home with each other, and of course, how it highlights class disparity and how fucked up the prison/"justice" systems are. Yea, sure, maybe it underwent executive meddling and all, but I genuinely love it for what it is and I wish more people appreciated it... my only problem with 5Ds is the untwist with Z-ONE and then the ending s m h I adore it overall and I could go off for a long while on it. Overall, these are my two instinctive recommendations for anyone getting into Yugioh!

(look at these boys they're so important) Favorite Protagonist: Oh, believe me, absolutely nothing has changed here-- Yusei Fudo is and always will be my favorite protagonist, and my rewatch only solidified that.

I just... love him so much? He's seen so much hell in his life and carries so much guilt on his shoulders, but he still has room in his heart to believe in others and to believe that anyone can defy fate and find hope even at rock bottom. I love that he's initially introduced as this quiet, brooding figure when he really just turns out to be a huge softie who wears his heart on his sleeve half the time and wants to bring about change for Satellite and its people. Plus I just really love that his greatest flaw is something that would ordinarily be a positive trait-- he's Overly self-sacrificial, to the point where he's basically setting himself on fire to keep others warm, and that's not really framed as something Heroic

Just... he makes me so happy. I have two Yusei charms that I ordinarily keep on my keys (one was a gift from Zenzen) and they're a constant source of serotonin for me. He's Peak comfort character for me. Best protag in my book Favorite Rival: Same deal here-- still Manjoume!

While he spends a lot of the anime getting the good old damsel in distress treatment (getting suckered into a cult, getting knocked into a coma, becoming a zombie, getting fucking Killed, etc), I still think his character arc is really well-written overall and I only appreciated it even more when I watched GX again. I love the fact that he's got a soft heart he buries beneath the edgy facade, and that he's simultaneously really sharp and also kind of dense lol. He's just a fun character and watching how he evolves from episode one to episode one hundred eighty is such a satisfying journey.

Plus, props to him for being such a versatile duelist-- 50 wins in a row is HARD as is, let alone with a deck full of cards he just found laying around in the Arctic. Three ace monsters, three different archetypes... he's a really good duelist and I'm proud of him for it

Oh, but honestly, I don't really dislike any of the rivals-- I'm neutral towards Revolver and Reiji, but the remaining four (Kaiba, Manjoume, Jack, and Shark) compel me. yes I accidentally wound up liking Jack Atlas shhh Favorite BFF: Honestly, I really like most of the characters who fit this archetype-- Joey, Crow, Gongenzaka, Soulburner... I still lean a little bit more towards Joey, but I really appreciate all four of them. I'm gonna say Joey again, just because I find his evolution as a character the most compelling, but I appreciate the other three a lot. Soulburner has the best design though Favorite GFF: Oh absolutely still Aki, but I honestly... really love most female Yugioh characters? I'm assuming this is lead girls only, but like. I'm dumb and gay and I love Girls so this is naturally the most difficult one for me to answer lol

Aki just resonates with me the most because she's the prime example of how trauma doesn't always manifest in palatable ways-- when we first meet her, she's angry and lashes out at anyone and anything just because she wants the world to suffer in the same ways she's suffered, and then... we get to watch her grow from that, once she's free from Divine and able to heal the way she needs to heal. I know the second half of 5Ds didn't give her character the attention it deserved, but I'm still proud of her for winding up on the path she did-- seeing her channel her power and energy into wanting to heal and help others was just so good and was one of the few things I really Loved about the 5Ds ending.

oh, but like. Asuka Tenjoin and Aoi Zaizen are very close seconds for me!!! Aki just has a vice grip on my heart Favorite Villain: Okay, it's still technically Vector-- I think he's the most entertaining, well-written, and effective villain out of all of the ones we've seen so far, but... I also want to add Takuma Saiou and then all of Yliaster as honorable mentions?

As someone fond of tarot myself, I was naturally pretty intrigued by Saiou the first time I watched GX, but my attachment to him only grew the second time around where I actually got the chance to understand his character better. Plus, like... the visuals with him are fucking astounding and he's always so interesting to watch.

As for Yliaster, I just... really love how the big bad of 5Ds turned out to just essentially be a broken man desperate to save anyone and anything and three robotic reconstructions of the friends he'd lost. I still think the untwist with Z-ONE was stupid and I much prefer the idea of him and Yusei being the same person, but I'm still compelled by the other three-- well. Paradox less so, because we don't get a lot of Paradox lore, but. Aporia and Antinomy for sure.

ugh Yugioh has some damn good villains

Favorite Card: now that I actually play the TCG game...

Stardust is always going to be my favorite of all cards because it checks every box for me (my favorite YGO character's ace monster, space theme, what more could I want), but Aromaseraphy Rosemary has really become one of my aces in my best TCG deck! I'm still mastering irl plays, but I'm happy with my progress and I love my plant gang...

Favorite Episode: alright, here's where there's actually been a Lot of change, so...

Season 0: Episode 16: "Turnabout by a Hair's Breadth - The White-Robed Crisis" -- The more I think about this one, the more I love it; there's a... lot of corruption in the medical industry, and I've seen a lot of it firsthand, so just. Seeing a corrupt doctor get what he deserved at the end was cathartic, in a way? Plus, a Jounouchi-centric episode is always a good time.

Duel Monsters: Episodes 96-97: "Darkness vs. Darkness/One Turn Kill" -- this hasn't changed, I still love seeing Marik and Bakura bitch at each other for two whole episodes LMAO

GX: Episode 152: "Activate Super-Fusion! Rainbow Neos" -- This one hasn't changed and it likely never will-- I take so much pride in seeing Judai push forward, past the fear and guilt he's carrying, all to save Johan... it's cathartic and I never get sick of watching it.

5Ds: sweats. still all of Crash Town, but also episodes 137-147-- the Ark Cradle is one of my favorite parts of 5Ds and one of my favorite YGO arcs period, and even though each duel is a fucking gut punch, I love the emotional intensity and weight in each episode... It hurts but in a mostly good way

Zexal: Episode 143: "The Aloof Duelist 'Nasch': The Destined Final Duel" -- this one hasn't changed! Still hurts, still love it, I still weep over Ryouga Shark Kamishiro on a daily basis

Arc-V: Episodes 81-82: "Our Respective Battlefields/The Ultimate Falcon VS The Black-Feathered Thunder" -- Okay, honestly, this was hard because I... genuinely. really don't like Arc-V very much at all lol (it's just not my cup of tea, but more power to those who do like it!), but I thought this duel was a lot of fun! Shun is my absolute favorite from Arc-V and I really like the friendship he struck up with Crow a lot, so here we are

VRAINS (so far): Episode 25-26: "Virus Deck Operation/Three Draws Leading to Hope" -- honestly I am so biased because I just really love Blue Angel and I loved seeing her get a well-deserved victory like this lol. I'm not done with VRAINS, so this is probably gonna change, but anytime Blue Angel or Soulburner are on screen, I'm happy

For playlist day this year, I decided to do some musical tunes for characters, ships, etc. I thought it would be a nice change considering I am already doing playlist for every character day throughout the month without musical songs, but for today I want to share the magic of musicals with all the other 5Ds fans. Chapter 1 - The Beginning of the Investigation; Part 1.

•It all starts at House of Nazo, he was taking care of his little sister Yui until a news item appears on TV.•

Reporter: Today at 3:56 am a car hit the truck and fell on the cliff where it caught fire and three bodies were found were two boys and a girl and the names are Gai Hiragaya, Kouchi Asuno and Oriko Sakimono.

* The brothers, who were so far distracted by a silly conversation. They listened attentively to the reporter's voice, being tiny Yui didn't understand very well, but Nazo already... Understood very well *

Yui: Nii-san, why are you crying?

* Yui was 7 years old and she didn't understand why her brother was crying *

- Chise, a star with a human body, sits on a hill, watching the sky as it turns dark -

Chise: //How long have I been here...? In this world...?// *reachs out to the sky* //Home feels far away...// *puts his hand back on his lap; shakes his head with a force that makes his green hairs fly* //I'm getting melancholic again... C'mon, Chise, think, think... Why did I came here, today?// *trembles from the cold that coats him, he puts his arms around his body, trying to stop the shaking* //Pulling myself out, damn... How stupid am I?// *stands up and stumbles a little; stops a sniffle with his long sleeves* //I'll get myself sick, won't I?..// *grits his teeth* //It won't be easy to hide...//

- Chise returns to the palace where he owns a flat; the hallway leads right to the living room where his roommate Yusei, an arch-angel, seems to be waiting for him

Yusei: *confusedly* What were you going to say?

Chise: *quickly* I'm fine, I'm fine. Totally. I'm heading to my room, now. *makes a run to his room* //Gosh... I sounded horrible. My nose is too stuffed up...//

- Chises room is a personification of order and cleanliness; minimalistic furniture, it seems empty at first glance, but looking closer one can see that his entire stuff is just near his loftbed -

Chise: *climbs up his loft bed; breaths heavily when he reached the top; throws himself on the blankets; closes his eyes* //Damn, angels don't sleep... I need a better cover...// *takes a book from a shelf attached to the loft bed; pretends to read* //How long can I keep up with that...? This is the first time I got sick since I moved with him... And I can't tell him straight-forward that I'm a star and that my body is frail.// *moans frustrated and pulls the blanket around him as the shivering won't stop* //Can't get sick... Can't get sick...// *sneezes* //Damn it...//

Yusei: *knocks on his door* Chise? Is everything alright? Did I do something wrong?

Chise: *shakes his head; tries to raise his voice, but sounds hoarse* You didn't. Don't come in, please.

Yusei: *opens the door nevertheless* I'm worried... Also, I waited the entire day for you to come back...

Yusei: *looks around* You try to tell me there was a corn of dust in your room? *laughs* You're joking, right?

Chise: *lowers his glance*

Chise: *pushes him* Go out! Immediately!

Maybe I will continue with writing dialogues... It's kind of funny and also easier for someone who's first language is not English... Haha.

"Are all people from the future so stoic?" Judai asked randomly as he and Yusei lay sprawled out in the grass on the hilltop. They'd gone for a ride on Yusei's D-Wheel after he showed up in Judai's timeline (of course the young inventor had built a time machine to see his crush again) and found this place. It offered a perfect view of Duel Academy in the distance. "No," Yusei shook his head, chuckling softly. "My friend Crow is louder, like you. Especially when he's arguing with my other friend, Jack." "You should bring them with you next time you visit this century," Judai suggested. "I'd love to meet them." "Maybe I will," Yusei said noncomitally. Judai frowned. "What's the matter?" Yusei asked, sitting up. "That stoicness," Judai sighed. "It means I never really know what you're thinking." "Well.....I think I like you a lot," Yusei confessed. "And I'd like to keep meeting you like this, so I can get to know you better." "By like this, do you mean, alone?" Judai wondered. "Is there something wrong with that?" Yusei asked innocently. "I don't know if prejudice like that no longer exists in the future," Judai explained. "I hope it doesn't. But, in my century.....some people might not like seeing two boys on a date." "No, there are homphobes in the century I'm from, too," Yusei confessed. "But, that doesn't mean I would be scared to be seen with you." "So, you wouldn't mind doing something that makes it obvious we like each other like that?" Judai asked. "What did you have in mind?" Yusei wondered. "How about just shouting, 'I LOVE YOU, JUDAI-KUN'?" Judai suggested, laughing. "What?" Yusei reddened. "There's no way I could suddenly shout something like that! It's embarassing." "Ok, what about just, like.....signing it then?" Judai offered. "I don't know sign language," Yusei protested. "It doesn't have to be real sign language," Judai shrugged. "Just, try making a heart shape with your fingers. Like this." He demonstrated the gesture, presssing his knuckles and thumbs together. "L-like that?" Yusei copied him uncertainly. "Yeah," Judai grinned. "When I do that in public later, do it back." "I-I'll try," Yusei said hesitantly.

Shou shouted from the balcony, waving down at his roommate. "Misawa-san came over to see you!" A boy in a Ra Yellow jacket stood beside Shou and waved. "Hi, Shou-kun! Hi, Misawa-san!" Judai waved back. "Alright, Yusei, I gotta go. Let's do this again soon, ok?" "Ok," Yusei smiled. Judai made the heart gesture with his hands. Yusei's eyes flicked nervously to Shou and Misawa, who were still staring down at them. "C'mon, do it back," Judai encouraged. Yusei wanted to please his date, but the stares of Judai's friends were making him feel anxious and self-conscious. "Do I have to?" "The guys already saw me do it," Judai pleaded. "If you don't do it back, I'll just look weird." "I'm sorry, Judai," Yusei sighed, hiding his red face in his hand. "It's just too awkward." "Yusei, no fair!" Judai pouted. "I'm.....I'm not good at expressing my emotions, ok?" Yusei argued. "I don't do public displays of affection. I'm sorry." "Are you ashamed of me?" Judai demanded. "No! Of course not!" Yusei insisted. Fuck. He was really fucking up. But.....No. He still couldn't do something that would make him look so silly. "I...I need to go," Yusei said awkwardly, and got on his D-Wheel and drove away, leaving a confused and hurt Judai in the dust. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Two Days Later Yusei had hacked a phone to be able to send text messages across the time stream. He sent a message to Judai: Hi. I'm sorry about what happened the other day. I just got self-conscious. Are you still mad? Depends, Judai texted back. Will you come over to my century and make it  up to me? I can't today, Yusei frowned as he fiddled with the engine of his D-Wheel. I'm getting ready to enter a dueling tournament. I wish I could watch you duel, Judai said wistfully. You can, Yusei typed with a smile. It took some time for me to figure out how to make it work, but if you follow this link, you should be able to watch the live stream of my duel. Even though it's being broadcast from a news channel that, from my perspective,  won't exist for another thirty years? Judai wondered. Yup :) Yusei replied. Inserting emojis into texts didn't come naturally to him, but he was trying to be more expressive, for Judai's sake. He really did feel bad that he'd been too chicken to reciprocate the hand gesture. He hoped today, he could make Judai understand. %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% At home in his Osiris Red room, Judai stared up at the ceiling, frowning. "What's the matter?" Shou asked. "Yusei wants me to watch him duel," Judai explained. "So, are you going to?" Shou wondered. "I don't know," Judai mumbled. "He really upset me the other day. He's just so...cold sometimes. He acts like he doesn't care about anything at all." "I think he cares about you," Shou disagreed. "I know he does," Judai admitted. "I just wish he wasn't afraid to show it. In front of everyone. Because I'm not. I got no shame. I'll shout my gay crush on Yusei from the rooftops." "That's the spirit," Shou chuckled. "But, not everybody is as fearless as you. For some people, saying stuff like that is hard, even if you really mean it." "True, I guess," Judai considered. He decided he would tune into the live stream after all. Unfortunately, he'd dithered so much that he'd already missed Yusei's first match. "YUSEI FUDO EFFORTLESSLY DEFEATS CHALLENGER ENJO MUKURO!" the announcer recapped. "Fudo-san, is there anything you'd like to say to our viewers at home right now?" He stuck a microphone in Yusei's face as he braked his D-Wheel and removed his helmet. "Um......" Yusei hesitated. "There's nothing I'd really like to say, but there's something I'd like to do." "Oh?" the announcer replied. "And what is that?" Yusei looked into the camera and took a deep breath. "This is for you, Judai," he announced. And then, in front of the announcer, his opponent, and a whole crowd of spectators, plus thousands more people who were watching the live stream, he did it. He blushed, a wry smile on his face, as he bent his fingers into the shape of a heart. Judai blushed and almost dropped his phone in shock. "He....he really did it!" he gasped. He was so moved he wanted to cry. "Wow," Shou noted, peering down at the screen. "He must really love you, Judai." "You know what," Judai said through happy tears, "I really love him, too."

And on the new protag: let’s give speculation a try!

I’m super late to the party, but I’ve just been thinking about him. If any this turns out to be true, chalk it up to dumb luck.

From what we know:

Yusaku already looks like he’s going to be a joy forever. Aesthetically, I like him quite a lot—the smart bluish-black blazer, his bright green eyes, his quasi-aggressive stance, his furrowed brow. His hair is insane by most standards, but for a YGO protag it feels almost lowkey.

We only have one picture of him, but in it he gives off a very no-nonsense vibe, like he’ll fight you in the desert using nothing but a spoon and still win five times out of five. Okay, okay—he’s probably not that tough. I see the general consensus is that he’s either stoic and dismissive, or super timid. If he does turn out to be standoffish, then it’s definitely a mask. If you don’t want to be noticed, being perceived as mean is a good way to get people to steer clear of you. And if he’s just timid? That would be great, too. Given the confidence of the first three, and the (at times, false) bravado of the most recent two, to have a protag start off lacking in self assurance would be such a refreshing take.

But you know what really throws me about this kid? First episode, he “decides to give dueling a try”. Good lord, he isn’t a duelist! In a world that revolves around dueling… how?!

Well, there have obviously been non-duelists in previous installments. But never a protag. This is a first—even Yuma, despite his lack of skill, was a duelist in that first episode. And yet, our cotton candy dream boy may not be. I’m very interested to see where that goes, and what pushes Yusaku to finally start dueling.

Story takes place in a high school setting, and along with what he looks like, he has to be in the 15-17 age range—so for sure older than our previous two. Given all the setting hopping we did in Arc V, I think the setting in this new story will remain relatively consistent: school, the VR world (whatever that may be), the city he’s in, home. But if the VR world is anything like action fields are, then it really won’t feel like we have a consistent setting—which I would count as a good thing. ‘High school setting’ reminds me of GX, and if there’s one thing that fatigued me about that spinoff, it was it’s static setting (at least during seasons one and two).

Now, moving on to light speculation: 

I don’t think Yusaku is going to start out with any friends. Just like with dueling, I feel that the writers are going to have him start from zero and work his way up. In this scenario, his first friend will likely be the person who challenges him to a duel in episode 1. This duel will be 100% inconsequential and fun. Fair chance that this person will also become his ‘friendly’ rival, someone who will encourage him to keep at dueling because they recognize his talent for it, and he inspires them to do their best in turn.

Under no circumstance will this person be his ‘antagonistic’ rival. Given the nature of YGO I don’t think they’d give a friendless protag an adversary right off the bat. It also wouldn’t make much sense to expect a shy person to try something new because someone is antagonizing them for no other reason than to stoke their own ego. Bullies only inspire people to retreat further into their shells.

Now, if he does have friends? Only one. This’ll be a childhood friend, possibly with their families having ties to one another (think Yuya and Yuzu). This person will be his foil: outgoing to his shy, aggressive to his passive, ambitious to his laid-back (at least as far as dueling goes). If he already has such a friend, it’ll take something besides encouragement to finally get him to try dueling. No one changes unless they have to. In this case, he’ll likely be faced with some sort of conflict on episode 1—and whoever presents him with that conflict has a good chance of becoming his ‘antagonistic’ rival.

And speaking of that duel? Yusaku likely isn’t a duelist, but I fully believe he will have a deck on episode 1—and I think he will have had it for a while, to the point that he’ll have all of his trap/spell/monster effects memorized (so no Yuri versus Asuka hijinks). He just will have never played against anyone. Him having a deck and knowing it well will put him in a better position to win his first duel, which I think for someone as reserved as him is an absolute must.

Moving on to broader topics, this post does a better job at explaining the meanings behind Yusaku’s name than I could in a thousand years. But in short: his given name is made up of the kanji for “game” and “work”, while his last name is made of the kanji for “wisteria tree”

“Game” obviously refers to dueling, as it has for all the previous protags. “Work” is a big vague—but hell, so was “arrow” for Yuya, and in hindsight that can definitely be tied to him. The only thing I can think of with the present information available is that it’s meant to symbolize the effort he’ll put in to overcome his more conservative nature. Maybe putting himself out there—or rather, being dragged out of his comfort zone—will be a major stressor for him. Maybe social tasks that were a breeze for the previous five will be so strenuous that it will be equal to work in his eyes.

As for his last name? Wisteria trees have multiple symbolic meanings, many of which are rather positive. Some, not so much. But even given it’s most negative meanings—uncontrollable greed (voraciousness) and an inability to let go—it still isn’t quite as ominous as ‘sakaki’ was. We can talk about the negative meanings attached to wisteria if and when Yusaku begins to display them; but for now, I’d rather focus on the positive (a new one for me, right?)

Wisteria trees are associated with the celebration of youth, devotion, new beginnings, remembrance, and—this is the one I find the most interesting—longevity (wisteria trees can have unusually long lifespans; the oldest known wisteria tree is apparently around 1,200 years old). So make of that what you will. 

Now, moving on to full-blown, balls-to-the-walls speculation:

Given all that’s gone down with Yuya, it is very, very unlikely that Yusaku’s power (and you just know he’s going to have some power) is going to be tied to anything malicious. Power born of destruction and chaos can be revisited with protags seven and beyond (if we’re so fortunate) but not with number six. Not with Yusaku. It would just come off as repetitive and unoriginal.

Whatever power he has may be neutral, which would be an interesting concept to explore because it’s manifestation would rely solely on his moral alignment. But I’m going to go a step further and say that I think it’ll be benevolent in nature. And Yusaku’s power is tied to benevolence—as opposed to Yuya’s, whose power is malicious and destructive—then the writers could go one of two ways with it: either his mission to aide a larger benevolent force, or he is that benevolent force. 

Personally I favor the latter option, just because it hasn’t been done by the series yet. Of the previous five, we had three who worked with a ‘good’ entity (Yugi, Yusei, and Yuma), and two who possessed dark, god-like powers (Judai and Yuya). Just as we’ve never had a protag that’s worked to aide a malicious force (which would be so cray), we’ve also never had a protag who’s been the physical incarnation of a totally good entity. Yusaku is as good a character as any to have this sort of story told through.

“But PP!” you may say. “That’s boring! A protag with saintly powers would have arrested character development from the start!”

Yeah… not if he’s an asshole.

Well, maybe ‘asshole’ is too strong of a word. We don’t know much of anything about Yusaku outside of his reserved nature (and yet, look at the length of this post…!) But the point is, he may end up being a deeply flawed character, and part of his journey may be reconciling that with the nature of his existence.

How would he do that? This is YGO: he’d do it through his friends, and through communicating with people via dueling. (And other plot-specific ways, but I’ll need at least another sentence of series info before I can stretch that into an essay.)

And now that sure-to-be-incorrect theory is out there, on to my hopes and dreams for the sixth series:

May our young Yusaku be queer as hell. May he have a romantic two-boy friendship. Hell, let’s shoot for the moon—may he even have a canonical boyfriend.

Shit, give us queer characters in general. As much as I love Arc V, it had too much hetero ship teasing for my taste—and idk about y’all, but I’m ready to Make YuGiOh Gay Again. 

Also! Well written female characters! Who maintain their agency from beginning to end and aren’t revealed to be pawns of the Big Bad’s designs! 8)

And speaking of women: A FEMALE BIG BAD. A FEMALE SUPERVILLAIN. PLEASE. MY BODY IS READY.

A big bad directly tied to Yusaku would be hella rad (*looks pointedly at Yusho*)

Oh, and parents? Boy, do I love the Arc V parents! Let’s have some more parents this sixth installment! Good ones! Bad ones! Strict ones! Odd ones! Abusive ones! Adopted ones! ALL CANON YGO PARENTS COUNT AS LEGAL TENDER ON THIS BLOG, SO LONG AS THEY ARE NOT ABSENT OR DEAD.

Mmm, I always thought it would be interesting to have another protag with a brother or sister. Yuma had a big sister; maybe Yusaku could have a younger sibling? Or older—it doesn’t really matter to me, so long as they’re plot relevant.

A return to the previous summoning methods? Like, the plot doesn’t have to revolve around them like they did in Arc V, but to have them occasionally show up alongside the potential new summoning method would be A+.

Solid and consistent pacing. if Arc V has one major flaw, it is pacing. Hoping to see the new series succeed where Arc V fucked up.

SO I FINALLY FINISHED 5D’S! And what better way to celebrate than to go through my favorite characters as…briefly as I can

Slight spoilers I suppose?

Let’s work it up from 10 to 1

10- Jack

Was gonna go with lucchiano but who am I kidding Jack’s great. He’s a drama queen with an even more dramatic wardrobe. Never afraid to express himself and just bluntly blurt out what he thought.

His obsession with Cup ramen is on another level but what can I say? Love is love, Jack x cup ramen for life *wipes tears*

But seriously speaking he’s great. His very first line was enough proof of that. He just… apologized for being late then declared “I AM KING” like the…king he is.

My favorite Rival character still remains Manjoume… and… Yeah I still prefer Kaiba over Jack but damn was he a good rival.

Like he has to be the only Rival so far with an actual past with the Main character, no? That was pretty interesting because usually, the protagonist meets the rival somewhere during the first season and we go off from there. But here we had to go through their backstory to know what their relationship was fully like. Nice touch.

9- Aki

Hands down my favorite female protagonist so far. I adore Anzu and feel neutral enough about Asuka but Aki? NAH MAN AKI’S AMAZING. I think 5D’s just does the best job with its female characters. Like it actually gives them big enough roles. I loved how Aki got her own episodes…be it the D-wheel ones or just… fillers.

Her crush on Yusei was justified, at least it seems so to me, and honestly never got obnoxious. Sure she had a moment here and there but it was honestly never a bad thing. Hell faith shipping in general isn’t exactly a bad Idea.

Speaking of shipping, is anyone going to talk about her little frienshipmaybemore moments with Crow? No? Ok…

But anyway, overall, SHE’S AMAZING AND I LOVE HER. There was more to her than some boring pining love interest and it shows with each episode. So when people say she has a great personality, they’re actually talking about her personality. AKI RULES

8- Mikage

Would’ve been way WAY higher on the list if the thing with Jack was thrown out the widow.

That being said I think she’s the more mature of the Jack-crazy trio. Like sure she was just as into him as the other two, but in some scenes she was a lot more tolerable.

But that honestly might just be my bias towards this amazing woman speaking.

She’s devoted to her work, gentle, caring, gorgeous and just all around a wonderful character to see.

I loved most of her scenes in the series, and the fact that there was more to her than just the jack part. She actually had an important part to play in many episodes and honestly proved herself to be a very fun character. I just wish they gave a her little more screentime than what she got.

A lot of lost potential there- I mean come on.

7- Rua /Lua

He reminds me of Judai WAY too much. LIKE WAAAAY too much not to be on this list. The guy’s adorable. And I love how they made him the emotional one. Like they could’ve gone with the “the boy is always rowdy and tOUGH” stereotype, but they didn’t. Sure, ruka (who I don’t like as much) was much more gentle, but it was much easier to see Rua cry than it was to see her do so. It’s just fun is all.

I also adore his deck and that little theme that played whenever he dueled… Plus his relationship with Jack and Yusei…GOLD GOLD.

6- Ushio

I made a whole post about Him, You think he wouldn’t be in my Top 10? Well think again. Great development would see through again.

5- Sherry Leblanc

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA SHERRY.

What you just witnessed in the line above is my internal reaction to literally any scene this beautiful badass woman happens to be in.

She’s just amazing. She has this really… tough energy IDK HOW TO DESCRIBE IT BUT SHE’S A REALLY INTIMIDATING WOMAN. But not in a bad way, oh nonononono in a REALLY REALLY GOOD WAY OKAY.

Her character arcs and episodes somehow felt…really separate from the whole team 5D’s shenanigans even though they were basically connected…

Like she had her own motivation that didn’t particularly rely on bonds, but was still willing to accept and even form a bond with the whole team.

Revenge is kinda hot ngl.

Okay no it’s not. But seeing a vengeful character that WASN’T played off as evil or particularly wrong amidst a bunch of friendship is magic ones was pretty refreshing.

The moment she took her helmet off when dueling yusei I was HOOKED and so was Aki but shhhhhh.

But damn I love what they did with her at the end, Rushed as it may have been. It took her joining with Z-one briefly and dueling Aki and Crow ( a very underrated duo btw) to realize that maybe thinking of the past and only the past was not a very good idea.

Anyway love her. And her duels are always a delight to watch.

4- Placido

Before he showed up, sherry was supposed to be 4th but here we are. Placido Placido Placido. I want to make it clear that…I really couldn’t care less about Aporia as a whole. But Placido and Lucchiano were pretty fun characters.

Now I finally get to talk about my beloved.

This dude was…the biggest mood. EVER.

He would hang up in that third one’s face like it was nothing and constantly ignore his boring ass. Oh. You have a plan? Ok. I don’t care. It’s boring. I’m placido and I’ll do what I want. Kiss my D-wheel ass.

He has a lot of hilariously sassy lines, which include and I quote:

“I don’t know what god wants you to do.”

“But I won’t accept it!”

The guy just does not care and I’m living for it.

Not to mention his bee analogies which- Why have I not seen anyone point out????? BEE ANALOGIES COME ONNNNNNNN

3- Kiryuu

Edgy dude with pretty hair. Also gay. Also the crash town arc. Need I say more?

I will anyway.

Honestly dark signer Kiryuu was pretty fun to me with all the crazy laughter and stuff…

Then past/ flashbacks Kiryuu was just as interesting but in a completely different way. Sure he didn’t get as many episodes or screentime as the rest, but what I saw of him was more than enough for me to care about the Character. Like unlike the old satellite gang (Rally and the other two whose names I can’t even remember) I actually gave a shit about this guy when bad stuff happened to him.

Not to mention his growth. Like…He went through reverse/ negative development, then uphill by the end of the signers’ ark with all the…dying in your hands gayly stuff, then downhill again by the beginning of the crosstown arc….aaaaand back up and higher than ever by the end of it. Basically the fact that his development wasn’t always constant just added some spice.

Plus his dynamic with his ex-teammates…team….satisfaction (Try saying that with a straight face) was always pretty entertaining, especially his with Yusei.

Speaking of which...

With all my talk about him…and…my profile picture…and URL, it may come as a surprise that he’s not number 1 here, but honestly it’s so close you could call it a tie.

I just get real sad when I think about what it must have been like growing up like That y'know!!! especially since I believe he legit just has some underlying mental health issues that he was never able to deal with and all the stress of growing up in satellite would have just made it so much worse for him ;-; just give this guy a therapist and some healthy coping mechanisms please ;-; also more specifically I think he has issues with self-perception and impulse control like I feel one night post crash town he decided he was sick of his hair being longer and he cut it back to a style more similar to what he had as a kid and suddenly he wasn't himself anymore he could just see the dark signer version of him and it Freaked Him Out. I headcanon he has a lot of difficulties reconciling everything that's happened to him because it was so much in such a short period of time so he Blocks It Out so he doesn't have to think about it. trauma sucks, man.

D: fuck canon - I THINK KALIN AND CARLY SHOULD BE FRIENDS AND I AM RIGHT. they were both sidelined in season 2 (other than crash town) and I think they deserve to hang out while everyone else is busy. I feel like they'd get along pretty well together in general actually. also kalin would be there to help carly when she starts remembering stuff about the dark signers (I think her just completely forgetting forever is Bullshit) and carly can help kalin out with readjusting to just being a living person basically lol. they're mlm/wlw solidarity (carly's bi) and kalin helps act as carly's wingman when she goes after jack. also they talk about Gender together because I headcanon carly as a trans woman and kalin as (masc-alligned) non-binary!!! friends!!!!!!! Why I like them/why I don’t

Why wouldn’t I like Crow, he’s a wonderful bird dad to several children, has the biggest heart of probably anyone in the 5Ds universe, and actively says fuck cops for 99.99% of his existence in the series. Plus, his Blackwings are broken as fuck and I love them <3

What I like about their appearance

I like the M marker he has in the middle of his forehead because it makes me think of Maine Coon cats, and it’s probably the most interesting marker I’ve seen. Why M? What does it mean? Is M for Murder? Maybe. Also, I like Crow’s washer earrings. They look neat.

Do I prefer their dub names or original names?

Crow’s name doesn’t change between sub/dub so I can get away with not answering this one.

I’ll probably change my mind later, but since this is the first one I thought of, I’ll go with it: I love the episode where Crow duels this old man to try and convince him to leave his house, and by the end of it he assigns himself as his new son. Old guy got assigned dad at Crow and I thought it was really funny/sweet.

Least favourite moment

The third to last (I think) episode of 5Ds where Crow is a cop. Makes literally no sense with his character background where he’s consistently said fuck cops for most of his life, and had nothing to do with his original goal, which was getting out of Satellite. Plus, he already had Blackbird Delivery Service, so if they wanted to do a career advancement for Crow like they were doing with Yusei and Jack, they could have done something with that. I’ll die mad about how 5Ds did my son.

Would I fuck, marry or kill them

I legally cannot fuck or marry Crow when I see him as gay, and he’s got two perfectly good husbands in alternate timelines, but I refuse to kill him because his kids/husbands would be sad, so. None of the above <3
