In a TMA AU, what do you think Toby would be an Avatar of?

Ohhhh what a good question. Some characters are really difficult to pin down for specific entities, and some are way easier (for me, for example, Jim would be of The Hunt, Claire of The Dark, etc (unashamedly stolen from @beannary 's Flesh and Bone TMA AU fic, I love it lots and actually got me into the podcast))

These are very loose ideas, but I think either The End, or The Lonely. The End, having the deaths of not just family, but constant social and interpersonal deaths being a theme for him. The Lonely is an easy choice as well, as I headcanon him to have abandonment issues with people he's closest too (cough cough Airheads cough cough "I thought since we'd found it together, we'd always do this together")

i've always been a multifandom blog! but when i first made this, i was in my post HTTYD2/ pre Hidden World sweet spot of loving HTTYD (still do!)

my username is actually a reference to the Riders of Berk episode where they introduced one of my favorite species, the Flightmare :3c

(in the episode, while trying to find a way to divert the Flightmare's food source- a bioluminescent algae- away from Berk, some of the riders' dragons eat it. They're basically glow sticks LWSKANBD, and Gobber says "Your dragons are glowing. I must still be dreaming.")

You smile when Zach opens the car door for you, mumbling a little thank you as you take his extended hand. He gives you a little kiss on the back of your hand, the heat in your cheeks not failing to rise.

You met Zach a short while ago, but the spark between you didn't go unnoticed when he took the bold step of asking you out. You were over the moon; you've had your eye on him for some time and he seems like the sweetest guy ever, so you definitely couldn't say no.

But your mind loves to play tricks with you, and you got scared if this step is the right one or not.

All because of them.

Your ex-lover.

You loved them so much, but they never reciprocated it, leaving you a broken mess. Zach was the one who made you realise your standards in lovers has been set so low, that when your date is over an hour late, and just comes to tell you they'll be leaving in 20 minutes, it's all okay. Why? Because atleast they took out time from their "busy" schedule to tell you about their shortage of time.

Since your first date, Zach never fails to show up with flowers at your doorstep, always one of your favorite kind. He'll take your hand and lead you to his car, opening your door for you, and when you reach the restaurant, he'll pull out your chair for you, let you sit and push it back in.

And right now, you've just been to one of the best dates you've ever had with him. It was funny; he took you to a simple fast food restaurant but he wanted you both to dress up as fancy as if you're going to a five star michelin restaurant. You both definitely looked like doofs in your fancy clothes getting all up in your burgers and fries, but you both sure did have fun.

But, unlike always, Zach doesn't drop you at your home after the date. Instead, he insisted he takes you somewhere "special".

He takes you by your hand, and leads you to the edge of a cliff he's driven up to. The sun is setting, and you both sit down in the grass, the pinkish hues cascading a glow on you both.

Zach's arm wraps around your shoulders and you rest your head on his shoulder, both of you sitting in comfortable silence as you watch the sun slowly slump down.

"This place reminds me so much of you," he whispers, not wanting to ruin the serene moment you both are sharing.

You look up to him, an expectant glint in your eye. "Why's that?" You ask him.

"Because," he takes in a deep breathe, "each time I look at this sunset, watching the day slowly slip into the night, I realise how extremely lucky I am to have someone like you with me. I spend my days thinking about you, being with you, and I take this moment to understand how grateful I am to have you by my side. This, this beauty in front of us," he shifts his head towards you, "it reminds me of you. Of your beauty, and how perfect you are, just like this sunset,"

You swear you could've started sobbing at that moment. You need a moment to realise this is all real; you are sitting with a boy who makes you feel so special, gives you all the love you could've asked for. Relationships aren't meant to make you feel bad, or ignored. They are supposed to make you feel loved.

"Zach," you say softly, taking his hand in yours and pressing a kiss to his knuckles, "you mean so much to me. Everything you do, it all means the whole world to me. No one's ever done that to me before, Zach, no one. I didn't know I can ever feel so special,"

"That's the least I can do for you," he presses a kiss to your hairline. "I love you so much, bub, so so much,"

You smile softly, taking his face in your hands and pressing a kiss to his lips, trying to convey all your love through this gesture.

"I love you more."
