If I had a nickel every time Aerith had a Soldier falling from the roof of her church & ends up becoming her boyfriend, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

I know she met Cloud before hand, but still. He fell through the roof on their second encounter.

What did you think about Zack's portions of the story, especially since devs are deliberately keeping everything vague for the next game and there wasn't much focus on his side.

SUPER interested in this part. Even leading up to release, I had no real predictions because it's so out of left field. It's definitely their ace in the hole, especially for people who know everything about the "old" canon (including CC and whatnot in this).

I like what I saw. Particularly that grave conversation with Marlene about the man whose hair was long..."and grey." Probably one of my favorite "new" moments in the story they've told...

Light light very light predictions are that he'll have something integral to do with saving everyone (obviously), since this game is very much a team effort. But I have this odd sense, especially after seeing the sort of limbo state that Aerith is in, that she and Zack may end up together but in one of the fractured realities. Originally it seemed like Sephiroth "remaking" the story, but he seems to have left Aerith in a position where she can nip and tuck the timeline on her own. I'm just so excited about where that stuff is going, I can't lie...I suppose it's wishful thinking that they don't both bite the big one this time around but alas. I'm getting old and sentimental 😂

‘We aren’t welcome here,’ Zack tells her, but she shakes her head.

‘They’re afraid,’ she tells him, is sure of that as she makes her way up the path to the door. It opens easier this time. ‘They’ve had so many intruders that they’re afraid.’

‘Who are afraid?’

He sounds – he does not sound scared, Aerith would never do him the dishonour of accusing him of being afraid, but he does not like ghosts.

‘Whoever is still here.’ Raising her voice, she calls, ‘it’s me again! I brought a friend! We mean no harm!’

The air is cold, stagnant, unwelcoming. Something watches from behind the walls, waiting, waiting, hesitant, expectant. Aerith draws another breath, turns to Zack, who’s hand is resting on his sword hilt, ready to draw it at a moment’s notice.

‘Don’t do that,’ she says, ‘that’s threatening. We mean no harm, I said that, so don’t make them think we do.’

She can feel his eyebrows climb, but he does as bid, takes his hand from his sword and clenches his fists instead. His gauntlets creak as his knuckles tighten, but his hands stay by his sides.
