꒰ᐢ. .ᐢ꒱₊˚⊹ event 19 starter/plotting call!! I'm late my apologies- but below you can find who my muses are going with and what they're up to! Pls reply with who you'd like a starter for/ limit is 3 per mun, and I'm allowing 3 starter slots for each muse :3 and if you want to plot like and I'll be in your DMS!! Also my bad that below they're not in small front mobile won't let me do it so..whoops also here's the Pinterest if you can wanna know how they're dressed !!
elena gilbert - going with elijah mikaelson 0/3
she's enjoying getting to spend this romantic night with her life, even if he has commitment issues she's enjoying it.. I'm down for her to be an emotional support girlie/ the drunk girl who's your bestie in the bar bathroom..if you planning for any of your muses to be having a rough night, Elena wouldn't mind listening or being a shoulder to cry on.
homura akemi - going with Madoka Kaname 0/3
it's homura or course she's a little on edge who's know if that evil cat is lurking. Most likely you can find her with Madoka, but of course she's kind of enough/ though she may not look it, if your character needs any help- or whatever! She needs more friends let this be a night for her to make some friends.
Jinx- going with mittens. 0/3
It's jinx, she's chaotic maybe she'll be swinging by a chandelier- or let this be the first night she gets drunk. Will someone get hurt ?? Idk?? But for real she'll be on her best behavior with mittens- she has a reputation to uphold and a crush she can't shake !! But if a muse wants to scheme with jinx- I'm so down.
nami - going with Sanji Vinsmoke 0/3
nami is happy to be having a gorgeous nightout, a chance to dress up and show Sanji just exactly who he's with !! You can find her on the dance floor - and maybe pickpocketing.. there's stuff here- how much money do you think it's worth ?? 👀 If someone wants to thief with her - I think that'd be fun
Vaggie,- blind date with Alice Cullen 0/3
Vaggie thinks blind dates are dumb- and isn't too sure why she can't let herself relax and enjoy the scene..maybe because she has a girlfriend - she can't remember and should be without instead ?? Idk?? But yeah- i can see her having a bar fight - ?? Masquerade fight ?? She's just not too thrilled to be here- and doesn't feel too in her zone.. though she looks good in a dress .
draculaura - going with Louise Belcher 0/3
Draculaura loves dances !! She's gonna be thrilled- kind of sad she can't see her reflection, but she can trust Louise to tell her how she looks..
moxxie- going with * borat voice* my wife/millie 0/3
Oh how he's so excited to be on such a nice date with the love of his life !! He loves all things flashy; romantic.. will be seen dancing on the dance floor- acting like Millie if the only thing on this earth :)- though feel free to bug them it's funny.
martha hatter,- blind date with juniper andromeda - 0/3
she knows it's just a fun little dance- nothing serious she's happy to be there.. to be kind and fun to the person she's tagging along with- would love for her to make more friends here!!
stiles stilinski- blind date with kaoru sakurayashiki 0/3 ! Legit just made a bestie with this date- finds him cool as hell- wants to know how to skate- and let's dye our hair together ! But for real- besides just having a fun bestie date with Kaoru, he's gonna be eyeing down a certain someone - starts with e ends with rika..def a little jealous if not a lot of her date- but he won't let u know. Def the type to let himself get a little too loose, and regret it the next morning.
sanna marchon- going w zash! 0/3
her husband, she's not too sure why's he's so overly protective at the event.. she just wants him to let loose ,mainly there making sure he's having fun. Would love for her to make some new friends - she's really sweet, just her husband is a liiiitle overprotective.
tifa lockhart - blind date with Nina Zenik 0/3
Finally a night off from work, she's glad to be there, especially to have a fun outgoing with the bestie aerith.. she'll be a fun, flirty date for sure. Down to be anyone's friend !
mabel pines- going with Riley , 0/3
Of course Mabel is sunshine and rainbows - she will be doing the most awkward dance moves you'll ever see ..but she's shameless she'll be doing her best at trying to get their date to open up- I mean?? Dream come true he's a vampire wowza.
calcifer- blind date with sorcha, 0/3 he just came here for the food - and because if howl and Sophie went ig..he has to come along- what else would he do?? I think they wouldn't be a great date.. but he doesn't rly care for this scene, might get drunk will see
yor forger- going with shanks 0/3
yor is most likely going to get drunk- and act really goofy and funny - and drunk yor will be doing her best to woo shanks.. - but she's also gonna be keeping a protective eye on anya- even if she doesn't quite remember her.
bmo- blind date with Faye Chamberlain 0/3
Of course bmo- will try to be a great date, wearing their best outfit - and making sure not to step on their dates toe if they want to dance.. oh bmo- will love to dance !! Also just happy to be there and experiencing this as a human.
jackie taylor- blind date with tigris 0/3
This is definitely taking some adjustments seeing as this isn't quite a 90s party- but where the drinks are that where you can find jackie. I want to say shed her best to be as good as a date as she can be.. with her trauma she's burying deep down..
mari perry- blind date with Marley Bishop 0/3
Mari’s first dance- and first time drinking.. will be a fun time- but definitely I'm excited for her to get out and make new friends - and be a menace to her date. Lol sorry Megan and Gareth.
mary- going with gojo satoru 0/3
she's open to having fun, especially someone as handsome as gojo.. she's there to have fun and take it easy.
blair waldorf- blind date with elira -0/3
If there's a party- there's gonna be a crash out + Blair will try to present herself as a classy date- thinking the other is lucky to be going with her..but I can see towards the end of the night her getting too drunk..but hey!! She's messy what can we do
sara- going with Claudia- 0/3
She has trust issues- but is trying to trust Claudia especially when going to a dance.. she has her defense up- and will not only be protective of Claudia but also of herself..idk if she'll end up drinking from someone - who knows ??? Idk.
kim young-mi- going with jun-ho 0/3
She's still adjusting from coming out of the games she's nervous.. feeling shyer then usual- she wants to enjoy herself but is finding it hard to adjust to the outside again.. will most likely be staying close to people she knows - searching for hyun-ju, sticking by jun-ho.
ji-yeong- blind date with Eloise 0/3
ji-yeong is laid back, doesn't care too much for the dance.. especially given how she doesn't feel too deserving of it.. but hey if she can make her dates time easier - and listen she will.. least she can do. -might drink a little.
bubbles- blind date with winter ! 0/3
Oh trust me bubbles took a while getting ready for this event and is excited for the opportunity to meet people- and see where the night goes.. she'll be sweet as sugar to her date- even excited to dance.
nora bishop- going with husband Henry Bishop 0/3. Honestly she feels like they're young again- but this isn't prom- but a masquerade and it's nice to have the chance to see her children in what could've been prom attire- that she other wise would've missed out on.. She's cautious, staying sober for the occasion, even if the alcohol is tempting.
Iris-going solo 0/3
She's excited to have fun and taste freedom, and because she news she can definitely use this event as meeting new friends and people.. shes kind, is a bad liar, and I can imagine she'd make a good friend . Especially people who can show her how friends and healthy relationships should be!!

sith inquisitor story is boring... let's fix it
so... i've been thinking about what exactly was wrong with it and how it could've been improved, and one of the things was that writers really failed the whole "old ways vs new ways" dynamic between inquisitor and Thanaton, because despite them being a slave (most likely from non imperial space, probably alien, who discovering force much later in life and never even heard about it before) it's INQUISITOR who actually relies on the old ways (literally ancient ghosts) and just so happens to be from an old powerful bloodline as an (absolutely unneeded) explanation for inquisitor being able to shoot lightnings out of their ass.
SOooo instead, try to imagine this:
Inquisitor is still a slave, but that's it. no distant fancy bloodline, no ghost grandpa to save the day, nope! you're on you own BUT you have a lot of raw power, which naturally draws Zash's attention.
Instead of getting random artifacts the whole first chapter (which you do but about it later), the plot is about inquisitor kind of learning about Vitiate and Zash theorizing about how does one manage to live so long. And to spice things up, from time to time she says stuff like: "well maybe his body DID get old, he just changes them... oh well :)". So they still go to planets, but this time they're picking up valuable information related to Vitiate and immortality, maybe relics that make you (who isn't dumb) VERY suspicious about Zash's intentions.
THANATON IS THE ONE WHO SHOULD BE USING GHOSTS, and inquisitor is the one who should be searching for possibilities to cut his connections to them! So they have to use the most unorthodox things (at least by empire standards) to win: alliance with aliens, imperials (that most sith have a very low opinion of), non-force sensative people, technical weapons, traps, anything that is considered "weak" by the """true""" sith.
and your companions would actually make much more sense: Ashara - there are things to learn even from your enemy, Xelek is a proof that you can be any species and be powerful non the less, Talos, a talented historian, helps you to learn what artifacts/ghosts Thanaton uses (despite being non-force sensitive), Andronicus as an unconventional ally that most sith would dispose of immediately or at least wouldn't even consider keeping him around, but you gain more by just being a good and respectful leader. and Khem... maybe Khem is learning to adapt in a new world? And you constantly challenge him to stop concentrating on his past?
you know make the story really show how stagnating the empire actually is. LS inquisitor actually tries to improve things, meanwhile DS inquisitor is just like malgus, war is a war we have to win no matter what BUT also inquisitor (as a former slave) is much more cruel and manipulative especially towards high ranking imperials and sith traditionalists. Cycle of abuse and all that.
and in the end of it all, you also help some dark consul members (with diplomacy on Voss, and with your unorthodox mini army of aliens on Correlia like JC) so you're allowed to face Thanaton on Korriban like SW faced Baras. Using your new knowledge, you cut his connection to force ghosts showing that his power wasn't really his own, and that to become stronger you have to be able to learn and change
...anyway thanks for joining me in my "bioware just hire me" rant, i'm here every day of the week

@vcndetta asked: ❝ come on, we have stuff to do today. ❞ ( jabba and zash )
"Fine, fine. Coming." Zash picked up his lightsabers, putting them into their holsters on his belt. "So where are we going and what do we have to do." No rest for the wicked it seemed. But Jabba was his boss so he wouldn't complain.

Power Games
since I've been on my roleswap bullshit, here is a little peek at how Ven's doing in the role of Sith Inquisitor (hint: not well). If you look closely you can see the moment both Andronikos and I looked at Ven and went "oh this is a baby"
Andronikos hadn’t expected to wake to the barrel of a blaster against his forehead, but then again he was the idiot who’d thrown in with the Sith.
“How frequently do you make your reports?” snarled the Sith. In the dark, he could barely make out her shape; her black eyes were luminous as they caught what little light there was. Too bad they were sparking in anger.
Mask off, her voice sounded different – Republic, for one thing. Her full mouth displayed her displeasure with a dramatic curl of her lip. Andronikos would bet anything she wore the thing just to hide her expressions.
“What the hell are you talking about?”
“Don’t play stupid,” the Sith spat. “You’re Zash’s little pirate pet, and I know she wants you on this ship. The navigational blocks aren’t enough? The threats to innocents? Forcing me to do every last bit of the Empire’s dirty work until I break isn’t fucking enough for her?”
He realised with a sinking feeling that he had stumbled into something darker than typical Sith bullshit.
“Maybe not,” he said slowly. “But I don’t take orders from Zash, Sith.”
“I’m not a damn Sith!” she cried, her voice breaking, but she tossed the blaster at the wall. Andronikos sat up warily.
She was just a kid, he realised. He’d buy it if she said she was twenty, but nothing more than that. For all her cynical comments on Tatooine, there was only so much this young woman would have had time to see.
“She’s watching you that closely?” he asked. That didn’t sit right with him. There were some things he drew the line at, and freedom was too dear to Andronikos to make this kind of thing ok.
“I left Balmorra without doing the job she wanted, and the ship shut down. I tried to avoid working for the war effort, and an officer tracks me down with orders to kill prisoners until I complied. I tried to steal a different ship, and some fuck pops out of the woodwork to stop me, because apparently Imperial Intelligence has nothing better to do!”
She rubbed her face ruefully, leaning against the wall. With a clatter of armour, she slid to the floor and hugged her knees to her chest. It was almost funny, seeing such a brawny woman curled up like a toddler. Andronikos wasn’t laughing.
“At least you’re telling me the truth,” she said to her knees.
“How can you tell?”
The look she gave him was withering. “Same way I know Zash is using me. Same way I know she won’t have me killed. I can tell.”
She looked away, laughing bitterly. “And I’d bet you anything that’s part of the power Zash is so fucking obsessed with.”
“Ok… So I’m not gonna mess with the Force stuff, but I know ships,” he said. She stared at him like she’d suddenly stopped understanding Basic. “Want me to take a look at the navigation systems?”
She narrowed her eyes.
“You’re serious,” she said. “You want to help me.”
“What can I say?” Andronikos said. “Pirates like freedom.”
She rolled her shoulders and stood slowly, looking thoughtful.
“It doesn’t fix the other things,” she said. “The POWs they’ll gladly throw away just to keep me in line. Whatever the hell Zash really has planned for me. And I bet this ship is being tracked in a couple ways, just in case.”
She pushed her tendrils back over her shoulders, lifting her chin with a defiant expression. It was the first time she’d looked both powerful and comfortable.
“It’ll help, though,” she said. “And as much as I hate it, I know how to play a long game. The Sith have all their power games, right? Maybe I can get control over Zash.”
“You’re getting all this from me offering to look at the navicomputer?”
She shrugged ruefully.
“It’s easier to plan when I have more than me on my side,” she said. “If you’re in?”
“Something tells me you already know my answer,” Andronikos said. She huffed out the tiniest of laughs and, to his surprise and mild offense, saluted him. Before he could ask her why the hell she’d done that, she’d left. He shook his head. He’d have to be careful around her, but he already knew that. At least this way he knew what she’d be looking for, and that he didn’t want to work against her.
And she’d left the blaster. He picked it up and tucked it away. It had been damaged when she threw it, but there might still be something he could do with it. He’d help the kid. He just wasn’t dumb enough to forget how ready she’d been to kill him.
#someday I'll write about Not Ven in the roleswap but oh my god it's so juicy#just considering how to force her through the whole storyline opens up a host of angsty options#swtor#roleswap au#my writing#sith inquisitor#swtor oc#my ocs#ven: never done adopting new family#andronikos revel

npc ask game; The Master (from the Revanite quest on Dromun Kass)?
Hi! Sorry! I originally couldn’t answer this, because Alderaan and the Revanite b-plot were both a disaster and I had to resolve them. (These things are related because when I originally played through, I thought that when I closed Act 1 by confronting Zash, I might lose access to Act 1 quests. So Ahene went running around cleaning up every old quest in the quest log, and so she did the Revanite quest right before the finale of Act 1. And then it… turned out to be extremely important for character growth. Despite happening at the wrong time. Oops.)
So instead of being the Dromund Kaas planet quest, the initial Revanite plot turned into the main sideplot of Act 1. If you don’t want spoilers about specific plot twists in Liminality—which you probably do because you sent me an ask, but everyone else—now is the time to look away.
All looked away? Good, great, fantastic.
So the way the plotline starts is that Aleeleti, the friend who introduces Ahene to the Broken Chain, is of course a Revanite. And then the questgiver shows up to blackmail Ahene into spying on the Revanites, saying that if she doesn’t, he’ll just report that the whole Broken Chain is involved, and that won’t be hard to sell at all. So Ahene has to deal with the fact that a) her least complicated friend is actually putting everyone at risk, and b) now she needs to betray said friend, which she is really not on board with doing.
So this means that the bit on Nar Shaddaa with the vault is a Bonding Activity (because Ahene manages to get herself recruited after Balmorra), and also kind of a Revanite Trial, and she is coming to the conclusion that she honestly does not really care about Revan but these people are somehow the most reasonable Sith in the galaxy despite being a cult dedicated to a long-dead historical figure who didn’t live in the Empire anyway.
A bunch more stuff happens on Alderaan. The mask of Revan is involved. Those two Revanites who both want it? They go to Alderaan. As per the plot, they both try to get Ahene to give it to them. Not as per the plot, she says no. You both want to be the one to decide what to do with it, she says, but that’s not either of your calls. It’s your boss’s call, actually. The only person she will give this mask to is your boss.
She’s still not sure whether to betray them or to confess. She doesn’t want to betray them, but she’s… not really sure they’ll let her live if she confesses.
Cue the arrival of Tari Darkspanner, who kind of knew the whole time, and who decides to give Ahene a chance anyway.
This is a gesture of trust that Ahene really, really wouldn’t have expected. It’s barely in her worldview as A Thing People Might Do at all, much less a thing a Sith might do. Much less a thing a Sith with everything to lose might do—and Ahene keeps thinking that so much of the selfishness, so much of the cruelty, comes from having everything to lose.
We learn something about Ahene, here: the fastest way to earn her loyalty is to give her actual trust.
This isn’t something Ahene knew about Ahene until just then.
She goes back and convinces the blackmailing questgiver that he should just bury the whole thing, because if he tries to go after his master no one will believe him, especially with a piece of evidence that means nothing out of context. So he can’t turn in Aleeleti, either. (Possibly she’s keeping the amulet, so that she can threaten to go to her own master with evidence that would be much harder for her to get than for Darth—Charnus’s?—own apprentice to get, and turn the whole thing into nonsense and politics and the Inquisition all over everything, and of course Charnus will throw his apprentice under the bus.) Very much a “if I go down, you go down with me” kind of situation.
Ahene and Tari probably don’t speak again. Unless they do, briefly, when Tari tells her to go her own path afterwards. But Ahene considers herself a Revanite until it becomes clear that the Revanites don’t.
(Tari would have liked to think otherwise. But someone who was trustworthy as an apprentice is not necessarily trustworthy anymore, now that she has so much power. Or if she is, she is perhaps trustworthy to someone else. Darth Marr does not make political alliances—but it has been rumored, recently, that he has. And Tari knows that if Darth Occlus is anything like the strange, desperate little apprentice she met… Ahene would never betray that trust.)

Iressa and/or Auletta for the outfits asks?
Why not both? x2
(sorry for a delayed answer, some unexpected stuff happened irl)
This is Auletta's apprentice outfit, which she wears in chapter 1 of class story. These robes are quite simple, yet they look good on Auletta.
Also, I completely forgot to even mention weapons in other answers, so I'll do so now. The lightsaber Auletta uses is the one that Zash gave her, I just didn't like the in-game model, so I headcanon this one as Zash's lightsaber.
Pieces:
Chest - Dark Acolyte robe, no dye, colors unified; Hands - Juhani gloves; Wrists - Juhani bracers; Waist - Juhani belt; Legs - Apprentice's Force-Lord lower robe (story quest reward); Feet - Juhani boots.
Auletta wears these robes after becoming a Sith Lord in chapters 2 and 3, and it's sort of an upgrade of the previous outfit. I especially love the purple parts because they glow a bit in dark environments.
And the lightsaber is Kallig's (the one that sorcerers receive in game, but with a purple crystal).
Pieces:
Chest - Inquisitor's Renowned robe, black and light gray dye, colors unified; Hands - Inquisitor's Renowned gloves; Wrists - Juhani bracers; Waist - Remnant Dreadguard Inquisitor belt; Legs - Inquisitor's Renowned Feet - Juhani boots.
Here's my favorite outfit of hers, one she gets as the Dark Councilor after chapter 3 and until sometime in KotFE (well, she isn't involved with Zakuul and Alliance stuff, just timeline wise). This is when Auletta starts putting more effort is lightsaber combat and just overall becomes more involved with the war against the Republic, which explains the lack of super long skirts (they would just get in the way in a fight).
The lightsaber is still the one Kallig sends you after, but changed to better reflect Auletta - the hilt is still curved, just slightly modified, the color crystal is different, and the blade itself is a little unstable (mostly to look cool, but Auletta probably has another use for this).
Pieces: Charged Hypercloth Force Expert armor set with primary black dye.
And this is her last outfit at the moment, which she wears after getting back on the Dark Council (which happened about 3 years before Outlander is freed from carbonite). I was pretty lucky to get the dye for this outfit when it didn't cost me a fortune, but it makes it difficult to replicate for her clone.
Pieces: Resilient Warden armor set with black and dark purple dye.
There is supposed to be one more outfit, but at the moment I still can't put it together, so it may be added in the future.
Another thing I wanted to mention, that applies to all of her clothing - Auletta always wear something around her neck to cover the scars left by the slave collar.
--------------
There is a small problem with showing Iressa's outfits - she's an inactive character at the moment, and I cannot access her, so I hope that the screenshots I have saved before are good enough. (bless TOR fashion for helping me find the names of armor sets)
The apprentice outfit that Iressa has in chapter 1 of her class story. Again, a simple outfit with some armoring to better fit for a lot of fighting.
Pieces:
Chest - Juggernaut's Renowned body armor, (probably primary or secondary black dye), colors unified; Hands - Juggernaut's Renowned gloves; Wrists - some small bracers (can't check); Waist - Juggernaut's Renowned belt (not exactly, something similar looking, but again, I can't check); Legs - Zakuulan Security pants; Feet - Juggernaut's Renowned boots.
This is the armor Iressa uses in chapter 2 and on Belsavis. She went for something more imposing to reflect her status as a Sith Lord (hence the cape, for the dramatics). Wish the bandolier wasn't this big though.
Pieces:
Chest - Conquered Exarch chestpiece, (probably) primary black dye, colors unified; Hands - Juggernaut's Renowned gloves; Wrists - some small bracers (can't check) Waist - Canderous Ordo belt; Legs - Doonium Onslaught pants; Feet - Juggernaut's Renowned boots.
And this what she wears when she's named the Emperor's Wrath (on Voss, Corellia and everything after that). This one also costed me a fortune, the set itself isn't cheap on cartel market at all, plus I used a dye from cartel market as well. Looks nice though!
Pieces: Sovereign Executioner armor set with underworld boss dye (or honorable admiral, can't check which one exactly), belt is from Imperial Advisor set.
Interestingly enough, Iressa is another rare Force user of mine who never changed her lightsabers.
#if i had a nickel for every time auletta wore an outfit that's similar to what another sith (whom she despises) wears i'd have two nickels#which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice#(the sith she despises are ffon and malora)#thanks for the ask!#swtor#ask game#oc:auletta#oc:iressa#space-unicorn-dot#i swear auletta is just a walking ace flag aesthetic

Hey! I like to think about Erasermic and I have a mini story I want to share!
Aizawa disliked drinking, he typically didn’t. He has many reasons, it’s could stem from his dad always being drunk and abusing his mom while drinking or from the fact he liked to remember what he did, and couldn’t do that when he was drunk. He had never been drunk unless he was with his husband Hizashi, he trusted him enough to keep himself in check. He was walking home from the bar down the street, with two bottles of white wine. White wine was perfect, while he liked rum it always got him to drunk to quick, white wine didn’t. He always bought two because his counterpart loved to drink. Yamada would drink all of Aizawa’s wine and he spent way too much on it to be sober. His wine was $40 and he just loved the taste, he would rather spend $80 and be drunk than spend $40 and be sober. They had the money too, with his two jobs and his husband’s 3 jobs it was rational to spend the $80. He walked into their shared home, which was a pent house but on a lower floor, right above the parking garage. He opened the door and felt at ease, vulnerable. He only felt vulnerable around Hizashi and loved him for giving him vulnerability. He immediately felt two arms wrap around him and leaned into their touch, “Hey Zash” “Hello Sho-Chan!, your late is everything ok?” I nodded and showed him the bag, he took it from me and sat it on the counter. I took off my shoes and walked to our bed, him following right behind me “I was thinking we could drink and watch a move after your patrol, but before mine” he pulled me close and laid next to me “That sounds nice baby, I’ll buy some real stuff on the way home” I punched his chest, playfully of course, and I earned a chuckle from him, he grabbed my chin and pulled me into a kiss. Sweet, gentle, perfect like always, it got slowly more progressive, and before I knew it I was under him and his tongue was all the way down my throat. I pulled back and pant, a string of saliva connecting us “You still can’t hold your breath long enough Sho” he laughed and I flipped him off with a grin, his phone started to vibrate signaling it was time for him to go, my grin drops and I wrap myself in a blanket. “Do you really-” “Yes Shouta” he laughs as he interrupts me, I walk him to the door, we’ll followed him to the door, giving him a gentle kiss before he left “Bye sho, love ya!” “Bye Zash” I looked at the shut door for longer than id like to admit and grabbed my computer. I cuddle up in bed and did schoolwork slowly falling asleep with the computer still open, dreaming of the night ahead.
Hi! So thank you if you finished this! I worked hard and have a whole story line written out for these two! If you enjoyed let me know I might wright again not too sure TvT

following up to this post i made over 6 years ago when i was special-interesting swtor in college...
my interpretation/analysis of thew ith empire in the above post is also like. very unsubtly present in game
Zash's dialogue, if it's hard to read:
Yes "there is only passion". but do not forget -- "through passion, I gain strength; through strength, power." Passion is the method, power is the end.
like the game is not subtle about the empire being a fascist kratocracy. it sucks to be a sith (link) because they are constantly backstabbing each other. 3/4 of the imp side plots involve some type of backstabbing (bounty hunter being immune), normally master trying to kill apprentice (after having their apprentice dispatch threats they themselves could not deal with i think @badsithnocookie had a neat post analyzing this). Sith are constantly vying against each other for power, and there are various situations in which it's totally permissible for a sith to kill other imperials (so I guess sucks to be in the empire works better :P)
and like the game is, at least in vanilla, very aware of this fact! in various instances, the characters acknowledge that each sith who currently is in charge of the player also has their own master, who will do whatever they please, including using the chains/shackles rhetoric from the sith code (first linked post).
and while the fandom rhetoric often portrays the jedi as emotionally repressed and the sith as very free, the text of swtor does not really support this. Sith are not forbidden attachments -- but attachments are a weakness, that can and will be used against you by other sith (link)
relevant bit from that post:
that some of the passion stuff seemed weak with the Sith - like they clearly only encourage certain passions, and at least familial love is not one of them, seeing how many many Sith family relationships work - Beeltzit and Lady Grathan okay with sending you to off Lord Grathan, who she only married because it was advantageous… Whatshisface in BH plotline sending you after his daughter…
and note: Beeltzit, Gratham's son, was a secret from all the other sith because Gratham knew the other sith would try to use his son against him (and that is what Baras tells the player to do). Eskella goes to kill Tremel if the player doesn't, because him surviving and fleeing is embarrassing, and then he kills her if she finds him. Raina kills her own father for trying to protect her from the Sith Academy when she thinks she has to to keep the secret that she's force sensitive. Andru's ghost tells the player to drown children at birth because he's salty he got poisoned by his daughter, though if his daughter was also his apprentice this is par for the course -- thanaton assures the player (though he's about to try to kill them anyway so he doesn't really care what hey think) that its natural to want to kill your master when it appears player has killed zash. There is so much parent/child, master/apprentice murder in sith world, and in most cases it isn't even the bug - its the system. children are either a threat to power directly or something that could be used to threaten you, parents are a threat to power or something you will not be able to surpass without murder. the sith empire is just constantly eating itself.
I’m trying to transfer my brain mood from SWTOR to English class, so I can work on my midterm, and that reminded me when I was reading 1984, our assigned book, O’Brien’s rhetoric about Oceania’s structure reminded me of how I have Lycaea and her dad interpret Sith society structure (which u know… is definitely a huge chunk of how I interpret it)
For Lycaea: link. relevant line “Peace is a lie, there is only –” “Power. Power is the only thing that matters. Passion… freedom… that’s all dressing. Until you understand that you will never be able to fight as a Sith”
For O’Brien: “Why should [the Party] want power?” “You are ruling us for our own good…” “I will tell you the answer to my question. It is this: The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power. Not wealth or luxury or long life or happiness; only power, pure power. … We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end…. The object of power is power.”
anyway I can’t tell if comparing my shit to the “classics” is pretentious, but this *is* making the book more interesting for me and succeeding in getting me in the mood for my midterm so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Gotta love how after the Inquisitor visits the vault on Balmorra they must be absolutely dripping with toxic waste. They’re wearing fabric robes for fuck sake, they must be sodden with the stuff.
And they just hop on a speeder (which is now irradiated, thanks SI), waltz through Sobrek (leaving a trail of toxic waste and unconscious people who stumbled over it), and into Major Bessiker’s little office (how is he not dead? it’s in the carpet now, they’ll need to quarantine the whole city block).
Where’s Darth Zash’s apprentice? Just follow the geiger counter screeching.

You are so right about Zash trying to sneakily keep the Inquisitor isolated. Like, other than the whole visions of glorious destiny thing, Zash chose the Inquisitor as her body-snatch victim because they were a former slave; no known family at the time, most people who knew them before the Academy were probably also slaves who nobody would listen to. Part of why I think that Zash trained the Inquisitor is that the training was a way of managing their social interactions in addition to curating their skill-set. Time spent in lessons with Zash is time not spent out meeting other people.
One reason why she encouraged Lys'trel to study the certification was because it's a huge entry level course taken mostly by non-Sith and it's believable that Lys'trel might not remember any given one of her fellow students afterwards. (Another reason was that Zash didn't want to have to retake that certification herself.)
My assumption about why Zash kept the fact that she had taken two new apprentices secret is that it wasn't actually because she wanted to keep the Inquisitor away from Corrin and Kaal, it was because she needed to keep Corrin and Kaal away from the Inquisitor. Corrin and Kaal weren't in on the body-snatching plot but Zash was planning on keeping them around afterwards. That meant she had to carefully control everything they knew about the Inquisitor – Zash's bestie who knew everything about Zash and who Zash had totally passed on all of her cool ritual knowledge and Sith magic tricks to, who Zash was immeasurably proud of and foresaw leading the Sith into a new age of glory, and who Zash planned on leaving everything to in the event of her death including her two adorable junior apprentices who Kallig was so looking forward to meeting when they arrived back on Dromund Kaas.
It pinged as a red flag to Lys'trel when Grandpa Kallig told her about Kaal and Corrin. Not because it was suspicious that Zash would take more apprentices, but because if Zash and Lys'trel's relationship really was what Zash presented it as being, Zash would have told Lys'trel that she'd expanded their little Teaching-Linage. Lys'trel was certain Zash had a deeply self-interested motivation for taking her as an apprentice and promoting her to Lord so quickly, but she thought it might be that Zash was over her head in the Sith infighting and needed a powerful and loyal ally to survive. The lie of omission signaled it was something more sinister.
@themildestofwriters I very much agree that Zash never would have wanted it revealed that she had stolen her apprentice's body. I headcanon that it's illegal for the living to possess people in the Reconstituted Empire, or even to research how to possess people, because Vitiate doesn't want anyone figuring about how his deal with the Voice works because that would be useful knowledge for people seeking to inconvenience him. (Vitiate's excuse for why it's okay for him to do it is that he has ascended to godhood.)
This provides a Watsonian explanation for Thanaton's non-specific accusations against Zash and the Inquisitor. Thanaton knew that Zash was illegally researching possession but couldn't use that information against her without revealing that he also knew more than was legal about that field of knowledge. Part of what Thanaton knew was about the Emperor's Children, so he needed to be careful that never came out because it would open him up to accusations of treason.
So, Zash plotted the body-snatch very carefully, trying to minimise to risk of being pegged as not-the-Inquisitor while transferring as much as possible over to her new identity. That's another reason for her to butter up the Inquisitor; the closer they seem, the less strange it would be for Zash to write them into her will, enabling her to keep her stuff.
Quick question: Did Darth Zash teach Nox/Occlus/Imperius anything? Or did she just use them as an errand runner?
If not, then that's like running around with a loading rocket launcher and hoping not to trip. Expect the rocket launcher is a shit ton of force energy. And the tripping part is a sudden change in morals/ethics.
