Happy Valentine's Day 2024
Tumblr media
Every year, there is a Valentine's Day ball at the Stewart family residence that many of the engines always attend. Dressing up in their finery (which for Edward and her daughters includes donning the family jewels), the engines look forward to a night of good food, good company, and dancing with their beloved in the ballroom.
This year, Edward and Zebedee took the role of hosts and led the dancing to give Edward's parents a rest.
Victor and Luke were very happy to be attending the ball together for the first time, and Luke was excited to join the dancing.
Gordon and James, naturally, had to be at the centre of things. After all, James had hardly picked a dress that showed off how much baby weight she'd lost after having Leon for nothing!
Duck had plucked up the courage to wear an evening gown for this year's ball, but Donald was still on hand to offer them a little assurance as they stood to dance.
Henry and Emily had no reason to show off, content to simply enjoy the moment together. That being said, they may have some good news to shout about soon enough...
Meanwhile, Bill (forced to wear his hated 'William' tiepin by Edward) has finally plucked up enough courage to ask Nia if she would like to dance. Both are excited, nervous, and in Bill's case, a little lovestruck!

John Booth came to tell me Walton the sadler and Warder the blacksmith had (with my orders) taken down the front springs of A-‘s carriage as well as the back ones which I had told them to raise 2 catches – the people meant to raise  tighten up the front springs as much, and the off leather had broken – never meant the front springs to have been disturbed – desired that my orders might be attended to and not exceed another time – ordered the other front spring to be loosed and both leathers to be made good – breakfast at 10 – A- sat with me till 11 when called off to her tenant Heblethwaite about a wall under Hagstocks wood – I had Wood the Engineer – settled that the wheel is to be set 11in. above the centre of the wheel-race which has 1ft. of fall from the top and 6in. from the centre to the bottom of the race into the tail goit which has 2ft. + into the brook – a little with Booth – with Edward and John Sharpe + 3 lads flagging (as yesterday and on Saturday) the coach house – Booth settling up his jenny and tackling for getting on the tower cornice – then with Bligh ordering about setting a cellar-door locks till near 12 – then ½ hour + writing the whole of today so far – with A- a minute or 2 at her luncheon – dawdling over 1 thing or other till 2 – then down the old bank to the bank – left my banking book – Cr. today(after the payment of my last checks to Mr. Parker £100 and Lupton £36+) £1888 – said £7000 more would be paid into the course of a few days – then to Whitley’s for a little while – then to Northgate Mr. Husband came up to me to speak about the wheel-race – wanted me to go with him to measure – the Engineer and he (Mr. H-) seeming to be at issue in opinion about the manner of setting the wheel – Mr. H- said the engineer had been [home?] only wished me to order then there would be Days work without end – I said I had given no order about it (except to Booth about flagging the bottom) and would neither see it measured by Mr. Husband nor take any trouble about it – I had given no order to the engineer this morning – merely said I agreed with him the wheel would do if there were only 11 inches in the clear below it, and that as far as I was concerned I had no objection but the engineer must give his own orders and take the responsibility to Mr. Harper, tho’ I did not think Mr. Harper would object to 11in. – the engineer said he must sink the axle of the wheel 4in. into the steps – would not do more on account of safety – for fear of weakening them too much (Booth tells me these steps are 18in. thick) – Mr. H- had seen me measuring the kitchen fire-place and said it was too low – yes! said I, that is very clear – however I saw I would not say more to him than necessary and seeing him accompany me everywhere I set off home – back before 3 – all the afternoon with Robert and c° getting up and loadening Mark Hepworth with trees in Trough of Bolland wood road way or at the Lodge where they were planted – or with Mr. Gray and Booth setting out projected hay-barn or in the stables and about till came in at 7 10 – dressed dinner at 7 25 – coffee  at 9 – read the newspaper – A- and I came upstairs at 10 ¼ at which hour F45° - very fine day, tho’ a smart snow and hail shower about 11 or after am

Top 10 fav ships? TTTE and tugs?
Fuck... forgive me if I do more than 10 because I like a lot of ships. Hercules x Zebedee Ten Cents x Zip Gordon x Rebecca Zak x Nia Millie x Caitlin Victor x Luke Cranky x Carly x Big Micky Salty x Porter ...Okay that's actually less than I thought, those are all the cannon ones at least. The rest are like characters I'd wager have a crush on another, and some I want to give someone to love but can't, or I ship them but in a different relationship sense like platonically. I'm gonna say those too. Spencer x Connor (Spencer I imagine struggles with his love life, so he likes Connor but doesn't know how to go about it because he doesn't want his image ruined.) Flying Scotsman x Rebecca (After she basically made him tongue-tied he found himself very interested in her, but was shocked to see her and Gordon together. He likes Rebecca but he also likes seeing his brother happy, so he's conflicted.) Rosie x James (I see these two a lot more like siblings, hell! in my mythic AU they are siblings.) Alright, the rest are who I want to give ships to but I find that I cant. Edward (It's implied in my giant AU that he and Thomas are rather close but they still see each other as really good friends.) Diesel (I don't know who I can safely ship him with.) Diesel 10 (Same issue.) Herny (I would like to say Gordon but the thing is, Henry could be considered like a half-sibling to Gordon because he was a wack Gresley originally.) James (I want to give this guy someone to make him happy but I feel like options are limiting.) And I'd like to say a lot more characters but I've already rambled enough...

Happy 2/2 Everyone!
Tumblr media
It's 2nd February, which is Edward's day. But it's also Rheneas' day, Big Mac's day, and Zebedee's day, so the four of them are here to celebrate together.
It's also a special day for Edward and Zebedee in my AU, as this day is also their anniversary. Rheneas is happy for the 'lovely young couple' while Big Mac is concerned about Zebedee taking Edward's weight on one shoulder.

One Year of BiggSodorCityStories!
Tumblr media
So, one year ago today, I created this blog.
A year ago, I didn't really think very much would come of it. I'd been very upset with Deviantart's tone-deaf decision to try and force its entire userbase to "embrace" AI imagery and make their entire galleries ripe for the stealing, and created this blog to act as an image repository in case DA's stupid decision caused them to implode.
Honestly, I thought that I would lose interest and leave this blog to gather dust in a few months at most.
However, one year later, and this little blog has amassed over 100 followers (would have possibly been 200 or more if it wasn't for the pr0nbots, but they don't count) and my interest is still very high.
I have met some lovely people in the last year and gotten the chance to engage with them and other talented artists and storytellers, none of which would have happened if I hadn't bitten the bullet and joined this site.
I would like to take this chance to thank you all for your kind support over the last year, be that through likes, reblogs, asks or private messages (no matter how cheerfully I may or may not have received them at the time). Every single interaction has meant a great deal and been very welcome. I hope to see you all again over the next year of this little cracky blog.

The High Elven Queen and her Fenghuang Consort
Tumblr media
I'm not really planning this into a full AU, as many others have some sort of myth or folklore inspired project, and they're much better, but this has been stuck in my head for a while.
I've always pinned Edward as a high-elf or wizard, so I went with the former. As for Zebedee, I wanted to tie into my headcanon that he's half-Chinese and made him a Fenghuang* - a Chinese Phoenix.
I messed up the colouring a lot >.<;;;
*Strictly speaking, Zebedee is a Feng, which is the male name for the phoenix (with Huang being female), but the names are often combined into one gender-free name. I just wanted to point it out because it bothers me.

More Zebedee x Edward fluff
Tumblr media
I've been sick with a migraine all day, and I'm feeling a little sorry for myself. So, I decided to draw my comfort crack ship.
Poor Zebedee has come down with a fever and has been put to bed. Luckily, he has his ever-loving wife - the literal 'Mum of Sodor' - to be his nurse.

"I knew that marrying a tug wasn't going to be easy, Zebedee, but I never imagined you'd be taken to the other side of the world from me. We were supposed to raise our family and have all the children we talked about having. We were supposed to watch them grow up, then grow old together! Not spend our lives apart for all but a few days a year, wondering if the next time we see each other will be the last time..."
I've been on a bit of a downer all year. I'm not sure if it's a bit of post-Christmas depression or just bad luck, but I was in the mood to draw something angsty with my comfort ship.
No matter how wise Edward is, nor how resilient Zebedee seems, spending most of your time in a different part of the world from your soul mate has to leave a mark.

"Ooooh, that smells yummy..."
Tumblr media
It's been a long week, so I drew my comfort crack ship again.
Reminder that in my headcanons, Zebedee is half Chinese on his mother's side. His mother taught all her children how to cook (just on the offchance that her sons didn't find wives straight away), so Zebedee is pretty talented in the kitchen.
So Zebedee is cooking himself some fried rice, which attracted the dainty nose of his teeny wife, Edward.

Bill and Ben Moran
Tumblr media
So here's my concept for the Clay Pit Twins: Bill and Ben, the youngest sons of Zebedee and Edward, younger brothers of Susannah (OC), Liora (Lady), and Percy, and older brothers of Eve (OC).
Bill and Ben were born on Sodor, having been conceived shortly before Edward's move to the island. As such, although they still love him very much, they have the weakest relationship with their father. Like Percy, Zebedee's absence has caused them to seek out an alternative father-figure. Unlike their brother, they have settled on a single engine: BoCo. Though they would never try to break up their parents' marriage, they can't help but enjoy how well Edward gets on with BoCo.
Always known as troublesome, they have morphed into pure creatures of chaos as they enter their teenage years!
A little on each twin:
Bill:
Real name is William, but will only allow Edward, Ben, and occasionally Zebedee, to call him by that name. Anyone else will be ignored - if they are lucky!
Is actually the younger of the twins.
Is straight.
For some reason, everyone thinks he's the gay one.
As he enters puberty, it is clear that he is taking more after Edward.
Has a huge crush on Nia - proven when, after she addressed him as William, he simply stopped and politely corrected her. Has no idea how to express his feelings.
Knew Ben was gay years before he came out (claiming he knew before Ben did). While he was unsurprised by Connor's rejection, he couldn't help but hate him after seeing Ben so utterly heartbroken.
Ben:
Real name is Benjamin. Unlike Bill, he doesn't actually care, but does think it's pretentious and will behave as such towards anyone who uses it.
The older twin.
Has just recently discovered that he is gay.
Everyone thinks he's the straight one.
Puberty will lead him to become a little bulkier than Bill and more like Zebedee. Currently manifested as him being a bit chubby.
Fell head over heels with Connor, but had his heart broken when the older engine - having tried to let him down gently - brutally rejected him.
Is completely aware of Bill's feelings for Nia and is trying to figure out how to bring them together as he thinks she will be good for his brother.

Zebward Family Moment + New Fanbaby!
Tumblr media
Another Zebward (Zebedee x Edward) piece, this time with their sixth and youngest baby, little Eve Moran!
Little Eve was a bit of a "Baby Whoops," but no less loved for being so. Edward and Zebedee both grew up in large families and hoped to make one of their own. Thanks to two sets of twins, they managed six despite living apart most of the time, and are disappointed but grateful for the babies they have.

I'm gonna try a season art challenge thing, because it's the season of love, I'm gonna draw who I ship together. So here's maybe who to expect, if I like a ship that you don't, oh well. Edward x Emily James x Rosie Spencer x Connor Gordon x Rebecca Nia x Zak Scotsman x Duchess Zebedee x Hercules Millie x Caitlin Glynn x Stephen Victor x Luke Salty x Porter Big Micky x Carly x Cranky Diesel 10 x Percy I wanna ship more, but are stuck between story telling or characters who I view as having different relationships. This will mainly be in my human machines au, so I got some drawing to do. I might not get through all these, but I'll try while I got the time.
