The explanation for why totk’s story is so Not Great and how disconnected from its predecessor it feels being that the devs didn’t want to alienate new players who didn’t know anything about botw’s story just falls apart the more I think about it. Nothing from this stupid half a plot works unless the player is familiar with specific details from the better games that came before it.
The believability of Link and Zelda’s connection to each other hinges on you knowing about the nuance of their relationship in botw. The ancient sages fighting with the champions’ arms and divine beast helms will only be impactful to botw/aoc players because totk doesn’t bother to explain the significance of that callback at all. Fi’s cameo is meaningless unless you either got every memory in botw or finished the master trial dlc (and know about her from skyward sword). You’ll only get the full context of Teba being sidelined in favour of a 12-year old if you played a specific chapter of Age of Calamity’s second DLC. Like sorry but I think Nintendo just made a bad story tbh
Thinking about how the different races think about teeth.
Hylians, sheikah and gerudo are probably just like humans, baby set and then adult set, mby with little fangs bc I just love that aspect of fantasy.
Zora regrow their teeth like sharks, just have them constantly cooking behind the scenes ready to drop in when one breaks off. I want to say they have more than one row in their mouths, and I will bc its freaky and cool.
Gorons have really dense teeth (not bone), bc they need to crunch through stone and jaw strength only takes you so far. But honestly I reckon their teeth are constantly growing, faster as children and slower as they age. The regular wear and tear keeps them generally small but sometimes you need to break off chunks to keep it manageable. (Kinda like nails? If you let them keep growing then they tend to curl and dig into your skin and cause all sorts of problems)
Rito... don't have teeth. Obviously. They maintain their beaks with various surfaces, cuttlefish if you're fancy, but like if it breaks that's pretty much it, either leave it or get a prosthetic. But teeth? That freaks them out. Wdym ur bones are exposed and sometimes fall out how are you okay with this?!?
"It's just the rain." - a watercolor ATC from 2021.
Prince Sidon is a character I always wanted to paint (especially since Ocarina of Time woke my love for the Zora people, even inspiring me to create a Zora OC), but I hesitated to do so for a long time, simply because I didn't know how to depict him in my semi-realistic style.
I couldn't be happier with the final result tho. One day I want to paint Mipha properly, too. ♥
What if Wild and the Chain meet Champion during AOC? What if afterwards, Champion and Mipha have a daughter? What if TOTK happened to Champion first, Ganon won and the Chain arrived too late to help, but Champ got to tell Wild about his/their daughter? What if Wild was able to save her and bring her to his era?
Cloud and zel are so cute! I just love your writing so much, poor Mipha, I’m also short but ride horses and if it wasn’t for the adjustable stirrups I would be just like her
They are very cute, I love them ☺️ Honestly I’m just happy they decided to cooperate, little gremlins, they were holding that story hostage.
Haha I’m glad you can adjust the stirrups to help you out, when I was writing I was like “hold up Zora are built just differently enough that this is probably awkward for Mipha to be on a horse but she can’t just walk along on the dry land with her little legs while the horses cover a ton of ground and HOW DID THEY ALL TRAVEL TOGETHER AT ANY POINT” 🤣
