no offense but the fact that the first thing i ever saw you say about your own comic was that an ai wrote it has permanently turned me off of it even if you decided to go and edit that first post of yours to say it wasnt. like, wow. what a way to introduce a comic

Well, I made it clear for the sake of transparency that the original story was written alongside a character.ai bot, though it seems you missed the part where I said I don't use AI anymore -- And that, to quote my own FAQ;

"All of AI Shadow’s “additions” will be rewritten so he’s less stiff and more himself. Meaning everything in this comic was written by me. All of it."

You also seemed to miss the many times on my blog that I've advocated against ever using AI. Of course, I suppose I can't blame you. You did, after all, admit to me (on anon) that you basically just glanced at my comic, didn't pay attention to WHAT I was saying here:

And then jumped to the conclusion that you did. But I guess I shouldn't expect much from the "pissing on the poor" website. Allow me to clarify: Yes, the original story was written as an RP I did with a chatbot. I have admitted this for the sake of honesty. I didn't want to lie about this thing's origin, even if I regret having done so at all now.

At the time, being someone who used to mess around with chatbots as a kid way, way back in the late 2000s/early 2010s like Chomsky, I thought this website was just another one of those sorts of things. The chatbot itself, however, was bland garbage and I was basically tugging the thing around an entire elaborate story of my own creation while the thing just went "wow" and "oh no" at everything. The ENTIRE plot, EVERY line from EVERY character that wasn't Shadow was mine. Now, in its comic form, turning that plot I had rattling in my head into a script, and turning that script into a comic, obviously I'm much more involved in the one element of the story that was once, and is no longer, AI.

Shadow is written by me as well, just as I had once written literally everything else.

Use your eyes. You can see how much effort I put into this comic. Now use your head. Why would I cross out that section in the first page instead of deleting it outright if I actually wanted to hide it. I clearly value honesty and genuine quality in what I do. So when turning The Thing I Did For Fun into a REAL story to tell others, obviously I pushed away all the AI stuff because, beyond all of the other problems with AI, it's not of the high quality I want Infested to be.

The general concept of the Defector Claus AU is that 2 years into Claus being missing, he malfunctions, gaining his free will back and escapes! Current standing, he deals with severe memory issues; having to remember who he used to be and those he used to know, as well as hiding with a certain doctor in the Chimera Lab, fixing a malfunctioning arm canon and replacing dented and broken wings. Claus owns the blog! In universe, Doctor Andonuts gives Claus an inter-dimensional communication device which allows him to make a tumblr account(Read this sentence to a Victorian child). It's enrichment to him as he waits to be repaired as well as hiding from the Pigmask Army. This device is the only one in existence in their universe, so there isn't a real issue with anyone finding him through his blog.

@plasticsouled : ☕️ + how bout single muse blogs vs. multi muse blogs, as a multi yourself?

Man, I was a single-muse girlie for so many years. A quick glance at my FAQ will reveal that 90% of those old blogs were, in fact, single muse focused blogs... but I kept dropping them, because my ADHD makes it so hard to focus on a single muse for a long period of time.

SO HONESTLY, I love single-muse blogs because that means you have so much dedication and love for one character! You really get to explore them and dive into them. Not to mention, I miss having all the uniform graphics for single muses — where everything is so personalized and stylized.

I think running a multimuse is harder, to be honest. Balancing and sorting and figuring out how to make everything flow nicely. All of that, not to mention that there is an inherent bias in the RPC against multis, for whatever reason. Which is ridiculous, imho.

For me, running a multi worked better with my ADHD. I don't drop blog as often and can just shuffle through muses as I have more muse for them, without feeling like I'm letting a ton of people down if I don't have muse. But I do miss writing singles and having just that devotion to one character.

North Chooses Violence II Accepting

The answer will shock no one who knows my blogroll (sup @peranarkia), but Lonnie Machin.

I am, first of all, obsessed with that character in general. But second of all, if you have to get into Lonnie by being into Tim first, how can you not get into Lonnie? He's such a deeply integral part of Tim's story that it's impossible to miss him unless you're intentionally ignoring everyone but Tim.

(To be clear-- Lonnie is also much more than a support role character. But most people are introduced to him via his support of Tim as Moneyspider, so that's why I say that).

Believe you me, as a communist who was converted to being an anarchist via Lonnie's comics (not a hard sell to be fair) I fell hard and fast for Lonnie's character, and it is a crying shame that he is 1. slept on in the fandom in general, but then also 2. severely misunderstood by the comic fandom that prefers fanfiction to canon in terms of understanding characterizations and canon events.

I have never pretended to like fanon, but the way the fandom as a whole understands Lonnie makes me wanna tear my hair out. He is a character motivated by unconditional love of humanity, the belief that we have no choice but to be our best selves because it is how he sees humanity, by the knowledge that we not only can, but will change things for the good of all mankind-- and he is literally, canonically, so honest that he can't even bring himself, morally, to lie to The Joker. He is not, by any stretch of belief, some adventurist who only blows shit up "4 da chaos lols" or "because society sucks or whatever." Lonnie is willing to engage in (non-lethal, mind) property damage, of course, but unless someone understands what Direct Action is, it is very rarely presented correctly or with the right amount of nuance in the fandom, and as an anarchist (been one for about two and some change ish years now), it is infuriating to see how anarchist characters are handled by comic book fans (given the trust in the justice system that they provide. and hey, fair enough that trust in comic/fictional justice is present; it's just... comics were built on real-world commentary. DC not using that chance to make real statements about the world is just capitalistic and cowardly at this point, and fans should stop trusting or crediting DC with/to present any kind of good faith argument for anything but institutional, corporate-benefiting, punitive justice that doesn't work, flat out.)

At the end of the day, I can't control how someone engages with comics, and I won't be rude to them about it, but I do reserve the quiet/private right to believe that someone is going about Lonnie comics the wrong way if they don't 1. look at him past his involvement with Tim and 2. give his ideology a real, hard, genuine, earnest look.

What should a rp ad include?

When you submit your rp ad, a set of guidelines should show up, but here is a copy:

Roleplay ads can be very broad to very specific. A lot of things can be decided after you connect, but some helpful things to consider adding into your roleplay ad are:

1. How to get ahold of you (e.g. "dm on tumblr for my discord")

2. Fandom(s)

3. Pairings (optionally you can emphasize the character you prefer to play, aka your muse, in some way. E.g. "sokka x *kataka*")

4. Where you like to RP (Tumblr DMs, Discord server, email, etc.)

5. Style you prefer/What you are looking for (e.g. "prefer partners 25+, looking for 2 partners")

6. Style you prefer (e.g. semi lit, quick responses, playing multiple characters)

7. What kinds of plots are you open to? (Fluff, Angst, Dark/Dead Dove, Smut, etc.)

8. A little bit about you! (e.g. "I love to make moodboards and playlists! I work 9-5 in UTC+01:00 timezone so I only rp in the evenings.")

Do all of my pairings have to be shipcest?

No, they don't! At least one pairing should be, but not all of them have to be. In fact, you might just find a roleplay partner that has similar interests and that you feel comfortable with and play a non-related pairing! This blog is a safe space for proshippers and shipcesters to find and chill with each other.

Some tips & considerations:

Don't assume anything is "obvious" (e.g. "I'm okay with anything except the obvious" trust me, it is not obvious)

Remember that the more specific you get, the narrower your pool of candidates

Be friendly and open! You are not looking for a bot, you are looking for another human to connect with

Check your DM settings so they are open to more than just mutuals

Check your DMs routinely so you don't miss a message, Tumblr can be buggy so just message back as soon as you are able

Not everyone will match up perfectly and that's okay! You can either find where you do match up or decide to move on. Either way, be kind.
