Basically; This is a blog I started as creative way to play out my pregnant fantasies as I RP many different sims on their pregnancy journeys!

As I have answered in the past; i sadly don’t  have time to field all of the “what mods do you use?” general questions anymore. That is because my game is so heavily modified that just asking generally “what mods“ would result in me having to find and populate a list of up to 50 mods for one little scene- in addition to the small ones I have made for myself. WCIF questions may be answered sporadically, but I just don’t have time to answer all of them on this lil side blog ^^

What is this AU?

The general concept of the Defector Claus AU is that 2 years into Claus being missing, he malfunctions, gaining his free will back and escapes! Current standing, he deals with severe memory issues; having to remember who he used to be and those he used to know, as well as hiding with a certain doctor in the Chimera Lab, fixing a malfunctioning arm canon and replacing dented and broken wings. The rest you will have to find out later! Send in an ask or two.

I don't know! I'm here for the ride. Ideally if this goes well this might be a blog that lasts throughout the month of August and beyond, but we'll see what happens!

Can I, as another ask blog/rp blog interact with Defector!Claus? Yes! PLEASE. Foaming at the mouth thinking about interacting with other people's awesome AUs/OCs. This blog will by default be Claus', in the fact I will be in character unless stated otherwise! (Under the tag #ooc post.)

Wait, what do you mean Claus' blog?

Claus owns the blog! In universe, Doctor Andonuts gives Claus an inter-dimensional communication device which allows him to make a tumblr account(Read this sentence to a Victorian child). It's enrichment to him as he waits to be repaired as well as hiding from the Pigmask Army. This device is the only one in existence in their universe, so there isn't a real issue with anyone finding him through his blog.

What should a rp ad include?

When you submit your rp ad, a set of guidelines should show up, but here is a copy:

Roleplay ads can be very broad to very specific. A lot of things can be decided after you connect, but some helpful things to consider adding into your roleplay ad are:

1. How to get ahold of you (e.g. "dm on tumblr for my discord")

2. Fandom(s)

3. Pairings (optionally you can emphasize the character you prefer to play, aka your muse, in some way. E.g. "sokka x *kataka*")

4. Where you like to RP (Tumblr DMs, Discord server, email, etc.)

5. Style you prefer/What you are looking for (e.g. "prefer partners 25+, looking for 2 partners")

6. Style you prefer (e.g. semi lit, quick responses, playing multiple characters)

7. What kinds of plots are you open to? (Fluff, Angst, Dark/Dead Dove, Smut, etc.)

8. A little bit about you! (e.g. "I love to make moodboards and playlists! I work 9-5 in UTC+01:00 timezone so I only rp in the evenings.")

Do all of my pairings have to be shipcest?

No, they don't! At least one pairing should be, but not all of them have to be. In fact, you might just find a roleplay partner that has similar interests and that you feel comfortable with and play a non-related pairing! This blog is a safe space for proshippers and shipcesters to find and chill with each other.

Some tips & considerations:

Don't assume anything is "obvious" (e.g. "I'm okay with anything except the obvious" trust me, it is not obvious)

Remember that the more specific you get, the narrower your pool of candidates

Be friendly and open! You are not looking for a bot, you are looking for another human to connect with

Check your DM settings so they are open to more than just mutuals

Check your DMs routinely so you don't miss a message, Tumblr can be buggy so just message back as soon as you are able

Not everyone will match up perfectly and that's okay! You can either find where you do match up or decide to move on. Either way, be kind.

Can I join the RP?

We don’t own the monopoly on RP blogs - you’re more than welcome to make your own! But our “canon” is limited to me and the Ralsei I interact with, due to the fact that a lot of our lore is pre-planned and very in-depth. You’re more than welcome to create your own, but even a lot of the blogs we do interact with (like our Gaster and Kris) come from different “canons” due to the fact that our lore doesn’t line up with theirs. It means a lot that people are so invested, but please respect that we’ve got a story we’re telling here - one we really hope you’ll enjoy!

Who is the narrator?

The narrator of this blog is Chara from the @dessofficial universe. They’re an artificial Lightner the same way Ralsei is an artificial Darkner, repurposed to be the narrator of the game after their death. This isn’t a story about them, so they’ll only sporatically answer questions, but if you’re interested you can read about it there (or go ask Ralsei about it!)

Abysmal? Wow, that’s a big word there. You know what’s really abysmal? Forcing muns to play incredible poc fcs only for them to half ass it because, well, they’re forced to. Oh! Or maybe the fact that if muns half ass writes a poc character because they’re forced to, they won’t care to look into the cultures of these poc characters.

Our rules are set in place for a reason, and I’ve answered this question so many times in our faq, so if you’re not going to read the main, I’m not sure I want you in our completely heinous rp that cares so much about diversity and people of color that we think they deserve to be written with a mun’s heart put into them, rather than fulfilling some invisible quota. Actually just for like nuance purposes bc I'm sure OP of that post is probably annoyed as hell by the notes already but I HAVE to nuance this shit since there's a lot I want to add to that post, re: ao3 etiquette

kudos when you feel like it. different people use kudos for different reasons. I use them because I actually liked the fic. it's like giving a thumbs-up. apparently some people just use it to say they finished it. that's not standard, there is no standard. consider it like a facebook "like" in that it kind of ticks a number up but doesn't really tell you anything further than that.

comment when you feel like it. it's nice to do. a lot of authors enjoy comments that aren't worded super rudely and will enjoy anything from "<3" to "asdkljfhdksljfhdjksh" to an essay about why you loved it.

"pls update" comments are a toss-up. some people love em, some people hate em, some are ambivalent. comment how you like but understand that some people see requests to update as pushing them along while others think of them as really nice reminders that that fic they've been avoiding eye contact with IS liked by people, and it's difficult to tell which a particular fic author will be.

general rule of thumb: if they didn't ask for concrit, they probably will consider it rude if you give it. before you start whining in the notes, yes it's the internet and you can do what I want, you're very entitled I get it. it's still rude to walk up to someone painting on the street or something and tell them how they can do x y and z better when they didn't fucking ask. no matter how combative you get over the right you do have to be an asshole on the internet, you are still being an asshole. some people on the internet are kids. sometimes a fic is intensely personal to someone. sometimes they're just starting out. sometimes they're just having fun and not particularly interested in learning the nitty gritty of grammar and story structure. sometimes they just didn't fucking ask because they don't want it. you're never going to make it not rude by insisting on leaving concrit anyway. if you really really want to, there's a really simple solution: leave a comment POLITELY asking them whether they'd be open to constructive criticism, and then respect the answer they give you. in this case, silence is an answer, too.

metas and theories are allowed under TOS. ao3 is for "noncommercial, non-ephemeral fanwork... that is fannish in nature". ao3's faq explicitly calls out meta as allowed under TOS.

what is not allowed under ao3 tos: "help me find this fic!" requests posted as "fanworks", links to or mentions of donations or patreons/monetizing fic, posting a request for someone else to write a fic/rp with you as a fic, posting straight fic prompts

ao3 has a goal of "maximum inclusiveness". it was created with the express intention of allowing "as many fanworks as possible". it was created in response to fanworks on other sites being removed for "decency", "moral reasons" (anything from "this is harmful because the characters are x age" to "this suggests the existence of queer people"), or simply not being appealing to advertisers.

you are in fact responsible for your own reading experience. if you find something you don't like, the back button is always there. tags exist for a reason. if you think it's morally reprehensible or whatever, okay, cool, hit the back button. it's not for you.

from the ao3 tos faq: "One basic consequence is that users are responsible for reading and heeding the warnings provided by the creator. Risk-averse users should keep in mind that not all content will carry full warnings. If you want to know more, you may also wish to consult the bookmarks that people other than the creator have used to categorize the fanwork." (emphasis native to faq)

that being said, if it's very obviously incorrectly tagged ie "gen rating on a fic with explicit sex and gore in it" you would be within your rights to ask them to update the tags accordingly and/or report the fic.

subscribe whenever you want even if the fic is complete I promise you unless the author is super obsessive they likely won't even notice let alone think it's weird

delete your fics if you want. you're not required to keep them up. it'd be nice if you orphaned it or added it to the anonymous collection instead for others to read, and I personally would encourage you to do so as I've personally regretted a lot of fic deletions I've made, but it is your content and you don't have to let it be archived forever if you decide that you hate it/it's no longer representative of you/etc.

character/character is indeed intended for romantic/sexual pairings. character & character is intended for platonic pairings. most people searching the '&' tag for a ship tend to be annoyed if you tag a fic with both unless it's explicitly intended to be read either way, because they are in the & ship tag because they DON'T want romantic and/or sexual content for the involved characters.

the only tagging you are required to do is ratings and specific basic warnings, however you are also allowed to use "not rated" and "creator chose not to use archive warnings". tagging helps people find your fic and also helps people who aren't right for your fic avoid your fic, so it would be nice to do more than just rating + archive warnings for your sake and others, but at the end of the day, it's your choice.

if tagging confuses you, my rule of thumb is "would someone in x tag who found this fic be annoyed that it had this tag?" and "what would someone looking for this fic generally be searching for, tag-wise, to find this?"

ao3 is not social media. there is not an algorithm. there will never be an algorithm. it is a place for storing fan content from basically any fandom. the closest thing to an algorithm is the front page of recently updated fics for a fandom, and it's extremely poor taste to use tricks to stay on the front page. depending on the fandom, it's also an extremely losing battle. (eg. there have been days where I've posted a bnha fic and it was IMMEDIATELY pushed down to page three of the fandom simply bc the fandom's so big.) I recommend posting your fic and then going to like take a shower or take a nap or something to step away.

FAQ: Who is The Colonel?

If you've been on the main blog page and not just mobile, I'm sure you've seen the banner up top as well as the blog description, which leads to the obvious question:

Who is The Colonel, exactly?

Well, he's the architect, to a great degree, behind the polycule I RP, and the only character that I write that isn't actually my own.

TLDR: I RP as Jade Curtiss from Tales of the Abyss (a once-popular JRPG from the Tales Of series). There's a lot of odd magic things in his setting that ultimately mess with the fabric of reality, so I don't think that it's a stretch to say it's possible for him to be dropoped somewhere on another plane if someone fucks with magic in just the right way.

With that said, his personal plot is deeply involved with his desire to go "back home" and survive in the universe he's landed himself in long enough to do so. He's done a good job of the latter, but so far, nothing he's researched has worked... well, not yet at least.

While Jade does have a playful side, it's usually to keep others at bay. Underneath the facade of social versatility lies a man whose trust is hard-won. Although he has painstakingly learned the value of others inhabiting the world alongside him, that doesn't mean he has to lie to himself about how competent they typically are. He is the sort of person whom many consider to be their friend, but does not consider many others to be his friend in turn.

Thus, the Garden.

As much as he would like to be an isolationist, that's no way to live. it's not conducive to good mental health, and if he grows to be unable to trust his own mind while he's working towards his goals, all would be lost (so far as he's concerned, anyway).

This blog is called "Smooth Geometry" because the members of the polycule jokingly refer to their group as "The Circle", a play on the phrase "circle of friends". But Jade prefers to think of them as either a petri dish (a "successful" experiment of his own design), or a garden.

The fact is that he vetted and put each of them through the ringer to ...mold them, in a sense. To direct their growth.

Jade would rather not make new friends unintentionally, and having this group satisfy his social (or other) needs severely limits the amount of bullshit or unexpected drama he has to handle. My personal headcanon is that he most certainly is a person with anti-social personality disorder; he's made his mistakes regarding socializing in the past, and gotten to the point where he's figured things out. His coping mechanisms are set, and they aren't the most destructive they could be. Having a specific group of people that he's emotionally involved in both reduces the outside drama he has to invest in (becaues he can't completely avoid it, lol), and gives him a controlled environment within which to indulge in his emotions so far as his personal interest.

Jade was able to make friends even in his source canon, after all. He has a clear grasp for interactions with others and what they entail/what others expect. Trial and error pay off, sometimes!

Anyways, he's gone through quite a bit, and suffered quite a bit more once arriving in this universe during The Great Reveal. He's a soldier and a survivor though, and has plenty of tools in his arsenal, and thus was able to build himself into a cushier life than most. Jade has in fact made a comfortable space for himself here, but that doesn't mean he's given up on potentially getting back home.

The Circle, his polycule, is full of people he loves (or would like to grow to love) in one way or another, but his priorities are still set neatly in order. They are quite carefully picked and cultivated flowers, so far as he's concerned, and he's managed to arrange (or is in the process of arranging) his garden into a peaceful place for himself, bloom by bloom. Jade would never argue that he's a good man, ever, but he can be a consistent partner if nothing else; that's better than most others by a wide margin, he thinks. Does he deserve it? Likely not. But he worked/is working hard to get these people and relationships in juuuuust the right places, and he's going to enjoy the convenience of that as he pleases.

Again, not in any particular order, but Manshine City and Bastard München do have my oshis all in one place, so it's not a surprise that they are among my favorite teams. As for PxG, I just really like the dynamic between all the characters there, so in it goes as one of my favorite teams.

why do you show whether asks, submissions, and anon are on or not?

As said before in the explanation for my rules, my blog is a safe space; asks, submissions, and anon are privileges, not rights. If something were to happen in the community that were to cause unrest, I may turn these features off.

do you take oc-related asks? rps? ships? Interactions?

Yes, I do take oc-related asks! In fact, I'd be happy to answer any oc-related ask! I'm a yapper, though, so things can get quite long-winded. Because of that, I don't really do RP, especially text-heavy ones, cause, well... I don't want to write a whole essay. Ships and interactions depend on the other character in question; I have had a bad experience with another fandom, so I've become a little pickier regarding oc shipping and interactions.

are you open to nsfw asks?

Depends on the type of NSFW. I could care less about profane asks, so those are fine. I'm not really one for graphic violence, but I can stomach a discussion, just no visual aid, and we should be all right. Slurs are an absolute no-go. As for sexual content, generally speaking, I prefer the content to be more risque rather than explicit. I am ace-spec, so the topic can be a bit out there for me, and it is usually just material for jokes, as far as I'm concerned. However, I don't mind discussing it from time to time.

you aren't responding or are slow doing so! are you ignoring me, or am i blocked, and why?

I am very liberal with my block button and prone to blocking whatever I don't like, which is also why I don't have many written rules here; if I don't like something, I don't engage with it; it's that simple. Since I've had a bad fandom experience before, I am willing to block people for the smallest of reasons, so don't assume it's personal unless you're aware that you're a terrible or questionable person. If I do respond and it seems like I was ignoring you, I apologize, though I try my best to answer things in a timely manner as quickly as possible. I'm pretty busy between school, clubs, and my part-time job, and I am doing my best to juggle everything and find a good balance now.

how much about got should one know before joining? i’ve never joined a period rp but this one seems so cool my only issue is i’ve never watched got past the first season or read the books 😭

i  promise  you,  you  really  don’t  need  to  know  anything  at  all  !  i’ve  never  read  the  books  either,  and  only  seen  the  first  couple  of  seasons,  but  we’re  not  really  lore  heavy,  so  i  don’t  think  you’d  have  to  worry  about  that  !  i  know  myself  and  a  few  others  tend  to  just  use  the  wikis  to  fill  the  information  gaps  &  i  always  try  to  link  direct  links  to  information  i  include  in  events  or  plot  drops  so  you  can  read  about  it  if  you’d  like  the  extra  background  !  but  i  do  know  that  we’d  love  to  have  you  &  if  you  have  any  questions,  all  of  us  are  more  than  happy  to  help  !
