I've been thinking about Remus and Marlene raising Harry and so I present to you:

Uncle Moony and Auntie Marls

(Note: I am aware Marlene dies before James and Lily, this is an AU)

Remus, Mary and Marlene were all together when they heard the news. McGonagall alerted the three immediately after Harry was placed on the doorstep. That James and Lily Potter were dead. That Sirius Black had betrayed them. And that Harry was to live with the Dursleys.

The three knew of Petunia, Remus having the misfortune of meeting her, and refused to allow Harry to live with such monsters. Remus apperated down to 4 Private Drive, where Harry still lay on the doorstep, and just stole him.

It took them a good few minutes to realise that kidnapping, even with the best intentions, was a crime, and they would be sent straight to Azkaban if the wrong people found out.

So they told McGonagall. They wrote a letter saying that they simply refused to allow Harry to be raised in such heinous conditions, and that they demanded that Harry would be raised by them. It seemed the gods were on their side for the first time. McGonagall agreed. Harry was safe from the Dursleys. Mary decided that she had to stay with her family, as she still had to look after her little brothers, but promised to help when possible.

So now Marlene and Remus were co-parenting. Neither of them were fit to raise a child, being two traumatised 21 year olds, but they made do. Remus taught Harry how to write and mathematics, whilst Marlene taught him how to ride a broom and how to properly style cloaks and other wizard-wear.

Of course there were some issues. Remus was still a werewolf, and had to leave once a month to transform safely. He was constantly terrified of hurting either Marlene or Harry, and wouldn't be able to bear it if either one of them had to suffer the same fate he bit them.

Thankfully, he never did.

Soon enough, Harry got a letter from Hogwarts. He. Was. Ecstatic. Not only did Uncle Moony and Auntie Marls study there in the past, but his parents, Lily and James Potter, did too. He knew it was a no-brainer that he would get into Hogwarts- he could fly like a champion and he could speak to snakes and so much more, but it felt like a weight was finally lifted off his shoulders. He truly was a wizard, and he was going to be as great as his parents.

My fucking Jewish PRESCHOOL had to have ARMED GUARDS to keep people from fucking MURDERING PRESCHOOL AGED JEWISH CHILDREN. I thought all preschools had armed guards until I was like 12. Just fucking LISTEN when we say things. Here, I’ll give you a list of things you NEED to listen to us about.

Holocaust deniers are violent antisemites, no exceptions. They are dangerous and do not deserve a platform to speak.

Jewish people cannot be nazis, no matter how much you disagree with them. Ben Shapiro is a piece of transphobic racist shit, but he’s not and will never be a Nazi.

Trump and many people in his cabinet have repeatedly used antisemitic dog whistles, most recently calling himself a nationalist.

We. Are not. All. White. Stop being dicks to Jewish people of color.

And we’re not all ashkenazi!!! Google is your friend if you don’t know what that means.

Don’t do that “Nazi puncher” bullshit if you don’t actively uplift and defend Jewish people. Punching nazis is a great thing but you need to uplift and support jews at the same time.

Stop pinning Israeli war crimes on random Jewish people. And stop demanding we tell you our opinions on Israel before you treat us with basic human decency.
