Its so hard to let yourself be vulnerable if you've grown in a family that is as dysfunctional as it gets, its so hard to not subconsciously wait for the last shoe to drop, its hard believing that you can be loved without being hurt in the process or you can talk about how you feel without it turning into a full blown shame-blame agruement, its hard to make anyone understand why you get scared so easily, well you know in your heart its because all you've ever been was scared, its hard to embrace the warmth of the nurturing, healthy love without being haunted by the alleged 'love' you've known all your life, its hard not to be lookout for things getting thrown at you in an agruement, its hard to believe that you are capable of much more than a small talk with the people you 'love', its hard not to let your mind spiral into the thought that they can use all of the stuff you told them, all of your vulnerability and turn it against you and use it to shame you.

Its hard for people who grew up like this to be 'normal', they require undoing and patience and utter gentleness cause they don't know how to live they only know how to survive.

To everyone who has been through this, I hope when you find the real kind of love, you learn to lean into it and embrace it cause you deserve it.
