The Dress Color is Irrelevant
What is wrong with American people today? I really can’t understand that if a society is supposedly so advanced, how is it so stupid. This world is going to shit and we are senseless to the smell.
When I first came across this it was already a meme, and I had no idea what they were talking about. So I googled the meme and the dress came up. Now if I…

The evil and goodness of people still amazes me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Last month, a toucan was brutally attacked by a bunch of youths in Costa Rica, an assault that left the poor bird mutilated and missing a substantial chunk of its beak. And the world was not happy about it. The incident quickly earned a lot of attention online, and it didn’t take long for people to dip into their pockets to help the fella out. Now, thanks to the generous public, the animal’s outlook may not be so miserable as he is set to receive a prosthetic replacement.
According to BBC News, four different companies in the country said they have the skills to help him and have volunteered their services to 3D print the bird a new beak, which could be the first time that a toucan has received such a prosthesis. However, scientists know that such a procedure can be successful as prosthetic beaks have been fitted on an eagle and a penguin before.
The grizzly incident took place in January when a group of teenagers from the town of Grecia began beating the bird with a piece of wood. The bird is wild, but locals feed him and play with him, so he had become a sort of mascot for the town and was consequently named after it, according to AFP.
The maimed bird was brought to veterinarians working at an animal rescue center in Alajuela, who have been nursing Grecia ever since. Although he is managing to recover despite his disfigured beak, the vet who has been looking after him, Carmen Soto, told BBC News that he can only eat very small amounts on his own and therefore needs assistance.”

For the most part Disney has been the winner almost since the beginning of the category, so it's a bit of a long shot for any movie that goes up against them. I find myself rooting for the underdogs when they get nominated. I personally was hoping for The Song of the Sea.
What if the animation Oscars were chosen by people who knew nothing about animation?

Common Sense on the Side
Common Sense on the Side
I’ve dealt with incompetence in the fast food service before, but today was a new chapter. First of all, some punk tried to cut in line in front of us. Fortunately my hubby isn’t a pussy and told him to go to the back of the line. The runt went back to his friends with his tail between his legs.
When we got to the register everything seemingly went fine. We got our food and left. But when we got…

Valentine's Day is Sexist...Toward Men
Valentine’s Day is Sexist…Toward Men
Has anyone noticed that there are no commercials about gifts for men for Valentine’s Day? All of the ones I’ve seen are geared toward gifts for women, like flowers and that giant teddy bear. I can only guess that women are easier to advertise for when it comes to romance, but I find it sexist that men are always expected to be the gift givers during the holiday. Men are just as important when it…

Customer Service and Lack Thereof
It sucks to be a normal person during Superbowl weekend. It’s not that I forgot, I just don’t care. Unless a commercial is particularly interesting (the Budweiser one made me tear up…the puppy is saved by his Clydesdale friends d’awwww) I couldn’t care less about football. Hockey’s more entertaining anyway.
But I digress. It wasn’t the crowd or the loud mouth, white trash practically following us that pissed me off most, small potatoes to the cashier and bagger at the register. First off, the attitude. Have you ever noticed that if you want to inquire about an item that might be on sale, (some) will give you this attitude of “Ugh, do I have to?”. If you don’t want to work somewhere, don’t fucking work there. And especially don’t be a angsty bitch to your customers. You are there to be a representative of the company, leave your attitude at home. I don’t give a fuck about your home life, you chose to work there. You don’t have to be all butterflies and sunshine, but at least put forth some effort to act professional.
And then there’s the bagger. Slow as fucking molasses. You can just hear his brain drumming on, “God I don’t wanna be here, why is this dumb ass asking for double bags? Who gives a shit. Woe is me, I have to work here with these stupid customers.” Again, what the fuck are people like this doing in the work force? I have never before seen such incompetence. Multiple items were in different bags, half of the bags were single bagged (even though we specifically asked for double) and he put the bread with the eggs and cold cuts, you just don’t fucking do that!
I’m sorry if this is a little more crazy than my other posts but things like this really piss me off. I work as a cashier and I have great customer service, even when customers are screaming “Vagina! Vagina!” at me. I’m not saying I make every customer’s day, but I’m professional about my job and try my damnedest to make sure I do all that I can for them. I’m not perfect, but I’m professional.

America's FuckedUp Home Videos
When I was young I loved watching America's Funniest Home Videos. Bob Saget doing the funny voices, cute and cool animals, broken bones, traumatizing kids - wait, what?
Between the genuine accidents, wow moments, and crazy animals there was definitely a dark side to the hilarity. And unfortunately, of all the aspects, it was this that grew in popularity over the years.
What is the matter with people who enjoy this "entertainment"?
Some people would consider this 'entertainment' as 'schadenfreude'. But in reality, this is just a soft core voyeuristic sadistic/masochistic relationship between the 'entertainers' and the audience.
What's normal about seeing someone in pain, self inflicted or accidental otherwise, and enjoying it?

Mourning
Even after six years I still miss him.
In the summer of 2008 I met a wonderful man. I had just started college and we hit it off perfectly. During the fall semester we moved in together and we already talking about marriage. It was also when we found out he had diabetes. We didn’t think much of his condition, even when one night he got really sick. The next morning, when I came home from a final, I found him in the bed. He had fallen into a diabetic coma and had passed while I was in class. I had just thought he was sleeping when I left him. I called the paramedics and then my mom. I blamed myself for weeks afterward.
Two weeks later I find out that I’m pregnant. I knew instantly that I couldn’t raise this child, and immediately chose to give her up for adoption. I had been adopted myself so I knew the benefit of the process. We found a wonderful family in my parents faith and chose an open adoption for their sake so they could know their grandchild. Everything had gone great until the operating room. They needed to perform a C-section. I have a narrow pelvic bone so whenever I have any more children, I’ll have to have C-section surgery.
She came out just about perfect, except for the cone head from an hour of pushing. And she’s grown into a beautiful, smart, funny and crazy little girl. Looks just like her father. I don’t regret giving her to such great folks. She even has a sister.
What sparked this sad stroll down memory lane was an episode of Golden Girls. Blanche was having a dream that her husband hadn’t really died and she was so happy and angry that he wasn’t really dead. But once she realized it was a dream she was at least happy that she got to hold him one more time and that she had some chance to say goodbye. I just couldn’t take it and broke down into tears. I still miss him so much. I knew I couldn’t change him being dead but when it hit me that I could have possibly kept my child, that was just too much to bear. Possibilities and alternate universes flooded my mind and I was just tearing myself up inside, it hurt so much.
I’ve built up so many walls, made of fantasy and distraction, that whenever reality comes to bite, it bites hard. I know she’s better off with these good people, but it still hurts.

Barter, Stop Buying
Money.
I detest the very concept of money. It is probably the most useless thing in the world. And I'm not just saying that because I'm up to my eyeballs in debt for student loans. I find the thought of paper and metal changing hands to be such a stupid idea it makes my head hurt when I need to make change at work.
But you know what does make 'cents'?
Returning to the Barter System.
I do something for you, you do something for me. I give you something, you give me something in return.
Why is this so hard to fathom? Because they don't want you to realize this. Because they want to have all power over you. Because they have been doing it since the dawn of time and they will never stop until they have eradicated us from the face of the earth. And worst of all, it's because we let them.
Money is the root of all evil. And they planted it.

The Pursuit of Knowledge, College not Required
If you really think about it, academic life is the biggest waste of time in human history.
Let me elaborate.
Having knowledge isn't a waste of time; but the way we are forced into it is.
From the time you can read you are sent to kindergarten (or pre-school depending on your parent's choice). From there you remain in school until you graduate high school. Many are then pushed into college. And once you graduate you are pushed into a job, until you are pushed into retirement. And from here, nothing but death.
Misguided is the word I'm searching for. Our academic lives are misguided.
I completely regret my schooling, especially in the last 7 1/2 years of college. I have two degrees, neither of them are in use as I have a part time job at a prominent pharmacy/convenience store. If I could go back and change anything, I would have audited the classes rather than now be in debt to my eyeballs and still have no idea what I want to do with my creative process.
Everything that I learned in college, I could have learned online, and if not there then I could have done something else. I had some good experiences in school but none enough to not regret my choice to go into school. I partially blame my parents for my first degree as I should have told my mother I didn't want to be a draftsman/woman, but I was in a much different place than I am now mentally. The second degree in Graphic Design is all on me. I wanted to do something creative but be able to have a career at it, and graphic design sounded like a lucrative solution. Unfortunately this too has been a waste, as I still don't know if this is what I want to do.
I can't be the only one that feels this way.
When I finally have kids, they are going to choose what they learn. Obviously I'm going to teach them the basic skills to survive in this world, but if they want to be scientists, I'll show them what to do to become one, same as if they want to be a doctor, lawyer or even a ditch digger. My kids are going to be free from the system that bound our ancestors.
How about your's?
