At the time of writing this, I have been stuck inside my apartment for one full week, with a few days to go before I'm able to go outside again. It sucks. Definitely unhealthy. I need fresh air so badly.
This post will go up exactly 25 days from now (me pre-planning? shocking, I know). I wonder how things will be then. What may change. Who will be there.
James, are you okay? Let me know.

One button done, five buttons open, but is he buttoning or unbuttoning? Does it matter? Either way, he is in a state of transition. A liminal moment. But which way is he heading?

Birds Aren't Real and an ND Welcome Weekend water bottle.

"I CAN't StAND THE RAiN"
This image feels like a writing prompt. Maybe that's just me. I can't help but wonder what kind of night was had that left this behind.
Feels like something wayward.
I would love to know what you guys think :)

I am, and always will be, incredibly thankful for friends who will go places and do things for no other reason than the fact than we want to and we can

Alexa has some of the most powerful eyes I have encountered in the past year. In a world full of masks, eyes are a huge part of how we communicate with each other, especially silently, and she has incredible control over hers. With the slightest glance, she can communicate waves of information without anyone else in the room even noticing. It is her superpower. Fear her.

I know this doesn't look all that crazy, but that's what's wild to me. The sight of a glass bottle half-buried in the dirt is not unfamiliar to me, or probably to most people. We've seen it before. But how did it get there? I may sound crazy, but seriously. We know that at one point in time, the bottle was dropped onto the ground, and now it lies mostly buried with the dirt tightly packed in around it. No one ever dug a hole for it, and I doubt the Earth's surface just expanded a few inches to absorb it, so how did it get there? Rain? Mud? Human or animal intervention? Whatever the answer, imagine how long that must've taken. For it to be covered this much and now to just be a part of the pathway. With the dirt-packed in by the steps of creatures above. How long has that bottle been there? It should baffle me more, but I always seem to just walk past.

For some of my latest captions, I have been delving into the recesses of my notes app. I recently found this one from December 29, 2020 at 10:08pm:
"Without googling, tell me: What is cloth?"
I think at the time I found this question more puzzling than it seems. Oh well. Feel free to throw your best guess in the comments!

"Out walking in the swamp picking cowslip, marsh marigold, this sweet first green of spring. Now sautéed in a pan melting to a deeper green than ever they were alive, this green, this life, harbinger of things to come. Now we sit at the table munching on this message from the dawn which says we and the world are alive again today, and this is the world’s birthday. And even though we know we are growing old, we are dying, we will never be young again, we also know we’re still right here now, today, and, my oh my! don’t these greens taste good." - David Budbill

"Necessity is the stepmother of innovation." - Gabriel Krut, 11/29/20 While he did not say this when this picture was taken, I like to imagine this moment of intense staring at a sundial evokes the same state of mind

"All my grief says the same thing:
this isn't how it's supposed to be.
this isn't how it's supposed to be.
and the world laughs.
holds my hope by the throat.
says:
but this is how it is"
