I hate it when people said I've changed.

I didn't change. Everyday I am a blank canvas in which my experiences shape and mold me. Life isn't about finding yourself, it's about creating yourself; and everyday I will learn something new that I will have to adjust to. It's not changing, it's creating, and if you can't accept and understand the person I am, then you're not a real friend. Please stop telling me you miss the old me, because she's gone. That whole "you've changed and I miss the old you" is cliche and annoying. I didn't change, you just don't know the real me.

We were best friends in high school. We liked each other but things didn't work out. Through everything we were still best friends. We told each other everything and knew how to make each other laugh and smile. I knew you still liked me, but I denied it when people asked if I liked you. And then distance became a factor and we stopped talking. We didn't know each other anymore. Now you have a girlfriend. I missed my chance. Because with all the excuses I made of not liking you anymore, I was lying to myself and everyone else. Now you're over there happy and with someone you deserve, someone that could've been me. It just sucks that at the end of the day, I'm always alone, and it didn't have to be like that.
