I needed something nice to look at so I could post here. This was yesterday's "focus" card. But I just read a little 2 line post about not talking about trauma, and in, do do it cus you can't heal that way. I didn't get upset, but it shocked me a bit. Scratch past the politics of the large amount of people that talk about trauma on this platform and others daily to make money liking it. I have had a lot of healing from talking about my trauma. But the next episode coming out if about someone who can help people fine healing without talking about their trauma. Yes, I know it can re-traumatize people just as much as it can heal people. This is why I say that 95% of blanket statements tend to not be true. There can be healing in talking about things in the "right" way and setting. I understand that what's right for me is not what's right for you. And I understand that that some people have every right to never want to think about what happened to them again, let alone talk about it. And that is what's right for them. But for the people who do find healing in talking, fantastic, get that poison out! And for those that don't, don't let anyone force you to talk about what you don't want to. It's your life, your past, your story, own it. It's up to you if you lock it up, throw it out, or share it with someone. But I personally make room for everyone at the table. When someone shares their past, what they have lived through, they show me the scars on their body and soul, I don't look away. I honer them, and their trust in me with gift of their greif, pain, healing, anger, and more than a few times laughter! Because by the time they are done, we are givings hugs and laughing! I will hang out in the valley of hell for a while with you, and we can share our maps with each other and walk our happy asses somewhere else! That card, I just realized is perfect! That card comes right after the Death card in this deck. It's 14 in they higher arcana.
