Lesbian couple physically threatened by homophobic Uber driver
An Australian Lesbian Couple recorded a homophobic rant by an Uber driver, which you can listen to HERE
The attack happened in Melbourne over the weekend when the driver became increasingly aggressive verbally when realising his passengers were a couple.
Since the event, the driver has been sacked.  Sadly this is not the first homophobic attack by Uber drivers and we ask how can this be stopped?

One Million Moms protest lesbian kiss on family-friendly TV show Once Upon A Time
Once again a group of ignorant and irrational people have decided that this beautiful and natural kiss is wrong.
The group “One Million Moms” have asked for financial backing to be pulled out from the television show Once Upon A Time.
A press release for their current campaign includes: ‘Homosexuality continues to be over-represented in the media because producers want people, and especially kids, to think it’s normal and everyday life. In reality, that is their fairy tale.’
Sadly this viewpoint is not the only homophobic reaction to this programme.

Femme Lesbian Jewellery Helps You Stand Out of the Crowd
Pink Lobster Shop set up by Pink Lobster Dating Ltd has now launched.  All products on Pink Lobster Shop are made by female designers for the lesbian company
So why a shop?  There are lots of gay and lesbian products on the market many covered in rainbows or with slogans such as "Dip me in chocolate and throw me to the lesbians" or "No one knows I'm a lesbian".  But does every LGBT+ woman actually want stand out?  Products in the shop include “yes i am” and “femme” necklaces.
Some women prefer to let women who interested in women know they’re available in other ways.  When you're a femme lesbian or bisexual, women often can't tell you're gay.  Pink Lobster's products will help others spot women who like women.  They can be worn with pride and will tell other women in a subtle way!  And what a a great conversational starter and wearers can tell people whatever they like as the products can be ambiguous.

Why lesbian teenagers still have sex with men
Lesbian teenagers have sex younger, have more partners and engage in riskier practices than bi or heterosexual girls, a study has found.
One in five sexually active lesbian teenagers in the United States also reported recently having sex with a man, according to the research, published in the Journal of Adolescent Health.
In addition, lesbian teens reportedly lose their virginity at the average age of 13 years 9 months, which is significantly younger than bisexual (15 years 1 month) and heterosexual (15 years 6 months) girls.

24% of young people targeted by online abuse in the last year
The threat of "trolling" is forcing young people to self-censor, holding back the development of the internet, experts warn as the latest survey highlighting the extent of online abuse.
To coincide with Safer Internet Day, a survey shows that almost a quarter of young people (24 percent) in the U.K. have been the target of online abuse in the last year.
Juliette Prais, CEO and director of Pink Lobster Dating, and her partner Emma Ziff, have been subject to homophobic abuse on Twitter and were subjected to "trolling" when an article about their relationship received hundreds of abusive comments from "trolls" after it was published online by a British newspaper.
Prais told CNBC via email that the comments were offensive.

Meet The Inspiring Women Fighting Stereotypes
As part of our #BREAKFREE from labels campaign, we’ve rounded up the inspiring words we’ve heard on judgement and fighting stereotypes this week…
Here are the inspirational stories of four women who have fought labels and overcome stereotypes...
‘As a femme lesbian I am part of an “invisible” group - we exist but are still not fully understood. I look “straight” so men often don’t believe that my girlfriend and I are a couple, women think that I want to make out with them and in the LGBT community, I have been turned away from gay bars because I don’t “look” gay enough.
Many femme lesbians are put down online and called fakes and frauds. Recently a LGBT journalist started an aggressive campaign putting down my partner and I saying that we are superficial and heightening gender roles. Whilst in reality we are all about women being proud and independent and being able to be who we want to be.

Labelling has held me back in that I have not always been able to be open and honest about my sexuality and I have been scared that people won’t get me. It wasn’t until I launched my dating and matchmaking company for lesbians that I realised it was necessary and indeed important to stand proud as a femme.
I have now totally overcome negative labelling and that is why I set up Pink Lobster Dating. I had such a hard time meeting women like me that I knew I had to create a community for women to find women in a safe and supportive way. Just because we are lesbians does not mean that we are all the same or that we fancy all women…I now hold my label as a badge of honour.’

How to be the most attractive woman in the room
I have spent years working with women and every day I meet women who inspire me in so many different ways.  Similarly, I meet women who exude incredible attributes, yet choose not to focus on them.  It is an honour and an opportunity to have been able to see women “in action” during dating events, mock dates as well as in our coaching and workshop days.  All in all I have put together below my top 5 best ways to make yourself the ultimate catch… and still be YOU!
1.   Be a good listener
You are probably fed up of this one and may believe that you have already developed good techniques in to how to actually listen.  Let me tell you something else, so many women say they are listening, but when I see them they are NOT.  This is how you listen successfully.   Wherever you are and however noisy your environment, you will only be a great listener if you learn to zone in.  Imagine that she is the only person in the room and focus on what she is saying (without being too intense).   Ask her questions about what she is saying as this shows that you have heard what she is saying and are in fact interested.  And do not look at your phone!
   2.   Be humble
We always emphasise the importance of exuding confidence and vitality when dating.  Nonetheless, you can still be your confidence selves and be humble.  Here’s how you can be both.  When you are on a date stand tall and be proud of who you are.  At the same time, when you are talking about your life and experiences etc. allow your date to be impressed gradually and do not focus on telling her how great you are, let her find out for herself and over time.  What is more, being humble involves being nice to her.  Remember this is a date and not an interview for a job, so pay her compliments even subtly.
   3.   Dress to impress
We work with all types of women, to those who don’t know what liquid eyeliner is to those who own 10 different brands in 5 variable colours.  The point I am making here is that even if you prefer to dress down in your day to day life you ALWAYS need to make an effort when dating.  It is important to be you.  But as you would for work, an important family day or even a wedding you need to show your date that you are taking her seriously.   We all know that when you get into a relationship we all make a bit less of an effort at home… and that’s ok!  What is not ok is to turn up to a date as if you’ve already been married for 5 years.  The women who make the most effort to look the best they can look have the most success.
   4.   Be in the moment
It is important that you are present when dating and be careful not to over think everything.  We as women have a tendency to over analyse.  If you are analysing you are not actually there with her, your mind is imagining rather than being present.  Just have fun, relax and enjoy yourself, these are the most attractive women in the room.
 5.   Don’t rush
I can always tell a woman who is desperate.  She is anxious, lacks eye contact and is not willing to just let things happen.  Many women are so concerned about finding a woman with whom she can settle that they often panic.  This leads to a number of different scenarios including endlessly dating for fear of “wasting” time on the wrong woman who may not be the one to just taking any old woman who comes along and then having lots of short term relationships.  The key here is to take your time.  Whilst it is important to feel a spark and a connection, it’s also important to enjoy the company of women and just see what happens.  You can’t control everything!
In all my years working with women, following these top 5 tested tips will make a real difference in helping you find the best woman.  I have many more tips and advice on how to be the best YOU. For more advice, you’ll just have to ask!
