Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-hearted People,
MY NAME IS, TRANS DIAN:
I AM A TRANSGENDER WOMAN.
I find myself in an incredibly challenging and vulnerable situation 😭 I am currently living in a refugee camp, far from home, facing both the struggles of 😭 displacement and the added challenges that come with being a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.😭
The road that led me here has not been easy 😭 and every day is a fight for survival😭, safety, and dignity. As a refugee, basic needs such as food, shelter, healthcare, and emotional support are often scarce. Being part of the LGBTQIA+ community in a refugee camp comes with its own set of unique hardships 😭. It's a difficult reality, and it is hard to explain the overwhelming sense of isolation that often accompanies my journey😭.
I’m reaching out to you today, not only for help but also to share my story and ask for your support during this trying time😭. The financial assistance I’m seeking will go toward my immediate needs—such as food, medicine, and other essentials—and will help ensure my safety and well-being as I continue to navigate this uncertain future. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a significant difference in my life 🙏
1. Financial Contributions: If you’re in a position to donate, I would be incredibly grateful 🙏 Your financial help will go directly towards ensuring I have access to food, medical care, clothing, and basic necessities.
2. Spreading the Word: Even if you cannot donate, sharing this post within your network can help raise awareness about my situation and may connect me with others who are able to assist.
3. Emotional Support and Resources: Sometimes, just knowing that there are people out there who care can make all the difference. If you know of any resources, organizations, or people who could help me, or if you just want to reach out with a kind word or message of support, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
I understand that many people are facing difficult circumstances of their own😭, so please don’t feel any pressure to contribute. But if you can, your support would mean the world to me and help me take the next steps toward building a safer, brighter future.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read my story and for any help you may be able to offer. Your kindness, compassion, and generosity will not be forgotten.

My name is trans dian and I am a transwoman refugee in South Sudan camp and a leader, writing with an appeal for financial aid for refugees at the camp as food rations have been suspended. I am appealing particularly for LGBTQIA residents at the camp. We are suffering from hunger to such a degree that there are going to be deaths before long from malnutrition and starvation. I am asking you to use whatever means you have to provide funds for even the basics of food to keep us alive while we are awaiting resettlement. Any sum, no matter how small, will be gratefully received and will help keep starvation and all the attendant problems that this brings at bay. In addition to the problem of hunger, some of us are also in need of shelter, in the form of simple tents, as we sleep exposed to the elements, experiencing extreme heat and extreme cold, and also dangers of attack from homophobic residents at the camp, as well as from snakes and scorpions. Please help: this is a crisis of enormous proportions, and no one deserves to perish as a result of the cessation of food rationing by international agencies. Thank you for your attention and may we count on your generosity and solidarity?

💔 LGBTQ+ Refugees in South Sudan Are Still in Danger — We Need You
To our friends in the United States, Canada, UK, and beyond—please hear us.
In the Gorom Refugee Settlement in South Sudan, LGBTQ+ refugees—especially transgender individuals—continue to face intolerable violence, isolation, and trauma. The fear hasn’t stopped. The discrimination hasn’t ended. And the world has gone quiet.
Two powerful articles recently shed light on our reality:
📰 News: "LGBTQI refugees in South Sudan trapped between a rock and a hard place" (76 Crimes)
> This investigative report exposes the threats queer refugees face in Gorom—abuse, harassment, and lack of protection even within UN-run spaces.
📝 Blog: "When I Needed a Neighbour, Were You There?" (Humanist World)
> A deeply personal reflection on the pain of abandonment and the moral cost of global silence in the face of queer suffering.
We at Trans Initiative Gorom, a grassroots group led by and for transgender refugees, are not asking for much—just safety. Just the right to live in peace and dignity, like anyone else.
What can you do?
🇺🇸 In the U.S. – Contact your elected officials. Ask them what they are doing to protect LGBTQ+ refugees in South Sudan.
🇨🇦 In Canada – Urge your MPs to advocate for international LGBTQ+ protections.
🇬🇧 In the UK – Write to your local MP. Your voice matters.
🌍 Everywhere – Share. Speak. Act. Let others know we exist. Use your platform for those who have none.
We are not statistics.
We are human beings, survivors, siblings, and souls in need of refuge.
Your silence is powerful—but so is your solidarity.
📢 Share this. Talk about us. Help us survive.

🌈✨ Happy Pride Month, my beautiful rainbow family! ✨🌈
This month, we celebrate love, identity, courage, and the power of being unapologetically ourselves. As trans dian a proud transgender woman and a survivor, I stand tall for all my LGBTQ+ siblings, especially those still fighting for safety, acceptance, and freedom. 💪🏾🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈
Pride is not just a party,it's a protest, a reminder that we exist, we matter, and we deserve to live with dignity and joy. To everyone still struggling: you are not alone. Your story is valid, your voice matters, and your light deserves to shine.
Let this month remind us of how far we’ve come, and how far we still need to go. I carry love in my heart, strength in my soul, and hope in my steps.
💖 To my queer family across the globe, keep shining, keep fighting, and keep loving.
We are the rainbow after the storm. 🌧🌈💕

HELP LGBTIQ REFUGEES IN EAST AFRICA SURVIV 🏳️⚧️🌈🙏🫂
We just left a devastating meeting with the government, the Commissioner of Across, and UNHCR.
The message was clear, terrifying, and final: the government does not want us queer refugees in this camp.
We were told to leave. Not tomorrow. Not after resettlement. Now.
They said: 'what are you still doing here? You were already sent away.'
They said: 'we don't want to see your minority group here again.'
They said: 'we have the same laws as where you came from.'
That means laws that criminalize LGBTQ people, with punishments like life imprisonment and even death. It means no protections, no rights, and no place for us.
The government's 'solution' is to dump us in a nearby city already unstable with war and poverty. A city where we have no shelter, no food, no security, and no protection from the homophobia that follows us.
We are being erased.
We are over 370 LGBTIQ refugees, if not 400 including kids in this camp. We are being marked for removal, not relocation. And we know what that means. We are being pushed into danger, into silence, into death.
And still, we asked, 'can we stay in this camp, under any terms?' because here at least we are together. Here, we still watch out for one another.
But they said no. They want us gone. Not just out of the camp, but gone.
This goes against the UN's own promises. It goes against basic human rights.
We are pleading with everyone around the world especially the queer community. Don't let them disappear us. Don't let us be silenced like this.
We are queer. We are refugees. We are human.
And if the world turns away now, it may be too late.

Spring of Hope: Stand with LGBTQ+ Refugees in Their Fight for Freedom
🌱 A Season of Renewal – A Time to Take Action
Spring is a time of renewal, growth, and new beginnings—but for LGBTQ+ refugees in Africa, the struggle for freedom continues. Many have fled persecution, violence, and criminalization in their home countries, only to face new dangers in refugee camps, where they remain targets of abuse, neglect, and extreme poverty.
🚨 The Reality for LGBTQ+ Refugees Today:
🏳️🌈 Forced to Flee: In many African countries, LGBTQ+ individuals face imprisonment or death for simply existing.
🏳️🌈 No Safe Haven: Even in refugee camps, they are attacked, denied aid, and forced to live in constant fear.
🏳️🌈 Survival Struggles: Without access to jobs or support, many are forced into dangerous situations just to eat.
🏳️🌈 A System in Limbo: Thousands are waiting for resettlement in safe countries, but political delays and legal battles have stalled the process indefinitely.
💡 Hope is Stronger Than Fear – But We Need You
This Spring of Hope, we are calling on our global community to step up for LGBTQ+ refugees. Love and generosity are the most powerful forces we have against fear and oppression.
💙 Your donation provides:
✅ Food, shelter, and emergency support for LGBTQ+ refugees in crisis.
✅ Safe housing and relocation assistance for those escaping violence.
✅ Mental health support and empowerment programs to restore dignity.
✅ Legal advocacy and global awareness efforts to fight for their rights.
🌍 This spring, let’s bring renewal, love, and hope to those who need it most.
💙 Will you stand with us today? Click below to make a tax-deductible donation and help LGBTQ+ refugees find safety and freedom.
Every act of kindness brings someone closer to safety. Thank you for standing with us in love and action. 🙏🏽💜
