Dust canonically has zero changes to Classic!Sans, aside from determination and the Dusttale plotline. Technically speaking, he's identical in every way, including appearance-wise. So what happens if he exploits this fact? This is absolutely against Dust and his character, but imagine if he was forced into it in some way. Dust has to take the place in a timeline as the Classic!Sans there to scout out for information. Bonus points if its a timeline they're on the surface just to give his misery a little zing. On the flip side of this, what happens if a Classic has to pose as a Dust for a similar reason? Maybe to lay low or escape trouble by pretending to be a more powerful version of himself, of also to gather info on Dust's side of the multiverse, like the Nightmare Gang or something. I could absolutely see Classic running into some trouble and then sneaking through the NG base as Dust while the latter is busy or stuck somewhere. Perhaps Dust has to steal something from a TP timeline or gain leverage on something and needs to act like Classic to do it, or even better pretend to be Classic to gain more betrayal-flavoured negativity for Nightmare.

Terrible worldbuilding concept: A dystopian world ruled by an iron fisted human where there is this massive fear and defense against the minority but existence of(werewolf, vampire, magic user, real world minority, whatever). Anyone who is this minority hides it for the sake of survival. There are some resistances or help groups for this minority, though they've been either busted over time or have gone into hiding. The powerful human in charge enlists armies and militias to capture and kill any and all members of this race. The plot twist is that they aren't a minority, and humans in fact do not exist. Everyone has been hiding their true lineage from each other that no one realized they were all the same race, and even the "human" leader is just this massive hypocrite who hates their own species.

Sans-centric UTMV stuff like Underverse is so funny to me cuz like. Imagine you’ve been exposed to the wonders of the multiverse, only to find out nearly every being of multiversal importance is a variant of the same guy. And it’s just some random dude. Like obviously sans has a lot more going on than he lets on but that’s the persona he presents to most people. So if you were from a normal timeline you’d most likely know sans as just “the guy who hangs around grillby’s” or “the guy who works the hot dog stand” or something along those lines. And then you see 2 copies of hot dog guy duking it out for the fate of reality. Could you imagine.

So it's implied that Horror is supposed to die when his eye is destroyed, right? As it's stated that its the thing keeping him alive. So what does his Soul do? Is it just a canister for his magic? Is it his life force that gets its power from his eye? From what we have seen from Horror, he does still have attachment and love for both Papyrus and to an extent Aliza, so his Soul is still there, but it doesn't seem to determine Horror's life or death. So what happens if his Soul is destroyed? Does he become Soulless like Flowey? Imagine a walking husk of a skeleton that had once would have done anything for his friends and family, now no longer having any drive to do anything. Horror would be absolutely terrifying without a Soul.

The pot balancing room in Queen's Mansion has a bug where if you talk to the final Swatchling and cross the finish line at the exact same time, you gain the ability to control the pot. This bug has never been fixed.

The UTMV fandom has got to be a psychologist's dream. For those who don't know, there is a large debate when it comes to what determines a person's behaviour and personality: Nature (oyur DNA, you're born the way you are) or Nurture (your experiences and memories shape who you are as you grow). The UTMV is all about taking this one funny bone man and throwing him into different circumstances and seeing how he reacts and what changes. In AUs, sure Sans' Nature can be different (like whether or not Gaster is his dad, creator, or just a guy), but ATs don't have that asterisk. Geno has the same DNA as Classic, as Sci, as Horror, etc.. Everything that happens around them and what they do shapes their character, to a degree proving Nurture has a more dominant effect on a person's personality. Of course, creators are the ones that determine how Sanses react to certain scenarios so it's not a firm foundation, but its implications are something. Say you have seven clones of the same person and raise them in seven different ways: one has loving parents, one is a lab rat, one is exposed to hardship and labor, and so on. It could be an incredible breakthrough for anthropology, sociology, and psychology. Is it unethical? Probably. Isn't it what we creators do to Sans anyway? Kinda, yeah.

I was thinking back to Undertale Yellow (spoilers for that) when something dawned on me. Martlet is always doomed to die. Think about it: Martlet is the final boss of Geno and this is the only instance the player themselves kill her. On neutral, she's the only death that is not optional, even if you abort Geno, because Flowey kills her in front of you every single time. The only time she remains alive is in the two pacifist endings, which are coincidentally the only two endings you die for good. There is no scenario where both of you are alive. There is no scenario where both of you are dead. Either Martlet lives with a dead human on her conscious or she doesn't live at all. Same goes for Clover. You are two sides of the same coin, fates relying on one another. There is no happy ending for both parties.

Yeah, you are right. I probably should've specified that he feels no remorse for destroying the CORE and screwing over Undyne and those she cared about. Horror is really stubborn in the sense that he will do what he thinks is right for himself and his people, even if other people view it as morally incorrect. Aliza really shows his growth as a character and ironically gives him more humanity in that sense.
Playing "Spot the Difference" with MTT+C is fun and redundant because there is no wrong answer. Cross: Has roots as both a Classic and Swap Sans Has a ghost (Chara) Killed everyone Has remorse Uses blade as weapon Does not have psychosis Can feel emotions but masks them Confirmed relationship with Gaster in their timeline Is not aware of Creators but is aware of the creation of timelines Determined Killer: Has roots as a Classic Sans Has a ghost (many actually, their just hallucinations) Killed everyone Has remorse kinda Uses blade as weapon Has psychosis Can't feel emotions unless Stage 1, sometimes puts on fake ones Confirmed relationship with Gaster in their timeline Is aware of Creators Determined Dust: Has roots as a Classic Sans Has a ghost (Phantom!Papyrus) Killed everyone Has remorse Does not use blades as weapons Has psychosis Can feel emotions but masks them No confirmed relationship with Gaster in their timeline Is not aware of Creators Determined Horror: Has roots as a Classic Sans Doesn't have a ghost Has not killed everyone Has no remorse Uses blade as weapon Has psychosis Can feel emotions but masks them Confirmed relationship Gaster in their timeline Is not aware of Creators Wants to go back to bed
The rest of the differences really come down to visual design There are also differences that only two of them have, like Horror and Killer having missing/broken eyes, Cross and Killer both being hacked into existence and having confirmed relationships with Nightmare, Killer and Dust being the only ones who can remember resets without finagling their code, etc.

You. You sir, keep talking. You have good ideas. I fully support this kind of yap.
This has made my day, thank you! I've always enjoyed writing and thinking up stupid ideas, so this blog is just a bunch of what-ifs I'd love to see. I've also read too many comics, and the inconsistencies between different outcodes and universes are fascinating to me and demand explanation. Here's a shorter one I wasn't initially planning on posting if you're interested:
Karma is either depicted as needles of phantom pain or not at all, but the way I've always headcanoned it as was acid. Pink acid that forms when dust of those you've killed react to Sans' magic. It avoids corroding anything besides flesh and amplifies in effect with how much dust you're covered with. It then quickly boils off, disappearing completely, but the damage has been done. Whether it's a property any monster can learn or only Sans/skeletons is up for debate. I'd also like to think a lot of the Sanses that turned to LOVE as something to gather lost the ability to conjure this nasty corrosion, but it can still be used against them if they're stuck fighting a much lower LV Sans.

Fatal Error is so underrated and underused. As a fandom we kinda collectively view him as the weird cousin in the 'Error family', but his moveset and how it functions says a lot as to what outcodes, universes, and the multiverse as a whole is made of. Fatal is able to copy and paste codes, be sentient or not. If it weren't for the fact that Fatal mostly keeps to himself, we'd be a frighteningly powerful being. He could mass-produce an army of an all-powerful deity. He could mass-produce weapons of destruction and chaos. He could mass-produce healing items and food or stuff with other magical properties. As long as it's made of code, he can abuse it. He can even stitch code together to make something new. Fatal technically could take pieces of code of a similar type and make them into something even more potent. Collect a bunch of healing item code and stitch them together, you get something that could heal an army, like some items in DR heal multiple people. Fatal does actually do something akin to this by going around and copying Swap Sans code to make himself a new Papyrus, named Patch. He can even corrupt code too, to the point one can barely function as they were before, as seen with... *checks notes* ............. *deep inhale* Lost Flicker Gans Bans Ean Missing!File Bob Sans. It also brings up as to what happens if he tries to copy something or someone not made of code, like Nightmare, who's not from the UTMV technically anyway. Does it fail? Fatal isn't really known for his fighting capability, but he's really good at the act of surprise. Outside of 0.7, it is canon in his own comic that he's able to capture and kill a Cross. Like, just imagine a story with me. Someone somewhere manages to get Fatal to join their cause, whether through promises or blackmail. They suddenly have access to an awesome Rogue, cloning ability for free, and infinite supplies. Copies also retain all the memories a person would have at the time of them being copied, and no one can tell if they are one or not. You don't even need to "bring a hostage back alive" for interrogation when all you need is their copy. And the cherry on top, leaving Fatal to his own devices will let him stitch a bunch of code together to make a Frankenstein-flavoured whatever, likely new to the multiverse using old pieces, which could be useful or the downfall of whoever Fatal is working with. The only thing Fatal is really missing to become the danger he could be is motivation. Even then, there was always one special someone he always cared about...

I like to think that when one of the big outcodes (Dream, Ink, Error, Nightmare, etc) find an Aftertale, they all have some sort of dilemma of what to do with it. For those who don't know, Aftertale has a Sans named Geno lost on the save screen influencing a Sans down in the actual timeline with the goal of destroying their universe to stop the Human. Eventually there is a happy ending where the timeline doesn't get destroyed and Geno gets to go back home, only for him to become an Error soon after. There's also an offshoot of the story where Error finds Geno and tries to kill him, only to unintentionally create Fatal Error. Ink likes to pride himself on being a protector of AUs but also has reserves with messing with their natural outcome, so he's probably not bothered by the main route, but if another Error is created out of it, then what? That'll just make his job harder. Not to mention that Error's involvement in Fatal's creation probably rubs him the wrong way. It could be that's simply just the fate of some Aftertales, but is Fatal really made because of Error? Makes me wonder what Ink's views on Fatal are. Dream has no qualms messing with an AUs story to make it a more positive timeline, but Aftertale's story typically resolves itself perfectly well without his involvement. It's just a matter of what he should do when the story is done. Fatals don't typically cause a lot of problems, they copy what they need and then leave, but Error's are filled with negativity or spite, but does that outweigh the positivity of the new happy ending? Perhaps he should pull Geno out of the Anti-void before that happens? Creation and Destruction are supposed to be a balance too, right? Nightmare only wants things to suffer and will mess with timelines to get what he wants. If he finds an Aftertale, he might ensure that the ending is not happy, or even prolong Geno's suffering. but what about the Error that comes out of it? Fatals do house some negativity and can copy life, temporarily making slightly more negativity than before, but that's really about it. Errors on the other hand hurt and destroy, they ruin worlds and lives. But he also kills people. If he can find a way to control Error, that's not an issue, but if he can't, would the pay-off of negativity Error produces outweigh the damage he'll do to the current emotional economy? Error just doesn't care whatsoever and does whatever he wants. If he's already learned his lesson about Fatal, he might leave the timeline be, but if not, he'd just destroy it for the fun of it. It should also be noted that Error doesn't know Geno is the past version of himself, so if he ever finds out that Geno's stuck in the Anti-Void and going to turn into him, what would he do or think? He could see the creation of himself, and it suddenly makes more sense why Geno and Fatal feel so familiar.

Killer and Dust are absolutely enemies, yes. But I'd like to think they could somewhat tolerate each other for a while before the bloodlust kicked in. Dust and Killer probably look at each other as hypocrites, since they both killed the whole underground, but I could see Dust at least being a little reflective considering they were both forced into doing so by the human. So what's the thing to start the animosity? What if something triggered Killer's Soul into Stage One and suddenly itches to leave Nightmare's command. Dust hates it there probably even more than Killer, so they try to escape. They might not like each other per se, but the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Unfortunately, Nightmare finds them and forcefully switches Killer's Soul to Stage 2 again. Killer's recent memories get kinda scrambled as he's commanded to attack Dust. After several years, they're both still stuck with Nightmare. Dust is simply known as Killer's punching bag. Stage Two Killer is seems fine with this, But he can't remember why that's the case.

Dreamtale but Breath of the Wild. Dream wakes up after multiple years and has to save the realm from Nightmare's corruption and come to terms with his memories and past. He needs to balance saving the universe and helping villagers via sidequests and actually having some of his own time like caring for a horse. And Dream only weighs three apples. Think of the potential

I feel like I've gone mad. A couple years ago I stumbled on an image of a Dreamtale post depicting shadow Fell!Papyrus that Nightmare had summoned as servants. They had no brains, but theoretically they could be an army he could mass-produce. I... have never seen this used. Or talked about. This is canon, right? It's on the canon Dreamtale deviant blog. It's in Joku's older art style and says its by them, though I can't find the comic in their archive. Has this been retconned or deleted? If this is still true, that Nightmare can just create an army of really stupid shadows, I'd like to know what the MTT or Nightmare Gang would have to say about it. Maybe they could be worried about being replaced and killed off for something arguably less efficient but more obedient. On the more humourous side (or angsty side depending on how you look at it), how would they feel should they see Nightmare spontaneously giving birth to an evil version of the brother that most of them had killed? Maybe these shadow Papyruses are the lowest of the chain of command and each of Nightmare's cronies get access to an army of them? Some would definitely be better at being a general than others. I feel like this forgotten idea has a lot of potential behind it considering recent developments with the fandom's interpretation of the relationship Nightmare has with his subordinates, but man this concept feels really out of pocket.

As much as it is kinda stressed in canon that Killer was the first and longest running(?) of Nightmare's minions, I kinda like to think that Murder would've been maybe not the first but still the one who was stuck with Nightmare the longest. Few or no replacements, it was just Dust. I mean, like, think about it. Killer is basically just a soldier that follows commands, and it's better to have something not question your authority than to have someone feel bad about what they're doing, (especially when they can't feel good without hurting Nightmare either). He does want to feel, but Nightmare can't let that happen. Murder is the very opposite. It's mentioned in his original ask-blog that his will is almost unshakable, that AUs and other alternates are out of his jurisdiction, and that his sense of self-loathing is so bad that it's come full circle and is the one thing that won't let him kill himself. He thinks he deserves the punishment he's inflicted on his timeline. While Killer is Nightmare's cooperative, apathetic front line worker, Murder wouldn't stand what Nightmare is doing and probably resist for much longer. From word of god, he might reluctantly join in until he can find an out, only to do the bare minimum. But if you pull from other points that I mentioned above, he might just stop. He'd do nothing, no matter what Nightmare did. He wouldn't even bother trying to leave, thinking of this as his karmic justice. Plus, it's not like anyone would care if he's missing, like Colour or Horrortale Papyrus. Dust would just loiter in his room or cell, not giving the time of day. Killer might wander by with Horror every so often only to go "And to your right is a Sans in its natural habitat" or something, only for Murder to shut himself out even more. Shame he's still a brilliant back-up battery of negativity for Nightmare to get rid of him completely.
