WIEIAD TW: ED, undereating, cals, mention of ed thoughts+food guilt, this is your kind reminder to scroll away if this is the kind of thing that triggers you OR if you're considering/in recovery or if u just shouldn't/don't want to be consuming this content.
Tumblr media
WIEIAD recovering from being sick and for some reason i actually had more than 2 meals today??? (Usually the absolute max) this is good ig, gonna try to be happy instead of sad abt this. I'm vegetarian btw in case anyone is wondering why there's no meat or fish in my day.
Breakfast: Had some oatmeal but instead of using a splash of milk and mostly water, i used a splash of a chocolate protein shake my grandpa bought me, i can't stand liquid cals but i wanted to try it since protein shakes are usually like THE fit thing, it was way too high cal, i did have some more later but then i gave the rest to my younger sibling, cuz it's essentially choc milk and obv she liked it so idrc. With the oatmeal, i had an apple, and recently i replaced sugar with honey for most things idk why it was kind of random but it happened so i used a teaspoon of honey to sweeten the oatmeal instead of sugar. After that i had an orange (hard to believe i used to be scared of fruit bc of "sugars" and how "calorically dense" they are, i'm still pretty sensetive with fruit but i do eat them. Ngl i think the orange was a binge bc i rly wasn't going to have it and i didn't even want it and i felt full and had knew it was just gonna add calories, but i ate most of it out of control and threw away the last two slices, felt really bad after the binge too Cals: 364
Lunch: had some leftover ig stew? It's a traditional dish called "canja" but it's essentially a chicken stew and all the other ingredients can vary quite a bit, i had half a boiled carrot, with 2tbsp of the rice and i added 1tbsp of canned black eyed peas for protein and heated it all up. Afterwards, i had about half a berry yoghurt and threw the rest away :/ Cals: 98
Pm snack: had a small slice of melon and a 10kcal zero sugar jelly, it's so good and cheap, i bought it when i was sick cuz i felt like gelatin so i wouldn't puke again but i couldn't stand sugar so problem solved. Cals:28
Dinner: had like 5 bits of colourful twisty pasta (sry idk the name of it, it's like penne pasta but it's twisted and not hollow, yk?), and another 1/2 of boiled carrot, with 1tbsp of black eyed peas and less than half a beetroot. Cals: 66
Late night/post dinner snack: immediately after dinner i got hiccups and i hate hiccups; they're terrible so i had some tea to calm down (it actually kind of worked? Thank God cuz hiccups are so painful) and a plain buiscuit. Cals: 31
Daily total: 587kcal (trying not to be too harsh on myself, especially as i was literally sick yesterday but i still feel terrible as this is more than double my daily limit, ik that's terrible). Got around 23grams of protein, which is prob not enough, i could have just had the full protein shake as it would have given me 25g of protein but i'm really scared of liquid calories.
Water: not sure exactly how much but i know i got at least 2L, prob a little over it. My goal is 3L when i do overexercise a lot but 2.5L when i do nornal exercise. When i don't reach this goal i have to have at least 2L otherwise i feel bad.
Exercise: decided to try out sprint intervals instead of long running but only managed 6mins or so of 30:30 sprint intervals, so i learnt something new to work on, increasing my resistence during sprinting. Looking on the positive side of things is always nice ♡ (≈50cals?)
Sleep: tommorow i don't have school so despite going to bed at almost 12pm i'm hoping to sleep a lot. Update, i had maybe 7hrs or so. Not enough as the amount women need is between 8-10hrs and men only need around 7-8hrs (again gonna depend on a lot of other things, don't feel bad for sleeping "too much", if ur concerned it could be a symptom of something, visit a doctor if you can cuz both being under and overly tired can be a sign smth is worng, but as long as ur having at least the minimum amount it's fine ig). Sorry i just wanted to info dump abt the amount of sleep u need hehe, but srsly i haven't been getting enough sleep recently which sucks cuz i love sleeping.
I know it was a lot of writing. Stay safe and have a good day 🩷

Tumblr media
I've been bloated for like 5 days, and i spent the night puking and my heart rate is lower than normal, and the bloat sucks and is rly painful. even aesthetically. i can't stand looking at myself in the mirror, but i got these 45cal lemon, lime and orange ice lollies to curb my craving for ice (can't tell wether it's due to dehydration or anemia) and i also got sugar free jello (10kcal/pot), and my grandpa bought me protein shakes but they're chocolate flavour and kind of high cal, i wouldn't mind adding a little into my oatmeal in the mornings i do eat so it's fine ig. But i checked today and i'm pretty sure i'm at like 47/46kg (104/101lbs, the scale is a little off so i can't be certain), this would be good if i didn't have a nutritionist appointment soon (i'll prob be like 43/ 44kg by then. Help; she'll know i haven't been following the meal plan, i could always just chug 1.5L water in the morning and then right before the appointment too?)
In summary, there are good and bad things but i'm keeping my head held high and staying positive. Life's a bit hectic but i'm all good rn. If we could dm, would be awesome as having some privacy and not saying everything on the blog would be very well appreciated.

Tw:mention of calories, ED, weight loss and maths for those of you scared of it
How to calculate how much u'll lose/have lost in a certain period of time with any given amount of cals:
Tumblr media
(Maintenence level cals × amount of days) - cals consumed + cals burnt = total cal deficit
For kg, do: total cal def. ÷ 7700 = how many kg lost
For lbs, do: total cal def. ÷ 3500 = how many lbs lost
Hopefully this wasn't confusing :)

Helloo, just wanted to say i edited/updated this post a little for anyone who cares abt that ig
Reasons for bloating and how to help with it
Tw: Despite this being a mostly normal post abt bloating, it does mention eating disorders/ disordered eating behaviours, if u find this triggering, proceed with caution and don't follow me
Post below the cut
Tumblr media
I split the post into three parts (general tips, linfatic system and immediate bloating from overeating/bingeing), and this ig will serve as the introduction, as I didn't write one.
General tips:
Sleep: females need between 8-10hrs per night, higher amounts in different parts of your cycle too. Men need 7-8 only
Laxatives: laxatives can actually cause constipation so if they're not having an affect on you it's actually better to go easy on them. Also if they're causing you pain, they're causing damage to ur digestive system which may require surgeries later to fic and let's be honest most people don't have the money for that. Laxatives should NOT be overused in any way and i wanted to add that in cuz i forgot at first but also harm reduction/health and safety ig so please stay safe people
Water: drinking between 2-3.5L water/day is very important.
Fiber- fiber is extremely important to keep a good digestive health, pack your diet with fiber (veggies, fruits, wholegrain/wholewheat things, anything that says it's high in fiber too)
Hot liquids- can help with constipation
Black coffee- helps with constipation+good for liver health and only like 2cals unless u get the instant stuff which is like 17 cals (Don't exaggerate on the coffee tho, and if you have anemia or any heart/ anxiety related problems i don't reccommend it at all)
Peppermint and ginger can help your digestive sytem get to work apparently (my source for this one was literally a quick google search but it was on a medical article so do with that info what you will)
Avoid carbonated drinks. Once in a while it's ok, but other than the fact that drinking them often can cause kidney stones, they can cause bloating
Eating too fast can cause bloating
Food high in salt or spice can also increase water retention and cause bloating (tho spicy things are a natural appettite suppressant and i think i've heard they help you have a bowel movement, and that can help.
Also, stress can cause a spike in cortisol levels, which ,when exagerated, could maybe make you grow a tiny bit of fat, not smth u rly should be worrying abt, maybe like a short meditation video every once in a while and avoiding too much coffee ( a couple of mugs prob won't do much, again it's rly not smth to be super stressed abt), also overexercising can cause an increase in cortisol (in which case Also, stress can cause a spike in cortisol levels, which ,when exagerated, could maybe make you grow a tiny bit of fat, not smth u rly should be worrying abt, maybe like a short meditation video every once in a while and avoiding too much coffee ( a couple of mugs prob won't do much, again it's rly not smth to be super stressed abt), also overexercising can cause and increase in cortisol in which case, salty food is prob a bbetter option, altho u will have to. Drink even more water, but don't forget your electrolytes!
Especially after long periods of malnourishment, your digestive system can have some trouble digesting the food you're eating, which can cause bloating.
Also make sure to note how ur body reacts to different types of food as food sensitivities can also be the cause fo bloating.
Linfatic system:
Bloating can be due to improper drainage of linfatic fluid (which is for the most part normal and prob not something rly bad but if ur worried u can go to the doctor ig, most people get it once in a while and our malnourished or bingey selves prob get it even more)
Water helps with the digestive system but also this one.
Things like not wearing clothes that are too tight, a healthy and balanced diet, and regular physical activity can rly help with maintaining a proper functioning of the linfatic system
For debloating to do with this, you can try stretching/yoga. Also linfatic drainage massages so massaging (especially on ur legs and arms) can help, u can also lay on the floor with your legs up straight against the wall, for about five minutes which could hypotheticlaly help
Immediate bloating from overeating/ bingeing:
The general tips above help but here are some extra things from when you're bloated from overeating/bingeing:
Abdominal massages also really help with bloating (make sure to do circular motions and horizontal motions too not just straight movements up and down ur stomach. Also going from ur hip bone up is a really good movement for the massage)
Lastly, here are some debloating stretches for if u overeat/binge and the bloat is painful this can help debloat or, at the very least, reduce the pain:
youtube
youtube
Reminder that you can't get rid of normal weight fluctuation, yes bloating can be the cause of it but ur weight may fluctuate for many other reasons like hormones too, especially during certain times in ur cycle, mostly due to again ur muscles just reataining water). That doesn't mean u should dry fast like not have water as water helps more than bloats, if anything, (also helps u lose weight and reduces ur appettite, and even helps u with working out and stuff, what's not to love?) and when you dry fast, u lose water weight so u think u lost a lot more weight than u did, so when u start drink water again, you'll be even more worried and think u gained a ton out of nowhere cuz u thought u lost a lot during the fast. Also it's rly dangerous and terrible for ur health. There's no benefit, not even for wl, that dry fasting can give you.
Idk if there's anything i haven't mentioned out of the most important things so i think that's all. Thank you for being patient and taking the time out of your day to read this to help yourself, youu deserve good things. You should def try to read some of this stuff on ur own too, i don't guarantee that i always have 100% of my info correct i'm only human and, again, not a professional, just a nerd. Stay safe ♡)

WIEIAD Tw: ED, cals, food, undereating below the cut.
If any of these things trigger you/ if you're in recovery or considering it please leave, find something nice to watch and i swear recovery is worth it, keep going. Here something cute to make you smile.
Tumblr media
So this is my first WIEIAD since the poll said i should post them. I was gonna do a video and i had footage of a whole week+was editing it but i changed my mind, mostly out of a wish for privacy. Recently i've been struggling a little so i can't bring myself to restrict less, i'd say that currently OMAD'ing dinner with a cal limit of 150 or so when i'm not fasting is what you could say to describe my general diet; i'm not rly following anything specific and i'm also trying really hard not to be strict and maybe soon i'll try to increase my intake a little, especially on days i'm working out since i've been overexercising a lot.
Breakfast: i had a bite of a BK potato chip leftover from the fast food my mom ordered last night despite usually avoiding fried foods at all costs (i ended up not having any BK last night cuz the smell made me sick), and i also dipped a plain buiscuit (29 cals) in some homemade jam (around 20cals/tsp), but i only had a small bite and threw the rest away so i'll say Total: 40cals
Skipped lunch (so easy to do when u have school)
Dinner: i had 1/2 serving instant mashed potatoes with a tbsp of peas, a tbsp of black beans and a handful of mushrooms, i made some instant gravy but it was gross and i also had a small tomato and some chuchu (it's a vegetable) Total:275
Ended up having most of a pear. At least it was good :(
Finished off the night with some "detox" tea (ur body already detoxes itself these things are lies but honestly the tea is just good and i need to get rid of this bloat and have some comfort, couldn't bring myself to put in milk tho
Daily total: 460cals I'm rly sad abt this but idk ik it's barely anything but i calculated how much weight i'll lose if i stick to my limit and i'm not doing good. Again, i try hard not to be strict but going over my limit is just the end of the world and idk what to do. I'll burn extra calories tommorow. Have a good day people, stay safe ♡

♡ Tips for hunger ♡
εїз Feelings of hunger often come in waves and they generally don’t last more than 15 or 20 minutes.Typically if you wait it out it passes.
εїз I like sleep a lot although it was a good number of fasts before I could easily sleep.
εїз Exercise can help, sometimes a lot. Some squats, push-ups or even up and down some stairs.
εїз Brushing your teeth and tongue can suppress appetite without food. The minty taste of toothpaste discourages most people from eating.
εїз Drink a full glass of water before you eat and then sip a full glass between bites, you'll get full much faster. Remember it takes 20 minutes for the brain to realize the stomach is full.
εїз Eat denser food because it feels like more. Light and fluffy foods compact in your digestive tract and you will feel hungry soon after.
εїз Never eat anything bigger than about a cup, your stomach will expand and you'll get hungry more.
εїз An orange or grapefruit a day helps appetite away.Research suggests that     low-calorie plant foods that are rich in soluble fiber, like oranges and grapefruit, help us feel fuller faster and keep blood sugars steady. This can translate into better appetite control.
εїз Carbonated water can be a GREAT help when you are feeling hungry during a fast. Any plain carbonated water or 0 calorie sweetened carbonated waters are safe to drink while fasting carbonated water can make you feel more full than regular water because it contains carbon dioxide! Carbon dioxide fills up your tummy super fast and can really help if you are having intense food cravings!
εїз Chewing gum is a LAST RESORT! If you really need the FEEL of eating something, sugar free gum would be your best option without breaking your fast. The reason I say this should be a last resort is because although it may satisfy your hunger temporarily, gum can actually make you feel MORE hungry later on in your fast. This is because you are giving your body the sensation of chewing, so your body thinks you are going to be getting food soon.
