Yandere Shigaraki w/ an innocent reader:

I feel that someone sweet, naive, and caring would be Shigaraki’s primary choice for an s/o. I hate to sound insensitive when I say this, but he has a lot of mommy issues. One of the only times that he’s ever felt genuinely cared for was with his mother and he remembers her often and fondly. One of his most reoccurring and significant memories of her is when she’s fussing over him and his "allergies”, soothing his irritated skin. It’s obvious he wants to be cared for and he usually doesn’t take well to people who are disrespectful. He’s never been babied before and he wants to feel that warmth.

He can be very manipulative in order to get what he wants. He will often guilt trip a naive s/o into giving him the affection he craves. He sees your innocent gullibility to be endearing and he knowingly takes advantage of that.

Will probably be comparing you to his mother a lot in his head whether he realizes it or not. When you touch him like no one else is brave enough to do so sweetly, he thinks of a simpler time before he was cursed with such a dangerous and isolating quirk. He becomes itchy whenever he’s emotionally unbalanced and you’re the only one who can momentarily pacify that. Just being in your presence soothes him to the core.

He would never actually hurt you, and he’d be very paranoid of hurting you by accident due to the fact that this is how he lost his mother, but he’s not above threatening you to get what he wants. He won’t go as far with this as he would with most people because he hates to see you genuinely upset or fearful of him, but he’s not above affectionately gripping your wrist with one finger hovering too closely over your skin in a non-verbal threat to get you to return his affection. As your relationship progresses, you may notice that you abruptly stops this behavior and waits for you to come to him instead with a solemn expression. He’s touch starved and he’s willing to do morally dubious things to get that from you, but at the end of the day, he doesn’t want to have to threaten someone to love him. He just wants someone to treat him like a person and not a unlovable monster for once in his life.

He’d overshare his villainous escapades with you and he tends to verbally vent a lot of his emotions to you in private, but he never wants you to be present for that violence unless absolutely necessary. If he thought that bringing you the heads of your enemies would make you swoon, he would gladly do that, but he easily judges your disturbed expressions at the mention of violence as you being a peaceful person. He admires that in you. He’s also smart enough to know that that would just upset you and, as I said before, he hates seeing you upset and he doesn’t want you to fear him. He’s more socially competent than people give him credit for.

It doesn’t seem this way with his abrasive and domineering demeanor, but you may be pleasantly surprised to find that he’s a lot more lenient with you than he is with most people. One of his biggest love languages is gift giving, so if you offhandedly mention that you want something without outright asking for it (he’ll feel like you’re taking advantage of him if you do), you may find it laying next to your bed the next morning. He’ll do a lot of things for your happiness that you may not even notice.

This isn’t to say that he’s a pushover though. While he is softer with you, he still has a need for the feeling of being in control and he’ll feel very vulnerable catching feelings for you. He won’t do everything you ask and if he needs to show you who’s really in charge here, he will. He’ll get you a sapphire necklace he stole off someone’s body bought with his own money like a good law-abiding citizen, but he would never let you go outside no matter how sad you became. He can’t risk losing you.

- which is what would get him to notice you!

- at first, he would want nothing to do with you, labeling you just another extra, but he’d start paying more attention to you.

- he’d watch what you did, noticing how you can’t cook or clean very well, and it’d make him pity you even more...

- but by that point, he can’t get you off his mind.

- all he thinks about is you 24/7, and no matter how hard he tries to preoccupy himself, all he can think about is you.

- and when he realizes he can’t get you off his mind, he’d start getting.... violent?

- not with you, of course, but he’d just start taking his anger out on things like his pillow or a wall.

- all the while mindlessly helping you out.

- see, if you were to make a mess, he’d start cleaning it up while mumbling about how lazy you are.

- if you were going to order take-out, he’d cook you a meal.

- of course, he wouldn’t say it was for you, he’d just put the food in front of you and walk away.

- if you asked about it, he’d say; “it was just some leftovers from the fridge, nothing special. fuck off.”

- and hey, now it doesn’t matter if you can cook or clean because housewife bakugo does it for you!!

- all in all, bakugo would be more of a tsundere rather than a yandere, but if need be, he’d kill for you!

hmmm I think it would be more of an equal relationship? from the oneshot I wrote they both seemed very power hungry lmao (in a good way). - with a sigh you confronted him and asked him why he was teasing you so often. you tried not to seem annoyed, but it was evident in your tone.

- he thought about it for a moment, and that's when he realized why he was teasing you.

- "I think..." he started, pausing for a second to gather his thoughts. "I think I'm in love with you."

- the way he said it sounded like he was confused by his own answer, which he was.

- he had never been in love, so all these feelings were very new to him.

- he was so busy with the league, and his plan to get back at endeavor, that he didn't even realize how he felt towards you.

- to put it simply, he felt stupid for not realizing it sooner.

- he'd expected you to get angry with him, yell at him and tell him to leave you alone, or something like that.

- but, you responded by nudging him with your elbow and giving him a cute little laugh. a laugh that melted his heart, might I add.

- "well then," you said, smiling at him. "I think I'm in love with you too."
