King Katsuki sat on the stone wall of his balcony, legs swinging freely in the air, as he watched the flames lick at the letter. He hoped the resulting billowing smoke would carry his words to his long lost love; knowing with a heavy heart it wouldn’t. Because it never did.

Sighing, Katsuki let the last remanence of the cream parchment disappear from his his grasp before swinging himself back onto the solid ground of the balcony itself, and trudged back into his gilded cage.
