Today my grandma and I stood over the sink and gleefully gnawed the last of the mango off the pits while my mother chided us for being messy and I thought, “this is how mango is meant to be eaten”. Surely we could not have been the first grandmother and grandchild in history to be scolded around the kitchen for chomping fruit like little gremlins.
Today I was sitting in the car with my mom, getting ready to go to Goodwill. We each had a box of raspberries to eat (they were only $1.50 each, fucking decadence), and I was like, “ah, this is what money is for: acquiring the fruits of the earth” :)
