Hii you don’t have to post this but it’s the anon that asked about bkpp, thank u for responding to my q! And thanks for the heads up for me and others too. I was just curious bc I found it interesting that they have a whole nickname as a pair (bkpp) so I thought maybe it was bc they were a thing lol. thank u again!
oh no problem my dude! happy to help :) and yeah that’s totally understandable! since you’re new to bls i figured that’s why you were wondering :) just as a kind of heads up, there’s just a whole Toxic Thing in the bl world (other fandoms too but bl as a genre has a particularly Problematic background) so i felt like i should mention a few things in addition to what you asked! just to give my own self peace of mind and to avoid encouraging anyone with a toxic mindset

Hii sorry I only recently found ITSAY and it’s the first bl I watched but I was curious if BKPP date in real life? I’ve been googling but I don’t know Thai :c
ehhhh i also don’t speak thai but as far as i know, bkpp haven’t said anything explicit about it so no one really knows except them and the people they’re close to
to people in general and not specifically at you, anon: i don’t recommend speculating beyond that cause it’s really no one’s business but theirs. they’ve both shown themselves to be supportive of the LGBT+ community and that’s all that should really matter

okay listen i get that teh relinquishing his spot in university was a super emotional, irrational, and stupid decision. i get it. but why have i not seen anyone mention that it’s what oh asked him to do?
i mean, even as kids: what “if miss nuan had chosen you, and i said i wanted to play, would you have let me?”
yikes––
i’m not saying it’s oh’s fault, it was definitely teh’s choice - i’m just saying, for a dude who’s very smart and has a tendency to way overthink things, there’s no doubt in my mind that those words stuck with teh (and those lines were a really deliberate writing choice to convey that and even foreshadow that ep. 4 scene). and i do not think oh meant for teh to take it this way - i actually don’t think he meant it at all, it was just him being upset and lashing out - but in episode one when he found out he didn’t get in by direct entry, oh said “you’re so good at studying. why didn’t you go through the admission system?”
now, pair that with the show’s theme of “if you love someone, you can’t stand to see them sad.” itsay framed sadness as the most honest language of love and i could write a whole essay on that but not right now and on top of that, oh-aew’s sadness in episode 4 was directly caused by teh.
again, a rational person isn’t going to take this to heart, and i dont think teh really did until he was emotionally torn apart and we all know he wasn’t being rational right then.
i’m just saying, it’s not just one single thing that led to teh doing that. there was the false hope when someone showed up late, there was the guilt from hurting oh, and more guilt on top of that because teh thought he’d led oh to give up on his dream. and then, on top of all of that, all the guilt and the hope and the lack thereof brought oh’s words back to the forefront of teh’s mind.
on one hand oh-aew didn’t mean to ask teh to do that for him - but on the other, even if he didn’t intend to, he actually kind of did.

Itsay Ep. 4: A color progression analysis
Oh-aew (red) and Teh (blue) start the episode off separated and in their own worlds, dealing with the aftermath of Teh’s rejection of Oh in the last episode. You can see them both wearing their signature colors in this first part...
Even when Teh brings Oh back to the boat on the motorbike, they’re in their own colors, on their own difficult paths.
The next significant time the colors show up is when Tarn asks Teh to color the hibiscus that she has drawn. We know that this flower is significant for the boys as they wore them in the last episode. Tarn expects Teh to choose purple as that is the color of her bra but he ends up choosing red (Oh-aew) instead.
In an effort to make up with Oh, Teh uses red scissors and makes the cover of the book blue, binding his and Oh’s colors together. In a way, this might be because he wants them subconsciously to be together as well.
When Teh arrives to give Oh-aew the book, they are both wearing blue. It is also significant that Teh is wearing a shirt with red hibiscus flowers and Oh’s shirt says ‘the things we can’t say’.
The shared blue could be for many reasons but here’s a few theories:
1. At this point, Teh is still unsure or confused about his feelings but he can with Oh in this part on his ‘terms’ and in the safety of them being concealed. It seems like Teh is almost living his ‘fantasy’ without thinking about the consequenses which could be why they are both in blue.
2. It also could be that Oh is so relieved that Teh has taken him back that he’s willing to do anything to be with him, even if it means relinquishing ‘himself’ and what he wants.
After they emerge from the water or the “blue”, it is clear that Teh wants to leave what happened between them behind closed doors or ‘under water’. This, of course, causes the fight where Oh finally stands up for himself and leaves Teh alone.
Now this next scene is a tough one. You could break it down a million ways but I’m going to string along with my theory...
The significance of the bra being red is that he’s ashamed that he isn’t what Teh “wants” but then quickly discsrds it because t’s not really him and he can’t give up who he is just for someone he loves. He crumbles to the ground in his red shorts, mourning the loss of what they had.
Even after Teh leaves the island, Teh has red surrounding him constantly. His motorbike is red and Hoon’s helmet is red. Even though he tries to escape his feelings for Oh, red follows him everywhere.
When he gets on the flight, he is surrounded by red and is alone as well. Even the picture of the actor inevitably reminds him of Oh.
Teh is haunted by red (Oh-aew) which is why he inevitably gives up his spot for Oh, thinking that it will somehow make up for his actions and all the pain he has caused.
This, of course, backfires, and we end with the boys both in white.
Because of each other’s reactions, they’re feelings/colors have faded away. They are colorless and they’re finally back to square one. True equals.
So the question is... what color will they end up with?
