All the plushies I've currently made; it started a year ago thanks to Pup constantly eating his beds and I refused to bin the stuffing 🤣

The first 4 were all hand sewn, and then a work friend asked if I could make memory bears. So he gave me 4 of his granddad's shirts, and I made 4 bears (after buying a sewing machine lmfao)

Final is a fat dragon I made for @oxventure for Birmingham MCM last year 😁

Currently have these 2 bears on the go, but this pattern has significantly more parts and I am procrastinating 🙈

The first is for my brother's partner and the other was supposed to be a Christmas present... 😅

(I tried to post this before and it disappeared, so apologies if this appears twice)

I made a teddy! I got the kit at a car boot sale on Thursday and it only took a couple of days to sew him together, piece by piece (and a lot of that was just trying to get the sewing machine to work for some of the larger pieces! 😆). It surprisingly was not as difficult as I expected!

I added a squeaker and some weighted beads to make him feel a bit more solid.

I'm really happy with how he came out, he's so cute!! 🧸❤️

I was just looking through my art folder and randomly found this old drawing that I did back in 2021 (4 years ago ahhhhhh *internal screaming*).

I think I didn't post it at the time because I couldn't be bothered to finish it / didn't feel skilled enough, but honestly looking at it 4 years (ahhh) later, I kind of like the basic style? It gives me children's book vibes. I adjusted some shadows slightly and added the shooting stars, but otherwise I'm going to leave it untouched. Maybe I'll re-draw it one day, who knows. But for now I think I'll leave it be.

It took me moment to remember, but I think it was based on one of my DMC stories. I haven't re-read it so apologies if it's terrible, but I remember it has a scene similar to this. You can find it here if you want XD

I've never been formally diagnosed with anything (and don't plan to be as I'm functioning perfectly fine and would rather the slot on any waiting lists be reserved for people who are actually struggling), but I'm painfully aware of the fact that I can sometimes do the whole "hyperfixation" thing and in the past have accidentally babbled a bit more than I probably should to people about things I'm interested in.

I noticed recently that a lifetime of growing up with what I'm now realising were some not so great friends (and unfortunately family, as I'm discovering more and more the older I get) means that I have got into the habit of either not talking about things at all, or prefacing any mildly "niche" thing I'm about to discuss with "this is probably stupid, but", "you'll probably think this is lame, but", "this is so cringe / dumb, but" - but, but, but. Always prefacing so if they hate what I say I can just laugh awkwardly and move on.

Friends did it, colleagues did it, family did it. And I didn't even realise how much it had changed my sense of self worth and confidence when it came to talking about stuff. Until recently.

I was talking to a new colleague and did my usual "ah you'll probably think this is stupid but", but when I started talking, she smiled and said "Hey that's not stupid at all! If it's something that makes you happy then that's really cool!"

A little while later I was talking about some silly in joke my brother and I made recently. "Haha, this is so cringe, but..." I began. She said "I don't think it's cringe at all! I think it's sweet you and your brother are close!"

And it kept happening. And not just with her.

People were genuinely interested in the fact I was looking for a small jumper for a teddy I bought. They didn't think it was childish or weird. In fact, they wanted to help!

"Crochet? Cool, I do that too!"

"Oh, Sonic huh? I don't know much about it, what games can you recommend?"

Over the last few months I've slowly discovered that it's OK to actually talk about your interests to people. It's OK to confide in people. Not everyone will just roll their eyes or ignore you, or use what you said to bully you later.

Sure, maybe they're just being polite because we don't know each other very well, but honestly? That's all it takes. I'm still in the process of training myself not to doubt everyone who is nice to me and to stop thinking that they're just pretending to care, and unfortunately I think it's going to be a long process. I keep feeling like I'm in a bubble that will pop any second and they'll reveal their true selves. But I'm getting there, I hope. And eventually, maybe I'll stop second guessing everything I say, and panicking after every interaction that the person must think I'm weird or hate me now. Because in the long run, no-one really cares about what just happened but you. I'm just sad it took me so long to realise.

I have a half written Vergil-focused story that I suddenly remembered. It was a really cool concept because rain played a big part in it, and I only ever wrote it when it was raining irl. It's due to rain in the next few days and I thought I'd check in on it and was horrified to see it has somehow been almost 2 years since I started it?!

I should really just finish at some point... Guess I'll have to hope for some more rain when I'm not busy... 😅

I've had a story going on in my head for so long now that whenever I try to write it down I feel like I'm writing fanfiction of my own characters.

Those guys have formed relationships, loved, argued, broken up, got back together again. I have freaking crackships of characters that don't even exist.

Some of them turn 17 IRL years old this year. I remember imagining them as 20 years old as a kid and thinking that was so cool and old. Now I'm older than them.

I'm desperate to write their stories, but how do you condense 17 years into a single tale...

(Yes I'm struggling with writing again and I hate it. I don't think I'll ever publish anything about those guys. I always end up writing random vignettes about them when I have writer's block. I don't think it helps. 😅)

Everyone, LOOK at this lil' guy I picked up in an antique store. He's so precious omg.

Apparently he's a Wayne Kleski doll from the "Katherine Collection".

My man is full of beads!! I picked him up and instantly got this weirdly elated / satisfied feeling and knew I had to get him. I think it's because he moulds so well to your hand or something? Not sure, but I keep wanting to hold him and every time I do, I feel happy.

He reminds me of The Baron from the Ghibli film The Cat Returns, so I have named him "Earl".

Apparently my new job has a gaming society?! And they actually invited me to their Discord today! I'm playing an online game with them on Thursday! I'm MEETING THEM ALL NEXT MONTH (at a board game cafe that *I* suggested!!!)

This is so cool omg, I might finally make some new irl friends! I've been feeling weirdly lonely for the last couple of years since the few friends I do have are all spread out now, so this genuinely makes me really happy.

It took 7 years in the same company, but it's finally working out! 🎮♟️

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remastered

The adventures of Marveux continue! This time he has awoken in a mysterious prison cell, and now somehow he's been tasked with finding the Emperor's Heir?! Poor Marveux wishes he knew how he kept ending up in these situations.

Still, he seems to have retained his title of Elden Lord this time at least, and has once again been blessed by a Pretty Lady (he sure seems to have a made a habit of that...)

And so he sets forth on another adventure, this time as an Elf for some reason! Will he ever find peace? Will he ever be able to just settle down with one woman? Only time will tell!

"Oh great, why is my skin grey now..."

"Maybe I can hide it with armor... At least no-one can see my ears now..."

Following on from my Bloodborne / Blood Moon Ursaluna observation, allow me to introduce you to Marveux:

Marveux started as a random character I created for Bloodborne, my first Souls-type game. I have now started to recreate him in similar games, and have developed a little timeline for him as a result over the last couple of years. The new Ursaluna being so similar to Marveux was hilarious to me, hence the observation, and I have now decided to canonically add "bear form" to Marveux's adventures. It even has the "corrupted eye" on the right side!

Presenting: A Brief History of Marveux:

Bloodborne: Marveux Debuts.

A simple man, Marveux had no idea what was in store for him. He somehow managed to resist the poison spreading through Yarnham, instead channelling it all into his left eye, which allowed him to see things he really shouldn't have been able to.

Following quite possibly the most traumatic experience ever, Marveux bests the Moon Presence and... Becomes a slug. Assuming he becomes the "new" Moon Presence, Marveux eventually tires of his eldritch existence and tried to regain his humanity.

Enter Blood Moon Ursaluna!

The Moon Presence appears in front of a crimson moon and this new bear has a crimson moon on his head. Coincidence? probably I think not!

Marveux tried his best, but *insert unspecified amount of time* of ingesting Beast Blood and being a literal Great One meant it was a little difficult for him to regain his human form too easily. Instead he ended up as a bear man / beast hybrid and fell from the skies, ending up on the shores of Kitakami. He manages to walk on two legs, and has even fashioned himself a cloak of sorts. He even got his original eye colour down! But it's just not good enough, and that poisoned red eye of his is now completely black.

"What cruel existence is this?"

Elden Ring:

Finally, after escaping from the small child that imprisoned him, Marveux retreated to an unspecified location to slowly regain some of his humanity. By the time he is summoned by the Forces That Be to become the Elden Lord, he passes as human again, but barely. He starts off with nothing to his name except a loin cloth salvaged from some of his old fur, and a crudely made club. He's got both eyes back, but it seems he can't quite shake the corruption from the left one.

Marveux has seen some things...

Slowly, Marveux regains his strength, salvaging what he can from his kills. Eventually, after yet another horrifying adventure, Marveux weds Ranni and becomes a Lord. Things, while insane, are good for a while.

(Marveux started as a wretch in this game, with the idea being that he was somehow reincarnated by a higher power, but this also works with the new Pokemon timeline, since he's only just become human again and wouldn't have any armour or weapons etc.)

Demons Souls:

An unspecified amount of time later, Marveux, now a Royal Lord is investigating something for his Queen, Ranni. Through unspecified means (because my boy is extremely unlucky), he slips through a fog gate and finds himself in the world of Boletaria. Unable to find his way back, but fortunately still in possession of some of his powers for once, he sets off on a journey to return home (wherever that is) and reunite with his four-armed love.

His eyes are finally starting to regain their colour, although both eyes are now a strange mix of red and green. There was a time when he tried to claw his red eye from his skull, but all he ended up with was some gnarly scars.

Alright, so he meets another girl on his journey, but it doesn't mean anything, promise!

I've only just started Demon's Souls so I'm not sure how it ends for him yet, but time will tell.

And that's the (current) Tale of Marveux!

When and if I play any more games like this, I'll have to see if I can fit them into the timeline somewhere!

I found this T-Shirt today and honestly the design is so funny to me, because surely it would make the most sense to have Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, right? Iconic trio and all that. But instead we get *Shadow* (not that I'm complaining lol), and it's like, were they all just posing for the photo and then Shadow suddenly turned up and yeeted Tails out of the way at the last minute or something? Why does his background look like blood?? Why have two red backgrounds together??? It was clearly meant to be Tails! Maybe that meme about Shadow and Tails having beef is more accurate than we thought. 😆
