Me and loneliness are old friends. We don’t get along, but I always go back. that’s how it goes, I’ve found. But god, does it hurt. Every single time. I don’t think I’ve ever had a worse feeling. I have more regrets than water in the ocean, and I’m afraid that this is all I can do about it. So, to everyone I’ve ever loved, I am truly, truly sorry. I wish it didn’t have to go like this.

But to my enemies?

Fuck you.

I had a life, you know. There were… flaws, yes, but there’s no such thing as a perfect life. Hell, it’s hard to believe there’s such a thing as a happy life nowadays. I did my best. I cut out the bad every chance I got, and I held onto the good. Is that such a crime?

Well, everyone has regrets, I suppose. Maybe that’s why I wrote this. I don’t know about you, but I regret so much. I couldn’t list them—there isn’t enough paper in the world for that, nor any amount of machinery that could handle the input.

Let’s not discuss that. My point is – as slowly as I’ve gotten to it – that sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures. Let it be known I hate what’s happening, I don’t want to do this. And look, I know there will be people who think as much; my parents for one, some of my exes maybe, but I’m not dead. No, that doesn’t mean you can find me. I don’t want to be found.

And if I don’t want to be found, I won’t be.

i welcome you all to the verdant mainframe, aka my writeblr. my name is verde (they/them), and, well, there's no right way to say this, i suppose... but i am in the centre of a strange, henceforth unknowable, digital landscape. from the inside, it looks almost like a forest. but i take it from the outside it just looks like numbers, doesn't it? in so many words, i am a little... trapped here. don't worry, i'm working on it. but oh boy, do i have a story or two to tell while i'm here, unscrambling this network.

a little about me, i've been writing for most of my life, and decided to jump the gun and make a writeblr account for this project of mine. and i do mean jumping the gun - the project is so new it hardly has a name! tentatively called "the verdant project" (because we love a connected motif in this house), i'm aiming to make a multimedia story, containing everything from letters, video and audio transcripts, message threads, and more. the aim of the verdant project is to tell a story with all the means available to me. stories are everywhere, in so many forms, so i want the verdant project to explore that! the smaller details are currently unknown to me, 'course, but i wanted to get my foot in the door early (assuming the door is an endless line of code i am trying to escape from. fun metaphors and the like).

SO, first things first I think your account is super cool. Your project in the works also seems super dope. Can’t wait to see where it goes.

Now down to the nitty gritty I’m so glad that I stumbled across your account and your one specific post in the first place. I myself have also been on my way to physically creating a story that’s been in the works for around six years now. Problem is my quite lazy nature ( 😝) has only led me to write two short chapters. I’m getting the motivation back however.

NEW “POST GENRE” ANNOUNCEMENT!

As my longtime mutuals/followers fans are probably aware, I have a habit of creating “post genres”—aka, where I create a series of posts along the same themes or using the same system.

Announcing the arrival of a new “genre”:

OC INTERROGATION!

In these posts, I will select questions that will elicit an interesting answer or reaction from individual characters and interrogate them!

These “OC Interrogations” will be written assuming the character is locked into a room—under magical “truth serum”-esque effects—until they answer the provided questions! They'll be written in a format similarly to my outlines, but they'll be continuous until I get through all the questions!

[as she spoke, slowly stopped trying to fight the words escaping her. Just stared dead-eyed at the camera by the end] (finally, finishes numbly) “... it's just... easier to let them think that.” Hmm... I see. That looked like it was hard to admit, Carmin.
