Part one
Hero is sitting on the hardwood floors of the living room, as they pass another block to their baby.
She takes it with a giggle, stacking it atop the other ones. Hero can't help but grin at how much this activity is entertaining her, and them as well.
"She's getting good with those blocks."
Hero jumps at the sudden sound of Villain's voice behind them. They must have snuck in through the balcony again. Villain comes and sits next to Hero with an annoying grin.
"You need to stop sneaking up on me like that! And you need to stop breaking in." Hero exclaims, shoving Villain's shoulder.
Instead of immediately responding, Villain feigns hurt.
"Ow! Not in front of the kid, what are you teaching her about hitting?" Villain teases with a snicker before answering seriousness. "You can't come out and fight with me anymore -"
"I have an infant to take care of."
"-I understand why, but that just means I have to come annoy you here now." Villain finishes like Hero didn't interrupt. Hero rolls their eyes at this. They've been coming regularly now for the past few months, never knocking, just letting themselves in. So irritating.
The baby crawls across the floor to where both Hero and Villain sit, having forgotten about her blocks. For a moment, Hero thinks their child is crawling to them until she makes a beeline for Villain. Not surprising, Villain has quickly become a favorite for the young child.
'Betrayed by my own kin.' Hero thinks quietly, shaking their head.
Hero can't pretend they haven't been of help, though, with how they seem to so naturally know how to care for the baby. Hero still wonders how they know so much about child care, but Villain won't divulge. At the very least, the extra pair of hands has taken some burden off Hero's shoulders.
They watch as Villain reaches for her, another one of those rare genuine smiles on their face they only ever seem to show while here. Hero tries to ignore how it makes their heart beat faster.
"You're getting so good at crawling." Villain coos, picking the baby up gently. "At least someone is happy to see me here." Villain says humorously.
"I bet it's the only time anyone is happy to see you." Hero replies, though their tone isn't as serious, and they scoot closer to Villain.
"Heh, probably." Villlain shakes their head, still smiling, though as they hold the baby.
Hero feels the same questions burning in the back of their mind again, curiosity eating them up from the inside. They know Villain is unlikely to answer and will dodge the question again like always, but Hero can't help but ask.
"Are you a parent, Villain?" Hero's voice is quiet as they ask, soft as they bring up the subject. They've never asked so directly before, and for a split moment, they think they see a flash of sadness on Villain's face.
Before they can respond, though, the baby makes a noise, spitting up directly on Villain's shirt. Hero immediately comes and takes the infant into their arms.
"I'm so sorry!" Hero's voice is apologetic, as they look to make sure their baby is okay. Villain is unphased, though, as they smirk.
"Don't worry about it." They look to how she immediately smiles up with those chubby baby cheeks and dimples at both of them. "She thinks that's funny. You're raising a little mini villain, Hero." Villain's voice is full of amusement. Hero rolls their eyes as they stand.
"I can wash that for you if want, I think I have a spare shirt in about your size." They offer, still feeling bad. They set the baby in her play pin as they lead Villain through the house to their bedroom. Hero paws through their dresser until they find the shirt.
Turning around, they find Villain is already removing their own shirt, and Hero tries not to pay attention to the curve and contour of their toned body. Flushing red, Hero thrusts the shirt in their direction, averting their gaze.
Villain takes it, chuckling at their reaction.
"You really don't have to apologize. You have an adorable kid." Villain's voice is softer than normal.
Smiling gently, Hero nods. This is something they both can agree on. "Yeah, she is."
"I have no idea where she gets it from." Villain continues, teasing in their tone evident. Hero pushes their shoulder in retaliation.
"I happen to be adorable as hell."
Villain takes Hero's hand and pulls them close. "You're just hot. There's a difference." Their voice is low and rumbling.
Stomach fluttering, Hero can't help the heat rising up their neck. This has also been happening frequently, Villain's teasing and flirtatious comments. Hero can't tell if they actually mean it or are trying to get a reaction.
Hero doesn't know how to respond, always replying to their teasing words with flustered laughter or deadpan replies. When they don't respond, Villain continues speaking.
"I'll come back later to return your shirt." Their voice still has that playful air, but they look a little dejected. They turn to presumably climb back out the balcony like a maniac.
Before they can think otherwise, Hero grabs them by the elbow, their skin soft and warm under theirs.
"Wait- you don't have to leave." Their voice is still sounding flustered as they speak in a rush. "You should stay. If you want.."
Villain's resulting smile has their heart quickening. "I couldn't say no to spending more time with my favorite ankle bitter. Or to annoying you some more." Their voice is light and joking as they head out of the bedroom, back towards the living room.
"Have you ever thought about having any more?" Villain asks suddenly, as Hero follows after.
They haven't really thought about this. The kid they have now is already a handful, but the mental image of a big family is an endearing one.
"I haven't really thought about it," Hero says, picking their infant up from her pen. "Why do you ask?"
Villain leans in close, offering a finger to the baby. They smile as she grabs it, before looking up to Hero's eyes. Their gaze is full of warmth and amusement, and something else that gives Hero butterflies. Villain's voice is warm and flirtatious when they speak.
"We could have some cute babies."

heyyyy love ur writing (SO IMMERSIVE IDK)
can u do a snippet where the villain likes to lie a lot (but in a joking way. Maybe sometimes not. UP TO YOU) x a hero who can tell when the villain is lying
"Okay. I'm sick of this. How can you tell?" Villain demands, stopping mid fight. They hold Hero in place, not giving them an inch of leeway.
Hero's smug smile is so infuriating, they can feel their heart beating faster at the sight.
"What ever do you mean, enemy o' mine?" Hero spoke in a sing-song voice, still grinning. They don't fight Villain's hold, perfectly content at annoying them currently.
"How can you tell when I lie. You always seem to know, you're always calling my bluffs." They say, trying to keep their stern tone. "I know your power isn't lie detection. It's telekinesis... unless you have multiple powers?" Villain muses, like they haven't considered this possibility yet.
Hero laughs lightly. "I'm sorry, am I supposed to believe you when you threaten to blow up a bridge or kidnap the mayor?"
"Sometimes I'm being serious. You always seem to know when I'm telling the truth or not." Villain responds in a huff. Their grip on Hero tightens ever so slightly, but they don't seem to mind. "Tell me how."
"That's some pretty useful information you're demanding. Why should I tell you? It's nice being able to call you out on your lies." Their voice is lighthearted, but Villain knows Hero won't give them what they want without something in exchange.
Groaning, Villain bites. "Alright, alright. I'll leave the city and all civilians thereof alone for... two days. 48 hours of me not kidnapping, killing, maiming, or destroying."
Hero hums as they consider this offer. "Make it a week." They insist after a minute of deliberation.
"Fine," Villain snaps, not particularly happy but relenting, "I'll be on my best behavior for a whole week. Now tell me."
Villain's grip on Hero eases up as they sit up, steadying themselves. "Your nose scrunches up when you lie. You also get this adorable crease between your brows." Hero speaks, a thumb going to brush up against their forehead softly. Villain doesn't move away but instead frowns in response.
"That's it?" They ask, disbelieving they have such obvious tells.
"Also you clench your hands. Like you can't keep your fingers still." Hero adds, voice still airy and teasing. "If it makes you feel better, I don't think anyone else has figured this out."
Villain backs away now, putting some distance between the both of them, as they feel the beginnings of heat rising to their face at this.
"God, I hate you so much." They say through gritted teeth.
Not returning their irritated or embarrassment tone, Hero smiles, stepping back into their personal space yet again. They lean in close, grabbing them by the chin.
"Your nose is all scrunched up again, liar."

Hero couldn't stand anymore, weakened and aching down to their bones. Destruction and ruin laid all around them, and they felt hopeless.
Standing above them proudly, Villain grinned, delighted and smug.
"Are you going to get back up? Keep trying to defeat me?" Villain's voice was deep and sonorous, full of amusement.
Taking a deep breath, Hero's chest ached. They knew if they tried to stand again, their legs would only give out.
"Please." The word came out desperately, exhausted.
"Aww, are you begging now?" Villain cood, stepping closer to Hero, making them tilt their chin to meet Villain's gaze. "Are you begging me to spare these people? Your friends? Begging me to make the pain go away?"
Villain's touch was deceptively soft as they cupped Hero's jaw, pulling their face closer to where they stood. Hero felt shame swirl deep inside their gut, reaching into their chest and threatening to squeeze their heart.
Hero nodded mutely, and Villain smiled even wider. Their gaze looked possessive, hungry.
"Beg, then." Villain's voice was soft, and they moved one hand from cupping Hero's jaw to brush a stray lock of hair from their face. They lifted a thumb, running it across Hero's bottom lip, smearing the blood that was there.
Lifting their thumb to their own mouth, Villain tasted the blood, making sure Hero was watching, before speaking again.
"Beg, my dear."

Would you plss write something where a villain and hero realize they're soulmates? Thank you<333
Hero grunted in pain as they clutched their abdomen and tried to catch their breath. Their head swam, and their vision blurred as they attempted to gain their bearings. One second, they were in a massive fight against several villains. The next, they found themselves being pushed back through a portal. Supervillain was likely to blame for that, with his ability to warp people anywhere in the world.
Hopefully, their communicator wasn't broken in battle, so they'll be able to send their location to their team. If they could even find it.
They try to stand, and immediately, their vision starts to darken around the edges and their head throbs. With a hiss they fall back to the ground.
"Careful, you probably have a concussion."
Hero cranes their neck to see Villain a few feet away, remarkably less injured and approaching. They don't have any weapons drawn, but still, hero feels their heart lurch.
They open their mouth, trying to speak. "I didn't see you go through the portal.. " Even their voice is laced with pain.
Villain is closer now and stops a few feet away, kneeling so they're at eye level. They seem to be assessing Hero's current state. Probably to see if they can easily finish them off, Hero assumes.
"I came in after you." Villain says nonchalantly, like this is the most obvious thing in the world. They eye the blood currently dripping down Hero's head, and the large gash in their arm.
Hero snort, and their chests aches in protest. "Why, to finish the job? Make sure I don't come back?"
Standing up and getting closer, Villain rolls their eyes.
"No, idiot. One day, if you die, it's not going to be at Supervillain's hands. Or because you bled out in-" Villain looks around at the tall trees, the lack of buildings or signs of civilization. "- the middle of the...pacific northwest? I don't even know where we are." They finish, unsure.
Hero tries to sit up as Villain kneels down again, closer this time. "I don't know either. I lost all my tech, I don't even have a way of contacting my team."
"Lucky for you, my stuff faired much better." Villain says smugly, and Hero wishes they could knock the look off their face. "I'll send my location to my henchmen, and they'll come to get us."
Villain reaches out for their arm, and Hero immediately finds themselves flinching away. Villain's lips press into a thin line.
"I'm not going to kill you, like I said. Unless you want to bleed out before someone arrives, you should let me treat your wounds." Villain's voice is firm as they pull a small first aid kid off their utility belt.
"I'm not going to bled out, it's not that bad." Hero tries to keep a defiant edge to their voice. For all they know, Villain will kill them, probably inject them with some poison or something just to make it easy.
"How bad did you hit your head? Are you blind suddenly? Because it looks pretty damn bad." Villain opens the small kit, showing Hero the contents. "Look, normal first aid crap." Their brows are furrowed, frustrated by Hero's reluctance.
Finally, after several tense seconds, Hero relents. They nod and slump their shoulders, as Villain moves closer now.
"The amount of trust issues you have is ridiculous..." They grumble under their breath as they slowly pull the damaged and blood-soaked sleeve of Hero's uniform back. They get a good look at the deep and long cut. Their frown deepens.
Pulling off their dirty gloves, Villain speaks again as they reach for something else.
"I'm going to have to clean this before I dress it. You might need sutures, though." Grabbing alcohol wipes, they use one hand to hold Hero's arm steady, grabbing their forearm.
Hero immediately hisses and jumps back, wrenching their arm from Villain's grasp.
"Jesus christ! Cleaning it shouldn't hurt that much!" Hero exclaims, even more tense. "What did you do, burn me?" They demand, but then they see Villain's expression. Their eyes are focused on Hero's arm, and their face looks cloudy and unreadable. They don't respond to what Hero said, like they didn't register it.
Hero looks down at their arm, and their eyes widen when they see it. Right on their arm, below the wound is a handprint. A completely different shade than Hero's skin tone, it stands out. A soulmark. Right where Villain grabbed them.
"Oh..." Is all Hero can manage to say in this moment. Villain seems to snap out of their trance and reaches for Hero's arm quickly, wrapping their hand back around where the mark is. It fits perfectly.
"This is...this really...this wasn't here before, right?" Villain asks, even though they saw Hero's completely blank and markless skin moments before. They unknowingly tighten their hold, and Hero yelps, their arm still in pain.
Pulling their hand back like they were burned, Villain finally meets Hero's eyes. "You're..." Villain trails off, shaking their head. They look away, palm to their forehead like they're trying to process this.
Hero feels like the forest floor will open up any minute and swallow them whole. If it weren't for their probable concussion, they're sure they would be taking this a lot harder. It feels like there's a charge around them now, an electrical current, live and dangerous between them.
Finally, Villain swallows and talks. "Let me just...let me just treat your wounds, and we can talk about this later." They manage.
Hero just nods as Villain returns to their first aid kit, ignoring the spark and air of tension now between them.

hi! i love your writing!!!! would you like to write about a hero who went undercover at the villain鈥檚 base and they fell in love? maybe they鈥檙e afraid that the villain will torture them for information after finding out their identity, but in reality the villain is still in love and possessive of them?
Hero's hands twitch at their sides, a sweat starting to bead on their face. They try swallowing, anxiety making their mouth dry. Villain has been quiet for several minutes now, brow pinched together.
Staring at the evidence that exposes Hero's betrayal, the proof of their undercover mission, their face is unreadable. Finally, after what seems an eternity, they speak.
"You've been working against me this whole time." Villain's voice is tight, like a cord ready to snap.
Hero's heart lurches, pulse drumming in their ears and fear making their knees wobble. What would come next, now that their secret was revealed? Torture? Imagining all the ways Villain could inflict pain upon them, making them spill their secrets made Hero shake even more. Death is certainty. Villain would not forgive this.
"I- this isn't- I wasn't..." Hero fails to find the right words, floundering now as they try and steady their voice.
Villain looks them directly on now, and Hero finds the pain in their face, the anger, to be more cutting than they ever imagined.
"Was the...was the way you looked at me fake too? The way you spoke with me, the way you'd let your touch, your gaze linger." Villain speaks with a fire in their voice now, eyes steel, "Was that all fake? Apart of your mission? To make me think you felt something for me."
Flushing hot at the accusation, Hero is quick to defend themselves, throwing their hands up as they try to reason.
"No! Of course not! That...that wasn't part of my mission." Hero speaks now with less fear, emboldened as they speak only the truth.
"I wasn't supposed to develop feelings...but I did." They find Villain's eyes watching them with an indiscernible emotion as they continue. "I won't lie and pretend I wasn't undercover, but how I felt about you wasn't fake."
Hero's cheeks feel warm, as they realize they're admitting their feelings now. To a villain who's likely to torture them any minute now, no less.
Stepping closer now, backing them up against the wall, Villain is silent for several moments. They reach up, grabbing Hero's wrists as they exam their face for any falsehoods.
"You truly have feelings towards me?" Villain finally asks. Hero nods mutely, not breaking eye contact. They feel their heart racing as Villain steps closer.
Villain pulls them by the wrists, reaching for their own belt and quickly binding their arms with a pair of cuffs. Hero has no time to react, and immediately feels their panic rising. Oh no, this must be where the torture starts. The roaring of their own heart is so loud in their ears they almost miss what Villain says next.
"You obviously can't be trusted around secret information anymore, or the weapons room, for that matter. I'll have to keep you in one of my rooms." Villain muses, as they pull Hero along now, not letting them drag their feet.
"...What?" They don't understand what they mean by this. Villain snorts, rolling their eyes.
"Well I'm not letting you go, obviously. Even if wasn't worried about you taking secret info back to the enemy side, I want to keep you here." Villain's voice is lighter now than from when they first discovered their betrayal.
Hero gulps, looking back up at them. "You're not going to torture me?" They ask hesitantly.
Villain barks out a laugh. It's a rough and warm sound, and it makes Hero feel even more weak.
"Of course not. I'm going to keep you here, I'll make sure you're comfortable, but I'll be damned if I'll let you leave me now."
"I don't understand...why?"
Villain pulls them closer by their bound wrists, their chests nearly pressed together now. Hero can feel their breath across their cheek, lips inches away.
"I'll let you in on another secret, my lovely little spy," Villain begins, voice barely above a whisper now. "I've come to love you, too."

Hero looks to Villain, face somber, before the pain in their expression becomes too much to face. They look away, averting their gaze.
"I'm sorry-" Hero stumbles and trips over their own words, but are quickly cut off.
"Don't. Don't apologize, I didn't expect anything else." Villain's voice sounds tight, holding back emotion. "I knew you would never feel the same." Villain looks away as well.
Hero's chest tightens. They don't know what to say in response, but they need to say something.
"I just...I didn't expect this. This came out of nowhere." They try and explain, explain why they reacted the way they did when Villain revealed their own feelings.
"Really? Out of nowhere?" Villain begins, "You say that like I haven't been obvious with how I feel about you. You think I flirt with every hero I fight?"
Pressing a hand to their forehead, feeling their exasperation rise, Hero lets out a frustrated breath.
"No, no of course not," Hero finally meets their eyes, "but you can't just drop 'I'm in love with you' suddenly."
Villain rolls their eyes. "Of course I can. You don't have to feel the same way-"
"Stop assuming." Now it's Hero's turn to interrupt. "I never said that...I just..." They exhale slowly through their nose. "God why did you have to complicate things."
Villain visibly flinches, and Hero knows they're saying everything all wrong. They don't know what else to say though, words failing them in this moment. Everything they say just makes everything worse.
"Let's..." Villain speaks slowly, "Let's just pretend I never said anything."
Hero nods, pretending not to see the wetness threatening to spill over Villain's lashes.

Hero stares down at the paper in front of them with mounting dread. Their stomach is all tied in knots, and they feel a cold sweat at the back of their neck.
"You know, you don't have to do this if you truly don't want, I'm not forcing you." Villain purrs behind Hero, voice against their ear. The threat is unspoken. If Hero doesn't sign, they'll continue with their rampage. Continue killing, destroying, maiming.
The pen shakes in Hero's hand as they continue staring down at the paper. It's just a piece of paper, made of thick cardstock, cream white. Yet Hero has been staring at it for fifteen minutes, as if it'll bite them.
Certificate of Marriage
The font is too pretty, all stately and official looking. Hero feels as if they may throw up any minute.
"I don't understand why.." Hero finally finds their voice, asking the question that's been bouncing around in their mind since Villain first pulled the paper out as they suggested a truce.
"You already know my terms. In exchange for leaving your hero friends unharmed, for leaving the civilians of the city unharmed, I want you." Villain's voice is something possessive, filled with fire and heat. "This just makes it more official. More binding."
Hero shudders, and they feel as Villain steps closer behind them, a dark shadow looming over them. They know this goes beyond simply wanting to make their agreement more binding and they both know it.
"You know it's not legitimate- it's not legally binding without an officator." Hero stumbles over their words, not even sure if that's true.
Villain snorts, not usually one to be worried about legality of course. They put a hand to Hero's shoulder, warm and rough.
"I can find a priest to threaten. No one needs to know how and when we signed. Unless you'd rather make a big ceremony of this." Villain's tone is now teasing, amused by the idea of a wedding. "That could certainly be done if you prefer."
Flushing hot, Hero shakes their head quickly. No, they would not prefer that. This is already nerve-wracking and humiliating as is. A part of them wants to outright refuse, to tear the paper the shreds, and throw it in their face, but Hero knows this is the chance to get Villain to back down.
"I wouldn't be unkind to you." Villain says, voice suddenly softer and more serious. They lean forward, face resting against Hero's neck. The most terrible part is that Hero knows they mean it. They wouldn't be unkind or cruel, and that makes this all the more difficult. "You'd belong to me, but I'd take care of you."
Hero already knows there's no choice. They knew from the beginning that there was no other option. They have to do what is best for everyone else. Shakily, they finally nod.
"So selfless, so sacrificial to others." Villain says as they place a feather light kiss against the shell of their ear. "We'll have to work on that once you're with me."
They take Hero's hand currently holding the pen in their own, their grasp strong, as they lift it to the paper.

Villain effortlessly dodges another punch, light on their feet as air. They don't counter attack, mostly dodging and misdirecting as Hero gets increasingly frustrated.
"You keep just dodging! Fight back already!" Hero shouts, as Villain moves out of the way yet again. Hero grits their teeth, frustrated. Villain is doing this on purpose, they know it.
Villain frowns, eyebrows drawn. "I'm not sure about that." They twirl around, as graceful as a dancer as they avoid Hero's next strike.
Sighing, Hero drops their arms, sagging in place. "I swear to God if this is about last time." They can feel their face twitching in irritation as they speak.
"Last time I didn't hold back-" Villain starts, voice full of an amount of concern that Hero finds absolutely nauseating.
"I don't care -"
"- You got hurt." Villian finishes, their expression nearly being able to be mistaken for something like guilt. "Badly hurt."
"Stop treating me like I'm made of glass." Hero's arm cross against their chest, fingernails cutting into their palms as they try and keep their frustration at bay. They don't know who they're more upset at, Villain, for acting like they're breakable or at themselves for evidently being so fragile in Villain's eyes.
Villain's face twists into something firmer, more serious, as they step forward, getting into Hero's space. Hero isn't naive enough to think they're finally going to give them the fight they want.
"You were hospitalized. I thought you weren't going to survive." Villain's voice now has a fire in it unheard until now. "At my hands. Your blood was on my hands."
Stepping even closer, their hands finally, for the first time since this fight began, are finally on Hero as they shove them against the wall. Pressing forward, Villain's eyes burn into their's.
"I know how destructive I can be when I let myself, and I normally don't care about breaking you heroes apart. If I go too far and someone dies," Villain's breath fans across their cheek, "but not you. You don't get to die on me, and I'm not going to carelessly break my favorite plaything."

The diver coughed and sputtered for a full minute, gasping for air as the sharp rocks digged into her palms.
"Aww poor human, I forgot how much your kind needs air." The melodic voice didn't sound sorry at all, and the moment she caught her breath, the diver looked at the fantastical and terrifying creature that pulled her down into the murky depths.
A mermaid. Of course, it was common knowledge that they existed, but sightings were rare. She never expected to come face to face with one during what was a normal dive.
"Why...what is this place?" She asked, voice still raspy from the salt water. Looking around, she could see she was in a cavern of some sort. An underwater cave with some chambers of air? Sunlight shone in from a crack high overhead, so she must be above sea level, but water lapped all around her feet.
The creature spoke again, and she could decided that she could put the voice and appearance of the mer as vaguely female.
"This is your new home, silly!" She looked her in the face now, noticing her inhuman appearance. She was beautiful, of course, but the diver didn't miss the sharp teeth, and the flash of a third eyelid when she blinked. She felt herself shudder.
"What do you mean? I don't understand," She sat up, moving the clinging wet hair from her face. "Why did you pull me down?"
The mermaid inched closer, pulling herself up on the bank, and the diver's eyes looked down the long expanse of her tale, noting her scales and sharp looking spines and fins. This was a dangerous creature.
"I always wanted a pet human. Your species is so fascinating! But I couldn't take just any human," She speaks with such enthusiasm, and if it wasn't for her appearance and strange lilt of her voice, the diver could almost mistake her for one of the upbeat girls she went to school with. "I saw you swimming, and you looked so pretty that it had to be you!" She finishes with a flourish, tail smacking against the water.
"I can't be a pet! I need to go back." She demands, voice desperate. "I'll just swim out of this cave."
The mermaid flashes her another sharp toothed grin. "You can try, but these caves are dark and twisty. You might run out of air before you can."
The divers frown deepens. She knows the statistics for underwater caving. She hasn't even been trained for it yet, never having thought she'd need it. Her breathing apparatus was gone too, ripped away by the mermaid as she dragged her down.
"I'll starve here," She tries reasoning, "What good of a pet am I if I'm dead?"
The mermaid brought her sharp claws up as she rested her own head in her hands. She watched as her gills fluttered. "I'll bring you food. I know you humans can eat fish, and I'm a good hunter." She says this with pride, as if trying to impress.
"Okay, but I need water. Humans will die without water." She tries countering, heart racing as the situation starts to set in.
"You're silly. There's water all around us." The mermaid giggles, her expression playful.
"Humans can't drink salt water. We need fresh water." She deadpans, trying to make this mermaid see logic.
Her lip juts out, as if this doesn't make a lick of sense. "I don't believe that. This water is perfectly fine! I live in it, and others live in it, and you humans swim in it."
She leans closer, her cold and clammy hand going to toy with a strand of the human diver's hair, and her heart jumps to her throat at the close proximity of those claws that could tear her to pieces within seconds.
"Don't worry, I'll take good care of you. We'll have so much fun together."

Hero had the two criminals cornered in the alleyway. Surrounded on three sides by large towering brick walls, there was nowhere to run.
"I got you now, nowhere to escape." Hero gloated with a grin and watched as they cowered further. Usually, criminals and the like weren't intimidated by Hero, and they had to work hard to even be taken seriously.
"Now, if you surrender willingly, no harm will come to you." Hero's grin widened as they spoke in an overly confident tone. Even earlier in this fight, these two criminals had no problem trying to fight Hero, even managing to get some good hits in. Now, here they were, seemingly scared frozen.
Hero found it to be very validating until they noticed that their eyes were looking slightly past Hero. Frown instantly forming and face falling, Hero spoke again.
"There's something terrifying behind me, isn't there?"
The two nodded slowly, still not moving. Hero's frown deepened. They felt a sudden rise of anxiety twisting in their gut.
"How terrifying?" Hero couldn't bring themselves to look, but as soon as they asked, they felt strong hands fall atop their shoulders, pulling them close.
Villain's familiar voice sounded mischievously in their ear, breath fanning across Hero's neck.
"Extremely terrifying."
