Seeing those inspirational messages about "you don't have to be the person you were five minutes ago" or "you can change everything in your life RIGHT NOW" is dangerous advice for someone who is a minor inconvenience away from shaving their head, changing their name, and leaving school and their career to be a stunt actor in Hollywood.
#maybe they're born with it#maybe its mania#i blame youtube and Marvel for making stunt work look so fun

never understood students who willingly attend their own graduation ceremony. the entire point of graduating is they can't force you to attend shit anymore
#my parents threatened to drug me to make me go to my HS graduation#the only way i got out of it was “forgetting” to fill out the cap and gown paperwork

I always associated hunger with an extreme nauseous feeling and dizziness. Turns out that that's hypoglycemia and I should really be eating before that point. But unless my stomach is physically rumbling (which apparently doesn't happen every time one is hungry) I don't know when I'm hungry or how full I am when I do eat.
Which I suppose has the advantage of functioning on very little food but at what cost?
how do people forget to eat?
hunger is physical pain, do other people just not notice it?
--
Are you stupid?
Not experiencing hunger cues in the expected way is a huge part of neurodivergence. Eating disorders will mess with those cues and it can take years of work to get them back. Mental illness can distract a person from them just as hyperfocus can.
No, you dumbass, of course some people do not notice—or experience—it.

I know I need to go to bed when I can feel my teeth. Usually that's the last sign after I've been in a bad mood all day, the final piece of the puzzle that tells me I'm overstimulated.
Ever have those days where everything just feels Bad?
This isn't even taking into account the times I have to wear anything that isn't my comfiest outfit😭

Some Thunderbolts tropes that I think would be really funny coming from someone who wasn't around for 2012 Avengers era.
- Yelena has a pet guinea pig that she lets free roam the tower, everyone is shocked at how it's still alive.
- Bob is just confused, all the time. But he's got the spirit and just goes along with it anyway.
- Everyone else shit-talks John in Russian in front of him and he gets really butthurt about it.
- Yelena and Ava ask Bucky to fix their vehicles and Alexei gets mad that they don't ask him first even though he sucks at cars.
- Val keeps trying to do nice things for them to get on their good side but nobody buys it. But then when someone else does something nice that everyone appreciates she immediately takes the credit.
- Ava, true to her name, drifts through the tower like a cryptid. Sometimes she will follow them from room to room, other times she disappears for days at a time and they think she left before she materializes in the kitchen with a Pop tart.
- Bucky is the only one who works a 9-5, everyone else goofs off all day.
- Yelena and Bob are the masterminds behind most of the shenanigans that happen, but it's mainly Yelena planning it and Bob just wanting to be included. Ava vocalizes her disapproval but makes no move to stop them.
- John and Ava fight the others on the cleanliness of the tower.
- Obviously Alpine is there and rules the place. John gets mad at Alpine being a cat and every time it happens Bucky threatens to maim him.
- Sam visits from time to time, and John and Alexei both feel the need to one-up him on everything.
Feel free to add anything!

I’m weirdly obsessed with the post time skip scene at the end of httyd 3 where Hiccup is so effortlessly sailing and steering their ship. I want to see a mini series of Hiccup getting used to these things, of realizing that nothing will ever be as it was, and he has to learn what he would’ve already learned if they hadn’t made peace with and existed amongst the dragons, and remembering how things were before the peace.
Just how long it took to go anywhere by ship, how much patience it took to sometimes just catch a few fish, or to catch a bore, or herd sheep, or get to the top of the mountain.
It would’ve been depressing, just to deal with these things after having lived the life he, and they, did.
#I could do a whole thesis on that ten munutes#like the fact that Hiccup could fly bareback so well despite only flying Toothless bareback one or twice maybe#and he did it so effortlessly despite not flying anything for many moons#or how his outfit is a combination of himself and Toothless and both his parents#how his leg has changed and evolved over the years#how Toothless' tail has faded from the sun#i could go on forever i swear#its so good

a writing competition i was going to participate in again this year has announced that they now allow AI generated content to be submitted
their reasoning being that "we couldn't ban it even if we wanted to, every writer already uses it anyway"
"Every writer"?
come on

I'm so grateful my mom had a two activity limit per kid, and most of the time we did the same activities anyway.

The town I grew up in had a day every year called *REDACTED* Cleanup Day. You can register individually or with teams and the community center gives you special garbage bags and separate recycling bins and you pick up trash around town. They had prizes for most bags, most recycling, coolest piece of trash, etc. Someone usually set up a grill in the parking lot. It was such a wonderful time, some of the best days of my childhood were on *REDACTED* Cleanup Days.
Moral of the story, we should have more of those. It really doesn't seem that hard to set up. Ask the city for permission, ask a few businesses to sponsor, get some signups. And, most importantly, the community gets cleaner.
picking up litter is worth it!!
individual environmentalism gets a lot of flak in the face of corporate pollution but picking up litter makes a significant, noticeable impact. I spend about an hour a week picking up litter from around my dorm complex and I'm literally outpacing my community's litter production. Just an hour a week from one person is enough to offset nearly 200 people's worth of littering.
it would take less than 100 man-hours of labor per week to keep my whole college campus entirely litter-free. If you got two classrooms' worth of people to spend two hours per week each picking up litter, the whole campus would end up spotless and they'd straight up fucking run out of things to pick up.
If you're looking for some way to make a noticeable and positive impact on the world around you, go pick up some litter.
