Edwin and George were halfway through their holiday in Scotland when Edwin was awoken to an odd noise coming from outside. Edwin, of course, loved all creatures and wanted to know if the animal was in distress. He slipped out of bed, careful not to wake his sleeping boyfriend and left the cottage.
 Edwins body shuddered as he stepped outside to investigate the noise coming from the forest just behind the cottage. Although there was a heatwave taking over Britain, the full moon made the nights air crisp. He took a torch and his Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them book, just in case the noise was coming from a magical creature. George had told Edwin all about the magical creatures that he had encountered during his school days in Scotland and Edwin was hoping to finally catch a glimpse of one, he didn’t mind which creature, whether it was a pixie or a gigantic Welsh Green Dragon (although he knew that was very unlikely). He would be foolish to approach a magical creature, especially those classified XXX and above, he just wanted to admire from afar.
He slowly approached the trees, shining his torch just a few meters in front of his feet, the last thing he wanted was to spook the creature. Whenever he heard rustling that wasn’t him, he’d stop in his tracks and wait a few seconds before resuming his search. He was now at the outer layer of trees, the moon’s cold glow couldn’t reach the land here, it was pitch black. The atmosphere surrounding Edwin had changed, with the loss of sight (his torch felt a lot dimmer in the woods), he now had to primarily rely on his other senses.
He heard the sound of scampering very close, he wanted to show the creature that he was no threat, even though he wasn’t entirely sure which creature he was dealing with yet. He backed up into a tree and stood there and waited for the creature to now approach him. A growling noise came from behind the tree which he was pressed up against and Edwin now started to shake. It was as if he had suddenly come to his senses, what on earth was he doing hunting for magical creatures in the dead of night, without even letting George know.
Edwin felt like he was stuck to the tree, he needed to make his way back to the cottage but it felt miles away, he was less than 100 meters into the forest but it was so dark it felt the edge of the woods was nowhere near. The growling noise became louder and he could feel panting on the back of his neck. This was all he needed to become unstuck from his position near the tree, a surge of adrenaline flowed through his veins. Edwin was now running as fast as he could in the direction he believed the cottage to be in. Back to safety, back to George.
He didn’t bother to look back to see if the creature was still behind or if it was even a dangerous creature. He could now see the cottage, a light had been turned on, thank God. He finally reached the edge of the woods, he was safe, he thought. The creature swiped at his leg and he instantly fell down, he turned around to face the creature. The torch and his book were now across the garden and he was left with nothing but his fists to fight off the creature. The glow from the cottage light hit the creature and Edwin could finally see what it was.
A werewolf.
He punched and punched the beast until his arms grew weak, he knew this was the end. He had a slash to the face, the back of his legs and he felt the wolf sink his teeth into his arm. He finally let out a horrific scream as a final attempt to ward off the creature but it was no use.
He heard the door behind him burst open, and he could see a ray of artificial light hit his face. He wasn’t sure if this was real or if this the way to the afterlife. Please be real, he thought, please please please. A tear creeped down his face as the wolf stopped slashing at the helpless boy. A powerful stream of red light hit the wolf, it whimpered and the beast darted back into the woods.
His body felt hot and cold all over, hot from the blood oozing from every gash on his body and cold from the fresh air surrounding him and the boy knelt beside him. His ears were ringing but he could hear the man talking to him, “Come on Eddie, you’re going to be okay” and  “Eddie please talk to me” he recognised that the man was crying, sobbing, in fact but had no energy to do anything about it. He heard the wolf howl in the distance.
“I’m going to help you okay? You’re going to get better, I promise, but you’ve got to stay awake” that felt impossible, his eyes were heavier than they had ever been and he wanted nothing more than to just go to sleep and not feel a thing. He felt the boy hug him awkwardly as he remained laying on the ground.
In a panic George picked up Edwin and Apparated to the only place he knew he would get help. He knew that it would be dangerous with the condition Edwin was in but what other choice did he have? He could barely focus on the destination in mind, but how could he focus on anything right now?
He finally got a strong enough picture and Apparated, he clung on to the younger, weaker boy like his life depended on it, because it did. They landed across the field from his destination and he could see that very luckily Edwin had not been splinched. He held the boy with one arm under his knees and one arm on his back and he ran to the door and put Edwin on the kitchen table.
“MUM! DAD! HELP ME, PLEASE!”  he bellowed from Edwin’s side, he held his hand and reassured the injured boy that everything was going to be ok.
George honestly had no idea if everything was going to be ok, but couldn’t bear the thought of giving any additional stress to his boyfriend, even if he wasn’t completely conscious. He placed his head on Edwin’s chest and began to sob as he waited for help.
A rumble of footsteps came from behind George, the first to arrive was Ron, “George? What’s wrong?” he fumbled over to the kitchen, it was obvious that he had just woken up.
“Please, go get Fred…”
He caught a glimpse of Edwin’s face, “Oh- uh bloody hell, alright”. A flash of emerald green filled the living room behind the two boys before Molly, Arthur and Ginny joined George in the kitchen.
“Oh my sweet boy, what have you done now-” she could see that this was no prank gone wrong. She recognised the same magical scars on Edwin that were across the face of an old friend of hers, and fellow member of The Order of the Phoenix, Remus Lupin. Molly knew basic healing spells, the type of spells any parent with seven children should know, but she knew this wasn’t enough and Edwin would have to have urgent magical medical care at St Mungo’s.
“I will do the best I can to get him wrapped up but he will need to go to St. Mungo’s, right away!” Molly told her son as she bandaged his boyfriend’s fresh wounds. It was useless, the bandages became soaked through almost instantly.
“Will you come with me? I can’t take him alone.” George cried, he felt weak and drained from crying, he couldn’t even imagine how Edwin felt right now.
“Of course, Dear. We’ll all go.”, said Molly
“Thank you” he whispered.
This isn’t how George wanted to introduce Edwin to the rest of his family, but he had no choice. His mother only asked questions related to how the incident happened as she was bandaging him, to respect their privacy, but he still wished that it was under a more pleasant circumstance. So they could all meet the fun, sweet and loving boy, George knew.
Just before they left for St Mungo’s Fred and Ron appeared from the fireplace, “Quickly boys, we’re all taking Edwin and George to St Mungo’s” Arthur told the pair. It was the first thing he had said all night.
They both ran over to the table and Fred held on to George’s shoulder, “He’s going to be alright, I’ll carry him there don’t worry.” Ron took George by the elbow and led him to the fireplace and they travelled to St Mungo’s. Fred scooped up Edwin’s body, making sure not to touch anywhere that looked injured and took him through the fireplace. Molly, Arthur and Ginny all followed.
Upon reaching the hospital, a bed surrounded by healers was waiting for Fred and Edwin’s arrival. He placed him gently onto the bed and the nurses rushed him away for treatment. The family were taken to a room, which Edwin would return to once treated and in recovery.
Fred hated seeing his twin brother in this state, although he was worrying about Edwin too, he had to keep strong and hopeful for George. He tightly hugged his brother and let him sob into his shoulder. He felt like this was all he could do at this moment. Their mother and father, sister and brother all joined the hug to comfort George.
Hours had passed, his family had all fallen asleep in their chairs while waiting but George was kept awake with worry. George felt like he was just about to drop when a healer wheeled a bed into the room.
“Blimey, he has a lot of visitors already!” the healer gasped.
George did not have the energy to laugh or even smile but he gathered enough to ask, “will he be ok?”
“Sir, as far as we can tell, he will be making a full recovery. He will need plenty of rest, we recommend he stays here for the next month, for daily check ups. We will need to talk to his parents about possible infection, are they his parents?” She asked, glancing over to Molly and Arthur.
“Oh, no, they’re mine. He stays with us and doesn’t really have parents”. He didn’t know what else to say, there was no way that Edwin could go back home and tell his parents that he had become a werewolf.
The healer looked down at the boy who was now sitting next to Edwin, who looked sick himself, “Ok, will you let them know to contact the front desk when they’re awake so we can discuss options for Edwin Scally, please.” George was looking up to her now and gave a light smile, “And please, Dear, do try and get some rest. I understand that it has been a very difficult night but you also need to look after yourself.”
“I will, thank you” the healer looked at the whole family sympathetically before leaving the room.
George once again held Edwins hand, he felt warmer than he did last night. Now that he knew that Edwin was safe, he could rest comfortably. He placed his head on the back of the armchair on Edwin’s bedside and soon fell asleep.

The sun was beaming down on the two boys who had decided to visit the beach nearby. They both lay on beach towels, George was sunbathing, simply enjoying the rare British sunshine. While Edwin’s nose was burrowed deep into a book, as per usual.
“What’cha reading?” George asked, now propped up on his elbows and sipping from his drink.
“Just a muggle book” Edwin responded, still fixated on his novel.
“Ahh, thought so. Eddie, I was thinking…”
Edwin lifted his head away from his book and looked over to the older boy, he squinted his eyes as he looked at George, he didn’t quite realise how bright it was today.
“We’ve never actually been out together,” George finished.
“What do you mean?” Edwin asked, puzzled. What did he mean? They had been out to plenty of places together, Diagon Alley, Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour, Flourish and Blotts, and now here in Scotland.
“I mean, like, out… drinking. We’ve never been drinking together.”
“I’d love to go out together” Edwin lightly chuckled, “although, we will need to eat first! I’m bloody starving.” He said, packing his book and beach towel into his bag.
“Of course! I spotted a nice looking chip shop on the way here, if that’s to your fancy?”
“Perfect!”
The boys smiled at each other and headed in the direction of the chip shop, hand in hand steps in sync.
~~~
Edwin laughed at his boyfriend as he held a drink in each hand and did a weird dance in time to the blaring music, on his way over to the booth where Edwin was sat. They were already a few drinks down and the alcohol had just started to hit Edwin as he took a sip of the cocktail George had just brought over.
Edwin felt a pulse of energy rush through his body, he grabbed his boyfriend by the hand and pulled him towards the dancefloor. They danced and they laughed without a care in the world. Everything in this moment was perfect for the two boys.
They sat at the bar and ordered a few shots each, a step up from the fruity cocktails they had been drinking throughout the night. Edwin had never been this drunk, he had been tipsy, of course but never drunk. They returned to the booth that they were previously sat at, with another drink in hand.
“You know I love you, right?” Edwin shouted to the boy who was sat just across from him.
“Well, I should think so,” George teased, reaching his hand out to grab his boyfriends.
“Before meeting you and Fred, I never really had friends, let alone a boyfriend,” he laughed, “and you’ve just given me everything I have ever wanted…” Edwin started to well up, his vision now becoming blurry, he began to weep, “I just worry, that I’m not enough.”
“Hey, hey, hey! Where’s all this coming from?” George asked as he practically leapt over the table to sit by Edwin’s side. He embraced the shorter boy and told him, “You will always be enough, I’ll love you forever and always. Now, let’s get you home.” Edwin nodded in agreement.
The pair stumbled through the quiet streets. Edwin had cheered up a little as George was quite good at making people laugh, but he still felt weirdly emotional. George offered to give Edwin a piggyback ride for the last leg of the journey, Edwin agreed and hopped onto the taller boys back. Edwin placed his head onto his own arm which was wrapped around George’s neck. He could hear dogs barking in the distance and George mumbling about something, he couldn’t quite make out what it was as tiredness soon took over.
He woke up the next morning still wearing the shorts he went out in but was shirtless. He wriggled out of them and kicked the shorts out of bed, he wasn’t quite ready to wake up yet, but the movement had woken up George.
“You alright?” He murmured, wrapping an arm around Edwin.
“Yeah,” Edwin whispered back to the boy. “How about a lie in, today? Head’s killing.” He winced at the sudden shot of pain, pulsing in his head.
“Can’t say no to that. I’ll go get some water for us both,” he told Edwin.
He returned shortly with cool water, fresh toast and painkillers.
“What did I do to deserve you?” Edwin laughed as George placed the plate and glass in front of him. George planted a kiss on his forehead and returned to bed, back by Edwin’s side.
George smiled at him, it was obvious he had something to say but wasn’t sure if he should say it.
“You know, you’re quite an emotional drunk…” he finally said.
“I didn’t say anything embarrassing did I?” Edwin questioned, slightly blushing.
George laughed, “No, don’t worry. Yu know I’ll always love you, right?”
“No matter what?”
“No matter what.”
The couple lay in bed in a relaxed hug, just enjoying each other’s company.
“Gonna freshen up, still feel icky after last night.” Edwin told George before reluctantly getting out of bed.
“Good idea, I’ll hop in the shower straight after you”
Edwin returned to the bedroom and George went for his shower. Today was definitely a lazy day, not to mention the ongoing heatwave, and he decided to lay on the bed in a fresh pair of boxers, taking in the beaming sun rays, seeping through the blinds. Not long after George reappeared in just a towel hanging on his hips a smaller towel in his hands to dry his hair. Edwin propped himself up on his elbows to admire his boyfriend.
“Like what you see?” George asked, now leaning on the door frame, the towel was now hanging dangerously low.
“How can you tell?”
“You’ve made it pretty obvious” he teased, signalling to Edwin’s bulge.
George threw the towel that he was using to dry his hair onto a nearby chair, “Want me to get rid of the other one?” he smirked.
Edwin desperately nodded and George did as he promised.
He straddled the boy and kissed him passionately before moving to his neck, collarbones, chest, and stomach. He had reached Edwin's boxer waistband.
“Would you like me to remove these?” he asked, tracing the band with his fingertips.
“Please.” Edwin managed to gasp.
“Are you sure that you’re ready?”
Edwin nodded, “Please, George. I know I want this!”
Both boys were now completely naked, they grinded their hips together for a while but George wanted more.
“Get on your knees,” Edwin did as he was told. He looked up at his boyfriend, God he was gorgeous, even from this angle, he thought. George held Edwins chin up to make eye contact until he instructed him to open his mouth. Again, he did as he was told. George slowly inserted his member into his boyfriend’s mouth, he let Edwin do all the work at first, letting him fully explore George’s body for the first time.
As it became more heated, George tangled his fingers into Edwin’s damp hair and began to thrust at his own pace, “You’re a good boy,” he moaned. Hearing this made Edwin moan himself as he reached for his own dick and began to pleasure himself.
They once again maintained eye contact until George’s grunts became more frequent, he tilted his head back and let himself release into Edwin’s mouth. This sight was enough for Edwin as he too came but, his landed on his chest and dripped down his stomach.
Edwin lay on the bed, still covered in his own release until George traced the drips on Edwin’s skin with his tongue. George had reached Edwin’s face, they were both rosy-cheeked and out of breath. They lay side by side, holding hands while trying to catch their breath.
“I love you, Eddie.”
“Because I sucked your dick?”
“Don’t be silly” he said with a playful hit to Edwin’s chest.
Both of the boys giggled. Edwin stood up and searched for his towel, “Guess I better go shower again, huh.”
~~~
The couple made another trip to the beach, it seemed to be a daily occurrence so far, but that’s what holidays are all about, really. They stood at the pier, a slight breeze rustling through the loose button-ups they were wearing.
“Can we get ice-cream?”
“Why would I say no?”
Of course this ice-cream parlour was a muggle one, the thought of introducing this to George excited him as he wasn’t sure if all magical ice-cream was non-melting. They sat on a bench on the pier they were on previously, with their cones of ice-cream. Edwin had a single coffee flavour scoop, and George had at least three scoops of muggle flavours he had never had.
“This bloody thing is melting too fast” George claimed as he made a desperate attempt to save any ice-cream from dripping down onto his clothes, he didn’t want to waste any. There was a moment where the couple looked each other in the eyes as George licked up the side of the cone. This made Edwin burst out laughing, which gained him a muffled “Shurrup!” from George.
That day had been a wonderful day of firsts for the couple, and they wouldn’t have it any other way.

The night before their week off had arrived, both Edwin and George had finished their last shift in the joke shop. They battled to be the first to use the shower, of course, George won. His height was a massive advantage over Edwin, as well as years of training as a Beater. When the shower was finally free again for Edwin to use, he made the most of the ice cold water on this sweltering day. He was probably in there for 30 minutes before he heard chattering from the living room. He shut the water off, dried himself off and got changed into a comfortable pair of shorts and a t-shirt. As he entered the living room to investigate the noise, he was greeted by two familiar faces, Fred and Lee.
Fred was slightly tanned which was unusual considering it was very rare that someone would come back from Wales with a tan. They excitedly rummaged through their bags, attempting to find gifts that they had bought for the other two boys on their week off. Fred found a magnet which apparently had the longest place name in the world written on it.
“It’s just a marketing scheme!” claimed Lee.
“It’s bloody brilliant, is what it is!” replied Fred.
“Anyway…” Lee swiftly moved on the conversation as he obviously wasn’t as impressed as Fred was with the magnets, “As we were in Anglesey, we just had to visit the hometown of the Holyhead Harpies! We didn’t quite get a signed photo from Gwenog Jones, but we did get you these t-shirts!” Lee and Fred held up a t-shirt each to give to the other pair of boys. The t-shirts were both a bright green and featured the claw of a Harpie as well as a broom.
“I really love these! Thank you guys.” Edwin said, reaching out to hug them both.
“We will be expecting presents from wherever you two go!” chuckled Fred.
“Of course we’ll get you something” replied George, “and on that note, we really should be getting to bed. We’re wanting to set off early tomorrow!”
“Are we?!” groaned Edwin.
“Yes, now come on!” George laughed and tugged Edwin in the direction of his bedroom.
“Night guys!” Edwin shouted to the other two as he plodded along through the hall. He heard them wish him a goodnight in return as well as a few chuckles.
~~~
The morning soon came and the curtains, which were charmed to open when sunlight hit them, slid open and the sun rays flooded the room. Edwin buried his head into his pillow to block the light but George was now wide awake and playfully bouncing on the bed to encourage Edwin to get up.
“Wake up, lazy bones!”
A muffled groan came from Edwin.
“We’ve got so much to do and I’m sure you’ll love it!”
“Okay, okay, just let me shower first.” Edwin said as he finally lifted up his head. He was squinting his eyes and his curly hair was all over the place.
George laughed at the younger boy and said that he would get started on the packing.
Once he had freshened up, he joined George in the kitchen for breakfast, “You look lovely today” George told him as he planted a kiss on Edwins forehead and slid a plate of pancakes in front of him.
“These look lovely too!” laughed Edwin as he took a massive mouthful of pancake.
“Hey!” George fake pouted at Edwin.
“Yeah, yeah, you look lovely too, I guess.” Edwin poked his tongue out at the older boy.
George wrapped his arms around Edwin from behind and placed his head on his shoulder, “We have 45 minutes before the train arrives, so you better hurry!”
“A train? Like, a muggle train?!” Edwin asked.
“Of course! Thought I’d like to experience a bit of muggle culture.” He laughed lightly, “not only that, but I thought you would prefer it over Apparition”
“Mmm, appreciate it!” Edwin said with a mouth full of pancakes and a big smile on his face.
George planted a few kisses into Edwins neck before telling him once again to hurry up with his breakfast.
~~~
Edwin taught George how to use the train ticket machine but once he knew how, he blocked Edwin from seeing the final destination.
“C’mon you have to let me know!” Edwin begged, jumping up at George’s stretched arm to grab the tickets.
“You’ll find out soon enough!” he said as he quickly put the two tickets into his pocket and hurried Edwin to the train which was pulling into the station. They boarded the train which was fairly empty this early in the morning, and found a table seat.
Edwin sat opposite George and fake sulking in efforts to make George give in and tell him where they were going. George knew exactly what he was doing and ignored the younger boy, “that’s not gonna work” he said with a smirk.
“Can you at least tell me how long this train journey will be?” he sighed.
George gave in slightly and allowed Edwin to know this little bit of information, “5 to 6 hours, I reckon!”
Edwin glanced at him, “I know you’re joking, just tell me the truth!” he protested.
“That... is the truth… I thought that you’d like the train?” he looked a little upset, as if it were a better idea to Apparate to the destination or use Floo powder.
Edwin noticed the change in mood, “No, no I love it! I just didn’t think that you’d be up for it, you know.... Because we have other ways.” He was aware that there were many muggles on the train and he couldn’t start talking about nonsense like “Floo Powder”.
George smiled slightly, “I used to do this journey all the time to schoo- oh shit…”
Edwins eyes widened, “We’re going to Scotland?!” he said in an excited tone, “Like, are we actually going to your old school?”
“No, we’re not going to Hogwarts’‘ he said in a lower tone to ensure nobody else could hear their conversation. “But we are going to Scotland, yes. Dammit, I really wanted it to be a surprise!”
“I’m so excited to go! I’ve never been to Scotland before!” The truth is, Edwin never really left his hometown. Although his family had enough money to travel anywhere they wanted, they were always too caught up in work to make time to spend with each other. Perhaps that’s another reason why Edwin wanted to be nothing like them, he wanted to spend as much time as possible with loved ones, no matter what.
The train steadily chugged through the British countryside, warm air filled the train despite the desperate attempts to cool down the coach with the air conditioning. George had fallen asleep, he looked so peaceful. Edwin opened his rucksack and pulled out a small sketchpad and his watercolour set. Although he originally wanted to paint the countryside, he had a better view right in front of him.
He painted the napping boy, he was wearing an orange and green patchwork shirt with a white tee underneath, he had a gold chain laying on his chest and he wore a pair of black shorts, which were obscured by the table between the two boys. His hair was in more of a natural style today, Edwin had got so used to seeing it full of gel for work that he had almost forgotten how light and wispy it looked naturally. He was gorgeous.
A middle aged woman made her way down the aisle pushing a trolly full of drinks and snacks, muggle drinks and snacks, of course. Edwin didn’t actually know what George liked when it came to drinks and snacks as they always drank butterbeer or pumpkin juice, “I’ll take a fizzy orange drink and  a couple of the chocolates on the top shelf, please”. He took out some change from his wallet to pay and she carried on with her journey down the train.
Edwin nudged the sleeping boy slightly to offer him some of the drink he had just bought while it was still ice-cold, “hey! hey Georgie” he whispered. “I got you something to eat.” He awoke to the mention of food.
Still a bit dazed, he looked at Edwin and it was obvious he was confused, “Where are we?” he asked as he rubbed his eyes.
“Just entering Scotland, apparently!” Edwin answered and handed him the drink.
He accepted the drink and took a sip, “Orange?” he questioned.
“Well, you didn’t expect pumpkin juice, did you?”
“It does look pretty similar though!” he wasn’t wrong. “It’s very nice, just not what I was expecting,” he laughed.
A couple of hours went by and they had finally reached their destination. They were in a seaside town, just east of Edinburgh. They were surrounded by the countryside as they walked up a path leading to a campsite.
“I didn’t pack camping equipment” Edwin said, his voice full of worry.
“That’s okay, good job we’re not going camping” George said as he wrapped an arm around the back of Edwin to comfort him. “We’re almost there, we’re just walking through,” he said smiling.
They walked a little longer before reaching a slight hill, thank God George had put a spell on the luggage which meant that it was virtually weightless otherwise this trip may have been impossible, especially on this boiling hot day.
George reached the top of the hill before Edwin did, “Hurry up! We’re here!” he yelled.
Once Edwin joined George at the top of the hill, he dropped his luggage and pulled George into the tightest hug.
“I’m guessing you like it then?” he lightly laughed into Edwins neck.
“I love it, thank you!” Edwin replied.
Stood in front of them was a cottage, one which was almost similar to the one Edwin had always dreamed of and painted numerous times. It looked like it was built in the 16 hundreds, it really was perfect. The walls of the cottage were covered in ivy and there were rows upon rows of all sorts of flowers in the garden. There was a forest behind the cottage which Edwin was excited to explore one day. George really had done a wonderful job finding this place for them.
