I started this waaaaaayyy back in November, and then life got busy and I didn't touch it for the longest time. After all the chaos of moving to a new state, it was so exciting to finally get settled into my new place and have an afternoon to just sit and paint!

Although I haven't actually seen Obi-Wan Kenobi, I've read about it and read a bunch of fics, and I love the idea of Reva Sevander finding her way to Dagobah after she ceases to be an Inquisitor, where she meets up with Yoda. And maybe they help each other, Yoda guiding Reva back to the light and helping to ground her, while she gives him a purpose in his retirement beyond around in his swamp and waiting for one of the Skywalker-Amidala kids to show up, and they're the better for it. I may just have to see if I can incorporate this thread into Fortune's Rule somewhere. (Yes, I'm still working on it! No, it's not abandoned! I think about it almost every day, and was finally making a little bit of headway on the next chapter this morning!)

Painting is watercolor on hot press paper. OMG I've loved Daniel Smith watercolors since I used my mom's as a preteen. They're intensely pigmented and smooth, and some of the colors granulate really nicely, and it feels so good to finally have developed enough skill to feel not completely like I'm just a kid messing around with the grownup paints. 😂

I love that the refinement levels of Obi-Wan and Count Dooku mean that you could definitely imagine both of them simultaneously preparing for a lightsaber duel while also rebuking their teammates who are asking them to do the efficient thing and use a blaster. Maybe they can confide in each other during the duel.

LOL yes, and when they're force ghosts they can bond over hating blasters without having to duel

Fic recs: From the Sidelines

Fics revolving around the normal people who get sucked into the cyclone of drama and nonsense that surrounds the main characters of Star Wars. These all are on my main fic rec list, but I wanted to sort them out into a separate, genre-specific list as well!

"The overworked project manager on the redesign of the Imperial Lambda-class shuttle gets surprisingly competent feedback from an unknown official on Coruscant. She promptly decides that anyone bored enough to do a technical review of their own free will should be found proper employment for their own good."

The Sith Who Brought Life Day; G, 13.3k, COMPLETE. A rather entertaining take on how Vader found out who blew up the Death Star.

Lovely hilarious thought for later, once Vader learns the Leia thing and gets his the rule of two is stupid actually he will be like, I know! Star Killer can marry my daughter, this works out well yes. This clearly solves all of my problems. Lol, this would be funny to see, Vader trying to just straight up start a Sith Dynasty and dragging in the entire fam! I wonder if Padmé would very grudgingly go along with it just because someone has to try to keep the chaos to a minimum. She would, of course, end up being part of the chaos.

Well, the writing muse is currently sulking in a corner and tearing out her hair, but the art muse has been feeling extremely chatty!

This is the first part of an intended 4-or-so panel series/comic strip, featuring Ahsoka and Starkiller as Rebels—and yes, they are 100% sending this pic to Vader as a postcard. Hi Master, wish you were here!

Did this one by sketching out one figure from a reference photo, then putting a pic of the sketch into Krita. Copied the outline, then used a colorize mask (ooh, fancy! literally had no idea this was even a thing a week ago, smh), added shading, extra outlining, and background.

Many thanks to the random redditor who mentioned making just one block with the rectangular select tool in Krita and then copying it multiple times to make a stone/brick wall. It makes life so much easier.

The Fulcrum + jaig eyes design in the graffiti is not entirely mine. Ages ago I saw a similar design while scrolling Pinterest, and later decided I wanted to make my own version as part of a 501 design.

If anyone has read this far and knows of any good Ahsoka & Starkiller fics, please share! I didn't find much of anything on AO3, but would love to see people's takes on how they might get along.

The second morning, Beru’s call came while Padmé was pacing her room and rehearsing the finer details of her cover story in preparation for the day’s meetings. “Have you found them?” Padmé blurted, the moment she answered her comm. “No.”  Beru’s voice was subdued.  “There’s still no sign.  No one’s even seen the speeder.  Of course, if they left it somewhere, it’s probably been picked up by Jawas, or some lowlife looking for a ride.” Unless, of course, speeder and twins been collectively taken possession of first.  Frankly, that seemed just as likely.  Padmé continued to pace. “Owen checked the slave markets in Espa,” Beru added.  “He didn’t see them there.” “That’s…” Padmé started, but she couldn’t finish the sentence. That’s good.  It was good, wasn’t it?  Owen hadn’t seen the twins in the Mos Espa slave markets.  That was good.  Unless it just meant they had already been— A wave of blank terror threatened to overwhelm her at the thought of her children being sold as slaves.  They couldn’t have been.  They just couldn’t.  But if they had… I might never see them again.  They might grow up as slaves.  Unless someone discovers what they are, and Palpatine finds out, and—
