Hi guys… I know I’ve been gone for ages on this account. It’s cuz I like only posting hux stuff here and I’ve not drawn him in awhile because I’ve been really busy with my graduate film!

Hayes is reminded of his childhood one evening and decides to venture home, where he rediscovers long forgotten childhood memories. Both good and bad.

He must come to terms and reconcile his past to move forward.

How do you think hitaka would handle nightmares? Hux has them for sure given his abusive father, and Mitaka might have them after kylo. Would they be kind to each other or sort of ignore it?

Ooooh this is a good one, and a lovely prompt for some art perhaps when I have more time.

I’d like to think it’s a mixture of both. Before when it was just Hux on his own he probably dealt with them by just ignoring them, waking up and just rolling over till he went back to sleep.

Probably thinking it being too “childish to keep dreaming about such things”. He probably doesn’t want to think on it either.

Mitaka on his own I’d say would be similar, but more so in the “I’m quite literally a First Order officer it’s unbecoming for me to react to such things”.

Together I’d say they might react differently. Hux maybe doesn’t outwardly react to his nightmares, waking up like one would normally and just rolling over- so Mitaka doesn’t realise he’s ever having them (at first).

Whereas Mitaka would maybe wake up a little more startled, and I like to think Hux is a light sleeper so he’d unfortunately wake him up too.

At first Hux would probably not put any thought into it, treating Mitaka like he’d treat himself with nightmares. Or (also) thinking that Mitaka, a grown man wouldn’t like to be “babied”.

After a few occasions of this happening I think Hux probably makes him speak on it, while ignoring his own issues/nightmares. And once Mitaka shares, Hux probably then deals with it in a very emotionally stunted way at first (similar to how he deals with it on his own)- but perhaps he’s the slightest bit softer towards Mitaka when he wakes him in the night and offers physical comfort because he can’t/doesn’t know how to offer emotional comfort.

I think it would be harder for Mitaka to pick up on Hux’s nightmares for a while and he only realises on a rare occasion when he’s awake and Hux is asleep. It probably takes Mitaka awhile to get Hux to open up and even then it’s (probably) just the barest of information as I like to think Hux is incredibly private even with his partner and so Mitaka finds it hard to comfort him because Hux doesn’t want it (to a certain degree).

If Mitaka was to try and comfort him after a nightmare, Hux would shrink away from it but if Mitaka is still asleep after Hux has a nightmare he’d seek comfort from him so he “doesn’t get caught”. (Mitaka would know in the morning when he awakes).

In short, Mitaka thinks he needs to “take it like a man” but is more than happy to receive and seek comfort from Hux whereas Hux isn’t ready to face that aspect of his life and feels “pathetic” for wanting comfort so doesn’t let himself have it freely.
