scenario Sunday: touch starved Remus Lupin?

disclaimers: a very touch starved remus, mentor/ mentee relationship

When you hug him, he tenses. His body is unfamiliar with the affection, causing his arms to awkwardly hang in the air and his body to subconsciously recoil.

You wrap your arms around him and lay your head against his shoulder, euphoria and appreciation swallowing you whole.

As you babble thank you’s, Remus remains frozen, staring down at you, confused yet… content? Remus doesn’t know how to describe it, but there’s something comforting about what you’re doing, something that makes him feel worthy and warm. But at the same time, the touch is disconcerting because Remus feels as though he may cry.

Once you release him, you realize how rigid he is, and how his face is twisted into unease. “Oh,” you breath, suddenly sure that you’ve fucked up. “I’m sorry. I— I was just excited about passing the test and I mean… I could never do it without you and I tend to show my appreciation through hugs and— well, anyway, i’m sorry.”

As you wait for his reply, you gnaw at your lip, berating yourself for making it so awkward. “He’s gonna stop tutoring me,” you think.

“What was that?” Remus asks, finally.

“That?” you repeat, a bit stunned. “It was a hug.”

For a moment, Remus is quiet, brows furrowed, gaze intent, an expression that has you squirming. Then, he says, “do it again.”

after the kiss him just pulling back slightly and winking at you while caressing your cheek, whispering "see you in september" before sauntering off with a smug smile when he sees how pissed his mother is LOL

omg imagine, just to keep up the pretense of dating you sirius actually starts sending letters to you over the summer and you always send one back, so by the time september comes you both actually like each other but neither of you know if your feelings for each other even fake or not because ANGST teehee

He saunters off and you're just let standing there with a dazed look in your eye. Your friends all running up to you asking wtf just happened and you're like 🤷‍♀️

But then a letter comes about a week later and it's him "thanks for helping me out sweetheart I owe you one" with some honeydukes chocolate and of course you write back and then you agree to keep up the ruse.

When it's September again he meets you on the platform with a wink "hey gorgeous how was your summer?" and his mums stood behind him scowling making you laugh. Then he's got his arm around your waist and he's dragging you over to meet all the other marauders and they're shocked because they've never seen Sirius look at a girl like this before. And it hurts because it feels so right, so perfect but it's just not real.....

james: what’s up with vee? they’ve been laying on the floor for like….an hour now?

rory: they’re just a little overwhelmed.

james: why?

rory: severus smiled at them.

rory: i prevented a murder today.

remus: really? how’d you do that?

rory, seeing lily: self-control.

vee & remus (probably): yes

sirius: well, we’re in jail.
